One word: Confusing. I believed a scene was a flashback and I only understood it wasn't pages after it. Larroca is still doing his thing, saddly it's not very good. But the coloring is fine. And I like how Johnson is expanding on the Alien mythology.

I love how real these characters are. Me and my cousins are kinda like that. The art gives a manga and not a comic vibe, it's not bad, it's just not that fitting.

This looks like it's going to be huge and I like how all the stories are conected. Looking forward to the next.

Johns is a legend. But this is very boring, probably the worst Johns book I read. Tood Nauck's ugly art doesn't help.

I don't like the art but the colors are very well done. The idea of Mr Miracle as a brand is interesting, the soial commentary is also nice. It looks like the villain will be good.

I like the takes on the characters, even if Damian is horrible. Saddly Melnikov isn't really good. Maybee it gets better.

It's getting better. The art and the colors are still very good and Sheridan is slowly improving, even if I don't like his takes on 60% of the Titans. I also want to read Crush's story, I like that character.

Sampere and Lucas are great. And Johnson is doing a good job. Saddly the backup holds this issue back.

It appears Tamaki is planning something huge and different, I like that. I also like her takes on Huntress and Lady Clayface. Saddly Mora and Bellaire are not as good as in the previous issues. But that'll probably change.

Stephanie Philips is a good writter, she knows how to use pannels better than most and has a few interesting ideas. But it's just not working. And on top of the lame plot we have Rossmo's art, it's different and I respect it, but it's not beautiful to look at.

Good dialogue. Good artwork. Good characters.

Not as good as the last one. But Ridley and Camuncoli do their job. Perhaps it was my mistake to expect this issue to be about everyday latino struggles since Renee is also an LGBT woman. Still good.

This one is as good as the first.

The artwork is still great. But the story was a rather confusing.

The art is beautiful and so are the colors. But the dialogue needs improvement.

Man, the art and the colors here can't get enough praise, perfection would be the right word. The take on Barbara is still great, she caring, badass and smart. There is a cool fight scene that was creative. Saddly this issue felt a bit short.

Ok. This wasn't a bad take on Brazil, it's not like that, but it's not a bad. Joelle's art is amazing, as always. But this issue felt short

Great world-building. Artwork and colors are top notch.

The art is good and I like the plot.

It was OK. Nothing great, besides the take on Jonah. But it's not bad, you can have fun with it.

Pasqual Ferry is really good, he can draw some brutal stuff. And we all know Zdarsky, he knows how to writte a good story.

I like murders on isolated islands and murders with ties to the occult.

Lots of action in this one. There are also a few good jokes, like the dirty dancing one. The Zapatas are also funny and Norah is smart. As you can tell, I liked it.

Batman: Black & White (2020) #6 Jun 29, 2021

It was great. Tamaki writting a good story with Cass. There is a good story with Connor. Liam is back. The Robin story had great artwork. Dustin Nguyen drew something. Grace Choi is back. And Emiko's story was entertaining.

Good art is always nice. It's even better when the writting is fine, not stelar but not bad either.

Tynion is doing great. March is at his best. But I can't give a higher rating to this because of the backup.

The art is amazing, but the plot is losing itself, cringy dialogue and a lame take on Diana can be found in this issue. But I liked the twist.

The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries (2021) #3 Jun 15, 2021

The idea behind the villains is great, but it's like Calendar Man, a great idea, but it's hard not to make it look goofy. However I like the take on Henry. Kubert's art is always weird for me, in some pannels he is doing a great job, in another he is terrible. However there is a lad that has been doing a great job, whoever is in charge of the colors is killing it.

I used to say that the 3 best DC books right now were Wonder Woman, Urban Legends and Nightwing. Now I can say Urban Legends isn't one of them. The Red Hood story has a good start, Batman being nice to Tyler and actually trying to help Jason instead of attacking him. Sadly, all the great job Zdarsky was doing stops here. It starts slowly with Crane not being the one that created the chemical that turned him into a legend ir with Jason being terrible at investigation even if he spent years working with Batman (you can be stuborn but there are limits). Then we have the most common mistake writters make with flashbacks and Jason, Jason attacking thiefs, I remember three instances where Jason was violnet during Jim Starlin's Batman run: one was with a rapist, one with a pimp and one with a serial killer, all terrible bastards, Jason had to steal to survive for many years, if there is a vigilante that would go easy on robbers it is Jason. Lady Shiva's story had a bad start because of it's terrible art and dialogue but I must say I liked the ending. Outsiders was alright, ignoring it's bad ending and Rob Liefeld looking art. By this time I was 100% done and didn't read the Grifter story, even if the artwork tends to be good in this one.

