Old Man Logan #38 is an entertaining yarn that squandered its potential. It presented a traditional Kingpin story when it could have done something more with the character. It tried to impress upon the reader how weak Logans healing factor was, but forgot that when to set up an action scene that could have been done a different way. The art was unremarkable for the most part, with some weak perspective and proportions and was rather sketchy in places. Its the weakest story of Brissons run so far. For readers who have been reading since it began, its not going to make them drop the book, but its not one that should be recommended as a good jumping on point. It works but it doesnt wow.

As the mysteries and tension only grow larger, Bruce must find a way to enter this black mirror and return unscathed. Snyder and Jock prove to continually work tremendously well even after all these years. With the answers still remaining unclear as towards his motive, The Batman Who Laughs and the Grim Knight prove to be quite the match against the Dark Knight is this magnificent horror story.

With another one shot slated to surround the Grim Knight in the near future, Dark Knights Metal continues to spin out new comics even a year after its finale. Snyder and Jock leave much to be desired as the larger meaning of the series still fails to present itself and accomplishing nothing of higher importance in the process. As it stands the series lacks a an actual purpose outside of cashing in on the hyperbole surrounding the the titular villain and his new sidekick from the Dark Multiverse.

As the series creeps towards its finale, Snyder and Jock will need to pick up the pace to deliver any kind of good pay off for yet another title to spin out of Dark Knights Metal. Albeit a mini-series, any heart seems to be lost on the title while it appears more as an option to cash in on variant covers and merchandise.

The dark multiversal cash cow continues to exist for the sheer purpose of selling variant covers and merchandise. As the wheels spin on, this uninspired nightmare will continue to live within the upcoming Batman/Superman title arriving this summer as the titular character is slated as the new titles main villain. With no end in sight for this dark knight, all fans can do is vote with their dollar as DC and Scott Snyder continues to over saturate the market with an endless number of evil laughing Batmen.

With one last issue left after a seventh was tacked on after 5 issues of nothing really happening, Snyder and Jock take their bow with the titular character and leave room for Joshua Williamson to make something interesting out of it on his upcoming series later this year. With no end in sight, the character who has far exceeded his welcome will continue on within the DC Universe at large even after his own mini-series comes to a close.

Seven issues complete, and yet nothing has been accomplished. Batman destroys his gateway into the Dark Multiverse like he should have well over a year ago. The Batman Who Laughs winds up locked up again such as he was before the series began. The series never once managed to prove why it needed to exist outside of sheer marketing strategy. The toys get moved into strange and new areas. But by the end, nothing matters and everything gets put back into its spot while making room for more appearances from the polarizing monstrosity.

Although not accomplishing much plot wise in the issue, Priest and company still continue to drive an interesting story forward filled with moments of levity and high stakes. Batman, still absolutely stunned over everything that had happened decides to appoint Cyborg as the new leader of the Justice League taking himself off of that role. With Justice League No Surrender around the corner, this run will unfortunately have a short lifespan but it is not one to be missed. With months until Synders Justice League event starts, Priest still has plenty of time to stretch his legs and deliver an amazing run.

Taking some small cues from the Metal event and beginning to set pieces in place for Justice League No Justice, Priest sets the stage for what's to come while still keeping the focus on his story. Priest continues to display his absolute control over an ensemble cast as he takes readers through his more ground level run with the Justice League. As the run continues Priest piles on more layers with each issue in what will hope to be an epic conclusion before No Justice behind this May.

Priests long form storytelling drags in this issue as it seems to just spin its wheels, accomplishing very little in the process. While both of the teams manage to finally work together right at the very end, this particular issue leaves a lot to be desired.  Being only the second part to this story, more has yet to happen although leaving this issue slightly lacking. This issue lacked importance and felt unnecessarily stretched out. However, Priest's run thus far has been a fresh take on The Justice League and still seems very promising with this new story leading into No Justice within the coming weeks.

With Justice League: No Surrender right around the corner, this run continues to be unimpressive and spins its wheels as readers are left waiting for the next run to begin in June.

While a massive win for Lemire and the potential growth for his title, the crossover has little to no reason for ongoing readers to pick it up outside of curiosity. As it stands currently, this miniseries has left little to no reason to believe it will be contained within actual canon for the Black Hammer universe. While still only the first issue, many components of the series are left uncharted as the majority of this chapter served to introduce new readers to the Black Hammer universe and ultimately could change from this first impression of the title.

Like many crossovers before it, the connective tissue is just not there, while the characters seem more like caricatures of their former selves. Without a doubt, the series manages to set up for a potential sequel in the works right after a very rushed and remotely unfulfilling ending to this chapter. Lemire and Walsh driver a fun great looking comic for new readers to the universe but leave a bit more to be desired from previous readers outside of small fan service moments.

Old Woman Harley attempted to be a much more interesting and fun tale than it actually turned out to be, unfortunately missing the mark. With far too many moments of little to no explanation for the sake of the plot, along with the over the top randomness, and the complete disarray of comedic tone, this issue left much to be desired after an intriguing Amanda Conner cover and initial concept. With a Harley Quinn Joker mini series around the corner, there is still hope for  the next story, even if this one left much to be desired.

As the newest pillar of the DC Universe, Harley deserves the creative attention Humphries and Timms bring to the series. More than just cute pin up pictures and collectibles, Harley has a wholesome demeanor that can bring in readers of all tastes, as long as the work continues to speak for itself. Whether its the love of Harley Quinn or Jack Kirby, the adorable main cover or the stunningly gorgeous Frank Cho Variant cover, or the debut of Sam Humphries promising run with Harley, this issue has something for everyone.

Humphries and Timms display why Harley Quinn is so loved and adored by so many fans, new and old, while also bringing her closer to the rest of the respective universe. This run is off to a promising start, as Harley continues her romp on Apokolips, earning the respect of readers and on the verge of subjugation to Darkseids will.

