Inferno Girl Red #2 brings a realistic spin on the teenage superhero trope and continues to raise the storytelling bar for the Massiveverse. I can't wait to see how the third and final issue wraps things up, as well as what the creators have planned for Cassia Costa's future.

Radiant Pink #3 explores the ups and downs of love while also keeping up its world-hopping chaos fueling the plot. When all is said and done, this continues to be one of the more relatable comics on the stands todayat least where I'm concerned. It's also such a great read.

Spawn: Unwanted Violence #2boasts some of the most stunning artwork ever put to a page, but that doesn't make up for its convoluted and disappointing story. I understand what McFarlane was going for, and I understand his dedication to his creation, but this is one time he should have loosened the metaphorical chains.

Immoral X-Men #1showcases that Mister Sinister's worst enemy is himself as the Quiet Council starts to show signs of rebellion.

Superman #1 lays the groundwork for a new era in the Man of Steel's career as he faces off against new foes while still continuing to fight for truth, justice, and a better tomorrow. Anyone complaining that there aren't any great Superman stories should pick this issue up, because it'll definitely change their tune.

DC Power: A Celebration #1 turns a spotlight on the Black heroes inhabiting the DC Universe, with a collective of Black creators at the helm. Hopefully, this isn't a one-and-done deal, as I'd love to see the spotlight turned on even more Black heroes. It truly lives up to its name of being a celebration.

Sins of Sinister #1more than lives up to its name, as the mad scientist rewrites the Marvel Universe in his own image. This comic proves that the Age of Krakoa still has plenty of gas in the tank, especially with creators like Gillen and Werneck at the helm. But it's only the beginning, as the following weeks bring new glimpses into this strange and twisted world.

Avengers: War Across Time #1is both a well-crafted throwback to the Avengers' glory days and a reminder of the menace Kang the Conqueror poses. With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniaset to position Kang as a significant threat in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this series is an excellent introduction to his character.

Radiant Pink #2 delivers an emotional, trippy ride as its titular heroine loses herself throughout time and space. It's extremely relatable and utterly chaotic, and if you aren't picking up this book or any of the other Massiveverse titles, you're missing out on something special.

Timeless (2022) #1puts Kang the Conquerer through the wringer while also setting up Marvel's wave of stories for 2023. It's only fitting that one of the last comics of the year focuses on a time travel odyssey, and the last page teases that Kang's journey is far from over. Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if this is a recurring tradition with Marvel.

MMPR/TMNT II #1 delivers an opening chapter that reunites the teenagers with attitude and the heroes in a half shell. Just from this issue alone, the comic looks to be even crazier than the first MMPR/TMNT seriesand considering everything that happened in that one, that's saying something. But you know what? I welcome it.

Thanos: Death Notes #1paints a compelling chronicle of the Mad Titan's history, and sets the stage for his future exploits.

X-Treme X-Men #1is a blast from the past in more ways than one, as Chris Claremont and Salvador Larroca reunite for a new adventure.

Batman & The Joker: The Deadly Duo #2continues to explore the dynamic between its titular characters while also delivering plenty of action and humor. So far, I've been pleasantly surprised by this comic, and I hope that feeling continues, especially as the last page teases a whole new world of trouble for Batman and the Joker.

Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man #2finds the web-slinger fighting to stop the world from sinking into a living nightmare. Its supernatural storytelling and trippy imagery make it one of the best Marvel comics on the stands and continue a trend of Spider-Man stories delving deep into the psychedelic realm.

Vanish #3 delivers a bloody and brutal beatdown along with a story that explores the fraying mental state of its protagonist. It's a major turning point in the series, and it suggests that the protagonist may be just as much of a danger as the people he's fighting. As Nietzsche once said: "Battle not with monsters, lest you become a monster yourself."

Blade: Vampire Nation #1 finds the Daywalker racing to solve a murder, featuring a slow-burn storyline and appropriately moody art. As next year marks Blade's 50th anniversary, I hope the state of the Vampire Nation is touched upon sooner rather than later.

Demon Wars: Shield of Justice #1ignites a war between demons and pushes Peach Momoko's reimagining of the Marvel Universe into new territory.

