Avengers #61is not a total remedy for all the current runs past shortcomings, but its focus on interpersonal drama is a step in the right direction.

Avengers #7 is a dark issue that frames Wanda Maximoff in the center of an unforetold prophecy, perfectly setting the stage for a serious and high-stakes turn of events.

Avengers #8 quickly and effectively gives emotional depth to the heroes' new adversaries, establishing them as morally grey rivals who pose an intimidating challenge.

Avengers #9 feels like a blast from the past with its lengthy action and witty, light-hearted banter, cementing the Twilight Court as worthy foes for the titular heroes.

Avengers #10 brings a classic Avengers villain face-to-face with a brand new threat, doing much to establish Myrridin as an intelligent and cunning foe for the Earth's mightiest heroes.

Avengers #11 is a delightful side quest and reintroduction for the team's most faithful and beloved civilian ally.

Avengers #12 is a stellar tie-in to the ongoing X-Men comics that expands on the global war against Orchis while allowing the protagonists to shine as noble and capable heroes.

Avengers Assemble #1 is a slow and rather rough start to what is meant to be the epic conclusion of the Avengers' current era, stretching a clich hero versus hero fight to an unnecessary length.

There are a handful of emotional moments that may hit hard for the more invested readers, but the rest of Avengers Assemble: Omega does not make for a thrilling finale, or a smooth transition into the team's next era.

Avengers Forever #13taps into the imaginative fun that comes with the concept of the multiverse, provided entertaining action and an unexpected reveal.

Avengers Forever #14 makes for a solid romp overall, and following the exploits of this specific Steve Rogers variant does provide a nice change of pace, but after several issues of non-stop fighting, the fun is admittedly beginning to wane.

The art team of Avengers Forever #15 bring the comic's visuals to new heights, delivering the most stunning issue of this current arc yet.

Avengers 1,000,000 BC provides some of the interpersonal drama and conflict that the current Avengers ongoing has been desperately needing, but does not devote enough time to expanding upon character relationships in any meaningful way. And it certainly does not succeed in making Thor's birth feel like a monumental event.

Carnage #5 places Detective Jonathan Shayde and Cletus Kasady on the back burner to remind you who this comic is really about. Carnage's journey towards godhood takes a more introspective turn that may, for the first time since this series began, leave you rooting for him to succeed...if only out of morbid curiosity.

The scope of Ram V's story continues to grow without ever alienating the readers. For such a wild ride, Carnagehas progressed so steadily that the inclusion of Norse goddesses and mythological creatures doesn't feel jarring in the slightest, which is an impressive accomplishment, to say the least.

Many different parties are now at play in Carnages quest for god-like power. Issue #7 does a fantastic job of elevating the stakes of its narrative while maintaining focus on the lone detective stuck in the middle.

While previous issues have not shied away from gore and disturbing imagery, Carnage #8 fully embraces the conventions of the horror genre for the first time and to great effect.

Carnage #9 establishes the next stage of the titular symbiote's mythical journey, and introduces a mysterious new character who could prove vital to bringing this quest for god-like power to an end.

Carnage #10 gives its titular character a major upgrade and sets the stage for a battle between the deadly symbiote and its former host, making for a solid issue full of tension and dramatic flare.

The long-awaited meeting between Cletus Kasady and newcomer Kenneth Neely finally occurs, delivering substantial drama that adds depth to both characters and builds up anticipation for a reunion between the Carnage symbiote and its former host.

Carnage #12 doubles-down on the dark nature of its characters with an issue that is bound to leave readers on their edge of their seat to see who will come out on top of this conflict, even if they're unsure who to root for at this point.

While Carnage's journey has delved into the realm of fantasy, his former host Cletus has taken a path towards science-fiction, providing a nice change of tone and scenery that makes Carnage #13 feel reinvigorating.

Carnage #14 piles more and more complexity onto the raging street battle between Cletus Kasady and Brooklyn's own Spider-Man, but with the comic's other, more intriguing plotline put on hold, it can't help but feel like Carnage Reigns is a detour that has gone on a little too long.

Carnage #1 brings the titular character back to his roots with the return of Cletus Kassidy while putting an inventive spin on the duo to push them in a horror-inspired direction.

Carnage #2 explains Cletus Kasady's mysterious objective and sets him up for interesting personal struggle, while giving Flash Thompson clearer means to stop him.

Carnage #3 reaches new horrific heights with impressively gruesome violence that will result in major ramifications for both hero and villain alike.

In Carnage #4, Cletus Kasady is an unstoppable force of chaos operating at the top of his game. His showdown with Anti-Venom is an excellent display of the creative team's artistic talent.