I like how Johnson writes the father/son dynamic beetween Clark and Jon but the story feels generic. On top of that, the art and colors were not as good as they were last issue, they are mediocre in here.

This looks like it will be good, but we all know Bruce and Clark will eventually get along. But it's a nice comic.

Giant-Size X-Men (2020): Nightcrawler #1 May 15, 2021

It's average. The art is ok. And the plot seems good, but I can't care about anyone that isn't Sinister, Psylocke ir Havok.

The art is good. The plot isn't that interesting but it can be.

Artwork is still great. But the Black Tom part could get more developpement and Beast needs to stop being a psycho and he needs to take responsability for his actions.

Great artwork and writting. I loved to see all of these japanese mithologycal beings making cameos. And we also get a nice bit of character developpement.

Luca Casalanguida did an awfull job here. But Christos Cage did mostly well, I say mostly because that sex scene was laughable but it's minor.

Right Now, we don't know much about the plot, but it can evolve into something great. Good astmosphere. Good social commentary. One of the highlights is the deduction thing going on, reminds me of Sherlock. The art could have been way better, it's not beautiful, at all. And the colours are as bland and lame as they could be.

I can see it getting better, but the plot and art failed to drag me into this world. Everybody is kind of a jerk. But hey, I like bodyguard stories, and the next issue will be one of these.

Art and colours are still great. But that sister plot twist was very predictable. And would also like to know why do a retcon if it is not as good as the original idea?

Jimenez keeps doing magic, and he gets backup in the colours. I was surprised by Miracle Molly, she seems like an actual character and not a sketch that got taken way to seriously (Punchline). Even if the atempt at social commentary with her was pretty bad. However this issue gives me enough reasons to belive that Tynion wanted to writte a Cyberpunk 2077 book instead but got denied. Now, let's review the backup feature. The universe is infinite and there are billions of humans on Earth, but if 5 of us care about Ghostmaker that's a lot. If someone was kind enough to tell me what is this character's appeal I would deeply apreciate.

I liked Slott's story, a good tale of paranoia. The second story was alright, but it had great artwork. The third was weak but not bad.

I know Geoffrey Thorne hates Hal Jordan, but we must stop acting as if that made a bad story. But brother, that was boring. However the colours were pretty dope. Now for the big question. Why on Earth do american writters always put latino characters speaking in spanish with guys that probably don't speak spanish, I know Lantern rings translate stuff and all of that, but would Thorne put a lantern speaking in vietnamese if they were from Vietnam? Probably not. I am writting this review in english because I know most don't speak my language, so why can't Thorne do the same with Green Lantern?

Art is good, but Scarecrow looks a goofy dude. The story is alright, it's just not on the level of the last issue.

There are good things here, like the characters, they all have their own personalities and that's great. The colours are also good. The only thing bothering me os Red X, he looks like of the nothing characters Tynion created in his Batman run.

This is the type of book that I can see going to the Einsner Awards. The first pages already set the tone. And man, the art and the colours are a perfect match. I loved how this issue gives you a totally different perspective of the Green. The take on Ivy is different.

Everybody appears to love this book, so it's probably just not for me, you might enjoy this one. It's just that I don't laugh at the jokes.

Tte plot is nice, it can lead to a place Superman has yet to go. Daniel Sampere and Adriano Lucas make an amazing art team. I skipped the backup.

Packed with great atwork and bad writting

When I heard that Mariko Tamaki was going to writter this book I was happy. I wondered what a good writter like her would do, I was almost sure it would be something original. Right now we have Batman Vs the Mayor and the GCPD and Batman and zombies. The first one got old years ago and the second one doesn't seem fitting for the Dark Knight. But I guess we have to work with what we can. The art is still great, not that much on the backup but it isn't bad. Speaking of the backup, I must thank Tamaki for not messing things up with Huntress, writters usually make mistakes with her and while this doesn't seem great, it's not bad.

