We can't say enough about how good Marauders continues to be, and it doesn't show any sign of changing. Read Full Review
Right now, if there is any book from the Dawn of X titles you would be crazy to miss out on, it is Marauders. This book is a roller coaster of emotions, and an adventure you aren't going to get anywhere else. It is even so far along with giving us a tour of the new mutant world. Marauders #8 is one that will floor you more than Kate's death when this is what it looks like when mortality greets the currently unkillable. Read Full Review
This comic book is beautiful. And while death does not last forever within the X-Men, seeing the writers explore them dealing with tragedy is very real. Read Full Review
Some may be disappointed with the lack of Kate, but I have faith in Duggan to resolve the story with dignity and respect for her character. I have no doubt the Red Queen will live to fight again sooner rather than later. In the meantime, I'm very much looking forward to how the characters deal with her absence and the evolution of the conflict within the Hellfire Trading Company. Read Full Review
The way we are finally let into the truth is actually tragically perfect, just as its perfectly tragic. Which is how death often hits. It isnt always immediate but sometimes creeps up on you and surprises you, right when you think you have a handle on it. As such the writing and art skilfully match each other to handle the tricky and often covered subject of death, one that has in the past been a revolving door in the world of the superhero. Overall this issue took us on quite the emotional rollercoaster. Will Kate be resurrected? We will just have to wait and see. Until then it looks like the Marauders might raise a little hell. This is definitely a must read series. Read Full Review
The quieter moments are also ones that I am increasingly a fan of howStefano Caselli handles. This is his second issue on the book and hegives us some beautiful panels, while really capturing emotions of thecharacters to enhance Duggan's words. Marauders #8 may not be themost event-heavy issue of this series yet, but it's by no means lesserfor it. Read Full Review
Overall, readers will be pleased with this issue. Almost every recent question is answered while Duggan makes the junctures count, has substance, and holds merit to the story, which is rather difficult to do with a group of people that can basically resurrect themselves. Read Full Review
"Marauders" #8 tells the worse case scenario of a cautionary tale. Read Full Review
Some truly stellar scenes, both action and emotional, make for another standout issue of Marauders. Read Full Review
Who knew Iceman could be so scary?
I'd never expect that one of the most amazing X-Men stories were going to be told under a the title "Marauders".
I thought this did a really nice job of depicting the grief felt by the Marauders, Bobby and Ororo especially, when they find out about Kate's death. Though she died two issues ago and we kind of skipped over it completely in the last one, I thought this did a great job of finally following up on that. This was the best issue yet.
Very emotional issue. It was great seeing how everyone dealt with Kate's death. Especially liked the confrontation between Ororo and Emma.
The best part of the issue is when Iceman gets a little upset.
This was a great issue. Emotional and with fantastic character moments. Maybe the best Marauders yet.
Prelude:
Marauders took quite a considerable drop last issue, I'm hoping it's improved from that.
The Good:
I love how everyone is reacting to Kate's death in their own way. Really shows these characters off.
Caselli's art is great.
The infographics were great. Always love getting Sinister Secrets.
The Bad:
Cliffhanger doesn't do much for me.
Conclusion:
A return back to form for Marauders. I love how everyone is reacting to Kate's death and can't wait for Shaw to get what he deserves.
Marauders 8 is a very solid issue and a huge improvement from last issue. Duggan finally cuts to the chase and the Marauders find out about Kitty’s death. Bobby unleashes his full power, something of a rarity even though he’s an omega level mutant. Caselli’s art is great as usual.
Fenris in the building.... Oh no.. Former.Hydra as a BlackKnight??? Not good. Also.. Kate is really Dead WTF???? Heads gotta roll!!
It's the team reacting to Kate's death. Solid character work -- particularly Bobby's fury and Ororo's grief -- makes up for a slight shortage of plot development. All these steps are good, but I can't escape the feeling that the same beats could, somehow, be made grander.
" Kill no man... That is mutant law. ... But an eye for a eye-- is Man's law. "
- ICEMAN
Out of all the Dawn of X books so far, the two series that have been consistently great for me have been Marauders and X-Men. Both feel like they are the only ones that have major consequences for characters and progress the entire plot of Dawn of X forward. X-Force, New Mutants, Excalibur are all fine, but they feel like side stories to capitalize on Dawn of X (they definitely aren't bad, don't twist my words). This issue continues revelations from Kitty's death, and it's great to see all the character moments from Iceman, Storm, Emma, and Bishop. Continues to be a great pull
Cool, though not as cool as Iceman’s poor victims.
Emma was such a nice lady in this issue. The takes on Bobby and Ororo were also good. Keep doing your thing Duggan.
some great stuff here: Iceman, storm slapping emma
Iceman is badass, Emma is great. Also - Lockheed!
"To me, my Marauders"
Never thought I'd say this but Iceman scared me in this issue. That "eye for an eye" bit, bad guys breaking their fingers when trying to pull the trigger? Dammit, man.
The sisterly moment between Emma and Ororo was great and I just can't wait for someone to wipe that smug smile of Sebastian Shaw's stupid face.
Stefano Caselli's art is always great.
Big Improvement from the last issue. Still dont get what all the hooting and hollering is about tho. This series is decent when its at its best. Bobby was cool here. Really the best part of the issue other then the lil dragon ending.
Better than the last one.
