Hilarity and hijinks ensues as the Birds find themselves elbow deep into a fight with an army of evil shapeshifting beefcakes! Its this type of tongue in cheek take that Thompsons using that makes this book a must read every month. I cant wait to see what that wonderfully deranged mind comes up with next!

The series is winding down, and Duggans trying to tie up his loose ends. Its a step in the right direction, and has been the most enjoyable since Kittys transformation into Shadowkat. Hopefully the team keeps on this trend, as the series winds down to Uncannys 700th issue.

There are lots of themes and past plot points that the team has uncovered here. From the twins being the biological children of Magneto, and that status quo returning, to the fact of Wandas mutant abilities of probability manipulation resurfacing while she was battling the Wizard at her destroyed shop in Lotkill. Their addition really enhanced this storyline, and hopefully well see these themes continue in the upcoming ongoing that launches later this spring.

Its the big finale to Joshua Williamsons first big arc on Superman, and what we got was aces. While not everything hit, it was those moments like Lois being by Clarks bedside, or the kitschy, yet lush adventure set in the Wild West with Marilyn Moonlight. Lots to enjoy, and while its not the best Dark Phoenix Saga, its still an enjoyable comic just the same.

Adams Hal stresses on his humanity, giving us a man behind the mask, and lets us in to see behind his eyes. These two have really given us the most grounded Green Lantern Ive read in quite sometime, and Im loving them for it.

To all good things must come to an end, and its never been more true than it is with Big Two flagship comics. Duggans run has had some amazing peaks and valleys, but sometimes the lows seemed to outweigh the highs, and really distracted from my overall experience. Duggan will have to end on the highest of notes, or it could put a blot on this era that has revolutionized the world of Marvels Merry Mutants.

A brand new arc, and the Birds adds Vixen to the team, which is a huge boon for me. Ive been a big fan of Kelly Thompsons stuff since her days on Captain Marvel, and watching her play in DCs sandbox is a real treat. I cant wait to see what she does with the team as the series goes on.

WARNING! WARNING! Rhodey and the War Machine armor DOES NOT appear in this issue, so if thats what youre here for, youll be disappointed. As this run, as well as the age of Krakoa comes to a rather mundane ending, Gerry Duggan keeps dragging his feet with Tony, Emma, Feilong, and how theyre going to get Starks technology out of these new Sentinels. Could this be setting up the new Armor Wars event to tie into the Marvel show? Maybe, but if this is the opening salvo, it needs to be a tad more engaging.

Its another fun end to this story for a run thats just been a lot of fun to read. Not everything needs to be world ending melodrama, and Joshua really gets it. How long can we keep up with these Silver Age throwbacks, who knows, but Im here for the long haul.

In a line riddled with missed opportunities, and picking up plot points that many people havent thought of in years, this issue is full of both. Duggans run has had issues from its inception, and this story is just further proof of that. Im not sure if its indicative of the lack of direction from the editorial department, but its become indicative of the decline the line has endured. Treading water until the next big thing shouldnt be how this era ends.

His new lineup for his own Villainy Inc. has some very questionable choices, especially with Grail and Circe. I cant see them joining some pretender to defeat Diana, unless that was the plot all along. A New God/Amazon hibrid, and an immortal sorceress plucked from myth has to have something bigger and deeper up their sleeves, otherwise whats the point of who they are? Time will tell, and if the pace is any indication of how long that will be, could be a very long time.

Rainbows She-Hulk run has had a lot going for it, albeit a tad bit slow in some regards. Theres action, like the fight between Hulk, She-Hulk, and Anathema, but the fight feels non-essential to the plot, and thats one of the biggest complaints Ive had with the book thus far. Fortunately were getting a truly fun book thats not out here trying to change the medium, its just here to be fun. And for that I thank the creative team.

Its a slow start, and as we continue on this journey the nagging questions still remain: why hasnt Carol reached out to someone regarding her current situation, where shes forced to trade places with Yuna in the Negative Zone, or what exactly is up with the the Nega Bands. Its a great premise, but the team keeps missing the mark when it comes with each new issue.

Phillip Kennedy Johnson began his run on Superman and Action Comics by taking Superman by taking him out of the solar system, and became a gladiator on Monguls WarWorld. Through his time there, hed inspire the victims of Mongul, and his barbaric nature, to rise up and become something more than what they were made to believe. A hero. And thats exactly who we see in this annual. Thanks for the ride.

The story was pretty formulaic, the surprise ending wasnt really a surprise, the cast didnt gel, and there were members here whose roles were quite forgettable. I still want to see the concept explored in the new era that the merry mutants are about to endeavor. It just needs the right cast, and creators, and it could be a big hit for both franchises.

As Williamson continues to build this seedy underbelly of Metropolis, Joshua flips the script and takes us to the Wild West. Having Bruno Redondo on art duties only increases the enjoyment level for this arc. Lets see what comes next for the Kryptonite Kid!

While the main plot starts to lose its steam, the quiet moments between Diana and the young boy, Jack, who is dying is one of the sweetest, and most earnest moments weve seen from Diana in quite some time. Mix that in with Samperes art, and its the first story since Uncanny X-Men #303 thats put a lump in my throat while reading it. Plus we get another installment with the Trinitys children, by King and Ortega, thats just so fun. A real sweet piece thats made me smile.

Jeremy Adams and Xermanicos Green Lantern continues to plant Hals feet firmly on the ground, as they rebuild his life on earth, as well as his role as the Green Lantern of earth. We still dont know where his ring comes from, or why he cant escape earths atmosphere, but its still early in the run. Scott Godlewskis the guest artist, and he brings his a-game here. Just a visually stunning book all around.

As we close this chapter on Phillip Kennedy Johnsons illustrious work on Superman, and his worlds, both in space, and on planet earth, we get a simultaneous feeling of joy and sorrow. Joyful over the ups and downs, as were greeted with a Superman who always lives up to the meaning of truth, justice, and a better tomorrow, and to be honest, thats all we can ask for. Superman may be the first superhero ever created, and despite being 85 years old, still can give us hope that theres going to be a better tomorrow. To those who are going to follow up this run, I say good luck. I cant wait to see whats next.

Ed Brisson and Scott Godlewski knock it out of the park as they finish up their run on Alphs Flight. We saw some great fight sequences, and art. Heather as Nemesis was very clear in the beginning, but it just hits all of my checks. Please Marvel. Give us more Alpha.

Duggans X-Men has been a roller coaster in terms of quality, but has been on an upward trajectory since the Fall of X era began, but this issue just didnt hit the mark. Cassaras work here knocked it out of the park though. Hopefully this team can nail the landing.

Despite being a part of a huge crossover featuring the more street level Marvel Comics characters this first issue could stand on its own. Steve and Carola do a pretty bang up job here crafting a rather new reader friendly first issue. Sure, theres some rough spots, but overall I found this to be a rather decent first outing. Heres hoping this team can knock it out of the park.

Just when I thought I was growing bored with Joshuas Superman, he pumps out a killer issue like this, and brings me right back in. Plus Glebs art really improved with this issue, which really helped with my enjoyment of the issue. While I know Lexs turn to the light will never last forever, its a nice change of pace. What do these guys have up next for the Man of Steel? Dont know, but I cant wait.

Tom Kings work has been a very slow burn, but his premise for this story is pretty interesting thus far. Is it an original idea? No, not really. DC kinda did the same thing with the Legends event back in the mid 80s, but with this the attention is solely on Diana. Theres so much room to explore here.

Its almost the end of the mini, and the big reveal came up falling flat, and was telegraphed from the first page of this book. The characterization of some of the characters has been a delight, but with the lackluster reveal, and the romance that doesnt seem to be going anywhere justdoesnt land. The art has been doing the heavy lifting thus far, but beautiful art can only go so far. Hopefully the ending lands, making this mini mean something rather than being just a cash grab.

Alphas back, and better than ever. Despite the long history of shady deeds done by the Canadian government, and their own superhuman resources, the team shows what they really are. If youre sleeping on this book, its time to wake up.

Unity Squad is back, and better than ever! With this all star crew, Uncanny Avengers, and X-Men scribe Gerry Duggan, and former Avengers artist Javier Garron are back with this motley crew, as they The issue picks right up where we left off, and thats with the Cap. Krak breaks Captain Americas arm in front of the MLF, and the new Uncanny Avengers roster, before getting away with an atomic warhead, all in the mmThere were a couple things that jumped out at me upon my first read through, and the biggest was Duggan heavily implying that Andreas is either gay, or in love with his sister, both of which could be a very difficult subject

A story that feels like a retread of the first arc doesnt catch this reader like it should. Add in recycled story beats from the first arc and an artist that doesnt hit the mark, and youve got a recipe for mediocrity. Jamal Campbells cover is a beautiful reminder if just how far this series interior art has fallen in just one issue.

Its a new start for the amazing Amazon, and the team has put Diana in a position that were not used to seeing. The teams introduction of a new villain, with a powerful new weapon could be a game changer for Diana. Especially since it seems like the new weapon will have a big impact on the future of Dianas world.

Adams, Xermanico, PJK, and Montos have a firm grasps on the franchise, and both teams are determined to get as much bang for your buck with every issue. The teams world building have the two characters couldnt be more unalike than they are here, but its okay. My only complaint was the hiatus during the Knight Terror event, it really screwed with the teams momentum. DC should have taken the route Marvel did with this years Contest of Chaos crossover.

Johnson continues to take us on a journey through the macabre wastelands of the Marvel Universe, bringing us to the Man-Thing, in the Louisiana bayou. As the guardian of the Nexus fights to warn the Hulk, his new companion might have run out of luck. The stories creepy, and the art elevates the story, but Im still not quite there with the direction. Kennedys earned some leeway, so Ill wait for him to hit his stride.

