Batman and Superman are on a quest to train the mysterious new hero Boy Thunder... but what's that in the dark? A faint noise...sounds like a laugh? Uh-oh. The Joker is here and he's got his own plans for a super-powered sidekick! Someone hide all the crowbars, quick!
World's Finest does such an amazing job of reveling in DC's history while injecting new characters and elements that it all feels fresh. Cannot recommend this one enough. Read Full Review
The cliffhanger definitely is a wild one suggesting things are about to get a lot harder for this collective of heroes and their new ally. Read Full Review

It is all just perfect. From Boy Thunder's temper to Barry's Supergirl comment to Superman's speech, it all works. From Flash running with Superman to Donna's concerns to the Joker's mania, it all sings. I'll end this review like I seem to end all the World's Finest reviews. Everyone should be reading this. Batman/Superman: World's Finest #9 is a perfect delivery of superhero action comics at their finest. Waid's writing is on-point with fun adventures and deep character moments while Mora's art is exquisite. Read Full Review
Mora is one of my favorite contemporary artists and beautifully brings great detail and style to everything from the characters to the action. Read Full Review
I still have a lot of questions about this book's continuity, but it's delivering great stories. Read Full Review
The saga of Boy Thunder continues as we look deeply into his origin and more interactions with heroes that will either build him up or shut him down. The issue adds to the emotional roller coaster you'll be on right before the significant drop, which is the Joker. Read Full Review
Batman/Superman: Worlds Finest #9 gives readers a classic #Batman and #Superman adventure as they continue to mentor Boy Thunder and is easily one of the best-looking books on shelves! Read Full Review
Once again Waid, Mora and Bonvillain put out a strong issue. The character work is pretty great, the artwork even greater, and the story as a whole is very well structured and paced. Stuff like all of Gotham being threatened for the umpteenth time doesn't bother me as much here as it does in other books, but I'm still not a huge fan, especially not when both Joker and Key aren't that interesting for me in this story. The good far outweighs the bad, though, and I recommend you get this book while it's hot! Read Full Review
Batman/Superman: World's Finest #9 is the very definition of excess, and yet, it manages to barrel along at a frenetic, yet enjoyable, pace. Read Full Review
Always so intense and light. I love it.
It's an invigorating comic book! The young hero's confession was touching. Robin (Dick Grayson) is really a smart character who knows how to put himself in the shoes of others. Excellent characterization of the first Robin, it was time to do him justice and that's what the whole team of Marc Waid and Dan Mora did. There is joy in this comic despite all the events that take place and the terrifying cliffanger.
Another good issue. It was great to see the original teen titans. It was good to see Thunder Boy get lectured about controlling his emotions and not kill. Joker and Key made a good team-up. Not sure how Superman pulled the water out without pulling out all of the people and I'm not sure how Batman was able to close the gate with his car, but just roll with it. The cliffhanger was good as well.
Still good but a bit stretched out at this point in terms of The Big Secret of Boy Thunder. But the last few pages are great, and only Waid could get away with "changing the course of a mighty river."
That cover is in poor taste, but more importantly it's anachronistic since the Joker hasn't killed his first sidekick yet. (Just kidding. It's a grotesque cover but also very funny.)
en……… A little boring…
