Silly storylines and throwaway characters coupled with some pretty nice art make a book that should be read by zombie fans

I'm a huge Horror fan and this worked for me on multiple levels so I would definitely recommend it. Actually I'd recommended this whole run as the next issue looks equally interesting as this one.

As a more “mature” Power Ranger fan this series, like the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series is perfect for me, it keeps close enough to the show that you feel like a kid again while growing with its audience for a more grown up story telling. The art is stunning in every panel from the first page to last and getting to see a closer look at how they became the team we know and love is great. This is hands down a 5 star book.

I've enjoyed the art with run as cartoony style surprisingly works perfect for the story and overly graphic kills. This book needs to be on everyone's pull list 5 stars.

When it comes to annuals these days they're not usually part of the ongoing story they just exist to get us to buy more comics, ideally an annual should be a jumping on point for new reading to get up to date on what has happen in the past year of the title. But that said this is a solid five star book.

View Issue       View Full Review

Overall it's an okay try at a sci-fi book but needs a little something more to push to make it a good sci-fi book.

If you've seen the show you'll know that it doesn't take itself too seriously, the Walking Dead it ain't. Where the Walking Dead builds characters and focuses on the trials and punishments of being a survivor in a world not worth surviving in and letting you grow to care about the team before shockingly killing them off, Z Nation focuses on over the top gore while killing off members of the team before you actually care about them removing all shock value.

I Enjoy a creepy 'tales from the crypt' type story and this one falls dead centre. I've not read anything from this publisher in the past but if the standard is this high across the board I might check out their other titles. If you like a good underdog story with hint of creep then this is a good title to check out. I look forward to the next issue 5 stars.

Not that I need to say but it's clearly a five-star book for any MMPR fan.

What a fun read this is, tiny teddy bears and unicorns fighting side by side against the forces of evil is something you don't see everyday. It's done so well here with some truly outstanding art, the 22 pages fly by with sheer enjoyment as we follow the cutest team of heroes in comics.

I can't lie, this title has been one of my favourites each month and this issue is a prime example why. The war of the Rangers looks like it could be its own mini series and the glimpse into what could have happened if Tommy stayed with Rita is fantastic. Seeing Zords from Rangers yet to come and the sad loss of one of the Rangers at Tommy's hands make this one of the best issues in the run. If this series keeps this pace it's going to keep its place in my top five books each month.

The art is very retro that fits with the crime style of the book, clean lines and smooth colours counter balance the dark nature of the story itself. I'll have to go back and read this story from the beginning because if it started as strong as it finished then this whole story is a five-star read.

As a fan of everything horror I enjoyed this book very much and recommend it to other horror fans. Even without reading issues 1-5 this issue gets a solid five stars from me for the idea and creepy final page.

Overall it kept my interest for the length of the book which is what you want from anything you read. Had I read the last issue as well I have no doubt this book would be a five-star book but with this being the only issue I have it drops a star. Great art and a well written story make this a solid four stars.

This book would make a great start point for a parent to introduce their child to the wonderful world of comics.

The art has changed over the years somethings for the better sometimes not but the story has never slowed. This title has had some lovely art with great fight panels to compliment the story. Fans of the game should be reading this and going back to read years 1-5. This title for me has been as strong as the previous years so it gets a full five stars.

The idea alone is fantastic, to take the loveable, happy and bright characters of J.M Barrie's Classic Peter Pan and transfer them all so fluidly into a real world staging deserves a round of applause, having the lost boys and the Pirates all together without them seeming forced or silly took an amazing eye for creativity and storytelling.

For this one I'm giving it 3 with it losing points for being a little too Annie heavy.

Since rebirth Detective Comics has been one of my must read titlesas the story has beenexcellent and the art outstanding, the build up to this issue has been fast paced with no signs of slowing down, this issues has some gorgeous full-page spreads with a stunningly drawn tender moment between Batman and Spoiler. If you only buy one Batman book them this would be my recommendation.

In just a single issue this book has made me care about Kyle and his well-being, I'll definitely be back next issue and no doubt until the end, being a six issue mini series (something 451 does so well) I expect a neat, compact story with some great characters.

Mikey isn't your bog standard superhero but he is becoming a superhero in his own right, with the climax next issue to what has been one hell of a ride this is one book I cannot recommend enough. Either pop back and pick up the individual issues or wait for the trade, either way this is a must read.