Another solid issue with regards to Wandas character, but we are still plagued with a lack of action. Sure, it was a tad brilliant to have two titans of magic literally dance together, but Id love to see what Steve and Lorenzo would have cooked up between the two.

After coming off of that high last issue, Duggan stubs his toe this issue, and it was pretty noticeable. The story tried to do too much in too small of a space, and left me wanting just a tad bit more.

Marvel Age #1000 is just the sort of thing youd expect from Marvel. Stacked with some amazing talent, a veritable whos who, but what we got was some decent to amazing, with the majority being just good. Which is all a fan could have asked for really.

The issue is a bit of a hodgepodge, and the narrative is a bit all over the place, but it gives us a Jean who uses her powers unscrupulously, and its been an ongoing struggle that Jean has had over the course of the Krakoan era that has yet to be addressed. Will this be our chance to see Jean come face to face with her indiscriminate use of her telepathy over the last few years, only time will tell.

ORCHIS and Department H, two of the most sinister organizations thats ever existed in the Marvel Universe have combined forces to destroy the mutant menace, but will the government sponsored team, Alpha Flight go along with it? Brisson and Godlewski have started a tale thatll hopefully resonate with fans and readers, because this team deserves their time to shine.

In the wake of ORCHISs terrorist attack on the X-Men, and their Avengers allies, Captain America reforms the Unity Squad, with Quicksilver, Rogue, Gambit, M and Psylocke, and they take their fight to the frontlines, getting ready to do battle with the all new, all deadly Mutant Liberation Front. Can they save the world, and in turn themselves? Duggans continuing his winning streak after a really great opening salvo in the Fall of X. The team wastes no time in getting set up, and he keeps the book going at a breakneck pace. Hopefully the ending lands at the same quality as the opening shot, because Avengers and X-Men fans can rejoice over this killer team.

The final chapter of Wonder Woman, with Justice League Dark mates, Bobo and Constantine, face the horrors that Insomnia has cooked up for them, and the creative team really dug into what makes Diana who she is. Hopefully this is a trial run for a run on JLD, because this team would really excel with them.

As the story drags a bit, we get some key character moments between Captain America and the Black Panther, which looks like it could give us those classic Cap schisms hes had with Iron Man moments, like during the original Armor Wars, Operation: Zero Tolerance, plus a little known story called Civil War. You might not have heard of it. Anyway, I cant see what comes next for these two.

Waid and ELup continue with this fun little romp with the original teen team, bringing a story that delves into their past, building this teams foundation with a modern spin. Emanuelas artwork just enhances every scene, making the book as close to a masterpiece as you can get.

Steve Orlando keeps churning out this sleeper hit, and every issue gets a little bit better than the last. While Darcys continued presence is beginning to grate, seeing the Scarlet Witch square up against the Wicked Witch of Oz was well worth it. BUT BRING BACK PIETRO AND LORNA! All this, plus we get Wandas brand new villain HEXFINDER!

After a middling year two, Gerry Duggan looks like hes hit his stride again. Giving a deeper look into the darker side of Kitty Pryde. It really excited seeing her in this capacity again, after the last four years seeing her as a pirate captain, shes showing the X-Men shes not a little girl anymore. As a Kitty fan, Im ready for this next chapter for the girl next door.

A series plagued by delays, with a sketchy hold on continuity, and a story that elicits an overall lack of interest in a story thats supposed to reintroduce the Justice Society back into the main DC earth continuity should be big news. Unfortunately the comic feels like a chore to read, but unfortunately thats what were getting here.

The Twilight Court strikes! As Earths Mightiest faces the group that brought down Kang, can the team survive? The team deliver us a fluffy, filler of an issue that did little to progress the story. Hopefully this isnt a standard for the run, because I expect great things from these two creators.

DCs horror event Knight Terrors is in full swing, and were finally to the part where Wonder Woman gets her own tie in. Unfortunately she felt like a guest to John Constantine in her own tie in. Meanwhile Steph Williams and Meghan Hetrick give us a dark story on Paradise Island where Nubias dealing with her own nightmare from the well of Horrors, and its a pitch perfect backup. Heres hoping that the next issue Diana doesnt feel like the guest in her own story.

DCs set up these series of one-shots to give an inner look at DCs biggest team, and its a breath of fresh air to see them in situations where they can be who they always were, prior to the decades of trauma thats been inflicted upon them. Shannon and Dean Hale get Kory, get who she is, and have an interesting backstory for her. Add in the beauty that is Javier Rodriguezs art, and you have a killer combination.

Its the beginning of a new era for the DC Universe, and for Hawkgirl and theyre pulling out all of the stops. Kendras moved to the big city, and is trying to start new, but shes in Metropolis. Metropolis, the hub of the Superfamily, and it runs the risk of feeling too cramped for its own good. Hopefully its not a long term, because I dont want to see her become a guest star in her own book.

Mark Waids expansion of the Worlds Finest brand continues here, and hes maintaining the level of excellence thats come to be expected from this industry Titan. Bringing along superstar artist, Emanuela Lupacchino, theyre breathing life into the Bronze Age teen team, but giving them a modern flair. Not everything landed, but its Waid doing what Waid does best, so its a really enjoyable issue nonetheless.

With this end to the flagships X-Men title coming to a close Duggan and Cassaras last issue before the Hellfire Gala and the new official team closes with more of a whimper than a growl. This last year feels wasted, as the book was thrust from one crossover to another, which has been an awful disservice to the creators, fans, and the cast. Hopefully year 3 is better than this last.

Johnson has continued to deliver one of the best takes on Superman, and his world that weve seen in a long time, and hes giving us some new takes on some very classic faces, while also giving some new ideological threats that could prove to be far more dangerous than some of the physical adversaries. While Jurgens and Weeks gives us a previously untold tale with the Kents, and a team up with Steel and Mr. Miracle, that leads into the current Steelworks mini.

As Steve Orlando begins laying the groundwork to the upcoming magical mystical event, Contest of Chaos, that revolves around Wanda, Agatha, and the elder god of chaos, ChThon, and Steve just keeps hitting all of the right buttons that Id like to see this event go in. Agathas putting her former pupil through her paces to see if shes strong enough to hold in an elder god of chaos. What we get here is just the beginning

Its the fifth issue of the newest run of Williamson and Campbells return of Superman to his own self-titled series, and theyre still off to a strong start. The newest additions to the Superman rogues gallery hasnt been the greatest of additions, the story being delivered has been entertaining. Williamsons sticking to his strengths, and has managed to avoid some pitfalls thats negatively affected some of his more loftier series.

In this heartfelt goodbye, Becky Cloonan and Michael W. Conrad joined by a whos who of amazing artists give us this beautiful vignette as they close their chapter on Dianas life as they pass the torch to Tom King and Daniel Sampere on Dianas next big adventure.

Kelly Thompson ends her historic run on Carols longest running title as Captain Marvel, and she proves why shes going to go down as one of the best of Carols writers. Thank you for the journey.

Its not about one cosmic event to the next that makes these characters interesting, its the people in the story, reaching out to make you feel for them, relate to them, and ultimately see yourself in them, through the good times and the bad, and Adams and Johnson are giving us this here. Its not a perfect comic, but its getting there.

In what can be called easily be called the lead up to the new era for the X-Men, the battle between the mutants and the new Stark Sentinels, its the least interesting pieces to this story. The real meat here is the rift thats developing between Scott and Jean, as well as the upcoming war thats going to deal with all of the myriad clones of Sinister. What role will they play? Will the X-Men be able to deal with ORCHIS, AND the cornerstone that Scott and Jean provide to their fellow X-Men?

As Leah Williams and Marguerite Sauvage closes the chapter for Power Girls role in the Lazarus Planet event, the duo sets Paige and Lilith up for their next journey, and its something to look forward to. Cant wait to see where else these two take Power Girl next. Should be something interesting.

Ewings been one of Marvels best architects over the years, working on developing amazing character defining work, diluting them to their essence, and building up what works, while fixing what doesnt. Hes building up from his previous work in minis like Wasp, and bringing it here to cultivate it, and building an arc that can touch all corners of the Marvel universe. While hes not as well known as or lauded as some writers, his quality of work should speak volumes.

Williamsons giving us a serviceable mini, but hes trying to throw in everything and the kitchen sink into the plot that its starting to become a bit of a drain on the flow of the book. On top of the plot, were also dealing with a cast that is too bloated to get any kind of significant character development here, and the characters and fans are the ones suffering for it. Fortunately Sean Izaakses art has helped me overlook some things, but if Williamson cant pull this together, I fear Ollies first solo in six years will be a bust.

Like a good 80s pop song the issue leaves you wishing the song had just one more run for the chorus, or that moment when you squeal when watching someone get slapped on a daytime soap opera, it gives you what you wantalmost. Theres this yearning you feel, the issue is satisfying, but it needs just a bit more to satisfy. Its this feeling that can describe Duggans run, and Im not sure how many more almost theres hes got left before we need another gang guiding the flagship.

As we slowly wind down to the ending of this fan favorite run, CloonRad continues to deliver one of the funnest runs on Wonder Woman that Ive read over the last 30 years. The team, with a veritable whos who of artists, come together to give us a fun look at how Dianas cast feel about the amazing Amazon. Its been one heck of a ride, and Michael and Becky have made it a memorable one. Theyre not just writers working on my favorite comic characters, Ive come to view them as fellow fans, and even friends, whove wanted to share their own love for the character, and got the chance to do it. Ill miss them, but will follow them wherever they go next.

Its the end to the biggest Brood saga that weve had in years, but the ending just didnt hit the way I was expecting it to. We still have one more issue to go, but I hope that this issue doesnt have a negative impact on one of the strongest solo titles Marvel has had in years.

