Again, the artwork alone is worth the price of admission for Batman #76! That cover -remember when you first saw Batman broken by Bane" are we in the midst of another crippled Batman? Or is he out for the count and another of his Robins will assume the mantle? This story is like shoving an octopus into a bag. There are so many ways it can go and you can never be sure. Kudos to Tony Daniel's art, but also Tom King has penned a special series!

Again, James Tynion IV delivers a book end set that delivers, and the meat of the comic is also rich! The first story between Joker and Bane is worth the price of admission, but pages 22-23 resonated with me. Sometimes a comic world even in chaos is a better world.

The premise, the art, and the colors in Batman/Dylan Dog #1 are fantastic, but the adventure itself is very formulaic. Future issues need to provide a bit more meat on the bone in terms of why the Joker is even in this particular fight, otherwise, all we have is a combination of Batman and the latest novelty that may be more akin to Austin Powers than John Constantine!

Well… Batman/Dylan Dog #2 doesn't really have a conclusion as much as a cliffhanger. How does this intrepid due get out of Hell? I would imagine by meeting the Devil himself? Recchioni's done an excellent job with the writing in this one, I wasn't expecting the clever humor that I encountered and arguably wasn't really looking forward to reading and reviewing this issue. However…what a rebound! Perhaps with having to catch up American audiences who may not be familiar with Dylan Dog made it the main task for issue #1, but #2 is all go!

If you didn't get The Batman Who Laughs seven issue series or the Grim Knight one shot…shame on you! Get to your nearest comic store and get the back story. Scott Snyder did a lot to plant the seeds, but now Joshua Williamson is behind the wheel. Change is a coming and we already see in the last frame of the story, we are in for quite the ride!

And while the prices have increased from 25 cent to the current market prices, the work is priceless! We are inching closer to the revelation of the entire Sinister Six and TBWL's plan. But to catapult them into a confrontation with inhabitants of Planet Brainiac that look to be doppelgangers of their greatest defeats. This is going to be a book for the ages.

There is a time when all good athletes must retire. And while Mr. Adams can dribble and shoot, he can no longer remember the plays (script). As for Batman Vs Ra's al Ghul #4, leave the script ideas to someone new and keep drawing. His art is awesome. His scripts are not!

This format worked so well for Batman . I have been advocating for Wonder Woman to receive similar treatment in a Gold and Red version, or perhaps Green Lantern with a Green and White. So many heroes and so many stories! This series has been wonderful. Get all six issues as you will not be disappointed.

Okay…the interviews told us that he wanted to explore one more character within this universe. Murphy feels like a little more can be told on this birdy…this Robin that met a different fate at the hands of readers. If I were you, I'd re-read the entire series again…issues 1-8, and then look at the Easter Eggs Murphy provides. And then tell me if you saw this return coming at all. Maybe he even dropped the title to the next part within this issue……?

Batman Secret Files #2 is worth the investment. The stories are solid and each one displays Batman as either a detective, a master of disguise, a brute force against crime or a someone that mad men are queuing up to defeat. This was a great read.

Buy this comic. Batman: The Imposter #2 continues to deliver one of the grittiest and most realistic interpretations of everyone's favorite Dark Knight to ever grace the comics page. The issue starts really strong and heavy with known entities such as Terry McGuinness and Damian (Whew… Batman 666 is going to be an AWESOME story) but it lost me with the Manga incarnation of Cassandra Cain and the Pluto story of a Batman of the distant future. However, you need to pick this gem up if nothing more for the setup of Batman Beyond and Batman 666. Those will be your crown jewels, and you may love the others too!

Batman: Urban Legends #8 continues to be quite the playground for all things Batman-related. I must admit that all this "Future State" and "Fear State" hopping around has become a bit tiresome as I expect comics like this to have some "sand' that fills in the main stories in the pillar books. However, three of the four stories really piqued my interest. Admittedly, I am not a Pyg fan" however, if you put him in the pages of Spawn, well" you may have something there!

Batman: Urban Legends #10 continues to be quite the playground for all things Batman-related. Each story's different but continues to weave a thread of connection among the Bat-Family. I appreciate this title so much as there's a lot to explore with each character. This book is as needed as The Brave and the Bold was when I was a child!

I'm excited to read the next issue of Batman: White Knight Presents Harley Quinn and the next, and the next, and hope this Murphyverse continues to expand. If you have “knot” (there's your clue) read Murphy's prior White Knight series, it would be “good if you did”!

However, this issue had some many layers to it. Harley is a pearl strung together with Ivy, Joker/Jack, Bruce, her children….and her original children. You'll cry!!!

Sean Murphy's universe needs to expand to beyond the Bat Family. His reduction in characters make for a stronger detective storyline that is both a throwback to the pulp novels, but also a treasure of Easter Eggs from storylines gone by. Soon instead of the Snyder Cut, we will ask for a Murphyverse treatment of a Batman movie!

This story arc begins with a return to her roots to finish the mission. Chase scenes, flashbacks, and a corrupt force that seeks to derail Ash and her efforts. Settle back with this book on a rainy afternoon.

Time will tell on Catwoman. After her recent departure from Batman's life in a pretty dramatic way, we can only hope their paths will cross sooner than later. Catwoman is having a tough time carrying her own title and perhaps its time for her to go away for a bit. Too much of any good thing is too much!

Unless I missed something, Issue 14 was an abrupt transition from Issue 13, and it serves as a stand alone beginning to a new adventure. While overtones of messing with the Creel family in Villa Hermosa, there are a few cliff hangers that need to be addressed. That's the problem lately in that sticking with the Catwoman series is like riding a roller coaster of emotion" you don't know what to expect from her or from Ram V or Jolle Jones

This is an issue that, arguably, has a lot of foreshadowing to it. This could be Catwoman being either bad or good (again?)! And given the recent events of Year of the Villain, Luthor's offers, and City of Bane, this is going to go down as a fork in the road for Catwoman readers!