This one shot gives us a little extended family for Rick and Carl as we meet Jeff, Ricks brother as he shows that Rick isn't the only hero in the family. The book has the overall feel of the regular series with the black and white panels only ever spliced with red when blood is flowing. The story is simple yet hits hard in the last few pages. This could have been a stand alone series companion to the regular title much as Fear is to the TV show, sadly this one shot is over far too quickly.A strong addition to any walking dead collection and worth a read.

A sad farewell and a massive well done to Clay McLeod for a story that made me laugh and cry and a huge high-five to Matt Timson on an amazing job with the art, You guys rock and I can't wait to see what you do next. The art is outstanding I would even go as far as to say flawless. The story is interesting, a somewhat murder mystery and is fast paced for a first issue while still taking the time to introduce all the players, this is a four issue mini series so the story will be compact and quick.451 hasyet to release a title I've not loved, if you've not checked out their other titles Humbug and Self Storage they are fantastic! This gets a solid 4 stars.

This book is far too cute to be this dark. With a cast of characters that look like Funko Pops this should be a happy-go-lucky title of rainbows and lollipops but if I Hate Fairyland has taught us anything it's that cute kids killing things can be awesome. This book feels a lot weirder then I was expecting and it works against it as it feels very random and the writing is choppy and broken, I'm not sure what language it's translated from but it feels like something was lost in translation. The idea is solid, an 8-year-old obsessed with serial killers and enjoys killing people should be hilarious and fun but it feels forced and dull. The art however is simply gorgeous, I cannot fault the art in this book on a single page it's a joy to look at.It's dark and sad in places and just not fun at all. I was looking forward this one after seeing the cover but Sadly this only gets 2 stars from me.

This quarterly title has had me hooked since issue one with its over the top violence to its witty one liners as our two heroes travel the countryside on a mission from the queen to save the lands from beasts and man alike. The action doesn't let up for a second as Norgal does what he does best and lop off heads on almost every page. The art has been some of my favourite out there while the writing hasn't let this book down with some fun interactions between the leading man and lady. Agatha is simply a joy to read with her snark and sarcasm always on hand to help Norgal remember why he hates her so very very much. It's going to be a long wait until the next story early next year. This is a fivre star book no question.

I wasn't too sure going into this one as it seems like a bit of a daft idea, but as I read on it was actually pretty good, it's written well with Jason being a likable loner that just wants to love her while Wendy doesn't seem to want that now that she's gotten her new body. The art is simple but very well done with smooth lines and soft colours, the facial expressions are some of the best and I really like this smooth look in a book. Although the book starts with the possession of an innocent woman's body The book takes a darker turn when Wendy is threatened with exposure and the next issue will show how far Jason will go for her. I enjoy a good thriller/Horror title and this one is better than expected, dark and creepy while having emotion and humour make this a great all round book so it gets 4 stars from me.

I've not read any comics set in the biblical universe but I actually enjoyed this one, with strong language, nudity and heavy violence this is not for your younger readers. The art is fits the time of the book and isn't bad, at times it feels a little cluttered on a few pages but overall it's pretty well done. Having not read issues 1-3 i didn't feel too lost in this issue which is always a plus and the final page made me want to read the next issue which is what you want from any comic.

As a fan of the movies and the to show I'm probably more the target audience than those unaware of the Evil Dead franchise but I truly believe that anyone new reader could pick up the trade for Furious Road and enjoy as much as I have. Sometimes with books the story feels like the writer are trying too hard to be cleaver or creative and original but this feels easy and simple while being cleaver, creative and original. This whole creative team have done an amazing job at bringing a story that's easy to follow, full of action and interesting. This is one of the titles I look forward to the most each month.

View Issue       View Full Review

The overall story has been interesting enough to keep a reader happy but I am glad we finally get to see what Mikey can do, 3 issues in doesn't seem like a long time to wait but reading monthly it feels a little long, this might read better as a trade but that's not to say it's slow, far from it, it's just that after the amazing first issue cover I've wanted to see the Elasticator in action and this issue gave me just that, albeit without the costume for now but hopefully next issue.