Jeremy Adams and Xermanico have brought Hal back to earth, and back as a test pilot, but are taking us to a modern touch. Hal feels like Hal, and were getting a run that feels like classic Hal. Were getting a new status quo for the Corps thats under new leadership under the United Planets instead of the Guardians. Meanwhile Xermanico is knocking it out of the park visually. These two are coming in strong, but we also have Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Montos building a strong foundation for John Stewart, and how his new status will affect the greater DC universe. This is an exciting time to be a Green Lantern fan.

Its a solid second issue to this new team, and both MacKay and Ferry seem to have a firm grasp on how they want this book to work. Ferrys art here is a masterful showing by the legend, and compliments the story beats flawlessly. The few weak spots can be course corrected in a book thats still so young, so Strange fans are going to get one heck of a ride.

As the X-line continues to meander, moving from one pointless crossover to the next, muddling along until the next status quo shaking era, this mini was a bright gem that shined brightly, not only reminding fans of a team and a time that seems so long ago, but also reminds fans of why they became fans of the X-Men. If this and Gambit were just the beginning, I cant wait to see what comes next.

The story is high paced, filled with heart and personality thats been one of the cornerstones of the current run comes to a close, Becky, Michael, and Amancay bring the thunder and fun with this storyline thats building up the new era for Shazam!, were treated to a lead up to the Dawn of DC. While Im sad to see them go, I cant wait to see what comes next.

Its the finale to the Brood Saga, and what started off stellar ended with a bit of a whimper. Well have to see how Kelly Thompson ends things over in Captain Marvel to full my gauge this crossover. There was one point, when Synch did what was necessary to save those who hadnt been infected by the Brood that just resonated with me. It was one of the strongest moments in this volume. No text to read, but the gravitas of this scene spoke volumes.

Steve Orlando and Sara Pichelli have become a real tour de force with Wanda, giving her some agency, power, and a demeanor that just oozes confidence, which with Wanda is something that we dont get a lot in other series that Wandas a part of the cast. Often we get a Wanda who is powerful, but theres always this fear of losing control, but not here. Wandas ready to take on the world, and shes not worried at all. Kudos.

Duggan and Frigeri continue dragging Tony down, but the pace is a tad slow. It feels like hes clearly writing for the trade, which could lead to fans just not caring, or losing interest quickly. Frigeris style reads differently here than it did in Captain Marvel, Avengers, and the last volume of Guardians. Its not a bad thing, its giving us a more subdued feel in the book. I cant wait to see what happens when we get to the big battles.

Doctor Strange is back, and he makes inter dimensional house calls! Jed MacKay and Pasqual Ferry are a match made in comics nirvana, giving us a fun, and gorgeous romp from Earth to the Purple Dimension, off saving some magical immigrants from being exploited by a nefarious dimensional warlord. MacKays writing mixed with the pitch perfect rendition by Ferry has the earmarks as one of those character defining runs.

Were five issues in and still not sure what it is that the Brood want with Binary, Carol, or Rogue yet, which is causing the story to drag a little. Theres a passing reference to whats going on in the X-Men book, kinda making this story tie in to whats going on there, but it feels a tad like cheating, with the connecting covers and all. Hopefully next issues answer some of the questions left unanswered.

Orlandos showing a real mastery when it comes to handling Wanda. Shes self-confident in her abilities, as well as those around here. While there are some things, like the truncated fight scenes, and the lack of exploration of Wandas feelings towards Magnetos death that are the standouts, the character work here is second to none. Hopefully with time, and less one and dones, these issues will be addressed.

Duggan and Caselli are out here holding back no punches, as they continue their adventure that could spell doom for the entire universe. Duggans giving us a Jean who feels like shes full of gravitas, giving us a deeper look at the woman for who she truly is. No Phoenix force, no life incarnate, no she who burns away that doesnt work, but a woman, with complexities and character. This is the Jean Ive been aching to read. No pretenses, or perfection personified, but a woman who will do anything in order to do what she feels is right. Whether it is right or not is for you to decide.

Its a new day in Asgard, and Thor and Jane are headed to Hel to find the souls from Valhalla, but they arent there. Cates and Gronbekk are here to give us a brand new tale that looks to lead into something that could be big for the line. Can they pull it off? Only time will tell.

Its a new chapter in Betsy Braddocks life as Captain Britain, but unfortunately it seems like its just more of the same. Not much has changed for Betsy since taking on the mantle, despite being under Howards control for the last four years, and the only thing new is her relationship with Rachel, which came at the ending of the Knights of X mini. Im not sure if Howards got anything new to say about Betsy and her world, but Ill keep waiting patiently.

Kelly Thompsons been working on Carol and her world for almost four years, and she just keeps on going, giving us one of the most consistently great comics coming from the Big Two, and is easily one of the best female lead titles on stands. Shes been world building Carol that reminds me of what we saw with Geoff Johnss run on Green Lantern, with the difference shes giving us a much more intimate look into who Carol is, why she does what she does, and why shes Marvels premiere female superhero. Almost 50 issues in, and I still cant wait to see what she does next.

In a run thats hit the right notes in the first two issues, hit a road bump with this issue. The character Duggans using missed the mark, as I really dont have the connection to him that we should. Duggan needs to get a better handle on Tony and Rhodey, because it felt cold and sterile. The issue overall felt more like a filler issue to pad a trade for the story, but Frigeris are really pulled things together.

This second year of Duggans X-Men has had a rough start, he returns to form with the beginning of the new arc Lord of the Brood, thats a kinda crossover with Kelly Thompsons Captain Marvel, thats got her own Brood arc going on, so I cant wait to see where we go from here.

Jed MacKay and Alessandro Cappuccio continue their run of excellence here, bringing back some obscure Speedball villains turned assassins, but someones clearly pulling their strings. Who can this person be? What could this mean for Moon Knight and his crew? Will he be able to stop them in time before they kill the rest of his Shadow Cabinet? So many questions, and I cant wait to see where we go from here.

Steve Orlando serves up a solid issue, stacked with character development, while Sara Pichellis work here elevates the story. This issue might not have landed as deftly as it did with an artist not of Saras caliber. The teams creating an atmosphere thats rich, and full of intrigue, as they give Wanda this new role in the greater universe. Hopefully well see some action in the coming issues, as thats been missing with these first two issues. We also get a Scarlet Witch and Storm team up by Stephanie Williams and Chris Allen thats bound to impress old and new fans of these two very formidable women.

While making Tonys life a living hell isnt something new, the new team of Duggan and Frigeri are making it light with some fun dialogue and gorgeous art to look at. All signs point to a crossover with the X-Men book (that Duggans also writing), so this should prove to be interesting.

Ewing does what Ewing does best: give us some deep cuts to Marvel continuity, while giving us the next step for these heroes. His Jan is spot on, flirty and aloof, yet pensive and layered, and his Nadias sweet, and aloof, so Im intrigued in what they have in store for us.

Duggans run has taken an upward trajectory since the Annual, but theres still some things that just stick in my craw, like the lack of development of Firestar. Overall a decent issue, and the ending has me excited to see where we go with the upcoming Brood saga. Villas a welcome addition to this issue, and I cant wait to see what he does next.

Were halfway through this arc, and Thompson and Davila keep raising the stakes on our rescue party. The Brood are depicted as something more than just mindless eating machines, but a hive society, like they were originally depicted in Claremonts now classic Brood Saga, and its something I didnt realize I needed until now. Davilas take on the Brood was the perfect take for this arc. I cant wait to see how Thompson and Duggan finish this arc.

Steve Orlando and Sara Pichelli kick off the Scarlet Witchs new book, and its beautiful. Sara out does herself here, giving Wanda and her world this old world flair, something youd see in a movie, like the Never-ending Story, or Harry Potters Diagon Alley, while Matthew Wilsons colors pop. I especially like that he renders Wanda and Pietro with a darker hue, paying tribute to their Romani heritage. While the storys villains are rather unremarkable, Orlandos new role for Wanda in the Marvel Universe could create a rather unique niche that weve never had before.

Claremont and Larroca continue with their wild ride with the X-Treme X-Men team running roughshod with some new faces, as well as the anti-mutant hate group, Purity, continues to demonstrate close to the Belles of Hell Bar. The comic reads like its 2004, and Im really enjoying it. Theres a couple missteps, but this feels like a return of classic Claremont.

MacKay, Land, Zircher, and Larroca deliver a tale through the ages, as Kang comes face to face with a new threat, or is it? We get lots of clues dropped as to who this is, and Ive got my own thoughts, but thats not what matters. Its the hints that are dropped that are the things we should pay attention to, as well as that last panel. Either way, there seems to be a lot of fun stuff coming our way next year.

Jed comes back to the world of Black Cat & MJ Watson, as they find themselves hip deep in trouble as the effects of DarkWeb continues to spread throughout New York City like a virus, and its fricking hilarious. This time he brought Vincenzo Carrat along for the ride, and the duo just his triple 7s across the board.

Duggan gives us a rather pedestrian tale about Firestar, that doesnt really add or detract anything from who she is, but it seems totemper her resolve. Is it her role as a mutant? As an X-Man? As a superhero? I dont know, and at this point Im not sure if Duggan knows about it as well.

After the explosive finale of the Cantwell run, Tonys still down on his luck, now staying in a bit of a dive, as he tries to rebuild his life from financial ruin. Someones out to get him, but with no proof, who could be pulling his strings? Is it someone we know, or someone completely new? Lots of questions, and some great art gave this book a boost. Hopefully these two can capture a Tony we havent seen in awhile: the fun version.

