My favorite issue of the series. It gets better every time I read it. I grab a copy every time I spot one under $10. A perfect little book. |

Watchmen #5 |

I’m blown away by one segment every time I read it. Format elements are iconic, for crying out loud. It is my second favorite issue in the entire series. It’s a 10. |

Transformers (2023) #18 |
Mar 13, 2025 |
Read this book. There’s alotta reprints for issues 1-6; hunt them down and enjoy a glorious first arc. I didn’t love the 2nd arc as much, but that’s to be expected. They opted to lay groundwork, and that forethought pays off swell in the third arc. If you don’t jump in now, then you’re bound to regret it. DWJ is so hot right now. |

Ultimate Invasion (2023) #3 |
Feb 9, 2025 |
It’s alotta dialogue, but issue 4 balances it out with the action. You’re gonna need issues 3 and 4 to enjoy either. They just need each other, and maybe only each other, and I like that. |

Ultimate Invasion (2023) #4 |
Feb 9, 2025 |
I liked how short this series was, but some won’t like that. I for one was glad this story was 4 issues instead of 12. It isn’t easy to make a story like this so succinct, and it doesn’t get enough credit for that. This issue feels like the part 2 to issue 3, simple as that. |

Absolute Wonder Woman (2024) #4 |
Jan 22, 2025 |
This really shows the voice they created for the character, and it pairs well with the visuals to elevate them. |
10 |
Doctor Doom & Rocket Raccoon (2025) #1 |
Jan 22, 2025 |
This was a really cool one-shot. I thought it was better than Hickman’s Doom one shot from last year. I see alotta complaining about an inconsistent tone, but this is what I hoped for from this team up. There was one sorta cringey joke, but I can overlook it for enjoying the ending. |

Great art, and I like the setup for the finale. |

Absolute Batman (2024) #3 |
Dec 18, 2024 |
The art is fantastic. The reinventing of Batman is both very compelling internally and externally. Snyder is taking HUGE swings, and they are super interesting. |

The Moon Is Following Us (2024) #4 |

Exactly what I wanted, because the focus on action is perfect for my taste. If you love Brio as much as me, look for the B cover! |

The New Gods (2024) #1 |

I definitely should’ve read something before this, but it worked well on its own. Great writing, beautifully dynamic art. |

The Moon Is Following Us (2024) #2 |
Nov 21, 2024 |
We get some answers to questions, and we get some swell artwork. The artwork makes up for the focus on exposition, which is still folded in well with the action. |

The Moon Is Following Us (2024) #3 |

The shape of the 12-issue plan is beginning to take shape, and, to be intentionally vague…. Im very happy. |

Aliens vs. Avengers (2024) #2 |

I would’ve appreciated a little more action, considering the delays. But what is here is great. I love how Ribic draws Hulk. |

Ultimates (2024) #6 |
Nov 6, 2024 |
I skipped from OG Ultimates relaunch to 5 and 6, and the drama held up. I imagine I’ll somehow enjoys this all more once I’m properly caught up. For now, this comic has some excellent beats. |

Ultimate Spider-Man (2024) #6 |
Jun 20, 2024 |
I enjoyed this a lot, I just hoped for more progress. I was hoping for a Sinister Six throw down for arc 2, but that is clearly not in the cards at this pace. |

Amazing Spider-Man (2022) #50 |
May 24, 2024 |
What’s here is great, I was just disappointed that only half of the book is the main story. $10 is a lot for this much Green Goblin art, even art as top notch as this. |
10 |
Doom (2024) #1 |
May 16, 2024 |
I was impressed with the art, and I thought the writing was strong in the brevity department; both ideal for a story focused on monoliths like Galactus and Doom. It wasn’t quite what I expected, but isn’t it sometimes better that way? Ultimately, worth $7 imo, even if it doesn’t end up being a Key issue. |

Transformers (2023) #7 |

Impressed by how they maintained pacing after the preceding arc finale. The new artist is great. |

Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII (2024) #1 |

Solid writing, great art. One page was particularly cool for Wolverine. Look for the variant cover. |

