Seeing kid Jon was great, and I like Dick in the mentor role, but this issue was really Jon focused, assumes readers are reading his book, and nothing really happens other than what seems like a red herring at the end. Now, I don't just want a bunch of info dump about another book, but the Truth isn't introduced well. What is it, and why is Dick investing? How does it fit in with his safety net plan? How does he even know about it? Also, isn't Jon only 17? Is he living with/dating some dude in his mid-20s? These are questions I think should have been addressed here for context, but honestly I don't care enough to go find out (other than the age thing because that really bothers me). I'm not currently reading Jon's book, and this issue did nothing to change my mind. I'm debating even picking up the crossover. |

This was ok. The art was distracting; it felt more sloppy than stylized in parts. SPOILERS………. SPOILERS! I’m usually a big fan of the Riddler, but his inclusion here seems odd and underwhelming. He doesn’t seem as threatening as he has recently been portrayed, and the clues/riddles seemed different as well. Also, I thought the suspicion that Riddler was involved was going to be proven false, so this reveal fell flat to me. |

There are some moments I really liked, and the art is good. However, a lot of the remaining heroes are former Justice League and are adults. The idea that only kids or legacy characters are left behind doesn’t work. Nightwing, while the first sidekick, is one of the most experienced heroes in the DCU, has led multiple teams, and has been an adult solo hero for years/decades. Having multiple characters call him some variation of kid is just annoying. Vixen is also not a kid or sidekick, nor are various other characters. In fact, some characters that are shown were in the JL, but not the Titans, which makes the rallying cry confusing. (Speaking of, where’s Tempest?) I’m guessing a Titans book will be coming out of this event, but this just seems like an odd framing. There’s a lot of focus on group names instead of just rallying heroes to battle villains, which is more what I thought this issue was intending based on Oracle’s direction to call at the beginning. |

Overall, I was disappointed. There was no follow up to last month's mystery, no confrontation with Heartless, no NML style jail battle. I'm not thrilled with the end, but knew it was coming. The art changes were jarring to me, even if some of the spreads were individually very nice. There were some nice character moments too; I just expected more from this milestone. |

The Legion of Doom bit was amusing. I had some issues with the future bit. It was nice seeing the characters there, but the comments about speed force connection bugged me. Just let that be Wally's thing. DC already seems to have issues differentiating Flashes, so I think highlighting other strengths/abilities makes more sense than stacking them each generation/iteration. |

I really like the first half of this issue. The bit of mystery and tension were fun prior to the action. I even enjoyed the first bit of action. I was disappointed with (1) the last half/third of the issue and (2) the feeling that we're losing Dick's voice a bit. (1) Dick was barely in it. The Titans are pretty powerful, so if they're always on call the stakes of the book seem unbalanced. I think it makes sense Babs called them, and Nightwing can't save Dick Grayson without help/shenanigans, but I'd really like to see Nightwing shine in more solo action. (2) The "revelation" Dick has that he doesn't have to go it alone makes no sense to me considering he's had support this whole run. Also, I'd like to be introduced to characters through Dick. The issue assumes the reader knows the Titans without any inner commentary (Wally, my best friend and the fastest man alive!) or context beyond generic people who care with name drops. Additionally, we still haven't seen Dick's thoughts/feelings about recent events with Babs. I want to see more of Dick's thoughts beyond the grander ponderings presented here. |

This comic had a moment I've been wanting to see for a very long time. It was great and moving and everything I could hope for in a "Dawn" title. Then, of course the plot kicks back in gear, lol. We have a mystery to solve and energy riding into the next issue. The art was solid. I like all the character designs. Roy especially stood out to me. |

I really liked this issue! Nightwing looked great, saved a bunch of people, and had a crossover that felt like a natural inclusion to his ongoing story. Wally is one of my favorite characters too, so it was great seeing him here. I am a bit burnt on crossovers, so I aas concerned about this issue, but I think it was handled well by keeping the focus on Dick's life. |

I really liked this issue. It gave me everything I wanted as well as some surprises. The fight between Nightwing and Blockbuster was great. The art was dynamic, and I loved how Dick moved through the sequence. I really wanted to see Dick dominate in a fight, and this succeeded while still allowing Blockbuster to be a formidable foe. One gripe I had is that the "damage" to Nightwing's suit just looks like circles. There aren't frayed edges or flap material or scorch marks. The suit just seems oddly glued to Dick's body. (Digital version) Dick/Babs interactions were mostly great. I would have tweaked some words, but overall I loved the positive focus on their happiness and being there for each other. |