Rosenberg and Segovia are back with the crew, and not only do they have to deal with being in Green Arrows home turf, but also the Court of Owls, and their Talons. Not exactly sure what the actual mission statement is, but my nostalgic kid insists on me following through. Rosenbergs still developing the crew, and not everyones voice is as distinct as they should be, but Segovias knocking it out of the park.

Thompson continues on her winning streak with Carol and her world, giving us a tale that takes us to the furthest reaches of space, and up against one of the most terrifying alien races in the Marvel universe. I hope the ending is as polished as this issue was.

The team supreme is back! Chris Claremont, the writer that created the biggest franchise in comic history, returns to his critically acclaimed title, X-Treme X-Men with series co-creator Salvador Larroca, to blast off with an untold tale that takes place immediately after series finale #64 from 2003. The team gives us a gripping tale swirling around Kitty Pryde, and the psychic vampire, Ogun, who has been secretly imbedded in Kittys soul since their first encounter. Can they save her from him, and his clutches?

Its a brand new day for the Justice Society, and with the coming of a new JSA, the teams embroiled in a plot to kill the hosts of Fate with every new iteration. Johns, and a host of JSA artists are setting the stage for a brand new team. Can they live up to the previous iterations? Only time will tell.

Its the second part of Ram Vs opening arc on Detective Comics, and it doesnt look like hes planning on slowing down anytime soon. Hes bringing in some fresh faces to Gotham, and looks like hes got some macabre plans for Batman, and the rest of the dark underbelly of the city. I hope to be as in love with his take here as I was during his run on Catwoman and JLD.

Its the first full mission for the newly elected team, and first up was to save Darwin from the Vault, but what we ended up with was something completely different. The story didnt hit quite how I expected it too, but there were moments that I needed from the characters here.

Lanzing and Kelly team up with Kev Walker as they build up to the big Cold War story thats going to impact Steve, Sam, and Bucky, and put their relationships to the test? Can they survive it?

Stargirls back in her own book, or rather her own teen team thats in the development stage, that looks to be filled with teen sidekicks of Golden Age, as well as their younger legacy characters here, building around a mystery that goes 80 years back. Court and Emiko are fun, and Johns handles the family chemistry well here. As a continuity buff, its always a treat reading stories by Johns, Waid, or Busiek, who really know their stuff. Add in Naucks penchant for drawing young characters young. If this team can make this mystery something to draw readers in, this could be a big hit for DC.

As Gillen and Villanova end their time on the Eternals, and while this is the end, it feels like hes leaving the door open for more to be done with this civilization hes cultivated for the last two years. As I say goodbye, Im a little sad for today, but anythings possible tomorrow.

After a year and a half of waiting, were finally getting theofficial return of the Justice Society, with Geoff Johns returning to the characters that made him a superstar. Was he able to recapture that same magic he did 20 years ago? Its hard to say. At this point its got some real potential, but Johns output in the Rebirth era has been hit or miss. Its a middling start, but Im willing to give it a shot.

Thirty years after the meteoric rise to the peak of comic stardom comes this all new series breathing life into this cast of characters that have been unfortunately shelved for the majority of the last decade. DC seems committed to making them work, especially since Jim Lee, the WildCats creator, is the current DC publisher. Rosenbergs first issue has given us a taste of what to expect, but theres something lacking here that just made it feel left behind, or an afterthought.

Three years in, and Kelly doesnt seem like shes ready to slow down. This run is often touted as the longest running Capt. Marvel run of the Carol era, and its easy to see why. Kellys dry humor, and deadpan delivery has really struck a cord with Carols very dedicated fandom, and having Sergio back for a second round is just using on the cake. Give. Me. More.

Solid event, came in like a lion, with some nice character development, with some stunning art, but the finished with a whimper. Unfortunately the team couldnt stick the landing. Fortunately Gillen built a solid foundation, leaving loads of stories to be mined from his work here.

As Forge and Caliban as a talking pullover sweater dives deeper and deeper into the Vault trying to save Darwin, we get another look at Krakoas new public team. Still finding the cohesion of this team to be a tad lacking thus far. Rather unremarkable character work, with middling art that just doesnt mesh with the writing style, it might be a rather forgettable arc in the Krakoan era.

While the titles living up to its name, its proving to be a hindrance than an asset. The one issue, one mission plot is a bit of a rarity in todays comics, nothing here seems to work for me. Theres very little character development, and the subplot does run the risk of being a tad boring, and uninspired. Landy runs hot and cold for me, so Im remainingcautiously optimistic for the remaining arc.

With a story mixing elements from films, other comics, and literature, we get to see a dystopian future that bleeds these themes and situations, giving us a beautiful, effervescent world about a man whos not sure what else he has to offer, now that hes no longer king. Its been too long since weve had a writer scratch whats under Namors surface, and give us something else than an arrogant monarch, ready to fight to the death to anyone who crossed his path. I only wish this was set in the current era to give Namor some much needed pathos.

In the final issue giving us how our heroes have been judged, we get an in-depth look at Ajak, and how her faith leads to an almost fanatic approach. Will this end well? Or have her actions made her cross a line her god cant abide?

Its the last day before the end of the world, and the Eternals, mutants and Avengers are doing everything that they possibly can to save the earths and themselves. Is it enough?

Thompson continues to show why shes become one of the most prolific, and popular female writers currently doing work for the big two. Using her patented humor, she continues to write one of the most fun takes on Captain Marvel since the Peter David run featuring Genis and Rick Jones. Two thumbs way up.

While the notion of a clandestine group isnt a novel idea, its Lanzing and Kellys character work that shines brightest here. Steves not descending into a depressed state with the knowledge that he might be a cog in a bigger, nefarious plot, hes rolling with the punches, and dusting himself off. Mix that with Carneros art, and youve got a killer creative team.

Kieron Gillen and Michele Di Nicuolo give us a character study on Starfox, Earths current Prime Eternal, and what hes doing to save the rest of humanity, as he, the Avengers, and Eternals from the destruction that the Mad Celestial has decreed. Mixed with a staccato like style, thats slick, and moves. What Gillens doing here has been the most character development Ive seen for Starfox since his run on Roger Sterns Avengers from the early 80s. Some good stuff here.

This could be quite possibly the most important story thats dealing with a characters judgment in the face of this resurrected Celestial, simply because not many characters have been close to doing some of the things in which Jean has done. Can Jeans accomplishments make up for her atrocities? Has Jean fully forgiven herself for the mistakes, and missteps shes done? Thats what has me interested in the rest of her adventure.

As Genis awkwardly stumbles through the story of his resurrection, while those he cares about most are doing everything they can to fix Ricks and Geniss molecular problem. Pluswhats going on with Marlo? What does she have to do with Death? And what is Deaths end goal here? Just more questions that hopefully gets neatly wrapped up over the next two issues.

Its the first story in a series of one shots where we get an in-depth look at the Tony Stark, and his judgment at the hands of the new-born Celestial. We get to see some of the most formative decisions and mistakes Tonys had through the last 60 plus years, does he make the cut? Honestly, its something that weve seen Tony face these things over, and over, so at this point this issue could have been used on another Avenger, and felt less wasted. This event needs to bring something big soon, otherwise it runs the chance of being utterly forgettable.

Its a bumpy start for the new team, with a rather lackluster handling of the adversaries, and schlocky dialogue for the regular cast. Giving Duggan the benefit of the doubt, but hes got an uphill battle ahead of him.

Meanwhile Si Spurriers giving us a Gordon who looks to be in over his head. How will this affect him, and his place in Gotham, now that hes no longer commissioner? What will Bullocks role be, now that he and Gordon are private investigators? The potential is near limitless. On top of that, were getting covers from Evan Cagle that just oozes Edgar Allen Poe, theyre practically poetic.

With a little bit of this, and a little bit of that, and a new member of the Carol Corps. The two Aarons are creating a whole host of new universes, and adding a lot of fun to the stew. Jason Aaron seems to work best when his work isnt going up against previously established continuity, meanwhile Aaron Kuders dishing out a lot of great new designs for some familiar faces.

The movement being made feels unconnected from the main story, because the events are being told in the side minis, and tie-ins from the ongoings attached to the event. This, mixed with the character beats that just arent hitting like theyre supposed to makes this issue drag in parts. Hopefully Gillen pulls it together at the end. Id hate to see this story Ive been totally engrossed in for the last year and a half fall flat on its face.

With only two issues left Cantwells pulling out all of the stops, bringing in loads of old Iron Man rogues, putting a new coat of paint, but whos pulling the strings here? Is [redacted] really in charge of Source Control? Or is it something far more dark and menacing? Cantwells really channeling his inner Cold War era Tony stories, and its just a lot more fun because of it.

With a story that feels like its a let down due to the important pieces being told elsewhere, the team still pulls it together when it comes to elevating a character that doesnt seem to hold the same weight in regards to other Eternals. What theyll do, and where theyll take these characters will hopefully leave a positive impact on the greater Marvel universe.

Carols life has been a series of unfortunate events since her first days as Captain Marvel, and this arc continues that trend. Carol is finally being forced to deal with the cost of her actions, after having stripped Ove of his magical prowess, thanks to the Enchantresss lack of understanding whats just at risk. Will it pay off? How will Enchantress deal with her future adult son from a possibly different universe? Not sure, but Im sure the journey will be entertaining at the very least.

As the war continues, and the judgment of all those who would be judged, Gillen continues to mine the depths of what it means to be a Deviant in the Marvel Universe, and how they can be better integrated into the greater Marvel universe. Hopefully after this is all over, these characters will have a larger role than being a footnote into the obscure of the greater Marvel cosmology.