That was bad, like really BAD. Alright, so the mayor doesn't trust Batman but he trusts Hugo Strange, that's just stupid. During the first issue I didn't like the art but belived it was just a preference thing, now I can clearly say it isn't, it's just bad. The colours are also bad. The only good thing is the use of pannels.

I had never read Shadowman before, but I liked what I just saw. The world seems interesting and I liked Samedi. Art is alright, colours could be better.

The characters are still good and so are the colours. The art is average. Not as funny as the last issue.

Rafael Sandoval is skilled. We have good colours and I must say the ending left me wanting to read the next one. And the New kids got a little bit of personality. On the other hand, this Red X bullshit is annoying me and unless he is Shazam he should not have been able to toss Dick to side like he did. Dialogue sucks in this one.

7.5
The Marvels (2021) #1 May 9, 2021

It's decent. I liked the way this one ended. And I belive Williamson won't make the same mistakes DC writters keep making when it comes to Ravager. And Melnikov lacks consistency, in one pannel the art is good and in the other it sucks.

This issue is a little bit better because we get some worldbuilding and character developpement.

I judged Connell's art way to harshly in the issue's review. It's not Mignola, but it's not bad. The plot is more dynamic, in the last issue, almost nothing happened, in this one there is stuff going on all the time.

The writting is very cliche but I like the characters. The art isn't for me but the colours are good.

Larroca's art isn't great, but it's better than it was last issue. The plot is also better, because now the main character has an objective. But remember all the badass soldiers we saw in "Aliens", don't think you'll find anything like that here, the soldiers in this comic suck, they are pretty awfull at their job.

All the stories are good and have great artwork. My favorite was the one by Ram V, even if it's plot twist is predictable. I probably would have given a higher rating if I liked Carnage.

There are two stories. I liked both. But the first one had well crafted characters and an amazing art that reminds me of Stjepan Sejic (this might be the biggest compliment I can give to an artist). The second was also a nice one.

I like how this expands on the speed force and it's nice to see Booster and Beetle have a legacy in the future. However this issue was a little bit boring. When the heroes are in the future, the art is good. On the other hand, it's a little ugly when they are in the present.

The takes on characters like Adam, Hippolyta and Batman are on point. The art is good. There are a few good moments like Aquaman telling kids that Batman and Superman are adorable. And Ragmam os back! If there is a writter that can write this character well, it has to be Ram V.

Redondo and Lucas are still on point with their work. And Taylor is good but this issue wasn't as good as the last one. The takes on Babs and Dick are good. And can Cass show up?

3 good stories and 2 bad stories. It's average.

Ram V clearly loves Selina as a character. Fernando Blanco is very talented. And I don't even need to talk about Jordie Bellaire. However there is a character Ram V doesn't seem to love that much, and it's Riddler. Why is Ed a drug adict?

This is way better than what I expected! I liked the characters, I like plots that involve cults and the artist does a decent job.

Art and colours are on point. And the plot is interesting, supernatural horror with something else, we don't know yet.

The idea is good. A group that hunts the people Batman has saved can work in the hands of a man like Taylor. We know the story takes place in the UK and Batman talks about Costantine, can he show up? I liked the two characters that Taylor created in this issue. Andy Kubert's art is hard to talk about, in one page it's amazing, on the next is bad. Not consistent at all.

The ending was great on this one. I liked how this issue gives us more information about SPECTRE. The art is weird. Casalanguida is great at drawing buildings and objects. But he is terrible at drawing human beings.

I am sorry for way I treated the art last issue, it's great. I loved how the plot was made, with the Sheriff interviewing the guards.

The setting is very good, and the characters are mostly real. The comentary about the music industry is well done. However, I could not care about any of the characters that got a dreadfull fate, so when the story is near it's ending I was just like: "Okay".

Phil Noto continues to amaze me with his art. The colours are fantastic. While the plot isn't that interesting, I like the take on Armor.

Emma is such a badass. Even Pyro was badass in this issue. I know Kate is coming back, but I don't know how, that's where I hope Duggan will do something different.

It's alright, but didn't really do anything to me. These issues are more interesting when Rod Reis is drawing.

Seeing the mutants take care of each other is nice. I never really cared about Sage, but I am liking Percy's take on her. The same goes for Kid Omega and Black Tom. Joshua Cassara's art is another highlight.

