So great. I am so stoked over King Spawn #1! I thought all stories were good but the main story and Gunslinger really have my interest. Killer art as well. Can’t wait for more.

I absolutely love the emotional element here between Ben and Sara. The part where Ben sees the Rudolph calendar in the Terra Salvation building and , presumably, thinks back to when he missed Sara's play was such a great touch. I suspected that the search for Sara would maybe drag out a few issues. Now we have this plot twist. Highly looking forward to this series!

So great! I love the Kirak Infil'a throwback. I found him to be an interesting character in the previous Vader series.

Wow. What a fantastic issue. This felt like it was ripped straight out of The Empire Strikes back and it was great. It was very surprising to see Luke interact with Elzar Mann. Good choice to have Luke be guided by a Jedi from the HR era versus one that we would normally expect to see. Although the interaction was brief between Luke and Mann, It really helped in making the HR era feel like it is really a part of the SW universe and it leaves the door open for many more exciting possibilities.

Fantastic issue. Certainly an issue full of surprises. WOTBH did an excellent job of building up Crimson Dawn to the point where, at least for myself, there is the perception of Qi'ra and Crimson Dawn being formidable opponents for the Empire and not just some obscure criminal entity. Just when I start to like Ochi of Bestoon and become invested in the character and his and Vader's dynamic relationship, he turns out to be the traitor. What a twist! This all has set up not only the upcoming series Crimson Reign but also other series and shows and consequently added an element of refreshing unfamiliarity in a franchise where everything seems so familiar. So much exciting material and I cannot wait.

Star Wars: Darth Vader Vol. 1: Dark Heart Of The Sith Nov 25, 2020

I really enjoyed this issue and the first one. What makes the story more enjoyable for me is that I have already read the book The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, which gives back story to much of the characters like Avar Kriss, Sskeer and others like Chancellor Soh, so there is a sense of familiarity for me. I also liked how the battle of Kur was referenced from Sskeer's past, which again was described in detail in The Light of the Jedi. I hope they include The Eye Marchion Ro, Pan Eyda and Lourna Dee from the Nihl as I was a fan of the characters from the book!

A great backstory to the Nihl for anyone who has yet to read the High Republic novels.

I am glad that luke is back on Nar Shadaa as I think it makes for great setting, just an ominously grimy feel to it. The fact that Boba fought Wyrmen Lictor in a tournament using his father's name is interesting. I cant wait to see what the reasoning behind that is.

Fantastic. love seeing Wedge and Luke in action together, reminds me of the early 90's Thrawn trilogy by Zahn.

I really enjoyed this issue. Much more dialogue than action, but I prefer that. The tense conversation between Leia and Qi'ra, the anecdote about young Han and the implication that Crimson Dawn and the Rebel Alliance will be working together all made for a very satisfying issue for me.

Great issue. Sacks has done a fantastic job developing Valence's character. I actually am really interested in his character now and would love to see him portrayed in live action. Fantastic issue. I like that a such an obscure character is given so much attention. I enjoyed the way that Bosk is portrayed and hope that he sticks around. I was initially skeptical about the series but now after eleven issues I really am glad that I stuck around. In a time where the woke culture has plagued every every aspect of our daily lives, including the comic book industry, It is refreshing to read a series that feels genuine and is free of political activism. What I enjoy the most about this run is that it actually feels like Star Wars to me.

Good recap of TPM with some new, enjoyable stories . I must say that the covers for this anniversary special were not the best. How can you celebrate the 25th anniversary of TPM and not have Darth Maul on any of the covers!? Big missed opportunity on the 1:25 Manhanini variant.

I was really dreading the series up til this point but this was great. This issue rejuvenated my excitement for the series. Bringing in the familiar red saber was an element I felt was really needed.

I really enjoyed this issue. A lot of set-up happened. I would have enjoyed more exposition with characters like Emmerick and Holt. Older did a good job of introducing an element of mystery/horror into the Star Wars world that I am not use to. This series got off to a good start and I cannot wait for issue 2.

Great series so far! I have quickly grown a liking for Emerick and Sian which, considering how new they are to the SW universe, is surprising to me. I love the murder mystery approach Older has taken to the plot. I think it fits in well. Very excited to finish the series.

Wow, I am surprised at how much I am enjoying this. I like Ty's flashbacks and the little bit of background that it provided. Still much to uncover about her though. She seemed locked on pursuing her hunting endeavors on her own, so glad that she opened up to Drewen and taking him in. He has expressed much interest in the Jedi and from the ending of issue two, I suspect he will join the ranks of Padawan. Look forward to issue three.

