World's Finest #10 is just absolutely fantastic. Waid's script is so much fun and will undoubtedly delight fans with the big reveal. Mora can do no wrong. His artwork hits all the right notes emotionally and is just a wonder to behold. In short this series just keeps getting better by the issue. Read Full Review
Mark Waid does a great job of the panels where Joker and The Key are working together to try and get information out of Boy Thunder via torture and other means. I loved the conversation that Boy Thunder has with The Key in which the villain pretty much gives us his origin story in a few short paragraphs when he talks about the fact that human beings only use about 10 percent of their brains. Batman / Superman: World's Finest #10 continues to hold the top spot as DC Comics' best comic series. Everything about this comic screams "QUALITY," from the outstanding writing by Waid to the mesmerizing art by Mora. But for a confusing stumble in the third act, this would be a perfect comic. It's another great installment in a series that features brilliant art and excellent characters, but definitely seems like it might read even better in a collected format. Read Full Review
This is a good, action-packed issue. It feels like it's the culmination of David's ordeal, where the drama is genuine and not just silly melodrama. The writing is on point, the cliffhanger is very exciting, and the art is excellent. What more could you ask for in a superhero comic? Recommended! Read Full Review
Flash forward and we see that David is actually Magog from the Kingdom Come book. Remember, the Joker kills Lois in that book. Magog then kills the Joker. That triggers Superman to retire setting all the events in motion there. Waid, who wrote Kingdom Come, revisiting Magog is pretty nifty. And I wasn't expecting this at all. This is a solid issue perhaps a bit padded to get us to this point in the story. But I love the ending. I suppose it is a compliment to the creators that this issue, which is solid, isn't up to their usual stellar heights. Read Full Review
Comics rarely gutpunch lately, but this one delivered a totally unexpected surprise at least to this reader.
This series is firing on all cylinders. Solid story and solid art work.
Series is still going good, loving it still!
That reveal was *chef kiss*
I've found this second arc much mroe itneresting than the first.
I jumped back in after missing a few issues and can happily say this is very good. Big fan of Dan Mora's art and I get the feeling Waid is enjoying himself writing this series. It felt a little bit cramped towards the end, almost too much happening too quickly. But still a stong recommendation.
As good as this is, I don't entirely love Waid ignoring previous canon for Magog.
Another great issue. Superman feeling helpless and Batman getting his team together to track down Kid Thunder. Then the reveal of who Kid Thunder really is. Though I have to admit I don't understand how this works, but I guess we'll find out.
Enjoyed the reveal but I think the tone shift was too suddem.
Didn't see that one coming...
Not much is happening here. Some nice action, some interesting moments with Key. Although I prefer Dan Mora's with ligher colors he still nails it.
Nice twist tho.
Kingdom Come is lame and Waid is just being self congratulating.
This book doesn't quite know what it wants to be anymore and the use of the DC Universe as its backdrop already feels somewhat stale (and this is jsut the second arc).
David's arc feels quite rushed, almost immediately after we've met him and we're given a very barebones motivation for his anger, Joekr comes in and he's revealed to be an established character that hated the Joker. Feels too cheap.
That reveal…..😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