The Mystery of Ultraseven #4 delivers blockbuster action from beginning to end, setting the stage for a cataclysmic conclusion. When the dust settles, only Ultraman or Ultraseven will remain standing. The only question left is: what will Higgins and Groom think of next when it comes to this new Ultraman Universe?

Harley Quinn: The Animated Series Legion of Bats #2continues to feature all of the character development and outright debauchery that made the animated series a hit while putting its spin on the Batman mythos. Once again, I recommend reading it if you're waiting for Season 4 of Harley Quinnor if you want to know why the show's so beloved.

Kamen Rider Zero-One #1offers the perfect introduction to the world of Kamen Rider, thanks to a creative team that has deep knowledge as well as love for the character. If you've been watching Kamen Ridersince the original series or have only heard of it in passing, this is the comic for you. It also continues a trend of tokusatsu-based comics that I hope doesn't die down, as this is the exact jolt of life the superhero genre needs.

Radiant Black #19 begins a brand new era for the cosmic-powered champion while also bringing two years' worth of stories to a head. I have the feeling that future issues will introduce even more upheaval into the Radiants' lives. The question remains: how will they deal with it?

With future issues set to focus on the other members of the Four, and a jaw-dropper of a final page, it's safe to say that the creative team isn't pulling any punches when it comes to their approach to the title.

Even if you haven't read Kraven's Last Hunt, this is still worth picking up. It's the perfect reminder of why Spidey has continued to endure as a character after 60 year

Deadpool #1 gives the Merc with a Mouth a new enemy and new goals while keeping true to the core of what makes him a beloved character.

Hulk #10leans all the way into its sci-fi trappings, delivering a new environment as well as subversions of the classic Hulk story.

Predator #4 is a prime slice of Yautja action from beginning to end. It's also a reminder that it's a great time to be a Predator fan; between the comics andPrey, there's plenty of bloody action for fans of the franchise to enjoy.

Vanish #2 builds out a world of magic, menace, and mystery, delivering a superhero tale unlike any other. The stage is set for a battle between Oliver and the Prestige/Hollow as soon as the next issue. And for once in my life, I'm rooting for the villain or in this case, the hero. Because in a world of magic, nothing's what it seems.

Rogues' Gallery #4 closes out a gripping and often sobering tale about when the lines between fandom & reality become blurred. This series is a must-read for anyone who calls themself a fan of anything, especially with how prominent superheroes have become in pop culture. Even the ending will give readers something to think about.

A.X.E.: Judgment Day #6 brings an end to Marvel's latest event series and upends the world of the Avengers, X-Men, and Eternals in the process. If I were in the Progenitor's place, I would definitely judge this comic worthy of reading. It's very rare that a superhero comic can deal with matters of faith in such a profound way, but this one more than succeeds.

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers #101 begins a new era for the Power Rangers by bringing in a new creative team and an old foe. You'll definitely be glad you stayed if you've been reading the MMPRcomics since their inception. And if you're a newcomer to the comics, this is the perfect jumping point.

Moon Knight Annual #1pits the lunar vigilante against the Werewolf by Night in a tale that connects them both while paying homage to their shared history. Those who enjoyed both characters' outings on Disney will want to pick it up, as will the folks looking for a good Halloween read.

The final page promises that the terror has only just begun for Spidey and that he's not in his friendly neighborhood anymore.

Harley Quinn: The Animated Series - Legion of Bats #1is a perfect continuation of the animated series, featuring all the elements that make it a must-watch. The best thing about Harley Quinn is how she manages to change and grow with the times, and this comic is a key example of that.

Thor #28continues to prove that Al Ewing and Donny Cates are a match made in heaven, with some metal imagery and a mind-melting story. The next storyline looks to explore the connection between Thor and Thanos, and I'm looking forward to it. After his showdowns with Venom and the Hulk, where will a confrontation with the Mad Titan lead Thor?

A.X.E.: Eternals #1is a meditation on the nature of faith and what people are willing to do for it, using the Eternals' Ajak as its focal point. Not only do these one-shots help add more dimension to Judgment Day as a whole, but they also build upon the themes present in that storyline. If you've been enjoying Judgment Day, you'll definitely want to pick up this one-shot and its predecessors.

