Mairghread Scott and Paul Pelletier deliver a respectable and mostly satisfying conclusion to their run on Batgirl. Is the issue or run perfect? No, but Scott has done some of the best character work with Barbara Gordon in years! It's been a while since I've been able to look at Babs as a respectable hero who was depicted as a smart role model, and Scott managed that. For that reason, I consider this a success and I'm sad to see her go.

Castellucci and Di Giandomenico step into Batgirl with some interesting ideas, but an overall poor execution. The plot is something I'm interested in, and I love the idea of Oracle becoming a sentient, artificial intelligence, but I can't say I have confidence in this creative team to deliver. The dialogue comes off as juvenile, while the script and art both contain rough transitions. Castellucci and Di Giandomenico appear to be on different pages half of the time, and that's never a good sign.

Batgirl & the Birds of Prey hits many of the right notes, but it's a messy arrangement when the "song" comes to a close (largely due to the art). Consistency and the art could potentially plague this book, but it's the title's potential that is keeping me excited and positve. There are so many good stories lined up, and if the execution can match, this will be a title worth reading! Unfortunately, at the moment, Birds lost a little bit of my favor" Just a little though.

I feel like I have a love/hate relationship with Batgirl & the Birds of Prey at the moment. I'm madly in love with the idea of this book, the characters, and its story, but some of the things it does drives me crazy! While I consider it entertaining, there are so many small details that are preventing this book from elevating from "decent" to "really good" or "great!" For the moment, I'm still a fan and holding on to hope that this is the growing pains of learning to write in a new medium for the Benson's but I'm going to want to start seeing some improvements by the end of this arc. Fingers crossed!

Batgirl & the Birds of Prey is more of the same. If you've been enjoying the book, then you will continue to enjoy this title. If you're like me, and have been expecting more, then you'll most likely just grow more frustrated because more cracks are starting to form under the weight of the various plot threads. I'm still hanging in there, but just barely.

Let me just put it this way" If I could drop this book, I would"

My perception of Batgirl & the Birds of Prey is this: Imagine being a young kid that is a genuine fan of something. You love it so much that you create your own fan fiction, but pull heavily from other plots to create your plot. You feel great about the work you're creating, and feel as though you're creating killer stories. Fast forward at least fifteen years, and manage to stumble onto these stories you've created, and when rereading them you think, "What in the hell was I thinking? This is awful!" That's Batgirl & the Birds of Prey, except the team behind it haven't hit that "fast forward fifteen years later" moment yet to see things with perspective.

Each month, Batgirl and the Birds of Prey comes off more and more as an afterthought. As in, the writers put most of their time and effort into the television job, and just throw together what they can to get by with their comic" And that's pretty crappy for the fans and the readers.

There's some positive headway in this issue, but I don't expect it to last. When the final page turns, there remains to be immense structural and logical issues with the plot(s) and characters. If the creative team could slow down long enough to ask "who, what, why, when, where, and how" then Batgirl & the Birds of Prey could actually be enjoyable every month. Throw in a little consistency with that, and who knows what could happen. But for now, we'll have to live with average to poor stories.

This is easily the best chapter of Batgirl & the Birds of Prey since the books Rebirth issue. Unfortunately, despite vast improvements in characterization, villains, and action, Babs & the BoP is still barely above average. Yes, there are worse books out there, but that doesn't mean we should settle for mediocrity " especially when this title could be outstanding. On a positive note, for two issues now, we've seen a positive trend in quality! Let's hope it continues! (They could start by killing Gus" Just saying")

I've said this before, but I honestly don't feel like the team behind Batgirl & the Birds of Prey is putting much effort forward. Every time I read this book, it comes off as, "Ok, this is all we need to do to get by, let's move on (to our television job). I even question why the editors aren't catching some of these blatant issues. Regardless, I've come to expect nothing more than this considering it's been a consistent problem for nine issues now. Call me crazy, but I don't think I'm asking too much when I ask for a story to logically make sense.

I have to wonder of the editors dread reading Batgirl & the Birds of Prey as much as I do. I wonder if they even read it. There are so many issues with plot and logic that I'm beginning to think they don't. If the Benson's could worry less about being cute or injecting Star Wars reference, and focus more in crafting a worthwhile story and plot, I'd probably be a little less harsh. But that's clearly not going to happen, so I don't plan on being polite any time soon.

Don't buy this book. Please. Force DC's hand to either change the creative team, or cancel this book. Fans of the Birds of Prey brand deserve better than this. They deserve much better than this!

In my opinion, Batgirl & the Birds of Prey is so poorly developed and structured that it isn't worth your time. The numerous issues that have plagued this book since the beginning only multiply with each passing issue. A little effort could go a long way to improve this book, but it doesn't look like we'll ever get that with the current team. DC should be cautious about how long they let this ride though. The book has lost nearly 80% of its readers since the title's debut a year ago…

Helena and Dinah take a field trip out of Gotham, and I wish I could take a field trip from this book.

Another month, and another issue of Batgirl & the Birds of Prey. It's exactly what you've come to expect: sloppy plot, poor logic, terrible dialogue, and crap characterization. The only difference with this issue is that there's a ton of guest stars, and the initial excitement of these characters help give BatBoP a small jolt of energy and excitement. Just a teeny, little bit.

I'm still waiting for the day that I turn to the last page of this comic and get surprised by a pop-up that says, "Just kidding! The past __ months have been a total joke! The real Birds of Prey: Rebirth run begins next month!" Because this book is bad. That's the nicest way I can say it"

Batgirl & the Birds of Prey is like a broken record: month after month of poor plots, bad dialogue, and illogical reasoning. If you're still reading this book hoping that it will get better" Please stop. There will be no change until a new creative team takes over. When will that happen? Not soon enough. At this point, I honestly don't know what's worse. Anne Nocenti's Catwoman, or the Benson's Batgirl and the Birds of Prey. And just to make sure I'm clear, prior to this book, I'd considered Nocenti's Catwoman to be the worst comic run I'd ever read.

In my opinion, this isn't a Batman book at the moment. It's a Gordon book that appears to be stumbling while finding it's footing in Batman's world. That's not a bad thing, but right now, the potential is definitely exceeding the delivery.

Is the debut of "The War of Jokes and Riddles" perfect? No. There are many perfect to near perfect moments, and considering the "shortcomings" of this issue are minor, I'm optimistic that this will be King's best Batman story yet. Now we just have to wait and see how these lingering questions are handled" if their handled. But for what is essentially a prelude to an arc, I'm more than satisfied.

Tom King's "Knightmares" ends with this issue, and while I wish I could say there are redeeming qualities within this story/ "arc," there aren't. The best thing about any of these issues is the art, and that remains true here. I was ready to move on from "Knightmares" weeks ago, and I'm happy that we finally are.

Finally! Finally, we can move on from "Knightmares" and get back to the story at hand. King has milked this concept for way too long, and it's time for us to actually get some plot progression. This issue has some nice scenes, so I don't want to take away from that, but none of it is new, fresh, or original. It's felt like King has just been phoning this in for months now, and I desperately just want to move on.

King's Batman will, undoubtedly, continue to be a polarizing topic of conversation for many fans. Many will love this issue, and many will hate this issue. Yet again, I feel as though the art team does most of the leg work to make this an enjoyable read, as King continues to fall into bad habits concerning dialogue, lack of progression, repetition, odd story structure, and potentially another "mystery" that will lead nowhere. I enjoy seeing the Bat-family together, but I can't say that this did much for me outside of that. Maybe next month?

Thomas Wayne recaps Tom King's Batman run in an issue that is completely skippable. *Sigh* I just need to make it through Batman #85...

Mikel Janin deserves most of the praise here as the art is absolutely stunning! If not for him, I'm not sure I would have found anything worthwhile in this issue " an all too frequent trend of Batman lately. To give Tom King some credit though, we finally get some plot progression, but the relationships and conversations here are absolutely bonkers. For me, it isn't believable, and while I had a fleeting moment of, "Well, I'll give King the benefit of the doubt." No" I'm sorry, mister King, but you've lost that grace.

As we wrap this arc up and prepare for "City of Bane," I can't help but feel we've taken a step in the right direction. There's no denying that I haven't enjoyed King's Batman, but I was quite pleased with this issue. We finally get some moments that many of us have been waiting for, as well as some distinct answers to a few questions. With that said, King still has a lot of ground to cover before closing out his run. And considering Batman ruined Thomas' plan, I have no doubt that he'll become even more of a threat to Bruce in the near future.

I don't care for Batman #75 at all, and I have many reasons why I don't. In fact, many of these reasons stem from a trend with Tom King. A trend of trying too hard to defy expectations rather than simply tell a good story. A trend of not properly setting up, working, or telling a narrative fully and completely. A trend of illogical character developments. And a trend of Tom King recreating characters as himself. At some point, I just want a well-written story, without gimmicks, without shock value, with honestly depicted characters, and without needing to skirt around crucial plot points. I don't think I'm asking too much in that respect, but I don't think we're ever going to get that with Tom King's Batman.

Tom King's run is extremely flawed, and while I'm not ignoring that, I don't want to take away from the quality of this issue alone. Batman #76 is a high-energy issue where King abandons many of the bad habits that I've spent years complaining about! Does it undo the shortcomings that have preceded this? No, but it definitely deserves praise for what it does well, and there are many things to praise here between King's script and (especially) Tony Daniel and Tomeu Morey's art.

What can I say? If you've been a fan of King's run, then you'll probably love this issue. If you're like me and haven't enjoyed his run because of his inability to properly write characters, his insistence of inserting himself into characters, and the walking depression that is his "Bruce Wayne/ Batman," then you'll dislike this issue. Yes, it has its moments and the art, as well as Damian, is great here, but that's about all I can say to support Batman #77. The "twist" at the end will definitely divide readers, and I'm willing to bet that many people will not be happy.

There are plenty of things worth complaining about concerning Tom King's Batman. I've done more than my fair share of it. At the end of the day though, this is an excellent issue that beautifully captures the relationship of Bruce and Selina. Yes, I'm a little miffed with the timing of this issue, but I can't deny the excellent work that the entire creative team provides here. Batman #78 is top-notch, and all parties involved should be incredibly happy with the work they've done here!

There's nothing of substance here. Whether you're analyzing the conversations between Bruce and Selina or preparing for the upcoming battle, it's all pretty bland and boring. There's no benefit to reading this issue. No plot progression. Hardly any character development. No cool action. Just good art. Thus continues my love/hate relationship with Batman. (Love the art teams/ hate the scripts.)

Is that a harsh statement? Absolutely. But I call it as I see it, and King has been coasting on Batman since the non-wedding. The book has gone nowhere since then, accomplished nothing for the greater universe/ legend of the character, and has made a mockery of many of the characters it's featured. At this point, King's Batman is like an old, sick dog that just needs to be put down. Thankfully, that appointment has already been scheduled.

Batman #81 - like most of King's Batman run, especially the back half - is utter nonsense. I do not recommend it. Batman should be leading the comic book industry, and King's attempt has done anything but.

Look, it's more of the same. You either love it or you hate it. I'm in the latter category. If you're enjoying Tom King's Batman, I'm genuinely happy for you.

As much as I want to recognize and praise Janin's art in my score, I can't. The theme and message of this book is too vile and I refuse to stand behind it in any way.

Aside from a few nice moments, this issue is a complete waste of time that delivers a message that completely contradicts everything Thomas Wayne has been doing" So" Basically" Your standard Tom King comic these days.

The final issue of Tom King's Batman is predictably boring and unsatisfying" Even with low expectations, this is still unsatisfying because much like King's run, he doesn't really accomplish anything. And what King's legacy on Batman will be: a convoluted book with retroactive explanations that fail to add up or hold much water.

James Tynion and Tony Daniel deliver a solid debut that makes the most of what came before it, while also embracing a new, different path. While the approach to storytelling is more traditional in many ways, it's still a fun, engaging read with quite a bit of promise. Hopefully, as fans, we can let go of what came before and embrace the elements that we enjoy as we move forward.

The biggest problem with Batman #87 is that it doesn't feel like a proper follow-up to Batman #86. Ultimately, this chapter is a jarring transition from a story that was so focused on featuring Batman without Alfred and what Bruce Wayne could do for Gotham, to a story about some ominous, mysterious character we've never heard of coming to wreck Gotham. The flow simply isn't there. Had Tynion led in by continuing Bruce's role in this chapter, then shifted the focus to the assassins and the Designer, then the story would've flowed much better.

Tynion and March continue to deliver solid work, but they both seem to be so preoccupied with checking off so many different elements with Batman that I'm not sure if they're completely focused on simply telling a good story. Again, there's plenty to enjoy here, but I can't quite say that it's quality. If I were to compare it to food, I'd say this is more like fast food than a home-cooked meal.

There are a number of things that James Tynion is doing right with Batman, but in his attempts to provide fan service, characters, and some fun nods, he's failing to deliver on his core story. Is the book bad? No. Definitely not. Could it be better? Absolutely. A little more focus and an approach of show versus tell could lift this book from decent to great. Thankfully, we get incredible work from Pagulayan, March, and Morey, and that really helps elevate the book to solid standards.

I had high hopes for Tynion's Batman, but it's turning out to be a bust for me. And it's not that it's bad, it's just that the book is average in every sense of the word. The stakes feel forced. The emotions feel forced. Tynion is trying way too hard to build this up as something bigger than it actually is, and the Designer was, unfortunately, over-hyped and under-delivered.

Batman #92 is fine. It's not terrible, but it's far from satisfying. I feel like the core concept of what Tynion has dreamed up has some value, but the execution fails to live up to that potential by a good margin. At the end of the day, Tynion's craft just isn't strong enough to let Batman pack the punch that it needs to, and a mediocre Batman is never a good thing.

Some of the core ideas are great, but he either glosses right over them, or the execution is such a mess that I can't take it seriously. Maybe he should be more of an idea guy than the execution guy, because more often than not, I feel he fails in his execution.

Tynion goes full day-time soap opera with this issue, and it's not great. From the ludicrous plotting, to the miserable attempts to create a "moment," and the overuse of melodrama" There's not much that can save a book that's suffering terribly from poor writing and pure desperation. I wanted to like this run. I wanted Tynion to do well and prove me wrong" Unfortunately, he's only proving my case that he's not that good of a writer.

After spending an entire arc building to "Joker War," it's a little disappointing that not much actually happens in this issue. And while James Tynion does improve some of his character work, he also continues to fall into opportunities that are ever-present in his work. There's a quality issue here concerning his craft, and it is something that hinders the execution of the story as a whole.

I've made it quite clear I'm not a fan of this run. I know many people are loving it, but, for me, this is not Batman. In so many ways, I feel as though Tynion is missing the mark. All "Joker War" is, is "shock value" and a desperate attempt to try and create something that will last long-term, but, unfortunately, misses the mark on the one thing it needs to be: a good, cohesive story.

Batman #97 isn't as egregious as previous issues, but there's little plot progression or depth/substance, so it fails in that respect. We're also reaching a point where you have to look at "Joker War" as a sum of its parts, and things just aren't adding up, paying off, or connecting really.

Tynion, his editors, and DC really need to ask themselves a few questions. First, what story are you trying to tell? We're four issues in, and other than saying this is a rip-off of the maligned "City of Bane" but with Joker, there's really nothing more to say. Second, who is this book for? There are so many different tones and genres conflicting with one another that the book has a bit of an identity crisis. And finally, why have we had four issues with no actual plot progression?

This book is not good, and it's shameful to pretend that it is.

I can already see the comments now. "This isn't a review!" Yeah? Well, "Joker War" isn't a story. How's that for you. But seriously, "Joker War" is a journey to nowhere and fans deserve better. At some point, DC Comics will realized that they need to actually invest in their books if they expect readers to invest in them as well.

Batman #101 isn't the most exciting issue we've gotten from James Tynion, but it is one of the better issues he's delivered. He takes his time here to re-establish the status quo, and that will hopefully give him a better foundation after the lackluster "Joker War." My only concern is that Tynion will quickly abandon some of the more interesting story elements he introduces here, much in the way that he did when he first started his Batman run. And, if we're honest, he doesn't have the best track record for delivering strong, long-form stories, so I'm not holding my breath. I hope he proves me wrong, I'm just not sure if it will happen.