With no considerable revelation behind the debut issue as well as being a lesser known team in todays market, it is up to Batman fanatics to keep this title alive. Accompanied by a handful of the newer characters established within the Bat-mythos recently, this series has something to offer new and old readers alike. New fans of James Tynion IVs time with Detective Comics will find this to be a spiritual successor to the beloved run with the Bat family.

Although not nearly as strong as the previous issue, this chapter grants reader much more insight in what is still her to come for this returned title and adds a bit of excitement on how this group of heroes will deal with this impending doom. Hill and Soy continue to work excellently together and hit home another outstanding issue with these niche characters and Batman.

Fawkes and Kindt prove to handle this series with the love and care Lemire deserves while still leaving their own mark on the title. Although World War II pastiche is new grounds for Black Hammer, it fits perfectly with the overall pre-established universe. With a jaw-dropping ending to show that this is more than just another war comic, this is series begins to be something truly magical.

Albeit a complete and total swerve, the final page reveals of the previous issue was still used in a smart exciting way to change expectations and world build overall. Lemire and Fawkes continue to work together to further add on this universe of comic book pastiches. The vague familiarity lulls the reader into a false sense of comfort only to be taken in a completely unpredictable and fantastic direction.

As an ominous figure appears at the end of the issue, along with the nature of Sideways powers, this title is going to take readers to strange and beautiful places. Grant Morrison is scheduled to help with future issues on the title, if that wasn't telling already, this title is going to continue to get more interesting as the months go on. DC's New Age of Superheroes is kicking off to a great start, Sideways shows how to introduce a new character organically while keeping the story interesting and displaying how artists truly move the needle.

Sideways is a light-hearted and beautiful work of art, never taking itself too seriously and even being slightly self-referential at times, making for a wholesome read. DC's New Age of Superheroes imprint is perpetually getting better as the weeks carry on with titles still yet to be released. Regardless of imprint, Sideways stands head and shoulders above the average comic book on sale. As this title pushes forward, readers can only expect more depth and development towards the larger aspects of the title in the months to come.

Sideways never takes itself too seriously, even down to the comedic editor notes, pulsating with non-stop fun throughout. The last few pages of the issue bring old and new readers up to speed on everything Sideways has gone through until now, even speaking directly to the reader while doing so, further displaying what readers still have to look forward to as the series continues.

The fun, light-hearted tone of Sideways has been met with tragedy and importance from these last few issues, overall positioning the series above its contemporaries within the imprint. With the upcoming first Annual for the title solicited to have legendary writer Grant Morrison helming the scripts, this series is about to get a whole lot more interesting.

After everything Derek James has gone through, from a dopey kid with a YouTube channel to tragic hero traveling throughout the multiverse and beyond earning a place within the DCU, his greater purpose was unfortunately never fully realized. Set to be the Spider-Man analog for the DC Universe, Sideways gets placed on the back burner until another creator can find a lucrative use for the young hero. With one final issue left to stand, readers can only hope for one last heartfelt goodbye from none other than Kenneth Rocafort.

 With the proposition of Sideways returning, as teased by the cliffhanger ending, this series has suffered every clich imaginable with these last few issues as it makes its way toward deaths door. Without any greater responsibility to go along with his great power, this Spider-Man pastiche remains unrealized and ultimately unimportant as he is indefinitely shelved. All the potential in the world couldnt save this character if the creators dont actually seem to care.

Although Deodato takes the spotlight with this exciting first issue, Lemire is sure to lay further more detailed groundwork. As this mini-series gets its footing and introductions out of the way. A far cry from other works out from Lemire, this seems to fit perfectly within the wheelhouse of Deodato. The two creatives work together and create a new and exciting look at an old comic trope.

The series never takes itself too seriously, and with Scioli fitting so much into each issue, every chapter lasts much longer than the typical modern comic book. With an ominous ending, its unclear as to whether a sequel is in the works, but one could easily be made from the finale. Scioli has yet to talk about his next project, but fans will be waiting with bated breath in anticipation.

This arc looks to be another great story as well as a jumping on point for anyone wanting to read the title. Whether LCS or digital, this title is not to be missed as the Emerald Warriors find the willpower to overcome Zods might!

Once again, Venditti and Sandoval outdo themselves, moving from Kyle and Hal being left devastated by these rogue Kryptonians to Kyle and the rest of he Corps being left completely devastated by these rogue Kryptonians.

Outside of the typical last page cliffhangers, Venditti continually goes from one storyline to the next without seeming to build towards anything larger than whatever the current storyline is. This title unfortunately spins its wheels while waiting for Venditti's run to end and the next run to begin. As the final begins to draw closer, Venditti's interest in the series seems to also be straying further away.

Venditti presents a great opening to the new and final arc of his run, albeit undercut by the art at times. With bi-weekly schedule and the rotating artists on board, the story still has hopes of finding it's artist stride.

While already off to a great start, the current arc continues running up until July and, with four issues remaining, gives the creative team ample opportunity to bring this story the conclusion it deserves. Perpetually increasing the tension, but making the stress feel natural and unpredictable, is paramount to the conclusion of this run. With the prospect of Grant Morrison on the horizon for the Green Lantern title, it's time for Venditti and team to go out with a bang!

Over the years, with the vast number of Green Lantern issues Venditti has worked on, his characterization and dialogue have always been the high point for the series. Venditti can juggle numerous fan favorites in any given issue, giving each one with their very own different attitudes and traits making them distinct from one another but still remaining true to character is quintessential to the series. As everything comes closer together for the finale in the next months to come, Venditti and team are sure to make it absolutely epic and grandiose.

While the pencil work of EVS left much to be desired, Vendittis character interactions and complete understanding of the Corps Members are what truly sell this series. With only a few issues left until the grand finale on this arch and run as a whole, events will come to a head as all out war will be waged.