Fantastic Four #48isn't just a great Judgment Day tie-in but also a great Fantastic Four story, thanks to its creative team. Pepose is definitely proving that he's a perfect fit for the Marvel Universe, especially when paired with the right artists. And don't worry, Fantastic Four fans: Ryan North and Iban Coello are taking over the First Family's adventures with a new series later this year.

Immortal X-Men #7is a great reminder of why Nightcrawler is a fan-favorite X-Men character, as he comes up with a plan to save the Earth. As Judgment Day nears its end, this comic serves as a reminder that even in the face of seemingly impossible odds, it helps to have something to believe in.

Star Wars: Visions #1serves as a compelling prequel to "The Duel," thanks to the stellar work of Takashi Okazaki. If you loved "The Duel," or Visions in general, you owe it to yourself to pick up this comic. I can only hope that Marvel commissions similar one-shots or ongoing series to expand upon the other shorts.

Miracleman #0 serves as both a tribute to the power of storytelling and a perfect introduction to the legendary hero. If you love Gaiman's work on stories like The Sandman,pick it up. If you want to step outside the box for your next comic reading experience, pick it up. If you want to know why Miracleman has endured for all these years, pick it up.

Rogue Sun #7isn't just a great standalone story: it's a comic that ditches traditional narrative to explore the weight of the choices we make. It also serves as a reminder that the Massiveverse is one of the best things to happen to superhero comics, and I look forward to the different ways that it continues to play with the form of comics.

A.X.E.: X-Men #1 puts Jean Grey through a mental wringer, as it explores whether it's possible to achieve redemption. Rather than padding out the Judgment Daystoryline, these one-shots add a new dimension to it. It'll be interesting to see how Gillen wraps things up with the third and final one-shot next week.

Ant-Man #4 puts the cap on a well-crafted series that explores the past, present, and distant future of Marvel's astonishing Avenger. Whether you've seen the Ant-Man films or are a newcomer to his astonishing adventures, this comic is definitely worth a read. And it looks like Ewing isn't done exploring the history of the Marvel Universe, as next year will see him launch a Wasp miniseries with artist Kasia Nie.

Dark Crisis: The Deadly Green #1peers deep into the Great Darkness and tests various heroes in the process. Though it's light on the action, it's a great read solely for the philosophical elements presented within. Plus, the idea of a Superman/Swamp Thing fusion is just too good to pass up in my book.

A.X.E.: Avengers #1provides one of the most compelling looks inside Iron Man's head as he faces the apocalyptic trials of Judgment Day. The next issue will focus on Jean Grey, and I hope it's as well constructed as this one was.

Ant-Man #3 turns its focus on Scott Lang, as Al Ewing and Tom Reilly's astonishing anniversary series draws to a close. I'm looking forward to the final issue, especially since it will reveal more about the future Ant-Man. It also puts a spin on one of my favorite Marvel villains, making him deadlier than ever.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #100is not only a grand celebration of all things Power Rangers, but it marks the end of an era for the comics. The title is in good hands, as Melissa Flores and Mercado will step in to handle the next issue. And as for Parrott, his tenure with writing superpowered teenagers is only continuing withRogue Sun and the upcoming sequel to the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Thor #27 not only unites the God of Thunder with Venom but also merges together Al Ewing and Donny Cates's respective writing talents. I hope this isn't the end of Ewing and Cates working together, because they fall into sync in a way few comic creators do. Maybe they'll have another Marvel crossoverI could definitely see HulkandX-Men Red working together.

A.X.E.: Judgment Day #5 features awe-inspiring speeches combined with blockbuster-worthy artwork as Marvel's heroes make their last stand. With only one issue remaining, the final fate of the Marvel Universe hangs in the balance. And in my opinion, this is one of the few times where I've felt like the stakes are high enough for a story of this caliber.

Carnage #6 finds the sinister symbiote descending into Niffelheim and offers a surprisingly deep meditation on the theme of identity. This is one of the most interesting books Marvel has put out in a minute, and if you're looking for something off the beaten path, I'd highly suggest you pick this book up.

