In a claim I'm not afraid to make, this is the best issue of the series. When Tynion is good, he's really good, and everything shines here, from the dialogue, to the humour, to the art, despite some inking and colouring inconsistencies I found troublesome. Tynion is building up to something special, so get on board. Read Full Review

The ReviewI am overjoyed with how the return of Tim Drake is coming along and I really like how we got him back in a very direct way. There was no lollygagging around for 10 issues before we got him. Over the past three issues we dived straight back into the world of Tim Drake and I wouldnt have it any other way and no better writer to give it to us than James Tynion IV. He is one heck of a writer. The narration of his work and the character dialogue fits so well together and is perfectly believable. The art is incredible as well. Martinez draws a killer book and the colors are perfect. The whole issue is filled with dark tones and shadows as expected from Detective Comics. But there are a few warm colored panels stuck in here and there when Tim is reuniting with his team. I love that because it lets us know that yeah Tim is back, and this is good, but were not out of the woods yet. Pick up this issue, it is excellent and definitely one I want in my collection. Detective Comics has been a smashing success since the beginning of Rebirth, and this arc adds to the Rebirth lore quite a bit; especially since the reveal of Conner last issue which could mean a return of the fan favorite character. Anybody that is a fan of all of the cast should keep an eye on these pages for further developments! Read Full Review

This issue finally brings Tim Drake back into the orbit of his extended Bat-family, and that's just a joy to watch. It still doesn't make much sense to tie that into the ridiculous Mr. Oz storyline, but Tim's return makes the team feel more complete. Read Full Review

I seriously wish I could give this issue more of a standing ovation, because it has some truly great moments. But alongside those come two major headscratchers that I simply couldn't overlook. But aside from those, it's a super solid issue. Absolutely amazing art, gut-wrenchingly emotional scenes, and wonderfully portrayed characters. The good stuff was so good that I still feel confident in recommending this…even with the questionable moments included. Read Full Review

Detective Comics #967 nailed the chaotic situation this future version of Tim Drake as Batman has created by coming to the present. His interaction with the Batman Family highlighted how fascinating the character is. At the same time, it shined a spotlight on what the actual future Tim and the Batman Family will be if they all make it out of this story together. Read Full Review

You want a good comics ... Well that's it. Pick this fantastic ongoing. Tynion IV once again do a marvelous job. Not only we have the team Batman & Batwoman lead. But Also all robins et another tim. And Tynion IV succeed to make us love the Team as the Future Tim. He's intelligent enough to add some surprise in the cliffhanger & add something to the old DCU to the now. Cover - I choose the variant 2/2 Writing - Perfect 3/3 Arts - Barrows & Ferreira does a fantastic job, & some unforgettable moments. 3/3 Sentiment - Why all the Rebirth Title isn't at this level of writing ??? 2/2 10/10

Has undertones of Bruce Timm's BTAS when I read this issue. After Future's end got muddled and ultimately made inconsequential, I was waiting for someone to do a better job of incorporating Brother Eye in the DC Rebirth continuity. Tynion answered the call. It was sooner than I expected but it can have serious effects moving forward. Bruce is his own worst enemy after the Joker, the Brother Eye program was always proof of that. Tim Drake is my least favorite Robin but if I'm honest, he's the only one that can beat Bruce at his own game given enough time and resources. Let's see where that takes us.

This is a great time to be a Batman fan. This huge Batman Metal event is taking up a lot of the mindshare right now, but Tynion is writing a great arc and giving Tim Drake the attention he deserves. I have argued for years that Tim Drake is the best option to be the next Batman. He is every bit the detective of Bruce and is more driven than Dick Grayson. He is better adjusted than Damian and more effective than Jason Todd. He understands the work more than Terry and is more like Bruce Wayne than any other Robin in existence. Great art helps support the continuation of this story and Detective comics as a Batman team book has been a complete success. This comic is flushing out Gotham more and it is building up the Bat-family in a way few more

    Superheroes for Hire

    Nov 06, 2017

This story arc has been firing on all cylinders, and this issue is no different. This is exactly what I'd expect from a story about the Bat Family dealing with an unknown threat from their very midst. They still don't know what they're up against when it comes to the one really pulling the strings here. The Alvaro Martinez art is fantastic and cinematic. There's a really great Spoiler splash page that comes out of nowhere and was a treat. The only ding against the issue is I'd like to have seen Eddy Barrows continue through the arc for a little more artistic consistency. Otherwise this is as good as it gets folks!

    Oct 26, 2017

I love where this is all heading. I thought it would involve Mr.Oz more, but seeing how Action Comics handles him, I'm glad Dectective went in another direction. They really made Tim-Batman a dangerous foe and seeing the whole family together to tackle the danger is extremely compelling. The emotional return of Tim amongst them was also a great and defining moment. We still don't know the extent of Batwoman impact on Tim, but I can't wait to find out.