Carnage #6 takes a quick, superfluous, but also entertaining detour into Venom's multiverse before delivering another solid chapter of its crime thriller plotline.

While the contents may feel a bit off-kilter for a comic with Carnages name slapped on the cover, Alpha is a splendid highlight reel of all the qualities that make Miles Morales a compelling character, and will most likely convince some readers to pick up Spider-Man's future adventures.

Carnage Reigns caps off this energetic and explosive battle with a hero team-up that provides the most endearing portrayal of Iron Man and Miles Morales in a while, making them a duo that readers will undoubtedly want to see more of in the future.

Death of the Venomverse #1 takes the predictable approach by showing off several symbiotic hero amalgamations, but makes fun enough use of them to justify abundance.

Extreme Venomverse #1 is surprisingly grounded and humble for a comic featuring a character named "Samurai Venom." The writing team avoids the easy route and instead uses the multiverse to offer interesting new perspectives on familiar characters.

Tiger Division #1 takes on the monumental task of establishing not just one, but an entire team of relatively new characters within the Marvel universe. With a somewhat standard yet well-executed narrative, it succeeds in fleshing out its characters and setting them up for a larger, more interesting plot.

Venom #10 takes a dark turn, bringing Eddie Brock face-to-face with his inner demons in an unexpected way.

Venom #11 takes the narrative focus back to Earth, leaving readers in incredible suspense after the dramatic cliffhanger of the preceding issue, while also hinting at further twists and turns that will surely keep you anticipating the next installments of both subplots.

Venom #12 builds upon the dramatic tension of its preceding issue with great effectiveness, and serves as a captivating coming-of-age story for Dylan Brock.

Venom #13 takes a little detour into the realm of Limbo, interweaving its own narrative with some obvious set-up for an upcoming crossover in an impressively smooth way.

Venom #14 drafts Eddie Brock into the conflict of Dark Web, making for a light read with few contributions the the book's main narrative. However, it does deliver on an entertaining confrontation between Venom and X-Men powerhouse Synch, which makes up for most of its shortcomings.

While lacking in substantial story progression, Venom #16 offers enough interesting character interactions to make for an entertaining issue.

The latest chapter in Eddie Brock's odyssey has him battling inner (and outer) demons in the realm of Limbo, leading to a visually stunning battle that makes creative use of wonky time travel logic.

Eddie Brock continues his trippy misadventure through time and space, but the length of the current story arc is beginning to weigh on the comic, threatening to veer it off course.

Centering the latest issue of Venom around Norman Osborne may prove a divisive creative choice amongst fans, but the execution and themes explored make this slight detour feel worth it.

Venom #23 is a straightforward old-school team-up that unites to of the youngest symbiote hosts in the Marvel universe, setting up a brand new mystery and giving Dylan Brock an opportunity to grow as a character.

Through its lengthy action, Venom #24 does a stellar job of establishing how much Eddie Brock and Doctor Doom dislike each other, which is bound to leave readers excited to find out how the rest of their time-travel adventure will play out.

Venom #25 is more of a stealth Doctor Doom comic under the guise of an Eddie Brock-centric story, but it offers enough amusing time travel antics to entertain fans of both characters, and keeps up an enticing pace throughout its double-sized page length.

Venom #26 takes the comic into a drastically different direction, making for a slightly awkward issue that is uplifted by spectacular visual presentation.

Venom #27 stumbles in the development of its latest story arc, but excellent art and the promise of greater things to come with symbiote Black Widow should be enough to maintain readers' interests.

Venom #28 stumbles by sidelining the character of Natasha Romanoff and downplaying the elements of espionage that made this story arc captivating initially.

Venom #29 is an interesting chapter Eddie Brock's storyline that comes a bit too late, throwing off any readers who expected the arrival of a symbiote-empowered Black Widow to usher a new era for Venom.

Venom #30 is a satisfying romp that grants Eddie Brock the strength to strike back against his enemies, but with the sudden arrival of Carnage, Eddie has jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Venom #31 pits Dylan Brock against his father's most fearsome enemy and adds compelling new layers to his relationship with the Venom symbiote.

Venom #32reignites Venom and Carnage's age-old rivalry, but at the cost of throwing the comic's new, original antagonist under the bus.

Web of Carnage bites off a bit more than it can chew by picking up characters and plot threads from other recent comics, leaving little room to give a member of its main cast a satisfying send-off.

What If...?: Venom #1 doesn't exactly challenge the imagination with it's basic alternate history tale, but it does present a unique take on She-Hulk brilliantly brought to life by the artist and colorist.