Fantastic Four #47 finds the Invisible Woman locked in the Baxter Building with a cabal of hi-tech thieves as Judgment Day approaches.This is the perfect example of a great tie-in issue, and I wouldn't mind seeing this creative team on more stories, whether they're Fantastic Four related or not.

Radiant Black #18crosses through time and space to tell Radiant Yellow's origin story, providing an unconventional yet emotional narrative. Should Wendell follow in the footsteps of his fellow Radiants and receive a spinoff series, I look forward to seeing how his perception of time continues to affect the Massiveverse. Plus, I like seeing more of him as he's a really cool character.

Rogues' Gallery #3 dives full on into horror film territory, as its dual plotlines collide together with terrifying results. It's rare that I recommend a comic to horror fans and superhero fans, but this fits the bill. More than that, it remains one of the most captivating new series that Image has.

The Mystery of Ultraseven #2 continues to live up to its title as it peels back the layers of the enigma surrounding its titular hero. The next issue will see Ultraman and Ultraseven face-off, but if this issue is any indication, there'll be more to their confrontation than your usual superhero dust-up.

X-Terminators #1 is mostly carried by its art, with a story that doesn't live up to the potential it promised. Having been let down by The Trial of Magneto, which Williams also penned, I hope this title doesn't suffer the same fate. But so far, it feels like the Spice Girls attempting to do a cover of the Wu-Tang Clan.

Census #1 infuses supernatural elements into its workplace comedy setup, resulting in a wild, weird look at the millennial struggle.Though attention may be on big-budget streaming shows when it comes to the fantasy genre,Census proves that the comic genre holds stories that are just as great asThe Rings of Power or House of the Dragon.

A.X.E.: Judgment Day #4continues to subvert expectations, all the while delivering a cinematic experience in terms of story and artwork. With a massive cliffhanger and only two issues left, it's anyone's guess how things will end. But that ending's bound to be spectacular.

Maskerade #1 marks Kevin Smith's return to comics, featuring a new superhero along with the geek guru's trademark storytelling tricks. With his recent dabbles in film and television, it was only a matter of time before Smith returned to comics, and with the help of McElfresh and Sprenglemeyer, he's come up with a neat premise.

Midnight Suns #1 unites fan-favorite characters to battle a supernatural threat, resulting in a book that's part 90's throwback and part horror/action romp. If you're waiting for the Midnight Sunsvideo game, this will tide you over. If you love magic, superheroes, or both, this book is right up your alley.

Predator #2 is a master class in building tension, as its protagonist fights to find supplies and survive in an icy wasteland of a planet. The next issue promises to deliver on the Predator fight that's usually associated with the franchise. The question is: who will walk away?

Batman VS. Robin #1finds the Dark Knight fighting to save his son, as Mark Waid and Mahmud Asrar deliver a story laced with action and emotion. If you've been enjoying Waid's work onBatman/Superman: World's Finest, this comic is definitely for you, especially as it picks up from a plot point in that book. Despite its title, this series is less about the battle between the two title combatants and more of a story about family.

Star Trek #400 is both a celebration of the Star Trek universe in comics and a roadmap for its future, as it features stories from across the final frontier. With a new Star Trek series set to launch later this year, the hope is that the new creative team continues to tap into the elements that makeTrek a standout in the world of sci-fi.

Alien #1continues Phillip Kenndy Johnson's Xenomorph saga, turning the focus on a new set of characters while keeping the same cutting commentary and horrific scenery. So far, both theAlien andPredator franchises have had an impressive start at Marvel. Here's hoping it continues, or that it leads up to an eventual Aliens VS Predator revamp.

Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #4offers a thoughtful look into what Captain America means to different people as Steve Rogers decides to confront the Inner Circle on his terms. Issue by issue, this continues to be one of the best takes on Captain America and one of Marvel's best books, and I would be remiss if I didn't recommend it to Cap fans.

