It doesn't get any better than Marauders, and you should not be missing out on all the fun. Read Full Review
The most impressive part of Marauders, and "The Red Bishop"specifically, is how well Duggan is able to juggle the various elementsof this book. There's a lot of setting up done; we get the arrival of anew threat to the Hellfire Trading Company in the form of somesurprising yet entirely logical villains, while teases of a largerthreat to Krakoa get reinforced as well. Marauders is a book thatwants to accomplish a lot, and creators with that level of ambition canoften whiff at the plate. Thus far, Duggan's consistently batting athousand. Read Full Review
Fans, there is no other Marvel Comic on the market like Gerry Duggans MARAUDERS, which is one of the many reasons as to why this series needs to be on your pull list. Pick this issue up and let me know what you think. Its definitely worth the money! Read Full Review
Overall, Marauders #4 jumps back into this mutant team doing what they do best, and each issue successfully makes you anticipate what comes next. New problems, new destinations, new enemies. It will be a thrill to see how the Marauders, and even the Hellfire Trading Company tackles all of it when rocking the boat is almost part of their job description. Read Full Review
This book continues to be electric thanks to Duggan's writing of Kate Pryde and her new role as a leader and her awkward place amongst mutants who can't actually use the Krakoan gates. A complicated web of leaders is being built here that'll likely pay off for months. Read Full Review
A fun issue delves into what is actually unique and fun about Marauders in the larger Dawn of X landscape. Read Full Review
More questions raised while still not having answers to existing ones, but overall even despite denying me enough of Storm a fun issue. With some intriguing possibilities and satisfying confrontations. Read Full Review
Overall this book stays consistent and delivers an enjoyable read. My nitpicking aside it is still one of the better series out right now. If you haven’t checked it out, you really should. Read Full Review
Prelude:
I've been loving Marauders so far so let's see what Duggan has in store for us this issue.
The Good:
Kate and Bishop really do make this issue great.
The idea of Mutant "cults" that worship the mutants is a really interesting idea.
Homines Verendi is an interesting parallel to the Hellfire Club. It'll be interesting to see them moving forward.
The Bad:
Nothing really.
Conclusion:
A slower paced issue than the last three but no less enjoyable. It sets up some interesting concepts for the future and moves the plot forward.
More fun mutant pirate adventures with Captain Kate and crew!
Art was great. Loved seeing Kate and Bishop team up. I think they could back for an interesting couple. I'm not sure how much I like how dark Kate is getting. Leaving things in people is rather harsh and dark for her character. Over all I like this series, X-Force and Fallen Angels the best of all the X books. In fact I don't care much for the others and have already canceled them as of issue 4 on them. New Mutants was too childish written and had the worst art. X-men did nothing for me. But I will admit I liked the old ladies in the last issue. Though it's bad when you would rather read a series with the villains from the story rather then the heroes. Loved the old ladies though. Excalibur just does not interest me in anyway. I loved it bmore
While I wish Ororo and Bobby would have a larger role in this series, Duggan writes a mean Kitty Pryde. Seriously, she’s pretty mean, like when she phased a pillow into a Lady-Deathstrike-look-alike’s arm. Anyways the art, as always, is fantastic. The Hellfire Club has never been more interesting
After Issue 3 was solely focused on Sebastian Shaw, we now get an issue solely focused on Kate and Bishop. Speaking of which, I thought this was a fairly fun adventure for the two of them and I liked their dialogue throughout this. I'm definitely liking Kate more as this series progresses and I'm hoping we get some nice developments with her.
I liked this issue a lot more than the previous one.
THE GOOD:
-Loved it.
-Characters have been a weak spot for DoX, except for this series, which has had consistently compelling and fun characters.
-I liked the story of this issue. Politically-infused X-Men comics are great.
-Kate maybe the best character to come out of DoX. She’s just so fun and well-written.
-I really like the idea of mutant-worshipping humans. This world has really become super fleshed out.
-The Lady Deathstrike lookalike action scene was brief, but the perfect length. Also, it was a lot of fun.
THE BAD:
-The art was the weakest part for me. It’s hardly bad, but it really is bland. I think this issue would be near-prefect if more
A slower issue than usual but still really entertaining. And man, Kate Bishop is brutal.
This is Dawn of X's "Jack of all trades" series. It's rolling through several solid concepts: Slapstick pirate antics, global mutant/human politics, Hellfire boardroom intrigue, and a compelling portrait of the mercurial Kate Pryde as the spine holding it all together. But as this issue's all-too-brief dose of piracy shows, it's harder than it looks to keep the concepts balanced.
" What a gas ! Welcome aboard young mutants ! Who need a bear ? "

We get a little bit of Storm being a badass and the team up between Kitty and Bishop was great, but the series' pace has slowed down significantly since the first two Xcellent issues. There's so much potential for this book, and we want to see more of it sooner than later!
"@#$% you, Paragon"
Good issue, but there's just something about Marauders that can't elevate this book above 7 for me.
I think it might be because of the book's indecisiveness. Is it an action-packed story about freeing oppressed mutants? Or maybe humorous "pirate" adventure? Or maybe a story about a newly created mutant corporation trying to navigate the new geopolitical landscape (that they created)?
All interesting subjects, but I feel more attention needs to be given to one of them, then the book will be better.
Still cant get over how cheesy so much of this really is but some part of me really wants to see whats going to happen next for Kate and I think Duggan succeeds in that way with his characters. Characters are great on this title even with constantly bland art dressing them. Fight scenes were engaging, exciting to read and breath life into this series. I love the way human cults have popped up adding a significant contribution to the current Xmen franchise.