I have to admit I get far too excited when the team morphs as the morphing panels are so much fun, something as simple as a half Ranger half Trini panel is a winner in my book. Next issue looks set to be a beat down brawl between the Megazord and the Dragonzord and its gonna be MIGHTY!

This final issue didn't disappoint as Midnighter and Apollo team up with the Suicide Squad and Spyral to take down Henry Bendix and his new creation the Unified, a combination of the tech in Midnighters head with the powers of Apollo. How can they stop the combination that is essentially the best of them both. I've not been able to find a flaw with any issue of this one until now and that flaw is simply" It's the last issue.

This latest arch has been one of my favourites from this series with amazing art that keeps you lingering on each page. The art is some of the most gorgeous I've seen, both people and zords are drawn so well. I can't say enough good things about this title and yes that might be the 90's kid in me jumping for joy that I get to read about the best Ranger team of all time, but I have to say this feels like it's written by an actual MMPR fan that knows not only who these kids are but what fans want.

The art inside is nice with some of the panels of Ash looking exactly like Bruce Campbell, the story is easy enough to follow, they want the book to send all the demons back to hell. Simple. But to be honest you're not reading for the story, it's the over the top kills and Ash's one liners that make this book worth while. Is it keeps this pace it'll keep me coming back.

Meet Mercy, Hells latest reject, she wasn't too good at the whole being in hell thing so Lucifer sent her back to round-up all the souls that have escaped…. I remember a TV show like this called Brimstone, God I'm old. Anyhoo back to the book. Mercy is damn good at her job but she's still got a softer side so when a young girl asks for her help to save her boyfriend Mercy agrees even if it means missing her date. Action and ass kicking ensues. This book was made for me it checks all my boxes… Strong female lead.. Check. Great fight scenes.. Check. Cool supernatural elements.. Check. Beautiful art and an interesting story.. Double check. Top it all off with being a nice compact 5 issue run and you have a winner. Great introduction to Zenescope as I've not read any of their work until now but I'll be sure to check out more if this is any indication of the quality of their title.

It's all good watching drug dealers turn on each other and feed them to rats but that's all you get here.Mikey's home life is tragic and it's sad to see what this young boy had to do to help his family. But I want to see him get his powers already. Imagine reading a batman book that is all about a 12-year-old Bruce Wayne…. Oh wait that's A tv show already, well yeah it's like that. But where Gotham works because we know who Bruce WILL be this is dragging as we don't know this guy.The art does save it somewhat with some gorgeous panels. The writing isn't bad it's just slow, the last issue had the pacing this one lacks.Fingers crossed the next issue gives us the title character, 3 stars!

So far the Humbuggers have taken on a far few ghosts and each time a single chain link has been left behind, could these be the links from his chain? meaning the chain that Marley warned him about awaiting him in the afterlife is getting shorter. With amazing art that is guaranteed with any 451 media title this book is stunningly done. The story is and writing is so well done that it feels like a truly original supernatural book.I can't find a single flaw with this book apart from the fact that it's only a five issue mini series. I hope it gets a second series.5 stars hand down.

The over arching story of this four part tale is entertaining in its own right with plenty of plots to keep you going between the queen trying to save her kingdom and the bog witch trying to overthrow it and her minions with ideas for their own rise to power this is a must read. The great writing stands out with serious panels quickly evaporating into laugh out loud moments. The art in this is simple gorgeous, simple yet so stunning, bold colours make each page pop and keeps you lingering to check out each panel closely. There are no hidden themes or insightful learnings, it's a naked woman cutting people up, if you've ever read Witchblade and thought 'this could be skankier' then this book is for you, maybe it's meant to be a sillier version of Withblade, a satire on the ridiculous idea that a woman needs to be wearing next to nothing to sell books.

This book is a great World War II book on its own but at times it's very heavy on the 'oh look how racist everyone is', The sad thing is this is probably a lot more mild than it actually was. Great fighter jet fight panels and gorgeous art make this a war story I didn't get bored reading, I'm not normally into this kind of book but fighter jets are cool, even the old ones from the 40's.

This was a very interesting read and even though it may seem extreme the idea is pretty cleaver and makes a lot of sense. The detail in the art and darkness of the colours make the art and story fit together very well. Although the idea is very good and the writing is solid for the most part there are a few jokes thrown in that are very hit and miss (mostly miss) because this book deserves to be taken seriously and jokes don't fit with that.