Transformers (2023) #1 |
Mar 17, 2024 |
It’s great when a first issue can manage setup and momentous action. Sometimes a writer/artist combo pays off beautifully, and this is a prime example. |
10 |
Transformers (2023) #2 |
Mar 17, 2024 |
Expected a slower issue after a nonstop first issue, but only got the bar raised further for the rest of the series. This writer knows how to bring weight to a story about robot aliens that change into cars for some reason. |
10 |
Transformers (2023) #3 |
Mar 17, 2024 |
All I’ll say is make sure your pages aren’t stuck together for this issue. Like any great arc, the writer surprises by somehow continuing to simply outdo themselves again and again. |

Transformers (2023) #4 |
Mar 17, 2024 |
I’m impressed by the nuance injected into Transformers, for crying out load. I’ll leave it at that. |

Transformers (2023) #5 |
Mar 17, 2024 |
Crazy pumped for the finale, I’m glad I waited for it to release before reading the penultimate, too. The wait would’ve been rough. All I’ll say is that I looked up a toy on eBay afterwards before even starting 6. Look for cover B ;) |
10 |
Transformers (2023) #6 |
Mar 17, 2024 |
I’m not afraid to overhype it. It’s just a comic, but it’s a well executed comic. Make sure these picture aren’t stuck together, and get ready for some solid sequences. The bar was set higher and higher each issue, and DWJ somehow still had more fuel to elevate with. I even felt the cover for 7 added to my enjoyment of the ending… that’s a rare treat to help with the wait ;) |

007 (2022) #6 |

Bought based on the B cover and a flip through, and wasn’t disappointed. I haven’t been keeping up, but sometimes I don’t mind just cherry picking the payoff issue |

Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise (2022) #1 |
Jan 28, 2023 |
Great art, great pacing, impressive writing. I can already tell that I’m gonna reread this book at least 100 times in my life. |
10 |
Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise (2022) #2 |
Jan 28, 2023 |
I picked up the first for the art alone, and was surprised by the writing. The second is continuing to bring depth to the writing that I didn’t expect. How is this not more popular? Books like this are why I don’t settle for tpbs and omnibuses. Buy a copy for your collection, and a copy for your bedside. You’ll never grow tired of a revisit. |

Doctor Strange: Fall Sunrise (2022) #3 |
Jan 28, 2023 |
I don’t know how you don’t grab a copy based on curb appeal alone. The writing is only great, not fantastic, but that doesn’t hold the art and story overall from being fantastic. Tradd Moore can do no wrong. |

