A new chapter in the Alien saga begins in earnest with a tense first issue. Shalvey neatly sets the scene before turning up the scare dial ready for all hell to break loose.

Batgirls #2 deftly moves along the series' plot, adding further context to the titular teams relationship and setting an intriguing new group of villains. Dynamite visuals and a sizzling story make Batgirls one to watch in 2022.

Spellbinder's reign of terror comes to a dramatic finish in an issue which masterfully balances three equally demanding and compelling leads.

The end of Bat Girl Summer makes for blockbuster reading. Another hugely successful arc ends with a satisfying showdown between the Batgirls and The Riddler. The duo of compelling reading and stunning artwork continue to make Batgirls one of DC's finest books of 2022.

I've consistently said that Batgirls is one of my favourite books of 2022 and this final issue has only cemented that further. The Vice Versa arc may only be two issues old but is already proving the versatility of the creative team. I predict even bigger things in 2023 for the Batgirls!

Even without the use of dialogue Cloonan, Conrad and triple threat artist Jonathan Case deliver an emotional, pulse-pounding experience. Batgirls #14 a masterclass in visual storytelling.

Coming off the back of a stunning issue in January, Batgirls packs the biggest of emotional gut punches this month. Wrapped up the usual comic book trappings are feelings of loss and grief but also the hope and strength which rise from overcoming trauma.

Batgirls comes full circle. With just two more issues to go the series is bringing the focus back to Hills and how the team has come to call this corner of Gotham home. It feels right that the story should end where it began with a strong focus on its fan-favourite central characters.

The end is in sight. The final fight draws near. But the Batgirls aren't going without a fight. This penultimate issue is the perfect setup for June's finale. Headstrong storytelling and beautiful artwork as always from the series' creative team.

The final issue of Batgirls ties up all the loose ends neatly. A poignant and reflective ending serves as a perfect reminder of why these characters belong together and why this creative team were the ones to tell their story.

The first ever Batgirls annual arrives at the perfect time. It seamlessly segues between two arcs, giving closure on what has come before and teasing what's next. Masterfully written and beautifully rendered.

The Deadly Duo continues to give readers the purest form of the Batman/Joker relationship. Without all the trappings of a main continuity story, The Deadly Duo has free reign to relish in the delightfully dark and impish interactions between its two leads.

A blockbuster finale to what has been an incredible run. In the vein of Batman:Nolor One Dark Knight, Silvestri and Prianto have created a standalone story for the ages.

The debut of Batman '89 Echoes is a perfect reintroduction to this world. The introduction of new characters keeps the series feeling fresh and promptly sets up an exciting new chapter. Clocking in at six-issues should inject a healthy dose of exhilaration to the pacing.

A welcome return for Batman '89 Echoes after a prolonged gap between the first two issues. Taking significant steps with both Dr. Crane and Harlan Quinzel it's fascinating to see these two legendary villains given the Sam Hamm treatment.

Two months in to his run on the main-Bat title and Dzarsky has delivered a blockbuster issue. His sizzling story is beautifully accompanied by the unparalleled team of artist Jimenez and colourist Morey.

Batman #130 brings Zdarksy's first arc to a close with spectacular action and a tantalising cliffhanger. Both writer and artist are bringing their A-game in an issue which both starts and ends big.

A well structured and intriguing first chapter for a brand new arc. Both stories perfectly compliment each other to create an overall narrative that picks up right where Failsafe left off.

Zdarsky continues to bring a compelling level of intrigue to Batman as Bruce attempts to navigate his way around this new Earth. Whilst it's left to the backup story to drive the narrative forwards, the main story is undoubtedly still a fun read.

"The Bat-Man of Gotham arc begins to coalesce this month. With all the pieces on the board, Zdarsky is shifting the story to bring in more action whilst keeping the focus on Bruce's emotional journey. Once again the backup story is used to bring some great context. We're beginning to see both stories racing towards an epic conclusion.