I'm reaching that broken record period where I feel like I repeat the same core problems with a writer/story over and over again. Tynion appears to have solid ideas, but his execution of them is quite poor. I honestly wish I were an editor at DC Comics because there are so many minor notes that could have been made that would have elevated this issue. It's almost as if the industry has adopted this mentality that comics can't be as great as other mediums when it comes to storytelling/ quality, so they don't even bother to try. It's a shame"

I've said it before and I'll say it again" Tynion is not a good writer. He has a few tricks that work well for him, but mostly he just falls into patterns of gimmicks, overwriting, and relying way too heavily on exposition. He's also proving that he's not great at plotting a story. There are some core ideas here that are actually good. They're definitely not original, but, thematically, they're worth exploring" He just can't seem to execute those ideas in a meaningful way, and that's resulting in a lackluster product that DC is banking on.

This isn't Batman. And what sucks, is we're stuck with at least another year to two years of this crap.

I really was hoping for the best with Batman #106, but it's quite clear we're just going to get more of the same. Actually, DC and Tynion appear to be doubling down, and they're ignoring general feedback in the process. A year from now, when people start asking how Batman fell from its pedestal, I'm just going to link back to all of my reviews. There'll be no need to add an "I told you so."

Batman, written under James Tynion's pen, is not good. Some of the plots sound awesome, but to say that the execution is question would be incredibly kind" Because the execution is terrible.

For me, Batman just doesn't feel like a Batman book. Oh, and skip the Ghost-Maker back-up story. It's atrociously bad.

Tynion is incapable of creating an original idea, and we continue to embark down a path of regurgitated characters and plots. The execution is far from great, plot progression is limited to two to three-page exposition dumps, and we have a 9-page run of Ghost-Maker and Harley shenanigans " which may or may not include flirting. Here's some advice, just stick to the other Bat-books.

Tynion continues to steal other people's ideas and present them as his own. It's getting so bad at this point, that I'm shocked someone isn't yelling "plagiarism!" Batman has become a joke of a comic, and as a result, DC is starting to look like a joke as well. Maybe, at some point, someone will take their job seriously at DC and actually try to make a good Batman comic rather than just rely on gimmicks and cash grabs. One can hope anyway.

Batman #111 makes it quite clear that James Tynion has been building to Fear State under the guise of Future State/ the Magistrate. The issue reveals a number of plot threads that will unfold in the upcoming event, and they're executed well enough that I'm interested. Incredible artwork from Jorge Jimenez and Tomeu Morey " along with some entertaining and engaging action " makes this a worthy read. That doesn't mean the issue is without its problems though. James Tynion still has opportunities, namely his depiction of Batman.

James Tynion proves, once again, that he's not only the king of exposition but that he's the king of regurgitating exposition. This issue does nothing to move the needle and fails to deliver any excitement unless the final page does the trick for you. But even then, Peace Keeper X is nothing more than a copy of a copy, which is just an individual representation of a very tired idea. Jorge Jimenez's art is fantastic, but also completely wasted considering there's literally nothing for him to do here. I was excited for Fear State, but this first chapter was nothing more than a massive letdown. Oh, and skip the Clownhunter backup.

Once again, Batman "Fear State" fails to move the needle in a meaningful way. While I won't consider this issue a yawn-fest like the previous turnouts, I will consider it rather lifeless.

At this point, I'm checked out on Tynion's "Fear State." It's not offering anything " other than Jorge Jimenez's art " to keep me interested or invested. Once again, Tynion is writing around his story, and despite a solid set-up to the arc, there's just no substance here. Because of that, I can't recommend it.

After months of dragging its feet, James Tynion's "Fear State" finally moves the plot forward. There is still an abundance of problems here, but at least we got something positive. Granted, I feel like a shill for praising something as rudimentary as plot progression, but that is unfortunately the reality we live in these days.

Say what you want about me, but I've given y'all fair warning that this would ultimately be the outcome of Tynion's run" Nothing. No payoff. No satisfaction. It's his schtick at this point. The writing has been on the wall since the beginning and after multiple arcs of ignoring the actual meat of his narrative, it was clear that all he had to offer was new characters for the speculator market. If that's something you want to read, then I guess this is good for you. As for me and my stance, this is easily the worth Batman run I've read, and I think time will only prove that point.

I did not like Batman 2021 Annual #1 because it was nothing more than a conclusion to the Ghost-Maker back-up that ran through Batman that I despised.

Tom King delivers an excellent Annual, and while it might not be for everyone, for me, it is spectacular. There's no deep dive into characterization here. No attempt to try and make Batman different. This is merely a presentation of who and what Batman has always been and always will be. A hero in every facet. Every. Single. Day.

Batman Annual #5 feels like a step down compared to the previous slate of Batman Annuals, but feels relatively on-par with what we've been getting from James Tynion" Relatively basic, standard fair Batman that is poorly characterized.

Considering this is an oversized issue with no action and just multiple scenes of characters talking, I can't recommend this with the highest of praise " especially if you've been keeping up with the Bat-books. Now, if you haven't been reading the Bat-books, then this is the perfect issue to prepare you for what's to come! You also get the pleasure of some of Tynion's best execution concerning dialogue, and incredible art by the talented Ricardo Federici " even if they are kind of wasting his talent here.

How will history remember his run? Most likely as one that spun its wheels for a good while before abruptly ending while still trying to hold on to some delusions of self-importance.

Tom Taylor gives DC fans what they've desperately been waiting for: the Batman and Superman we know and love. Highlighting the strengths of Batman and Superman, we're treated with a straight story, strong writing, and no overcompensating gimmicks. This book should please any Batman or Superman fan.

Bryan Hill and Dexter Soy deliver a great debut to Batman & the Outsiders that is brimming with potential. The plot that is set up is entertaining enough, but it's the characters that make this a real win! With a winning combination of characterization and plot, I can't wait to see where this team takes us! If you're a fan of anyone from the roster, then you need to give this book a shot. And with so many winks to what we can expect in the future" I have to admit I'm pretty excited!

Batman & the Outsiders #2 is a mixed bag. While the issue is action-packed and high-energy, it fails to provide a narrative that feels worthy of sinking your teeth into. Neither Bryan Hill nor Dexter Soy get a chance to allow their work to breathe, and that results in an issue that feels somewhat generic and formulaic. I personally expected this considering the title's delays and interference, but I'm remaining optimistic that Hill has a quality plan in the near future

Batman & the Outsiders #3 isn't great, but it's solid. Hill continues to struggle to find a balance between team dynamic/ character exploration and plotting. Ra's al Ghul's arc in this chapter is sheer perfection as he psychologically manipulates Sofia to bend to his will and mission. Unfortunately, the titular team's plot turns out to be a little lackluster. I still have hope that the book will only improve over time, and I feel confident that Hill and Soy will deliver.

Batman & the Outsiders #4 isn't bad, but it's also far from great. There's a lot of potential here between the roster and the plot, but Hill is trying to do too much at once. There doesn't appear to be a consistent or cohesive focus, and that's only gutting the momentum of the story.

The biggest complaint I have about Batman & the Outsiders #5 is the fact that it's an incredibly fast read. Other than that, this issue is a clever, fun, and action-packed read. Each month, I talk about the potential that both this book and Bryan Edward Hill have, and we really get to see glimpses of it here. If Hill is able to continue providing narratives like this one with Ra's al Ghul, and grow the characters along the way with top-talent artists like Dexter Soy, then we'll have a treat on our hands for years to come.

Hill has a solid story on his hands with Batman & the Outsiders, but the book is far from perfect. While there's endless potential here, Hill hasn't quite found the balance between plot, characterization, and balancing the characters well. In retrospect, Soy's art, while good, feels as though it's lacking something here. It looks good, but it simply isn't packing the punch I've come to expect from his work.

I've seen some people refer to Batman & the Outsiders as a slow burn. I don't think it's that at all. I think, more than anything, Hill needed to get editors out of his way, and he just needed a few issues to really find his footing. At this point, he's done that and then some! Batman & the Outsiders #7 is a stellar issue that delivers on plot progression, characterization, and throws in a surprising twist as well! I don't know where Hill plans on taking this book, but I know I'll be along for the ride because the title deserves your time and attention.

Batman & the Outsiders continues to grow and improve with each issue as Bryan Hill and Dexter Soy fully take the reigns of this title. The team has endured some speed bumps to ensure they can establish a proper foundation for both the narrative and characters, and are now paving the way with a well-balanced, gripping, and engaging story. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite titles from DC, and I only hope it continues to improve from here!

Bryan Hill and Dexter Soy deliver a treasure of a book, and if you give Batman & the Outsiders a chance, I sincerely believe you'll find that this is the type of comic you hope every comic you pick up will be. There's action, emotion, depth, adventure, humor, and heart. The ability of these two men to craft such an incredible and engaging story that continues to develop and grow is inspiring. Batman & the Outsiders is what modern comics should look like.

Batman & the Outsiders continues to be an absolute delight to read! It's the high-octane blockbuster that we want, but balanced with characterization and depth to near perfection. No page or panel is wasted with this creative team, and more so than any other book, I'd say you get your money's worth here. Batman & the Outsiders is a commitment with great payoffs, and I hope this is just the very beginning of things to come!

Bryan Hill and Dexter Soy continue to deliver some top-notch storytelling with Batman & the Outsiders. I know it's been my go-to phrase when I think a creative team is killing it, but this is some serious masterclass work here and it's a shame more people aren't talking about it. This issue delivers one hell of a fight, some additional plot/ character development, and establishes some threads that should carry into the next arc! Again" This is some masterclass work!

While Batman & the Outsiders #12 is undoubtedly a slower-paced issue and maybe a little more low-key than one might want after more than a month's hiatus of new comics, you can't deny the quality of the issue itself or the role it plays in the overall title. There are incredible and shocking moments found here, as well as the promise that we will finally get to see the Outsiders face Ra's, directly, in the near future! And if the glimpses we've gotten of how Hill handles Ra's, then we're going to be in for a real treat!

The issue doesn't offer much up in the way of plot progression, but it does touch on the characters and their mindset, which is appreciated. Hill is also clearly laying down more foundation which will pay off in a future issue " we've come to not only expect this from him, but trust him in delivering as well. The only question I want to know is" Where in the hell is Sofia?

This is far from a perfect issue and overall falls short as far as plot progression is concerned. There are some strong moments though " even if they are low-key. If there's one thing I've learned though, it's to trust Bryan Hill and Dexter Soy. They clearly have a vision, and I haven't been disappointed yet. So, while I do wish for the pace to pick up a little, I know there's a purpose to everything we're getting now.

In a time when comics just don't seem to be getting it right, Bryan Hill and Dexter Soy are showing us what the standard should be! These men clearly have a story to tell, and their executing that story quite well. Ra's al Ghul is deliciously entertaining here, and the tension and suspense that has been created provides for a glorious read. Two more issues will never be enough, because I selfishly want so much more.

This is easily one of the weaker issues in the run, and the fact that it ends the conflict with Ra's al Ghul so quickly is definitely disappointing. That being said, Black Lightning and Cassandra Cain both get their moment to shine, and I can't help but feel we've been waiting way too long for DC to deliver for each of these characters.

As much as it pains me to say this, Batman & the Outsiders #17 fails to live up to expectations, and comes short of giving this book the closure it deserves. You might be better off ending the run with the previous issue and calling it a day.

While satisfying in many ways, Batman & the Outsiders Annual #1 left me wanting more, and not necessarily in a good way. There's some great action in this issue, as well as some great artwork form Raynor and Guerrero, but the vessel Hill used to tell this story feels a bit tired. If you haven't much work involving Katana, this could be worthwhile for you, but it's a mostly self-contained story that doesn't appear to have much impact on the overall narrative.

Batman Beyond is one of the most exciting reads from DC Comics, and it's not getting the attention it deserves! The relationships that have been created within such a short time, as well as the interpretation of this universe, are absolutely fascinating! Come hop on the time machine and enjoy the ride!

Unless the only thing you're looking forward to in Batman Beyond is Terry McGinnis regaining the mantle of Batman, expect to be a little let down by this issue. The conclusion of this arc, and the set-up for Rebirth are so quick that it leaves readers wanting more substance from both aspects. I refuse to say the issue is bad, but it pales in comparison to the preceding work.

When it comes down to it, Batman Beyond doesn't cover much ground, and the comparison of this story to the previous run, as well as Batman Beyond: Rebirth #1 hinders it more than anything else. The story isn't bad, but it definitely feels a little worse than it is while reading because what came before was so good. So go ahead and grab this issue, because the ending sets up a great scenario!

An improvement over last month's chapter, Batman Beyond manages to create some really nice moments that fans will love. In the same respect, there will be a number of moments that don't sit well with them either. But when you reach the last page, the fun entertaining aspect wins over and will leave you looking forward to what's next.

Batman Beyond is decent. I wouldn't go so far to say that it is good or bad, just decent. What doesn't work in this title's favor, is that prior to Rebirth, it was really good. Compared to the momentum Jurgens and Chang had, it's hard to look at the current arc as anything other than a work in progress.

Batman Beyond #4 is the comic book equivalent of Lost: Season 3" It's not needed. There's so much repetition in this arc that I'm ready for Terminal to go away, Bruce to hurry up and get back in the picture, so Curare can show up and start slicing and dicing stuff.

As an overall story, "Escaping the Grave" is average at best. The plot of this issue doesn't really change much either. However, one reveal at the end of the issue completely turns this series on it's head, and boosts the score for me! I hope Jurgens and Chang run with this plot, because this reveal alone could drive many, many arcs!

This is a much better direction for Batman Beyond, and even though it took some time and growing pains to reach this point, I'm happy we're here. Overall, it's a strong issue, but sadly, the weakest aspect is (yet again) our title hero. No matter how good your book is, if you're lead character is the weakest link, that's going to create some problems. Are we sure we can't have Tim Drake back?

In many ways, this issue improved from last month, and in many other ways, it faltered. In the end though, I found this chapter of Batman Beyond to be more gripping than it's been since its debut as Jurgens and Chang continue to expand on their universe and add a great deal of texture to their characters.

While I didn't get the bang that I was hoping for, Batman Beyond #8 still delivers in other ways. The action is spectacular, and the possibility of what Terry might do now that we understand what the new bat suit is capable of is intriguing. If there's one thing that plagues this issue and prevents it from being great, it's the predictability involved with Ra's al Ghul's reveal.

Jurgens continues to deliver a great read with "Rise of the Demon." Damian continues to be the most interesting aspect of this arc, and I really hope we get more interaction between Damian and Bruce in the near future. As for Terry and his suit" I could do without that.

Batman Beyond #11 is a solid, fun issue that is high energy from start to finish. A few twists in the plot add an element of surprise, but there are moments that are equally predictable and repetitive as well. The story does wrap up a little too neatly for my liking, but leaves a world of possibilities open for the future! The highlight for me personally is Chang's art! The guy delivers some beautiful work, and that alone is worth your time and money!

Batman Beyond #12 is ok at best. Orlando and Ayala introduce a few interesting concepts in this issue, but they're not enough to make reading this chapter worthwhile. As much as I love Barbara and Max, and hope for the potential of Nissa to come to fruition, this issue is completely skippable. Do yourself a favor, read the original introduction of Nissa as Batgirl, and hold on to the hope that this time she'll be fully integrated into current continuity. As a character, Nissa has a lot to offer, and we deserve to get those stories and relationships in the future.

I had to read Batman #13 multiple times, and flip back and forth through the issue trying to connect the pieces together. My outlook on the story shifted from: "God this was a hot mess!" to "I mean" I see what he's trying to do, but he failed miserably." Then finally, "Alright, now that I've identified and followed each individual narrative, it's not as bad as I initially thought it was." So, prepare yourself before you dive into this chapter" It's going to take some effort, and quite frankly, most casual readers won't pick this issue up a second time (or more for that matter) to try and puzzle the plots together. They're going to read it once, form their opinion, then move on to their next book.

Batman Beyond #14 serves more as a reminder and reintroduction than anything else. After two months of filler issues, Jurgens reminds readers of his trajectory. The issue is fine overall, but it can be a little boring at times. What Jurgens really needs to start doing, is weaving together these plotlines he's creating. Each arc has introduced something incredible for the Batman Beyond universe, but none of these moments (Joker, Barbara/ Batgirl, Damian, Matt, and Max) beyond it's reveal or foreshadowing. Because of this, the title feels a little incohesive, so I'd love to see textures of these elements continue throughout every arc.

