Captain America and the Invaders: The Bahama Trianglecaptures the spirit of an era in comics that has fallen by the wayside, guided by the legendary hands of Roy Thomas and Jerry Ordway. Read Full Review

Comics: The Gathering - Charles Martin Jul 3, 2019

Grandmaster Roy Thomas throws us back twice over to share a Silver-Age-style adventure set in the Timely Comics days. While written with great skill and drawn with even greater passion, this comic's adherence to undeniably dated storytelling standards shrinks the pool of readers who will really enjoy it. It's a tasty treat, but one crafted expressly for those with a retro palette. Read Full Review

Another anniversary issue that might be better left on the shelf. Invaders fans might want to check it out, but I wont speak for anyone but myself and I was just bored. Read Full Review

Not a huge fan of this style to be honest.

A shirt but sweet flashback issue to Cap and the Invaders’ early days written by the creator of the Invaders himself Jerry Ordway. The pace was fast and the issue was nice and simple and beautifully drawn. There aren’t enough issues like this these days but seriously read this issue for the art if for nothing else

I think this issue tells a good story that takes us back to the early years of Marvel (Timely).
Nods are given to the creators of the big three (Torch, Cap, and Namor). People interested in the Invaders and/or the beginnings of the comic era should enjoy this tale. I personally liked seeing the Torch and Captain America as sailors.
Roy Thomas still tells an interesting story.
The art is another strength for this one-shot.

This fits really well with classic Invaders, but that archaic nature might turn some people off. I really found it fun and nostalgic though.

Cameos in the first scene: The photographer is Jonah Jameson or an ancestor thereof. The man passing Cap's shield back to him is Jack Kirby.