This month both the lead and back-up stories stand on their own to feet as excellent character portraits. Despite the intricate nature of the story, both Bruce and Tim are given plenty of action and a strong dash of heart.

Quite simply, outstanding. Dzarsky doesn't put a foot wrong in setting up an epic conclusion to the current Batman arc. With a superstar art team this is a true celebration of the Dark Knight's 900th solo issue.

Things are brewing in Gotham City and with Chip Dzarsky barreling towards the Gotham War it certainly seems like the pieces are lining up for something incredibly exciting.

A speedy and somewhat ferocious second part to The Gotham War story, Zdarsky digs in to Batman's psyche whilst pitting him against everyone he loves. Backed against a wall, what is the Dark Knight expected to do?

Batman #138 is another solid entry in The Gotham War event. This has been my favourite issue so far. The stakes are high, the emotions are even higher and everyone has something to lose. Where do we go from here!?

A brilliant opener to this latest chapter of Chip Dzarsky's Batman run. The “Mind Bomb” is already shaping up to be a Batman story for the ages and is the culmination of the last year of storytelling. Also, all hail Jorge Jimenez as nobody draws Batman or Joker like he does.

Batman #142 is an fascinating glimpse in to the mind of The Joker. Is he a reliable narrator? Perhaps not. But are we in for a wild ride? Absolutely. Zdarsky, Sorrentino and Camuncoli are a dynamite trio to explore this previously forbidden part of DC history.

The second chapter of “Joker: Year One” opens up the story and really gets to grips with both its central characters. Once again led by two incredible artists, Chip Zdarsky's attempt to explore the history of The Joker is blockbuster stuff.

A speedy but satisfying conclusion to this three-part experimentation in toying with the history of The Joker. Zdarsky wraps up the story pretty neatly which is no easy feat given how quickly it has come and gone. It's going to be fascinating to see the impact of this arc moving forwards.

Batman #145 is a huge opening instalment in Chip Zdarsky's latest arc for The Dark Knight. Not just in scale but also in scope and certainly in stakes. Everything is on the line and I have no idea where it's going to go. Blockbuster storytelling teamed with sumptuous visuals.

A solid issue building on the mystery surrounding Joker, Batman and a mysterious figure from both their pasts. Batman #146 is led by the incredible due of artists Jorge Jimenez and Michele Bandini, both of whom bring a dynamic style to the streets of Gotham.

The Gotham War ignites with a compelling first issue. Laying exquisite groundwork for the morale (and potentially cataclysmic) events to come.

I did not expect to love Batman – Santa Claus: Silent Knight #1 quite as much as I did. It's a super fun story which features a heady mix of action, mythology and mystery. Jeff Parker's zippy writing fits perfectly with the dynamic style of artists Michele Bandini and Alex Sinclair.

It's hard to knock a book as fun as Batman Santa Claus: Silent Knight. This week's issue is an action-packed spectacular which nicely nudges on the story.

An excellent penultimate issue in DC's four-part, four-week holiday experiment. Batman Santa Claus is taking over the DCU and at this point it's going to take an army of elves, sorry Huldufolk, to save the day.

The Dynamic Duo are back! The team of Joshua Williamson and Simone Di Meo has crafted an incredible opening to this new series bringing impressive visuals alongside a spectacular, high energy story.

Batman & Robin has really hit its stride. With an intriguing new villain and some of the best father-son dynamics we've seen, Williamson and Di Meo are certainly making a great first impression.

Batman & Robin #3 is another action-packed issue from the Dynamic Duo of Williamson and Di Meo. Though it's fast pace is beginning to feel relentless there's so much to grapple with that the book is truly a joy to read.

A brilliant piece of character work from Williamson and the creative team. Batman & Robin has found its sweet spot and I can't wait to see where it leads.

Batman & Robin takes its foot off the gas – sort of – to reset the playing field for a brand new arc. But make no mistake, this is an incredibly well-plotted series which knows exactly where it's going.