This prequel is a short, fun read, and it's free! So go out, grab a Dr. Pepper, and enjoy a free comic (or five) with 23 flavors of awesome!

The Batman's Grave #1 is a master class in writing and storytelling. Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch deliver a subtle, well-thought and executed debut that builds a solid foundation with a book that has endless potential. If you find yourself reminiscing about what Batman used to be and represent; if you're not really connecting with current incarnations of Batman, then this is definitely the book for you. It may not seem like it at first, but there's a lot to unpack here, and you'll be happy you let yourself experience it.

While Ellis may have pulled his punches a little for this issue as far as the script is concerned, Bryan Hitch does quite the opposite. With the first half of the book featuring a mostly silent fight, and the second half focusing strictly on setting up new plot points, I suspect some readers may feel let down by this issue. I also suspect that expectations may get the best of some readers, so I'd like to remind everyone that this is only the second chapter of a twelve-issue story, and the technicality and quality of this book is top-notch! Just stick with it!

The Batman's Grave is the definition of a slow burn, and a story that is most likely hindered by a monthly release schedule. If you can get past the impacts that publication schedule has on the story at large and remember that this is still the rising action of a larger story, then you'll most likely appreciate this book for the detective work, exploration of relationships, and overall character study of Batman, Bruce, and Alfred. If you're not able to look past this, then you'll probably want to trade-wait this title because the monthly issues will only feel slow and unimpactful for those seeking instant, bombastic gratification.

The Batman's Grave #4 doesn't do much to help the title establish and drive the core plot, but it does deliver some incredible art and action. Will you enjoy the issue? That depends on your ability to appreciate art. For the most part, this almost a silent issue, so if diving into action panels isn't your thing, then you probably won't like the issue.

Batman visits Arkham Asylum on Gordon's request as a connection is discovered between the recent murders and suicides in Gotham. With something tangible to work with, Batman begins his mission to uncover the Scorn " a task that brings him face to face with Eduardo Flamingo again, and puts both he and Gordon in danger. As expected, The Batman's Grave #5 is brilliantly executed by Ellis and Hitch, but delivers a much-needed dose of adrenaline.

The Batman's Grave #6 does many things well " as expected " but also takes a few steps back by not taking advantage of the momentum that was set up in the previous issue. The book does, however, deliver some incredible action, nice character beats, and gives us some much-needed detective work that's been void of Batman books for quite some time now! But what else would you expect from the superstar team of Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch?

The Batman's Grave should be used as a reference point when looking to identify good writing and good art. I often discuss the craft of writing and how it's more than just telling a story, and this book helps make that case. Ellis and Hitch have developed such an incredible piece of work, and I often find myself reading he issue two or three times, soaking in the pages and panels because there's so much that can be mined from it. As always, excellent work all around!

Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch continue to slowly unfold their narrative as Batman discovers who Scorn is, and that Scorn has turned his assault on him. We continue to get great conversations between Batman and Gordon, and Bruce and Alfred, and a rise in tension due to the new stakes. I know this book isn't for everyone, but if you're one of those fans who feel that writing is more than just solid stories and the art should be more than just cool pictures, then this is the book for you.

The Batman's Grave is a smart book. It takes its time, and some readers may not enjoy that on a monthly release schedule, but there is no denying the quality of this title. It's just a shame that more people aren't reading it or talking about it. The book deserves your attention because Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch are delivering masterclass work. So, if you're not reading the floppies, plan to read the trade when it's released. You won't be disappointed.

Batman: Black & White is a fun exploration into the world of Batman as depicted by a range of creators. It gives us a glimpse in how different creators would approach Batman " often in ways that we would never see elsewhere. The art is definitely the standout here, and the scripts are equally as strong. No matter your take on Batman, there's something here for you. So, if you're at your shop today, go ahead and pick it up. This book is well worth your time and money.

There is something special about Batman: Black & White. The pressures of an on-going aren't in the way. Editorial isn't issuing mandates. The stories are brief, yet impactful. The art is always top-notch. What more could you honestly ask for in a comic book? And with DC acting a little more fast and loose with taking risks, who knows what we could see develop from these stories? If you're not picking this title up monthly, then you're missing out.

Batman: Black & White #3 is the weakest book in the series so far, and that has me a little worried for what's left for the remaining issue. While the first two books featured multiple, strong stories that really delivered a punch, that's mostly absent here. There's good art, yeah, but most of the stories themselves are generic. Even the strongest story in this collection ("The Cavalry") is so straight-forward that while it's good, it's not something you'll reflect back on and think, "Oh, man! You need to read this!"

Batman: Black & White #4, like the previous issue, doesn't pack the same punch as the first two issues, but it is still a fun, entertaining read. This book serves as a great opportunity for DC to showcase their talent " especially their artists " and give us, the readers, a glimpse into what certain creators' takes on Batman would be. It's always fun, and always beautifully illustrated. Where can you go wrong?

While I don't feel that any of these individual stories pack the punch as some of the stories from the first two issues, I do think the is the best issue overall! Every story in this collection was an absolutely delight to read, and worthy of praise. I was losing hope in this title after watching the quality slip the last few months, but this issue restored my faith. Hopefully, it will close out just as strong next month.

The final issue of Batman: Black and White doesn't pack the same punch as some earlier issues, but it still delivers some solid stories. And while it doesn't hit any homeruns " aside from Nick Derrington's incredible "Opening Moves" " it also doesn't ever dip into the depths of being terrible.

Batman: Prelude to the Wedding: Nightwing vs Hush is ok, but barely. The plot and threat from Hush are anything but satisfying. Thankfully, we are treated to an incredible intro to the story, and an equally strong conclusion! The best part of the script is easily Dick's characterization, but the highlight of the issue itself is the incredible art.

There are elements of Batman: Secret Files: Clownhunter that I really enjoy, and then there are elements that are a complete miss. I question some of the character rationalizations that are set up for Bao here. Brisson's script comes off as though an individual is justified to murder someone if they're bullied, and I don't back that ideology. I don't agree with bullying either, but murder definitely isn't the answer. I am even more let down by some of the technical issues with the script considering minor notes from the editorial team could have elevated this book tremendously before it was ever even sent to the artist.

Batman: Secret Files: Huntress #1 is a solid and promising story that plays with a unique and exciting premise. Tamaki and Lapham have fun playing in the horror genre and deliver some creepy and intense moments that have me excited for the next installment of Huntress. But, you see, that's where this book's greatest problem lies. There may not be a next installment of this title. Instead, this plot will just carry on in the pages of Detective Comics as a subplot, making this issue nothing more than a bridge, or, perhaps, a collection of deleted scenes. As disappointed as that makes me, I still found the issue enjoyable overall, and look forward to seeing where Tamaki takes this.

Williamson struggles with landing any of his plot points here, and unfortunately focuses most of his time and attention on the most uninteresting aspect of the entire issue. The narrative takes way too long to introduce Red Death, and when we do see him, we barely get any time to understand how terrifying he actually is. If the point of these one-shots is meant to establish these characters and instill fear, then this issue fails to do so. If anything, I walked away from this chapter extremely cautious of what's left for us.

I thought Andreyko and Haun brought a decent effort to their first arc. It's clear they got more comfortable with the story and characters from issue to issue, and while I would consider their effort "safe" overall, it was still enjoyable. If you didn't give this team a fair shot, then you really should. I would give this book a little bit of a higher rating, but the rocky start, and some questionable moments are keeping it from receiving higher numbers. It doesn't mean the potential isn't there though, because I strongly believe it is.

I enjoyed this issue quite a bit! I know the tone of the review may not come across as me being overly enthusiastic, but I promise you, I enjoyed this issue. As I stated previously, I feel that Nocturna is the perfect rogue for Batwoman, and this issue really kicks off the new arc with clarity, action, and a strong pace. It's a great foundation for Andreyko to build upon, and I'm crossing my fingers that he slowly layers in subplots and twists each issue, as he did with the previous arc. So if you're out buying comics, pick this one up while you're at it!

Andreyko fumbles with this issue a bit, and we don't seem to progress on the plot " which is something he's been good at. A large chunk of the book also seems to be Kolins art, which doesn't help this book in any ways. I'm hoping they re-find their footing with this brewing fight, or that they throw in a curveball to surprise readers. If they don't, I'm worried to see what will happen to this title.

Overall: While there were things that will definitely impact and change this book, I wouldn't consider any of it Earth shattering, at least not yet. And that's the key. There's a lot of potential stories that are set up in this issue, but at the moment, it's just that: potential. In my opinion, Andreyko crafts decent stories, but his characters and execution never quite do it for me.

While I don't feel that this issue was absolutely terrible, there was also nothing rewarding or redeeming about it either. After I read it, I felt like I had actually wasted the previous fifteen minutes. Because of that, I can't recommend this issue in good faith.

Andreyko continues to butcher a book that had one of the strongest foundations to build upon. It's a shame to watch amazing characters such as these turn into shells of who they really are and participate in pointlessly juvenile drama and adventures.

It's been hard for me to care about this book or feel invested as it is, but now that I know the title is coming to a close, my care for this book has diminished even more. If you've been reading this title since the beginning, and feel like you need to finish the run, I would understand. Other than that, I would advise you to not waste your money. There are plenty of other titles that are much more entertaining and engaging.

While far from perfect, Andreyko and team manage to deliver an issue that is enjoyable, and somewhat refreshing considering how bad this book has been.

If you've been following Batwoman since the beginning, then you're going to find this issue to extremely frustrating. If you're new to the book and characters, then you might actually find this issue somewhat entertaining. If you asked my advice though, I'd tell you to chance your money on another title.

Andreyko has literally driven this book so far into the ground that its relevance is non-existent. It's a shame too considering how much praise and potential this book used to carry.

Andreyko and team delivers a surprising book that is entertaining from beginning to end. There's so much to enjoy here, that the negatives are easy to move beyond. Above any other Futures End title, this issue (aside from Kate) feels like a natural future! I recommend you get this issue if you are (or were) a fan of Batwoman.

Overall: In all, the book is decent. There's a lot of potential with Mother Eve and Ra's al Ghul bringing some much needed complexities. But as we learned with Red Hood and the Outlaws, complex characters don't always help a story out. At least there's a clear direction for the book.

Overall: Marx and Rocha seem to suffer from the same issue: inconsistency and lack of focus. While I find most of the issue to be poor, the high points were strong enough to bring this book to a low-mediocre score. If Marx could learn to focus the details of her plots, then she could potentially be a gem for DC. It's going to take a lot of work to get to that point, but the potential is there.

Overall: While still suffering from its standard problems, Marx and Rocha manage to deliver quite a satisfying issue that most Birds of Prey fans should enjoy.

After a Marx high in the last issue, this issue just fails miserably with poor dialogue and lack of suspense.

As with the big fight with Ra's al Ghul, Birds of Prey excels when they're dealing with action and adventure. Throw any type of substance or emotion into the mix, and this book just falls on its face. If you're ok with poor characterization, and equally poor dialogue during these times, but can move past that for some decent action" then I would recommend this book for you. Overall, this issue is just average at best. The lows and highs don't balance out enough to make this worth reading.

It looks like Marx and Rocha are going to go out on a high note, and that makes me happy. If you stopped reading, but want to see how this team closes out the title, I'd almost say it's worth it. I'm not completely there yet, but I'm definitely getting close to saying, "Pick up the last three issues. It's worth it for closure."

My vote: skip this issue. Use your money to check out one of the newer titles that recently started (perhaps the New Suicide Squad), or pick-up an existing book you've thought about reading, but never did.

This issue was better than I expected it to be, and more enjoyable then what I've covered during the run of the series. It's a shame that the creative team couldn't pull this type of focus during the book's actual run. If they had, this book might not have been cancelled. This book focuses on Dinah, so if you're hoping to see what Strix or Condor are up to, you're out of luck.

Birds of Prey isn't perfect, but I didn't expect it to be considering the constant changes it endured behind the scenes. There are plenty of strong moments found here though, and that makes me wonder what we would've gotten had DC stuck with their original plan of making this an on-going series. More than likely, the book would've benefited because it was clear that Azzarello had a long-form plan that was character-focused, and he would have been restrained from some of his questionable choices by not having the luxury of a Black Label branding to give him more room to play with "mature themes."

I don't know about this book at the moment. The tones seem to shift back and forth as fast as a puck on an air hockey table. I tend to be drawn to more serious narratives, but I'm sure there are a number of people who prefer the more light hearted aspects such as band duels. Regardless of the direction of this book, it's still miles better than Batgirl at the moment!

Black Canary continues to be brought down by this band gimmick, and it's something that I can't wait to see go away. When it's presented as a layer of Dinah, it works well. When it consumes her character, the story falls flat. If you've loved this arc, then I'd recommend you grab this issue. If you haven't been fond of the band element, I recommend you save your money and wait until next month to pick up this book.

Overall: It's the same thing we've come to expect from Ann Nocenti: random trite that is just irritating. Fingers crossed people! Fingers crossed!

Overall: While this issue is a step up from the mess that Nocenti usually provides, it's still a little messy. That being said, this is probably the most enjoyable issue I've read during her run on Catwoman, and that's worth something. There's still a lot of room for growth before this book becomes what it should be though.

Overall: This issue is a mess. And that iseasily an understatement. Does Ann Nocenti realize how bad she is? I mean, does she finish an issue, then sit back and think, “This one is good!” I don'tunderstand how someone can be allowed to continue writing, when their work is this bad.I've written stuff that was complete crap before, but not nearly as consistently as she has. I'm saying prayers to baby Jesus that my hunch comes true and we have a new creative team after this arc!

I don't recommend reading this. It's bad. It's so bad that even when Olliffe provides solid art, you don't notice it because the story is so baffling. And it doesn't help that Olliffe's art is really inconsistent, so if you do notice it, it may not be good. The one takeaway that I did enjoy, is that I learned what "gas light" is. I also learned that the phrase developed due to a 1940's film, which I fully intend on checking into at some point. So thank you, Ann, for introducing me to this.

Ann's also been a HUGE advocate for finding ways to make comics more accessible for people " especially through the digital market. The fact that she pushes for more kids and women to involve themselves with comics, is pretty respectful. I discuss the negative aspects of Catwoman so much, that I think it tarnishes her name as well. The reality is, her history with comics, what she's done for women and children over time, and her push to make comics more accessible for people across the board, is pretty amazing. And for that, I give Ann Nocenti an 8/10. Unfortunately, for this issue, I give it a"

Valentine and Brown team up to bring a smart and sexy interpretation of Catwoman. The new direction is a risk, but turns out to be a home run! I feel like Selina is at her best when she's cloaked in complexity, and there's definitely plenty of that here!

The new creative team continues to develop this new direction for Selina, building more and more on a fresh foundation that is intelligently intriguing, dangerous, and intense. This really is Selina Kyle like you've never seen her before, and you'll be sorry if you miss out.

There aren't enough people reading this book, and that's honestly a shame. I full believe that when this arc is finished, it will go down as one of the greatest Catwoman arcs of all time. There's just so much depth and moral ambiguity that it puts Selina in a position where she thrives. Go get this book!

I still believe this will go down as one of the best Catwoman stories of all time. If you're not reading it, then you need to! Seriously, get after it!

Overall: This book continues to impress, and I will continue to recommend that people pick it up. Valentine could become an outstanding talent in comics, and her introduction is near perfection! What this book lacks in masks and action, it makes up for with sheer, class writing and art.

The conclusion to this arc may be a little more abrupt, and tamer than what I was expecting, but it's a damn good book. It feels like a prologue of what's to come, and if this is just the beginning, then I can't wait to see what's in store next!

Catwoman continues to build upon itself as it leads into the second chapter of a story that is sure to define the character for years!

Catwoman is still the strongest it's been since the book relaunched, but the team stumbles a little in this issue. That hardly means this issue is bad though, and if this is the weak spot in their run, then I don't think we have much to worry about as we move forward.

Overall:Daring, intelligent, and full of suspense, Catwoman is the best it's ever been since the launch of the New 52! Selina's reach into Gotham gets further and deeper with each issue, and her claws have never been this sharp!