If nothing else, you need to make sure if you are a collector to sew your timelines together. Jones has turned a corner from the past issues as the new writer and illustrator. She has breathed new life into this comic and it should definitely be a part of your collection!

If you have been following Catwoman in her Batman adventures lately, you know she is now at Bruce's side. This emotional farewell from Carlos and Selina's sister can either make this break easy or it can pull her away from Bruce. Not to mention that Raina Creel is a formidable foe now with the possession of Lazarus Water from a Lazarus Pit. Outstanding job on Catwoman #19, Ms. Jones!

To see how Raina Creel has evolved into a very important player in the Batman Family landscape, you'll need to pick up several past issues of Catwoman. But to truly appreciate the writing of Jolle Jones you need to grab every issue you can of Catwoman. Besides, we all love Alfred and the few pages he is remembered is worth the purchase!

Raina Creel"no spoilers here, but this is the type of villain that Selina needs to have going against her. Jolle Jones has found her book and I would love to find her influence in other story lines that are predominately female protagonist driven (hint, hint"Zatanna".Jessica Cruz".Power Girl" the list can go on and on.)

These "maids" are no match for Selina. Who really is on this level? I mean, she's ran with the Joker and Penguin. She needs a Rogues Gallery and soon. But in the meantime, she needed to get a breath of air in this story to set up what we hope will be an intriguing storyline.

Murphy's contribution saves the day! And I'm in on a two-parter with a Don Johnson white suit and electric blue t-shirt! Throw in the sound track and the big cat and you have a pretty eccentric tale!

This is a good "sewing it up" story and setting up Selina's return to Gotham. We shall see what we shall see! But I have a feeling Selina may have to plunge back to her criminal past to save Bruce.

She's corrected a major wrong in her relationship with Bruce. They are so intertwined, but she deserves her own adventures as well. Personally, I don't like these other guys hanging around her, but it is a comic soap opera at times. Add this issue to your collection in the Joker War!

Again, I am not "fanboying" everything I put my hands on with DC. There are some "duds" out there among a lot of comics. Do they fall short? yes. Should you spend your money on them? That is for you to decide. But if you read my reviews to get a feel for what is going on in those comics, then your dollars finally make sense to invest in Selina's book. After watching this character grow from the 1970's, she finally has the author and artist that she has deserved for so many years!

Ram V obviously is a Stephen King fan as Father Valley is straight inspired from some of King's works. Buy this book for the cover alone, but buy this series! It's great!

I feel that Future State has predicted a few things, but we need DC to authorize a veer from what we think is going to happen based on those issues. Can the Bat and the Cat finally make the relationship permanent? Only Ram V knows"stay tuned because he drips the stories out enough to keep us wanting more Selina!

We are going to enjoy Tini Howard's run on this comic. Selina is a true player and this comic has surpassed anything historically it was years ago as a "filler" book in the lineup. If you like a bit of noir, a lot of Selina, and a hero/anti-villain that is fighting the mob on several different levels, this is for you! Get in on the ground floor of Howard's run! You'll be glad you did!

Gotham continues to be a place that is odd to predict. From Valmont (who again looks like a Ghost Hunter rip off) to Onyx Adams (I am just getting acquainted with this new/old presence in Gotham) to Flamingoa cannibal that eats victims??? I would sure hate to be Gotham's tourism director. I'm in on Howard's run as she is setting the stage for somethingwhat? I cannot pick up the clues yet.

Gotham continues to be a place that is odd to predict. The Mob and Black MaskTo Valmont (not sure how I feel about this guy given that Selina has memorized his scent) What is Selina's end game? Is it back to the Bat or is wanting to increase her distance away from Bruce?

Catwoman #44 continues the Harley Quinn Catwoman team-up, and that's a shame. I can't remember when a book took this much of a 180 degree this quickly in its run, but I want what we were getting at the start of Tini Howard's run. Hopefully, we will.

To be honest, I am now curious as to where a creature like Damage goes now that he is now confronted with the most powerful hero on the planet. If Superman has indicated that the quartet of heroes before him has taken it easy on Damage, and Damage has withstood a heat vision blast from Supes, then we may be in for some interesting future issues as this collision of old mainstay heroes and new creatures may be infusing their will upon the DC landscape at a pretty rapid pace. I'll take a chance on following Damage….hope you will!

I'm in for the long haul. The JLA now has a member that is more powerful than Doomsday and arguably an equal to Superman. How Ethan/Damage chooses to use his powers is an open slate that I think DC readers should enjoy for issues to come!

I didn't like the inconsistency and also the mistake of having Batman being the one to order Ethan around. Damage needed a softer recruitment to the JLA, something that Batman is not necessarily known for! The art work is great and sharp! The characters are rendered in a great way, and I love the colors! With a book like Damage, they always deliver a battle. And each cliff hanger has been worth it, so we are now past a “Baker's Dozen” in issues, so make sure you go back and “re-read” to get started on this character!

The art is like the Dan Jurgen's run on Death of Superman. But the writing is not superlative at this point as I think enough Damage has been done. As they say in social media"."I'm just going to leave this right here"." I hope the writers do the same with Damage.

The art is solid, but the storyline doesn't save the character. This is a story of a super soldier formula gone awry. And the story has been told so often, nothing is a surprise and everything is absurd. From what I understand, only one issue remains in this series, so a collector would be wise to gather up all issues. It may be possible that another crew of artists and writers can get a hold of this character and paint a better situation for Ethan/Damage. In the case of this series, too much Damage has already been done (pun intended)!

Damage is going to end up in the $1.00 rack with some other titles from years gone by. I really had hoped this would have worked out as a "HulK" or "Doomsday turned good" character for DC, but I'm glad he's sailing off into the sunset. I hope he finds an island with cheap drinks and an easy way to get into a witness protection program. He and We are better off with him gone!