I've yet to read a bad issue of Midnighter, it's one of my favourite DC titles at the moment. The art is great, the fight panels make every battle look amazing and the stories are always fast paced, action packed and just plain fun.So far he's teamed up with Grayson, kicked so many bells of crap out of countless Multiplexes, had his heart-broken and done it all while flirting and fighting like a sexy trooper.Midnighter is about more than just fighting, he's got friends and lovers all over the world that he meets up with when he need to talk or maybe a little something, something *wink wink*.Calling him gay batman is an insult, he is so much more, he's grown so much in so few issues and that's a testament to the great writers. If you've not already picked up a Midnighter comic this is as good a place as any to start.

Just like issue 45 this one feels like nothing more than filler and an advert for the tie ins. Hey look Flash is a god now, so is batman… And superman…. And lex Luther…. And Shazam…. And green lantern… Omg ok we get it, they're all gods and they all have tie in books and it's Christmas and you all want to spend time with your families so you churn out books like this. This is a $4 book in the middle of a great storyline and this is terrible. Easily skipped in the overall story arch.

The story itself drags along at a pace that feels like the book is 50 pages long when it's only 21. It's dull and even the fantasy superhero scene is boring. It pains me to say this as I'm a big Amanda Connor fan but this is not her best work.

As a new title I'm sure I would have really enjoyed it, but being called Puppet master my expectations where too high going in. The art throughout is really good so it gets points for that, the cover promises gore yet the one of the kills is off panel and the other is a simple poisoning. I'm not into gore-porn but it would have been nice to see a little carnage.

At a glance this book could be mistaken for a slow issue with nothing more than 20 pages of talking and 2 pages of fighting. When in fact the case Eirene the Goddess of Peaceputa forward to Diane is very well written and makes a lot more sense then Diane gives it credit for. Passing over her warning as nothing more than the ravings of a grieving woman. I have to say it opened my eyes a little to what peace and war actually mean.Again like the issues before I cannot fault the art, the faces are stunning and the each panel is gorgeous.I'm a massive Wonder Woman fan but I'm honest when an issue isn't good, this is far from the best issue but by no means is the worst.

This was actually better than I thought it was going to be. It started strong, dipped a little in the middle but ended strongly. Overall an interesting story of murder and the supernatural. The art is very nice. The faces are done well and each panel is full of detail.

As soon as I saw this cover I wanted to read this book and once I read the synopsis it made me want to read it even more. Sadly it's only 6 issues but if the next 5 are as good as issue 1 fingers crossed it'll be getting a second series. I cannot wait to read issue 2.

What a great idea, it's so unique it was fun to read and the art made it even more of a pleasure. The story flows nicely, the characters are likable. Overall for a first issue it hits a lot of the markers I look for.

This title needs a new team or the old team or just cancellation. It's not working for me. That could be because it's no longer aimed at me. It's aimed at younger readers that want a happy, cartoony Disney princess Batgirl. Sadly that's not what I want.

For grabbing my attention and leaving me in awe, I have to give this one 4 stars. Jason Shawn Alexander has a winner here.

This is a very weird book. I'm guessing it's meant to be. The art is childlike and simple. Bright colours and plain panels make it easy on the eye. Jumping in five issues makes me wonder if I've missed anything of note. Not a lot happened in this issue, so maybe it's a filler issue to the overall story. I'll never know as I don't plan on revisiting this title.

This book is a little all over the place. Demons and Angels, giant talking rabbits and gnomes. It's hard to get a grip of what's happening. For a first issue I feel like I've joined at the tale end of a story. The art is playful, a little too childish for the story.

REVIEW: Storm Surge: Dean Koontz's Frankenstein #1 reviewed on October 21, 2015 by Dawn of Comics rated 1.0 of 5

Such a fun book. The simple art makes it easy to enjoy and the idea of Jesus and Satan having a baby made me chuckle. Satans baby shower panel has a few hidden gems. The giant penis with a vagina is both hilarious and gross.

View Issue       View Full Review

This heroine looks like Captain Americas sidekick, but don't let that fool you, this girl is the MAIN attraction. The idea of a hero born again and again when there's a war is a great concept. The pacing was good and the art is great. The lead is powerful without being cocky and the mystery of the agent that knows who Victoria is and what he wants is interesting.