A great annual for Batman & Robin to kick off 2024. It's fun to see father and son focussing on their relationship for a moment, even if it does turn out to be in the middle of a life-or-death mission

Batman Beyond: Neo Gothic continues to dig deep in to the murky world underneath Gotham City. Kelly and Lanzing pull out the big guns this month, pitting Terry against the Court of Owls. It keeps the spectre of Bruce alive in a series which is really focussing on the young Batman stepping out from the shadow of his former mentor.

It's a 5 star finale for Batman vs. Robin as Waid circles the story back around to its titular characters. Wrapping up much of Lazarus Planet, the story keeps its sense of grandeur but hones in perfectly on Bruce and Damian. Unexpected twists keep the reader on their toes and bring this cataclysmic event to a close with a fist pumped high in the air WE ARE BATMAN!

A tantalising return to Sean Murphy's Gotham. The ten year time jump acts as a tremendous reset of the White Knight world, moving the characters along and making room for the introduction of Terry McGinnis and Derek Powers.

Batman: Dark Ages #1 is a bold and imaginative take on the Dark Knight's origin. Changes to the classic storyline are a tantalising glimpse in to a possible future for Bruce Wayne in a Gotham rife with a different kind of corruption.

An outstanding debut issue. Rafael Gramp has presented a truly gritty, psychological new gothic take on The Dark Knight that is worthy of a Batman Day launch. This series has Eisner Award-winner written all over it from the outset.

Jock continues to tease out a complex story with Batman: One Dark Knight. With only one issue to go the disparate plot threads are beginning to knit in exciting and unexpected ways.

Batman: The Adventures Continue returns with a strong first issue in season 3, widening the world of BTAS with an intriguing mystery and energetic visuals.

The third season of Batman: The Adventures Continue rolls on multiple plot threads in play. "Crack Up! part-two nudges the Task Force X plot along nicely whilst also teeing up a confrontation between Batman, Joker and Hugo Strange. Though it doesn't quite fully recapture the magic of the TV series, it's great to see BTAS style storytelling continue.

It's a mixed-bag of results at the end of Batman: The Adventures Continue's latest arc. Whilst the storytelling is coming together it still lacks some of the punch of Batman: The Animated Series. But on the other side of the coin it's hard not to love Ty Templeton's excellent rendering of this world.

The first issue of Batman: The Knight is an insightful and explorative look at the life of young Bruce Wayne.

The debut of Generation Joker lives up to the White Knight hype. A worthy continuation of Sean Murphy's brilliantly engineered Elseworld's take on Batman. The first issue offers up the perfect mix of excitement and intrigue as we finally learn more about this take on Jack Napier/Joker.

Kelly Thompson arrives at DC with a fierce debut for the Birds of Prey. The excellent story of bringing the team together is matched by the outstanding visual aesthetic of Romero and Bellaire. As it says on the cover, a “face-breaking first issue”.

Another incredibly solid issue from Kelly Thompson and the Birds of Prey creative team. We're really getting down to business now with the conflict on Themyscira in full swing. Not only does this issue feature some great action but it sets up a huge conflict for issue #4.

A uniquely explorative look at the world of Something is Killing the Children through the eyes of Maxine Slaughter.

Given the short shelf life of the average slayer, Buffy the Last Vampire Slayer #1 tees up an exciting, intriguing and unique story which long-time fans will find a solid pager turner.

Die-hard Buffy fans may struggle to place The Lost Summer in continuity. But those willing to look part it will find a fun, classic comedy episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer to explore.

Gilly continues to do an exemplary job of giving readers both the human emotion and the supernatural thrills which made Buffy a pop culture phenomenon. Between Buffy's grief and Thess' raw emotion there's a lot to contend with but Gilly and artist Oriol Roig make it a delight with the turn of every page.

Another incredible issue from Gilly and Roig. Issue #4 is a huge emotional release and turning point for both of our heroines and with such a capable creative team it's a moment no Buffy fan should miss.