Hal and Pals, as its affectionately been dubbed by fans, yet again adds another beautiful issue to the library of the Green Lantern mythos. One chapter draws one step towards its end, but the next chapter has yet to even begin.

As this run draws closer towards the final issue and as Venditti begins to embark on new ongoing titles, there is never a lack of love or care felt in these last chapters. The final showdown between the Green Lantern Corps and The Darkstars has begun, the countdown to the end has started.

The past couple years on this series with Venditti at the helm, after the departure of legendary writer Geoff Johns, truly brought this series back into readers pulls and discussions with this heartwarming space opera. Venditti and Sandoval will go down as yet another legendary team in the Green Lantern mythos, delivering fan-favorite stories for years to come.

Reaching the halfway point of the mini-series, but still lacking anything of any real importance or anything of actual significance has yet to happen. The second half of the title will have to pick up the slack and prove to readers why these villains deserved to survive past their initial debut last summer. The two Justice League writers take a break from their main titles to just have fun and let loose with a friend and bring some heavy fan service to store shelves.

With the team coming together, even with the undercut mystery of Darkseid previously mentioned, the doors are open for the second issue and beyond to create all new interesting stories to be told. Although plagued by multiple delays, this series manages to keep interests peaked while bolstering niche characters in a very fun and honest way. This gorgeous space opera marks yet another homerun for the New Justice imprint, and DC Comics in general.

This gorgeous space opera reaches new heights with this issue, making for an entertaining read regardless of the lack of overall importance in the grand scheme of things. Briones makes his mark as a perfect fit for the title and Williamsons scripts as the JLO comes one step closer to forming together officially.

Williamson and Giandomenico continue to display their ability to collaborate tremendously well, although this entertaining space opera lacks the higher purpose, still remains an entertaining title will bringing readers out each month. As the JLO move one step closer towards becoming a true to form team, secrets still hide behind everything, especially when Darkseid is involved.

Having saved this title from an early grave, Abnett and Giandomenico start their new journey together with the team into new and brighter horizons. With Darkseid taking center stage behind the curtains, this allows for an previously unseen aspect to the Justice League mythos and new storytelling avenues for Abnett to go down as a whole. As this series finds its legs, the readers are sure to follow the exploits of this niche group of heroes.

Abnett and Conrad deliver another spectacular issue as this series continues to bring itself out from the wreckage of the previous run. With the story finally branching out into new environments, even more, questions begin to make way as the team sets out to interrogate the evil New God himself. This new creative team bring this team right out of the clutches of obscurity and right into the must-read pile.

Continuing to outdo himself yet again, Abnett proves why this title was worth saving. Those strong character moments would be nothing without Samperes pencils. Darkseid proves to be the continual thorn in the side of this rendition of Justice League. As the series moves into its next arc, the ghost sectors os primed to be further explored on a larger scale as this title continues to find its way into readers hands.

As the mystery behind Darkseids plans continues to bleed out with each new issue, the team must join forces with the New God if they plan to double-cross him at the last moment. The series continues to stand head and shoulders above its first iteration. With the new arc beginning in the next issue, it will stand as the perfect chance for no readers looking to jump onto the title as well.

Having the team working alongside Darkseid creates an interesting dynamic with the ability to pay off for multiple issues and arcs to come. This series presents a whole host of intriguing concepts to set differentiate from not only the other two counterpart titles but from any other team book DC puts out currently. As these characters continue to question one anothers true motives, the showdown between the team will be something to look out for in the near future before they truly come together as one.

This cosmic odyssey continues to grow in excitement and depth following the jaw-dropping conclusion to this chapter. Dan Abnett and Will Conrad deliver absolute magic to the pages together once again. Fans new and old can find affinity with any of these characters as they come into their own and grow together as a team.

Although months old at this point, readers around the world will finally be able to collect these stories for the first time in their intended medium. Tom King and Andy Kubert deliver a spectacular first issue to this small run of sorts. As the story continues to unfold within the Walmart specials currently, these issues will continue to grace the comic shops for months to come.

With the previously controversial Lois Lane issue right around the corner, fans around the globe will finally have the chance to make up their own minds on the matter. Tom King and Andy Kubert continue to compliment each other well enough and leave interest between issues for fans looking forward to more adventures with the Last Son of Krypton. With the Walmart specials still releasing each month, these exclusive stories will continue to reach readers for months to come.

Albeit initially intended for kids, now being sold in the direct market fits the story far better with a much more adult consumer base. Fortunately, the Lois story was not altered from its original form so readers around the world can make their own minds up about this particular chapter. While the Walmart specials continue to pump out each month, these issues will continue to follow behind in toe.

Continuing to feel all around uneven, the once Walmart exclusive reprints bring forth spectacular artwork and only lukewarm dialogue to back it all up. Luckily for King, Kuberts artistry more than makes up for his ineptitude, even if most of it was covered in dialogue. With one issue still remaining, the last vestige of hope resides in the showdown between Superman and Darkseid. Hopefully, Clark doesnt go the way of Scott Free.

Albeit small druthers amidst aspects of the artwork, the mini-series is by far the most exciting Batman title on the scene. With a legend such as Warren Ellis behind the scenes, this mini-series is sure to be absolutely unforgettable. This fast-paced chapter is a breeze to read and definitely not one not to miss. Still, only two issues in the series present a perfect opportunity for fans looking to pick up a new title from well-respected creators to be able to jump on without the baggage of continuity.

Guillory further develops each member of the cast with his warm, and often sad, character moments in every issue. As he builds upon each of them through the use of flashes into the past, characters motives are explained as they come into the light. Life on the farm has never been this interesting, Guillory creates a whole new flavor for readers with this smile-inducing tale making it one not to miss.