Valentine's Catwoman embodies everything you want it to be: daring, bold, intelligent, dark, emotional, and hopeful. I've said it before and I'll say it again: This will go down as one of the best Catwoman stories ever told.

Valentine's Catwoman is everything I want it to be: sexy, smart, and a damn good ride! This is the best we've ever seen Selina Kyle!

This issue isn't great" it just is. It's a transition. It serves its purpose. It sets up the next run. And despite those facts, Valentine manages to breathe as much life and meat into this script as possible.

Tieri and Inaki deliver a strong debut to their run on Catwoman, but it's far from perfect. While Tieri's dialogue is really strong, I'm concerned his plot won't be as bullet proof as we'd like. Regardless, it's still a fun read, and will keep you entertained!

Tieri's Catwoman is a fun, high energy read with colorful plots and gritty characters. The twists will keep you guessing as the mystery behind this ever-growing ordeal continues to unfold. For those of you that were waiting to get a pulse on the new creative team, I'd say you're safe. Go pick up this issue!

Tieri sets 'em up, but in his sprint to knock them down, he trips and falls. For all extensive purposes, there's a decent amount of good in this book, but if you're detail oriented, there will also be a lot that drives you crazy.

This story fell short of what it could have been, and should have been. I don't blame Tieri on this though. I feel as though he went in with a plan for a six or seven issue arc (maybe even more), put things into motion, then got derailed with Rebirth. It's a shame too. If the first two issues of Tieri's arc are a representation of what I assume he had planned, then readers are really missing out! This issue isn't bad, it's just disappointing. Thankfully, we get two solid short stories that end this chapter on a positive note.

Black Mask makes his return to Gotham, but he's not the only Sionis that Selina is concerned with. Continuing to dive deeper into this rift between Catwoman and the Sionis family, Tieri delivers a lot of positives in this issue, but also, unfortunately, drops the ball on a few occasions.

Catwoman ends its run with a decent story from Frank Tieri. If you're a die-hard Selina fan, then you should definitely pick up this story, even if it's just to say, "See you soon."

Overall: This is a fun and revealing issue that only adds to the current plot. If you're reading Catwoman at the moment, then you should definitely pick this issue up. If you're not reading Catwoman, then you need to be! Snyder created something that Valentine is courting to become one of Selina's greatest and most defining moments!

Sholly Fisch should be praised for not only bringing back the Selina we know and love, but for literally taking advantage of every opportunity he has in this book! He surrounds Selina with interesting and familiar characters, touches on other Futures End one-shot events, creates a believable world for Selina five years from now, and fills the issue with whit and strong writing. There are even some nice nods to Catwoman books from the past. If you're a fan of Catwoman, then you NEED to pick up this book!

I honestly don't know who the real star is here, Joelle Jones or Selina Kyle/ Catwoman. From start to finish, this book is pure purrfection! Not only does Jones drop the mic with an engaging, well-written, emotionally complex script, but she provides art that, if this were a film, would rival the greatest directors and actors in the industry. Quite frankly, this is the Catwoman book we've always wanted, and Joelle Jones is the storyteller we never knew we needed!

Joelle Jones continues to deliver strong characters and nice art with Catwoman #2, but this issue suffers some from a lack of plot progression. In the end, though, the pros outweigh the cons, and the opportunities presented within the issue are easy to overcome. There's a great story somewhere in here, and I hope Jones finds it because I'd really love to read it!

Joelle Jones continues to deliver a solid run on Catwoman even if the narrative is moving a little slower than I'd like. We have the foundation of an incredible story, and are treated to complex, morally ambiguous characters that have endless potential. This issue adds a new, exciting plot thread with the introduction of an old character that has me eager for future issues. Factor in Jones' pencils and Allred's colors on top of all of this, and you're left with one hell of a book!

Your enjoyment of this issue will depend heavily on whether or not you have read Ed Brubaker's iconic Catwoman run. In no way is this issue bad, but if you've read Brubaker's run – especially Catwoman: No Easy Way Down – then this will be nothing more than a twenty-page recap of that epic and iconic story. If you haven't read this run, then you'll be treated to a dark, morbid, and emotional that will serve its purpose well, but really should be experienced in full by reading the source material. In the end, this chapter does a solid job of establishing what is important: the relationship between Selina and Maggie.

A little bit of focus could take Joelle Jones and Catwoman a long way! The narrative feels clunky and ill-planned, which is a shame considering there are so many intriguing aspects that have been set-up. I can't help but feel that Jones is nothing more than a kid in a candy store at the moment. There are so many options to explore, that she's trying them all and failing to savor any of them effectively. Thankfully, Jones' art is masterclass and well worth the purchase of this book alone!

As I mentioned above, Catwoman: Election Night isn't a Catwoman story. It's a political commentary that is poorly written. There's an attempt to try and pull a story out of all of this, but Finch's focus is all over the place, none of the stories are fully developed, and they're all tied together in a half-assed attempt to make the plot interesting. If you want poor writing, poor characterization, and questionable plot progressions/ resolutions, then yes, you should get this book. If that's not what you want, then save your money.

What Convergence: Batgirl lacks in a strong plot, it makes up for with great characterization. I may be the only one on this boat, but I'd take strong characters in an average plot, over a plot that tries too hard and relies on shock value any day.

Overall: Convergence Batgirl #2 loses a lot of the aspects that made its first half enjoyable and pleasant. What we're left with is a shallow story that felt rushed, uninspired, and a waste of time.

Overall: This book is poorly executed, stretches belief more than it should, and offers nothing worthwhile to the story at hand. It's not terrible, but unless you're one of those people that things are so bad that they're good, I'd advise you skip this issue.

Overall:Although it's better than last month, this issue is still far from great. At this point, I'm happy to leave this Catwoman behind, and get back to cannon.

Overall: Convergence Harley Quinn is something that every Harley fan NEEDS to have in their collection! It's an amazing representation of how broad she is as a character, while delivering everything you could ever want from a Harley store: great laughs, entertaining action, and a lot of crazy.

Despite being better than nearly anything from the most recent Suicide Squad titles, Convergence: Suicide Squad is far from perfect. Ultimately, the pros greatly outweigh the cons, making this issue a must-read for any fan of Amanda Waller and her team of degenerates!

Overall:With moral ambiguity and numerous selfish and selfless acts, Convergence Suicide Squad delivers a product that you wish you could delve into each month!

Overall:ThisConvergencetie-in is up there with the likes ofConvergence The Question andConvergence Nightwing/ Oracle. If you're even remotely a fan of Superman, then you should pick it up. The themes of humanity and fatherhood pushed this book beyond all of my expectations!

While there are a number of duds in this special, there are equally as many stories that will surprise you! With entries like the ones featuring Wonder Woman, Etrigan, and Katana/ Black Lightning, I'm confident you'll find your money and time well-spent.

DC Festival of Heroes: The Asian Superhero Celebration is a bit of a mixed bag, and most of that bag is on the less-than-stellar side of things. While I appreciate the initiative to feature Asian talent and characters, it also just seems to be for show. Other than one or two instances, are there actually any plans for the featured talent/ characters to move forward for regular, or semi-regular, issues? No. And beyond that, aside from Ram V's story with Cheshire Cat and Mariko Tamaki's story with Cass, most of these stories don't really serve as a great introduction to who these characters are and why they're worth your time.

I'm happy DC's releasing these books, but I think they can do better, and I genuinely hope they do.

Deathstroke delivers on multiple levels, and ultimately owns Sean Ryan's New Suicide Squad, showcasing how bad that book actually is in comparison to what it could be! I'm excited to continue exploring this arc, and can't wait to see the outcome!

Most of the issue is action, so the book is a fast read. As we've come to expect with Deathstroke, the creative team doesn't hold back in regards to graphic violence. But considering the character it features, it needs that edge to keep from feeling like a watered down version of Slade, so the violence is welcomed. Add in the craziness of Harley Quinn and other Suicide Squad members, and it's one fun ride " even if it is a slight step down in quality from the previous issue.

This issue was quite a surprise. I've come to really enjoy this book in general, but this issue seemed more fun than most of the other issues, and it was the perfect plot to have fun with. The addition of Harley and Catwoman bring an added energy, but in the end, it's Deathstroke that continues to carry this book. Considering many other Deathstroke titles have fallen short in the past, Daniels & Bonny's run feels as though it's getting better and better.

Describing something as "fun" and "entertaining" typically means one of two things" It's so bad that the person saying that can't find anything detailed or nice to say about it, or they're being honest and that thing really is fun and entertaining. In Deathstroke's case, it's the latter. With so many books missing mark, it's nice to see Deathstroke remain consistent, while continuing to keep a pulse on other characters and events within the DC Universe!

This is easily one of Bonny's weaker chapters as his narrative suffers from predictability and a rehash of problems, but it's still a fun book. If you've been following this arc, and enjoy it, don't let the dip in quality discourage you. Bonny could easily bounce back next month, but he's going to have to keep from falling back on some of these bad habits.

Easily the worst chapter of Deathstroke since its launch, Bonny is in desperate need to regroup if he wants his story to be viewed fondly. The issue isn't terrible, but I'm wondering if it will be worthwhile to finish this book, or just imagine my own ending before diving into the new Rebirth story"

There are times when books just suck, and you learn to come to terms with it early on. You expect nothing less, and you're able to brush it off, and move on with your day. Then there are books like Deathstroke. This book started strong, and held a solid quality for months, before slowly beginning a decline from good, to decent, to ok, to kind of bad, to meh, then bad, and then finally to this issue, which is "thank God there's not another issue because I would cry if it got any worse."

Easily the worst chapter of Deathstroke since its launch, Bonny is in desperate need to regroup if he wants his story to be viewed fondly.

Tim Drake's return is complete, and the future of Detective Comics looks both promising and abundant. The lag that impacted this title for the past few months has diminished, and energy has been restored to the narrative. While I feel the issue itself is a bit rushed, the action is solid, and the themes and characterization infused into the story make up for any opportunities that pop up. For me, "A Lonely Place of Living" will serve as a high point for Detective Comics, and I'm excited to see what the future holds! Welcome back, Tim Drake!

Detective Comics #977 hits a lot of great, fun notes for me, and serves up a dish of drama as well. Tim shines in the issue, but it's "future Kate's" actions that will have you talking, and create a debate on whether future Tim really is out of his mind, or if you feel his actions were justified now that you have context. The downfall of the chapter is Brother Eye, and after Worlds' End and Batman Beyond, I'm ok if Brother Eye goes away for a good while.

Tynion continues his swan song for Detective Comics, and I wish I could say that I enjoyed the issue more than I did. There are fundamental problems that have existed in this book for a majority of it's run, and they appear here as well. If you're able to look past questionable characterization and logic, then you might find something worthwhile. Unfortunately, the more I dissected scenes and moments, the more glaring and problematic they became. While others may be able to look past this, I cannot. But hey, at least we still have Tynion's "Rise of the Batmen" arc" That was good, right?

Despite how good the dialogue is at times " especially the internal dialogues of Batman and Flash " this story falls short once you examine the details. There are too many instances where the script contradicts itself, the art, or is just so obvious that it's a bit nauseating. If you don't mind spending a few bucks for a few incredibly written lines in a mediocre-at-best narrative, then I guess this issue is for you.

"The Price" is nothing more than wasted real estate. DC had a great opportunity to tell a gripping story and showcase two of the universe's best detectives working together to uncover a mystery while also coming to terms with the loss of loved ones. Instead, we got bickering and shallow drama in an inconsistent, incoherent story.

The Flash Annual #3 is a solid issue, if not a weird one. There are quite a few questionable decisions that are made, and considering this is a Flash book that's written by the regular writer of The Flash, that happens to feature the Suicide Squad, that if any character(s) suffered, it would be the guest characters. But that's not the case here. More than anything, the Flash feels out of place and mishandled. Overall, despite its missteps, it is a fun story if you choose to look past some substantial flaws.

Future State: Suicide Squad is a bit of a mixed bag. Neither story knocks it out of the park as far as a stand-alone story is concerned, but "The Justice Squad" manages to at least pique my interest for the next chapter and future titles coming from DC. Black Adam's "The Beginning of the End," however, while not bad, is forgettable in every single way. Should you pick this up? Mmmm" That's on you. If you're a die-hard Black Adam fan, then you might find something there. Other than that, I'd say only pick this book up if you want a tease into what DC has planned for Suicide Squad and The Crime Syndicate.

We barely scratch the surface of the endless potential that this book has. And that's why it was so hard to score and critique this book. It's situations like Gotham Academy, where I wish the debut could be a trade or mini collection consisting of roughly four issues. I believe it would sell more people on adding the title to their rotation, because they would have a stronger knowledge of what they're really getting into. At the moment, and despite how much I want to, I don't feel confident in saying, "Pull this book It's amazing!!" because I don't really know if it is worthwhile or holistically accurate. What I will confidently say, is that at the end of the issue, I wanted more. Gotham Academy offers up some goodness, covered in loads and loads of potential. And it's that potential " after reading the issue a few times " that resulted in me landing on my final score.

Maybe it's the innocence and allure of youth, or that Gotham Academy forces me to reminisce about simpler times in my own life, but I find this book charming and fun. It's a different take on Gotham, but one that is well appreciated amongst all of the weight and darkness of the other titles. I can't wait to see how this book effects the current continuity. It will only make it that much more interesting.

Each month, this book grows in heart and charm. Each of the kids featured are very real, believable, and pretty engaging. With a burst of adventure, Gotham Academy gains something it definitely needed " a solid direction.

If you're looking for an entertaining book that is fun, good for all ages, and contains quite a bit of heart, then this is a book you should be reading. If you haven't given this title a shot, then you should. Each issue gets better, and if given the time, Gotham Academy could grow to be one of the best books in DC's lineup.

Gotham Academy is an absolute joy, and continues to prove itself each month! I look forward to spending time with these characters, and this issue delivers unlike any issue before it!

Gotham Academy is currently the shining light at DC Comics, and a book that every Batman fan should be reading! I experience absolute joy each month when I pick up this title!

Overall: While this issue is enjoyable and a nice aside to Gotham Academy, it does take away from the intensity of Endgame while also serving as the worst delivery from this title. It's not bad, but the fact that it arguably fell short in two major areas left me feeling a little hollow.

While average at best, this book is fun. That being said, I can't recommend that you spend your money on this issue or story arc. Instead, spend your money on Lemire's two volumes (Vol. 4: The Kill Machine and Vol. 5: The Outsiders War), and wait to check out Ben Percy's (Detective Comics "Terminal") when it launches in June!

Gotham shines in Green Arrow #29 thanks to Ferreyra's art, but Percy misses the mark with Batman as a character. Unless you want a heavy-handed political commentary wrapped up in an arc that feels so forced it's unnatural, I recommend skipping this issue.

"Gotham Resistance" finds success because of a sum of its parts. While the issue itself is just ok, there are many developments the greatly add to Metal's story overall, and that gives this tie-in more prevalence and weight compared to other tie-ins. The original concept of "Gotham Resistance" appears to fall apart in this issue, but we do get a nice look into the Dark Multiverse, as well as some highly anticipated teases!

While this is a perfectly fine issue with a few enjoyable moments, it's not life changing. If you haven't been reading the run, then I wouldn't pick it up. It's a nice read, and I enjoy Gordon's representation, but in the end, Robo-Bats doesn't do enough to warrant Batman fans to pick up this issue.

While the issue itself may not be overly exciting, what is exciting is the potential of greatness that is teased in this debut! The exposition is out of the way, the characters are in place, and we've been treated to a hilarious scenario with well-written characters! This should make any Archie fan have, and hook the Harley/ Ivy fans enough to bring them back next month!

Marc Andreyko and Paul Dini deliver in making Harley & Ivy Meet Betty and Veronica a fun read, but they struggle a little when the plot creates some identity crisis that unfortunately falls over into readers being confused as well. Despite some opportunities found within the issue, it will still put a smile on your face, and satisfy you enough to come back for more next month! Plus, there are so many great meta aspects to this book that any comic fan should check it out!

For me, this chapter of Harley and Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica stumbles a bit as it gets turned around in its own mythology. Combine that with a lower level of fun dialogue, and an absence of nostalgia/ classic comic references, and this ends up being a slightly-above-average read.