Although the conclusion was already known going into the finale, there were still some exciting parts here that set up future Star Wars series. Reading through this issue I was curious as to what may have happened to the Hutt Council, Bokku specifically as he seemed to be in charge. Then found that Vader destroys the Council because of their attack on the Executor. It is surprising to me that Jabba would maintain his loyal relationship with the empire after the destruction of the council. I guess there was not really much else they could have done given that you can not change the original trilogy and the relationship between Jabba and the Empire as portrayed in the films. I am bummed that Fett would turn on Valence so suddenly. I thought they made a good duo. But the ending did leave open the idea of Valence joining The Crimson Dawn, which is interesting! Really looking forward to Crimson Reign!!

Good to see Ash back where he belongs, in a position of leadership. Barnes has done a great job capturing the essence of, what I perceive to be, the 1970's. The story is progressing well as we get to see Ash officially join the Half Deads and we get some more exposition. The half Deads suspect the Warlocks are at Central Park and are headed that way which sets up what I hope is an epic fight in issue 3!

Enjoyable issue. I found it interesting how Aphra was tied to the rebel base on Hoth with her having tricked Vader by promising the coordinates of the base. I am curious to see how the story plays out with them two.

Enjoyable issue. After reading some of the High Republic novels, I finally have a visual for Lourna Dee! Not the image I had in mind and I certainly did not think she would be, what appears to be, a Twi'lek. Still good to have her in the comics. There are only a few names in the High Republic era that I think have potential to become big and that have stay power, Lourna is definitely one of them. Good issue over all. Surprising that Myarga was killed off so suddenly. I did not see that coming. I am curious what impact that will have down the line between the Nihl and the Hutts, one can only imagine inevitable conflict between the two. The ending certainly left me wanting more. Look forward to issue 11.

Good issue. We know where Solo ends up because we have watched ROTJ, but this book still has me excited at the thought of how carbonate Solo is retrieved from the empire. Especially considering that it is headed for the Executor. My guess is that Fett takes possession of Solo and then delivers him to Jabba right were the story leaves off in before episode 6. Only thing that makes sense to me. It does not seem likely that Bokku would hand over Solo if he were the one to take possession given that he feels that Jabba has shown weakness by allowing the empire to forcefully take his auction prize. Looking forward to next issue.

There really was no story progression at all in this issue. This issue was basically Lando, Leia, Chewie and Lobot getting the Falcon up and running. I did enjoy seeing Lando's emotional connection to the Falcon, or as he calls it, Elthree. Overall an enjoyable issue.

Good first issue. I was afraid that there may be an absolute SJW overload, but I did not feel it as I read through. Good characters so far and I am excited fort what is to come.

Good overall issue. I am glad that the familiar antagonists from the High Republic novels were finally mentioned. The only issue I have is with the character design for Zeetar. He does not look like a character that belongs in Star Wars.

Being a major prequel fan and somebody who is hates the sequels and is skeptical of the High Republic era so far, I found this pleasantly surprising. I found the idea of ty being a saber for hire interesting given that it seems like something the council would be opposed to which may explain why she traverses the galaxy with her droid alone. Don't know but I am looking forward to learning her back story.

Good read.

I found this issue better than the last one. I enjoyed the dialogue between Patsy and Tony and how direct Patsy was. I generally like a story that involves politics but, just as in the last issue, I can feel Cantwell's personal political beliefs oozing through the pages. Subtle things such as" eat the rich" painted on the garage and other things, in addition to certain lines in the last issue really are a turn off. The art, once again, is absolutely killer as it has been the last two issues.

I enjoyed the first issue but the second made me cringe a few times. The whole" have you ever had to look past your own privilege" and what followed after was a real turn off. It really felt like Cantwell was peddling his own political agenda. I really hope this does not continue as I was initially stoked over the series and really do not want to drop it because of this SJW crap, as if we don't already have enough of it. CAFU and D'Armata are absolutely fantastic though!

I don't know how to feel about this series. I feel indifferent to it. The issue starts off with Captain Graf requesting a ship from Mon Mothma so that she can travel to Mustafar. She has been having concerning dreams regarding her brother Milo and feels he may be there in Vader's Castle. She is denied her transport and sent over to a bar on Emita by Senator Organa to seek out a pilot named Jaxxon. Up to this point, which was very early in the issue, I was interested. The remainder of the issue involves Jaxxon conversing with fellow patrons and explaining, by sheer coincidence, nightmares of his own that he has been having. The dream as explained by Jaxxon deviated so far from what I have come to know as Star Wars. It felt like something else entirely, and not in a welcoming way. At already almost the halfway point, there still has been very little, if any at all, of Vader. I will probably stick this mini-series out just because I am a fan of Star Wars, but I don't see it getting any better.

