Thank you! Review of the week right here!
A toast. A dance. A dinner served: Part II
Rated T+
Not going to lie, I'd be fine with this entire crossover taking place in this series, but since that can't happen, I'm just going to look forward to when Marauders picks up the "X of Swords" baton once more. Read Full Review
Can Duggan and Percy work together more? After these past two weeks of MARAUDERS, these two proved how much they get the cast of Krakoan characters while adding so many layers to the new Arakii mutants that I hope they become a staple in X-MEN comics for years to come. Read Full Review
Overall this chapter packs in the fun and excitement. The tournament is just around the corner and this chapter really upped the energy to get us ready for it. Read Full Review
As a stand alone issue, Marauders #15 (Duggan, Percy, Caselli, & Delgado) delivers an entertaining character-driven issue with humor and drama. But as an installment in a crossover, it stalls the pace of the overall story. Read Full Review
While it's mostly a filler issue,Marauders#15 is mostly fun for what it is and features gorgeous artwork to boot. Read Full Review
I think this may be the first issue in the event that I didn't really enjoy. I don't believe that the focus was in the right place. The creative team instead tried to feature every single character in this rather large cast of characters. This is what happens when you have nineteen sword-bearers and one host within this entire event. Read Full Review
For the fourth 'X of Swords' issue in a row, the swords stay in their sheaths. Read Full Review
Another fun enough issue filled with cute character moments that still fails to sell me on the Big Event as a whole. Read Full Review
I have absolutely loved this event so far! It’s many layers and deep stories are exactly what I love. Fantastic!
I believe I'm in the minority here, but I enjoyed the fake-out at the beginning of this. Aside from that, this was a fun issue filled with good character interactions and nice art throughout. This was definitely an interesting way to follow up on the previous issue and I'm glad we're finally getting to the competition.
I could do without the whole opening loss fakeout thing but I liked everything else here, it was neat to see the characters more and get a sense of who they are before they all start perforating each other.
XOS Ch. 14: Another solid chapter! Wolverine faces the consequences of his rash actions and we get more interesting interactions between contestants.
It's good and has some nice interactions between characters. Does it deliver on the hype...NO but as a book chapter, it's good and has some nice Caselli/Delgado art. This should get an automatic 5 just for the art alone! Anything below is just a joke.
Art 4/5
Story 4/5
This issue's user reviews can be divided into three categories. One is the people who always rate the Marauders series low. They have the least accountable and least dependable opinions. Users like Captain Krakoa, maelstrom, Todd A. Lonn, Magik , and TaiwanMarvel. Another is the people who enjoyed the issue, like me. And the final category are just the new accounts, some of which I wouldn't be surprised if they were alts. I won't say which, but that's something to pay attention to. Yes, I used my review as a space to call out the people who are wrong. Mostly because I don't think I have anything to add, really. The issue was good. If you consider this to be filler, just quit reading X-Men, because most X-Men issues are like this one. The idmore
haha cmon everyone chill a little. yes the first 2 pages may make you REEEE but the rest of the issue is fantastic and filled with incredible character interactions!
Fun issue! Cant wait to see more of Isca. Loved the interaction with Illyana and Nathan. Also really liked White Sword.
And lol Saturnyne really wanted that Braccock.
Both islands came to dinner with the intent to cheat, so they cancel each other out. The aftermath reveals some interesting character traits, but the end isn't as appealing to me as the beginning. I'm afraid it has a lot to do with the artist flubbing key bits of visual storytelling -- a real shame after he did so well with the Death/Storm dance last time. (Plus I'm surprised by how much I didn't want to see Magik wearing a "goofy childlike wonder" face.)
Magik's flip-flopping from stern, kick-ass war captain to excitable teenager was weird. The blatant dream sequence opening was weird.
I’m finding most of X of Swords to be completely unreadable. I usually enjoy Marauders, but the last two issues have been hell to read.
They spent all those issues without the train ever leaving the station, and when it does, it goes immediately off the rails.
There better be a strong ending or this will be one of the biggest letdowns in comics history. What a shit show.
Part 14 of 22 and it's a really bad filler .
what a complete joke of a event. The cliffhanger was just a fake and some relly dumb jokes.
