The time for investigation is over. The hunt begins, as Erica Slaughter brings her namesake to the monsters of Archer's Peak.
Something is Killing the Children is off to a spectacular start. It's a moody, tension-filled comic that has paid off incredibly well. Most of all, it's friggin' terrifying. This is a comic that will stay with you for some time. Yes, it has a literal monster that eats children, but that's just one level of the horror. It adds this additional layer around how loved ones and the community at large can be affected. Now that Pandora's Box has been opened and we see just how deep this rabbit hole is, I can't imagine what's in store for these characters and I cannot wait to find out. Read Full Review
Dell'edera crafts a wonderful world for these characters and the art reflects both the tone of the story, but the feel of the moment. The fact that most of the story takes place in a cave is brought to claustrophobic clarity by Dell'edera and the brilliant use of shadows. Read Full Review
Something Is Killing the Children #5 is yet another frightful, claustrophobic entry into James Tynion IV's horror series. Read Full Review
Something Is Killing the Children #5 was another intense addition to this series. They somehow managed to heighten the emotional connection and toll even further here, while forcing the story onward. Only time will tell what the ramifications will be, but I can't wait to find out. Read Full Review

BOOM! Studios are using their version of the Dark Horse model extremely well. It may be the tie-in or licensed titles that ensure the most units per month, but that allows for the company to put out books like the excellent Faithless and of course Something is Killing the Kids, both of which are hugely popular. Whether it be the monsters under the perceived bed or the blonde Buffy type monster killer, this book is proving to be a breed apart. Read Full Review

While Im not going to claim this is a perfect series, it does have its flaws, it is a good, tense horror story with a lot of potential, and this issue really ramps up the horror aspects. Now that Ive had the chance to catch up with the first five issues, this is definitely a series Im going to be keeping on my pull list going forwards. Read Full Review
I couldn't be enjoying this series much more. Fantastic writing and outstanding art combine to bring a terrific concept to life. Can't wait to read the next arc.
My favorite issue of the series. Really good writing and art and we start seeing some more horror. Love Erica and highly recommend this issue and series
So many dumb choices god bless.
A bit of a step down with the artwork, but this remains an interesting series.
Dark, exciting and spooky. Some of the action is not clearly communicated in the art at times though.
This was alright. I'm just becoming disenchanted. I saw the "twists" coming. I need something more in my horror, I guess.
I don't get the general hype around this. The art is average, writing is simple, the story is not quite engaging that's grabing on the 2 simple ideas. Finished after volume one for me.
