Bought based on the B cover and a flip through, and wasn’t disappointed. I haven’t been keeping up, but sometimes I don’t mind just cherry picking the payoff issue

I like the pacing of this 3-patter so far. Not my favorite art, but it’s just my taste… it meets the high bar set by the other pieces.

Perfect start. I want more, and I happen to know since I’m all caugh my up at this point, so I can safely say that issues 2 & 3, in conjunction with XRed 5 and ImmX 5, deliver on the setups built here. Try to go in blind ;)

This is the exact follow up I wanted. The pacing of this event has been great for me. Best action for me from Gillen since Eternals 9.

Carried by the art, but I’m content with that. The art raises the sense of stakes, which makes sense for pacing with a #3 of 6.

The pacing delivers. Some comics make promises, or half bake setups, but this event was clearly thought out issue to issue. 6 issues seems like it will be the perfect break up for this mainline of the event. I’m so glad we only have to wait a week for the next issue.

This issue was great for me, and it looks like the event only is going to maintain steam from here on out. SPOILERS ….. This issue felt like to me to be the end of Gillen’s efforts to characterize the Progenitor for us. He’s not a villain like Uranos or Thanos with alotta hard understanding behind how they think and act. For me, he really came into form in the last two issues.

Perfect first issue for me. Great art, fun dialogue, hooked for #2.

Flip through it before buying it so that you know what you’re paying $8 for. It is great art.

Great art and writing. Brilliant panels. I bought 2 more copies after reading.

Solid writing, great art. One page was particularly cool for Wolverine. Look for the variant cover.

Great art, great pacing, impressive writing. I can already tell that I’m gonna reread this book at least 100 times in my life.

I picked up the first for the art alone, and was surprised by the writing. The second is continuing to bring depth to the writing that I didn’t expect. How is this not more popular? Books like this are why I don’t settle for tpbs and omnibuses. Buy a copy for your collection, and a copy for your bedside. You’ll never grow tired of a revisit.

I don’t know how you don’t grab a copy based on curb appeal alone. The writing is only great, not fantastic, but that doesn’t hold the art and story overall from being fantastic. Tradd Moore can do no wrong.

I was impressed with the art, and I thought the writing was strong in the brevity department; both ideal for a story focused on monoliths like Galactus and Doom. It wasn’t quite what I expected, but isn’t it sometimes better that way? Ultimately, worth $7 imo, even if it doesn’t end up being a Key issue.

Great start. I walked in knowing nothing besides the Eternals MCU movie (which is basically another franchise, unfortunately), and this felt like a great entry point. I get the feeling that the volume before this would be worth reading too (I’m actually on issue 9 as I right this, so I’ve gotten a good summary at the point), but like I said, this series summarizes the past enough where I feel caught up still. Love the faces, perfect narration, love the color choices, and loving the main character. Definitely read this volume before starting AXE. You probably can follow AXE without this, but I’m sure it’ll be better with this background knowledge.

If you liked 1, you’ll LOVE 2. Grab 2 copies.

Great arc ending. I’ll leave it at that.

This was my favorite issue since #2, really lives up to promises made.

Thanos’ origin is a great story that’ll elevate Thanos for you, which is saying something about the quality of this story. Slowish start, but picks up great once names are established. Idk why but this reminded me of Silver Surfer Black 3.

Not to be skipped. Great history of Eternals for those unfamiliar. Also, great opportunity to be brought up to speed on preceding volumes.

LOVED this. Definitely not a 10 for everyone, but this is what I wanted from Eternals: lore. If you want lore, or at the very least a summary of Uranos for AXE, then look no further. I wouldn’t recommend reading AXE without this first. Just does a great job of introducing Uranos, simple as that.

If you like the B cover for this issue, then you should be following along.

One of my favorite single comics of all time. You should’ve read it by now, go get both series (HoX/PoX)!

Great start. Leaves me wanting more, but in all of the right ways. The tone is set well early, and that is important for a #1.

A perfect comic, will even stand well on its own (ie feel free to impulse buy)

A perfect comic, aside from the fact that it might stand well on its own (ie if you didn’t read 15-18)

It’s nice that the baton from Hickmann landed in Gillen’s hands. I liked the Eternals, and I like this so far.

Not the wall-to-wall action issue that the synopsis got me hyped for, but still a great character study of a character that is essential to AXE, yet I I knew little about. Essential for AXE.

I really, really like the art.

I great first issue for anybody that wants to see a trex fight a mech

It’s great when a first issue can manage setup and momentous action. Sometimes a writer/artist combo pays off beautifully, and this is a prime example.

Expected a slower issue after a nonstop first issue, but only got the bar raised further for the rest of the series. This writer knows how to bring weight to a story about robot aliens that change into cars for some reason.

All I’ll say is make sure your pages aren’t stuck together for this issue. Like any great arc, the writer surprises by somehow continuing to simply outdo themselves again and again.

I’m impressed by the nuance injected into Transformers, for crying out load. I’ll leave it at that.

Crazy pumped for the finale, I’m glad I waited for it to release before reading the penultimate, too. The wait would’ve been rough. All I’ll say is that I looked up a toy on eBay afterwards before even starting 6. Look for cover B ;)

I’m not afraid to overhype it. It’s just a comic, but it’s a well executed comic. Make sure these picture aren’t stuck together, and get ready for some solid sequences. The bar was set higher and higher each issue, and DWJ somehow still had more fuel to elevate with. I even felt the cover for 7 added to my enjoyment of the ending… that’s a rare treat to help with the wait ;)

Impressed by how they maintained pacing after the preceding arc finale. The new artist is great.

The highlight of the run for me, and it is a good run

If every event tie-in was this impactful to an event, then I’d have to buy ALOT more comics. Great standalone, and absolutely essential to AXE.

I see now how X-men Red has a 3-part arc within this event. It’s shorter than the mainline’s 6/Hex part pace, but that only makes it more potent; it is an essential leg of this event, and not to be skipped. I cannot wait for the next issue.

What’s here is great, I was just disappointed that only half of the book is the main story. $10 is a lot for this much Green Goblin art, even art as top notch as this.

I’m giving it a 9 just because there is no way it deserves the review bombs.

I was expecting more action, but nothing in this arc matched the fight scene in #2. I also wasn’t wowed by the final resolution, either. Worth a read, but doesn’t blow my mind. Still, this got me hyped for more Eternals stories, and I didn’t care about them a few weeks ago.

I personally didn’t love the direction of this arc. It was good, but I liked the first half more than the second. The art makes this ending land, and I often buy for art alone. If you can only buy one part of this arc, buy issue 1.

Definitely only optional for AXE, but the art keeps it from being just padding.

I want to catch up on Dr Stasis… can anybody recommend which issues of this series to collect just for that goal? Thanks!

Is it just me, or does the ending of 6 and beginning of 7 leave a substantial gap? Is there a tie in that I missed that covers *that* story beat?

Which other Ewing stories does this tie back to? Thanks!
