BADASS

This was SO. FUCKING. GOOD. I almost cried.

DA SHIT

Spectacular!

Damn! This run is spectacular! I really like how it plays with Marvel mythology. Yes, it's a reimagining of "Future Imperfect", but a bloody good one!

This is probably my favourite What If/Elseworld ever.

A really futuristic take on the Marvel Universe. I'd love to see a regular series about this.

Nick Spencer is like, I mean, totally my bitch. Right? He has to be. Kinda like a cool Alan Moore to chill out and root for characters. I mean, not everything has to be Watchmen, right? Right.

So so good for anyone interested in urbanism, capitalism and/or alienation. Disturbing in a good way.

Why is this series -- SO -- FUCKING -- GOOD???? It doesn't make any sense!!!!! Tom Taylor is DA MAN!

If this were drawn by Alex Ross (e.g.), it would be the best DC story of all times. Not that the actual art is bad, though.

This arc has been excellent!

I'm in!

Yes, it is as good as they say.

What a charming little story!

That was unexpectedly good!!

Seriously, dudes --best series on the shelves!!!! Buy ittttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!! Amazin' characters, who could've thought Boomerang could be one of the greatest Marvel characters of all times. This is the only book that truly makes me laugh out loud. Lieber is THE PERFECT CHOICE for the art. Seriously. Buy it. We need to tell Marvel this is the kind of shit they should be producing.

Damn!!!!!! This is really fun!!!!

This is not revolutionary, nor ground-breaking, and still it's so good.

If this comic book had be written by Grant Morrison, everybody would be talking about it. This is a lot like Astro City, extremely meta and kind of an 'inside joke' about the history of comic books. Art is excellent. You should really be reading this one.

Best comic book series at the moment.

Fantastic, fantastic series.

I shall repeat myself: best comic book series at this particular moment in time. Too bad it ended (for now).

What an unexpected gem!

Lovely!

I like the idea of giving small glimpses of alternate universes, but I'm afraid this story is getting a little bit repetitive.

A psychological issue about the mind of Doom. Nice, but nothing special, this has been done before multiple times.

Interesting, but perhaps too cold to be engaging. Wood and Smallwood need to chill out a bit, they are being too rational. This has a lot of potential, but lacks something.

Some things don't make the slightest sense. Anyway, great visuals.

This is a good comic-book. I don't say that often.

Art is incredible, for sure, but the ending is not completely rewarding. There is no real conclusion here, and the shock value is not so actually shocking. Box thing is a bit nonsensical if you think it for a minute. But this is a good mini-series, no doubt.

As good as the first issue, but... part three will be released in 'late 2018'?????? How is that huge time gap even possible??? I'll have to re-read the whole thing again by then.

Quite funny, but Pym is a little out of character, and the battle against the robots is weak. Last page is a little nonsensical. Anyway, I love Spencer's writing.

Interesting series, but nothing too exceptional. Fist issue was enigmatic and atmospheric, which was great, but this second issue is leading us to a more conventional prison drama. I mean, if you take the supernatural stuff out, this is just another 'great scape' trope. The art is pretty good, though, even if some human figures are oddly drawn at times. By the way, I like Black Bolt better when he can't speak, I think it's a mistake that the writer has him speaking in this series.

It's good, but focuses too much on the trendiest characters of the Marvel Universe, instead of trying to build a unique story. Also, I dislike how much this borrows from Guardians of the Galaxy the movie.

I'm glad this is good again.

Bunn writing is ok but Walta is the one stealing the show.

Very nice art and a story that, being basic superhero stuff, was interesting to read. Despite being a book about girls, it wasn't toxic towards men as usual. Harley Quinn was well-handled, being charismatic but not obnoxious. What I didn't like was this being yet another story about time travellers and the end of the world (enough with that already!).

Don't get me wrong, this series is still very good. It's just that I liked it better at the beginning and I think it has lost almost all momentum. I am a little tired page after page of Scott and Big talking. I think this story needs something *more* to be really memorable.

Interesting change of pace, but I'm not particularly pleased by this issue. Some things didn't make any sense. Let's see where it goes from here.

Could please any writer move this character beyond his original concept? I'm tired of this Void struggle. It's always the same story with this guy.

This book is ok but needs a little more meat to it. Too simple for now.

