Allies... or a different kind of enemy? Geiger's quest to find sanctuary takes him deep inside a remnant of the old world and face to face with the desperate survivors within. When a heartbreaking discovery puts them at odds with Geiger, an ancient warrior is awakened with one mission: bring down Geiger, dead or alive!
The story by Geoff Johns gets very intense. Everything about it works. The art by Gary Frank is some of the best of his career. Frank only seems to be getting better and this is pretty excellent. Read Full Review
Geiger's first arc wraps up next issue. This has been a very intriguing title with clearly a ton of possibilities going forward. Read Full Review
Geiger #5 is a return to form, and I'm genuinely pumped for the finale. Let's hope we get a few more answers, some great action, and more reasons to want volume 2. Yes, I'm happier this month and really want to read more. Read Full Review
This issue is used as a slow burn plot device to get all the chess pieces in the right places for the finale in four weeks, but that is not a criticism. Many issues leave hanging plots but Johns and the team have created a simple but very effective universe here. The small touches like finally allowing Tariq to find a new book are perfect, but a small evil bit of me wants him to lose the book next issue to add a bit of schadenfreude for the readers. Frank's work continues to be great, action beats in this issue are superb, and the best thing about the series as a whole. Read Full Review
Last issue had Geiger and company running into mutant marauders, now Geiger #5 has them finally reach their destination. In this issue, things calm down for the kids while Geiger and his mutant pet Barney get the cold treatment. The comic explains what the group's package actually is and what it would mean for anyone who owns it. The facility itself isn't anything too special, serving more like a pit stop for the kids. However, things get tense again when the kids discover some darker things about the people there, and Geiger and Barney come to the rescue just as the comic teases a new enemy in the next issue. Johns has been working in comics for long enough to know to trust a pair of great artists. Hand Frank and Anderson a decent idea, and they can really run with it. The problem is that 90% of the issue is tied up in hackneyed post-apocalyptic narrative that really doesnt need to be there. Give the artist a bit more room to run with the basic iconography of the action, and Geiger could be AMAZING...a glowing warrior of the wastes patrolling the end of humanity with his vicious two-headed wolf? That would be very, very cool. Its too bad that Johns is trying to lay in so much else around a simple, enjoyably iconic idea. Read Full Review
The story and art has been outstanding. I hope they keep this series around
Issue 5 of Geiger was pretty good. A nice change of pace from the previous issue. The panels were amazing for this issue, and the art is always nice. It felt a little short, but next issue is supposed to wrap everything up for this arch. I'm happy it isn't ending though. The world they created is amazing and I want more of it.
Geoff Johns has not slowed down this series opening a lot of probability. A solid delivery.
We have reached the destination! However, it is bleak. The US is fractured, fisically as well as morally. Let's see how it develops. I find this series to be quite balanced in heart and plot, always joggling backstory, action and set up very well. This issue is no exception. Also, some strings start to connect and I reckon I will stay hooked on Geiger's world.
Still going strong. Issue #6 might be a showdown between Geiger and "Metallo"
Without support of corporate brands, Geoff Johns has nothing but just shitty Fallout fanfiction.