While the issue delivers on the promise of being action from the jump, it lacks the necessary components to be a cohesive story to pull everything together. The dialogue is light, but seems uneven, as Landy seems unsure of the cast, and their characterizations. We have a couple of stellar nuggets, but theyre few and far between. Lands art here is serviceable, but nothing to write home about. An uneven start to the Earths mightiest.

An underwhelming end to a lackluster story, with a few interesting character beats, unfortunately the didnt land as well as they should have. At this time Im ready for a new voice and direction from the creators, but Ill remain tentatively optimistic.

In the event tie in thats not an event tie in, we finally get some much needed character development for Iceman, and Duggan and Villa gave us a little ditty that let Iceman come out to the world, and gave us an example of how real world members of the LGBTQ+ are often viewed, or felt like we need to edit ourselves to make things more palatable for the straight folk. Depending on how Duggan handles this, it could be a cheer or a jeer.

Peter Davids return to a fan favorite character thats become synonymous with his name continues on this soul searching quest to find out why hes back in the land of the living, and its peppered with Davids patented humor and quippy filled dialogue. Its a very Peter David comic in all of the best ways possible. Meanwhile we have Juanan Ramirez over here putting in the work showing us that hes primed for the big time.

Theres a lot of plates, and a lot of characters that are incredibly busy, so its easy to get lost, but even with everything going on, I do know this: Gillen excels at character development, and the growth were seeing here with the parties involved just goes to show that with the right creators, you can build a franchise that speaks to any type of fan out there. Im sad to see Gillens arc with the Eternals ending after this, but hopefully this isnt the last we see of them.

The story of the dark and macabre that these creators are giving us dives deep into the horror and gothic storytelling, while remaining within the confines of the a crime-noir themed storyline steeped in growing the mythology that is Gotham City. Theres a depth here that looks to bring us to a Gotham that many creators attempt to create, by making the city as much of an integral member of the cast as the characters involved. If the crew lands the ending, this could be one of those classics that are mentioned alongside with Steve Englehart and Marshall Rogers' seminal run.

The first issue to the new era, with a new team, and its off to a decent start. The dialogues kinda clunky, but Villas art is great here. The new team is pretty much nondescript at this point, so Im excited to see what Duggan will give us as time moves on.

Gillen gives us more meat for the rest of the main story, and gives us the whereabouts of the missing Eternals who are running a black ops mission to undermine Druigs war against the excessive deviation! I mean mutants, and Villanovas giving us the grit this war needs with his exaggerated style. Plus his Kro is the best Kro Ive seen since the relaunch.

Kieron Gillen and Valerio Schiti are giving us a popcorn big blockbuster with this mini, but theres a little hiccups that detract from the rest of the story. It kinda feels like Marvel should have tapped Al Ewing to co-plot this event. Even with these critiques, its still nice to see the Eternals elevated status in the Marvel Universe.

After a rocky, and long opening arc, Cantwell and Unzueta seem to be getting their bearings on Tony, and what makes him tick. Its a shame to see it coming to a close over the course of the next three issues, but it looks like hes going out with a bang.

PAD and Ramirez are diving in head first in Genis big welcome back Cotter story, and its high on continuity and his patented humor. Lots of exposition to bring us up to speed, but the heavy reliance of his past continuity is only a bane for new readers. Still a lot of fun though.

Ram V and Rafael Albuquerque have just unleashed a mystery on Gotham and Batman that looks to unleash a tale of horror and macabre that were just not used to seeing in our regular Batman line of comics. A darkness is about to fall on Bruce, and this team is going to give us one hell of a ride, so buckle up.

Were entering the final lap in this four-year-long story, and while I have some issues with the story Tinis telling, Im not going to take the shine from Rachels coming out. To Rachel, and her queer fans, we finally got it!

Gillens setting up so many chess pieces here, and creating a threat in not only Druig, but Uranos, that could become a constant threat in the heroes lives, not just the Eternals. Hes also cementing just how important the Eternals are to the Earth, and to the rest of the Marvel universe. Will the Eternals and mutants become constant enemies? I hope not. The heroes vs. heroes thing has been done to death. Luckily I have faith in Gillen to give us something deeper than that.

Tini Howard continues to re-establish Selinas role in the Gotham underworld hierarchy, and her place in the Batfamily. We get some fun interactions with the rest of the Batfamily members, and Velmont continues to grow on me. Im really enjoying how closely Tinis going with the continuity of the other Batbooks, which has been a real treat.

With Carol and Binary two separate entities, its getting messier for Carol, and its not like shes had the mostcopacetic life for a superhero. Kelly continues to deliver one of the best runs Carols had over the last 10 years, and shes joined by two amazing artists that have just elevated the quality on this arc. Its definitely a series that should be on everyones radar.

We close out the Wolverine/Deadpool team up on a pretty solid footing. Percy kept the manic ridiculousness that has become synonymous with Deadpool to tell a story about what Wades willing to do for those he cares for most. To say the story lacked comedy would be a lie, but there was a maturity here that we seldom see in a Deadpool comic.

Its the opening salvo, and Gillen and Ferry are on top of their games here, giving us an info dump in the best way possible. Its a setup, and the team are setting up the major players. Gillens characterization is on point, while Ferry has shown up, and shown out.

Man is the most dangerous game, and Poison Ivys made it her mission to change that. Will the people she meets along the way change her mind, or will she unleash a horror on the planet unlike anything its seen before?

With everything now said and done, Batman and Catwoman are given their happy ending that many comic characters are so often denied, especially members of the Batman family. King and Manns journey gave us a story that gave us a relationship between Selina and the Joker that were not used to, and it was a nice change of pace. This wasnt just some story to see how far Batman was willing to go to capture the Joker, and it made it just a little more richer because of that.

Jed MacKay reunites with Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat, and true to form, we get an issue full of laugh out loud hijinks. MacKays pitch perfect voice for Hardy really shines through, mixed with an energetic staccato pattern for the action scenes, makes it feel like its going 0 to 60 in mere seconds. Add in Iron Man and its a sure fire hit. If this mini is half as good as the ongoings, were in for a real treat.

Its a high fantasy story thats got high risks, but theres something missing from getting me fully invested. How the final act will affect not only these characters, but characters across the franchise could prove to be an interesting development, but at this point Im not sure I care. Hopefully the team can give us a final act that was as thrilling and engaging as the first issue of this mini.

Its been a long year, and the end of the Cordyceps Jones plot has finally come to an end, but the secrets surrounding Dr. Stasis, and ORCHIS are just heating up. Unfortunately this looks to be the last issue with the current lineup, filled with familiar faces that we really dont know anything about. Lack of characterization for most of the cast has been one of the most glaring issues weve had with this run, so lets hope this next chapter wont fall into the same rut this one had.

Cizkos taking his misogyny to the streets, and its all going sideways for Diana. Watch as we see what Cizkos been planning for the last year. Meanwhile the rest of Villainy Inc. are out there making it hell for the Wondy crew. Can they stop it before their whole world topples over?

The finale between Thanos vs. the Eternals vs. the Avengers, and the blocks have been laid to lead into the upcoming summer event thats going to rock the Marvel firmamentuntil the fall event arrives. Gillen & Ribic has done an excellent job world building these oft-neglected Kirby characters, so theres a lot of hope that well see more of them once AXE is finished.

Another fun issue, but the fun seems to be wearing thin with the lack of movement of the plot is starting to make the book drag. The lack of development on much of the cast is also becoming an issue. Eleven issues in, and we barely know many of them, and how they feel being the public face for the X-Men.

With an end to the trial, we begin this new chapter of Dianas life, and CloonRad are hell bent on making this next turn in Dianas life as exciting as possible. Whether that be with Siggy, and Steve, or the villains, both old and new, that theyre bringing us, I cant wait to see what else theyre going to come up with.

Stern & Golden give us a stellar one & done story that explores Stranges emotional state, where he is forced to confront how he feels regarding Cleas departure to her home dimension. Goldens art is as crisp today as it was then, with inks by Bronze Age powerhouse, Terry Austin, and colors by Glynis Wein, two names who were almost synonymous with Marvel in the early 80s. This issue is a must by for any Strange fan.

Howard and Quinn are off to a strong start to this new era of the magical mutants, but there are some hiccups here too. Im looking forward to seeing more of this brave new world weve landed in, and the residents within. The cast is rather large, so there are concerns regarding background filler, but its the first issue so only time will tell.

A rather lackluster ending to Yaras solo adventures, which is unfortunate because Jones & Melos artistry is really breathtaking here. Theres not a lot wrong to find with the book, other than its just boring. It didnt help that DC shot itself in the foot spoiling the murderer. If Jones gets another shot with Yara, I hope she gets a co-writer to help smooth out some of her kinks.

Now that the Lives/Deaths minis are over, it finally feels like the team is beginning to gear up to headline the next era for the team. Especially once we get the new roster during the Hellfire Gala thats coming. Its sad that this teams already about to change, but Im excited at the prospects of what theyll do with the new team once its established.

The champions have been chosen, and the trial is about to begin, but theres outside forces that arent willing to let the Amazons new champion be chosen. Who is this mysterious force thats behind the attack on the champions? Who unleashed the monsters who have been slowly seeping out of Dooms Doorway? What will this mean for the Themyscirans, Bana Mighdallians, and Esquecidans? Well just have to wait and find out.

Its just the beginning of Cleas tenure as the new Sorcerer Supreme, and shes already had a run in with Dr. Doom, and met Deaths own Sorcerer Supreme, who brought along a revenant of Thunderstrike. Jeds definitely got a lot in store here, and I cant wait to see what he does with these pieces set in motion.

Theres a promise of a new chapter for the mutant CIA, but the claim seems to be hyperbole, as were not presented with anything that feels new or groundbreaking. Arts serviceable, but the style just doesnt match with the tone of the story.

