This was a huge disappointment. There is no plot to this issue and left me thinking this is pointless and a waste of my time

Wow Hickman’s playing 3D chess with the X-men

The problem with this entire run is that it’s always ok. Never great, never bad just ok. That’s how I describe this issue just ok

Dropped. I’m not wasting my money on a book with terrible dialogue and half baked ideas, incomplete story telling and changing character motivations. I’d rather spend my money on an indie book. I wish I picked up Kelly sue’s aquman when she started and dropped this then.

All i have to say is wow, this was great!! Marvel cosmic goodness at its best.

Exposition dump of an issue where King recaps everything that has happened from issue 1-50 of his run and explicitly tells us what he's doing because he thinks we are all stupid to not understand the greatness of his run so he needs to spoon feed us what he's doing. In the end this is another filler issue proving that he doesn't need 100 issues to tell his story.

Main story is great but each story afterwards gets progressively worse. I will not be picking up the next issue bc I refuse to pay full price for a book that I only want to read 1/3 of

I can't believe that the guy that wrote vision and mister miracle is the same guy writing HiC. This issue is terrible. The dialogue continues to be juvenile, seriously why does every character have to insert like into every sentence. Also the transition from Mann's highly detailed art to a more cartoonish style doesn't work.

Dialogue is clunky. The main character is American but talks like a Brit. Story is ok and is supposed to grab fans of action comics but the last three pages have nothing to do with anything else and are there to give background on Wyrd but it's just thrown in and doesn't have a connection to anything. Writing was poor in my opinion. I will not be continuing with this.

I feel dumber for having read this dialogue. Every character speaks like a 12 year old. They know words but not how to structure them in a sentence or say the same thing 5 different ways. Also to beat the flash all you have to do is say what's that. What is he a dog. How stupid is his rogues gallery to not figure that out. I like how superman is making a speech to the world and ends it by saying the heroes are fighting for the American way. Way to know your audience. 4/10 the art was great and that's all. Probably why half this issue is splash pages bc the story doesn't offer anything.

Great iron fist story so well done

Die #2 Jan 12, 2019

Much better than the previous issue and a decent one shot. Story doesn't progress but atleast it refers to issue 60. The ending is interesting hopefully there is a good payoff. Art was great.

14 year old me would love this book. Too bad I'm not 14

This was better than the last issue. A couple of problems with the art/script as the police try to arrest him, he is the first one to make a move and attack, and later they say it was the cops that attacked first which isn't shown in the art. They tried to show systemic racism in the police system but fail to actually show that properly on the story.

This issue is fine. My biggest problem with the series is that it is very slow moving. I'm trade waiting this series now as this will read better in trade than singles.

Dam this was great! Way to do a 700th issue

Best issue of the series so far. Again Coates is building to something that could be good but the story so far has been very decompressed. I believe that this will read much better in trade and I will be switching after issue 6 to trades.

The story is good but the art is terrible to the point where I can't follow the action and took me out of the book. The score is solely based on the art and it's affect on the story

Perfect 10 for the art. Unfortunately this overall gets a 6 so take from that what you will.

What a crazy end to the first arc. I didn't expect the violence in this issue but amongst all the violence there is still a story personal about metal health

Venom (2018) #7 Oct 13, 2018

Too decompressed for my liking and not being American the monologue did nothin for me

Fun read, but Luke Cage isn't the Juggernaught. That scene of the car crashing into him is a big stretch for his power set. This is good but that odd

What the hell did I just read. Weird issue and I do t know what the pint was

This entire issue could've been done in 4 pages and had the same impact. The story is very decompressed but the dialogue is boring. Poorly executed in my opinion

What's the point of this. There is literally no return of wolverine in this. It feels like the start of a new arc, nothing special here. Skip this and pick up extermination instead

Very little story in this issue. There are 3 pages of just Selina jump across roof tops. Other than the art this doesn't offer much, but the art is great.

Gideon Falls #5 Jul 21, 2018

This made no sense. This story was garbage. The art is the only reason I give his a 4

This is a great rebound from issue 50 and does a great job of showing how batman is dealing with the fallout from the wedding.

Without getting into spoilers this issue was hard to follow as it just jumps from one thing to the next with no explanation. The issue doesn't make sense until the second last page. This was a step back for this series but I expect the next issue to be good.

Cates does it again. This issue was amazing. Breakneck pace that never lets you get settled. The story makes so much sense and makes me think why hasn't this been done already. The new vilian is cool.

This issue is caca poo poo. I would have given this a 3 or 4 but the ending was really good.

this has potential but it's just not coming together. Not sure how much longer I'm staying with this

The first four pages were entertaining and then we get to superman's story and I'm bored. This seriously felt like a filler issue to me and that shouldn't happens on issue 2.

Hated the parts w superman as there was too much bendis speak. The rogul zaar parts were the best part of the book.

Other than the art this book has nothing to offer. Art is 5/5 everything else is 0.

Great start. Story is good and the writer does a good job of world building and progressing the story at the same time. One of the better books of the week.

The art is gorgeous, but that's all this book has to offer. If you REALLY like high fantasy this may be for you, but otherwise pass because the story tell is poor.