This one is interesting, the plot can lead to some nice places.

Not as good as the last issue, but it's still fine.

The art and colours really got better. There is a great use of flashbacks that show us how America became a hero and drifted away of her familly. The fights could be a little bit longer, they don't last more than 2 pannels in this comic.

Bachalo still draws feet like Rob Liefeld, but he is great at action scenes and there's plenty of them, as promissed. Peter and Norah are a nice team and I want to see more of them.

Some might think Peter is being an jerk, but it would be totally natural for him to act that way. I like the take on MJ. The art does the job well and so do the colours.

This one is better, the story runs smoothly and is slightly interesting. The colours are good. The art is mostly good, the snakes are great but Thor's arms are very weird.

Emma was such a nice lady in this issue. The takes on Bobby and Ororo were also good. Keep doing your thing Duggan.

The art is good but this is very boring and seems like a stupid storyline. I wish Percy could do as well as he is doing in X-Force, it's a Shame he isn't.

I still dislike the Pale Girl storyline. But I have to give this issue a star for making me want to read the Cable book.

I love Domino, and this might be the best take on the character. While I am not a huge fan of most of these new X-Men titles, X-Force is different.

Percy is still doing a very decent job. But I think it would be harder to fight against an army of Dominos.

Red Hood's story is still amazing. Oracle had an alright story with amazing artwork Outsiders is getting better and interesting Grifter is still cool, but Grifter beating Red Hood is laughable

The art and the colours are a little better than the story. But the take on Superman is great and worldbuilding is alaways a good thing. But I don't understand what is the villain's plan or what he wants. Ambush Bug is in the backup feature and he is a funny guy.

Out of all the mysteries in Gotham, the gang is after Batman's missing gloves... that's kinda disappointing. But maybee it gets better, we just have to wait and see.

This is the best take on Gordon since No Man's Land. He is a smart, kind and broken man at the same time. Joker is also smart, this can lead to an amazing conflict in the next issues. Barbara os also great in this one. There are good ideas here like the "Network" and a Court of Owls comeback. Guillem March's art is great, his best work yet. But there are a couple things that prevent it from being a 10: I don't like the idea of a new Bane (Minor issue). Man I think I am speaking for almost everybody when I say Punchline sucks, her backup sucks and she is a horrible character that isn't interesting in the slightest..

Still a visual masterpiece. The take on Diana is great and I like her squirrel friend. Dr Psycho is interesting and so is Odin. This might be the most accurate representation of Thor I have seen in comics. The backup feature has beautiful art, it's just not that interesting, I wish they gave it to Donna Troy instead.

When I started reading, I was disapointed because Jill Thompson wasn't drawing. However, while Benjamin Dewey isn't as good as she is, he is doing a decent job, he is especially great at drawing ghosts. The colours are good. It is interesting to see a Beasts of Burden tale right after the end of WW2 in Japan, japanese mythology is very crazy and has a whole lot of potential.

Recently we have seen that Geoff Johns might not be that great of a person. But this Man knows how to make a comic. And then, we have Gary Frank killing it on the art. Visual storytelling at it's finest. Johns is crafting a new world that feels familiar and he is doing great. The main character seems interesting. Looking forward to the next issue.

This séries keeps getting better. While I am not a great fan of the Scarecrow take, it's nice to see him being really smart. Harley was great in this issue, but I would like to see Croc a little more, he tried to help Man-Bat in one of his minisseries. This might be the best Man-Bat story ever, finally someone knows what to do with this character.

Jimenez is always amazing. But man, Tynion needs to go faster or I'll think about dropping a title that I usually love. And it's a shame because I mostly like Tynion, his Detective Comics run was great, I like his JLD and all of that, but this is just lame man. Let's hope the next issue has a better story than this.

I have not read Young Justice League so I'm not familiar with Teen Lantern. But I can say she is a nice character, after reading Titans Academy I belived DC writters had no idea on how to write young people, this issue showed me I was wrong. But man, I would have liked to see a little more of Kyle and Jessica. The art and colours are good. It's just that the story is not grippling yet.

What an improvement from the first issue! This one is funny and the takes on Superboy and Peacemaker are good. Art and colours are still good but I still don't care about the Squad members.