Carol and the Spacejammers could only mean pure awesome. Don't miss this one!

Kieron Gillen continues world building the Eternals world, by giving these rarely mentioned characters a face, and a personality, and giving them a chance to be used further down the road. Unfortunately the book doesnt add anything substantial to the overall plot of the main book. Ryan Bodenheims art here is transcendent and its so sad that hell never be able to blossom into the superstar he could have been.

In her grief, Diana wishes to use her lasso of truth to figure out who her mothers killer is, but is checked back to reality by Nubia, whos objectivity regarding to the situation really highlights how amazing of a character she is. Im so glad DC has finally given us a team of writers and artists (shout out to the ENTIRE Wonder family of titles) who can see the potential that we fans have seen for decades. Not only this, but whats going on with Dooms Doorway? Who wants to break on through to the other side? So many questions that will nag you until the next chapter. This storyline has filled me with excitement, not only for how the Trial plays out, but where we go from here! Its definitely a great time to be a Wonder fan.

The team assembled have come out with all guns a blazing, and while not heavy with the action is setting up for one heck of a story. Much like DCs other multi-title event going on (War for Earth 3get it if youre not already getting it!), Trial looks to craft a tale that should rock the boat for the Wonder crew for the foreseeable future, which depending on the finale, could provide us with fallout that could create stories for generations to come.

Cons: its just too slow. Rowells great at the character beats, and Antnios art is sublime, but nothing memorable really happened. It was kinda disappointing after that amazing first issue.

A fun start to this new era of magic, filled with Jeds signature wit and humor, aided by Marcelos knack eye for dramatic entrances, and action scenes. Every player seems to have a fleshed out profile for Jed to use in upcoming stories. Theres a story brewing thats going to involve Dr. Doom, which definitely has my interest piqued, since he first stepped on Wandas toes during the Darkhold event, and now on Cleas. I have high hopes Jeds gonna knock it out of the park with this one.

An issue focused on Destiny, which suits me just fine. Duggans got a real handle on the character, and she likes to provide the hilarious commentary in regards to her opinion on Rogue and Gambits relationship. Meanwhile ORCHIS continues to move at a snails pace on what exactly their plans are. I know slow and steady wins the race, but it feels like were going in reverse.

Mr. Toad had less exciting, and wild rides than what weve had over the last year with Thompsons Suicide Squad, and this looks like its going to just get weirder. Wallers tipping her hand, and shes going to show us just why the acronym of HBIC was created.

A killer idea to involve the rest of the Marvel family in Carols book to help solidify her connection to the mantle, and those whove borne the name over the years. Unfortunately for us, and Kelly, the cast seemed to be too crowded to really get any real development or character progression to help form the ties that could bind these characters together. Which is a disservice to Kelly, and her run on this book, as character development has become one of the biggest strengths this volume has going for it.

Another issue where not a lot happens, but we do get a nice little story involving MODOK & AIM, two factions of Marvel universe we dont see interacting with the X-Men. We also get to see Everetts motivation for joining the team, and that was very disappointing. Hopefully theres more to come with Synch, because the character and the fans deserves more than that.

Giving Hunter Moon an issue to develop while Moon Knights occupied with one of the monthly Marvel events, was a nice treat. Giving MacKay the chance to scrape below what weve seen, and make him a more well rounded and complex character. It also adds potential for future conflict with the two fists of Khonshu, and the difference in how they serve him as his avatars on the earthly realm.

Jason Aarons run on the Avengers has been a roller coaster of peaks and valleys in regards of quality, but has hit his groove with this and the last, where She-Hulk regained her regular Shulkieness. I hope he continues on this hot streak.

Fast, and frenetic pace, Kelly relies too heavily on the fact that you read Non-Stop Spider-Man before it was cancelled to understand why Peters mutated, why Zemos there, and what the creepy kids are doing back home. Sandoval puts in the work here, and its fun to see how much hes progressed from the beginning of his career to where he is now.

A tie-in that doesnt feel like a tie-in, against Veranke, the one being in the universe who has hurt Jess harder than almost anyone else has, Karla, Pere, and the rest of the gang continues to put out one of the funniest books on the market. Jess has become the proverbial schlep for the Marvel Universe, and theyre using it to great comedic affect.

The mystery is solved, and while the ending sorta missed its mark, I have the utmost faith in MacKay to deliver with the upcoming series based around Clea. So much potential to explore, I just hope to see Jed show that not only is Clea not Stephen, but shes also not human. Sure, shes humanoid, but her entire existence was in a dimension where darkness and evil magic was the status quo, so Clea will provide a totally unique perspective for our dimensional firmament.

Doctor Stasis finally makes his first move against mutantkind, and its the assassination of the face of the X-Men, Cyclops. Combine that with Pepe Larrazs return makes this book look just absolutely gorgeous. The scents from the last issue and this issue almost feels like their releases should have been switched, but maybe theres a reason Duggans going about the introduction to Captain Krakoa non linearly, and I just havent figured it out yet. Hopefully Doc Stasis & Capt. Krakoa gamble pays off big.

Its the final showdown at the beginning of the universe, and somehow Eternity is the least impressive player in the room. Al Ewing and Javier Rodriguez have made the Defenders return to the comic page one of the most impressive and gorgeous books on stands. The Defenders are on their way back this summer, so if you havent picked this project up yet, now is the time to.

Vita and Skyler continues world building while setting the stage for the big storyline thats going to have a huge impact not only in Dianas world, but the greater DC Universe as well.

She-Hulks back in her very own ongoing, and so far its off to a very good start. Rainbow Rowell doesnt shy away from using past continuity to enrich the story, but you its not necessary for you to have read those books to understand whats going on. Rowell has a nice sense of timing with this issue, and doesnt shy away from delivering the humor bits. Toss in the absolutely kitschy art from Antnio, and this book could be the book to watch.

Sure were in a crossover tie-in issue, but Karla, Pere, and Frank keep on with the level of high quality that weve become accustomed to. Theres a bit of a surprise in this issue, and if youre like me, who dont read the solicits, then its a pretty good shock. Its been a pretty long while since Jess has had to deal with this thorn, so I cant wait to see where we go from here.

A magical event that was rather uneventful, despite the excellent work put out by Steve Orlando and Cian Tormey, left me wanting more. I hope this isnt the end of the road for Wanda and Orlando, because he really has a nice grasp on who she is, when shes not being portrayed as a plot device for the growth of other characters.

This issue throws a couple curveballs at the fans, and leaves you with the nagging feeling of whats going on? How did we get here? I have a feeling its going to lead to something big, especially after the revelations we were given over the last couple issues regarding onesbehavior. Does this all connect together, or am I wrong and its something completely different? Its been a slow start for the new flagship X-Men book, but with recent events ending in other titles, and as we prepare for the next phase of the Krakoan experiment, are we gearing up for some big things? I hope so.

MacKay and Garbett continue with the mystery of who killed the good doctor, and while there are some things that have been underwhelming, the humor and art has made up for the shortcomings, so Im eagerly awaiting the ending as well as Cleas upcoming series.

I hope to see more of the cast that was woefully under utilized, such as Random, along with Voght, Risqu, and Frenzy with whatever book they find themselves in the coming year. Also I really hope to see more of Cortez. He was the surprise star from the earlier issues, and his absence has been felt. Ewing has loads of material to weave into gold from all of the dangling subplots that we didnt get to see come to fruition, along with the new status that comes from this ending. If Ewings next book is half as good as SWORD, what comes next should make for one heck of a show.

Racing from reality to reality, Doc Strange, and this motleyist of crews, run the entire gamut of possibilities to discover some things will always remain constant. Will they save this current dimension of creation? Or will they wreck everything weve become accustomed to?

The Eternals are under new management, but what does this mean for our titular heroes, and those theyve joined to learn to change their primary programming? Will the new characters added by Gillen and Ribic catch hold with older and newer fans? Only time will tell. Hopefully theyll all live long enough to see.

Were only two issues into the second arc from the CloonRad team, and weve already introduced to a new threat for Wonder Woman, development on the Dr. Cizko subplot, more fun with Diana & Boston, plus further development for the Bana Migdhall tribes from Vita Ayala as we head closer to the upcoming 2022 Wonder Woman event. This book just seems to get better with every new issue.

Its a sad day for me after being given a Black Cat solo over the last two years, that had some of the best writing and art in a Marvel solo for a character thats not very well known to the non-comic buying community. Its this status for Cat that allowed Mackay to do some wild and crazy situations that weve become accustomed to. Hopefully itll sell well in trades, and Jed will pick up some of his dangling plot threads in his Amazing Spider-Man and Moon Knight titles.

This run is being hailed as the longest Captain Marvel (Carols tenure as Captain), and theres a reason for that. Under Kelly Thompsons tenure, Carol is powerful, inspiring, yet not infallible. Carols found a new trick with her powers that could be very interesting to see what Kellys got in store. There are some slight disappointments with this issue, but thats only because expectations are high. I cant wait to see how this team finishes this story.

The wait for this book is finally over, and the final product is a lush, chaotic, staggering, and horrifying at the same time. Kelly Sues vision for the gods are very loyal to their mythological counterparts, combined with Phil Jimenezs art, its a book I couldnt stop looking at. I immersed myself into this world fully, and each page was more impressive than the last. If youre a fan of Wonder Woman, Greek mythology, or new to comics, be prepared to be dazzled.

Its crunch time, and Ewing is letting the dominos begin to tumble. The mole has been exposed, and hes systematically bringing down everything Brand and Krakoa have built to solidify their status on the galactic stage. Ewing continues to excel with his world building in the Krakoa era, but will he have time to give us an ending this series deserves?

