    AIPT - David Brooke

The Amazing Spider-Man #78.BEY is a super fun, high-energy thrill ride of a comic. It's filled with ideas from horror movie icons popping up and smart tech innovations. It reads like a satisfying one-shot and yet comes with a "to be continued" at the end to make you want more. It perfectly captures the Spider-Man vibe, even though he's not present for much of the adventure. Now that's good comics. Read Full Review

A surprisingly awesome "between" issue that hits the mark on the story it's telling as well as adds to the overall big picture to this era ofAmazing Spider-Man. Both story and art are worth writing home about. Or text home about. I don't know, do whatever you want, just pick up this issue. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Collier "CJ" Jennings

    Nov 15, 2021

Amazing Spider-Man #78.BEY places the focus on the Daughters of the Dragon, resulting in a comic that plays like a superhero buddy movie. With the Daughters now wary of Beyond's CEO Maxine Danger, and enlisting the help of another superhero, I look forward to seeing more of their antics in the Beyond Saga. In fact, I'm continuing to hope that more adventures await them in the future. Read Full Review

    The Comicbook Dispatch - StoryBabbler

    Nov 17, 2021

Amazing Spider-Man #78.1 is a fun little tie-in to the main series but doesn't really add much to the main Beyond storyline. It feels like non-essential reading and is more of a fun misadventure starring Misty Knight and Colleen Wing on a side-mission for Maxine Danger and the Beyond Corporation. The quirky tone is in overdrive with Misty and Colleen as they face the new "villain" in the comic, who is unimpressive yet functional to get the plot going. Read Full Review

    Comic Crusaders - M.R. Jafri

The art throughout features fantastic layouts but looks entirely unfinished and rushed. Certain artists benefit from a great inker, and Carlini may be one of them. Overall this book feels like all the worst elements of a crossover, flimsy story-telling, rushed art, poor characterization and no connection to the character who's name is on the book. These characters deserve better and these creators can do better. Hopefully the main book gives these characters a chance to be more true to themselves. Read Full Review

It's fun. A fun tie-in. So exactly what it markets itself to be.

My rating reflects my completely unfair, completely subjective love for Jed MacKay's Daughters of the Dragon MDO, which was even wackier than this. Plus, the art's cool in a super-exaggerated way. Plus plus, ZOMG the Nextwave connection. All that being said, there's quite a whiplash jumping from #78 to this. Colleen Wing, in particular, sounds like a completely different person. I like both versions but admit they don't belong side-by-side. I think this should have been a separately-titled one-shot rather than a fractional issue of ASM.

Since it isn't really an issue of Spider-Man I'm not treating it like it is and this was pretty fun

This is not really a Spider-Man issue, so beware, although I'm sure the ending will probably come into play elsewhere. But this is Jed MacKay and he's a competent writer who writes a pretty fun version of the Daughters of the Dragon, so if you're into that, you'll like this.

Again, well written and well drawn, and of course, fun, also loved the interactions between Collen and Misty.

Not worth the price but the story and last page might matter in the long run. A weekly book with tie-ins is a bit much! Squeeze those profits I guess....bad in the long run.

Nothing special here. It was fun seeing more of Colleen and Misty and how they interact with each other. Can't lie they are pretty nice and fun as duo and that carries the issue, which certainly is action comedy oriented, exactly like a buddy cop movie. But the thing is that this is pretty much it. The issue does not aim high, but for what it is, is pretty serviceable, plus the ending was promising. The art tho was pretty inconsistent, both in style and in being good.

This isn't a bad issue it's just not a Spider-Man issue and that is the only reason I gave it a 7, I get that it's a tie-in, it still bothers me. The writing is witty, well paced. I haven't read MacKay but this is pretty cool and I enjoy Colleen and Misty being included into Ben's world. The art is very mid 2000s Cartoon Network which might not work for everyone and I would probably not enjoy it on the main title but it's interesting here.

I liked the bits with Ben, they were fun, couldn't care less about the rest of it except that last page with Monica Rambeau, I'm curious where they go with that.

I mean it wasn't horrible but, for a 5 dollar tie in, it's not worth it. Just more characters that joke around and the story wasn't too good until the end.

Well, this managed to be the worst issue of this storyline yet, I could barely get through this train wreck What awful writing, its not like the jokes were even funny