Immortal X-Men (2022) #1 |
Sep 29, 2022 |
It’s nice that the baton from Hickmann landed in Gillen’s hands. I liked the Eternals, and I like this so far. |
10 |
A.X.E.: Judgment Day (2022) #5 |
Sep 21, 2022 |
This issue was great for me, and it looks like the event only is going to maintain steam from here on out. SPOILERS ….. This issue felt like to me to be the end of Gillen’s efforts to characterize the Progenitor for us. He’s not a villain like Uranos or Thanos with alotta hard understanding behind how they think and act. For me, he really came into form in the last two issues. |
10 |
A.X.E.: Judgment Day (2022) #4 |
Sep 18, 2022 |
The pacing delivers. Some comics make promises, or half bake setups, but this event was clearly thought out issue to issue. 6 issues seems like it will be the perfect break up for this mainline of the event. I’m so glad we only have to wait a week for the next issue. |
10 |
Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #5 |
Sep 18, 2022 |
If you like the B cover for this issue, then you should be following along. |
10 |
X-Men: Red (2022) #6 |
Sep 18, 2022 |
I see now how X-men Red has a 3-part arc within this event. It’s shorter than the mainline’s 6/Hex part pace, but that only makes it more potent; it is an essential leg of this event, and not to be skipped. I cannot wait for the next issue. |
10 |
Batman: Dear Detective (2022) #1 |
Sep 9, 2022 |
Flip through it before buying it so that you know what you’re paying $8 for. It is great art. |
10 |
A.X.E.: Death to the Mutants #1 |
Aug 24, 2022 |
I like the pacing of this 3-patter so far. Not my favorite art, but it’s just my taste… it meets the high bar set by the other pieces. |
10 |
A.X.E.: Judgment Day (2022) #1 |
Aug 24, 2022 |
Perfect start. I want more, and I happen to know since I’m all caugh my up at this point, so I can safely say that issues 2 & 3, in conjunction with XRed 5 and ImmX 5, deliver on the setups built here. Try to go in blind ;) |
10 |
A.X.E.: Judgment Day (2022) #2 |
Aug 24, 2022 |
This is the exact follow up I wanted. The pacing of this event has been great for me. Best action for me from Gillen since Eternals 9. |
10 |
A.X.E.: Judgment Day (2022) #3 |
Aug 24, 2022 |
Carried by the art, but I’m content with that. The art raises the sense of stakes, which makes sense for pacing with a #3 of 6. |
10 |
Immortal X-Men (2022) #5 |
Aug 24, 2022 |
Not the wall-to-wall action issue that the synopsis got me hyped for, but still a great character study of a character that is essential to AXE, yet I I knew little about. Essential for AXE. |
8.0 |
X-Men (2021) #13 |
Aug 24, 2022 |
Definitely only optional for AXE, but the art keeps it from being just padding. |
10 |
X-Men: Red (2022) #5 |
Aug 24, 2022 |
If every event tie-in was this impactful to an event, then I’d have to buy ALOT more comics. Great standalone, and absolutely essential to AXE. |
10 |
Barbaric #1 |
Aug 22, 2022 |
Perfect first issue for me. Great art, fun dialogue, hooked for #2. |
10 |
Cosmic Ghost Rider (2018) #3 |
Aug 22, 2022 |
Great art and writing. Brilliant panels. I bought 2 more copies after reading. |
8.0 |
Eternals (2021) #12 |
Aug 22, 2022 |
I was expecting more action, but nothing in this arc matched the fight scene in #2. I also wasn’t wowed by the final resolution, either. Worth a read, but doesn’t blow my mind. Still, this got me hyped for more Eternals stories, and I didn’t care about them a few weeks ago. |
10 |
Eternals (2021): The Heretic #1 |
Aug 22, 2022 |
LOVED this. Definitely not a 10 for everyone, but this is what I wanted from Eternals: lore. If you want lore, or at the very least a summary of Uranos for AXE, then look no further. I wouldn’t recommend reading AXE without this first. Just does a great job of introducing Uranos, simple as that. |
8.0 |
Hulk (2021) #8 |
Aug 22, 2022 |
I personally didn’t love the direction of this arc. It was good, but I liked the first half more than the second. The art makes this ending land, and I often buy for art alone. If you can only buy one part of this arc, buy issue 1. |
10 |
Immortal Hulk #1 |
Aug 22, 2022 |
Great start. Leaves me wanting more, but in all of the right ways. The tone is set well early, and that is important for a #1. |
10 |
Venom (2018) #4 |
Aug 15, 2022 |
The highlight of the run for me, and it is a good run |
10 |
Eternals (2021) #9 |
Aug 12, 2022 |
This was my favorite issue since #2, really lives up to promises made. |
10 |
Eternals (2021) #1 |
Aug 11, 2022 |
Great start. I walked in knowing nothing besides the Eternals MCU movie (which is basically another franchise, unfortunately), and this felt like a great entry point. I get the feeling that the volume before this would be worth reading too (I’m actually on issue 9 as I right this, so I’ve gotten a good summary at the point), but like I said, this series summarizes the past enough where I feel caught up still. Love the faces, perfect narration, love the color choices, and loving the main character. Definitely read this volume before starting AXE. You probably can follow AXE without this, but I’m sure it’ll be better with this background knowledge. |
10 |
Eternals (2021) #2 |
Aug 11, 2022 |
If you liked 1, you’ll LOVE 2. Grab 2 copies. |
10 |
Eternals (2021) #6 |
Aug 11, 2022 |
Great arc ending. I’ll leave it at that. |
10 |
Eternals (2021): Thanos Rises #1 |
Aug 11, 2022 |
Thanos’ origin is a great story that’ll elevate Thanos for you, which is saying something about the quality of this story. Slowish start, but picks up great once names are established. Idk why but this reminded me of Silver Surfer Black 3. |
10 |
Eternals (2021): Celestia #1 |
Aug 11, 2022 |
Not to be skipped. Great history of Eternals for those unfamiliar. Also, great opportunity to be brought up to speed on preceding volumes. |

House of X #4 |

One of my favorite single comics of all time. You should’ve read it by now, go get both series (HoX/PoX)! |
10 |
Immortal Hulk #7 |
Aug 11, 2022 |
A perfect comic, will even stand well on its own (ie feel free to impulse buy) |
10 |
Immortal Hulk #19 |
Aug 11, 2022 |
A perfect comic, aside from the fact that it might stand well on its own (ie if you didn’t read 15-18) |