View Issue       View Full Review

It's a bit choppy, a little too much going on in a singe issue. With so many teams all doing their own things it's hard to see a through point. I'm sure as the series goes in all with intertwine but, as it is, it all feels a little too separate.

It's a very entertaining little book. It's kid friendly but adults will enjoy reading it too. This would be a fun book to read to your little ones to get them into comics.

Do you enjoy massively over the top fight scenes with a lot A LOT of head lopping? Then this is the book for you. It's such a fun title. The comedy between Norgal and Agatha is hilarious. The art is over the top cartoony in the best way. Norgal towers over everyone but has the tiniest of heads.

Giant robots vs aliens? Yes please. Can't go too wrong with massive battle scenes. Set it over a hundred years ago and now you've peeked my interest. I was really looking forward to this title after seeing the cover. However the more I read the more I lost interest. As it became less sci-fi and more supernatural I got bored. This month has been very vampire heavy and I was looking forward to something else. This is still a good book. I just would have liked it to stick to the main premise.

Ok so it's weird, really weird. It feels like it's meant to be an adult book but the language used is very pg-13 while the art of Roxi is very grown up. It's gorgeously drawn, switches from cartoony to dark gothic and back very beautifully.

Being a massive fan of the TV show, I was a little taken aback when I saw this issue, however the longer I read it the more I felt like I was reading about the Peggy I love. The bond between Peggy and Sif felt natural. Peggy refusing to join Shield and Fury telling her she would be a great asset or a serious threat was written well. Dum Dum and Peggy integrated perfectly. It's very well written and the art had that retro feel to it.

This whole run has been very well written and has made of these not so well know characters not only likeable but interesting too. The art is fantastic and the pacing is perfect.

Actually a good book. Very few written words most of the story is told with the beautifully dark art panels. It's only a 4 issue mini series so it's clear the pacing will be very fast.

This issue was actually a pretty good build up issue. It felt like the start of a horror movie, it had everything you want from horror. I really enjoyed it. The art is great and for the first time in a long while all the characters were likeable. It's gonna be sad when we start to lose them one by one. If I'm being honest I have to say it felt a little like the walking dead. Almost like a prequel until the vampires.

It's full of badly drawn sex, boobs for the lads and penis for the ladies, violence and what I can only assume are meant to be emotional scenes that lose all impact with the lack of detail on the faces.

View Issue       View Full Review

Lobo doesn't miss a beat with its pacing. The action scenes are beautifully done and the fights make you feel that none of the lanterns are safe. The evil mind of Sinestro having the might of Lobo working for him makes for a very dangerous combination for everyone else.

It's a teen+ book which means it's not for kids and it's really night. From threatening to see how many hot coals he can fit inside a guy to cutting a guy's face in half. It's violent.

View Issue       View Full Review

It's a sad story told very well. The art is great. For what it is, I can't really fault it.

This whole book was just weird cartoon violence and sex. I'm sure it'll have a fan base but it's not for me.

The action doesn't stop in this comic. Having a threat so big even Wonder Woman and Superman are out gunned is very interesting to see. Deathstroke being the anti hero, having to say the day after being the one responsible is great to read. The art and the writing make it not only easy to read but a pleasure.

It's drawn very well, the fighting panels are laid out well. Having just joined the overall story is lost on me. The fight did make me laugh with Dicks smart mouth going to far as almost kissing his doppelgnger and then the doppelgnger almost kissing him. I would rather have seen Grayson as Nightwing. But it's not a bad book.

Harley has quickly become one of the most popular titles in DC's arsenal and this issue makes it easy to see why.

The real Ghostbusters are drawn to perfection, it felt like I was watching the classic cartoon. The movie ghostbusters on the cover looked a lot more like the actors then inside but that takes nothing from the overall feel of this book. It has it funny moments, mostly from Peter as always.

This was a fun little book. Very inoffensive. It wasn't as funny as maybe it could have been. A couple of little chucked here and there. The chapters are very short so you never get bored, However for a TPB it feels not only too short but it's not a whole story. It's very much a younger persons book, not much for the older reader.

Such a cute little book. The art is actually quite magical, brings back memories of childhood. The misunderstanding of chores is very funny, you feel for Wirt who is such a nice kid and just wanted to help. The mean girls with their faces hidden made them a little more sinister.

