This swan song of an issue perfectly encapsulates the ending of an era that gives closure to a spectacular almost four year run. Theres so much to love here, and the transitions from creative to creative is incredibly smooth. A magnificent way to mark the 200th cover of Venom, while also creating quite a few other opportunities for other Symbiotes to now take center stage. Take a bloody big bow to everyone involved, a stupendous finale! Read Full Review

A great final issue to a phenomenal run that will likely become synonymous with the character himself. Read Full Review

Venom #200 delivers a major new direction for the character that could have been another story arc entirely. Instead, Cates and Stegman get to put their final touches on the character in a comic that earns its extra price tag and page length. If you haven't been reading this run, this is not a great place to start, but it's an intriguing new twist on the character that's well worth investigating. Read Full Review
Nevertheless, if you've grown stale to Cates VENOM, you may be thinking about skipping this issue. However, I suggest reading it. Why? Its the perfect issue to summarize what you've missed and to see where Eddie and VENOM are at whether you agree with it or not. As much as I haven't been a huge fan of his run since VENOM ISLAND, I still think this issue is a must-read for the status quo of VENOM moving forward. Read Full Review
This end for Eddie is a series of new beginnings for several others, as we see Donny Cates's ongoing 35 issue (plus extras) Knull comic reach the epilogue. Eddie Brock see's himself transitioning into a brand new role, and the character of Venom will go forward in a radically different direction. While this issue left this Venom fanatic feeling melancholy, I'm sure your average Venom reader, one who has been following and loving this run since its inception, will will come out of this with quite the experience. Simply. Woow, this closing, this courier step was perfect, beautiful, emotional. The writers played with all of our emotions, it was fun, exciting, sad, every step they took to give us another venom in an incredible way. I want more of this.
This was a great ending. It caps off the Cates run very well, while also setting up new things that are legitimately exciting. Can't wait for the Ewing/V run... Hell, I can't wait for Extreme Carnage, and there's no way that's good.
A terrific ending to the best venom run ever in my opinion. This book did a fantastic job of finishing this chapter of these characters and setting up what comes next. This whole run was a must read for anyone even slightly interested in these characters
I'm a huge venom head so I'm sure this is a bit biased in that sense but man what a satisfying ending and change of hands for what's next. Beautiful story that made a long ass comic a pleasure to read. I loved this Venom run. Definitely a defining chapter in Venoms History.
uuf was really good, Brock and Dylan are a great characters. See all the symbionts in the was earth fun.
Hopefully other publishers would see this work and understand that this is the true way of bringing together several writers and artists to give something with quality and above all not putting nonsensical characters.
Very good title.
Eddie and Cates have earned a grand finale. After such a long and complicated journey, Eddie finds himself retiring with an important job. So who can succeed him with all of the heavy metal action? Well there's Flash Thompson as Anti-Venom ready to deal with the fallout of King in Black. Then there's the new Venom Dylan who Donny instills his love of the 90s with a Venom redesign. Anyone wonder what would happen if Venom, Ghost Rider, and Spawn were in the same room?
Finally the readers are left waiting for the big return of the Ultimate Universe. I wonder if that's why Al Ewing is taking over Venom, both he and Cates are the ones bringing the Ultimate Universe back.
I was scared of a problem due to so many writers, bad experiences with another publisher I think.
Marvel did it, it's a solid title that leaves us wanting more
Great ending to one of the best Marvel series in the past few years, really excited for what's to come next for these characters.
Not much to say. This is exactly what we've come to expect of this run. And it ends in a brilliant way, potentially taking a page from offbeat of Venoms greatest rivals.
"Always and forever."
- EDDIE BROCK
Marvel is doing it big, Venom is an excellent character who deserves to have a good narrative and art. This number hit with everything.
"I went looking for the truth, and Lord help me I found it. I witnessed the void that drives us to spend our lives cultivating an inner darkness.
It's blacker than ink, darker than the grave.
I was there
I touched it. "
-Eddie Brock
Wait a minute I need to breathe after that intro, it was just powerful.
It was incredible, painful to see the price I pay the new king of the symbiotes, the king, the god of the symbiotes, in the end is only human.
I get so excited, it was perfect full of ... you know what, just go and buy it, you won't regret it.
Excellent handling of the story, hell, Dylan has to fight with his inner demons, that was shocking adding great drama. There are many things at stake here with the symbiotes, nothing is as easy as we thought at the beginning. The fight is not over
What an incredible run.
a solid concluding chapter, and this issue is technically a ten out of ten. Overall, Donny Cates Venom is one of the best runs to come out of Marvel Comics, and I highly reccomend anyone to read this.
A worthy ending to Cates' storyline. That an amazing ride this was.
Eddie Brock's happily ever after comes together with an impressive number of sequel hooks laid out for future stories. The art carousel is something I'm tolerating rather than loving, but I'll admit there are some great visual moments. Some excellent writing, too; Eddie, Dylan, and Spidey are all characterized very well. Mr. Cates also hits hard on his over-arching theme ("we're stronger together"), making a triumphal final chorus out of this farewell. I'm surprised by how consistently interested I am in all of the sequel hooks; I hope none of them get screwed up.
Its a great end cap to Venom and its been a great series to read. It completely changed the character of Venom as as Dylan and Flash. Heres to the future. A very solid run.
I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, the book was strong in the sense that we got a lot of info about a lot of characters, something that doesn't usually happen in these kinds of books and I'm excited about some stuff here. On the other hand, I couldn't care less about Dylan, Eddie Brock was a complex and interesting character, it's why it clicked with people, Dylan is pretty boring. I'm not sure I like this sidelining of Eddie in a very Batman Beyond style while Dylan gets all the action. I get that Dylan is the teacher's pet, as in the character Cates created and he's pushing him forward, but I don't care about him and I really tried to. All in all though, this was a really great run for Venom and regardless of my personal pmore
I don't know what to say, it just left me with a lot of emotions, sad for Eddie and Dylan, I was happy seeing the symbiotes living together, scared with Dylan's reaction to the bulling, and intrigued with the ending.
Cates writes dialog with the best of them, but his story and character "developments" are very much not for me. The art is fine here, and there are a couple of neat nods to Venom's past (which has been kicked in the nads and then spit on over the course of this run) but, overall, this is an unredeeming end to what's been some of my least favorite work on the character.
