This issue was so off the rails that I honestly had to go back and re-read the first two issues to make sure I was reading the same mini-series. Not good...

OK...I admit that I have only started reading Captain Marvel recently because of the inclusion of my favorite X-Man (Psylocke), but DAMN!...this is some good sh!t. The story is nicely paced and while I'm not very familiar with Captain Marvel, I'm able to follow along. But as good as the story has been, the art in this issue is NEXT level. Very much looking forward to the rest of the issues.

Thank you Zeb Wells, thank you Stephen Segovia, thank you creative team. Hands down, the best X-Title during this era. With only 18 issues I've come to care about obscure (somewhat novelty) characters more than official X-Men members in the "main" books.

I know some have taken issue with Eleonora Carlini's art because it is outside of the "psuedo-realism" comic book norm, but I love it. Each panel looks like a 'still' taken from a high-quality animated movie (e.g. Don Bluth's "The Secret of Nimh" or the more recent "Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse"). It's unique, but in a good way. Again...I love it.

I am so glad Eleonora Carlini is back because I'm really loving her stylized art. In an earlier review, I had said it reminded me of what I imagine animation stills would be from a Don Bluth animated movie or "Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse," but after reading this issue, I think that an even better comparison for Carlini's art would be Nickelodeon's "The Last Airbender." I am also happy to see Steve Orlando build upon the foundation he laid in the first arc. Now that the Marauders have fulfilled their obligatory A.X.E. tie-in, I hope this story arc will have more "room to breath" and not seem as rushed.

Solid issue. I'm glad Steve is using the past story arc as the base for this new one. Time travel is not my favorite sci-fi plot device, but if Steve Orlando is going to use time travel in the way that Kate Pryde is suggesting, it may become more of a semi fleshed-out "character" for this story rather then just a convenient plot device. We'll see... And the art...I LOVE IT! With Eleonora Carlini's style of art, I'm somewhat expecting the Last Airbender Ang to make a cameo in a panel.

Great premise, great story, and great art. I like the "consequences-of-actions" and sense of danger that has been returned to the X-Men/mutants post-Krakoan resurrections (e.g. the fact that Psylocke and Penance are introduced as hit-and-run mutant partisans makes sense now that the odds are stacked against them and fatal mistakes they make can't be corrected through resurrection). Overall...Great Start!