Let's be honest, this book is nothing but silly shenanigans, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Silly shenanigans can be fun if presented well, and I think Harley & Ivy Meet Betty and Veronica succeeded in doing this early in its run. Unfortunately, now, those attempts are falling flat, and thus, so is the book itself. I want to like this book, but I can't imagine it turning things around to the degree that it needs to with two issues remaining. I won't go so far to say that the book is terrible, but it's definitely not great " and it pains me to say this considering Paul Dini has writing credits!

The best way I can describe Harley & Ivy Meet Betty and Veronica, is to say that it's an exercise in what writers shouldn't do with a crossover of this nature. You're most likely coming into this because you love the characters featured in the book, but I'm still looking for said characters since their representation here falls so short of my expectation.

What started as a refreshing, fun, idea, turned into a silly, nonsensical mess full of tired, predictable, and overused jokes and plots. I wish I could say I recommend Harley & Ivy Meet Betty and Veronica, but I can't bring myself to do it in good faith.

Harley Quinn & the Birds of Prey #1 is a balls-to-the-wall, action-packed, hilariously vulgar comic! Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti return to what fans loved so much about their original run on Harley Quinn, and find ways to mix it up a little with some f-bombs, gore, and the Birds of Prey. If you're a fan of Harley Quinn or Palmiotti/ Conner, you won't want to sleep on this one!

Harley Quinn & the Birds of Prey #2 delivers some great, funny moments, but it also has portions where the book really feels as though it drags. Thankfully, the slower moments are earlier in the book, so by the time you reach the half-way point of the issue, all that's left is a fun, crazy adventure! No, this won't be everyone's cup of tea, but the title doesn't hide what it is, so it gives you a fair warning before you ever even open the book. Despite some shortcomings, I found this issue to be quite entertaining and funny, and I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

Harley Quinn & the Birds of Prey #3 is a hilariously fun romp that delivers from start to finish. The action lands. The jokes land. And the plot is quite engaging from start to finish. Is this the best Harley Quinn story that Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti have created? Possibly.

Harley Quinn and the Suicide Squad's April Fool's Special is a wacky romp throughout Gotham City that provides its fair share of laughs. Just when you think you've got it figured out, you get a twist, followed by another twist, and you're left with a conclusion that will leave you hungry for Rebirth's Suicide Squad.

Tom King and Clay Mann deliver. Yes, Heroes in Crisis is just a comic book, but it's an important one. The themes touched on here are unbearably relevant, and King has set himself up so that he can take his time to tell this story. While we've barely scratched the surface, I can't complain about anything other than some political pandering within DC that pops up in the narrative. Whether it holds up over time will be the real question, but for now, it's an excellent beginning that asks the right questions.

King continues to face personal challenges head-on, creating a commentary that some reader, somewhere, might need to hear. That's not to say every comic should include these moments, be this deep, or personal, but Heroes in Crisis set out to do exactly this from its inception. And quite frankly, it's managing to accomplish that task quite well. Add in beautiful artwork from Clay Mann and Travis Moore, and you're left with one hell of a final product!

This is quite possibly the most effective and promising issue of Heroes In Crisis to date. Despite being a flashback issue, we now know more than we've ever known, and respectfully have more questions than when we started.

Heroes in Crisis is an important and emotionally gripping book that is plagued by a number of problems. For every incredible moment we get, we receive an equally questionable moment. In this issue, King starts to show his hand a little more blatantly, but it's nothing new for readers" And considering the momentum of this book relies on "what's around the next corner?" that's not necessarily a good thing.

Heroes in Crisis isn't a perfect book by any means, but it does many things incredibly well. The themes presented here are some of the best in comics today, and this issue really drives home what this book is about. While some of the character work is questionable, and the plot needs some improvements, this chapter provides some hope that we could be in for some good advancements as we move into the back half of this title.

Heroes in Crisis #6 is nothing more than a continuation of Tom King's self-indulgence. There was potential for Heroes in Crisis, but that appears to have been abandoned for a murder mystery that King is incapable of actually writing. It's honestly embarrassing. Each month it's becoming more and more clear that there's no story here, and I'm done defending King's blatant disrespect for characters and readers.

Once again, Heroes in Crisis leaves us to question whether this run is a complicated narrative that will be fully realized once the last chapter hits stands, or if this is just another one of Tom King's convoluted attempts at grandeur. Either way, this title is moving at a snail's pace while also moving too quickly. There are plenty of "moments" throughout this issue, but none of them feel that relevant due to their execution. Also, the "reveal" that was promised is anything but that. As much as I want to like this book, it's starting to appear as though it will be more like an event comic that bridges one status quo to another rather than serving as a strong, independent story. If that's your cup of tea, great. Personally, I'd rather have a well-written, well-thought, story" Heroes in Crisis is not that.

The killer is revealed in this issue, but despite all of the revelations, I still don't believe the reveal is the truth. Regardless, whatever is the truth, I feel as though it doesn't matter. This story has gone nowhere, and with a mere twenty-two pages left, I can't imagine that it actually will go anywhere. The interesting aspects of Heroes in Crisis are long gone, and now I just want the story to end so we can move on. There are too many holes, conveniences, and examples of piss-poor characterization for me to remotely care about this book or take it seriously" And that really is a shame because this book, as a whole, does have moments of greatness.

Tom King's Heroes in Crisis is a failure as far as I'm concerned. The book damages a great, legacy character, and this final issue fails to deliver a satisfying conclusion. I think we all know what Tom was going for here, but it didn't happen. Whether you blame Tom himself for this, Dan Didio, the "murder mystery," mistreatment of characters, editorial mandates" Whatever. They're all part of this, and the sum of these parts just don't work. This issue, in particular, is just the nail in the coffin.

This issue is exposition and a refresher executed as well as it possibly could be executed. Though there isn't much plot development, it's still well written, entertaining, and has some nice character moments, all of it getting topped off with Manapul's art. Johns' Darkseid War is clearly one for the books! If you're not reading Darkseid War, then I just have one question for you: "Why?"

Yet again, Johns' proves why he's one of the best in the business, with Darkseid War not only serving as one of his best works, but one of the best stories in comics today! Hold on to your butts because this is clearly just the calm before the storm!

Johns continues to deliver with Darkseid War, and considering it's one of the best stories to come from the New 52, it makes me happy to see this title close on a high note! If you're not reading this arc, I strongly encourage you to pick it up! I haven't been let down yet. There's fantastic storytelling, and some great character work!

Justice League: Darkseid War is: epic, awesome, amazing, moving, fun, action-packed, earth-shattering, and the best thing to come out of the New 52 era" If you read any DC comic, then you should be reading this book. Johns and Fabok have marked their place in history.

Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok close out their epic with this issue, and despite a few issues I have with the narrative, I still found this book to be good. Darkseid War in its entirety is what I find really special though. This story is easily one of the best things to come out of the New 52, and if you don't read it, you're missing out. Thank you Johns and Fabok for creating such a fun story. I can't wait to see what's coming in Rebirth!

While light-hearted and fast paced, this issue doesn't do much for me. I didn't hate it, nor did I feel like I lost time, but I also don't feel like this issue is needed for the sake of the overarching narrative. Had the dialogue and characterization been handled better, I'd probably be a little more enthusiastic.

My reservations for this issue were unjust, and Jurgens delivers a quality story that focuses on Lex Luthor, his motivations, and his limits. If you plan on reading the current Superman stories, then I highly recommend you pick up this issue! You won't be disappointed!

Overall: While Justice League of America isn't perfect, there are a lot of fun, positive moments that appear to be building towards a complex arc grounded in the characters. It's an over-sized issue at an inflated price, but I think its well worth it!

Where Geoff Johns' Justice League is a kickass, plot driven narrative, Hitch's Justice League of America is a kickass character driven narrative that will satisfy any DC fan, especially the tried and true fans that have missed the way comics used to be.

Justice League of America works because it wins on so many levels. It's entertaining, action packed, intelligent, mysterious, and daring all at once, without ever feeling too crowded or convoluted with noise. It's clear Hitch had a distinct vision coming into this, and it shows in execution.

Forget Justice League of America! Hitch's inability to produce product on time has allowed DC the opportunity to feature another book and character of theirs, and they're mission was successful! While I was initially irritated that we were getting a fill-in issue that felt like a desperate attempt to push off a book with low(er) sales onto an unsuspecting audience, I'm now glad I read this book! Kindt and Williams far surpassed my expectations, and have convinced me to pick up Martian Manhunter! I advise you pick up this issue, and then let that determine if you should follow my lead and pick up the main book as well. Fair play, DC! Fair play!

This issue proves that Hitch is capable of telling stories that are character driven, while also delivering those grand "comic book moments" we've come to expect. I still think he needs some development in his writing, but it's strictly around the structure of his narrative, and how to tell his story, while also making the most out of the monthly format.

More exposition heavy than I would've liked, this chapter of Justice League of America is still a solid read. It is one of the weaker chapters of this book, it does "rev up the JLA engines" to set-up what I'm hoping will be a slobber knocker between Rao and the Justice League.

Steve Orlando doesn't have me doing back flips with Justice League of America, but that shouldn't take away from the fact that this is a respectable launch to the series. His characters feel true and are captivating, but the quality of the plot is a bit of a question still. I get the feeling that Justice League of America will be one of those books that gets better with time as characters and plots slowly build on one another. So why wait? Go ahead and jump onboard now so you won't be forced to catch up.

The second chapter of Justice League of America is disappointing. I can only hope that it's a temporary stumble, but considering how negatively this issue impacts the foundation of the arc, I can't imagine future issues being much better. Also, while I found myself getting caught up in the initiation of this team " mainly because of the characters " I'm going to need a justifiable reason for this team to exist. More importantly, I'm going to need a reason for them to be called the Justice League.

Justice League of America continues to misfire, and it doesn't appear to have any hope of course correction in the near future. It's not a terrible book, it's just so for from meeting its potential that it makes reading it even more frustrating. Logistics and details are left to the imagination for most of the plot threads, and the art will leave you wanting more. I'm not certain why DC is having so much trouble delivering quality Justice League books, but they need to figure it out.

Out of all of the stories I've read from Steve Orlando, Justice League of America is by far the most lackluster! I'd hardly consider this a team book. Instead, it's more like a collection of poorly executed fight scenes featuring a collection of heroes and D-List villains". And that's about it. No character development, no gripping story, and no payoff.

This is one of three books I cover that I would drop if I could. I dread reading this title every other week. I'll literally spend an hour or more trying to find something else to do so I don't have to read this book (along with Mother Panic and Birds of Prey). Wash dishes, fold laundry, clean up dog poop" They all feel like better options. Let that sink in for a moment.

Justice League of America continues to spiral into oblivion, and all I can think about is how much I despise writing reviews every other week, and this title is 50% of the reason I feel that way. If you want to waste your time and money, Justice League of America is the book for you.

Don't assume that because I'm not completely trashing Justice League of America this week that we're in the clear. This issue is far from good, but there are some decent moments at least. Now if Orlando can keep this is a minimum quality standard and manage to create engaging arcs on top of this, we might actually get treated to a good book in the future.

I fully believe Steve Orlando is an excellent writer and have loved a number of his works. Justice League of America is not one of them. Considering the aspect of his work that tends to resonate with me the most is his understanding and use of characters, I feel as though we're being cheated by these short, quick stories. There's no opportunities for characters to shine, or even for fleshed out narratives. We're getting the bare minimum, and quite frankly, that sucks.

Orlando and team improve upon their previous work, but JLA is still a diamond in the rough. With some foundation building, purpose, character development, and longer, more personal (yet still action packed) arcs, they might get somewhere worthwhile with this book" Then again, this could just be a lump of coal until DC gives up, tosses it out back, and relaunches the title within six months following the cancellation. Who knows?

Have you read Justice League of America? The nonsense that presented itself in the first issue is still the same nonsense we're getting today. Yet somehow, as terrible as this book is, and despite the fact there is no sense of purpose found here, I still like JLA for reasons I can't explain. The book is bad. Really bad. But for whatever reason, it doesn't make me want to pull my hair out when I read it.

Justice League of America is far from perfect, but "Curse of the King Butcher" makes a great leap in the right direction! The improvements in plot, characterization, and purpose actually make me excited for the next arc! Now I'm going to cross my fingers and hope for the best!

"Crisis in the Microverse" takes makes a giant step in the right direction for Justice League of America. A title that seemed doomed to fade away into obscurity following a number of poor stories, pulls out an astonishing comeback by delivering the coming we've been expecting since DC Universe's Rebirth and the announcement of JLA. With six issues at his disposal for this story, Orlando is able to flex his craft by fleshing out characters and setting up, what appears will be, one hell of a story! If you've given up on the book, give it another shot!

Heavy exposition and a strange, new world create a bit of a speedbump in Justice League of America #13. It's not a huge issue, but there is a lot of new information to process. Thankfully, with this exposition, Orlando also introduces two interesting plots concerning who the Microverse team can trust, and what Afterthought is planning for the JLA on Earth. Both of these elements add a jolt of momentum and intrigue to an already interesting rescue mission! I'm hoping that the exposition is out of the way, and we can spend the next four issues riding out the plot!

Look, I know Justice League of America has been rough. I know that assessment might be too kind" But I also know that this arc is incredibly entertaining! If you haven't read this book, or you dropped it after a few issues, check out "Crisis in the Microverse." Everything has improved! The story is great, the dialogue is great, and the characters are great! There's suspense, wonder, and a sense of excitement due to the newness of the universe! Steve Orlando is doing some great work here, and it deserves your attention!

Two factors will decide how much you like or dislike this issue. The positive aspect is that Ray Palmer is back, and he gets the spotlight here! Unfortunately, there's practically no plot progression. You literally would need to make an argument as to why someone needs to read this issue to complete the story. It's also frustrating that the one question all of us came into this issue wanting to be answered, remains unanswered. As happy as I am to have Ray Palmer back, and as beneficial as it is to learn what Ray has been up to during this time, I can't help but feel that this issue was a let-down. It's not bad, just extremely disappointing.

Justice League of America #16 is basically "What's Ray Palmer Been Up To?: Part 2." It's a filler issue, even though we do gain some ground with the plot. The problem here is that it's hard to care. So much plot and narrative are shoved down our throat so quickly, that the moments meant to create an impact don't land their punches the way they should. I'm still happy to see Ray Palmer and hopeful that we'll get a strong finish to this story, but this issue and its predecessor could be skippable depending on how the next issue plays out.

Justice League of America #17 is a frustrating conclusion to "Panic in the Microverse." Most of the story is wrapped up using exposition, coupled with poor dialogue. To make matters worse, when all is said and done, this story doesn't matter. It serves no purpose in the grand scheme of things. What should have been one of Rebirth's greatest moments, is easily one of it's worse! If you jumped back on to the JLA book because I urged you to early in "Panic in the Microverse," then I apologize. This story clearly wasn't worth your time like I thought it would be.

I've come to realize that I need to accept Justice League of America for what it is. I've been hard on the book, and while I won't walk my criticisms, I do realize that I've let my expectation rule a piece of my opinions. But now that I'm choosing to approach each issue with this outlook, I'm finding strengths in the story I wouldn't have allowed myself to see before. "Surgical Strike" is a perfect title for this arc, and precisely describes Prometheus' approach to confronting the JLA. There are moments of heavy-handed dialogue, as well as an unnecessary reveal, but overall the issue works. The highlight here though is a subtle commentary on terrorism, and it couldn't come at a more perfect time. The idea is tastefully approached as Orlando presents a reality, and allows us to form our opinions from there rather than shocked a stance down our throats.

I'll be the first to admit that JLA isn't without its problems, but I do feel there has been some progress. We're still getting some heavy-handed dialogue, and poor plot progression in some areas, but as far as the conflict is concerned, I think this is the most entertaining threat yet. It's quick and to the point, but Prometheus' presence packs quite a punch all on its own.

Justice League of America hits a high note with the conclusion of "Surgical Strike," and Orlando should feel proud. He delivers his strongest story yet, and promises more solid storytelling in the future! If you dropped this title, give it another chance. Justice League of America might become the most inspiring and heroic book at DC if it continues on this trajectory!