The Eternals' world has changed forever, and Gillen and Ribic are here to shake up everything they can. This book continues to delve deep into the Eternals world, and how they factor into it, but theres still some issues regarding pace, and the delays continue to prove detrimental to the momentum of this story. While Ive been over saturated on stories involving Thanos, Gillen use of him sparingly has been a bonus.

Just in time for Halloween, Marvel drops a spooky tale in a world with no mutants, and vampires are running things. Its a fun, yet dark issue that plays with the vampire trope in a superhero setting, giving us a glimpse of something familiar, yet also very different from everything else. This story doesnt really relate to the main story about the Darkhold, ChThon, Doom, or the Scarlet Witch, so the inclusion in this is kinda eh. It seems like it could tie into the broader Vampire nation story thats been playing out in various titles across the Marvel Universe.

Karla hasnt let her foot off of the pedal, and Im not sure where shes going next, and Im actually very fine with that. Mix in some of the best art from the Big Two. Theres no guessing where were going next, and thats alright.

With equal parts kitsch, sass, and a whole lot ofexquisite art, Cliff Chiang has decided to throw his hat in, and give us one of the most interesting looks at Gotham City. His style of Neo-classicism really lends to the strength of his storytelling abilities. High art mixed with the flair of the noir, Selinas world is magical here, and looks like it stepped right out of a 60s Pop Art Deco exhibit. Hopefully the rest of this mini is as enjoyable as this one was.

Magic? Check. A whos who of Marvels mystical characters? Check. Quips that mostly land? Check. So with a second issue in, MacKay and Garbett have made the deal of Doctor Stranges death a fun ride to go along to.

V has been an absolute treasure for Selina and Alleytown, so I hope that with all of the puzzle pieces Ram and his artistic companions have given us over the last 12 issues lands. This has all the markings of those rare character defining arcs that a character like Catwoman deserves.

After sacrificing herself to save everything (because thats what heroes do), its the end of the months long adventure in various Multiversal afterlives for Wonder Woman, and the team lets Diana reconnect with some very important pieces of her life. Cloonan and Conrad continue to show why they understand Diana; shes an inspiration for the whole world. Much like Superman, Wonder Woman is the epitome of the very best of us.

Ajak and Makkari come face to face after having their reason for existence blowing up in their faces after learning about their actual origins. Are they able to reconcile with this shattering blow? Only the future will tell. Ajak finally gets some much needed character growth in this issue, and hopefully well see the further development down the road.

Its the Last of the Marvels, and Kelly and Sergio are just starting to heat things up. Kelly continues to up the ante for Carol with each new storyline, and develops Carols importance to the Marvel character firmament. If given the chance, Kelly could become the definitive voice for the good Captain Marvel.

Ewing and Rodriguez continue to flourish with this offbeat tale, with a story that could become one of those definitive arcs that help showcase how good a great comic can be. Im hard pressed to find anything less than perfection when describing this book. This team has crafted a story all the earmarks to become a classic in the making.

Great character moments who are full of personality and humor, globe trodding adventures, mixed with energetic and dynamic art has been a cornerstone of this entire 22 issue run, thanks to Jed MacKay and the talented artists hes been paired with. MacKay and company took an ancillary character into a complex and fun leading star. Wherever Marvel goes from here with the Cat and her cast hopefully will be as entertaining as weve become accustomed to over the last two and a half years.

The Scarlet Witch and Doctor Doom are coming face to face with one of the oldest gods in the Marvel firmament, and it looks like if they dont act fast enough therell be hell to pay. Orlandos got a decent handle on the characters voices, and Tormey is really strutting his stuff here. There are a few issues with how Wandas handled, but nothing that detracted from my enjoyment I have high hopes for this event thats been pushed back nearly a year and a half, thanks to Covid. I hope once this is over well see this team on something high profile.

The Doctor is out. Jed MacKay and Lee Garbett are here to provide Doctor Strange his final hurrah. The story is on the lighter side, rather than morose, as Id expect it to be. The art is quite enjoyable, even though the more mystical and magical moments were a bit of a let down. Theres a few surprises, and Im sure theres more to come.

Keiron Gillen continues to weave the tapestry of the Eternals, and explores their past, and the event that caused them their greatest misstep of all: the birth of Thanos. Eternals werent born to breed life of their own, and Mentors hubris comes back to bite him, and the entire universe, in the behind. Gillen continues to excel at the development of this quite alien world, and Dustin Weavers rendition is an exquisite addition to their mythology. Unfortunately the pace proves to be a detriment to the overall issue.

The final chapter of Cloonan, Conrad, and Moores epic Homeric odyssey through the multiverse, while providing a meta commentary on comic fandom, and the devotion for continuity through the use of the characters introduced in this arc. The dichotomy of Januss two sides, and the absolutes that both represent, are tempered when theyre together. Its a novel approach to comics as they try to ensure the relevance of the characters, and the cultural impact theyve given us through the decades of publication.

Ewing and Rodriguez give us equal parts weirdness, mixed with confusion, and a hodgepodge of characters that seem better off as loners. In other words, they nailed the Defenders. Going with the tried and trusted Marvel method that Stan and Jack perfected, this teams captured lightning in a bottle, and is giving us that old school Marvel magic that you can only find in the back issues.

Yang and Ruan continue re-introducing Shang Chi to the rest of the Marvel Universe, as he continues to try to reform the Five Deadly Weapons into a force for good. Yang mixes the comedy with the action, and the witty banter between Shang and his siblings will make you want some more.

It looks to be Kelly Thompsons biggest arc yet with the good Captain, and shes off to a good start. Theres plenty of action and character work in the issue, which is something that you can always expect in a KT book. Its just the beginning, but I cant wait to see all of the Marvels together, (including Genis!!!!!) as its something I cant remember if its ever happened in the decades weve had more than just Mar-Vell and Monica.

Kellys second arc finishes up with this issue, and shes added more people to Natashas supporting cast, and theyre looking to add some interesting layers for the titular heroine. Thompson has made Yelena an integral part of this book, and it feels so much better with her. The friendship feels natural, and Yelena evokes a different side of Natasha than their American allies, which opens up new paths to explore.

Political intrigue, a mission behind the Iron Curtain for two ex-patriot Soviet super soldiers, who comes face to face with their former teammates. Cady and Bazaldua gives you all the makings of a classic Marvel tale about some classic Avengers foes who deserve their time to shine. So Spasiba, moya lyubov!

Thanks to Becky Cloonan & Michael W. Conrad, were experiencing the most fun Wonder Woman adventure weve had in years. This odyssey that theyre taking us on is giving us magic, science-fiction, drama, humor, romance, and mystery, and theyre doing it in style. Not afraid to take Diana, or her fans, out of our comfort zones with regards to more traditional Wonder Woman stories, they continue to beat to their own drum, and its working. Wonder Woman fans might be witnessing a modern classic in the making.

Madonna said it Star light, Star bright, first star I see tonight. Jed and Villa have given it their all with this arc, and they plan to go out with the biggest band for your $3.99 can handle. The art is great, Felicia and the gangs banter and patois keeps the mood light and whimsical, which is a very big plus in my book.

Breakneck speeds as we twist, turn, and kick some serious arse. Karlas keeping Jessica as busy as possible, and puts her in some seriously fun situations. Unfortunately shes not giving us the time to know who Karlas Jessica is. Shes brash, abrasive, and balls to the wall, but Id like to know how she feels about her friends.

Ram V and Fernando Blanco are are setting the stage for Selinas entry into the upcoming Bat crossover, while continuing to build on his Catwoman/Valley/insidious wealthy white men who are pulling the strings arc. This series continues to show why Ram V is a master of his craft, and paired with Blanco is a match made in comic book heaven. These two should be on your radar.

Ewing continues to show why hes the consummate master of his craft here, as he flawlessly builds upon storylines hes been cultivating for almost a decade. The disparate parts fit together perfectly creating a perfect synthesis between classic and new. Ewing continues to showcase his vast knowledge of Marvel history by referencing a story that took place before the creative team was even born, and does it flawlessly.Add in Javier Rodriguezs classical style, and you get a comic thats perfect from cover to cover.

Clooney and Conrad continue on this journey that looks to reshape Wonder Woman and bring her into the 21st century. Theyre using the multiverse to their advantage and giving birth to a new world for the rest of the DCU to explore. Hopefully other creators take this opportunity to follow suit. This is the most fun Ive had reading Wonder Woman in quite a long time.

There are so many ingredients involved in this storyline that it should have made this issue an absolute success, but the measurements were completely off. Not enough time given to She-Hulk, or the Avengers who arent Cap or Iron Man, or the Winter Guard who wasnt the Red Widow, and the development was disappointing. I understand Aarons trying to make every arc an event, but its been falling flat over the last few.

With a richness in character development and a deeper tone that is a novelty in modern superhero comics, Al Ewing and Joe Bennett have built a run around the big green Goliath that can be described as breathtaking, scary, emotional, and filled with gravitas. Each chapter has brought us further into the tortured psyche of a child that yearns to be set free. This run will be remembered as one of the all-time greats on a character that has been blessed with some of the most talented creators in the field.

With a quick wit, sleek art, and compelling characters, Kelly Thompson, Elena Casagrande, and Rafael De La Torre have made this book the one I look forward to reading most every time it comes out. Kellys got a real knack when it comes to creating a group of characters to care about. Natashas had several books over the years, but Kelly Elena, and Rafael have struck just the right elements that make this run one to look out for.

This book just continues to get better with every issue, and the same is true for this one. MacKay and Villa, with the help of Brian Reber and Ferran Delgado, infuse so much charisma and character into each panel, you cant help but appreciate the craftsmanship here. Theyve built a whole world up for a Spider-Man supporting cast member, in a way that Felicia can be completely independent of Spider-Man, in order to tell a well written, beautifully drawn story that isnt a detriment to the characters or the comic.

