Fans will put down this inaugural issue wanting and waiting for more. Read Full Review
Overall, as a debut issue, this one is surprisingly action heavy while still setting up an engrossing narrative which is something that usually takes at least two issues to accomplish. This creative team is firing on all cylinders and reaching cruising altitude in record-setting fashion. Read Full Review
A strong Spider-Geddon that does a lot subtly and effectively, honing in on the things that make Spider-Gwen unique and painting her place in this larger story very well with little fault. Read Full Review
Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider #1 is off to a strong start, based on this one issue. It looks like Marvel made the right call with pulling Seanan McGuire into the mix; it seems that she's managed to revitalize the character and her world. Read Full Review
With Jason Aaron handing the rails to Seanan McGuire and Rosi Kampe, what could possibly go wrong? Gwen has been through a lot already so enough is enough right? Now it's time to start fresh, or is it? With a new Chapter, comes new problems for Gwen and even a New Vigilante Name! I know, Ghost-Spider sounds corny but if she likes it, then I like it. SPIDER-GWEN: GHOST SPIDER #1 is a high-energy continuation of the Spider-Gwen story. There's great storytelling, plus eye-catching artwork. I highly recommend it for fans of the character, as well as new readers. Read Full Review
Though aimed at younger readers, this is one fun book that most superhero fans will enjoy. Read Full Review
The writing from Seanan McGuire, especially Gwen's internal monologue, is fun and breezy and reminds me of old school Spider-Man. Rosi Kmpe's art matches the writing and the spirit of the character. Read Full Review
Unfortunately, there’s no full on symbiote teeth bared yet, but if you can look past that, this is a solid introduction to a new chapter in the Spider-Gwen story. It can feel a little like the dialogue is trying too hard at times, but the story kept me interested. The visual artists are making a much appreciated effort to make long term fans of the series feel at home. If you’re a fan of the character, you can have a good time with this one. Read Full Review
The issue is a good one serving as a direct tie-in to Spider-Geddon and continuing the interesting events from there. A new world to explore always has me interested in seeing what's going to be done differently and that has me wanting to come back for more and see what's next. Read Full Review
Spider-Gwen Ghost Spider #1 is the start of a new series, but stars a familiar face with familiar feelings. The story is a tie in but is semi-self contained, and the art is reminiscent of the old series without feeling like a copy of it. Read Full Review
A smart writer, a talented artist, and a great character still need some time to figure things out. Read Full Review
Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider #1 is a comic that would've been great if Marvel didn't force it to be tied into one of their big events. From the story Seanan McGuire created in the first seven pages of this issue there is a lot to be compelled about Spider-Gwen's current status quo. Unfortunately the unnecessary Spider-Geddon tie-in hurt Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider launch issue. Because of that it is tough to recommend this comic to anyone except those reading the Spider-Geddon event. Read Full Review
The work that McGuire, Kmpe, and co. put forth on this issue is solid, even if the issue overall is hindered by having to tie in to Spider-Geddon. Once that event is in the rearview, I'm looking forward to seeing what this new series has in store for Gwen. Read Full Review
I'm not sure what the appeal of this series is, other than the fact that the main character is Spider-Gwen. Read Full Review
The clever writing is great--but the art is the real kicker.
This was a solid continuation of Spider-Gwen. I wish it wasn't immediately thrown into Spider-Geddon.
I don’t really know this character but I guess this is good!
Totally accessible for this newb to Spider-Gwen, and totally fun. Very much a work by Seanan McGuire.
I get it that the first half was a recap for anyone not reading any spider Gwen comics but that could have all been in a two or one paragraph section in the beginning. The story didn't really wow me or had me on the edge of my seat. Although the art was on point! Still confused on the symbiote deal
The first part on Gwen earth was interesting & I wanted more of this. Mostly thank to her diner with Harry. It was a nice scene.
Then enter Spider-Pig & the Inheritor danger. Less fun, and less nicely done. Maybe too fast.
And then the boring ... I'm stranded in a world I don't know anything about. Not what I wanted to read, even if Gwen encountering Peter was nice ... Don't tell me the goblin was MJ, please !
Cover - I not like it, but that was the only one I found at this price. Not bad, but not related. 1/2
Writting - Bumpy, like if Mcguire didn't know what to do with this character. Shame because the start was so good. 1.5/3
Arts - The layout & panel have some good moment but much more of bad moments. And more
