Wonder Woman’s adventures through the Sphere of the Gods continue as she embarks on a quest with the cunning Ratashok to search for answers. Something is changing the rules of the Norse afterlife, and it’s up to our hero to set things right. Now she must face warriors and beasts of mythic proportions, starting with the Nidhogg! Can our Amazon Princess survive this staggering serpent?
Meanwhile, in a seemingly simpler time in our hero’s life, a younger Diana continues her journey to uncover the secret behind the scriptures that hold the hidden history of Themyscira. Is she ready for the truth? Or will it change her perception of more
The new direction for the main Wonder Woman title seemed a bit disappointing at first glance. Still, as the creative teams settle into the second issue, the title seems to be gaining some creative momentum that is breathing a bit of fresh air into the character by placing her as an amnesiac in Asgard and showing her sophisticated emotional energy in early adolescence. The new status quo has just begun, but we're already treated to a story that has Wonder Woman hero shaming Thor, meets a giant snake, an eagle, murk elves, with a demi-goddess omelet, and that's just in the main story, while we continue Diana's history lesson of the Amazons of Themyscira in this cute 10 page backup. Still, cover to cover, it's a stellar issue and is makes a strong case for this being one of the best Wonder Woman stories in years. Read Full Review
I love Wonder Woman as much as the next person, but my passion for the character is so elevated as of late from the recent Yara Flor series, Immortal Wonder Woman, and now these utterly fantastic two issues. I cannot praise this run enough, if you have the opportunity to read it, please do so! Read Full Review
Wonder Woman has had a streak of excellent comic book runs since Rebirth, but none has quite gone outside of the box like this bold new status quo. Read Full Review
The whole team brings out their A-game for the second issue of Infinite Frontier's Wonder Woman. While the issue is still hurt by small issues present in the script, it can't be denied that this is the most exciting Wonder Woman story in years. It's entirely possible that the next issue of this series could be perfect, and there are few series that can be consistently said about. Read Full Review
Both artists deliver beautiful imagery throughout the issue. While the styles are different, they both perfectly capture the tone of the stories they are telling. Read Full Review
Taking it all in together, Wonder Woman #771 delivers another pair of good stories. With the main tale seeing Diana venture where Im guessing no god has gone before, and the secondary tale leaving an eager Diana to take up a quest of her own, the creative teams here are certainly keeping the demi-goddess busy. Heres hoping shes up to her respective challenges. Read Full Review
The mystery around why Diana ended up in Asgard and what is actually going on around her was a good continuation of the story started in the previous issue. Michael W. Conrad and Becky Cloonan add to the world by bringing in more classic elements from Asgard and giving them a DC Universe spin to make them standout. It all adds to you as the reader questioning what is next in this story. Read Full Review
This arc would probably be more engaging if Diana didnt have such a massive memory loss and could just operate as Wonder Woman in these unique settings. Its still entertaining yet not quite reaching its full potential. Read Full Review
Wonder Woman #771 is a fantastic-looking book that still has me interested in what's going on. Sure, the thrill of seeing Thor and Asgard has faded a bit, but the mystery of what is happening to Asgard and how Diana figures into it is intriguing. Read Full Review
The story so far is basically just an amnesiac Wonder Woman wandering through the familiar Norse mythology tropes and not much else. Read Full Review
This book is continuing in a really fun way. I appreciate how the tone varies from comedic to dramatic and still manages to pull both off quite naturally. Thor's comments were a bit on the noes though in a "you're supposed to hate this guy" sort of way. He was a bit cartoonish. Aside from that this is a great adventure for Diana. And of course the art is out of this world!
Still a visual masterpiece. The take on Diana is great and I like her squirrel friend. Dr Psycho is interesting and so is Odin. This might be the most accurate representation of Thor I have seen in comics. The backup feature has beautiful art, it's just not that interesting, I wish they gave it to Donna Troy instead.
This is the first comic I have been truly excited for in ages. And I loved it.
The first Issue already showed a welcome shift into a mystical and fantastic direction for Diana. The second Issue of Cloonan’s and Conrad’s run brings much the same and ramps up the fun. Ratatosk is used more. The intrigue continues. An old enemy appears. This Odin, I absolutely love. The art has improved just a tad more and the colors are positively vibrant. Apart from nit-picks, the main story brings everything to Wonder Woman I love to see. I am looking forward to how Cloonan and Conrad will write Diana once she has regained her full memory.
The backup story gets into the meat of things too. I am grateful that this exploration of Ama more
This is simply a great comic!
This run is shaping up to be stellar! The writing &art are amazing. Diana's amnesia while in the Asgardian afterlife means we see the very core of her character which makes for good storytelling. Young Diana is both cute and thought-provoking.
I can't believe how much I'm actually enjoying this book, loving this new direction. The story is incredibly fun and interesting, with some really good comedy bits as well, and the art is simply beautiful. As for the backup, I'm liking it so far, though I still cannot shake the feeling that it's aimed at the younger audience, which doesn't really fit with the main story that well.
I really enjoyed the main story as it let Diana explore Valhalla, which is very interesting to me. The backup was not as good, it feels unnecessary so far.
Solid comic.