Ram V is expanding the Swamp Thing mithology in such an interesting way. The art fits the story very well.

The plot on this is one is interesting, and I would like to know what comes next. There are 3 artists and 3 colourists in the issue. 2 of the artists do a good job, one of them doesn't. All of the colourists do what they have to do. Green Arrow is important on this one and I love the take on the character.

Maurene Goo shows competence crafting characters, all of them seem real. The character dynamic is great and I am going to love reading about Silk saving Jonah's ass. Right now, I am not a great fan of the artwork, but I can see it evolving.

This was a class about Katana and Asian-American history, and it was one of the best classes I have ever taken. The vocabulary is great, in this issue Ridley used more words than any other DC writter has used in the last years. The art by Camuncoli is the perfect mashup of 80s and 2000s. Read this, You'll not regret it.

Unfortunately Mignola isn't drawing this one, the artwork is in the hands of Bridgit Connell, it's not bad but it's not great. The characters could have been better but I like Sofia and the witch that is with her

Swamp Thing (2021) #1 Mar 30, 2021

The art is great. Pencils and colours are beautiful and fit a Superman story. However Superman is stupid in this one, Jon was in the future, of course he knows what happens next. And the backup feature was horrible. Bland story and atrocius art are not a good combination.

I really wanted to like this. Bishop androids being back is cool and a nice conexion with Aliens. However none of the character is interesting in the slightest, I wish them all to have a slow and painful death. The artist knows how to draw Xenomprphs, sadly that's not the case with humans. It reminds me of Szymon Kudranski's art in Fallen Angels.

This has good and bad things. The Good: the cities are greatly drawn and feel very real, Kate and America have a really nice friendship, America's brother is very cute and the ending left me wanting more. The Bad: Kate and America fight giant moles (as if there were not actual villains in the Marvel Universe that could make the fight interesting), in this scene there is also a fangirl that interviews America while she fight because apparently it is a very smart thing to do (I bet she is the villain), there is a useless Spider-Man cameo (It's not as if he was there to make the book sell more because he is not on the cover. He just shows up, talks and does crowd control), America is not a smart character and I am sure that she would be dead if she was a powerless hero and the dialogue is very bad. It is as unnatural as it could be.

Jorge Jiménez is one of the best artists ever, this man has such talent. It appeares that we are taking Bruce in a totally different direction and creativity is always a good thing. The backup feature with Robin was also pretty nice. The bad things are the colours, the new villain because she seems lame and I am afraid of DC throwing Future State in our faces.

Lovely first issue! The take on Jason is amazing and Zdarsky makes great use of flashbacks to show us how Bruce failed Jason and continues to do so. The pencils and colours are good in all the four stories. The take on the Harley Quinn x Poison Ivy couple is good here and I like how this story is connected to the new Catwoman storyline. I was never a fan of Grifter but this story seems interesting. The only drawback is the Outsiders story, that was very short and doesn't spark any emotion.

The plot is not really that interesting, but I belive Tim Seeley could make me change my mind in the next issue. There are a cool and funny ideas. The colours are good. However the characters are all bland and generic. The ugly artwork is also a very negative point.

There are three stories here in this issue. The first is written by Tini Howard and is boring as hell, the art isn't beautiful either. The second has amazing pencils and is different. After reading it I am hoping Benjamin Percy decides to write a western series like Jonah Hex. The third is written by Al Ewing. The art may not be beautiful but Ewing does something different by turning this issue into a role playing game with Carnage as the main character.

The villains have an interesting plan and that's good, I don't think it has ever been done and I like how it is conected to Urban Legends. The art is very good but I think Selina has a better taste and would not wear such an ugly swinsuit. I have not read the rest of Rebirth Catwoman so I was a little confused, I belive I would have given it a higher grade if I had read the rest. The colours are way darker than they should be but these are my only complains. Looking forward to the next issue.