I'll make this simple. If you enjoy the humorous juxtaposition of Lobo's love for dolphins, then you'll probably enjoy this issue. If you think Lobo's love for dolphins is stupid and weird, then you'll undoubtedly hate this issue. I lean more towards the "enjoy it" side of the spectrum, but I do feel as if this issue could have been executed a little better. What can I say, it was the sum of all of those wonderfully weird moments that pushed me over the edge.

Johns' Darkseid War is the closest thing to perfection that's graced DC in years! This story is a MUST READ! I don't say that often, so please understand how good this story arc is for me to make that type of declaration. The story builds and builds with each issue, and you're constantly getting worthwhile payoffs throughout the run. Darkseid War is magic!

King delivers an amazingly touching story that sincerely caught me by surprise. It's a great balance of plot and character, all while driving home it's core theme. If you're not a fan of Green Lantern, or you've just never been interested enough to pick up the book, this issue will make you want to!

Despite my excitement for Justice League Odyssey, the reality is quite disappointing. There are good ideas here, but the execution falls way short of the expectation " which is a shame considering the creative team was graced with an additional two months to take advantage of fine-tuning the script. I'm going to hope for improvement, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Justice League Odyssey #2 is definitely an improvement compared to its debut, but there are still some opportunities that need to be sorted through. While the plot and narrative as a whole are quite intriguing, the dialogue and script could stand to endure a little more work before publication.

If I had to some up this book, it would be, "Random space action with generic characters and poor execution." Take that as you will.

Midnighter delivers one hell of a debut that's sure to be a wild ride, led by a relatable character full of complexities! If you don't give this title a shot, then you're doing yourself a disservice.

Midnighter dips in quality for its second issue, but it still a solid book with endless potential" potential that I can't wait to see unfold over time.

Mirroring real life with many of its themes, Midnighter balances brutal violence with extreme heart to create one of the best books in comics today!

Orlando gets it right and knocks it out of the park! The Midnighter/ Grayson team-up is near perfection, as all of the pieces from each issue before this begin to fall into place.

Orlando completely nails Midnighter, and like his character, proves that he has everything under control. Midnighter is exciting, dramatic, fun, and heartfelt, but with a side of doesn't give a #&%*!

Midnighter is a bloody good time, and Orlando delivers every step of the way! If you want an all-encompassing book that will keep you invested, this is it!

Yet again, Orlando delivers a strong story full of action and suspense, while also managing to touch on the emotions and psyche of Midnighter. This issue has a little bit of everything, and should solidify current readers' loyalty to this book considering the amazing tease of future plots. It's clear Orlando is a big picture guy, so hopefully more people will pick up the book before it's too late, otherwise we're going to have another shameful incident where a quality book comes to an end way too soon (Gotham by Midnight, Valentine's Catwoman).

Between the paint-by-numbers plot that was regurgitated from recent issues, the lack of motivation in the characters and script, and Messina's super clean art, this issue feels like a neutered, watered down version of Midnighter. There was hardly any crass behavior we've come to know and expect from our favorite antihero. There's no killing or maiming. No smart ass remarks" What happened? This is easily the worst issue of the run, and could easily be skipped if not for a critical moment for Marina's arc, and meeting between Midnighter and Spyral during the last three pages.

Midnighter is a bloody, good time! Unfortunately, it's the best book that nobody is reading, so if you're reading this review, but not reading the book, then shame on you! Orlando continues to deliver a superb narrative that is enhanced by ACO's art as Midnighter continues to build upon itself. Root himself further into DC's mythology, Midnighter works with Spyral to confront Amanda Waller and the Suicide Squad, resulting in a comic that is sure to entertain all audiences.

Midnighter is a big middle finger to the status quo of super heroes, and that makes him awesome! It's a shame more people didn't give this book or character a fair shot, because he's hard not to enjoy. And when you can make the Suicide Squad look tame, you know you're a badass.

Midnighter and Apollo are together again, and holy crap is this issue a pleasure to read! Orlando continues to build this character and world, and in doing so, cements Midnighter's place in the DC Universe" so it's an utter shame this book is coming to a close! Hopefully people continue to catch on to how amazing this character is, and that he'll quickly re-emerge in Rebirth.

Midnighter attempts to manage some nice moments, but this issue ends up being a "set'em up, and knock'em down" narrative as Orlando and ACO try to resolve all of their loose ends in one issue. There are some shortcomings here, but there's also enough good to satisfy fans of the run, as well. Ultimately, I'm hoping to see Midnighter pop up in other books, even if it's as a supporting character. He deserves that much, at least.

As a product of "Milk Wars," Mother Panic/ Batman does exactly what it needs to do! The story is offbeat and connected to the arcing story, while also serving as a complete stand-alone read. Jody Houser deserves tons of kudos because that's not an easy feat to accomplish. Unfortunately, if this crossover does anything, it highlights the nagging problem with Mother Panic in its own respect " and that appears to be that DC seems too afraid to commit to what would make this book intriguing.

Upon reading the first few pages, I found myself wondering what I got myself into, but by the end of the issue, I wanted more. Mother Panic is dark, gruesome, graphic, and vulgar" and it's the perfect answer to readers who feel that the main titles are a little too "formula" or "safe" to fully meet your needs. Anything can happen here, and there doesn't appear to be a limit for the extremes of where the creative team is willing to go. Houser and Edwards don't even bother to ease you into their world either. You're thrown into the darkness whether you're ready or not, but I'll be damned if I didn't walk away from this book incredibly intrigued and curious. When it's said and done, after you finish Mother Panic you'll feel a little dirty and slightly guilty, but if vulgar, dark themes don't bother you, then you'll want more.

Mother Panic continues to deliver, and Houser is making it clear that she has a lot of characters and plots to cover. This issue slows the narrative down a little to focus a little more on character work, but also manages to create new mysteries and questions while answering a few as well. If there is going to be one thing that leads to this titles downfall, it will probably be the art" The irony is that the art is also one of its strongest attributes.

Mother Panic stumbles in this issue, but it hasn't completely dropped the ball. I'm not certain where the story will go from here because so much of the anticipation and suspense ends abruptly, and without much satisfaction. Perhaps a little more interaction with Mother Panic and the Bats will help redeem this title a little.

As quickly as Mother Panic built suspense and intrigue for me, it completely destroys it within the same amount of time. This issue is bad. I don't know what the cause is for the distinct and sudden changes, but it feels as though nobody is on the same page, and everyone is now half-assing their work. I'm not looking forward to the next chapter, because I'm afraid this title is going to sink even lower. This, ladies and gentlemen, is a prime example of "Broken Things."

Mother Panic had promise. Had being the key word. Now, the book is just a mess. The narrative is inconsistent, unfocused, and quite frankly, not worth your money. I'll be surprised if the title publishes more than twelve issues. I might actually look into trade waiting my reviews going forward.

Mother Panic continues to suffer from a number of problems " mostly relatability with readers " but manages to see a slight improvement this month! Hopefully this is the beginning of a positive trend, because I would greatly enjoy it if the script improved as John Paul Leon steps in to helm the art.

Surprisingly, Mother Panic returns to it's true form with this issue! I don't know what the "Pretty Arc" was all about, but the tone, writing, and style completely abandoned what had been established in the first three issues. This issue though" This feels like the real fourth issue, and John Paul Leon's art is a great counterpart to the script. If Mother Panic continues on this path, I'll look forward to reading it again!

Overall: This is a fun, action packed book that debuted to give us a fresh start, and readers deserve to do the same for this book. If you have reservations because of the previous Suicide Squad then let them go.

Overall: This issue definitely didn't let me down. I've been crazy busy this week, and this was the first thing I set down to read" It was a wonderfully fun and funny escape. While there wasn't much character depth, the characters themselves were fully represented despite all of the action. This issue built on the momentum of the previous issue, and is really showcasing the potential this book has. If you're not reading this book, give these first two issues a shot before you write it off. They might surprise you.

While this issues delivers a really nice moment, there's not much progression, and it's the weakest issue since the re-launch (I'm excluding the Future's End issue). The team will need to get in gear with issue #4, otherwise I think sales of this book will begin to drop pretty drastically. For my score, this book got a lift in points due to how the fight ends between Harley and Joker's Daughter. Had the actual execution of the fight been better, then my score would've been better. Much better.

I'm not providing a "good" and "bad" section, because most of what is available to call attention to without ruining any plot points in this story are listed above. If you're looking for an average adventure with "familiar" characters, then go ahead and pick up the issue. I'm warning you though, the art is going to leave you disappointed and craving something better.

Overall: This issue is titled "Defective," and that's exactly what it is" defective. If you're looking for a little edge, a little danger, and some villainy goodness, then check out Secret Six or Deathstroke. I wouldn't waste my money with this.

I can't support this book. I promise, I'm not in a bad mood, I'm just frustrated. I was a fan at the beginning of the re-launch, and was excited about where this book could go" but that excitement diminished quickly after two or three issues. At the beginning of the issue, it cites "DC Comics proudly presents New Suicide Squad." If I were DC, I wouldn't be proud of this (look below" Harley and Reverse Flash agree). I would want to scrap the current story, and bring in a really strong team to take over this book since it's about to get maximum exposure due to the film. I would be terrified if I knew that tons of people might check out this book based on the building hype of this brand.

This book continues to fall incredibly short of its potential. Even when I'm not a total champion of a title, I can usually find reasons to recommend them and feel good about doing so. I wouldn't, and I don't, stand behind this book in its current state. If you're going to throw down money for monthly issues, then you should get what you pay for. That won't happen here.

New Suicide Squad continues to drop in quality. What started off as a promising book, quickly went south in the art department, and the writing and storytelling have since followed suite. I can easily say that I find nothing redeeming in this book, and if I weren't reviewing this title, then I definitely would not be picking it up. I cringe at the fact that I pay to read it each month. And if I didn't read comics digitally, then I would take great pleasure in throwing this book in the trash after writing my review each month because that's what it is" garbage.

Montsers is by far Sean Ryan's best work to date, and its complimented nicely be equally as strong art from Briones. While I don't want to neglect the improvements Ryan has made, I still can't enthusiastically tell you to add this title to your rotation, but this issue is a step in the right direction.

Although New Suicide Squad is in its strongest arc yet, as long as Sean Ryan is writing this book, it will not reach its full potential. I'm sure Sean Ryan could be a great writer for one of DC's titles, but New Suicide Squad isn't that title, so unless you're a loyalist, I'd advise you support other books that deserve more support.

Sean Ryan's New Suicide Squad is nothing but cheap storytelling that lacks logic and intelligence. I know many of you love Harley, or are interested in this title due to the film, but I beg you not to pick up this title until a new writer comes on board. Seriously" do everyone a favor. Skip it.

Every few issues, Ryan improves his craft, and raises his own bar. The book is still far from great, but I am starting to wonder if " within time " Ryan might actually pull out a full arc that is good.

New Suicide Squad makes some positive gains while also falling back on some bad habits. I want to like this book, but no matter how hard I try, the execution is never as good as it should be. With the attention this title is getting, DC really needs to step of their game.

New Suicide Squad is ok compared to the standard Sean Ryan has set, but overall is just ok. I've been trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt lately, but now that his run is coming to an end in January, I just want to get to February.

Providing a great commentary on the current mindset of a majority of Americans, Ryan delivers one of his best moments yet. This book is still far from where it should be though, and the rest of this book is still average at best.

I can't wait until the debut of New Suicide Squad next month! Wait" What? There's already been 16 issues of this book? Sorry, that must have been wiped from my memory because it was bad.

Seeley's New Suicide Squad is a fun, well written, bundle of crazy, that delivers a strong foundation to build upon. If you've been avoiding the Suicide Squad brand, I strongly recommend checking out the work from this new team!

If this issue establishes anything, it's how good New Suicide Squad can be, and how good it should've been for years! Seeley creates a world that is engaging and entertaining, and it's something that I don't want to give up any time soon! The Squad put a plan into motion to make it look as though they lost their life so they could gain their freedom, and now they're having to fight for everything they've recently gained" their life!

So far this is my least favorite issue of Seeley and Ferreyra's New Suicide Squad. I don't want that to come across as an outright complaint though, because I still think it's head and shoulders above anything Sean Ryan ever presented. This issue just isn't as strong as the two previous issues. The action is great, but the rest is lacking compared to usual.

Brains, bullets, and bodies! Oh my! Seeley and Ferreyra continue to knock New Suicide Squad out of the park with a story that's as fun as it is violent! You never know what to expect with these two, and considering their overseeing an unpredictable group of misfits, the potential is endless. If you gave up on New Suicide Squad in the past, you should give this run a shot. It's worth it.

Seeley closes out the current arc with this issue, and the story is satisfying in almost every way. This is easily the best run for New Suicide Squad, and I'm going to be so sad to see this team go after next month's issue. The fact that DC would put Seeley and Ferreyra on this title for such a short time almost feels cruel, because I can't imagine another creative fitting as perfectly as these two do. Go pick up this issue/ run (whichever is relevant)! You'll be doing yourself a disservice if you don't!

In a surprising turn of events, Sean Ryan delivers an issue that focuses specifically on a character, and it isn't terrible. Moments of brilliance appear, but the issue is mostly clichd metaphors and predictable conclusions. Despite those downfalls, this is still a nice one-and-done read that is sure to satisfy any Harley fan.

Overall: I was really disappointed with this issue, and I'm honestly concerned about the direction that they plan on taking this book. Aside from Lawton's opening and closing piece, there's really nothing worthwhile here unless you want to see experiments gone wrong and clones having it out with one another. It's just not my cup of tea.

As far as holiday specials go, this is probably one of the best ones I've read from DC in a while. There's a range of tones and themes here " some heartfelt and others heartbreaking " that aren't necessarily what you would expect from a bunch of villains. There are multiple stories that are worth your time, and if you skipped this book on Wednesday " or just haven't given it a chance yet, I strongly encourage that you pick it up and give it a read.

Seeley delivers another solid chapter as he races to wrap up his run on Nightwing. The plots he's tasked to resolve compared to the issue count he's been given doesn't work in his favor, but he's handling it quite well. There are two major negatives here. One is the abundance of exposition, and the other is that Seeley doesn't get the time he deserves to tell these stories. But when the latter is one of the main opportunities of a book, it can't be that bad! With all of this exposition out of the way, Seeley appears to be set up for one hell of a conclusion next month, and you better believe I'm excited for it!

Nightwing #35 is a great time to jump on if you haven't been reading this title. Humphries and Chang appear to have an incredible story in the works that hits all the right marks for any Nightwing or comic fan as they bring Bludhaven to life in a way that feels fresh and original. Placing Dick in that world only accents and elevates him as a character. There's a ton of texture and characterization to be found here " both in the script and the art " so go pick it up!

This issue is a masterclass in execution, and the boldness of characters like the Judge and Guppy ensure the book will remain this way for some time!

This issue does nothing to progress the story, nor does it add any interesting elements. If anything, I feel it diminishes the quality of Humphries current story. Because of this, I'd recommend you skip this issue, and use the money to check out one of the new titles DC is dropping this month.

An improvement on the previous installment's flashback, Nightwing #38 returns to the quality storytelling we received initially. Unfortunately, the damage of that flashback issue lingers a bit here, and a combination of too many focuses and improper emphasis muddle what could have been a great issue. This chapter isn't bad, it's just good. Tighten up the details, and I'd have easily given this issue another two points.

Is Nightwing #39 worth your time and money? Sure. There's plenty to take away and enjoy form this chapter, but the story isn't without its problems. The highlights here are easily Phil Jimenez's art and the revelations that come to light about the Judge and who he really is. This story has (had?) a lot of potential, but the uneven execution is hindering its success more than anything. With barely any plot progression, and a slew of new questions coming into play, I do have concerns that Humphries will be able to successfully wrap everything concerning Dick, the Judge, the Limousine Assassins, Elise Svoboda, Guppy, and Baby Ruthless"

Nightwing #40 is" ok. When all is said and done, the entire chapter feels like a lot of regurgitation to fill a mandated issue order for this arc. Beyond that, we run into the familiar problem of pacing and emphasis " opportunities that are unfortunately becoming the expectation. Humphries has developed great supporting characters, a strong, interesting villain, and an interpretation of Bludhaven that feels more like a character than I can ever recall it being" and somehow, still, the story is just "ok." I can't help but feel that had a little more planning and attention to detail gone into the narrative early on, Nightwing: The Untouchables would have been excellent instead of mediocre.

