Comic book fans, or fans of crime thrillers, have a fantastic new story to follow with this first issue. The writing is sharp and the art is a perfect moody balance for a noir story worth checking out. As a new entry to the series, this issue is fresh and another fun adventure for Nightwing. Fans of the series will be glad to see a change in story to keep the overall pacing fresh. For me personally, pirates can be a fun spin to a character and having a pirate themed side quest for Nightwing is such a cool idea. Be sure to pick up this issueespecially since it releases on the fitting, Talk Like a Pirate Day.

This series has not only created two charming characters in Linnea and Parker, but it also provides a much needed fix for fans of thrillers and mysteries. Issue #3 fleshes out the characters while still giving readers a tense third act.

Issue 27 of Something is Killing the Children is focused on pausing the action and focusing purely on the drama and tension building. It adds to the histories of the characters and expands on the lore of this universe. Readers will definitely feel like this issue was worth their time and I am excited to see how it all comes together.

For newcomers to DSTLRY comics, this title offers a memorable entry point, contributing to the publisher's impressive library. While it may not deliver conventional haunts and terrors, 'Spectregraph #1' is a story worth experiencing, and will leave readers eager for what lies ahead.

Eve #5 changes the expectations of what an ending should be in unique ways. Its a refreshing close to this arc and while it ducks to day giant to certain characters, I cant help but think theyll return. This story is likely far from over.

Fans of the House of Slaughter will enjoy this issue. Readers get more depth into Jace Bouchers background, and Jolie has managed to have me worried yet excited how Jaces roots may not be familiar.

Fans of Black Adam will appreciate this follow up to the first issue. The insight, and satisfying conclusion to this one-shot enhances the first issue and manages to have some character insight while focusing on its role as being a tie in to a major event.

For those who havent checked out this series, its a great indie title and Im glad to see the second issue entertaining. Fans of the first issue will appreciate how characters are having their backstories fleshed out and Vinces cute little friend.

At $9.99 this issue may feel like a high price point compared to the typical single issues released. However, if youre a fan of the series, the new information presented signals what could come in the future and serves as a fascinating reference text. This issue expands the universe, and its a welcomed addition to the lore of the Order of St. George.

This issue was a great entry that brings in other characters in Batmans quest to stop the Orgham family. I hope the plot gets back to the battle in Gotham soon though as readers are likely ready to see how the overall story shakes out.

This issue incorporated horror into a story that has felt suspenseful and is evident on the purpose of laying a foundation of whats to come. As new characters are introduced, the plot is given a moment to expand on the moving pieces and the conflict to come bring it all together. As an entry point, it would benefit readers to go back and explore issues 1-5, however, it is a story worth exploring.

From the bright colors to the entertaining story, this issue was a fun read. It may take a little bit for someone new to get into it, but its worth checking out. I look forward to see what Howard and Boo have planned for this series going forward.

Issue #1 is a strong kick off to establish the characters and overall plot of what to expect but I wish there was more action in this issue. Fans of the different properties will still be excited for the glimpse of monsters but will definitely be left ready for more.

As a chapter in the New Mexico arc, it accomplishes what it needs even if the pacing has been all over the place. I still believe this series is strong and look forward to whats to come, but I am cautious and hope future arcs manage the pacing better.

Overall, fans will still enjoy this issue of Nightwing. While it is not the strongest issue, its still worth picking up and its place in the overarching story still makes this a must read for Nightwing fans. I just hope the next issue picks up in pacing as fans are definitely ready to get this ship moving.

Fans of Lunas and Woods previous works will be happy to see this issue on shelves and its worth checking out for anyone with a fantasy itch.

This futuristic tale combines genres and a world that is dystopian and raw. While there is enough to give reason to explore future issues, there is not enough of a hook just yet as the exposition tends to bloat much of the storytelling.

This issue is worth reading, however, the pacing is a glaring problem that may result in readers less than enthusiastic about the story. If not for the story, the art alone makes for a great read.

View Issue       View Full Review

This issue is the weakest so far, however, in a series where every issue has knocked it out of the park it is still among great comics from the entire creative team. Readers who have been following the series might not enjoy this issue as much, but its worth checking out and letting the art do much of the heavy lifting.

The retro/modern art mixed with clever color palettes create a dynamic visually experience. While there is a solid foundation, the lack of connection to characters from the readers hold this story back. Hopefully future issues will find their footing as Thomas and Matthew's make a solid storytelling team.

For fans who were following this creative team, they will likely find more of what they enjoyed beforehand. Anyone jumping into this series might be a bit lost, but its easy to fill in the gaps and enjoy the gags.

Overall, this issue is not the strongest in the series so far, but it still had moments that made for an entertaining read.

As a Green Lantern story, there is a good combination of drama and action although the writing could have benefited from less is more in the dialogue department. Still, its an enjoyable read and sets up an interesting arc going forward.

Bait is a character that has had a background presence and giving him a story of his own is a bold move that I hope sticks the landing. Fans of the series will have no problem picking up this issue and consuming more of the exciting lore of SIKTC. For those who are new to the story, it might not be the most reader friendly, but is still worth exploring after catching up.

There are decent elements that fans of thrillers are likely to appreciate, however, should the story continue, the script could be a little tighter.

View Issue       View Full Review

The overall plot is still decent, however, the Tribulation moments that should be building excitement made this issue a chore to read. While this is not inherently a bad issue, given the patience readers have had with this arc are likely going to be stretched thin as almost little to nothing major happens.

Fans of the series will be happy to see the explosive return and pleased with the art, particularly the space travel and the battles.

A little more exposition could have helped the overall experience, but readers will still be able to enjoy the issue. Dont expect anything mind blowing though as this series is beginning to need work in its tone.

This issue continues the story and adds very little. Fans of this series are likely going to get frustrated as waiting a month for small movement feels like this story might read better in trade.

If you e been following the series this issue still contributes to the larger narrative but a core of the experience makes the issue feel like a one shot.

Nightwing fans are likely to feel the pirate arc is overstaying its welcomewhich is a bummer because theres so much that could be done. Hopefully next issue picks up better.

View Issue       View Full Review

This issue is a mixed bag and this is largely in part from the writing. Which is a shame because a story having monsters shouldnt mean suddenly the writing needs to take a dip.

As an addition to the Knight Terrors event, this didnt feel like it added much, however, Black Adam fans might enjoy the character having more of a presence in the DC Comic Universe. It remains to be seen if the story ends up better in the second half than the first half.

Flash 797 is a fun issue that doesnt have any major stakes in the Flash series. Despite having a weak plot and jarring change in art style halfway through, it was still an overall decent experience.

While it is certainly possible that subsequent issues will fare better, this entry ultimately falls short. Without a clear focus, its likely readers may not find any interest in this series.

Theres still a chance that the story could stick the landing so I wont rule out this series, however, this might be a monster sized feat to perform with the current state of things.
