But even then, will it be enough? Find out in this action-packed conclusion!
This quick series ended perfectly and showed me a fantastic dynamic duo, but I really hope this future gets another chance to be seen again as the creative team did a good job of showing a darker world saved by Dick Grayson. Read Full Review
This was one of the better Future State titles and as Gotham Future State continues playing out under the Infinite Frontier banner hopefully Constant and Scott will be involved to help chart Nightwings path. Read Full Review
Writer Andrew Constant writes a great script here. It is full of verve and intelligence and works quite well. Artist Nicola Scott does a great job here on the art as well. The images are cool and the action is clear. I would love to see more from this creative team in the future. Read Full Review
Andrew Constant ties up his Future State Nightwing story in a fine fashion. There's something for everyone in this issue. Great action on display with great art, and Constant showing us prior to Tom Taylor's arrival that Nightwing is in fact an “A” list hero!! Come on DC, let's get Andrew Constant on an ongoing book! Not sure which cameo surprised everyone most, but I was blown away by Talia al Ghul showing up. It'd make sense to see some members of The Resistance pop up in Red Hood's upcoming Future State series, but this team deserves it's own book " even if it's a miniseries. Read Full Review
Future State: Nightwing #2 hit it out of the park as Andrew Constant and Nicola Scott make a strong case for this being the best Future State series. From beginning to end you are engaged in the events that unfold as Nightwing sets out to take down the Magistrate. The way the entire Batman Family got involved just added to the hype around this series concluded. This is definitely a series that fans should not miss out on reading. Read Full Review
I enjoyed reading this issue but I wish there was more. I really would like to explore this timeline a little more and I feel there are many more stories to tell. This was just a teaser for Future State and I would like to see more. Not perfect but very satisfying. Read Full Review
This series doesn't break any new ground, but it really doesn't need to. Of all the Gotham stories of Future State, this is the most "meat and potatoes""an old-school vigilante team-up against the forces of the Magistrate. Read Full Review
Future State: Nightwing #2 closes with Nightwing and the new Batman taking down the new head of the Magistrate as they live to fight another day. But what it's really about, is the budding bromance between Dick Grayson and Tim Fox. I think we have two new best friends on our hands. Read Full Review
All in all, this was a fine ending for the short Future State of Dick Grayson. It finishes well and provides a nice segue into the Future State: Gotham series, so that may be worth checking out. However, the big question remains whether this future will come to pass or be retconned as yet another Elseworlds. Time will tell. Read Full Review
You've probably already guessed this, but I really enjoyed Future State: Nightwing #2. It's been an exciting ride, we've seen new and very cool versions of our favorite characters, and I can't wait to see how we get back to the present, I'm also excited to find out how what's happening in the now could (will?) lead to this crazy future. Future State: Nightwing #2 feels like a great one-two punch with Future State: The Next Batman #4 as it doubles down on what fans love about these characters. Read Full Review
Nightwing and the Next Batman team up and bring some other friends along for the ride in a second issue that is more entertaining than its predecessor, albeit still deeply flawed. Read Full Review
Future State: Nightwing #2 plays with interesting ideas in all the wrong ways. The drama is inert due to some key plot points being kept a secret until the end. Additionally, Nicola Scott struggles to both create interesting compositions and display Nightwing's unique skill set. Constant's script is overwritten, filled to the brim with ideas and statements that don't congeal into a precise point. Despite this issue not fully working for me, I'm eager to see Constant's work yet to come. Read Full Review
I'm speechless. This is the Dick Grayson I love to see.
After I read #1 I wasn't sure whether I would like this mini-arc if it weren't for the mess that came before (aka Ric Grayson, may I never speak of that again). But this Issue cements that Future State is is one of the best one-and-done arcs Dick has gotten in the last years.
