Horror! Death! Uh...Face-punching! Witness ten all-new stories that promise to be the most terrifying, most shocking and most horrific comic that DC Comics has ever published! (Hyperbole much?) Batman, Wonder Woman, Guy Gardner, Swamp Thing, Zatanna and more of your favorite heroes face unspeakable horrors from the streets of Gotham City to the darkest sectors of the universe.
If you sit in the middle of the Venn diagram of super hero fans and horror fans, Cursed Comics Calvacade is a must-read for you. Show this comic some support because I desperately want to see more like it, and not just every October. Can you imagine an ongoing anthology comic like Creepy or Tales from the Crypt set in the DC Universe? I'd be all over that and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Read Full Review

Cursed Comics Cavalcade #1 reminds us what being that youthful comic book reader of supernatural titles was all about, especially if eerie tales incidentally involving superheroes were our joy. The adult fan in us will appreciate the added explorations into folklore, speculative science, and the characterizations of familiar heroes, some of whom don't truck with the mystical on a regular basis. As a collection, it consists of many more bite-size Mars bars than generic peanut butter kisses. Read Full Review
All told, Cursed Comics Cavalcade #1 is a gorgeous exhibition of some of DC's top talent telling a variety of fun, spooky stories with their star characters. There's nothing life-changing in here, but it's a solid collection and well worth your time. Read Full Review
Over the course of 10 terrifying tales, the individual stories have highlights, like Zatanna's journey on a haunted hayride, and lows, like Wonder Woman confronting a mermaid monster, with each story offering readers more macabre stories than usual in one horror-themed compilation. Read Full Review
As with most anthologies, there were some real winners and also some misfires in this one. The highs were incredibly high, however, while the lowlights were all still fine if forgettable stories. With a fairly steep price tag, we wouldn't recommend this volume toeverybodybut I would recommend it to most. It was interesting how many of the stories ended on a high note, with no real sense of lasting dread, but all in all, we enjoyed this volume quite a bit. Read Full Review

While there are a number of duds in this special, there are equally as many stories that will surprise you! With entries like the ones featuring Wonder Woman, Etrigan, and Katana/ Black Lightning, I'm confident you'll find your money and time well-spent. Read Full Review
I'd rather be watching Tales from the Hood. Read Full Review
Overall this wasn't too bad. There were a couple stinkers, but anyone who plans to read this alone on Halloween in the dark with only a flashlight to light the book might find a bit of enjoyment, wholesome or otherwise. Read Full Review
Unfortunately it wasn't all a cup of pumpkin spice latte. Some of the other stories were out-of-place for a Halloween story or just plain hard to read. But the structure of compilation was saved by closing with a fun little story with Zatanna in “Haunted Hayride”. Read Full Review
This book was a bit of a mixed bag. There are some stories such as the Batman, Wonder Woman, Black Lightning/Katana, and Zatanna which I thought were very strong, and others that seemed out of place or were just poorly executed. I like that DC puts out these holiday-themed offerings and theres enough good in this book to recommend it. Read Full Review
Another mixed bag of stories, with a couple that are pretty good, a couple that are pretty bad, and the majority of them are shrug-worthy. Too much investment for too little return overall, me thinks. Read Full Review
Very enjoyable.
Decent collection of stories, more good than bad.
The art was good, great art team, except in the Guy Gardner one. I dont like Riley Rossmos art. I hope he changes my mind with the new Martian Manhunter mini. Anyway, the Etrigan short story was the best! I feel like it would have been even better if the Batman and the Etrigan stories were bigger, 30 pages long each.
The Wonder Woman story would have benefited a lot if it were more adult, more gore, and less "oh my mommy taught me about love!". It was weird seeing that terrifying monster while WW talks about love. They should have focused more on the monster story and the little bit of gore it needed. This story also needed to be bigger.
Basically, i dont like these halloween/ Christmas/ Valentines day specials because there are more
Some of the stories were good, like the Etrigan one and the (shocking as it is to say) Swamp Thing one. Some were bad like the Green Arrow one or the Black Lightning and Katana one. Also, while the Zatanna story was cute and stuff, it didn't really fit the horror theme so that was a letdown because Tynion IV can definitely do horror.
Some of these stories were better than others.