Dan Mora and Jordie Bellaire make a phenomenal team. One thing I liked about this issue is how Mariko Tamaki writtes the mayor. When he was written by James Tynion IV and John Ridley they just used him as your stereotypical evil mayor, in this issue he is a guy that is seriously concerned for the people of Gotham. Mariko Tamaki also crafts very real characters, I looked at Bruce's neighbours and was like "I know someone exactly like that". The bad part is the backup feature. It ended with a real clifhanger in Batman #106. Here everything is solved easily and makes me realize I overlooked how bad the art is on this one. DC is bringing Connor Hawke back, they are probably going to mess up, a shame. They are also going to include Ravager in the Robin series and that is scary, because I love that character yet DC writters seem to become amateurs when they write anything with her.

Stephanie Phillips wrote a great story with Harley during Future State so I had hopes for this. Sadly the issue starts with average take on Killer Croc, that is a monster that wants to eat people. Right in the begining I also realized the art is mot my thing, I can see why some would like it but it's not for me. However, I must say I loved how the pannels are placed throught the issue and Harley Quinn hearing voices and having to control her violent impulses is something I like. But come on there is now way all of Joker's followers were manipulated, this is shown on Punchline's story in the first issue of Joker.

Art and colours are good on both stories. Ollie and Dinah are finally back on the League! Thank you Bendis. It's sad the plot isn't interesting and that Naomi seems like a bad character with horrible side characters. The JLD story is very bland and I expected more from Ram V.

Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo are doing something special. In one of the first scenes Taylor does the Alfred/Dick relationship better than anyone has ever done. Dick has a nice dog and Babs is amazing. The perfect mix of cute, badass and funny. I like how Blockbuster is going to be a character similar to Wilson Fisk and the Zucco familly will be an interesting enemy. The colours and art are both fantastic. The action scenes are good. And that ending, oh perfect.

I like the part with Zemo, very violent. And it should also be noted that they promisse of being an action tale is kept. But the art is not beautiful, especially the faces. The plot is also bland.

The Mad Cave solicitations list made me belive it would be a serial killer tale, I was sadly wrong. But there are good points such the characters, they are all well established and interesting. The art is iregular, at times it is great at times it is not. The colours are good. I guess I should blame my thoughts on how the comic was marketed.

Let me tell you something really quick, the only good Suicide Squad runs are the ones with character that you root for. Most of them have less personality than a potato sack and the only guy with some personality is an asshole. Lovely. The art and colours are good. But I would like if someone told me what the hell is Superboy doing with them?

The art and colours fit Superman very well and the idea of Clark dying is interesting. The backup feature can improve. But I would like to know how is Waller controling everything. It's a formula that has already been overdone.

I don't seen why people are loving this so much. The first story and last make great use of artwork and colours. "The boy that saved Superman" is a good story. But this issue is packed with bad stories and artwork. The first story could have been good, if there was an actual ending.

Rafa Sandoval is a great artist, that's a fact. But the story sucks. Teen Titan was one of the worst Future State titles, but DC still thought it was a good idea to make this series. None of the new characters is interesting, as a teenager I can say that Tim Sheridan tackled the stereotypes most teenagers hate, we hate this stereotypes because the most annoying teenagers are exactly like that and we like good characters, not annoying cardboard pieces. Brick is the worst. And Shazam was a member of New 52 Justice League, what is he with the Teen Titans?

I was strongly against a Joker ongoing, in a world where Batgirl, Red Hood, John Constantine, Question and Green Arrow don't have their own ongoing why would Joker have one, he is the most overused and overrated character in DC. But this was a good surprise. Gordon is the main character and the take on the character is great. Tynion plans to do something different with Jim and I respect that. Guillem March is showing his talents and this might be his best work yet. Mirka Andolfo is also doing fine on the Punchline backup feature. Good colours are in both stories. Bane becoming a symbol is another idea that can really work. If the story is that good then why don't I give it a higher rating? Because of the Punchline story. I like the art and am glad to see Harper AKA Bluebird is back. But Punchline is the worst character in modern DC history and their are trying to force her popularity. It's sad to see DC is wasting Mirka Andolfo's talent with such a terrible character.

Mariko Tamaki is one of the best writters right now, and this is what makes this book so disappointing. The artist is good drawing cities and animals but he draws Thor in a really weird way. I don't know what is wrong with him but there is something. The bad jokes are everywhere and Loki and Thor have such a bad chemistry.

This is just beautiful. With that artwork and these colours it could have been an artbook. The worldbuilding is great and takes Diana to a different place. (Talking squirrels are always a good think) The only bad part is the backup feature, and it's not even bad.
