With the creative team of Donny Cates, Nic Klein and Matt Wilson we were obviously going to be onto a winner. The amount of love and passion the three of them have for this project is abundantly clear. This is shaping up to be one of, if not THE, best runs on Thor. And I can say this with certainty despite only being three issues in. That’s how good it is. Read Full Review
Thor #3 is an all-out brawl, and it's one that doesn't disappoint. Read Full Review
This is a true battle between masters of their craft and weaponry. The art evokes the swordplay of Jim Cheung's Scion and the emotion of the battle on Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith. The team of Donny Cates and Nic Klein take Superhero Action to the level of true artistry. The simple plot and incredible execution leads to conflicts, characterizations and visual dynamism which any child or grown-child will read and reread for generations. Read Full Review
I'm not the type to give in to hype, but right now this book is the hype! After these past three issues, it is much easier to say that this series is still in good hands. Thor #3 was Earth-shattering for the position that Thor is put into when confronted for his decision to help Galactus of all people. Read Full Review
If youve been on the fence about THOR since Jason Aarons run ended or were merely interested in finally trying out the character, this may be the perfect issue to get you hooked. Read Full Review
Every appearance by Beta Ray Bill makes a comic better, especially when he's written and drawn so well. Lots of exciting moments! Read Full Review
This is without a doubt the best popcorn comic on the stands right now. Kick your feet up and enjoy what is becoming one of the most aggressive and loud comics on the stands. Read Full Review
Thor #3 was every bit as dramatic and haunting as fans were led to hope. We may have known this fight was coming (courtesy of the conclusion from Thor #2), but there really was no way to prepare for what actually happened. Read Full Review
At the end of the day, this was a fun issue, but it slows the story down to a glacial pace. In three Chapters, Thor and Galactus have traveled to the first of five planets they need to find, and proceeded to fight over how theyre going to do the job, despite having discussed all of that before starting their journey. This pacing cannot keep up. The fun of this story should be in moving along to each planet, and encountering difficulties as they go, but not at the slow crawl of 3 issues a planet with little-to-no development. While the fisticuffs of this chapter were fun enough, and the outcome somewhat unexpected, story progression must come soon. Read Full Review
Nic Klein has been putting in workkkkk from the jump. Like the 2 issues before it, the opening pages of this book are absolutely breathtaking and sport some of the coolest pages I've ever set my eyes on. Cates has created a version of Thor that breathes life into the God of Thunder and creates some actual urgency for a God so strong he has bested Galactus twice now. Read Full Review
Thor #3 is a really fun issue in this series and gives the reader a bit of a break from the heavy story to give a downright brutal fight. Read Full Review
"Thor" #3 is another solid chapter for the new direction in the Odinson's continuing adventures. Read Full Review
Klein delivers some beautiful art in this issue. The battle was beautifully detailed and thrilling. I love the visual style Klein is utilizing in this series. A great looking issue. Read Full Review
A decent issue... I wish was an excellent issue. Read Full Review
The art this issue is grand, shimmering with vivid colors of battle while cates accompanies it will heavy words of two old friends making their hardest choice. Thor feels like a king making choices he knows only people who are worth their kingship make, but it i love how the actions of him calls to what is the cost?
The writing and art here are top-notch. A really amazing issue.
Yikes.
i dont even read comics and this is good
and for the second round we have .....Must read.
Another amazing issue. Great characterization, and that's a God of Thunder.
Another excellent issue, bringing back the power and honor of the Thunder God.
Man this book is just so good. The entirety of this issue was Thor facing Beta Ray Bill, and it was done extremely well. Over the course of the issue, the two of them argue about Thor's current alliance with Galactus, and both of their sides are completely understandable. Along with the great story, Klein once again kills it on the art. This book is just firing on all fronts and I absolutely love it.
Prelude:
I've been loving Cates' Thor and he has done a good Beta Ray Bill before so let's see how he goes in this issue.
The Good:
Beta Ray Bill is great here.
Sif to the rescue.
Thor... oh man Thor was great.
Klein's art was great as well as Wilson's colours.
The Bad:
Nothing.
Conclusion:
Such a great issue. Love the fight, the art, the characters, the colours. Everything.

- BETA RAY BILL
Thor 3 is an all out 3-way cosmic slug fest between Thor, Galactus, and Beta Ray Bill. Also, the last page promises to make it a 4-way next issue with the return of Sif. What more could you ever want?
Yet another example of D-Cates killing it. The only reason it doesn't get a 10 from me is the fear in the back of my head that they [SPOILERS] only broke Stormbreaker so that they could make a new one that looks more like the one from the movies. I hate when they change comic stuff because of movies.Like what they did with the Guardians of the Galaxy and when they gave Spider-Man organic webs, or when they shoved X-Men and FF under the rug because they couldn't make movies. If this happens with Stormbreaker, I'll probably drop this series, which would be a shame because it's REALLY good so far.
I won't say that it's a worthy equal to the best of the Simonson issues, but … that's where the creators are clearly aiming, and by Volstagg's mighty footstool, they may yet get there.
From chaotic destruction into all out action. Beta-Ray Bill comes to face the King of Thunder. Yet again, another high stakes, grand cosmic Norse epic accompanied with gorgeous art and vibrant colors from Klein and Wilson. Dialogue handled so well by Cates, especially with the top notch action in this book. And the cliff-hangers. My lord.
Aw man poor Bill.
Once again, Donny cates and Nic Klein deliver a dynamic, action packed comic book. In this issue, the plot centers around Beta Ray Bill vs Thor, as Bill believes Thor is a traitor for helping Galactus. The panels are astonishing, with Klein delivering several detailed splash pages depicting the battle. I also appreciated Klein's rework of Bill's costume, as I like the new design. Cates provides some solid work but the plot does not advance much in this issue. However, the action is great and there is an interesting twist at the end. 9/10
"Through is the only way"
I'll keep it short. This was excellent. Both in writing and art.
Excellent.
Damn you Cates. You got me hooked when when I thought I was done with an Aaron run, again... Please don’t pull a Strange and bail early on this one as well. 🍻
Bill!
Man, this series just gets better and better...
As king, Thor's had to make some tough choices for the greater good, and it might have just cost him two of his closest friends.
the Beta Ray Bill battle was plush. Stormbreaker broken.... wow. Sif to the rescue? we shall see
I feel the emotional pain of the characters as I read this.
Does anyone else feel these covers are truly Unworthy of the title? Last two covers have been really lame looking... Luckily whats inside is much better. Classic brawl but it will not disappoint visually. Dialogue however is not consistent and to me it felt like Cates is still getting to know Thor when it comes to his voice. I really hope Thor puts Sif in her place as King he cant have the ones he trusts interfering and undermining his authority. I hope Cates really makes Thor a bit more evil. I get a more ruthless vibe from Cates Thor and I love it, I just hope its not a gimmick.
Great. The visuals are all there, even if the fight is a little dumb and over the top-ish. I like this run so far, but I'm still not as hooked as most people seem to be. The fight seemed a little dragged out and served no real purpose, as the ending shows another fight between two allies for the next issue. I get that modern comics are meant to be decompressed and filling these issues with fights is sure to be exciting, but I was hoping for a little more clarity about the Black Winter and what/who it is. For now, it seems like it'll be fight after fight. The art is great though, I loved the details and that splash page of the 2 year war.
Thor vs Beta. It was a good fight with a new dynamic. The art was killer.
It's good. But it's also an issue long fight scene. And why do I have strong feelings of "the road to hell is paved by good intentions" about this story?
