Genuinely one of the worst comics Ive ever read.

Disappointing. Remenders one of my favorite current writers but it literally feels like he phoned this one in. Sadly one of the worst comics Ive read in a while.

More of the same from last issue with a few shining Tony moments.

Two issues in a row of bad art by good artists. Its almost as if they creative team asked the artists to draw a certain style which doesnt match their own.

A fun issue made better by strange and wonderful art. Someone hand Bertram an ongoing series please.

Ultimately a good read but in no way worth the price tag.

If for nothing else, read it for the "Resovoir Dogesque" opening scene involving the original Nick Fury.

Jarring artist swap but overall good book

Great issue but the bouncing between artists hurt it a bit.

Entire issue of exposition with not the most solid art. Though it felt rushed, in the end I like the story and ideas presented.

Disappointing. I feel like I missed an issue where crying was made relevant, the Governesse was given a true motive, and The Generals opinion was drastically changed. I didn't. I get the finale was intentionally vague, but that vagueness felt in contrast to the overall run. I definitely agree it ended too soon. The information dump in this issue needed another 10 issues to be alluded to. It made the things that were referenced fall flat due to the excess new information. With the way the series was built to this point, it felt like the resolve would be one simple answer instead of a very long exposition. The art was amazing, as usual, even if it failed to properly articulate Dr. Archers explanation ( which I'm convinced would be an impossible task, even with that beautiful DNA strand page).

I can't remember ever being so angry and heartbroken over the end of an issue as this one. In other words, this comic achieves what it sets outs to do. If you've still been seeing Skinner as some kind of antihero up to this point (how could you?), that should end here.

Was that the TARDIS?

This could have been a perfect one shot or annual. Self contained story which not only builds on the separate series but the overall American Vampire mythos. Sounds like the description of a near perfect comic, and it is. Having just read this issue for the first time, it proved Snyder can execute an entire issue of exposition perfectly,which makes me even more depressed about the last issue of The Wake.

Now THATS a comic.