Capullo draws a mighty intimidating cast of heroes. Snyder weaves what may be the final tale of the Metal/Multi Universes. All hands on deck for this" and Clark has not even weighed in yet. Get your hands on this comic. This is as iconic as the issues where Superman's tattered cape is flapping in the wind and Batman's spine was cracked by Bane.

Capullo draws Wonder Woman. That literally should be enough. Dark Nights: Death Metal #2 is five stars, but it leaves a very different taste in your mouth. I think Perpetua knows something we don't know. Fear is in the air, and I hope Clark is up there too! We need Superman to make his appearance!

These Death Metal issues will have you scratching your head one moment, but they appear to be shaping DC for years to come! Here's to this issue and hoping time flies so we can get the next one!

It was time to sew this up. I would even argue that there were some avenues that could have been explored less (The Batman Who Laughs virus?) and some even more (The Grim Knight). I do applaud the duo of Snyder and Capullo. Their work is so strong together and a comic reading community is so much better for having this “Reese's Cup” in our lives!

There is a lot jammed into this Death Metal Guidebook. And you have to be a specific fan of Batman, Harley, Wonder Woman and Aquaman to appreciate this particular filler book. I've given you the major Easter Egg in Luthor's quest. Perhaps there is more than met my eye in this issue, so invest in this Metal!

This one is a love letter to all comic book readers. It stands on its own without having to invest so much in the history of Death Metal. It rivals Superman's origin story and as a lover of dogs, you will simply love Krypto in this issue. A dog truly can see into the soul! Well done Mr. Snyder and Mr. Johns…. Happy Holidays!

Perhaps I am anxious to see how all of this culminates. The recognition that Batman is already dead resonates strongly in how Bruce will come back (or if he does). This event has spilled over into Tom Taylor's DCeased universe (as well as it should since this is a battle for the Multiverses). If you have been a fan of the Dark Metal since its inception years ago, you can see why this "love letter" if you will from Scott Snyder means so much at this time. Kudos to the "calm before the storm" as we are all anxious to see the implications.

Tomasi even included an acknowledgement of the Anti-Life Equation from Tom Taylor's DCeased series. This book covered it all like a local Waffle House does with its hashbrowns! The battle scenes alone are great and the "dunking" of the Robins is reminiscent of the 1966 Batman series when the Dynamic Duo are in a cage above"..well you know.

This could have been a deeper dive point for such a story that DC has invested in. And to have a Lobo that was both a clever bounty hunter and possibly getting a conscience of sorts. That would have been cool. But we are left with a male Harley Quinn. Fragg it!

Trinity Crisis has become an interesting omelette of story telling. The art is amazing and Snyder has been setting this up for quite some time. But we don't seem to be marching to a definitive end. At least in this issue...

Tynion IV is a master in the Batman books, but this book is not anything what I thought it would be. Perhaps I am not deep into the story enough, but I've been a Metal reviewer for some time now, and while Robin King is worthy of throne, this new incarnation of The Batman Who Laughs needs to be swept to the trash.

Flip a coin! If you want a walk down memory lane with a lot of characters in a comic, this one is for you. But if you are scratching your head at the end, please do a search of everything Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo has contributed to this series. Maybe I am cynical, but find what you like, eliminate what you don't, and keep an eye out for anything Capullo draws that features Wonder Woman! That's where this series is perfect.

The Robin King has eclipsed anything that I ever thought he would be. I thought the first time I saw The Batman Who Laughs was incredible. The Robin King is a perfect narrator for your immersion into this anthology of stories.

Dave Alvarez's drawing of Harley saves the day. It's unusual in these team ups that the lighter side wins over the deeper story, but in this case it is a ninth inning catch at the fence! Fisch's story makes so much more sense than the throwback "lost dog" movie that Harley is part of in "A Hairy Predicament". Here's hoping Harley and Poison Ivy can swim in deeper waters, and that Bugs Bunny will anchor one of these team-up soon!

Both stories are pretty great! And while the reader may be expecting just the pairing (or "trioing") of Catwoman, Tweety and Sylvester, you actually get many more heroes and villains for your venture into this book. Cheetah attacking Hawkman is poster worthy for any wall!

"Why Tho Theriouth" alone should be a leaping point for a more serious Daffy Duck in the vein of Scooby-Doo Apocalypse. Maybe Gotham does have a new force to be reckoned with that can be alongside Joker in future tales. That story alone, along with the wonderful artist depictions of the Joker and Batman, is well worth the price of admission. "Silence of the Lame" is the cherry on top!

Don't let this dampen your appetite for a good spooky story, though, as it is Matthew Rosenberg and James Tynion IV writing after all, and these guys always tend do deliver a great Batman tale… so give DC Vs. Vampires #1one a try!

This is a good vampire story, though, as Matthew Rosenberg, James Tynion IV, and Otto Schmidt are crafting a great tale.

I appreciate the series on a lot of different levels. With no true killings and no true reveals, at least in my reviews, however, there is one item of note. The main cover, which features Superman and Wonder Woman attempting to subdue Batman, indicates a Clark transformation. Unless I miss something, he has combated magic/occult pretty successfully in the past, despite being more vulnerable to it than human beings. He's the saving grace in all of this so far, so how's he being duped into thinking Batman and Green Arrow are the vampires? Unless he's pulling an Andrew Garfield on us… whoops! I digress…

Guess who has his money out for issue #6 already?

As good as things are going in Nightwing, Superman, or even Suicide Squad… things are pretty dire here, in DC Vs Vampires #6. Now… where's issue #7?

You know what you're getting in this book. That could be taken as a positive or a negative, but it's a topic to be considered considering that the authors were given the task of "copying elements from well-known holiday classics!

Seriously, include this in your Valentine's Day gift to your partner or betrothed! What better way to share your love for comics than to give them one all about love?