Guillory uses his own experiences and talents to garner attention and affinity for his creation perfectly. With the artistic aesthetic to lure readers in, lulling them into this false sense of safety before encompassing them within the complicated and heartbreaking past of the family. With each new issue, the story continues to grow at both ends as Rob Guillory simply tells his story about a family and their farm.

Shade the Changing Woman brings readers who are returning right back to where the title left off last year while leaving new readers in the metaphoric dust. While it fails as a jumping on point, the team stays true to form, keeping all of the signature aspects of Shade readers have grown to love while continuing Lomas journey forward. Young Animal continues to pump out one great title after another, and this second wave of new titles is off to an amazing start.

As great as the issue is, it leaves only small cracks for new readers looking to jump into certain titles. Being built as a primer for the new books while also being complete fanservice for readers long since invested in the Sandman Universe, makes this a bit harder to break into than the typical DC comic. The hardest nut to crack, The Dreaming, is the culmination of thirty years of Sandman continuity, giving new readers a run for their money. The Sandman Universe #1 weaves a tapestry of tales kicking off this brand-new imprint, as readers finally return back to Neil Gaimans masterpiece one more time.

This charming, lighthearted tale of friendship continues to garner affinity for the series and the boys. With Jon aged up in the main Superman title, this series stands at the moment as his last days as a child. With four issues remaining, the bittersweet finale rears its head as fans prepare to let go of Jons childhood. Tomasi and Barberi continue to create a fun read for readers of all ages.

With three issues remaining Tomasi and Godlewski continue to drive this series home and deliver another humorous segment starring these fan favorites. As Jon and Damians friendship remaining in question outside of this series, the clock appears to be against the boys for the foreseeable future. As Tomasi and company continue to bring the heart to these beloved characters, fans will be waiting in anticipation for this cherished series

With Jon and Damian's time together as children is coming to its end, this series is not one to miss. The two young heroes have quickly wormed their way into reader's hearts as Tomasi and Santucci proceed to deliver some of the best chapters the series has seen with these last few.

Although one issue still remains, two full volumes of Super Sons will be left as a reminder of better days. This volumes nostalgic romp through space has been an absolute godsend for fans tired of their heroes being in constant crisis. Not just the boys together, but really just the sheer pure joy this series brought to fans will be what is missed the most.

For the past three years, Tomasi has cultivated the affinity for these young heroes working with a handful of brilliant artists along the way. Although not guaranteed, if a third volume is not planned down the line, it is a completely missed opportunity. Tomasi has proven time and time again why these characters deserve their own title together. A prime candidate for some form of animated adaptation, these two fan favorites will find a way to keep their adventures going again no matter the odds.

With every issue being better than the last, this being by far the most dense and interesting one, Johns shows that hes a true Master when it comes to storytelling. Being able to jump from scene to scene intermittently with an ensemble cast while still staying true and carrying the Watchmen legacy forward is something only Geoff Johns is suited for. Doomsday Clock issue four cannot come soon enough.

Maintaining the slow burn, Johns and Frank reel readers deeper into the Doomsday Clock as it trudges one step closer to midnight. With the final issue slated for the summer of 2019, readers will be left speculating and guessing for months to come as this epic monolith moves forward ever so patiently.

The series will continues to drudge along through this next year, as readers finally reach the halfway point. Issue seven is solicited to have huge revelations about Doctor Manhattan and his involvement with the DC Universe, but, between the last six months of very little happening and having to wait yet another two months until September, reader anticipation has began to wear thin as the Doomsday Clock inches ever so slowly toward midnight.

As the Doomsday Clock ticks toward midnight, readers are left at a loss for words from the beginning to the very end. The inevitable bi-monthly release scheduling adds an even larger importance to the title, making every issue an increased impact to readers. With the revelations of this chapter, readers will be left to speculate for works as the anticipation grows for Novembers issue.

Yet again, readers are left to wait another two month gap between issues after an absolutely explosive ending this time around. With only four issues left in the series, the ending is in sight as this final arch ratchets up for the long awaited showdown between Superman and Doctor Manhattan. These final issues are not to be missed as mysteries still wait to be uncovered and the future, and past, of the DC universe hang in limbo.

With three issues remaining, Johns has indeed ratcheted up the stakes as the series makes its way ever so carefully near its close. The truth about why Manhattan meddled with the DC Universe is finally set to be revealed within the next chapter, leaving fans to salivate for the next two months after such a huge payoff.

From the first issue of Action Comics to Post Crisis Man of Steel, down to Johns and Franks own Secret Origin and through the New 52, this issue is able to take on the publishers continuity changes of Superman and the DCU in such a meaningful and inspired manner. The exploration of the universe through meta-commentary attached to the creative changes through the years is another brilliance of Johns. By far his most inspired work to date with this series, bailing an absolute must read with this brand new chapter.

After nearly two years and eleven issues, Superman and Dr. Manhattan finally come face to face, only for the chapter to immediately closeout. Stating previously that he didnt think he would even go through with the title, the seams begin to tear. While Geoff Johns appears to have gotten way over his head. This chapter, while finally fast-paced and tying together plot threads from nearly two years ago, feels to not have enough time for everything Johns wants to cover. As a result, coming off as rushed and as if aspects of the story were changed due to the numerous delays and DC not waiting to bring back the JSA and Legion of Superheroes before this series closed off. While exciting, on the whole, this chapter feels as though changes were made late into the game.

With Man of Steel and Batman's wedding still on the horizon, along with all the New Justice titles still to come, DC is pulling no stops to bring in the readers. No Justice looks to be yet another fun, action-packed blockbuster of an event for all readers this summer.

Being great for new or older readers, this story can stand on its own while also borrowing from previous events, keeping no one in the dark. The series also manages to stay a pure DC universe event rather than just a Batman and friends story, making the series that much more expansive. Every character gets their due or a moment to shine. Spotlighting the various members of each teams allows a character like Beast Boy to have many great moments in this issue when it was his turn under the microscope. As the series reaches the halfway point, the penultimate and the final issue will be the two that truly set the status quo for the upcoming Justice League titles to follow this June and July.

