If you’ve been reading Donny Cates’ run on Venom there’s no doubt in my mind you’ll be heading to your local book shop at your earliest convenience to pick it up, this is one of the best things happening in comics right now. And if you’re not then you need to catch up on the rest of this run then buy this one. The writing, the art, the characters, it’s all top notch. A standout issue in an incredible run. God is still coming, but things aren’t exactly looking up for Eddie in the meantime in Venom #22. But I think that’s the real niche of the Donny Cates era of Venom. There has always been this drive to the stories, along with the layered characterization, and “Venom Island” seems to be continuing that streak in spades. Not only a treat script-wise, but the addition of Mark Bagley to the title gives it a real visual street cred as a major Spider-title. Too bad Knull is going to just destroy it all when he gets to Earth. Until then, fingers crossed we keep getting fun, engaging issues like Venom #22. Read Full Review
Venom continues to be a great rollercoaster of surprises, twists, and head-turning action storytelling. Cates and company continue to prove you can stuff 20 pages with consistently intriguing material, when so many other books have so little to tell. Read Full Review
Venom #22 starts off a bit slow but when it finally picks up the pace, it really kicks things into high gear. Read Full Review
Donny Cates Venom title has had an absence of actual Venom (i.e. Eddie AS Venom, wearing the Venom symbiote) for a while now, but he manages to tell us fun action story nonetheless with just a powerless, resourceful Eddie going up against some crazy odds. We may be stranded on this island for a while, but if things continue to escalate like this, this story can only get wilder and wilder! Read Full Review

Love this shit! Eddie's son is so interesting I'm so surprised how fantastic this is issue after issue . Venom head's rejoice this is the real deal and it only gets better.
WTF.wow!.next one please.
This was such a fun issue. I loved the Predator homage.
Prelude:
I loved the start to Venom Island in the last issue. Let's see what Cates and Bagley have in store.
The Good:
I don't mention it often, but I absolutely love that cover art.
Loving Eddie's attitude on the island.
Now, that's an interesting development for Dylan. Good to see we aren't ditching him for this arc as well.
Loved Bagley's art, much improved over last issue.
Carnage was fun.
The Bad:
Nothing.
Conclusion:
Cates and Bagley continue Venom Island extremely well from last issue. I'm loving what's happening on the island and off.
Another amazing one. Only problem is that it doesn't have enough pages for me.
Buit if you've read Cates' Venom, you already knew that.

Pretty cool but I’m hoping for more next issue.
Another strong offering from Cates.
Eager to see how this all plays out.
Mark Bagley's art is great as always.
I can enjoy it for what it is -- a slightly pompous, grimdark character study -- and recognize it as a well-done comic without being tempted to crown it as profound or all-time great.
I'm excited to see how this story progresses. It has a great idea behind it but, lets see how its all executed. I wish whats going on with Dylan would be explained already.