Whilst The Gotham War hasn't resonated with all fans it's hard to ignore the emotional impact that Tini Howard is able to instil with this issue. The Gotham War is racing towards its conclusion with plenty at stake for both its central forces.

A story which feels like a classic Catwoman adventure in the making. A new era starts with a wonderful nod to Selina's past to an exciting glimpse in to her future.

Packed with magic intrigue, Constantine: Distorted Illusions is a fun introduction to DC's resident Hellraiser. Between Kami Garcia's excellent story and Isaac Goodhart's imagery this book will undoubtedly open up a whole new audience to John Constantine.

Tom Taylor's swords of sorcery take on the DCU wraps up with a huge final issue. All the pieces slot together for a satisfying and epic conclusion which leaves plenty of room for future stories.

After another trip around the sun, DC returns to Pride Month with another magnificently written collection of stories celebrating the queer characters of the DCU. The creative team-ups are equally as exciting as those on the page. An absolute must read and must celebrate book.

Not only an uplifting selection of celebratory stories, DC Pride 2022 is a book of immeasurable importance. Not only do books like this allow us to see facets of ourselves in our heroes, it also seeks to educate others about the problems many people face on a daily basis, even today.

A fun exploration of all the greenest and greatest plant-based characters in the DCU. The publisher once again proves it knows how to put together a blockbuster anthology, this time celebrating all things spring.

Taylor instantly reminds us why DCeased is a blockbuster franchise for DC. War of the Undead Gods hits the ground running with high stakes and huge scope.

War of the Undead Gods fires on all cylinders with its second issue, ramping up the stakes and causing a multiverse of trouble for our heroes.

The debut of DC's Earth-Prime feels like a lost episode from Batwoman season 3. The tone and the writing from the show translates brilliantly to the page.

The latest arc kicks off in blockbuster style with a story that involves the entire Flash-family. An epic, large-scale story is met with dynamic, cinematic artwork.

"The One Minute War continues in this all-out escalation of the already dire situation. Heartbreaking and suspenseful, Adams and his team aren't pulling any punches when it comes to this latest apocalyptic Speedster event.

Through a huge amount of exposition, Adams and co. are able to keep The Flash running on track through an epic conclusion to the "One Minute War arc.

The Flash: One Minute War Special adds new layers to an already blockbuster story. Inspired character choices from the Flash Family sit alongside an intriguing chapter adding context to the motivations of The Fraction

Get ready to be spooked by the brilliant Ghostlore! With their debut issue Bunn and Leomacs have created a rich world on which to build their story. All the building blocks are perfectly placed for an eerie journey to come.

A strong, but not perfect, return for Oliver Queen. I'm excited to have Green Arrow back in comic book stores and keen to see just how far Williamson and Izaakse are able to push this new high concept story arc before they bring Oliver back down to Earth.

Issue #2 brilliantly builds on the foundations of last month. It's clear that Williamson has a plan for Oliver and the rest of the Green Arrow cast but at the same time he isn't revealing all his plans right away. The various elements feel more balanced this month as the story digs in to its Dawn of DC connections and sets up some interesting storytelling for next month.

Green Arrow really hits its stride with issue #3. An emotional turning point for its lead character but also for the reader as we now find ourselves clued in on what is going on with Oliver. A huge jumping off point for a story which appears to be key to DC's future storytelling.

It's take a little while for Green Arrow to win me over. Its high-concept setting is unique for a character who normally exists to fight street level crime unless he's with the Justice League. But Williams' capable storytelling and its robust emotional foundations continue to drive home what is one of DC's most compelling solo series.

An excellent finale to the first chapter of Joshua Williamson's Green Arrow. Action-packed and entertaining right down to the final panel. The future is looking bright for Oliver Queen even whilst several of his key allies are left in danger…

Another excellent issue from Williamson and his artistic team. A real moment for Oliver (and the reader) to stop and think about everything the Dawn of DC movement has brought to the table so far. It also signifies perhaps the beginning of the journey towards a new Justice League forming.