View Issue       View Full Review

With the art so close resembling the actual cast it makes it so easy to read and feel like your in the Star Wars universe. It switches between the two main plots well. You don't feel like your being taken from one to another it flows smoothly.

What a fun issue. The art makes it a joy to read while Bizarro's lines though tricky to get to grips with at times are funny and cute.

I have to be honest I didn't think I would enjoy this book half as much as I did. Even the beginning few pages didn't spark my interest. But once the girls showed up it became a hoot. It's funny, it's really funny.

This is not what I thought a Donald Duck book would be like. I was thinking slap stick with plenty of jokes. You get neither. This was not for kids. It's tones of world economy and spiritual awakenings don't play to what kids want to read about, nor most grown ups for that matter.

The art let's this comic down. It's just not very good. It's sloppy in places that tends to put me off.

What a stunning book. From the story to the art it's gorgeous. I love the idea of a dream world that's always there. The idea that there are evil beings inside causing nightmares. I loved it.

This is not an easy book to jump into. I was vet aware that I was behind. The art made it worth reading it all. If not for that I would have stopped. From what I could get of the overall story it reminded me of Astro Boy the movie. It's not a bad idea it's just not a book to dip into.

This book is very Scooby Doo'ish. School kids hunting monsters. It looks like the main girl has some powers or maybe will have them soon. The books had good pacing and kept me interested. Can't fault it for what it is. The art is great and the story was really well written.

View Issue       View Full Review

Interesting idea. Far from original but interesting nine the less. The story moved along nicely and it didn't feel like I'd missed the first 4 issues. It's easy to jump into which shows some good writing here. It has potential as long as it doesn't go too far into the superhero style book and more of the lost kids looking for family and make it about heart over action.

There are simply too many tie in books to this Battleworld thing that don't add to the overall story of the event. Unless you're a hardcore Hulk or Captain America fan pass on this one.

View Issue       View Full Review

Both of these stories are very short and seem little more then filler in a book that doesn't even really need to printed. The art in each story is so different that it's a little off putting. In no way is the art bad. Both art types are gorgeous it's just that side by side they don't go together.

Not a bad issue really. Judging this issue alone with no prior knowledge of the story I have to give it a strong 3 star. Though I didn't really know what was going on its still a good book. If you've read season one. Then you will like season two.

We get a lot of switching between the U.S., Russia and the Chanderlier a space station on the asteroid belt. Lots of infighting and arguments between everyone involved. Without knowing the characters it's hard to tell whose side to be on.

This is essentially a cooking show in comic form with all the back stage bits thrown in. Intertwined with the bonding of a father and daughter after what appears to be years of absents. It's not a bad book for what it is. with It's deep insights into family and the details of the recipes shown while cooking made it a very interesting read. Added to that the great dark artwork and this book is something special. The inner workings of television competition coupled with real feelings of love and hate between the three makes you want to see what happens next.

The whole issue is monologued by Thanos and his tone of disgust at having to be nice is brilliant. His lack of any kind of humanity is clearly shown in simple looks. His plan is genius, gain their trust get them to gather the gems and simply take them.

This is a very strong issue. From the pace to the artwork I can't find much wrong with it. Magneto and Red Skull have a clear dislike of each other that's only going to add to the story. Now Magneto is at full strength however Red Skull should watch himself.

A simple story with simple art, its a good little stand alone issue, nothing special. if you like Spider-Man or Star-Lord then its worth picking up. if not then i'd give it a miss.

This is a very confusing issue for a jumping in point. None of the gods seem to like each other. The tone of this book is dark and it's trying far too hard to be grown up. The tweets were disgusting to read. I know things like that happen but some words should never be in a comic, yes the C word is used but the vulgar language put me right off. The whole book talks about rape like its something every man is thinking about. Not for me.

View Issue       View Full Review

The whole issues was just them all talking about the most mundane things like straightening an out door projector screen.

There are a few cameos in this issue we see zombie versions of Lady Deathstrike and Electro battling Punisher. In Salvation we see Iron Patriot, Daredevil and maybe Black Widow and an A.I.M lacky.Captain America, Namor and the Human Torch are all seen in a flash back panel as are Giant Man, Hercules and Ironman.