If you know the background from some of these worlds as well as the characters, it is a chance to celebrate the holiday season. Some stories are poignant, we get many “awww…” moments, and others that may have you scratching your head. Overall though, this was a needed break from the heaviness that has been 2020. The artists and writers “get it”, and they have given us a gift in which we should be really thankful for! DC's Very Merry Multiverse #1 was really good fun.

Last frame of the comic! Last frame of the comic! Did I mention the LAST FRAME OF THE COMIC? What zombie language for "the crap is hitting the fan"? Taylor never disappoints! Even with a couple of negatives, this is a five star comic.

This is like Tom Taylor took all of the DC action figures and dumped them all over his playroom and started from there in creating this story. And boy does it work!

Between Sean Murphy's "Murphyverse" he has created with Batman and Tom Taylor's DCeased world, I am not so sure I can go back to the way things are/were. This version of DC needs to be explored more and more as it just cannot end. This version of the Trinity has to have more adventures!

I love it when an author takes a villain,who thinks he is a hero, and then really turns the villain/hero on his or her head! Taylor has done just that with Black Adam in this DCeased universe! Well done!

I may have to eat my words on this one, but it's a lot to digest in this issue. One gets how a creative team has to set the tone and introduce all the characters and the story. It's like some pieces are forced and organically did not come together. However, Settle in for the haul as the art is strong and elements of the story have the potential to be something special. It's alright to stumble at the start as long as you run the race and finish strong! Let's see what happens in the Deep Beyond!

I'm in. Somethings are too tried and true. And the little kid in me loves that red phone as it reminds me of Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara calling Batman. Everyone wants that phone and I do too.

Again, this subtle reinvention of the red phone with the "Tingling 4" has me all in. And it's only the second issue and the kids are going to meet up with Superman. If Sam Humphries does us all right, Supes may have a tingling 4 on his forehead. Wait is that a phone ringing...?

It's a nostalgic return of Robby Reed! "Sockamagee!" I love it when a comic pays homage to aspects of its origin, and we get to see an older Robby Reed! That brings the generations of this comic back full circle (ala an older Bruce Wayne). We are down the hatch now in a road trip to find out more about the H-phone. Let's hope we find out a new power or letter combo!

DC has extended this series to a twelve issue arc. It's a fun ride and I hope Miguel can tap into his own "Sockamagee" in the Hero Verse, and come out on the other side as a hero. Dial H for Hero is fun"Sam Humphries is picking up where this series left off and it's not too heavy and has just the amount of JLA to keep it relevant. Who knows"maybe Miguel is the key to Leviathan.

This is what readers have been waiting for. An explanation of the Dial H for Hero Heroverse! Throw in some nostalgic glimpses of comics from yesteryear and a visit from Superman, Summer's encounter with Two-Face in Metropolis (That's right"Metropolis) and some antique comic frames and you have a pretty good read!

Miguel story arc is perfect! And as a fan, it's what you want for him. Sockamagee! This may be the new Shazam! Readers will love playing match up with the "new" characters in the mix! Frank Miller"."Frank don't shiv!"" There's your second clue, but you have a lot more ahead! Dial H this month! You won't get a wrong number!

Here's hoping that Robby Reed returns to the story and we can continue on the story line provided earlier. And here's hoping that if Humphries wants to go down this route, he remembers that Wonder Comics is debatably not the audience format he needs for this!

I'm in too deep. Once I start a story line, I cannot give it up. And the past two issues have me scratching my head. Somewhere Humphries put this on a shelf, and forgot where the story was going. Shame on me if I am missing the clues, but there are more phones out here than a cellular store has to sell.

While this issue brought some issues to full circle (the allure of dialing the phone"any of the H phones and Miguel's motivation to help but at a cost), but I feel like things have been forced from a six-issue run to a longer stint. And while I'm not sure how this is going to end, I don't know that Humphries does either.

This issue gets things back on track and provides the duality issues of Robby Reed/The Operator /Mr. Thunderbolt. And it looks like Miguel has made an impulsive decision to stick things out with Robby Reed and a trip to Apokolips. All the pieces look like they are fitting together in this thing called Dial H for Hero!

What started out with Miguel's quest to be a hero has ended up being an odd maze of characters and a thinly veiled plot line to coincide with the recent issue of Justice League in what may be a major "reset' in time lines. To borrow a phrase from an old phone book commercial, "Let your fingers do the walking!" Unless you have some nostalgia for The Reign of the Supermen, walk on by this one. It's a 12 issue series and next issue will wrap this up. I hope Miguel and Summer find a home in Young Justice as this ride has been tough.

Black Adam: Endless Winter Special #1 " as this is a "filler" issue that features Black Adam, I would hope that DC would explore more of Black Adam and possibly feature an 8-12 issue run for him. This was a good start"let's see how he plays out in the ultimate defeat of the Frost King.

Extraordinary #1 opened a bit of a portal to the old Flatliner movie. It is intriguing that as we glimpse into the story, a near death if not death experience can provide you some sense of powers. Too scary to think about, but I am glad that Schwab does. It makes for a really cool intro to what is going to be a great 'cat and mouse" chase! Buy this book!

Initially, Bendis used the floating name tags, geography banners, and a few word bubble tricks (way to go Saturn Girl! No problem Superboy!) While I loved the art in , the script is like someone trying to cook an omelette, flipping it and then finding out we are having scrambled eggs for dinner.

It was time to sew this up. I would even argue that there were some avenues that could have been explored less (The Batman Who Laughs virus?) and some even more (The Grim Knight). I do applaud the duo of Snyder and Capullo. Their work is so strong together and a comic reading community is so much better for having this “Reese's Cup” in our lives!

Imperious Lex " I get it and I can see it. But I am a traditionalist in that this series is reaching a bit"it's trying to be a little too much like Black Adam in that Lex breaks out his traditional Green and Purple super suit to do battle with Supes in front of people. However, as I have indicated, it borders on some heavy philosophy so deep readers will enjoy it!