The Dead Lucky #2continues to flesh out its futuristic world, delivering action-packed mech battles and exploration of trauma in equal measure. It's rare that a new comic has leapt right out of the gate with this much confidence and talent behind it, but it's welcome, both as an example of what the Massiveverse is bringing to the table in terms of superhero stories and how to use a fantastical story to approach real-life issues.

Dark Knights of Steel: Tales from the Three Kingdoms #1expands the world of DC's superhero swords-and-sorcery epic, with a trio of creative teams putting their own spin on heroes and villains alike. Even if you haven't read the main Dark Knights of Steel storyline, this is still a great read and a perfect example of how to execute a concept.

Fantastic Four: Full Circledelivers a visually stunning story of Marvel's First Family, as Alex Ross flexes a new set of storytelling muscles...this is a comic crafted with love for the characters it involves and a platform for the creators to push the boundaries of a superhero universe.

Vanish #1delivers a bold and brutal approach to the realm of fantasy storytelling as Donny Cates & Ryan Stegman reunite for a creator-owned title that feels metal in every sense of the word. If you're looking for a new fantasy comic or just love fantasy in general, I highly suggest picking this title up.

Amazing Fantasy #1000is a supersized love letter to all things Spider-Man as Marvel celebrates the web-slinger's 60th anniversary. If you pick up only one Spider-Man comic this year, this should be the one.

While many comics are seeing the return of 90's-era heroes, including WildC.A.T.S. at DC and Spider-Man 2099 at Marvel, Bloodshot's return is definitely a highlight.

A.X.E.: Death to The Mutants #1turns its focus to the Eternals who have rebelled against their mutant-killing mission, offering more profound meditations on belief and top-notch action. Gillen is working hard to make this a comic book crossover that stands out from the pack, and so far he's succeeding.

Hulk #8wraps up the "Banner of War" storyline with some bombastic illustrations and a script that has equal amounts of philosophy and punching. It's been a wild ride, and, from the end of this issue, it looks like the fallout from this fight will continue to affect both characters throughout their titles.

The Mystery of Ultraseven #1 takes Marvel's Ultraman saga to the next level, living up to its title as the mysteries surrounding the Ultras & Kaiju begin to unravel. If you've enjoyed Higgins and Groom's prior work, or you love Ultraman, this is definitely worth a read.

The Last ShadowHawk #1is a well-illustrated yet scattershot story featuring one of Image's premiere heroes. While ShadowHawk readers and Image fans may love the story, newcomers will probably only pick it up for the art.

Now that the meaning behind the series title is revealed, the Avengers, X-Men, and Eternals have entered an entirely new conflict - and the rest of the Marvel Universe may pay the price.

If you watched Preyand enjoyed it, I recommend checking this comic out. And hopefully, this marks a lengthy run of new Predator comics - I, for one, would love to see Predator vs. The Marvel Universe.

King Spawn #13shifts the story into a new gear as the hellish anti-hero comes to terms with his new powers. Having made new enemies, Spawn, it's possibly safe to say, will be in for some of the biggest battles of his life. But the promise of those battles is what's made this title such an appealing read; if Spawn truly is a King now, he'll have to defend his crown.

Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #3 continues to peel back the layers behind the Outer Circle while putting Steve Rogers through his paces. Given the end of the issue, it looks as though Steves civilian life will be in the Circles crosshairs, and that the Redacted may be just as deadly a foe as the Red Skull or Baron Zemo ever was.

Demon Wars: The Iron Samurai #1 launches a new story in Peach Momokos manga-inspired Marvel Universe, with all the craft and creativity that powered the Demon Days saga. This series is growing into a must-read, both for longtime Marvel fans and newcomers alike. Definitely pick it up if you have the chance.

Immortal X-Men #5 explores faith and what one is willing to do in the name of it through Exodus eyes, as Judgement Day rages on. So far, between this series and X-Men Red, Marvel has been knocking it out of the park with Judgement Day tie-ins. Lets hope that continues with future issues.

X-Men Red #5 delves into the fallout from Judgement Day, as Arakko falls prey to the wrath of the Eternal Uranos. The best tie-ins offer more depth to the main story, and this is definitely a great tie-in. And the last page delivers a promise that Uranos will come to regret his actions.