Green Arrow enters a transitional period with the benefit of the legendary Phil Hester on board the creative team. A cool standalone mystery issue sets the scene for Oliver Queen's latest challenge.

Green Arrow #9 is a scintillating issue putting Oliver Queen at the centre of events across the DC Universe.

Green Arrow continues to hurtle along. Energised by the events of last month, Oliver is now in over his head and facing a Justice League-level threat.

Gunslinger Spawn takes on a different kind of mission in the wake of Spawn #350. With Javier injured and missing his powers, writer Todd McFarlane and artists Carlo Barberi and Ivan Nunes instead throw personal challenges and growth at the warrior.

Bonkers and totally unexpected, The Jurassic League is immediately the number one comic book I never knew I needed in my life!

Justice Society of America #1 picks up the breadcrumbs of the New Golden Age special and runs with them at full pelt. All hail the return of Helena Wayne!

The mystery deepens as we follow Huntress on her time-hopping adventures. Whilst the changes in artwork can be jarring, the dedication to following different timelines makes Justice Society of America a brilliant exploration of DC's legacy.

Another fantastic issue from the Justice Society of America creative team. Things are really starting to get complicated and I'm desperate to see where it goes next…

Al is not happy about losing his immortality and is hell-bent on investigating. Meanwhile Todd McFarlane is revelling in the versatility of his franchise with a book which really leans in to its horror roots.

Knight Terrors comes full circle with a satisfying final issue. It succeeds in doing the heavy lifting required to tie up loose ends as well as tying in to both the wider Dawn of DC arc and the upcoming Beastworld event for later in the year.

Knight Terrors: First Blood lives up to its game perfectly. A tantalising opening gambit in DC's ambitious two-month event.

Knight Terrors: Batman #1 sets the bar incredibly high for DC's latest event. A story of classic Joshua Williamson creation, it seamlessly blends together action, character and nightmarish creations to grapple and the reader and refuse to let them go.

An epic start to DC's latest event. Bolstered by Federici and Anderson's outstanding visuals, Mark Waid's scene setting one-shot is one hell of a tease for what is to come.

A scintillating mix of stories and perspectives from across DC's Lazarus Planet event. With many of the major players off the board, this mix of characters excellently broadens the scope of the DC Universe.

Another blockbuster chapter in the "Darkest Hour arc. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is an unstoppable juggernaut with Flores captaining the ship as our characters face what appears to be certain doom once again.

A true celebration of the franchise. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 30th Anniversary Special #1 is a brilliant collection of stories which strike deep to the heart of what has made the franchise so endearing and long lasting.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return #2 is an incredible second issue. It builds on the first issue yet more with exquisite storytelling and gorgeous artwork.

Another incredible chapter for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return. The hits just keep on coming as Johnson and Hotson continue twisting the story in new an increasingly exciting directions in readiness for next month's finale.

Multiversity has a lot of ground to cover this month. After setting up a complex mystery, Tieri needs to drop some heavy exposition to bring the reader up to speed. Luckily he does so in typical bonkers Harley style. Engaging, high stakes and melodramatic, Harley Screws Up the DCU is everything a Harley fan could ask for.

Harley Screws up the DCU is having some major fun this month. Twisting the legendary origins of classic DC characters and finding ways for Harley to screw them up. Tieri's playful storytelling and Faerber's kooky visual style continue to work together to create dynamite reading.

An interesting first glimpse in to Rick Remender's latest creation. Whilst lacking some much needed context there's enough here to warrant a return for issue #2.

In the run up to the 100th issue, Nightwing #96 is a Blockbuster get it finale to "The Battle for Bludhaven's Heart arc.

Nightwing #100 is the perfect celebration, not just of the character but of the creative vision laid out by Taylor and Redondo. The high stakes action is combined with incredible emotional beats to create the most satisfying and poignant anniversary issue.