Midnighter reeks of a Batman/Punisher vibe and Mister Miracle is always good for a bit of fun! Throw in the Big Blue Scout for the fight of his life (only thing better is to see him face Doomsday again) and we have an event on our hands!

Kara's tale is brief in this Future State Multiverse. It is almost that of a glimpse into a legend. It was time for her to not be the second chair or even the third…but a time to have her featured solo for what she brings to the DC Universe! Well done!

This is a deep political book that if you examine it, there is wrong on both sides. Capitalism versus Socialism seems to be the theme. Comics are sometimes supposed to take you away and be "bubble gum for the brain". In this case, this was a political comic that provided nothing but conflict and the constant "in your face" we have endured in politics for some time.

This series is growing on me as it has elements of Tom Taylor's work as well as Sean Murphy"call me a sucker for either one of those, but this has strong hints of what they do in a comics. This culminates this mini-series, but it leaves a few questions. It appears we now have a version of Batman and Robin that is arguably as lethal as it can get. New Signal showing in the sky? Criminals beware!

I have been waiting since the 1980s for a solid Monster storyline to appear in comics. JL Dark is a perfect compliment to this new part of Gotham, but in the meantime, settle in with a good road map towards Monstertown in Gotham City Monsters #1. You know what can happen in an alley in this city, but you never know what might be around the corner in this part of town!

Gotham City Monsters #2 doesn't disappoint and with the appearance of The Phantom of the Opera (Theatre?), I just know that there are more homages to be paid to Forrest J. Ackerman Famous Monsters titles! Now, where is all that toilet tissue coming from?

Gotham City Monsters #3 doesn't disappoint and the pace gets a bit quicker as Melmoth pulls a disappearing act, forcing the GC Monsters to become a more formidable team together. Here's hoping this is more than a six issue run as this team deserves to be either in the pages of Batman on a regular basis, or as another Suicide Squad or yet again, part of JL Dark! Time will tell, so buy those issues!

Gotham City Monsters #4 doesn't disappoint and the pace picks up, as Melmoth pulls the formidable four of classic monsters into the mix. It's old school versus new kids on the block in the next issue.

This is the #4 issue assembles one of the best Spawn villains of all time and we get to see him back to his old tricks with a new look. Did I enjoy it? Yes! Can I see some homages? Yes. Or maybe, villainy simply comes adorned with chains and minuscule clowns? An any rate, Gunslinger Spawn continues to impress and it is clear McFarlane is having more fun in this book than his other titles. Pick up the previous issues as you will be glad you did!

Issue #5 is our new deal with the devil. Gunslinger is not "clowning around" (see what I did there). He's forming an unholy alliance to get back to the past. Let's hope it pays off!

Prince had a tough job. It's what every fastfood company did when McDonald's came up with the Big Mac. They had to come up with their own copy. The Joker inundated us last year in both comics and the cinema. This is a case where we need to change the lyric and “Send OUT the Clowns”.

Prince's second issue is a tragedy. Perhaps when all issues are published and are connected, we will see a six series of short stories that are more designed for pity on these characters than a connection. Again, I commend anyone that tries to infuse energy into a tired theme. DC has all the angles covered in comics with The Joker, Harley Quinn, Punchline, The Clown Killer, etc. Stephen King destroyed Barnum and Bailey's clowns through his work in IT. I'm in for the long haul, but I am not laughing at HaHa!

I wish I could quit reading it. I really do, but as Stephen King says " Dear Reader".." I'm in it to the finish. Again, out of everything thus far, Issue #3 is worth your time and investment. Otherwise, the other ones are as useless as a toy in a happy meal.

While this is a series of six issues, the only ones I would invest in is #3 and this one, #5, thus far! Here is hoping that #6 that is coming up is half as good as this one! If you have an extra dollar in your budget, you need to read this one! Especially if you have an older parent or grandparent still around! Sigh".. great story!

Your collection would benefit from issues #3 and #5. Given that I am an optimist at heart, i really wanted to laugh at HaHa on some level. Billed as a tragedy, it lived up to that for me. The art was superb in this issue, but I just don't get it!

Stjepan eji's provides the perfect intro to the Black, White, and Red series. It will be interesting to see how this progresses. But her pens and prose have given this reviewer the Harley he has always wanted to see!

This is a strong entry into the Batman family. What happens when you have the tech, but you are not in charge? What happens when you are pulled in several different directions to both be a hero and to also preserve your identity from your family"especially when your family has been turned in every direction imaginable by Bruce Wayne. This story is heating up!

This particular issue seems like a cleanup of sorts from Magistrate to a segeway into a new/old threat of T.A.L.O>n " full funded by Lucius Fox. Jace deserves a better story than this. I am sure he has his own demons to conquer, but wouldn't a confrontation between him and one of Batman's Rogue's Gallery be interesting?

The Big Apple" as a kid I often thought of Gotham City to be the parallel equivalent to New York City. Marvel made NYC the home to some of its big heroes" a certain Web-head from Queens, and a pretty big family of four that resides in the Baxter Building there. Wouldn't this be a nice crossover fodder for Marvel and DC as The Batman takes his turn in cleaning up the streets of NYC. Now where to put that Bat Signal???

And we have the beginning of a Rogue's Gallery. Man Ray or is it Manray? Whomever this person is, you can bet that there will be more. Great art"take a look at the frame above and really drink that cityscape in! That's the Big Apple with its own Batman!

I'm in despite the parallel story lines of the movie and Snyder's recent work. The darkness of any Joker tale is too good to not read. But my guard is up as I am not a fan of reruns on already explored ideas.

I'm to the party a bit late. As Justice League Odyssey #17 is the first issue I've read of this series. I'm compelled to get a back story of how this team was forged, but again, I'm a big fan of Jessica Cruz, so any way you cut it, I'm in. Justice League comics don'tt have to be so Trinity laden and the folks at DC have re-imagined a team where other heroes can be a part of the Major League on the outskirts! Hooray for Gamma – everyone loves the cavalry!

