The epic Darkseid War continues as the League is forced to unite with their evil counterparts, the Crime Syndicate, to defeat the nigh-omnipotent Anti-Monitor! Plus, what is the terrible secret behind Superwomans newborn child?
The Darkseid War, and Justice League #48 in particular, is the best-case scenario for all things DC, and hopefully a great sign of things to come under Johns' stewardship of the "Rebirth" era. This issue has high stakes, awesome action, a great balance of characters, spectacular art and all-round perfect execution - this is the kind of comic that excites people, the kind of comic you hope to find when you go to your comic shop every Wednesday. This is Johns and Fabok and ultimately DC at some of its best. They say war is hell, but whoever said that has never read Justice League. Read Full Review

"Darkseid War" is shaping up as my favorite DC Comics story/event of all time. It feels like it's been going on forever, and I don't mind at all. Each issue has been excellent. Part eight is no exception. Read Full Review
This is the endgame for this run of Justice League, so readers and honestly DC fans in general need to be experiencing this as the final moments unfold. Im as critical and cynical a reader as they come, but even after reading this issue three times, theres really nothing that can be faulted. Its so very rare to find a comic like this. This is sequential art at its finest and thats what the Justice League deserves! Read Full Review
Justice League #48 is a high action pulse pounding entry that understands the narrative it's trying to tell. Add in a creative team that knows their stuff and there's no doubt that before the next era begins this opus will leave its mark! Read Full Review
Justice League #48 continues to be an unabashedly grand and epic super hero tale.Justice League #48 is another engrossing read. Johns pulls the reader deeply into the story and captivates their attention. This is an issue that is easy to get lost in. If you love the super hero genre and love when a writer embraces the genre for all of its strengths then you have to read the Darkseid War. Read Full Review
I wasn't a huge fan of The Trinity War and liked but didn't always love Forever Evil. Yet, those stories were absolutely worth it to bring us to this moment. Short of Snyder and Capullo's Batman, Justice League has had the strongest book from issue #1 in DC's catalog. We've reached the point where no matter how this ends, something will profoundly be changed in the DCU. Read Full Review
We have a blockbuster epic on our hands in "The Darkseid War." In dealing with themes of godhood, though, you need to go big or go home. Fortunately, Johns and Fabok take "Justice League" #48 and go super-size. Read Full Review
Justice League#48is lax on the Big Bad enacting his final Master Plan for dominance, Mobius makes an impression on one character. When issue #49 arrives, he will have his hands and Shadow Demons full with another. With the clock winding down on the future of the DC Universe, and just how the “Darkseid War” will end up affecting everyone involved, Geoff Johns, Jason Fabok, and Brad Anderson keep the momentum going full steam as Act 3 reaches its peak to a universe shattering finale. As you know by now, it's not like me to spoil final pages. This time is no different, but I will say a lot happens in those closing moments. None of us will want to miss the Justice League: Darkseid War one-shot that's coming soon or issue #49. Read Full Review
Simply said, this issue was another home run for the creative team. It continues to be the highlight of my pull list every month and I'm, sincerely, excited to see where this goes and how it leads to the massiveRebirth. Read Full Review
Johns continues to deliver with Darkseid War, and considering it's one of the best stories to come from the New 52, it makes me happy to see this title close on a high note! If you're not reading this arc, I strongly encourage you to pick it up! I haven't been let down yet. There's fantastic storytelling, and some great character work! Read Full Review
Big event series need to be more like this. Sure the story doesn't go too far, but damn is it epic and it's filled with moments that'll get you talking at the water cooler. Read Full Review
Now that it is public that Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok are leaving the title, Im sure we are going to get something really special here in these last two issues. In just this issue alone, we got to see the Green Lantern Corp, Justice League/Crime Syndicate team-ups, and Lex Luthors parademon armydefinitely feels like the creative team is pulling out all the stops as they near the conclusion to their last arc. At this point, I could not be happier and cant wait for next month. Read Full Review
The stake is high and the story is coming to an end. Another great Justice League issue, and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next. Read Full Review
Even this close to the end, The Darkseid War hasn't lost its appeal. This epic story arc is delivering all the amazing art and big character moments readers could ask for, even as the already large cast grows even bigger. The villains could stand a little fine-tuning, but hopefully Mobius and Grail will return to the forefront of the conflict in the final two chapters. Read Full Review
The series feels a bit padded, but it's been a lot of fun, too - so I'm hanging on to see where it all goes. Read Full Review
Good god, it's a battle! That's right, the majority of our issue is played out as a big ass battle pitting our Justice League and the Crime Syndicate against the former Anti-Monitor and even though I have some questions about what the hell some of our heroes were doing during this battle, it was still enjoyable as hell and looked as amazing as it always does. So yeah, not a lot of progression in story, but we've got a shit ton of characters coming in here and it was real fun watching them get down and dirty. Read Full Review
JUSTICE LEAGUE features DC's biggest characters and Geoff Johns is giving us his biggest story yet. The long-running story continues and the surprises keep coming. Jason Fabok does an incredible job on the art and Brad Anderson's colors are top notch. This is definitely a story I'll want to read over again. This is what a Justice League story should be all about. Read Full Review
Another chapter of Darkseid War has come and gone, with this issue ramping up the storyline and the action ramping up, the finale is at hand. While Johns delivered an entertaining script, Jason Fabok deserves more credit for the sheer impact some of these moments had. Also Ultraman needing kryptonite like crack will never not be hilarious. I can't wait for the climax
Simply Awesome
Oh Man, Things are getting pretty crazy, can't wait to see what happens next!
Top-notch content here, such as the dialogue. Also the situation is more clear but still basic questions remain unanswered.
I realize that Geoff John is the Chief Creative Officer, but someone tell him to stop lumping in more characters, this is ridiculous! The Green Lantern Corps is unnecessary and add nothing to the story. If you wanted them in the story so bad, they should have showed up to battle Anti-monitor's drones in the nick of time, that would actually be exciting, rather than show up and add nothing to the mix. You could have used the pages that the Corps wasted to establish a setting instead. All the character boom to a bright white city that I assume the Anti-Monitor is currently destroying? Nothing about that is explained, a page to establish that was desperately needed, you can't just strip the comic down to nothing but action and leave the readermore
After all the glowing reviews that have been posted for this issue I picked up a copy off the shelf to read before buying it. I put it right back on the shelf where I found it. I have absolutely no idea what everyone else see's in this comic?