Man , I initially had high hopes for this run and have been so let down. Pure garbage up to this point. I seriously want to dump this now, but being a life long fan I will hang on a bit more and hope for something to change. The art sucks too.

I am conflicted here. Up to this point I really have been enjoying this run not only because of the story, but also because there has not been any SJW pandering that new era Star Wars is known for, until now. It seems like there is this gradual move to push this same sex couple narrative. First in the sequel trilogy with the kiss, then in the book Star Wars The High Republic: Light of the Jedi with Marlowe and Vellis of Naboo, and now with Losha Tarkon and her wife T'onga. Maybe I am over reacting but this does not feel like Star Wars , you can feel the SJW politics being propagated here by the cancel culture. I would have given this issue a 9/10 if it was not for that. Now there were many things that I liked about the issue. I really like how they mention the Ohnaka gang from the Clone Wars, obviously bringing in Han is great too I feel. Good issue overall, minus the pandering.

Extremely underwhelming. The way in which Aphra broke free from the cell was way too predictable and generic. I felt as though there was no story progression at all. Still optimistic about the series though.

Holy crap that was boring. That seriously was a chore to finish.

Yes Chip, the prison population keeps growing...because people continue to make bad choices. Those people who make bad choices need to be supervised, Chip. Hence the jobs. The prisons do not create prisoners, those making bad choices create the prisons. Disappointing, really. Also, there are many people who don't count toward the unemployment rate. Those who have not been actively seeking employment within the previous month don't count towards the unemployment rate, which is a lot of people. Cole's police comment was just pure lunacy.

I don't know how to feel about this one......

That was a rough one.

Man, this is getting rough to read and to maintain interest.

This issue sucked. I find it strange that Bartol would just jump into a giant and dangerous sinkhole because of his trust that Keeve would save him, someone who he had literally just met. As if that were not dangerous enough lets just hand this kid, who was dumb enough to impulsively jump down a sinkhole, a drawn lightsaber! "...Sure, I do. I cant keep it floating up there all day, can I?" Well how about you put it in its holster, you know, like a normal jedi. Also I dont get why Keeve was still asking for help from Ceret after he CLEARLY showed that he had been possessed by these bird plant things. Sad issue but I still look forward to the series!

I absolutely hate the way Bruce is drawn in this series.

Rating would have been much higher if not for Taylor's cringy propaganda.

What in the hell did I just read? 3 because I really enjoyed the art.

Apparently now Miles is a criminal. Just coerce someone into fixing one of his properties by criminally threatening him and destroying his vehicle. But its no big deal right? The building owner is successful and made good choices in life, therefore he is evil.

Surprise surprise. Julio Anta not only propagates misleading information implicitly portraying whites as racist demons who hate anybody that's brown, but he also uses the term " Latinx" LOL. Reviewing this comic objectively I thought it to be slightly better than the first issue, which I felt was an absolute steaming pile of crap. Due to the race baiting, I could not score higher than a two.

Wow that sucked. First story was absolute garbage. Enjoyed the art in the second story but that’s about it.

Another race baiting series that propagates this false narrative that somehow everyone, but blacks themselves, are responsible for problems that plague the black community. Absolute cringe.

Ta-Nehisi Coates: becomes wealthy off of the idea that America is inherently racist and evil. Marvel: Cool, want to write Captain America?

A pure propaganda play full of misinformation.

All I want is a good story with no woke propaganda. I enjoyed the first issue of the series and I was even enjoying this issue and then "[a]nd to quote another clown..."you're fired!" Except I have better hair" I do not understand why these writers try so hard to be woke political activists. Really? You go out of your way to attack a former president that you, presumably, dislike? This woke activism is pathetic and it is ruining these stories. Please hire writers that are not SJWs. Shame on you Darick Robertson.

Next issue: Jon becomes a fat lesbian with purple hair and joins Antifa.

Taylor just could not resist. He had to insert his cringy propaganda again. Jon should be in jail for much longer than 45 minutes for helping smuggle a boat load of people into the country illegally. " No one sends their child on a perilous voyage unless its more dangerous to stay behind", Bull. Even assuming that is true, which it is not, there is a legal process to enter as a refugee, including: (1) Contacting a USRP and USCIS office, (2) Filling out a form I-590, form G-325C among others, arranging for a financial sponsor among other requirements. You dont just get to bypass the law and barge in illegally, then proceed to play the victim card when people have issues with you breaking the law. The point of my rant is that Tom Taylor is a ding-dong.

Being triggered, nice and early, is bad for your health.

I honestly went into this hoping that I would enjoy it. It has become evident that Taylor's virtue signaling and his desire to be politically correct have taken priority over all else, sadly. Five issues in and it has been absolute politically motivated trash so far.