This series provides a spotlight on some “lesser known” JL members and, as usual, I am a big fan of Jessica Cruz and her journey. Once again, this is another series that's well worth reading and Justice League Odyssey #18 is well worth the price of admission, just for finding clues as to what the DC Universe's writers are planning.

I'm loving Jessica Cruz's humanistic leadership in Justice League Odyssey #19, as she's basically the thread holding the whole team together. I'm hoping that the original JLO can be picked back up, despite some crucial departures in this issue courtesy of some cold and calculated deaths (oops…a spoiler or two). But we are dealing with Epoch, and if the math is correct, no one ever really dies in the comics. Right Jessica?

Again, readers of the more mainstream comics may well be scratching their collective heads if they miss this issue, and this title. Justice League Odyssey is Jessica Cruz' team, and now it really shows. There are no self-confidence issues here from Cruz, and she's becoming a major player in the DC Universe. My advice? You really want to catch up on this series fast!

Justice League Odyssey #24 proves that Darkseid is… Darkseid, and he seems to have recruited a JLO member or two, just so his timeline can exist.If Perpetua's doing her thing in the universe, and Darkseid's in the midst of rewriting history, what will happen when they collide? Let's hope that Dan Abnett and Scott Snyder are on the same page.

This is the #5 issue and it provides a "control alt delete" that makes us think about all we knew about Spawn's origin. The graphic depiction of that bullet taking Al's life at the hands of none other than"Uh-uh. Not me"I'm not spoiling this one for any Spawn fan! Buy this issue!

Issue #6 fills in a lot about two major villains from Al's past that elicit a fit of rage in him. Kincaid is one of the absolute worst villains ever created, and Jason Wynn is right there behind him. Given that and the last frame of the comic"Sean Lewis is taking villainy to new heights in King Spawn. Rush out now, and get this new book on your shelf! Issues #1 " 5 have to be at a comic store somewhere for you to catch up. Don't let Issue #6 escape your pull list!

Issue #7 is pure "old school Spawn"...when you take a look at older issues of Spawn where he sits in the alleys of New York City cajoled and plagued by The Clown and adored by the homeless"this is where King Spawn sits. We are back to where it all began as Sean Lewis knows it has all been about Al's love for Wanda. Perfect story for after Valentine's Day!

Issue #10 has both grit and foreshadowing that this may not be the last time we see the Black, White and Red format being used. If this is how King Spawn presents itself, I am all for it as it is taking on some Frank Miller type Sin City vibes. Long live the King!!!!

Issue #11 returns King Spawn back to full colors in a battle in front of the God Throne. The writing and the art pulls absolutely no punches and again places Spawn back to his origin. Again, a huge cliff hanger awaits, and sets up Issue #12 and beyond. Or maybe notSean Lewis may have faked me out again with his magic pen. Buy this series!

Buy Legion of Super-Heroes #1!!!!! This is ground floor “re-imagination” of the team. The only drawback of this issue is that it's not bigger, as there are so many characters that need to be highlighted. I hope that Bendis can balance all of these mainstay characters, while telling rich stories, issue after issue!

Add Legion Of Super-Heroes #2 to your collection. If treated as admirably as I think it will be, this series could be the extensive “X-Men” effort that DC has needed for quite some time! I just hope, as a parent, that Jon will go visit his folks once in a while, when he comes home!

The art is fantastic and the re-imagination of the team is perfect! My only regret is that there's so much going on that you really want the issues to come faster and faster! Well done Mr. Bendis and the gang!

We needed to slow down a bit as preceding issues were at a break neck pace. And if we are going to spend time with these characters for quite some time, we needed a back story. Well done Mr. Bendis and the gang!

President Brande has a great idea about forming a Legion based on history. The JLA and the Teen Titans seem to be Brande's inspiration and her speech before government leaders seems straight out of Episode 2 or 3 of Star Wars. I appreciate the origin story, but don't want pull too hard on some of the strings. I'm not sure which timeline these Legion members are prepping Superman/Superboy for, and what the heck is going on with Aquaman's Trident?

The roster grows… well at least it appears to, so how do we continue to keep up? The readers and long time fans need more solid roots for a bit, to kelp us get to know everyone introduced thus far. Newcomers have to get some traction with these heroes, and older fans need to move towards either accepting this new Legion incarnation. or dismissing it, as it's not their Legion of old. Either way, let's take a breath Mr. Bendis, give us some character development, and let us enjoy this Legion. Put a bouncer at the door… the dance floor's overcrowded.

It all seems to be an enormous task for Bendis as of late. Jonathan Kent and Brainiac 5 recently visited Superman. Perhaps it's time for the Legion to find two arenas…. it works for the Justice League.

For me the series is dragging, but that's to be expected with so many people involved, and with Bendis wanting to pay tribute to all the Legion members.

I appreciated all the artistic interpretations, but it's time for this book to become grounded, and get out of the Bendis formula. Over in Three Jokers, Geoff Johns is telling stories with six to seven frames a page. I need more meat on these Legion bones!

Not sure about the Legion history and the impending darkness, however, the introduction of a Krypton killer such as Rogol Zaar seems to be Bendis' last ditch effort to make this villain as iconic as Zod or Doomsday. Time will tell.

These issues are starting to wear thin. Change a picture here, load stilted dialogue there. Last issue I had hope, but this issue… not so much!

Initially, Bendis used the floating name tags, geography banners, and a few word bubble tricks (Way to go Saturn Girl! No problem Superboy!) to keep the readers informed, will that continue moving forward into Future State? Join me next week, to find out.

If you are looking for a visit back to years gone by, then this is the title you should buy. And if your kids are new to comics, then this is a great introduction to both reading and colorful art!

