I just started reading this run from the start and was reading some of what people were saying. I just wanted to say this was a great review!

Seriously, you need to be reading this book. Read Full Review
The team on Black Widow is remarkably well-modulated. Everyones work on the book seems to sharply support everyone elses work. A team rarely feels this in synch. Once again, Adam Hughes cover artwork serves as an appealing opening to the eighth chapter of what is rapidly asserting itself as one of the most reliably good monthly comics on the rack this year. The team supreme delivers another top notch book. Thompsons characterization and dialogue is fresh, and gives each of the cast members distinct personalities. Meanwhile Casagrande and De La Torre bring their A-game here, and gives us flawless characters, a liquid sense of movement when theres action, and each character is distinct from each other. I hope Marvel knows this golden nugget on their hands. Read Full Review
Casagrande and De Latorre delivers some fantastic art throughout this issue. Not only are the quiet moments filled with great detail and style, but the action is fantastic and thrilling as well. I loved the Arana escape sequence for its visual flair alone. Read Full Review
Black Widow #8 builds the current storyline well as the trio of heroes continues to search for information concerning their elusive query. Read Full Review
The comic ends on a cliffhanger that would be more effective if we thought for even a second Marvel would be willing to kill off Yelena. Still, with the White Widow down, things are getting complicated for Natasha. Read Full Review
Black Widow #8 gives us a few thrills and new pieces for the puzzle that is Apogee's final plan. Yet, it doesn't really clear the picture much. One could almost skip this issue except for the last few pages which are the ones that really matter for the story going forward. This week's Black Widow is okay, readers get some progress, and the art fits the tone of the book. However, it was difficult to regain my attention and focus after the word salad at the beginning of the issue. Read Full Review
The Apogee hunt heats up. Anya goes from spy mode to spider mode to stop the creation of more super-goons. Nat, with Lucy's help on intelligence gathering, makes a timely rescue of Yelena (though things go sour at the end). The ample action is perfectly balanced with some terrific introspective moments for Nat and Lucy. The art is gorgeous, featuring outstanding collaboration between the two pencilers. This is a practically perfect slice of action-drama, with great roles for all four characters.
Hard not to feel the anxieties in this issue. Between a cult of power brokers, Black Widow is grappling with some difficult feelings. A scenario was forced on her but she loved it anyway, to have it ripped away is anguishing. It's why she wants to protect who she can like her current ward after being coerced into getting powers. Also the dynamic between her Yelena is great, having the White Widow as the muscle looks and feels pretty good. She's the straight/blunt foil to keep Natasha on the path. She doesn't even keep Natasha from being the nurturer, because Yelena is lucky to have Natasha watching her back.
Also the whole presentation of working in plain sight works wonders. The way people go about their day is so captivating wh more
Probably one of the best fe.ale led superhero titles ever. Almost as good as kamala khan
A great work from collaborative writers, none drop the plots and subplots that are happening.
Kind of a slow issue, but still pretty good. I read this pretty much right after seeing the movie. I don't have much to say about this issue in particular, so I'll just review the movie here, fuck it. SPOILERS, of course.
Black Widow is a movie that I had little to no expectations for. It's been delayed so much, and it's a flashback movie more or less. So what could happen that's all that astounding? But I really fucking enjoyed it. I came away from it liking MCU Black Widow more than I did previously. I thought Marvel did a great job with her family too. I know we'll see more Yelena but I definitely want to see more Red Guardian as well. Both of them were great. Yelena, especially. She's my favorite chara more
The boring, plain art brings this one down for me.
