The Unworthy Thor #2 is a fantastic second chapter in what is proving to be a brilliant mini-series thus far. The creative team brings the thunder, the misery and the pain of the unworthy Odinson in a way that has my full attention. I cant wait for issue #3. Read Full Review
The second issue of The Unworthy Thor is a showcase of what great writing and an invested creative team can do. This issue cemented this series as a top title on anyones pull list for sure. Everybody loves a good underdog story, and one featuring the former God of Thunder is an unlikely one, but the question that remains is how much more punishment is Odinson going to endure before his luck turns around? The Unworthy Thor is one of the best books on the market right now. The Odinson is at his lowest point searching for redemption and I can't wait to see what comes next. Read Full Review
The storyline is more complex than it first appears, so when you find out why The Collector is stealing Asgard it's shocking – though it allows us to really learn about Thor and why he's worthy. Even though he's stripped of everything that we associate with him, his honour and values remain. Read Full Review
It's stories like this one that remind you the Marvel movies have way more ideas to mine for the films. Aaron and Coipel continue to write a fantastic Thor epic that accomplishes everything you'd want in a cosmic story. Read Full Review
Between the terrific bond between the two hammer-wielders and the frightening depiction of the Collector, Aaron reminds readers once again why he ranks among the all-time great Thor writers. Read Full Review
Though the Odinson hasn’t been on the scene that much as of late, Unworthy Thor #2 puts him back in the spotlight in large scale and unexpected way. Re-adapting to his voice with ease, Jason Aaron swings for the fences in a big way, both in terms of plot and character and through he’s only two issues into this latest story, he’s already displaying a high batting average even after all the time detailing Jane Foster’s adventures. Along with the pencils ready made for a heavy metal album cover from Olivier Coipel and rich colors by Matthew Wilson Unworthy Thor #2 proves that age old adage that the first time is luck, but the second time is skill. Aaron is off to a great start with what could well be a fantastic redemption story. The twist villain at the end promises to up the ante throughout the series and the artists are certainly giving it the high standard it deserves. Read Full Review

Unworthy Thor #2 made the stakes real for Odinson taking back this hammer that really should at a time like this be wielded by someone worthy. If Odinson seemed challenged before, this creative team cranked the dial in a way that makes you want to see how far he will go for something that is now within his reach. Read Full Review
Aaron is building a compelling action mystery here, everything we could want for a story about the Odinson kicking around the cosmos. This may just be a spin-off mini-series, but it's nearly as damn good so far as the regular Mighty Thorcomic. Read Full Review
Another perfect issue. I don’t know what to say without sounding like a broken record
A seriously cool issue. Beta Ray Bill has strong character, and the dream sequence was thoughtful and disturbing.
I loved seeing Beta Ray Bill back with the Odinson again. We are also getting a very different Thor from what we have got before. The broken Thor trying to regain his worth is an interesting arc to put him in. I do start to wonder how long will we be seeing the old and the new (in all the heroes) before the old goes away?
Very strong second issue with a gray cast: Beta Ray Bill, the Collector, and, at the end, Thanos. Aaron snd Coipel bring it.
This was a so much better a start than the premiere. The art is wonderful. The storyline quest to claim this 'alien Mjolnir' sounds promising but then so did the God Butcher run which ended up a mess. And Odinson's long undeserved absence has definitely left a taint to overcome. This was a solid chapter, Bill was a great guest star, and the last page surprise appearance a must see teaser.
After two issues I still don't get what story they want to tell in this comic. They want to begin restoring Odinson as Thor, but it's quite clumsy as for now. We just discover a series of unfortunate events for Odinson with surprising characters passing by. It's very well executed though: it's never boring, the dialogues are great, the inner voice is perfect and the artwork is splendid.