The only thing in this life thats eternal are the Eternals, but their immortality comes at a price. Is the price too much for them to bear? This new revelation will only bring new questions, with these questions the revelations from the different subsection of Eternals. What will Ikaris, Sersi, Thena and the rest do in order to change something that seems incapable of being changed?

Mariko follows up on the work that shes done with the Huntress on her Detective Comics run with this one shot, and comprises of all the best parts of her run on that book over here. Mixed with Laphams solid art, a compelling take on Helena, this issue is a real highlight in the bloated market that is the Batman family of titles.

We venture down another rabbit hole as we chase Cloonan and Conrads run through another dimension for our titular heroine and her companions, Siggy and Ratty, into the land of faerie. The creators are world building a lush, and diverse land for Wonder Woman to venture into, while still remaining true to her roots. The level of craftsmanship, love, and care these two bring is only elevated by the absolute mastery that is Jill Thompsons art. An issue worthy of a standing ovation.

Kelly keeps Carol rolling with the punches, and reminds me why I love Carol: she doesnt know everything, but always willing to do whatever it takes to save the people she loves. Even when it paints her in a bad light. Its the humanizing of Carol and her world that keeps me coming back for more.

Its this realism, and focus on developing character, along with filling every issue with so much plot that youre just overwhelmed by the world building going on. Partnered with Blancos art, and you cant help but get invested in this book. Catwoman is a title that I cant help but read first when I grab my pull list every month.

Karla and Pere pack as much bang for your buck you can get, and the peddle doesnt leave the floor this issue. We see some new faces, and the battle between Jess & Lady Bullseye is pure sugar fun. The lack of focus on Jessica, and her supporting cast can tend to get a bit old, but Karla brought back a fan favorite Spider-Woman cast member, so I can forgive her. The book itself is beautiful, and Pere just continues to get better with each and every issue.

Its a slow start to the end of an era. Nick Spencer spends the issue putting so many pieces into play into the upcoming Sinister War, that the chessboard is full on every square. Unfortunately theres too much set up here, and while we know that the odds are going to be huge, you dont get the sense of that from reading the issue. Hopefully Spencer can pull this off, because itd be a huge disappointment to see this impressive run end on a whimper.

Beautiful art, with an array of Amazons from all over the DC firmament, but its lacking any sense of excitement, anticipation, or world-building. The story needs to focus more on teaching us who Yara is, and considering this is the second issue and we dont know much more about her than we did in the first issue, which is disappointing.

After a rocky few arcs Jason Aaron seems to be back on track. His handling of the Winter Guard here shows that hes more comfortable with the standard superhero fare as opposed than topics that are more of a cosmic nature. Long simmering plots come to a head in this issue, as the countdown to fifty commences. Hopefully this team will be able to keep up this momentum.

The team supreme delivers another top notch book. Thompsons characterization and dialogue is fresh, and gives each of the cast members distinct personalities. Meanwhile Casagrande and De La Torre bring their A-game here, and gives us flawless characters, a liquid sense of movement when theres action, and each character is distinct from each other. I hope Marvel knows this golden nugget on their hands.

The most action packed issue to date, and we finally find out whos behind it all. Are they doing this by his own volition, or is the mastermind behind the plot being manipulated themselves? When will we finally meet some of the new Eternals created for this series? The answers revealed in this issue creates more questions. Pacing, and the delay between issues hurt this book, but not enough to lose interest in it.

Its only issue two but weve already been treated to a fight with Spider-Man, Captain America, agents of AIM, Hydra, and the Hand, plus a new addition to Marvels female villain pool, and subterfuge and intrigue. Genes adaptation of a figure from an old Chinese adventure book is pure magic. Gene and Dikes working relationship is giving me Claremont & Byrne levels of excellence, because each issue seems they push each other to do better than the last.

This story should be a stone grove winner for me. It has: the Chameleon, Chance, the Foreigner, a bevy of Jack O Lanterns and Chameleons, and Silver Sable, but Im afraid that the schedule got the best of Spencer, and bringing on Brisson came a little too late. The countdown to the end needs to land or else I fear Spencers run might fall flat.

Father Valley takes center stage in this annual, and Ram V delivers one of the most complex, and storied background in recent memory. This story takes you from the streets of Alleytown, and throws you back in time to Tangier, Morocco, and we see the steps that Valley had to take to make it where he is as one of Gothams newest assassins. Devotion, friendship, heartbreak, Ram and the team here give you such a wealth of material to read, youll be gasping for more.

This issue is full of so many things that I should love in a Spider-Man story, but the lack of clarity and cohesion with this issue drags it down. Theres one more chapter coming, so Im holding out hope that Spencer, Brisson, and the rest of the team will be able to give us that final punch to make this storyline a win for the fans.

Mark Gruenwald and Paul Neary journey to Americas heartland on the trail of some political extremists literally blazing a trail on college campuses, intimidating foreign students, while trying to paint Cap as the inspiration for the extremists. A story full of pathos that resonates as much today as it did then.

Were quickly approaching the Sinister War, and Spencer and the gang are chugging along. This issue is full of subplots featuring new faces, old faces, and possibly cloned faces? Spencer brings lot of energy with this book, and theres loads of potential for greatness. Hopefully the pay off will be worth the wait.

Diana remembers who she is, and lets the Asgardian pantheon know it in the final chapter of her adventures in Valhalla amongst the fallen soldiers. The cover is misleading, and the payoff to who was manipulating all of these events was rather uneven with the rest of the book, but I hope we get bigger things in the coming months from both the team, and characters involved in the arc.

The work Jed has put out on this book between Cat and the Fox really blooms to fruition in this issue. Theres a connection that is something Felicia needed in order to step out of the shadows and become more of her own character. Light on the fisticuffs, but heavy on the feels.

We get one of the most action packed comics on the stands, where we have Spider-Man and Norah Winters are trying to figure out who's killing these kids with this intelligence enhancing super drug, while on the run from a pair of luchadors. Its loads of fun, and high octane, but a little light on plot.

Black Widow by Thompson and Casagrande looks to be a book with absolutely amazing art, and a story where we can be treated to a deep introspection for the characters involved. Hopefully this run takes off with fans, because itd be a real shame to lose it just after finding its feet.

Lots of bang for your buck, cute characters, Rose, and some much needed fun development for Flatline, a character I rolled my eyes so hard, I almost fell over last issue.

There are few series that I think are flawless from the jump, but this is one. I believe in this first issue so much Ive ordered multiple copies that I plan on passing around at work. If the rest of this storyline is this good, Marvels got a stone groove winner on their hands.

Selinas troubles seem to just be getting started, as we see a new clandestine mastermind with his own vision of what Gotham should beespecially on the part Catwoman and her allies call home. Ram V and Fernando Blanco serve us with another chapter in the ongoing saga of Catwoman, Alleytown, and saving Ivy from the horrors shes had to endure. Its packed full of story, and continues to deliver every month.

Jones and Bellaire have a promising start for this up and coming Amazon. The art is beautiful, and Jones went all out for Yara. Time will tell if they have there wherewithal to capitalize on the potential. I have high hopes they can.

High stakes, impressive feats of character for the Black Cat, and a double crossing by a Val Kilmer Black Fox that will have you asking whats next!

Superman and Superman Jr. are racing to save the Thakkramites from the Shadowbreed, but are they too late? AlsoJon learns a new trick with one of his abilities! Pick it up to find out which one!

Adventure in Valhalla, and one step closer to finding out who she is, and where she truly belongs! Oh, and making a giant snake have a gnarly case of acid reflux that you just cant miss.

A promising start, with great art, and some much welcomed gravitas to the Huntress, this is a run that should be ping on your radar. Hopefully the team will be able to deliver.

The book is pedal to the metal almost from the jump, and the art and colors are kinetic, but it was the tender moments with Batman and the Bat family, and a brief interlude thats just a figment of the grandson of the demons (told you) imagination that were the biggest winners for me.

Kelly continues to kill it with Carol, and her world. Fun and funny moments with some talking snakes, and a veritable whos who of the magic community telling Carol byeeeeeeeee.

Ram and Blanco turn up the heat on the beginning of their run, forcing Selina to entrench herself into a new status quo thats sure to shake up Sels role in Gotham.

This book, while very decompressed and slow, is a beautiful comic dedicated to introducing some very obscure, yet rich with potential characters to the general buying public. Id suggest waiting for the first trade if you arent already familiar with these characters, but I wouldnt deprive myself of breathing in Gillens exquisite monthly tale, either.

The book is fun, and fast, with lots of action and beautiful art, but this aint your Dennis Hopeless Spider-Woman, as Jessica is here to rock out with her smock out. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys strong female lead books.

The new status quo has just begun, but we're already treated to a story that has Wonder Woman hero shaming Thor, meets a giant snake, an eagle, murk elves, with a demi-goddess omelet, and that's just in the main story, while we continue Diana's history lesson of the Amazons of Themyscira in this cute 10 page backup.

This book is an engaging teen drama with a mix of supernatural forces, with beautiful art, and a relatable protagonist thatll keep me around for at least the first arc.

This issue was filler, and doesnt move the story more than a few beats forward, but the art (and my OCD) has me firmly committed to this title. If I had to say anything its Jason Aaron really needs to stay away from the Phoenix. He doesnt seem to understand what it is on a fundamental level, and is using it to give the story some cosmic gravitas thats just missing the mark.

A comic full of emotional punches more than fisticuffs, it gives the reader a chance to peer into the lives of the superheroes through the eyes of a bystander that idolizes them.