Nightwing #103 continues to be a love-letter to the character. The two storylines celebrate his humanity and his heroism in different but complimentary ways with both Tom Taylor and C.S. Pacat exploring different ends of the narrative spectrum.

An intriguing start to the latest arc of Nightwing. Taylor appears to be taking the series in an interesting new direction following previous, more grounded stories. Ever unpredictable, I'm interested to see where this goes next.

Nightwing takes a huge leap with its latest chapter, introducing a brand new location unlike anything the series has done before. Taking action-adventure to the high seas continues to prove successful for the former Boy Wonder and his superstar creative team.

Tying in to the Beast World event does nothing to stop the juggernaut that is DC's Nightwing. Issue #110 tells a wonderful, smaller scale story from within the Earth-shattering event. Never compromising the core values that Tom Taylor has brought to the titular character.

A rich and heartfelt first chapter in Taylor's penultimate arc of Nightwing. A heartfelt story which speaks to the core Dick Grayson as a character. Striking words, rendered with beautiful artwork.

Ahead of his impending exit from Nightwing, Tom Taylor feels particularly contemplative as he explores the relationship between Dick and Bruce. The results are a heartfelt story which reminds us just why we fell in love with the former Boy Wonder.

A wonderful celebration of 300 issues of Nightwing. Taylor's poignant story gives occasion to honour Dick Grayson's legacy whilst Conrad's backup brings a short, sharp burst of action.

The Original X-Men is a tantalising glimpse in to a potential new golden era for the titular team. Solid writing and blockbuster artwork make this a great jumping off point for future storytelling.

Overall a great start for Outsiders. Kelly and Lanzing are doing great work in the DCU and it's cool to see them continue that with this kind of project. I'm excited for more.

A visual treat which surprises with some incredible character development. DC's Outsiders is really hitting its stride which this introspective yet large scale story.

Outsiders is truly becoming a standout series for DC. An excellent example of creative team synergy with the final result being a unique, compelling experience for the reader.

Exploring the underworld of the DC Universe looks great on Outsiders. Another solid story which expresses Kelly and Lanzing's commitment to versatile storytelling and meaningful character development.

A bonkers issue which deftly illustrates the futility of searching for answer in an infinite multiverse of possibility.

A brilliant start to this new original series. A compelling detective story rich in character and drama alike. Thanks to this wonderful creative team I'm already in love with this world and its characters.

As the mystery deepens, Pine & Merrimac seems to get darker and more challenging yet thanks to its wonderful character it's a true joy to read.

With the Catalyst War event on the horizon Radiant Black is running at full speed in preparation. Issue #24 allows Costa and Monti to explore their wild side in a technicolour explosion whilst Higgins sets in motion some huge plot lines for the future…

Ranger Academy is really hitting its stride. With its characters introduced and its location explored, there's so much to enjoy in Maria Ingrande Mora's spirited storytelling plus Jo Mi-Gyeong and Joana Lafuente's fun artwork.

The final part of Lemire and Nguyen's rounds out the story with an emotional, gut punch conclusion. Nguyen's sensational artwork once again perfectly compliments Lemire's powerful words.

Waid and Mora are reinventing the Billy Batson character for a new audience. A mix of clever exposition and high stakes action instantly immerse the reader in the Shazam! world. Whilst Mora's remarkable artwork continues to be an instant sell.

Shazamily Matters offers a level of insight in to each of the Shazam! Family characters which a film script just can't deliver. It's great to spend time with each of the characters individually as well as glimpsing more of family life. Though the stories are similar in tone, the anthology is elevated by a dramatic and dynamic set of visual styles.

Sirens of the City #1 is a must-read, right out of the gate this first issue is ticking all the boxes for a blockbuster debut. It's tantalising, atmospheric and exciting. I can't wait for more.

A worthy entry in to the Star Trek pantheon, Sons of Star Trek #1 explores familiar themes and concepts in a refreshing and original way.

Specs is quite simply perfect.