The premise is stupid. The art is good and so if the action but nothing else to see here

This was interesting, but feels incomplete. The cliffhanger end leaves me with question but that don't necessarily draw me in. This is well written and will probably be better in trade than in single issues.

The art was bad and terrible in some panels. The story is ok.

Doctor Strange: Damnation #2 Mar 12, 2018

The story is a little boing. This felt more like Spencer to me than Cates. The best part was when the heroes were arguing and blaming captain marvel for everything. I also didn't like the art. I think it was the colouring that didn't do it for me.

It was ok. Too much previews for my liking especially considering I k we all this from solicits. I would give it a 7/10 but this loses 2 points for the price. This should have been 2.99 because of all the previews. In the end this is a poor mans rebirth.

The story was too straight forward and where is the retconning. I didn't like the art it was too rough and sketchy for me.

Filler issue, nothing really happens. Very light on content bc of overuse of splash pages. Art is ok.

This issue is worse than the last one IMO. I was enjoying this until about 2/3 in and then everything with miles ruins the book for me. It made no sense to me. You have a chance to kill hitler you kill him and that ruined the book for me. The fight scene between widow and punished was great.

Got worse with each story and is pointless.

Classic tom king writing and this is probably my favourite batman issue of his run. This does a great job of picking up after the button story and tie into what happened in the button. It completely makes sense given what has been happening during this batman run and the button. If you don't like tom king's writing you won't like this, but if you do this issue is great from the characterization to the progression of the story and maybe having a long lasting effect on batman (this is comics so it will probably be undone at some point, but it will be intersting to see where it goes from here). Art was good too atleast the David finch parts.

Pacing could be better. Slow at the beginning and a little too fast at the end. The middle was just right. Basically a setup the team issue and introduction to the dark side. Sets up an inerratjf story and I trust Kindt.

This whole arc is just a teaser for the doomsday clock series that comes out in November. There are no revelations (other than stuff that we already know) and I'm disappointed with what was done with Jay Garrick. There is no plot to this book, it's basically the conclusion of a weird road trip.

A lot of building and a massive cliff hanger. Also Sortentino's art is great, too bad he does t draw the whole series.

Really good issue. Hits the right emotional strings. This book shows that Kirkman still cares about these characters after all these years. Also you get a lot of book for $2.99, great value here.

Another great black hammer issue. What an end didn't see that happening.

This issue was good but is the worst of the series so far. That's not meant to put down this book because the other books have been great.

The issue is good, not as good as Batman 21 though. The art isn't as good as issue 1 of the button, but very few artist can draw as well as Fabok. I felt the story was a little slow and there could be more substance. The ending is awesome and it will be interesting to see where they go with this. Definitely a pick up if you like flashpoint and DC history. Trying to be spoiler free so I will stop here.

This book is great. From the art to the story to the dialogue all fantastic. This quickly became one of my favourite books.

I was in the fence about this one, but picked it up because of Donny Cates and he doesn't dissappoint. The story is good as he takes the time to build the characters. The art is gritty but works for the story. Added it to my pull.

Note I have read all Nick Spencer's entire run on Captain america and standoff, so I think i get a deeper appreciation for the story becuase I know how we got here. I have also heard several people that are going in blind without reading anything else still enjoying the story. Let's get this out of the way. For anyone tired of or warned down by bad marvel events, I want to make it clear that this is not Bendis' Civil War II! This story has a plot and so far seems very well planned out. Civil war II is all fluff and the only plot to civil war II is found in one of the Captain America books where steve is building his secret empire. This even has been building up for over 1.5 years. It started with standoff and has been building up ever since to this conclusion. This is not a fabricated event by the marketing department to go along with a movie release. Now onto the review of this book. I really liked this issue I give it a 8.5/10. This could have been a pick of the week in a different week. That's how good it is. I didn't much care for the artwork, but the material is just so dense and the story is so complex that the art is really secondary. To be honest if the art was better it wouldn't affect my score much maybe maybe increase it by 0.5. If you like Captain America or Marvel comics you should definitely get this book. Also I don't know why this was a #0 issue this is definitely needed for the story.

9.5
Batman (2016) #21 Apr 19, 2017

This book was good. There's a lot in here to digest and a lot of the plot holes have been explained well. This issue shows how Spencer had this all planned out. Art can be better but I ignored the was art because I was so into the story and I didn't want to miss anything. The material is dense and this book is high on dialogue but good dialogue.

Art was a let down and the story was only ok. Liked explanation for how batman didn't know the league of shadows existed, but didn't like how they referred to an I all star 9 that hasn't come out yet. The orphan fight in the next issue should be awesome if they get a better artist.

For a fill-in issue it sets up some big stuff that will pay off way down the line. It was a fun read art was ok. Rate 7.8.

I'm new to WW and I only knew that the witch's name is Cerci from reading the comments here. Good issue I thought the WW could be drawn better. Rating 7.7

Art is great but was dissappointed in the story and the conclusion of the arc. I understand what king was doing but he wrapped it up too quickly. He should have spent less time recapping his run to date and more on wrapping up the arc.

Slow burn issue (justifiable needed to address the new normal after reborn) with great cliffhanger. Never trusted the mysterious grandfather. Would have given it higher but the Art could have been better