Always a crowd favorite, the Justice League of Looney Tunes comedy (Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and Wile E Coyote) are always worth the price of admission. I always love these comics for teaching another generation where their comic roots come from! And Looney Tunes always delivers!

The art work in Foggy at the Bat is worth the price of the comic alone! And the sports issue is a perfect way to introduce team work, attempting a new sport, or cherishing the history of sport gone by. Pick it up as you will be glad you did!

The story and art in Nightwing #83 is so rich in detail that you should be reading this already. If not, go back and pick up EVERY issue that Taylor and Redondo have done together! This duo is as perfect as Barbara and Dick are together!

Given all my focus on the differences in artists, this story is a perfect compliment to the Fear State storyline. Was the steak a bit well done? Yes"but it satisfied my hunger! So did this issue of Nightwing. However, I do want Bruno to come back to the kitchen and provide more than just cover art. He needs to cook the full course meal!

I think DC should consider bringing Bruno back into the fold for the run of this comic. I know artists should not pigeonhole themselves, but Bruno simply "got" Nightwing and what was needed. Great script, and solid art in this one. However, if I had my "druthers", I need to see more Haley/Bitewing with Bruno at the helm.

All Nightwing fans are on this ride. You should be too! Buy this book and collect the back issues as well. Issue #87 was a work of art! Nightwing #88 is a work from the heart! The alternate cover says it all! This is THE BEST COMIC on the market today!

I'll take the two of them together any day! This is the new World's Finest! Again, Barbara and Dick are perfect together and Hailey makes three! No spoilers, but we know where this road is leading and what a cliff hanger until next month. You would do yourself a favor at starting with issue #1 and pull yourself up to King Arthur and his round table!

It is a high brow comic that rewards the reader with precise pencils and vivid colors! Reminiscent of older comic themes and current Suicide Squad overtones, PhenomX can be viewed with one lense as an amalgamation of ideas from long ago. However, the social themes prevail giving this top billing for your comic investment dollars. In this world of celebrated diversity, pick up a copy of PhenomX and follow it through for a few issues. If the writing continues to develop (which I am sure it will) then you will thank me for getting you in on the ground floor!

The premise is great and judging by Robins #1, it's going to be a strong 6 issue run. It appears as a bit of group therapy for the Robins as sitting around the table recounting their history is a bit too 1970s for me. Educated readers don't need to be caught up to speed that much. However, let's see where this all goes! I'm in!

What is Batman's Gauntlet Zero? How did the first Robin get out from Batman's nest? This book may change everything in canon in terms of Dick being the first Robin. How did Alfred let all of this happen? It's a dark read, and akin to a "What If"" story. What started for me as a "Look it's all the Robins"" has turned into "Will Bruce's world ever be the same?" Awesome writing from a helicopter view". but it can be depressing in the nest!

The Robins detective skills are paramount to this issue as Tim is in big trouble. Again, is Jenny Wrenn whom she says she is? Batman is always full of secrets"is this his biggest one?

Batman has more layers than imaginable. How can so much history fit itself into one character. In comics, anything is possible. However, this story can be enjoyed on the surface as a Batman and Robins teamup adventure or you can grab a snorkle and find some deeper meanings here. Enjoy based on your own taste!

Issue #1 is always a gamble for any company. However, Image does a great job of hitting for the fence on all issue #1. Look at Spawn. Walking Dead, Nocterra to name a few. Who knows"Rogue Sun may catch on like those.

I'm hooked and I am in. There is enough shreds of the Saturday Morning Gang I have known since I was a kid, and the re-imagining of characters is spot on! Given the strong writing and a bit of fluff provided by Atom Ant “shorts” that have been peppering the comic, there is something for everyone! I just wish Daphne had her old Fred!

Lots of action in this issue and a great job of catching up the reader to the origin of the Apocalypse. That was needed for any new invested reader. I like how the issues end with an Atom Ant humor story as this is a heavy Scooby story that is not easily resolved as his cartoon counterparts do on Saturday mornings!

The twist at the end makes me want the next issue immediately. You have to buy into this new version of Scooby. Each week I keep remarking that it is new, but given that I have grown up with Scooby and the Gang as a formula mystery and the old “i would have gotten away with it if not for you kids and your pesky mutt”, I'm still in the honeymoon phase of this reimagination of these characters! Given the strong writing and a bit of fluff provided by Atom Ant “shorts” that have been peppering the comic, there is something for everyone! Again, I just wish Daphne had her old Fred!

Well done! Really well done! The crew that provided us a 36 issue joy ride should be commended as this took us where Scooby and the Gang had not before. The art work, the reimagination of characters, and a story that is timely in the era of pop culture made for a great run! Here's hoping you buy the last issue, but more importantly, here's hoping there is a trade paperback to amalgamate all issues together for a Saturday afternoon reading!

Tom Taylor is at the apex of his game and we are the benefactors. I continue to appreciate his endeavors in the DC arena, and it is arguably hard for writers to expand to less established universes and characters. Not Taylor…he along with Sean Murphy and his Murphyverse endeavors in White Knight seem to be the new Lewis and Clark in comics…forging through areas that have never been explored before!

To provide a new world with rich characters and to be able to explore really fourteen members of this team that protects seven secrets provides a lot of territory to cover. i know he is centered on Caspar right now, but I am very intrigued at all the other members of this team. You should be too!

Tom Taylor , just being named the major author for an upcoming Superman series, continues to draw us into this ensemble cast. The visuals of this book are pretty amazing as the art work is very tight and Taylor provided a glimpse (finally) in revealing one of the Secrets. This pace of revealing may mean a long extended battle until we are down to either one secret or full on apocalypse. Either way, Taylor is our guide and we are better for it as his readers!

Fourteen Spawns"oh the possibilities are endless. It's a world of Spidermen! It's every Superman imaginable! It's getting every costumed action figure you wanted for Christmas! I guess you could say you need to buy this one!