Cover the Dead With Lime #1serves up a grisly tale of the undead with a side of historical fiction and plenty of nightmarish illustrations. It's proof that the zombie genre hasn't completely run dry, and Chance has the potential to be one of the more interesting voices in the sphere of comic creation. Definitely pick this one up if you're craving a spine-tingling read.

Radiant Black #16 has the cosmic hero's enemies joining forces to kill him, which results in the biggest battle of his superhero career. The last page will probably blow fans' minds, but given how this series has gone so far, there's gotta be more to the story. And after listening to Higgins' plans for the series at San Diego Comic-Con, things are only starting to heat up in the MassiveVerse.

Amazing Spider-Man #900 doubles as an action-packed adventure and an introspective look into what makes Peter Parker a great character. Wells and McGuiness delivered some great work here, and the end of the book teases them coming together to work on future Spidey stories. As far as anniversary stories go, this one's worth a read.

Ant-Man #1 is a great start to a story that celebrates the astonishing Avenger's 60th anniversary, touching upon everyone who's ever held the mantle. Whether you've only seen the Ant-Man movies or have read every one of his appearances, this is a comic I definitely recommend to everyone.

Wild Cards: Drawing of Cards #1 is little more than a prelude to the major events of the seriesalbeit a prelude with some gorgeous art. Fans will probably either pick up or stay with the book due to Martin's name being attached. However, I'd definitely recommend picking up the novels as wellnot only are they a breath of fresh air in the superhero genre, but they're very well written.

A.X.E.: Judgement Day #1ties together Marvel's three biggest ensembles for an event of epic proportions, with stellar scripting and phenomenal artwork. With such a great opening issue, I have faith that the rest of the series will continue to impress. And given that the events ofJudgement Day are set to spill out into the Marvel Universe, there's no telling who comes out unscathed and who doesn't.

Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood #3features a trio of tales that showcase the range of stories the lunar vigilante can be a part of. With only one more issue to go, I hope the best was saved for last. And I also hope this isn't the end of the Black, White & Blood anthologies because there are plenty of Marvel characters who fit the format.

The Dead Lucky #1expands the Massive-Verse with a science-fiction story that balances raw human emotion and cutting-edge technology. Whether you've checked out the Massive-Verse's other books or this is your first exposure to it, it's well worth a read.

Canary #1brings Scott Snyder's penchant for horror and Dan Panosian's gritty art to the Western genre, resulting in a unique tale. If you're a fan of horror films or Westerns - or both - this comic is for you. And I definitely recommend checking out Snyder's other work, as he's been excelling when it comes to creator-owned work.

Dudley Datson and the Forever Machine #1 truly feels like it's made for everyone and embodies the pure creative spirit of comics. Snyder's been on a roll with his creator-owned work, and I definitely can't wait for future issues of Dudley Datson as well as Snyder and Igle's future projects. Definitely pick it up if you love the work that Snyder's been doing with Comixology so far.

Rogues Gallery #1offers a searing look at the dark side of fandom, specifically the dangers of letting it overtake one's personality. Between this and Public Domain, Image isn't pulling any punches when it comes to commentary on the modern state of stories.

Immortal X-Men #4 places readers inside the mind of Emma Frost and solidifies her place as one of the most interesting characters in the X-Men mythos. Gillen has been on a roll with this series, and I look forward to future issues.

King Spawn #12acts as the culmination of the series' main storyline as Spawn's battle with the Court of Priests reaches a bloody end. And judging from the final page, Spawn may be living up to this series' title in future issues. "All Hail The King," indeed.

A.X.E. - Eve of Judgement #1is a solid set-up for the events of Judgement Day, although it could have been made a bit more inclusive for new readers.

X-Men: Hellfire Gala #1delivers a major shake-up to the Age of Krakoa, with plenty of superheroic haute couture to spare. Already, plot threads have been set that will spread out into Marvel's other comics, including upcoming issues of Amazing Spider-Man and the upcoming Judgement Day event series. It just goes to show that: whether you're a mutant, superhero, or a regular human, the Hellfire Gala is the place to be.

Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #2is a compelling re-examination of Steve Rogers' history, opening up new layers in the Star-Spangled Avenger's mythos... Whether you're a fan of Captain America or a newcomer to the comics, you owe it to yourself to pick up this series.

Carnage #4 expands the series' horizons as the sinister symbiote travels through time and space in search of new victims to hunt. With all the twists and turns this series is taking, it's working its way onto the list of titles I routinely pick up at the comic book store.

Prodigy: The Icarus Society #1features the return of Edison Crane, with a story that rivals and even exceeds some of the biggest action movies ever put to the screen. Though Millar has had a career with mixed results, the Prodigy series is one of his most interesting creations and well worth a read.

Entropy #1 serves as a supervillain origin story, as well as a well-crafted cosmic tragedy that builds out the universe of its flagship character Taarna. Heavy Metal is turning out some of the most interesting comics on the stands, and this series is proof of that. I highly recommend picking it up if you want a fresh take on the superhero genre or if shows like The Boys and Super Crooks spoke to you.

Power Rangers Unlimited: Countdown To Ruin #1is a must-read for everyPower Rangers in Spacefan, as it reveals the events that made Andros into the Power Ranger he is today. Given that Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers #100 is set to shake up the foundation of thePower Rangers comics, I'd love if we got to see more of the In Space Rangers.

X-Men Red #4presents three stories for the price of one and decides to explore how others view Krakoa's ability to resurrect mutants. This continues to be one of the best X-Men books on the stands, and I cannot wait to see how future issues explore the X-Men's place in the solar system, especially with the upcoming Judgement Day storyline.

Rogue Sun #5 crosses between past and present as the fiery hero deals with the fallout of his twisted family tree. When praising the series, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke said that the best superhero stories deal with humanity, and this issue is a prime example of that.

Public Domain #1tackles the major issue of creators' rights in a funny yet heartfelt way and continues to cement Chip Zdarsky as one of the most interesting creators in the industry. If you've loved Zdarsky's other creator-owned work or his Daredevil run, I highly suggest picking this book up.

Miles Morales & Moon Girl #1is a charming if rather unorthodox team-up between the title characters as they search for Devil Dinosaur. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you want a superhero story that's more low-stakes, or want to learn more about Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. It's also a great starting point for younger readers and will continue with a one-shot that sees Moon Girl joining forces with the Avengers.

King Spawn #11 ups the brutality and the betrayal as the hellish anti-hero takes the fight to his foes but may have made a new one in the process. This book continues to be the fresh breath of air that Spawn needed after 30 years.

X-Men Red #3features plenty of double-crosses and bloody grabs for power, as Storm and Abigail Brand battle for power on Arakko. This book is shaping up to be Game of Thrones in the X-Men universe, which makes for an intriguing combo. Hopefully, Ewing and Caselli deliver a stronger ending for their series.

Thor #26 serves as the penultimate chapter in the "Banner of War" storyline, as the God of Thunder and the Hulk undergo surprising transformations. The conclusion will find out just who the stronger of the two is, and no doubt will spark fanboy debates for years to come. And Thor has another team-up on the horizon, as the next issue will find him teaming up with Venom, which marks Cates' return to scripting the Lethal Protector.

Dark Crisis #1 isn't just the next major DC event; it's a meditation on the themes of legacy and loss and also doubles as a love letter to the history of the DC Universe. The buildup to this event has been worth the wait, and I can't wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds especially since it ends on a massive cliffhanger.

Jane Foster & The Mighty Thor #1 features a story that brings Jane Foster back into the limelight as she embarks on a mission to save Thor. If you're counting down the days to Love and Thunder, or you're looking for an entrance into the world ofThor comics, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a read.

Black Panther #6is a white-knuckle action thriller from beginning to end, as T'Challa is branded an enemy of Wakanda and goes on the run. With the next issue wrapping up this story arc, time will tell if the Panther takes back his crown or if the weight of his duplicity will crush him. Either way, it's a truly fresh direction for the book.