In its third issue Specs grabs tightly at various plot threads before running with them at breakneck speed. Some give these guys an Eisner!

The stakes were high coming in to the final issue of Specs, but Booher, Shehan and team absolutely stick the landing with a compelling and emotional ending.

The whole creative team take things to the next level with Star Trek #7. Giving it all she's got, this is a series travelling at warp 9.9 hurtling towards a huge, legacy-serving conflict.

If the “Day of Blood” event cemented that Star Trek was here to stay, then “A Savage World of Glass and Bone” is the perfect way to build on those foundations. Fast-paced storytelling, a shock ending and character returns, what more could a Trek fan ask for?

A brilliant game of two halves as Star Trek takes a momentary pause for some impactful character work before getting down to some intense, high stakes action.

A fiercely Star Trek final chapter for the “Glass and Bone” arc.

The first chapter of the “Pleroma” arc poses some interesting questions for Sisko and the Theseus crew. A deeply personal story but with an apocalyptic threat from a god-like species with ties back to The Original Series.

Building on last month's debut issue, Star Trek: Defiant #2 is a triumph of storytelling within the Trek universe. Masterfully written and exceptionally well rendered, Defiant is giving the main Trek series a run for its money.

A surprisingly effective bottle issue for Star Trek: Defiant. We've got twists, action, humour and plenty of nightmare fuel in the shape of TNG's parasitic aliens. What more could we ask for?

A solid second issue in the four-issue, four-week series. Artist Joe Eisma's work to mash up Star Trek with the world of Universal Monsters is worth the price of the book alone.

Another engaging and entertaining read from Maggs and Greco. Star Trek: Picard's Academy continues to delight with it's fresh approach to Trek storytelling and captivating artwork.

This is Star Trek: Picard's Academy kicking it up to warp 9.5. Everything about this book is working perfectly. Each month its consistently topping itself, getting better and really creating something special for fans of this character.

My favourite issue of the series to-date. An effortless example of how a long-running franchise like Star Trek has the versatility to take one of its most steadfast dramatic characters and put them in to a YA adventure story.

The Bat-Man: First Knight is an instant page turner. Echoes of classic Batman serial stories alongside atmospheric comic book visuals are a dynamite concoction that is not to be missed.

Book two of The Bat-Man: First Knight continues to spin a ferocious story of a Dark Knight trying to find his place in the world.

The Cull lands its third five-star review in as many months. The series is unparalleled in its incredible storytelling and delicious artwork. With just two issues to go it seems like we may be entering the end game and I cannot wait to see what happens next.

What can I saw other than The Cull is one of the best single best series of 2023.

A thrilling conclusion to the blockbuster series. Equal parts satisfying and devastating as we end of a mind-bending cliffhanger. Thompson and Iulis have been a dynamite pairing and I hope to see them re-teamed for more storytelling in the future.

A beautiful way to add context to one of DC's landmark moments in history. The Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Special focusses on the human impact of the Man of Steel through the people who know him best. What a stunning way to celebrate the anniversary!

A solid follow-up with a strong focus on character over mythology. With just enough teasers for the future, Brisson has brought us to a place where The Displaced is ready to fly.

A solid follow-up issues which doubles down on the best aspects of its debut. The Holy Roller is successfully moving on from its few awkward moments and finding its groove as a brutal, culturally relevant property.

The New Golden Age is the perfect one-shot to herald in a new era of legacy for the DCU. A typical Johns mystery, it has some huge twists but ultimately suffers from it's own one-shot structure.

The Vampire Slayer continues to explore a Scooby Gang without Buffy at the helm. Great visuals and strong characters drive what is an issue killing time before the big fight ensues.

The Vampire Slayer continues its drive to tell an emotional, character-driven story as it reaches a huge turning point for several key characters.