The series continues to do a great balancing act between high stakes with real weight and just fun blockbuster action, allowing multiple facets to be explored. Justice League: No Justice is not only a smart way to create an entry point new readers following DC Nation #0, but also for the incoming New Justice line of books as a whole. With the final issue still to come, readers are left wondering as to what will be the ramifications (if any) of this event leading into the new Justice League titles still yet to come.

The series acts as an almost-appetizer for the main event of Scott Snyders upcoming Justice League book, with small samples of the other future team books on the horizon. Manapuls art completely sells the series all on its own, but its the added great character moments that wrapped the series all together neatly with a bow. While just a placeholder for the absent Justice League and Titans titles, the Justice League proper book seems to be the series to lookout for, arriving next week.

Kat Howards complete understanding of what makes fans feel such an affinity with this character is perfectly on display. Fowler's art brings the precise tone and look this series has long deserved. With a promising start at their feet, this duo looks to create an amazing coming of age tale for new and old readers alike

Howard and Fowler beautifully leave their mark on this series and within the Sandman Universe imprint as a whole. Yet another stunning issue by all accounts, building further anticipation for the issues soon to come as Timothy Hunter grows into the universes most powerful magician.

Continuing of the new era for the young wizard, Howard and Fowler continue to leave their mark on the title as a whole. Standing just a bit higher than its contemporaries within the Sandman Universe imprint, this series is a hallmark to DC comics and Neil Gaimans legacy. With the young Wizard headed into The Dreaming with the next issue, reader anticipation is sure to build as Timothy meets the new Sandman, Daniel.

Although billed as the first meet up between Timothy and Daniel, the current Sandman, this chapter still finds its charm sans the Lord of Dreams. Howard and Fowler continue to produce a heartwarming title for this imprint and to store shelves as a whole. With horror waiting around every corner, Timothy is in for a rude awakening after being on an impromptu vacation in The Dreaming.

As this duo work together with such excellent synchronicity, the series gets more vibrant and entertaining with every issue. From the fabulous artwork of Fowler down to the deep character beats of Howard, they both prove yet again they are a creative force to be reckoned with.

As the series grows, Howard and her collaborators continue to build a love letter for old fans and a great jumping on point for the newer fans. This series is sure to bring a smile to anyones face and excitement for each new chapter.

This series continues to deliver the heart with each new chapter and truly envelop the reader within the wonder and mystery of this magical world. With apparent correlations between the Young Merlin Timothy Hunter and the 'Boy Who Lived,' this series continues to completely separate itself from the prose and cinematic contemporary.

Closing out this first year on an absolute jaw-dropping note, issue #13 will sure to be another explosive chapter for the young wizard and the creative team alike.

Leaving any given issue on a cliffhanger threatening the life of a flagship character typically doesnt leave the reader with any fear for their favorite heroes lives, this is not that story. With the series lying outside of continuity, anything can happen, anyone can die, creating anticipation and excitement not familiar to the DC Universe proper. With only the first issue in, the title proves to be an exciting ride through a nightmarish landscape.

While when initially solicited the series came off as yet another Zombie invasion story, Taylor and company subvert and exceed expectations delivering a true-to-form tale but with a sinister twist. While this chapter sets up multiple plot lines that are sure to pay off as more issues are released, fans will be waiting in bated breath to learn the fate of their favorite heroes.

While reaching the halfway point, the key element has been conveniently absent from the title. The Taylor and company will have to explain what happened to the Fourth World after Darkseid unleashed this new iteration of the Anti-Life Equation. With answers set to come in future solicitations, this Universe spanning take with be sure to leave no stone unturned as the decay continues to rot from within.

Ending with an explosive turn of events, the survival of the world continues to fall out of reach for these heroes as this final blowout might just be their last. Taylor and Hairsine continue to work exceptionally well and accenting each other's strong suits and creating something truly more significant than the sum of its parts. Although two issues remain a handful of one-shots are yet to be released which will flesh out how far the damage has genuinely reached. After this unexpected ending, readers will be left to wonder the fate of their favorite heroes until next month.

Injustice 2 issue Twenty-Two makes for a quick read, as things begin to amp up in Gorilla City, Kahndaq and Delhi respectively. With each issue, Taylor and Redondo keep readers continually guessing and wanting more.

The duo continues to work excellently together, with Tynion able to deliver exceptional characters moments on top of Fernandezs ability to layout these quiet issues and still keep them exciting for the readers. Yet again delivering a complete non-ending to another story, there will be yet another mini-series to spread his story out even further and thinner. The decompressed nature of comic books has infected the medium to the point that its acceptable to span out one story over a two-year timespan while it accomplished little to nothing in the end before everything is set back to the status quo.

An absolute page turner and joy to read, Tomasi and Barberi continue to bring the nostalgia and the heart to store shelves with this light hearted adventure. Although finite, the era of the Super Sons will forever be cherished and remembered to be one of the many highlights of DCs Rebirth initiative.

Tomasi and Gleason do a great job wrapping up this crossover and leaving behind seeds for future story lines in each of the titles while also carrying the Super Sons title forward. Per usual it's sincerely heart warming seeing Damian grow closer to the endearing Jonathan Kent as the months have gone on leaving me excited for what's to come next month.

Tomasi and Mahnke prove time and time again to work incredibly well together, to say the least, and can expertly weave an epic memorable title after title. The long two standing Dc comics royalty knows these characters inside and out and working together create what hopes to be one of the best Batman runs in years.

This Dynamic Duo deliver yet another incredible chapter to this ever growing mystery, leaving readers floored with the jaw dropping ending. As the series approach the milestone issue, Tomasi and Mahnke continue to prove their weight in gold as they create an all new modern classic. With anticipation running high, this series continues to push the envelope with a character nearly a century old.

