Tragedy has brought Gotham City to its knees. Countless people are dead, seemingly at the hands of the Next Batman. Gotham demands justice, and Red Hood has vowed to answer their call. Even if that means beating his way through Nightwing and the rest of the Bat-Family to do it.

Jason Todd really needs a break. Let the boy take a vacation or something. I really hope things get straightened out soon, so Red Hood can come back into the fold. so that the rest of the family can eat their words. I don't see that happening in the next issue though, not with the way Future State Gotham #2 ended! I need to know what happens to our favorite disaster boy next! Read Full Review

I enjoyed City of Bane, Joker War, and Future State. And now the prequel to Future State, but how can we "catch up" if the Future keeps coming at us. Ponder that as you read this comic. Is it good? Yeah"but it should have been in Black & White where it belongs. Read Full Review

This issue was a real spike in quality for me. The story finally found its footing, and it took off running. I'm actually excited to see what happens next, and I was not expecting that with the way this mini opened. The art was also far more appealing to me this time around, and I hope it sticks. The backup story is also fun, I really enjoy John Ridley writing Jace, and I like that the character is being fleshed out. Read Full Review

Continuing to draw heavily on manga and cyberpunk sources with high energy action in a dystopian setting, Future State: Gotham pushes the overall story of Gotham forward with surprising and fun revelations, though they can't quite make up for the thinness of the plot so far. Read Full Review

Unless you need to get everything Future State, I wouldn't even think of buying this book.  Dipping back into an Event most readers have already left behind to do a lame manga ripoff is nothing I will ever recommend.  Maybe as a digital title, but even that would be pushing it! I got to say - I didn't expect to be pulled back into this book as much. This issue displayed that Bruce was still alive and Red Hood has to be saved from joining the Magistrate and choosing a bad lifestyle. The ending where every inmate is out of prison was amazing and the backup was well written and illustrated. I may just have to put this back on my pull list!

to be honest,I wasn't betting on this comic but the revelation surprised me. Reading how Bruce is acknowledging that Jason is his only strong card, the only one with the strength and cunning to configure the plan made me fall in love with this.

Very interesting premise and world building for Future Gotham. This new Batman doesn't have the reputation of the old one... and now he's got a huge target on his back. But the real focus is how Jason is handling his mission and his interactions with the family. This is going places, I'm intrigued to see where.

Also the back up issue is from the B&W series and it was one of the best stories from that. The art by Olivier Coipel is absolutely stunning and seeing a new dynamic duo take out some thugs is entertaining.

"I'm sending you to the one place I can't go. Because you're the only person who can do this mission"
    Bruce Wayne.

"Jason's always been..confused about his methods, but his heart is usually in the right place too."
    Tim Drake.

Future State Gotham has a easy narrative, may it's looking for a younger market. This is the first volume I have taken of the event, and it doesn't strike, and it isn't bad. The lack of manga-like color is not very convincing to me, but I accept it.

The story is relaxed, funny and what are comics made for if not to forget about reality. Therefore, in my opinion this comic fulfills its objective.

Definitely not disappointed, it was the mediocre writing I was expecting, if there were some nice things, but coupled with the bad black and white art is a bad job, I really only buy it because it is Red Hood, but if DC is doing the what he does with Batman, Nightwing and superman, what can you expect.
So get out your crayons and draw .....

Predictable, yes and no. I know, because it was the most logical thing, not because it is DC and is immersed in making Red Hood an enemy of the family, otherwise I will say that it was not so bad.

I have to say, I expected better from Williamson, I didn't like this as much as I was expecting. Also, shame on DC for rewriting a story from Batman Black and White from a few months ago just to get those sweet extra-bucks, that's just totally disgraceful. And it wasn't even a good story at that.

I suspected it, I liked Bruce and Jay's alliance, as well as Jason's white streak, Rose was serious about dyeing Jay's hair.
The family is beginning to suspect that there is something more to Hood's betrayal and the trap they set for him is evident.

Not a fan of the art. Some panels look almost like layout sketches. I guess that's the style they're going for here. Maybe I'll get better at distinguishing the characters eventually.

Is that Duke wielding Jefferson in the sword? It doesn't look like Jefferson holding the sword, but Duke is never named so maybe I'm just trying unsuccessfully to figure that out.

Is Jason reminiscing about Rose (Ravager) in one panel? I guess that makes sense if he's thinking of someone else who can predict moves. But -- Dick doesn't read the future, he just has insight and instincts, so, no, the connection to Ravager is weak and the whole thing vague. Plus - it's kind of an obscure moment. Looking back, she did appear in 2 panels in #1 more

This is real? if it's because I even spent on it. Demons. phew, what does one do for their favorite comic book character? But it's terrible, I laugh, I cry all at once. there is not color! Someone kidnapped the cartoonist or has already been abducted! and they end up with a comic already published in another. LOL. Damn XD universe. it's crazy.
The writing is very youthful, decent ...

Why the hell are they still with that shitty character from the next Batman? Tim Fox only stains the image of Batman, a guy who during his appearances in the comics is only hatred and envy, he could put Luke or another character much better or even invent a new one, but this guy totally despises him, a mobster, son Family troublemaker, he doesn't even have good reason to be a jerk and now he run over and run away killing a person. A character who is bad in essence, I don't know who came up with that Tim Fox was the best candidate to replace Batman.

I'm not enjoying this at all. I don't know what is up with the art, but it looks unfinished. And really? You're going to put a recently published Batman: Black & White story as the backup? How cheap and wasteful, tbh.