It's a bittersweet return to The Last Vampire Slayer universe. Gilly has crafted an excellent coda that feels like a surprise bonus for fans of last year's four-part series. Whilst there undoubtedly feels like there is more story to tell, the special feels like a fitting place to leave these characters

I'm impressed. I had high hopes for what Dynamite could do with the ThunderCats license and issue #1 doesn't disappoint. Shalvey does an incredible job taking the story from familiar territory to something original.

With a masterfully written second issue Tim Drake: Robin has cemented itself as a serious contender for readers' attention. Fitzmartin isn't playing around when it comes to putting Drake front and centre in the spotlight.

Tim Drake: Robin continues to explore who the character is without his family around him. Is this issue bolstered by their sort of appearance? Yes. Does it take away from Tim's story? Absolutely not. This is still an exciting exploration of a character who has been long crying out for the spotlight.

The premiere arc of Tim Drake: Robin takes a huge step towards its finale with a deeply personal twist for Tim. A villainous reveal, a Batgirls cameo and a coalescing of the clues makes issue #4 a festive treat for fans.

Easily Tim Drake: Robin's most face-paced issue, this month feels like the penultimate episode of your favourite TV show as it heads in to potentially game-changing finale.

The finale to the first arc of Tim Drake: Robin doesn't disappoint. It's high stakes, emotional action which really tests the limits of the titular character. Fitzmartin ties up loose ends with all the gusto we've come to expect, leaving plenty of intrigue for what comes next.

The final arc of Tim Drake: Robin has a strong start. I don't want to see this book disappearing but if this is how it ends then I'm looking forward to seeing what Meghan Fitzmartin has in store.

The penultimate issue of Tim Drake: Robin is packed with suspense and conflict. With Tim torn between Bernard and Batwoman, Meghan Fitzmartin is ensuring that the book goes out the way it came in, focussed on its titular hero and his mission to balance a real life with his crime fighting. I'm not ready for it to end, but I'm ready to see what comes next.

A note-perfect ending to the series. Tim Drake: Robin goes out on a high with a fist-bumping injection of hope and hype for the future of one of DC's best and brightest Robins. I'm going to miss this series but I'm so grateful for the last ten months of excellent storytelling.

A five-star debut for the returning Titans. Taylor takes all the sensibilities which have made Nightwing the #1 DC title and applies that to a group of characters who have been crying out for a blockbuster title of their own. There's a tough road ahead and the Titans have big shoes to fill. But under this creative team I have no doubt that Titans will be a huge success.

Titans #7 has the titular team on the back foot and in need of a win. But despite their ever growing problems and a wider global catastrophe, Tom Taylor never loses sight of what means the Titans a fan-favourite team. Their humanity and their connection to each other.

A blistering debut for DC's latest event and further proof that the Titans have earned their spot as the headline act. An outstanding story from one of DC's finest writers, joined here by a blockbuster art team at the top of their game.

A brilliant second issue both furthering and complicating Daniel Warren Johnson's story. The added context and depth is a welcome addition to the franchise. A must-read for Transformers fans.

A cool collection of stories which will easily acclimatise any reader to this new character. Trinity is fun, exciting and yet not too far away from being deep in to one to the DCU's biggest contemporary storylines.

Exquisitely paced, elegantly written and beautifully rendered, Ultimate Spider-Man #1 is the Peter Parker book I've been waiting for.

A brand new era begins with an incredible first issue. King and Sampere have reinvented the title with a rich new story and a dynamic visual style. It might be a sad day for Amazon-US relations but it's a bold new start for Wonder Woman.

A page-turner of epic proportions. Every panel of Wonder Woman #5 is pure bliss to withhold. King's story is upping the emotional stakes this month, ramping up audience anxieties for a full blown war.

A fun side quest for Clark and Diana. King writes a pitch-perfect day out for two characters facing uncertain futures back home on Earth.

Simply put. Breathtaking.

The debut issue of World's Finest: Teen Titans is a huge moment for DC and these characters. The series crashes out of the gate with bountiful energy and optimism making it a bright corner of a DC Universe which is currently exploring its twisted dark side with Knight Terrors.
