Beta Ray Bill #3 is a definitive middle chapter and it provides a perfect proof point as to why that is not an inherently bad thing. Read Full Review
Beta Ray Bill #3 takes everything successful about the first two issues and continues to build on it even more. This is the strongest series Marvel is putting on right now by leaps and bounds above the closest second. Read Full Review
Johnson is an auteur. There is no question about it. The writing is solid and the artwork is out of this world. I loved every moment of this and it is only getting better. Read Full Review
Another ping-pong issue (ahem) with guns, girls and guts spilling action. Apart from the robo-boobs n butt, this is the highlight of my week. The creative team take a bow three nose bleed issues in a row. Another, almost, flawless issue Read Full Review

DWJ is life.
This is a series worthy of you attention! Both the story and art are given great depth and detail in Beta Ray Bills Journey to Surtur's land. Johnson put a lot of effort into the story and if you need further proof, check out his YouTube page where he gives an in-depth commentary in the making of his series. This series is very underrated and deserves more than 5 part issues. Alot of Heart is in this one, folks!
We're at the midway point of this miniseries now and it continues to be awesome. I've gushed a bit about Johnson's art and his writing in the past two issues, and those sentiments still remain here. I especially liked the interaction between Bill and Skutt. The first half of the book, we get some nice, character-driven writing and in the next, we get a bunch of engaging, well-drawn action. Johnson can really do it all.
No one's making the "I ship Bill with his ship" joke?
Beta Ray Bill #3 doesn't just bring epic scale battles but a challenging new dynamic where Bill finds his needs closer than he believes.
"Amazing ! Pop, Bill, Skutt ! To the gallery ! It's beer time !"
- SKURGE
Bill and friends kill a lot of fire-goblins on their way through the first layer of Muspelheim. At the same time, Bill tries to get his head around the change in Skuttlebutt. I think the creators delivered 100% on the goblin-clobberin' action but weren't quite as successful with the character work. The characters struggle to express their feelings but I get a sense that the creators are struggling, too. Still a very good read, though, and I think there's ample meaning lurking beneath the minor writing difficulties.
A good issue.
This is a really good read. Its over the top, it has good action, its got great art, and just keeps you reading.
Skurge is keeping me going.
Johnson brings his brand of heavy metal action to a Marvel comic and it's a joy to behold.