With yet another amazing chapter under their respective utility belts, Tomasi and Mahnke continue to perfect an old classic and take the Batman into new and mysterious places. As the approaching milestone reels right around the corner, the ever growing speculation behind the Arkham Knight continues to spread as the landmark issue draws near. With anticipation running high, Tomasi is sure to deliver yet another modern classic in the Dark Knights long standing history.

Highly ambitious and entertaining, Tomasi and Mahnke leave their competition in the metaphorical dust as they deliver a true to form Caped Crusader for all readers. As the secrets behind Bruces assailant grow, so does the heavy anticipation for #1000 and newly canon villain, The Arkham Knight, leaving many to speculate on their identity as well as their connection to this first arc of the run. With only more more issue before the 80th anniversary of the Dark Knight, the wait is almost over.

With a home run finish, Tomasi and Mahnke deliver an absolutely spectacular lead up as readers countdown to issue #1000. Managing to create a one-off story arc to bring in newer readers and still giving it importance and mystery enough to earn its own place in the overall mythos, stands as a testament to the creators and their ability to conceive an ambitious and gripping story for all Bat-fans alike.

Detective Comics continues to reign as the premiere Bat-title currently on the market. This milestone issue gushes with the love and affinity that the creators feel for this character as a gift to the fans. Standing as the poster child for DC Comics, sorry Superman, this issue will hope to bring in longtime Batman fans that might be new to the actual comic book community and create new readers, even if just for more Batman titles.

Yet again standing as the uncontested premiere Bat-title, Tomasi and Walker deliver a momentous introduction to the Dark Knights newest group of villains and show the amount of prep time needed to take out Batman himself.

Holding firm as the premier title for DCs flagship character, Tomasi and Walker build an exciting ride for readers to embark on while the mystery of the Arkham Knights identity remains up in the air. With the reveal hinted to come next issue, speculation will be at an all-time high and potentially bringing more eyes onto this new run.

Readers can quickly jump on with this new chapter, but they will definitely want to pick up the first two issues of the arc as well. With more still to uncover about the new villain, fans will not want to miss out on this exciting new chapter in the Dark Knights history. As Tomasi continues to build towards something truly epic Brad Walkers art will be an absolute treat to behold along the way.

As the series progresses, Tomasis ability to build towards something more lavish and grand while still delivering exciting new chapters between each new revelation altogether leave fans clamoring for the next. Brad Walker proceeds to be the artist for the job with his clean pencil works and his ability to visually stand apart from his own contemporaries. Once again, Detective Comics proves to be the peak Batman title currently with no end in sight for this uncontested victory.

As Walker and Tomasi close out this run, the next issue involving The Spectre will be yet another perfect chance for readers to jump onto the flagship DC title. With Mahnke slated to return to the title in the near future, the Caped Crusader is sure to be headed into some very dark corners of the DCU.

With the next arc teased to be including the Joker, readers will be sure not to miss it. Not since Snyders time on Batman has the Clown Prince of Crime made his debut to a Batman book proper outside of a few very small instances. As Tomasi continues his exciting anthology series of tales, each new arc will continue to be accompanied by yet another magnificent collaborator.

The chapter, unfortunately, loses its novelty rather quickly having been yet another seemingly pointless arc in this run. While Doug Mahnke delivers spectacular work as always, the grim nature to his pencils is a bit of an overstatement for the material. Causing it to seem more sinister than it needs to be. With James Tynion IV poised to take the helm of the main Batman title and Warren Ellis having his own mini-series with the Dark Knight. Tomasi is sure to have some serious competition by the end of the year.

This issue moves quickly and covers a lot of ground fast, all while keeping the pacing natural.  The Terrifics has the perfect balance of using continuity a tool rather than a crutch making it a great book for new and old readers alike. Hands down the best title from 'New Age of Superheroes imprint, The Terrifics is certain to be a fan favorite and a title not to be missed

Maintaining the unofficial title of best series from DC'S New Age of Superheroes, The Terrifics yet again proves it's worth to readers with another fast paced issue. Never sticking to just one note, whether it's the good cop bad cop relationship between Plastic Man and Metamorpho, to the stoic Mr Terrific, to the mysteries behind Phantom Girl and the Dark Multiverse, this series brings a new symphony of diverse tones for readers to fall in love with each month.

It's a wonderfully enjoyable title that repeatedly delivers with each new issue, continuing to set the bar for DC's newest imprint.

While initially seen as a shameless Fantastic Four carbon copy, the series has proven itself time and time again as it has come into its own these past few months. The contrasts and relationships between each of these four characters allows for many tales yet to come. As the narrative continues to unfold, the larger mystery set up at the beginning of the series is still yet to be answered, Who is Tom Strong?

This series continues to prove itself issue after issue, and comes into its own while the narrative unfolds and the story continues. While managing to fill the pages with light hearted moments and outright comedic scenes, the down-to-earth moments sell this book as more than just another fun team-up title for children. Lemire creates another beautiful love letter to the Silver Age, and Shaner brings the specific style to fit perfectly within that role. With new each issue drawing in readers, the overall mystery of Tom Strong remains unanswered as the countdown to his arrival continues forward.

Yet another beautiful homage to the Silver Age from Lemire and company while the title evolves into something truly special. Bogdanovic adds the heart the series commands while adhering to the larger scale scripts Lemire commands. Standing as the final title left from the year old imprint, this series has grown to be a fan favorite and a new alternative for an old classic.

Lemire and Bennett knock this issue out of the park as the countdown for Lemires departure from the title rears its head. Although Lemire has obviously taken inspiration from Marvels First Family, he still manages to make this title into something unique and special for readers. This love letter to the Silver Age of comics continues to live on in excellence while its contemporaries crumble to the wayside.

