But Why Tho? - Swara Ahmed
Dec 23, 2020Overall, The Amazing Spider-Man#54LRis a great installment in the "Last Remains" storyline. It makes great use of Peter Parker's supporting cast and allies while delivering profound emotion, action, and an almost constant source of adrenaline. In many ways, it has all the elements of anAmazing Spider-Manstory without Spider-Man actually being present, and it works to great and unique effect. Read Full Review

Dec 27, 2020On the other end of this issue, we have Norman Osborn and Mary Jane's arc. There are some interesting revelations there that will most definitely have consequences in the main story. Despite my misgivings about Marvel's numbering methods, the LR issues are really good. The reason that I stress the numbering situation so much, is that readers (like me) might question their importance and may skip over them. If you want the full story, without any confusion, they are required reading and it's time to play catch up if you've missed any. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - wolfcypher
Dec 24, 2020This issue may look like a tie-in for the events happening around Peter and Kindred, but it really serves as the true conclusion to the previous story arc "Sins Rising" as the Sin-Eater plot is given its proper resolution. That said, its a solid issue that continues to give the Spider-Family (sans Peter himself) the spotlight. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez
Dec 26, 2020Amazing Spider-Man #54.LR accomplishes all it set out to do in bringing all the players in the 'Last Remains' to where they need to be for the finale. Everything that goes on here comes across as important to the greater story Nick Spencer is telling in 'Last Remains.' That will be good for readers that are reading these tie-in issues alongside the main 'Last Remains' story but could hurt those that are not when reading the finale in Amazing Spider-Man #55. Dec 23, 2020I am totally lost for words (ironic, right!) when it comes to this run. How can it go from amazing scores to average score in the space of an issue; it's called Amazing Spider-Man, not Average Spider-Man. Truthfully, it comes down to pacing and the editorial need, from the Big Two, to write for a trade paperback audience at the expense of a monthly audience. With one issue to go, I am still interested in how this goes. Guess I will find out in a couple of weeks. Read Full Review

I'm super hyped for the next issue, but this was good too. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds, and I just really hope it sticks the landing, because this arc has been so good.

The Amazing Spider-Man Issue: 54.LR "Last Remains: Fallen Order" Part V Publisher: @marvel Writer: Nick Spencer & @ashcan.press Artist: @federico_vicentini_artist , @takmiyazawa & @inkerscott Colorist: @erick.arciniega Cover: @marceloferreirahq & @davcuriel Letterer: Ariana Maher In this latest installment of the "Last Remains" story arc tie-in, the Sin-Eater finally confronts the Order of the Web to cleanse their sins. Meanwhile, Mary Jane is also set to also confront her longtime friend Harry Osborn, aka Kindred in an attempt to stop him and save Peter. However, things are actually not as they seem. This was an exhilarating issue and without a doubt the best of all the tie-ins. I truly enjoyed how this issue start more

This was surprising. And very well done. I really liked these tie-ins and can't wait for the finale next week.

Best .LR issue of all. The menaces are all coming for Peter: Kindred, Norman, Kingpin... How is it going to end?

Probably the best LR issue and its pretty solid. The ending was actually pretty interesting and definitely adds more dread to the finale.

The best LR issue and actually quite an important chapter for this story so finally we end the LRs on a meaningful chapter and Vicentini actually delivered nice pencils for this one that helped the intense drama. Miyagawa just doesn't fit the tone of this book. Very hard to wrap up the threads in one issue but we'll see next.

Kindred's big plan comes together, and even though the Order of the Web wins a fight, things look rough for the good guys. An accelerating plot, solid dialogue, and good art all combine to make this run toward the climax a lot more satisfying than the set-up issues -- at least for me.