"The Untouchable" improves on its previous issue to end on a better note, but I'm not certain I'd classify it as a high note. There are many opportunities in this arc, and the finale adds to that a bit due to predictability " something Humphries hasn't struggled with up to this point. Ultimately, those opportunities are minor though, and this story has more than enough fun and mystery to warrant a read if you have some spare time and money.

I have no doubt that some people will enjoy Nightwing #42. There isn't much weight to it, and the heavy action will allow for a quick, exciting read for select audiences " something many readers may desire following the arc with the Judge. It has an interesting presentation, but I felt like the writers were heavily influenced by lackluster Bruce Lee films and some Marvel Netflix series" I'll be honest though, it's way more Iron Fist than Daredevil, and we all know how these two series rank in comparison" If I had a choice, I'd skip this issue.

Is this the best Nightwing story? No, but this is a simple story that's a ton of fun. While that may not sound like much to some people, it means the world to me! The banter between Dick, Damian, and Roy is a blast to read, and rings true to how my friends and I tease each other. For me, this was the perfect tone to present before jumping into an arc!

Another new creative team, another run for Nightwing. This issue doesn't start as strong as I'd like, but it still has plenty to enjoy.

Ben Percy's second dip into Nightwing is a little more interesting as far as plot is concerned, but his themes and social commentary is extremely heavy-handed. Add to that the fact that Dick Grayson's voice isn't found anywhere in the script, and I'm left with the realization that this isn't a Nightwing story, but instead, a commentary on technology and it's negative impacts that Ben Percy feels he needs to tell at the expense of our title character" I know we're only two issues in, but I really hope this is just a situation where Percy is only writing one arc, and DC is waiting in the wings with the announcement of the real, full-time creative team.

Can we just move on? I'm not saying I want Percy gone just yet, but I'm definitely ready to move past this story. If I'm being completely transparent though, Percy needs to deliver with the next story or people will most definitely drop Nightwing from their pull list.

If you haven't been following this arc, then don't bother looking into it. There's nothing worthwhile here, and you don't even get a completely story. Multiple plots fizzle out without any sort of conclusion, and you can't even look back on a portion of the story to say, "Well this is a nice moment." It's just nonsense.

While the script for this issue isn't necessarily a dumpster fire like the previous issues, it's still a steaming pile of poop. There's no set-up, no substance, and no payoff in any way. There's also no characterization, and great characters like Silencer, Pyg, and Flamingo are misrepresented and completely underused. In fact, the thing this story reminds me of more than anything is Anne Nocenti's "Race of Thieves" from Catwoman. That story was also awful.

This issue is far from perfect, but it does play out much better than previous attempts from Ben Percy. The death race is a fun, wild ride that should entertain most readers, and I'm happy to say that the presentation of the characters actually feels like it's on point. Logic and convenient, unbelievable progression hinder the story a bit. Depending on how forgiving you are, these moments might be easy to write off, but even then, it'll be hard to deny that the ending of this chapter basically makes the entire story pointless.

On one hand, this is an excellently written, engaging and captivating script. Had this been a story about Jason Todd, or perhaps a new character that is an immigrant taxi driver who is fed up with the chaos of Gotham, I would have given this book a 9/10, easy. But this isn't a book about Jason Todd or a new character that's an immigrant who is a taxi driver that is fed up with Gotham" This is a book about Dick Grayson, Nightwing, the first Robin, and everything about this story is the opposite of what this book and character should be. So, if you care about Dick Grayson/ Nightwing as a character" Please don't but this book. Let your money talk, and demand that DC respect the characters you love.

If this arc of Nightwing does anything, it fundamentally highlights some of the major problems facing the comic book industry at the moment. 1. Publishers clearly don't plan stories well, or simply don't carry out plans. 2. They're completely disconnected from their audiences " not that comics should be a complete fan service. 3. They're losing grasp of the core, fundamental elements of their characters. I urge you to pass on this book. Pass on this run. Go find an indie comic to support or check something else out, because this is a nightmare.

I can't bring myself to recommend Nightwing at the moment, and that's odd because I've spent year insisting people check the book out. But this is not Nightwing, so don't waste your time" Unless you have nothing better to do.

Nightwing #53 continues to improve on the current problem " aka: this isn't Nightwing " and introduces some interesting ideas. Unfortunately, what this issue really does is prove why it's important for publishers to actually plan their stories before jumping into them. This could have been a great story that actually featured Nightwing with strong supporting characters that are based on the new characters at play here " Ric and Sapienza " but instead, we're getting a rushed, mess of a story that has been inconsistent every step of the way " both in the script and visual presentation.

Nightwing is a dumpster fire. Period. Whatever hope this arc had at remotely telling an intriguing story " despite my dislike for the vehicle chosen to tell it " quickly crumbles away due to repetition and inconsistency. I don't see much reason to read Nightwing until everything returns to normal. And honestly, if I could drop it, I would.

I said I wanted to throw this book into the toilet and keep flushing until it turned into a soggy, disintegrated mess that got sucked down into the pits of the sewer system" How do you think I feel about this book?

DC continues to destroy the Nightwing brand, and that's a shame considering they've spent the last decade crafting stories that have really brought Dick into his own. This story is a mess with poor characters, a worse script, and a sorry excuse for a plot that is so inconsistent it's embarrassing. Hopefully, this will end soon, because I have no desire to continue reading this title at the moment.

Don't be confused. I still hate this entire Ric Grayson approach, however, Nightwing #57 offers some really nice character moments that I can't really knock. Ric takes a back seat as Beatrice and the Nightwings take the spotlight, and there genuinely is some good work here.

This isn't working. DC needs to cut their losses and just move on. There hasn't been a quality writer on this book since Tim Seeley. Not only is that a shame, but it's also insulting and disrespectful to treat a character that's been around for nearly 80 years this way. If you're not a fan of this experiment, then please don't support it with your money.

Dan Jurgens brings a much stronger voice to Nightwing, but Ric Grayson is still a huge miss as far as I'm concerned. The experiment had some potential, but that potential was squandered with the series spent months wasting the opportunity it was trying to create. At this point, I really wish DC would just cut their losses and move on, but I don't expect that will happen anytime soon. In fact, we might as well get used to Greasy Grayson sticking around for the remainder of the year.

There's nothing new here. Ric Grayson is" Ric Grayson. At this point, you have creative teams inside and outside of DC taking jabs at how awful this entire concept is, so you would think that DC would just move on" Unfortunately, they're not, and we have to continue enduring this generic slum of mediocrity that often dips down into the low levels of bad. But hey, at least we have Nightwing Prime and Nightwing Red now"

Nightwing #61 feels like a “been there, done that” because that's essentially what 75% of the book is" a regurgitation of story and formula from the past two or three issues. There are a few moments that are ok, but mostly the book gets in its own way because DC insists on recapping the story in the opening pages of each chapter" It's not worth your time or money, and it's going to make an incredibly trying read once collected. You can skip this and thank me later.

Once again, DC appears to be tripping over dollars to pick up pennies. They were so desperate to make Dick different in an attempt to make him interesting, and this issue continues to prove that they're not really doing anything different with him at all. The sad thing is, if you're going to create an experiment like this, then you need to go for it. Don't get cold feet and half-ass your attempt. Go big or go home.

Nightwing Annual #1 is a poorly written book that leans heavily on fan-service to create intrigue rather than just telling a good story with well-written characters. Take away the fan-service, and you're left with a shell of a plot that honestly feels more like propaganda than an actual story.

Punchline is definitely a James Tynion book. By that, I mean that it is a misguided, overwritten mess that continues to yell to readers that "Punchline is awesome," but we still haven't gotten anything to really support that argument. Alexis' origin as Punchline doesn't really hold-up, and the inclusion of Harper, Cullen, and Leslie Thompkins is" odd. I wanted to like this, and the premise itself is solid enough, but the execution leaves so much to be desired.

Just cancel this book" and stop giving Lobdell work. He's driven everything he's touched into the ground since the launch of the New 52.

Red Hood finally looks as though it will return to it's better days by bringing Artemis and Bizarro back into the fold. While that excites me, this story is just ok. Lobdell starts the book off strong, but after taking time to establish the story, he's forced to rocket through the rest of the narrative, leaving out most of the set-up. It's entertaining, but the substance is lacking. In the end, it's just a decently weird story. Forgettable? Perhaps, but at least it wasn't boring or bad.

If this book just featured the Grayson story, I would give it an 8/10. But since there are two other stories that didn't really catch my attention, I have to give this a

Simone delivers a New 52 version of Secret Six that will satisfy fans new and old. If you're on the fence, then pick up the issue! You'll be glad you did.

This is a nice installment that builds on its previous issue, and does a lot to progress the story while opening up new questions. Was it worth the wait? I would say yes! Simone is a masterclass at writing interesting characters and ensembles, and she's only getting better.

Secret Six makes its return from hibernation with an interesting choice of direction. Simone seems to be embracing the crazy with this team, and she waves the diversity flag with enthusiasm here. While I'm concerned that this won't resonate as strongly with a majority of readers, I thought it was a damn fine issue.

The politics behind the scenes of this book are digging a fast grave for Secret Six. I don't know any details, but it's evident, and DC needs to fix it if they plan on having an audience stick around. And shame on Jim Chadwick for letting this happen! After months of delays, there shouldn't be any issues that are this blatantly obvious. As hard as it is for me to say this, the creative team and DC need to get it together, or just cancel the book.

This is easily the worst issue of Secret Six to date. For many people, I think this issue might be the straw that breaks the camel's back, and forces readers to drop this title for another title. I hope that isn't the case because I feel like this book has a lot of potential, but sometimes the time just isn't right.

Secret Six is a mess, and while I think there's still potential here, the creative team needs to hurry up and move past this arc to refocus and regroup.

Simone and team have been fumbling for months now, and desperately needed to find their footing. This issue does just that, and will hopefully be the first of many to build momentum for this title. This book finally has a direction and a purpose, two things that, along with the already great characters, will drive this book's success for a good while!

Simone is finally delivering on what we all hoped this book would be! There's still room for improvement, but so far this arc of Secret Six is leaps and bounds better than the first arc.

Secret Six continues to revel in its own weird insanity, and nearly every bit of that insanity is absolutely enjoyable. This issue had a few hiccups and pacing issues, but ultimately delivered and continued to push this book in the right direction.

As brilliant as this issue is, it's unfortunately tainted by a poor close to the arc. I can't stress how painful that is for me. There's great action, great character work, and the team functions extremely well as a unit here. Despite the quality writing and the terrific set-up for future issues, the one thing that's glaring at me is the ending.

This is a fun issue that focuses on the characters and their relationships. With a solid Batgirl cameo, and the build up to Strix and the Secret Six (with Batgirl) versus Shiva" It's near perfection!

Once again, this book disappoints me, and it's based off of some really poor decisions. If I had to make an assessment of why this book keeps falling short, I would say that Simone's heart isn't into it. There's no validation for that comment, but aside from some brief moments throughout the current run, there just doesn't appear to be much passion behind the writing" and it shows. At this point, I'm just hoping that the books improves slightly to end on a higher note.

Secret Six continues the trend of being an equal combination of entertaining and frustrating. Every time this book builds some momentum, it gets in its own way. Whenever the narrative and writing is good, its followed by something bad. Moral of the story: Secret Six gives you whiplash.

As with the entire series, there are some highs and lows in this final issue. While Strix knocked this story out of the park for me, everything else left me quite unsatisfied"

Concerning the story, I was disappointed with this issue after Suicide Squad's Forever Evil run. Out of all of the Forever Evil tie-ins, I felt Suicide Squad was one of the stronger, more consistent stories, until this issue. If you didn't read it, then you should because it was a fun ride (and contained the best depiction of Powergirl that I've seen in the New 52). I honestly can't help but feel that this issue was changed at the last minute, because it's just so jarringly different than what previously happened. There's no sign of Harley. No Boomerang or James Gordon Jr., and this whole issue is really nothing but exposition to set up the New Suicide Squad. I don't mind exposition, but the plot points felt lazy and convenient. And in a story about that is supposed to be dealing with consequences, it feels like there were none. I easily would have preferred an actual close to the Forever Evil arc, and then had this issue as a #0 issue.

There are highs and lows throughout this issue, but Williams and Fabok's short-form "Never Miss" only makes the shortcomings of Williams and Lee's "The Black Vault" glaringly obvious. While I don't find this issue to be terrible, I really hope the arcing story makes up some ground in issue number 2. With such a short number of pages to hook readers and bring them back each issue, the main creative team is going to need to deliver a hell of a punch of quality, and fast. The main narrative was lucky to have such a flawless supporting story to back it up!

Whatever negative thoughts you had about Suicide Squad coming into this issue, go ahead and just throw it out the window. It doesn't matter anymore! Maybe Williams and Lee knew they'd have to deliver a game changer at this moment because of their story structure, or maybe this issue really is a natural result of story progression" Either way, Suicide Squad #2 delivers in ways I never expected it would! Buckle up kids. This book is a crazy, wild ride!

This is a great short story! I wish we could go back in time and have Rob Williams write the Katana mini instead of Barr, and let him tell "Choose" over the course of six issues! It would've served as the perfect set-up for Suicide Squad, and would have prevented Katana's brand from being tarnished by poor storytelling. I don't want to complain though. I'm happy with this story, and I'm glad it showcases Katana in a light that she deserves!

Although this issue takes a slight step down in quality this week, it's still high energy and completely entertaining. If Williams and Lee have been delivering a winning formula for you so far, then this is sure to satisfy you as well.

"Shock Treatment" is easily the most gripping chapter of Suicide Squad's main story since its Rebirth special. There isn't much action here, nor is there much plot progression, but there's a whole lot of set-up and character development. Once you add in Hack's character spotlight " a story that add great intrigue to the main, arcing narrative " you're left with a real treat. I'm more excited for the future of Suicide Squad than I've ever been, and you should be as well.

When you break this issue down, there's a whole lot of conflict, and not much else" but damn is it enjoyable! I wasn't too familiar with William's work prior to this, but he's made me believer. He has a clear plot, but balances a number of genres and tones within each issue. This is the Suicide Squad that I've been waiting for, and it's definitely a must-read. If you've been skipping out on this wild ride, then you're missing out!

While fun, the main narrative didn't necessarily hit all of the right notes in this issue. It was a great chapter to temporarily pull us from the action and direness of what's taking place, but I'll be ready for things to "return to normal" next week. Granted, when dealing with Suicide Squad, I'm not completely sure what normal is" and I wouldn't have it any other way. The real win for this issue though, is June Moon's spotlight, "Trapped." This narrative reveals enough about her character that it will leave you expecting more from her in future chapters.

For me, Suicide Squad is the book that will please any comics fan. Considering the action, character work, humor, and multiple plot threads, there's hardly anything left to be desired (except for maybe some romance, but that appears to be in the works). If you're a comic fan and you're not reading this run, then you're doing yourself a disservice.

There are many aspects worth enjoying, and a few that highlight the issues of this event. Williams delivers great dialogue alongside a decent story, but the glossed over details might leave you wanting more.

One key factor that has led to Williams' success with Suicide Squad, is balance. He manages to balance everything beautifully " the action, characters, plot progression" Every aspect of this title is thought out, and executed well. With roughly ten characters to juggle, and multiple, big, high-action, plots (including an "event"), he somehow manages to keep his narrative grounded. Unlike many writers and stories being published at the moment, Williams has a long-term vision, and it shows. I'll be a happy man if he continues with the title for the next few years. Suicide Squad needs that kind of direction, and more importantly, it deserves it.

Suicide Squad #11 isn't the best issue, but what Williams accomplishes is needed. All of the reintroductions to various plots help refocus the narrative, while the character spotlights give us, the readers, a chance to breathe before jumping into the chaos and action again. The cliff hanger at the end though, that could leave people talking for years to come!

The real gem of this issue, is the back-up story. Yes, some substantial plot development occurs in the main story involving Rustam, but I honestly wasn't too fond of this. The back-up, which puts the Squad front and center, is where all of the magic happens! Williams has a winning formula (great characters + a well-planned plot + consequences) continue to drive this book, and leave me anxious for more each and every issue!

