Doctor Fate has assembled his Lords of Order, and it means certain destruction for the Justice League Dark! As Doctor Fate traps the magical community on Earth, the team fights against the Otherkind. The walls are closing in on them, and they'll need to find a way to stop Fate if there's any hope for magic's survival!
Furthermore, its great that Tynion IV pays homage to his source material, particularly that of Doctor Fate with a great link to the Dark Multiverse. Add in the stellar art of Alvaro Martinez Beuno who successfully captures the world of DCU magic plus the characters with all their emotions perfectly, including the M.C Escher feel to the Tower of Fate and this was easily my favourite issue of Justice League Dark and I for one cannot wait to see how it all unfolds! James Tynion IV's Justice League Dark continues to be one of the best books in DC's stable, packing every issue with enough action and suspense for an event comic. Read Full Review
This was another strong edition of a comic that remains at the forefront of DC's most consistently entertaining titles. Tynion just needs to start showing some cracks with the villains to offer up some sense of hope that the team will be able to turn the tide. Read Full Review
Its clever, funny, makes the most of its concept, and is a damn good read. What more could you want from a book? Read Full Review
The art from Alvardo Martinez Bueno and Miguel Mendonca is stunning from start to finish. Everything is visually beautiful, especially the characters. Great looking issue. Read Full Review
I'm genuinely worried. The writing and art in this series has me totally invested in the story. The characters are most human bunch of wraiths, demi-gods, magicians, elementals and human/animal hybrids in all of comics. Earth is in trouble, and Myrra is on the front line. Waiting thirty days for issue #10 is going to be torture. Read Full Review
This is shaping up to be my favorite arc of Justice League Dark thus far. It's the natural continuation of various seeds planted earlier and the culmination is proving to epic, and I have to commend Tynion IV, Martnez Bueno, and Mendona for bringing such an ambitious tale to the page. Its difficult to discern whetherJustice League Darkis redefining magic within its pages or whether this creative team's transformative ideas are magically writing the comic for them. Read Full Review
This is yet another solid issue which continues to further the palpatation-inducing tale of excitement. Read Full Review
That's not necessarily a bad thing. I enjoy some mystery, but at a certain point, I want some immediate gratification. There are always a few weeks between issues, and with no major developments, it can feel as though the story is slogging along. Hopefully some payoffs will come in the near future, and we can get some awesome conclusions to this arc. Read Full Review
The Lords of Order's Secret Origin is interesting and all, but we probably shouldn't have sacrificed story momentum to hear it. Or maybe we should; I don't know exactly what rites and sacrifices that are necessary to defeat the Otherkind. Read Full Review
There's been a lot going on in Justice League Dark as of late, and while the story's start to tie up some loose ends, there's still a lot left to be desired. Read Full Review
Say it ain’t so.
GOD THIS IS TOO GOOD! Giving JLD to Tynion was a great idea! I hope he stick around at DC for many years!
This is DC Comics' best ongoing series right now. Tynion continues his epic fantasy with all the quality that has been consistent throughout so far. Things are getting crazier with the fall of Etrigan and the Rise of Dr. Fate's Lords of Order.
Things are really heating up in the order fandom.
Damn, what an issue that redefines Doctor Fate and his relationship with its hosts. This gives perfectly good cause for Nabu to do what he does. Ripping Jason Blood and Etrigan the Demon apart and leaving Jason for the time to catch up with him is badass, proving in addition why Doctor Fate is not that someone to take lightly, apparently Fate taught Merlin himself. In all seriousness the comic finds time to make fun when Blue Devil enters the scene and greets Doctor Fate normally unaware of what has happened earlier and then he quickly makes sense of it all and as he asks Bobo, "I missed something important, didn't I? Is Doctor Fate a bad guy now?", So cool. The art is really making a splash in Wonder Woman and Zatanna's quest for answers.
Continues to be great.
Really good issue.
A tad decompressed but still one of DC's best comics.
"Who let the crazy mad scientist learn magic?"
Once again Bobo proves to be the most straightforward and down to earth "man" in this title. Half of the things he says is gold.
First I want to compliment the art in general, it's great, but especially the beginning of the issue. I think it's by Miguel Mendonca and he managed to make a golden helmet, an inanimate object, look extremely menacing. The one panel with helmet alone, surrounded by magic energy and glowing "eyes" is quite something.
And the arc itself is picking up the pace in part 2. Some of the heroes reunite to fight the Lords of Order, some are separated from each other in a rather violent and unsettling manner, and, what is not that surprising i more