Although this run may be over, this love letter to Marvels first family will carry on. With the rest of DCs New Age of Superheroes in their last death throes, The Terrifics stands as the final vestige of hope for the short-lived imprint. Lemire and a lengthy list of high-level artists brought the heart and love to the series, making it a highly regarded fan-favorite title. As the new creative team stepping in starting next issue, the bar has been set incredibly high.

With this new run still only just beginning, the differences are felt and welcomed. As a more character focus starts, the run sets itself apart from its predecessor and tends to create a new layer for the young teams burgeoning mythos.

The complete 180-degree turn for this series will be detrimental to its survival unless something changes, fast. With the lack of inspired scripts to work from Segovia is left to twiddle his thumbs while Yang looks for a way to make his issues longer without anything actually happening. As August solicits make their rounds, the series will seemingly live for the time being. It would be a shame for such a unique and exciting team to fall into obscurity.

Flash War Prelude was a fun afternoon with Wally West while planting the seeds that will pay off for readers in the months to come. With Wally back in Keystone city, Williamson is bringing the character back to form one step at a time allowing him to a place of his own in this world. The last page reveal alone will keep readers speculating as the countdown to Flash War continues.

Grant Morrison and Giuseppe Camuncoli work together and deliver an excellent detour away from the main storyline with a more quiet issue that only Morrison could produce. With yet another Green Lantern issue right around the corner, Morrison and Sharp will continue to push the mythos and the medium to new and exciting areas.

While technically being a companion piece to the overall run on Aquaman, this series already stands on it's own legs without relying heavily on previous knowledge being absolutely necessary. Mera: Queen of Atlantis #1 kicks off what promises to be a great long overdue love letter to the titular character.  

Sam Humphries shows his attention to each character, especially with Dick and stays true to form doing a great job portraying his detective skills. Humphries is off to a great start with his new run on Nightwing, as this story arch draws closer to its end anticipation for the next one grows.

A perfect introduction chapter into this brand new world. Readers young and old will garner affinity with these characters, and this world immediately. The dual writers prove to make pure magic with this first issue as they leave just enough room for interested in the next. Diotto and Cunniffe working together on art detail truly bring this series to life.

With each new issue, this series continues to be even more promising. Standing as a love letter to comics and fandom surrounding the medium, it is easily a must-read for any new or old reader alike. Albeit dealing with darker overtones this issue, the creatives keep it tasteful and accessible to most readers. After the unexpected visit, Kirby Spiegelman is going to be in for the shock of his life next month.

As the Walmart Giants continue to come out each month, readers can expect a lot from this series as well as the multitude of other once exclusive stories to the retail behemoth. Brian Michael Bendis and Nick Derrington deliver a fun story for all ages as Batman takes on an actual detective role to uncover the truth. Whether within the specials themselves or in the lovely single issue format, this series is not one to miss.

In a time where Batman cant escape his own inner demons, Brian Michael Bendis and Nick Derrington bring about a breath of fresh air. For readers looking for something a bit more light in tone. Taking Batman on a mystery across the universe in search of a strange egg is just the kind of story the Caped Crusader and readers needed. Not only were the previously exclusive Giants exclusively distributed in the US.  In a lot of cases they had, tripled or quadrupled in price within the secondary market, making the reprints that much more desirable.

Albeit at times more reminiscent of a more silver age fun Batman compared to the modern takes, it still remains a breath of fresh air for the Caped Crusader who can't ever seem to escape his ongoing depression in other titles. Nick Derrington and Brian Michael Bendis deliver another exciting chapter to this mini-series with this penultimate issue leaving off on a wildly unexpected turn for the better.

Johns love and knowledge for these characters and this universe shine through with every work he puts out and this stands to be no different. This series acts as Johns true return to the ongoing side of DC comics as much as it acts as Shazams return as well. As per usual Johns is accompanied by a team of talented artists, bringing another beautiful work into readers hands for years to come. With the theatrical debut right around the corner, this series came right at the nick of time.

The light hearted, silver-age nature to the series is a breath of fresh air to store shelves. With secret crises around every corner of current superhero comics, this self-contained joy ride is a must buy for all readers, new and old. Johns love and affinity for these characters and this universe shine through yet again, while accompanied by a slew of talented artists at every turn, this series can do no wrong.

Continuing to stand alone in stride, this title is the poster child of how to do self contained comics within a larger universe but still make them important and entertaining. A sheer joyride to read throughout, this series continues to provide much needed escape from the darker themes current comics tend to dwell on.

This series continues to display how entertaining and lucrative a simple light-hearted tale about family be genuinely be and how much weight it can actually hold. Although not wholly blending together, Eaglesham and Santucci bring beautiful work to each respective page as Geoff Johns continues to prove to readers why this series was worth the years of waiting.

As the first arc continues, more of the older mythos continues to come into play as Johns, and his long line of artists seed in more new and fun concepts. Building slowly towards the inevitable showdown between Black Adam and the Marvel Family proves to keep fans chomping at the bit for more while learning about the brand new corners of the DCU.

With multiple plot threads revealed and much more to come as the family embarks upon the rest of the Magiclands, The Marvel family will have their hands full of exciting and entertaining stories for readers to join alongside them for. Although the movie hype for the Big Red Cheese has come to a trickle, the affinity garnered by this heartwarming comic continues to grow with each new chapter.

With future solicitations seeming to have this series back on track, the next issue of Doomsday Clock still remains nearly three months away. While hope continues to wane for Johns getting out his scripts on time. As only one chapter remains on the title above, hopefully, the finale will allow for more time between Johns and the Big Red Cheese. Eaglesham and Kolins continue to bring excellent work to this title and help to bring the heart truly to life. Albeit incredibly late, the series continues to bring the heart and fun to the market.

Leaving a wake of epic fan moment after epic fan moment, making room for love from new and old reader alike, Dark Nights: Metal is the prime example of a great event. With two more issue remaining and a whole host of titles to come following it's conclusion, this is only the beginning.