Dick isn't only highly competent, he also feels like himself. There are some more hardened edges, a certain paranoia, but for long-time Nightwing/Dick Grayson fans that will hardly be seen as out-of-character. And I enjoy that he is allowed to remain himself while leading the Resistance.
His team-up with Jace is a lot of fun. Their characters complement each other well, and I hope more
After Nightwing was consistently disappointing during the Rebirth era, this is a pleasant surprise.
It is nice to see Nightwing being written in character again. Recommended for Nightwing fans.
Great mini, and Barbara looks amazing in her new version of Oracle/Batgirl.
8.5!
WOW, this is the better Nightwing Content I have seen in quite a long time.
I like that Nightwing is Leader of Resistance and we got to see resistance too. And the team-up between Batman and Nightwing was fun too.
Sem nada espetacular mas ainda assim uma leitura agradável.
Future State Nightwing remains a good book. Much more hopefull with a very good characterization of Nightwing at its core. The Nightwing & (the new) Batman dynamic is alsa surprisingly good.
Barbara's Oracle suit is also looking pretty good if I do say myself.
" I also heard what you said about Gotham needing Batman. It needs Batman just as much as it's heroes need Nightwing. We're leaving now."
- BATMAN (TIM FOX)
Nightwing was probably my personal biggest surprise coming from Future State. I didn't expect much from it, but now I can confidently say that it's one of the event's biggest highlights. It's full of action, and while you can say it's a bit predictable at times, it doesn't stop it from being an entertaining, intense read. I like it, a lot. From the beginning it felt like it's a part of something bigger, something interconnected, which can't be told about most other books coming from this line. Nightwing's short story is more than just a tale. It's a connective tissue gluing together several other series, no matter good or bad. And because of it, it feels like its world is alive.
Definitely recomment this one.
Swamp Thing was my favorite of the Future State line from DC. This was solid too. Great art as always from Nicola Scott.
How nice to read a Nightwing comic that doesn’t utterly suck. It’s been literally years. Can’t wait for Taylor’s run. That looks fantastic but this was pretty okay too. It’s about time!
This was alright.
It was a surprisingly good issue with good art and pacing.
But Dick Grayson continues to make a major mistake.
I understand Nightwing is "his identity."
But if he believes Gotham needs a Batman, then he needs to wear a bat costume.
It is not enough to let someone else take over.
Batman is not about skills, talents, courage.
It is about compulsion, values, and determination - to fight crime without being a criminal.
Robin in Earth 2 had the right idea. Some may have thought Earth 2 Robin's costume quirky.
But if Nightwing believes a Batman is needed, he needs to be looking in the mirror.
Not expecting that from strangers.
I also don't believe Dick would have given up looking for B more
Nightwing and an inept Batman fight the bad guy from Alita: Battle Angel.
It was good, but I didn't like it. Much better quality than that of more than a year ago of course. But who really saves the day are his companions, he focused a lot on the relationship with the new Batman feeling something false here.
Another thing I hate is that there is no connection between this nightwing and the nightstroke that comes out in titans I hate that they put characters to the fool, as this dick was related to the one in Teen Titans. It is a decent number but then the gaps what happens with that?
not bad but, the last week I ended up hating this whole event, I want the original series back, I want Tim Drake, Jason Todd, Barbara back in their own series, with their continuity and they want to force us to consume this.je déteste totalement
OMG TOTALLY FORCED THIS UNION. Of course they are using the acceptance that Nightwing has so that this Batman who now we do not know if his name is Tim or Jace Fox likes his character like a new Batman, it is like wanting to force a piece that you made and drew yourself to enter the puzzle. That's how it felt, what is more, this messy event was throwing up unfinished stories to insist that only this event be bought, everything is very forced, they want to force the reader to like this new 5G project that supposedly is not. (This seems to be heading towards wanting to 5g the main land and maybe get rid of some old characters later on)
I definitely liked seeing the remnants of Nightwing that we know about and leaving the disastrou more
It's a shame Scott's art was wasted on this comic.
