My issue with this series is how much of a gimmick it is, which usually works amazingly in Ewing's work, especially notes of mystery, but I find his love for the many characters of the Marvel Universe is making this series more convoluted than charming. It's just not a very engaging concept, or execution, but it's by no means the worst comics I've read. I'd just hope for more from the New face of Venom

The really rough, static art, especially on beast, makes this comic a bit of an eyesore to get through, but the coloring is great and the story is...okay. looking forward to more but not too promising.

Finally some good art in this Ellis Run, killed by more lackluster writing and generic scenarios. There's no thrill or stakes to these comics, no cohesion to these characters, and Caps potrayal is so boring compared to his writing in runs at the time, like Avenging Spider-Man, or Daredevil.

The DRASTIC quality increase is so left field, some of the best art I've ever seen in a comic, and a very well constructed plot that plays on characters strengths, particularly Moon Knight

It's okay, some of the writing style can be quite charming, but for a first issue a lot of exposition weighs it down very early.

Beginning of my Sinestro Binge, great first appearance, just a lot of fun

First appearance of the yellow ring, and just a fine addition to the silver age comic line.

Sinestro's return! It's fun, it's gimmicky, I liked it

Sinestro....polling? With his cigar-toting manager? This is lovely and dumb. Hal should find a way around this horrible Yellow allergy he has, because Sinestro keeps playing him for a fool. I love silver age comics, but in comics like Batman, I feel as if the stupid antics can be at least unique or charming, here it's getting a bit repetitive, but I still enjoyed it heavily.

Man what evil shit is Gypo doing to compete with Sinestro's truly "dastardly" deeds. This is definitely the most boring issue yet, but tiny Sinestro at the end is worth it.

Yes, this is the first Sinestro comic in half a decade since his last appearance. Yes, he is a talking car. Don't ask. ALso a debut of some kind of proto-sinestro corps. Doiby is a lot, and honestly drags this issue down a lot for me. His inclusion just feels so odd.

Hey Hal, what's wrong with a black mayor? Also what a drastic improvement not only in art, but in characterization. Hal's ex troubles are funny, especially with her waving some clear red flags, but beyond the gorgeous art there isn't too much happening here.

Sinestro is smarmier than ever, and his team-up with Star Sapphire is a lot of fun. Lots of great art here again, but not too much plotwise, especially since Sinestro's return feels kind of out of place.

Sure, the plot isn't the most riveting, but the art is beautiful, Sinestro's return feels deeply menacing, at least momentarily, and the moments between Green Arrow and Black Canary are just perfect.

Eh, fun Green Arrow moments, but the factors needed to make this a great comic are missing

Alright, there's the payoff, the contrasting ways of operating is so fun to see, Sinestro dressed as a Jester is hilarious, and the rest of the cast just seem to show their relationships between eachother a lot clearer than ever before.

Definetely am missing something (Currently reading every Sinestro comic) but it was alright. The big reveal at the end was awesome.

Reading every comic post 2011, and Waid's Daredevil run proves to be the most promising, engaging story of them all, I cant help but love his portrayal of the ol' DD.

This issue, while poorly reviewed by many on here, is purely necessary. This strong insight into Kira is really emotionally moving and connects to the character. Despite this book being about Dylan, I love the time they take to make us care about the other characters, not just his narrative perception of them. We know Dylan cares about Kira, and we know she cheated on her boyfriend, but little else. This kind of issue helps us understand what there is to love and relate to in her, and how much she actually cares about Dylan. The writing of this series, despite touching on dark and difficult subjects, is breaking away from a Miller-esque edginess that made earlier issues a bit harder to appreciate. So excited for the rest of this series.