Greg and Scott have worked amazingly well since their beginning in 2011 on Batman, Dark Knights: Metal #6 is the perfect end cap to bring their run on Batman to its conclusion, while leaving room for what is still yet to come. As No Justice inches closer, Snyder leaves room, not only for what he has planned in the future, but for the whole DC Universe, even down to mentioning the upcoming Sandman Universe imprint. With more new books coming this June, Metal may be over but this is only the beginning.

With Young Animal standing as the last of the DC imprints, Doom Patrol will continue to tow the line despite such great lengths of time between issues. With a new direction and creative team to back Gerard Way up in the creation process, fans cross their fingers in hopes of this niche titles continued survival and success.

After a long absence, this 'title's re-emergence proves to be nothing short of sheer stunning artistry on all fronts. Sharing the writing duties between Way and Lambert adds another level of insanity. It's perfect for the title, while James 'Harvey's eye for design sets this series apart from the typical book from the big two publishers.

After two stand-alone issues, this chapter kicks off a new arc for the title in a perfectly strange fashion. Not necessarily new reader-friendly, this issue, in particular, takes a little bit more required reading to catch a lot of the nuances and subtleties. Even with all the changes to the large cast, its still truly rewarding for long-time fans. Doc and the trio of writers deliver a truly unique and original title to the market. 

A complete breath of fresh air for the comic market, as this series moves forward, each new issue delivers a unique flavor and new look on the team and their surrounding mythos. While advertised for adults, this chapter is new reader-friendly, as the writers use Clark to fill in the gaps for fans. After such a spectacular issue, Cloonan, Conrad, and Bonvillain would be remiss if they were not to return again.

As it stands, this is easily hands down the unique and inspired superhero comic published outside of the big two in years, if not ever. Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston continue to weave a truly magnificent journey for this group of heroes and readers alike as they continue to look for a way home. With calls to everything to Warren Ellis himself and The New Gods, this series delivers an unforgettable inside baseball inspired superhero tale for the ages.

The world continues to grow ever so large. This ambitious tale expands with every new issue and mini-series still to come. Lemire and Ormston have indeed worked together and created something magical that will stand the test of time. Akin to a 90s Vertigo series, this title ascends time and supplants itself into the source wall of comics as a whole.

Albeit a bit late for new readers looking to jump on the title with this issue, Dark Horse has made sure to keep the previously collected volumes in circulation for those searching for their chance. With multiple volumes, mini-series, and one-shots anyone looking to read or reread will have their hands happily full with a wide assortment of flavors for their new favorite universe. If you hadn't guessed already from the cover, Doctor Strange merges with The Void, whom he had locked in his Sanctum Sanctorum, in hopes of defeating Loki. I cannot wait to see where Coates takes us in the following months to come, exit light and enter The Void.

The spectacle of the series is by far the artistry of Sorrentino, bringing into existence the insanity Lemire puts onto these completely unhinged scripts. From the beautifully rendered depictions of life to the mind-bending landscape from within the Sinclairs haunted black barn, Sorrentino delivers some of his best work to date. As the series is set to air on television in the future, the overall positive responses to the title bring hope for a rich story with longevity from this fantastic duo.

Between the glorious artwork of Doug Braithwaite and the combined efforts of Andy Diggle and Alex Paknadel, this mini-series stands to be both memorable but also a natural entry point into the Valiant comics universe for readers of all ages.

Isola looks like no other book on the market as this trio bring about something extraordinary with this series. From the grand landscapes to the heartfelt and budding relationship between Rook and Olwyn, this series delivers the love and care to show what a creator-owned comic can accomplish. By far the selling point of the series is easily the spectacular artwork, luckily it is accompanied by an equally heartwarming as well as a heart-wrenching tale to display the weight this series is capable of.

Looking back at the first year of this modern classic comes its close, the grandiose epic nature was never once lost. From No Justice, into The Totality, through Drowned Earth, the Legion of Doom issues, and back again to The Source Wall with Starman, this series has been on an amazing roll as it continues forward into new unseen corners of the DCU. As Snyder and Tynion IV close out this chapter, leaving certain ties still unanswered and readers waiting with heavy anticipation into the next era of the series.

Oblivion Song is a sleeper title, but a must-read nonetheless. With such high regard for The Walking Dead by many readers and non-comic book readers as well as the likes of Invincible, this series is poised for greatness while already off to a fantastic start with its second volume. Where writers could completely fumble a time jump, Kirkman makes excellent use of this device allowing him to push the story forward in all new ways while still never losing what made it great to start with.

This is a fantastic Welcome Back issue for Plas, as well as bringing new readers interested in Plastic Man, whether it is from The Terrifics or even Injustice 2, up to speed with the fan-favorite. The constant theme of juxtaposition, whether deliberate or inherent, adds to the strength and promise of the title while keeping readers on their toes with what comes next. Plastic Man #1 by Gail Simone is yet another home run for the veteran writer.

The Swamp Thing Winter Special is a monument to the late creators and their legacy while displaying the newer talents of King, Fabok, and Jones. Eighty pages has never felt so short as it leaves the reader wanting an ongoing series that isn't coming. Truly bittersweet, this special is not one to go under the radar. Master class comics at it's finest.

With one final issue to wrap the series up look forward to a recount of fan favorite, Days of Futures Past. Ed Piskor is one of the few actual cartoonists left in the business currently, each work he produces is a genuine labor of love and a gift to the medium as a whole. As the Eisner Awards rear the corner, Ed stands a chance to win Best New Series for his time with the X-Men, both perfect candidates for that honor.

Overall well beyond worth the price of admission. With tons of incentive covers for shops to obtain more copies, the issue is sure to be a readily available book. As a primer for the upcoming summer blockbusters for DC, the issue will set the stage for things to come while also adding a perfect jumping on point for readers currently out of the loop.
