WHO INVITED THE HELLIONS TO THE HELLFIRE GALA?
Who thought it was a good idea to invite the antisocial HELLIONS to the fanciest bash of the year? Oh, no one? They weren't invited but they showed up anyway? Yeah, that sounds about right.

    COMICON - Scott Redmond Jun 3, 2021

Hellions consistently at the top of the pack when it comes to the X-Line of books because it's a gorgeous engaging fun character development-filled series focused on broken and flawed people who have found their own little family niche and are just trying to make it. There is so much heart and pain surrounded by delightful humorous moments that make this entire issue a delight from start to finish. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - Braidon Schaufert Jun 2, 2021

This Hellfire Gala tie-in issue of Hellions leans toward comedy and consistently nails the punchline. Wells and Segovia get the balance just right as each character gets a moment to shine or get dirty. Readers might expect fashion, but they will be dazzled by the depth of the character interactions at Marvel's biggest party. Read Full Review

Overall the Hellfire Gala continues to shine. This was a fantastic issue and we got to see the Hellions really let their hair down. Even though they don't always seem to like each other, it was great to see them come together and support each other. Read Full Review

    Black Nerd Problems - Ja-Quan Greene Jun 4, 2021

Hellions #12 really was a fun side of mutants to dive into and enjoy for its theatrics and melodramatic moments. The Hellions are usually off on some Bast forsaken mission, so it's nice to see them interact with everyone for a change, albeit on their worst behavior. Stephen Segovia is putting in work on these panels! He takes Wells' violent yet tender script and makes magic out of the misfits of Krakoa. I've enjoyed a few issues of Hellions thus far, but there has been nothing like this bad boy right here! Guess that's what the Hellfire Gala will bring out of you. Read Full Review

The Comicbook Dispatch - Dispatchdcu Jun 2, 2021

Readers, even surrounded by a stuffy shindig, Wells finds a way to make the HELLIONS the center of attention. Furthermore, I can't think of another X-MEN title where the characters are growing as much as this eclectic cast of personalities. Readers, Zeb Wells is creating a family out of a bunch of rejects and outcasts. And if he can do that with this crew, I can't wait to see what's next on his agenda! Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - David Harth Jun 9, 2021

Hellions #12 is a fun comic. The Hellfire Gala isn't a traditional multi-part story, so there's a certain amount of wheel-spinning that has to go on, and this issue does it entertainingly. Wells and Segovia do a fine job with this one, fitting in character development, a lot of great moments, and an ending that bodes well for the future. Read Full Review

Segovia's pencils shine once again and while the issue is a bit directionless, Wells's writing is witty as always.Hellions#12 doesn't change the course of the title, but it is a fun time. Read Full Review