Spawn #312 " Buy it for Gunslinger Spawn alone. But note that each issue brings another back story and another Spawn into the fray. That's a lot of green gassy ectoplasm goo!

Spawn #313 – A new Spawn in Monolith as well as another issue with the She-Spawn! After this battle, I'd love for McFarlane to hand some of these Spawns off to other artists and writers as a She-Spawn book would be wonderful!

Spawn #314 – If Omega Spawn can employ Monolith, how can a much smaller team of Spawn defeat him? That is what we are hanging around for as it appears Al's team is slated to make an appearance soon. The art and the script keeps getting stronger and stronger…too bad Al's power meter is not climbing as well (inside joke, but buy issues 1-313 and you'll get it!)

Spawn #317- If you need to catch up on all things Spawn, then check out Spawn: Compendium that came out recently. It collects Spawn #1-50, and is a wonderful down and dirty on the origin of Spawn. It comes out just in time to be in concert with what is coming up in the Spawn Universe. The crescendo must be building, but this one was a bit stale. Obvious campy chatter, and not as much detail in the pens and pencils that we are used to seeing. The bar is too high in this game"or rather the meter is climbing up (Spawn fans will get that), so keep it there Todd!

This is another pivotal issue as you have seen the combination of Medievil Spawn, She-Spawn and Al now working in some fashion together. Get ready for more additions (or subtractions) from the team (?). The challenge for Todd McFarlane will be to relinquish some reins on the storylines that will be generated from this new diverse set of Spawns. This is a great opportunity for the Spawn universe to assimilate some other aspects of the Image comics line of heroes and villains as well as generate some new frontiers to explore. However, keeping the bar as high as it has been set will be challenge!

Spawn #319 " Cygor apparently has a soft spot in Spawn's heart. Does he even have a heart? This is probably the best art and script combined we have seen since issue #300. This is also a great jumping off point for any new Spawn readers as you don't have to know EVERY Spawn detail to get this storyline!

Cygor and Wanda have placed a bit of nostaliga if not humanity in Spawn's heart. He can go ruthless in seconds, but also he is very cognizant of how many characters he has pulled into his battle with Heaven and Hell. The foreshadowing of Wanda's comment gives us a catapult into August with King Spawn #1. It's shaping up to be a great Universe with McFarlane pulling out all the stops!

Spawn #322 " McFarlane is handling some real Spawn baggage right now as he is in King Spawn. Children issues and abuse issues run rampant as the top issues in his social agenda. This voice for Spawn is pretty intense right now and with the emerging of Kincaid in King Spawn and all new levels of story telling surrounding this character".I hope all of this can be sustained. It's a great time to be a Spawn fan!

Spawn #323 " The artist switch is classic in this one. This is one monster show short of Frankenstein and The Mummy. However, McFarlane and company hit quite the homerun in this particular issue and gives any monster fan the homages they want. The Walking Dead would be proud!

Spawn #324 " Make sure you get this issue as this the first real establishment of the seeds of The Scorched comic aforementioned. Conversations between Marc/Medievel Spawn and James Downing really resonate. The symbiotic relationship between Marc and Medievel Spawn's helmet is akin to some Dr. Fate work, but his waking up to carnage around him is so Bruce Banner/Hulk. McFarlane and company score with this issue!

Make sure you get this issue as this is the inaugural issue introducing some new Spawns, The Forsaken, and you get to see Haunt in a new light. Lot of stories up ahead Spawn Universe. Let's hope we have enough time and cash to throw at this endeavor!

McFarlane allows McConville to play with all of his toyline"his characters" the landscapes" it's all here and it continues to get better! Do yourself a favor and if you are not a Spawn fan, completely catch up.

Spawn #328 No new things are developed here if you take away page 12 in what I think will be an eventual relationship upgrade. However, if you want to get a good take on Cy-gor, see the Redeemer in action, be introduced to Sinn, or at least find out what Forsaken is restless about, pick up this book!

Spawn #330- Cy-Gor and Overt KillI've loved them since the first few issues, and to have them back in full action is going to be great. McFarlane and company need to go ahead and play their hidden script cards as this book is slowly dragging behind King Spawn, Scorched, and the Crown Jewel in the series right now GunSlinger Spawn!

Buy this book and keep supporting the Spawn Universe! Here's hoping that all of the issues in this timeline are as rich as this one is!

Stealth took a hard look at the inner city, economic recovery, Alzheimer-affliction and motivation to do both good and evil. You would be wise to either pick up all six issues or the trade paperback coming soon!

If you are waiting on the third season, this is a good appetizer. It's adult enough for the Stranger Things fan who needs something to get them over the hump, but it is kid enough to appreciate a Halloween tale this time of year! Happy Reading!

While the Black and White is Batman's playground, Red and Blue fits our Big Blue Boy Scout just fine. When you think you have heard every angle to Superman, Red & Blue provides just more evidence that this character, and the many timelines touched by Superman, can go forever. This second issue hits the ultimate home run, and gives us priceless stories to add to the legend of Superman in all timelines.

We are in a treat as next week will bring Wonder Woman featured in the same treatment. This playground has been great for both Batman and Superman. I appreciate that DC is providing more insight into these characters for authors and artists alike.

VerdictThe artwork alone is worth the price of admission! The Doomsday shot as well as Superman talking to Wonder Woman while she is defeating a huge creature. It is like they are enjoying a coffee at a local bistro while she is actually embroiled in full on battle and Superman is passively having a conversation knowing the outcome of Diana's efforts! There is a lot of tongue in cheek stuff in this art! I like Tom King's take on Superman and how this story works! If you have not read it already, give it a purchase! You'll be glad you did!

Again, the artwork alone is worth the price of admission! From the sheer brutal display in the boxing ring to the poignant comforting of the Healer's family"this is a heart wrenching story! Invest in this one as you'll reread it for years to come!