The Walking Dead #140 Apr 9, 2015

I liked this, which is saying something due to the current status of Marvel comics. The Maker is a great villain and he holds the narrative all by himself. What I certainly don't like is the robot-like nature of Hickman's dialogues. Everyone speaks like an android. Also I don't like how Hickman jumps from one scene to another leaving the reader confused, he does that a lot.

This is very similar to Deathstroke. Good art but average story. There is nothing in this issue that makes me want to read the next issue. Any literate person could've written this. Besides, I don't know much about this character but I suspect the handsome-father-with-a-dark-secret thing is not going to work. I suspect this could get cancelled pretty soon.

Folks, let's be honest. This is a convoluted mess.

Oh boy, do I hate time travel.

Weakest issue so far.

The art is great. That's where the fun ends. SPOILERS!!!!!!!! So I don't know if I'm getting this right, but it seems like in the first pages, and off-panel, the continents break, the moon is destroyed, Vandal Savage is killed and Swamp Thing fixes the continents again. Is all of this real, or just a dream, or what? Because none of these world-shattering events feel important or meaningful at all. Continents breaking should have killed millions of people and destroyed civilization. Moon exploding should cause chaos in sea cycles and night animals. Batman has planted enough bombs in the moon to blow it up and no League member raises an eyebrow. Swamp Thing is so overpowered now that he is basically God at this point. Vandal Savage, one of the most important villains in the DC Universe, gets killed in an anticlimatic way, like a sidenote. Am I the only one seeing all of this????? Perhaps nothing is really happening and it's all a dream? I don't understand.

I think this issue was trying to be *too clever*. Like look-at-me-I'm-a-genious clever. Don't try so hard, Tom. All momentum is just gone. There is no tension. It's just a conversation with beatiful drawings. We feel nothing and everything that happens here can be summarized in just one sentence.

I don't like where this is going, I drop the series for the moment. This is not nearly as exciting as Warren Ellis' run, no wonder how Ellis is more famous than Wood. (Shalvey was also greater than Smallwood.) Plot is full of political bullshit too big for a character like Moon Knight, and many things don't make the slightest sense. I realize this is still better than most comics, but still not good enough for me.

Wow, this was awkwardly anticlimatic. So cold and rushed. There are a lot of plot holes (like, a lot), but I don't care enough to elaborate (e.g., how is Konshu so easily fooled? He looks like an idiot now, despite being a god). Art is very good, though.

This is a review for the whole series. This is a mildly entertaining story with good art, but there are several things very wrong with this book: - Old people don't look or talk like old people at all, they are just young people with white hair. This is specially true for Kate, who has the body of a teenager. Clint is still strong as fuck, has the body of a bodybuilder and can jump like an Olympic athlete. Besides, they don't sound like elderly people, they still talk like a bunch of millenials. It pulls me out of the story. - This is completely derivative from Millar's story. It follows the same topics --only worse. Besides showing post-apocalyptic versions of various Marvel characters, he brings nothing new to the table. - Speaking of Marvel characters, at times this story feels like the Handbook of the Marvel Universe. It is very easy for Sacks to grab our attention just by throwing a bunch of beloved characters at us --but he forgot to write a compelling story around them. For instance, Old Man Bullseye is cool, but I couldn't care less about Old Man Venom. - And last but not least, the fact that this is a prequel ruins any suspense.

Surely it's entertaining to finally read a book without any characters from the movies (you know what I mean) and without any gimmick, just a plain old superhero story. BUT the story is super confusing. Why do these characters meet in the first place? Why everyone hates Deathlok for no reason? Why do they all stand for Conan? Do they know him? I don't understand!

This is a typical Hickman: at first it seems like a grander-than-life story too clever to comprehend by mere mortals. But, taking a step back, you realize that it's just a bunch of pseudo sci-fi nonsense written by a nerd, too detached, grandiose and abstract too give a fucking damn about it.

I can't believe the reviews. This is pretty stupid and extremely out of character for Banner.

What is this stupid nonsense.

Drawing genitalia gets an automatic zero rating.

This is where I drop this series. Fuck crossovers, man. You can't make me buy another series to know what is happening in this one. You just can't. Poor Bunn, he must be pissed off. Besides, what Magneto does in this chapter is ridiculously unbelievable.

STOP MAKING THE 616 UNIVERSE MATCH THE MCU

Zero plot. Boring endless dialogue. Exposition dumping. Lazy art. Stupid nonsensical shit. Say what you want about Bendis, but Dissasembled, House of M and Siege are way better than Secret Wars.

Stop embarrasing yourself, Marvel.