Suicide Squad is easily one of the best books being released by DC at the moment. If you haven't been reading the title, I urge you go pick up the first trade, but do so knowing that that story is just scratching the surface. This issue continues so much of what's been building for months/ weeks, the result feels incredibly satisfactory!

Williams continues his warpath with Suicide Squad, and if you've been reading since the beginning, you have to feel as though you're receiving quite the pay-off. This specific issue " while containing many incredible moments " ends a little sub-par compared to what we're used to. I think the true test will be to see what happens in this title following this arc.

I'm a huge fan of Suicide Squad, and an even bigger fan of Rob Williams! He consistently delivers well thought stories, and I want to hug him because he carries character arcs and progression from one story to the next. If you're looking for a book you can invest in, then Suicide Squad is definitely one that will deliver. I'd be willing to bet Williams has a three to five year plan, and I sincerely hope I get to witness his full story unfold!

Seriously, pass on watching Suicide Squad the movie, and pick up the book. It contains a better, more intelligent plot, great characterization, and WAY more moral ambiguity. Under Willams' and Daniel's direction, Suicide Squad is fun, action packed, suspenseful, and rewarding. What are you waiting for? Go get it!

Does this chapter of Suicide Squad deliver in the same way that recent issues did? No. Despite that, this is still a fun, action packed, high energy issue that sits perfectly in the over-arching narrative that Williams is crafting.

Despite some minor missteps early in the issue, Williams turns everything around to give Suicide Squad #19 an incredible finish! I'm highly critical with the books I review, and Suicide Squad is no exception. My complaints here are nit-picks, and not much else. If you've been reading the title, continue to do so. If you haven't given Rob Williams' Suicide Squad a chance, then I urge you to do so.

If there's one thing that's certain, you can always count on Suicide Squad for an entertaining read. Whether it be full of action, character focused, or a little wacky, Williams is sure to deliver. Add to that guarantee by enhancing Williams' script with art as beautiful as Sejic's and you're blessed with an amazing gift! Go get this issue! If you haven't been reading Suicide Squad, I highly recommend catching up. If you don't have the time or funds to catch up, this could be a decent starting point. Either way, this is a book you need to be reading!

Williams fumbles a little with this issue. There are certain concepts that are great, and others that feel a little forced. Overall, "The Entrance Fee" doesn't meet the quality we've come to expect from Suicide Squad, but in comparison, it is still better than a number of books currently being released by DC at the moment. My excitement my be a little deflated at the moment, but that doesn't mean I'm not optimistic about what's to come!

Another issue of Suicide Squad and, unfortunately, another slight misstep. The further we fall into a narrative where we're forced to believe Harley can actually function as a leader, the more this book will unravel. No, it's not a terrible story, but it could definitely lead to one. Fortunately we have Waller and her confrontation with Karla to save the day! That alone " along with the consequences that will undoubtedly unfold from this chapter " are reason enough to pick it up.

Based on what I know from this issue, I'd say skip it. I know, I know" It pains me to say that, but I feel like everything you need to know from this issue will be recapped in two weeks. There's really nothing worth sinking your teeth into, and I doubt anything major will unfold from these events. If you do decide to purchase Suicide Squad #23, it'll need to be for one redeeming moment with Batman.

There are many solid moments in this issue, but where there are highs, there are also lows. Williams turns "Kill Your Darlings" on its head with this issue, and I genuinely hope that it is the first step in returning to the quality we've come to expect. He's set up a number of arcs though, and I have a sinking suspicion that what's left of them will be rushed through. Only time will tell.

Readers and fans should be pissed. With one issue, Williams completely undoes everything that's been building for more than a year now. All of my praise about Williams' ability to play into consequences" Yeah, I take that back. All of it! If you're reading trades, stop with the Zod arc. Just stop there. "Kill Your Darlings," specifically this issue, is insanely frustrating for anyone who feels invested in the narrative.

Rob Williams delivers a solid chapter of "Gotham Resistance" that balances a number of plots and characters quite well! There's humor, action, suspense, and heart, all of which are accompanied by Sejic's impeccable art. There are some low parts in the issue and arcing story " mainly stemming from a lack of knowledge concerning the Batman Who Laughs and his pet Robins " but I ultimately find this to be a redeeming read if you're already invested in Metal and all of its tie-ins.

Williams returns to form with this chapter of Suicide Squad, and I couldn't be happier! This issue is high energy, a lot of fun, and contains quite a few laughs as well! It's nice to see the characters represented so well after an arc of questionable plots and decisions, but this turn makes everything feel right again. And if this wasn't exciting enough, Williams introduces us to a new mystery while teasing a number of characters!

We learn quite a bit of information in this issue, but don't make much progress concerning the plot. The combination of the abundance of exposition, questionable characterization, and lack of fulfilling action or story make Suicide Squad #28 a rather boring read. It's not bad, just boring.

Suicide Squad #29 isn't without its faults, but it is a fun book to read! Williams is reverting back to his approach that made Suicide Squad a fun and engaging story to read at the launch of Rebirth. If there is one downfall here, it's Barnaby Bagenda's art. Other than that, this issue is well worth your time and money.

Suicide Squad #30 is a cheesy, but fun, action-packed romp about space. Whether you like this story or not will mostly depend on whether you like the idea of the Suicide Squad in space. I'm not the biggest fan of this concept, but even I have to admit there's plenty of entertainment to be had here.

Part 5 of "The Secret History of Task Force X" fumbles hard! With major pacing issues already plaguing the story, the narrative becomes even worse when new plot developments completely undermine a large reason this story even exists. I'm not sure what happened with Williams following the General Zod arc, but his work just hasn't been the same since. It's too bad because Suicide Squad was one of the most engaging stories to come out of Rebirth.

If you've been reading "The Secret History of Task Force X," then you might as well finish the arc. If you haven't, I'd say this story is quite skippable. The narrative just isn't cohesive enough or focused to allow for a strong execution. If there's one thing this issue does do well, it's that it sets up the title for a bit of a fresh starting point. And we all know it could use it!

Tom Taylor has a knack for balancing bombastic action and intimate, character-driven storytelling, and he delivers that combo incredibly well here. Then, to make it even better, all of it is elevated brilliantly by Bruno Redondo's art. With their Suicide Squad, you get all of the action and adventure you expect, and all the character development and relationship work that probably has no right to pop up in a book about criminals being used by the U.S. government" But damn am I happy this thing exists!

Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo deliver another stellar issue of Suicide Squad. The book is smartly written, incredibly engaging, and chock full of twists and turns that will keep you on your toes while also, somehow, continuing to hit personal, emotional beats as well.

When all is said and done, this is a solid issue, but it is very transitional. You need these moments in stories though, and while it may feel like a drop in quality for the issue itself, it will benefit the title as a whole when collected. I always welcome character development and have a much stronger appreciation for Osita and the Revolutionaries because of this issue. Then there's Captain Boomerang, who creates quite a bang with his return! Literally...

Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo shift gears in Suicide Squad #6, taking the team to Gotham City to" deliver a comedic issue? That can't be right. Can it? Gotham City? Suicide Squad? Comedy? Should those three concepts work together? In the modern-day depictions that we're used to? No, probably not. However, this issue is executed incredibly well, and I'd be lying if I didn't say I was highly entertained from start to finish! Also, there's a puppy! SOLD!

Tom Taylor and team continue to prove that Suicide Squad is the book to read at DC Comics! Packed full of strong characterization, action, plot twists, and emotional beats galore, this is easily one of the most balanced and engaging books hitting shelves right now. This issue, in particular, is a heartfelt gem that focuses on Deadshot and the person who is his reason for existence, his daughter.

Overall, Suicide Squad #8 is a solid read. There's good character work with Wink and Aerie, and Taylor reveals the direction we will be heading to close out the book. Aside from feeling the effects of ending the book early, my only criticism here are some clunky lines drawing attention to political situations. I don't mind when writers do this, but the instances of it in this issue could have been executed with a little more grace.

Suicide Squad #9 is a solid read that begins to wrap things up for Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo's run. There are some truly shocking moments in the issue, and it's honestly a shame that DC couldn't just let fans experience it.

Suicide Squad #10 had the odds stacked against it because of the title's unceremonious cancelation, but despite that, Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo still manage to deliver one hell of a fun read! There's action, laughs, and even some twists. All this issue really does is serve as a reminder of how much it sucks that we're losing a great title that had endless potential.

Suicide Squad is a short, yet strong, run from Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo. With the title ending early for reasons other than story and sales, the team had to rush to a conclusion, but despite the hiccups that would naturally create, the book still managed to tell a satisfying, complete story. Is it perfect? No. But there are plenty of moments that are incredible throughout the run that it deserves your attention.

Will this book be a game changer for Deadshot? No. But that being said, it's a lot of fun, and a nice change of pace from what we've come to expect from this character. If you want a high energy books with a solid script and a lot of action, this is worth picking up!

If you're a fan of Katana, or curious to learn more about her due to the characters upcoming role in the new Suicide Squad movie, or perhaps even the television show Arrow, please avoid this book! It'll leave a bad taste in your mouth. Instead, check out the first volume of Birds of Prey or Geoff John's Justice League of America. I also recommend picking up Outsiders (pre New 52).

Buccellato and Bogdanovic carry on, guns a blazing, as they dive deeper into Deadshot's history and personal life. Suicide Squad's Most Wanted: Deadshot lives in a heap of moral ambiguity, and challenges your idea of what's acceptable, or right or wrong. If the team continues to deliver on this level, this will become required reading for Deadshot fans.

Katana is still really rough, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. Despite the positive aspects of this issue, the book still falls incredibly short of where it could and should be.

This book is turning out to be one of the nicer surprises to come from DC recently! I say this each month, but it's a shame that it's tied to a book as poor as Katana. I feel like this title would be receiving more attention if it were being released on its own.

Honestly, save your money. These issues aren't worth the cover price. Just wait for the trade and buy Suicide Squad: Black when it's collected in trade format. I'm afraid that if you buy the monthly floppies, you'll only encourage DC to continue creating these brand damaging stories for Katana.

Suicide Squad: Get Joker is a mixed back through and through. There are some incredible elements and angles that I find generally intriguing, but I wish another writer had taken the reigns other than Azzarello. Azzarello writes with a heavy hand and a desperation to be taken seriously. It's a shame too because when he doesn't try so hard, the book is actually damn good. It starts and ends incredibly strong, but the pages in between leave a lot to be desired. Thankfully they're illustrated beautifully by Alex Maleev and Matt Hollingsworth.

Tonally, if you picked up the debut of The Suicide Squad: Get Joker then you should know whether or not this book, generally, is your cup of tea or not. Structurally, I wasn't overly impressed with this issue. Azzarello spends quite a bit of time focusing on character development, but there honestly isn't much time for that. Maleev's art is also hit and miss here " especially during the action sequences. With one issue left, I don't have much confidence that we'll get a strong finish to the title.

While War Crimes doesn't meet the prestige of Ostrander's original run, it's still extremely satisfying. It's a pleasant read for any fan, but I would most likely recommend this issue as an introduction for people who aren't familiar with Suicide Squad. In fact, this would be perfect for fans that want to transition from the film to comics. Regardless of the bracket you group yourself in, this is still a solid issue, and an incredibly entertaining read!

I adore Super Sons as a book, but "Secret Headquarters" went way beyond my expectation! The relationships of Bruce and Clark, their self-awareness, their relationships with their sons, and Damian and Jon's relationship with each other is absolutely infectious! If I had to use one word to describe the issue, it would have to be "fun-credible" because there isn't a single word to give this chapter justice. Go get this issue! Enjoy it. Laugh. And thank DC Comics for making something this fun a reality" And Mr. Tomasi, if you see this, kudos, sir! This book is an absolute gift to anyone who reads it!

Teen Titans "Aftermath" is one bad play after another. Lobdell continues his trademark of sending books to their grave, and this is no different. At this point, I feel like DC needs to drop Teen Titans, run with Titans Hunt, and let Teen Titans lay low for a good while.

Teen Titans #15 is a transitional issue that does nothing for a book that is already self-imploding. I know Pak is going to take over in March, but I strongly feel like the damage will have been done, and that there will be no coming back from this mess. Go ahead and mark this as two failed attempts at a Teen Titans book within roughly four years. DC, if you're smart, you'll cancel the book, and let it rest for a while. Time a re-launch with that Titans tv series that's supposed to come out" Trust me, just do it.

Pfeifer manages to knock out some of the mess that has plagued Teen Titans for a few months now, and deliver an issue that has an entertaining action sequence. Unfortunately, those pages are only "good" at best, and the rest of the book lands in or near the "bad" territory. I know Pak is coming in next month, but I don't think I'll look forward to this title again until whatever's taking place in June occurs" and even then, the verdict will still be out.

Teen Titans #18 isn't a home-run, but it is still a rather enjoyable read. The Puppeteer is fun as a villain, even if she's a bit predictable, but it's the themes found in Percy's script that make this issue worthwhile. A subtle commentary on teens, their desire for attention, struggle with authenticity, and projection of themselves for protection, is moving and great. I hope to see more of this next month!

If you thought Teen Titans would be a bleak, angsty book, the rest assured that's not the case. Instead, this is a diverse book that features a range of emotions, tones, and genres, and it deserves your attention.

Adam Glass delivers another solid issue of Teen Titans. While the script isn't perfect " in fact, it bogs quite a bit halfway through before finishing on a high note " it still serves as a satisfying read. Roundhouse and Djinn provide some great developments that continue to add texture and layers to the arc, while Bernard Chang and Marcelo Maiolo seal the deal with dynamic, engaging art! If you haven't given Teen Titans a proper chance, then you need to rethink that decision. If this creative team has proven anything, it's that you only think you have this book figured out!

Adam Glass and Bernard Chang deliver another solid issue of Teen Titans. The book isn't afraid to touch on serious topics without ever taking itself too seriously, or driving the narrative to such a dark place that it's impossible to enjoy. In the end, the book is a good example of balance that only grows in potential with each issue.

Teen Titans isn't a terrible book, but it does need to decide which story it wants to tell, as well as the audience it's intended to target. I can't help but feel that Adam Glass and Bernard Chang had a grasp on this, but potentially faced interference after complaints from fans concerning darker tones in the beginning. It feels very similar to what's taking place with Nightwing this week. Here's my opinion on this" Stick to your plan. Even when I don't like an idea, I'd rather see that idea fulfilled than abandoned part of the way through the story. Why? Because more often than not, no matter how much I may dislike an idea, abandoning said idea before completing it tends to result in a product that is even worse" Teen Titans has potential, but DC/ Glass and Chang need to let it be what it could be if they want to reach that potential.

I have no doubt that this will be a controversial issue. Adam Glass does not deliver the Teen Titans story we've come to expect, but I believe he delivers the Teen Titans story we need.

Honestly, this entire story is skippable, especially this issue. The payoff isn't here, and comparing "The Lazarus Contract" to "The Judas Contract" only makes it even worse. DC gets a big thumbs down for this story. When there's no point to a story, then there's no point to read that story.

Overall: Morrison delivers a bold, complex and layered story that is over-the-top and grounded all at the same time. When Morrison shines, he really shines. Unfortunately, his storytelling is unfocused, and reminiscent of a kid in a candy store, with too many ideas to fit in one plot.

Overall: What The Multiversity #2 lacked in depth and weight compared to some of it's previous issues, it easily made up for in engaging action, fast paced plots, thought provoking commentaries, and a desire to read more. This is definitely required reading for any seasoned comic book fan!

I like darker, edgier, more thought provoking comics, and that is exactly what you get here. I know it's not everyone's preference, but the commentary that this book covers makes it a required reading in my eyes, and is sure to be considered a classic in the years to come.

While this didn't quite pack the punch that Pax Americana did for me, its a close second. It was a damn good issue that will leave you wanting more!

While the characters are top notch, and worth reading, Morrison definitely played it a little safe with this issue regarding the plot, but I'm ok with that. If you're expecting another earth shattering, crazy, intense story like the first issue, you might be disappointed. I found Morrison's Multiversity debut a manic mess, that was inconsistent and all over the place. This delivery, however, is focused and highlights some of Morrison's strengths, which will make you wish you could see a little more of these characters and this world every month.