Carnage #3 unveils the series' endgame as the creative team looks to push the sinister symbiote into the upper echelon of Marvel villains. That's a tall order for any character, but this creative team shows they're more than up to the challenge. And it'll hopefully draw more readers, as this is slowly shaping up to be one of Marvel's most interesting titles.

X-Men 92: House of XCII #2continues to put its own animated spin on the Age of Krakoa, featuring plenty of surprises along the way. The next issue looks to adapt the events ofX of Swords, and that should be fun, especially since it means we'll probably see this creative team's take on Arakko. If you love the current era of X-Men books or you're counting down the days until the premiere of X-Men '97, you definitely need to check this book out.

Justice League: Road To Dark Crisis #1serves as an excellent prologue toDark Crisis, with multiple creators showcasing the DC Universe's reaction to the death of the Justice League. WithDark Crisis set to debut next week, this is the perfect starting point for readers old and new.

Rogue Sun #4finally offers an answer to the series' murder mystery while upending its fiery hero's life in the process. Now that answers are out in the open, Dylan - and the readers - will probably have questions that the next issue looks to address. One thing's for sure: this comic looks like it's about to hit its stride.

DC VS Vampires: Hunters #1 is a solid expansion upon the limited series, and places the spotlight on Nightwing and Damian Wayne's fractured relationship. With another spinoff series titled DC VS. Vampires: All-Out War in the works, I hope that Rosenberg continues to keep up the character work as well as the vampire-slaying action.

Legion of X #1gives birth to a new team of mutants while also exploring the same themes of faith that Way of X did. If you've been enjoying the current crop of X-Men titles, if Nightcrawler is one of your favorite X-Men, or you like great worldbuilding - or all three - this book is definitely for you.

The Phalanx #1 serves as a loving tribute to Image Comics' inception, from the titular team's heroes to its 1992 setting. This one-shot will probably appeal most to a select group of readers, particularly those who grew up on early Image. But I also feel that new readers will enjoy it, and time will tell if we see more of this team.

King Spawn #10 undergoes a shift in its protagonist and its art style, more than living up to its subtitle of "black, white and red all over." With the second story arc approaching its end, things are only getting more and more difficult for Spawn. The final page also hints that this comic may start to live up to its regal title.

Immortal X-Men #2gives Hope Summers a much-needed day in the limelight while also showing how much of a threat Selene is to Krakoa.

Star Wars: Han Solo & Chewbacca #2piles on the angst for Han Solo, as the smuggler comes face to face with a man claiming to be his father. I hope this plot point isn't a dead end and leads to some genuinely emotional moments, and I also hope that future episodes give Chewbacca an equal focus. Plus, there's the question of why Vancto is after Han. Either way, you slice it, everyone's favorite scoundrel can't catch a break.

Thor #25 serves as a continuation of the "Banner of War" storyline, pitting Bruce Banner against Odin and continuing to celebrate Thor's 60th anniversary.

X-Men Red #2begins to draw lines in the sands of Arrako as Storm forms a new Brotherhood of Mutants and weathers the fury of Vulcan. The next issue will reportedly feature Thunderbird in a major role, which should be interesting given that his temperament is perfect for Arakko culture. And it'll be interesting to see which side he joins.

Duo #1serves as a launching point for Milestone's Earth-M initiative, featuring a new Asian-American hero and a majorly Asian-American creative team at the helm. I'm genuinely curious to see what other titles are in store for Earth-M, and if Duo will follow in Static's footsteps and hit the big screen.

Savage Avengers #1is a time-traveling thrill ride featuring a collection of appealing antiheroes and a premise that encompasses everything wonderful about comics. I highly encourage Marvel fans to pick this one up, as it has all the makings of a classic run.

Crossover#13combines a profound script with some mind-melting artwork, resulting in one of the most moving comics of the year. Given where the issue left off, this series continues to defy expectations and I have no idea what the third story arc will entail - but I'm sure that the creative team will deliver an amazing story.

8 Billion Genies #1brings forth a new world of magic and mayhem and reunites the creative team of Charles Soule and Ryan Browne in the process. Between the story and the art, this is one of the most inventive comic books I've read in a while, and the end of the issue shows that.

Grim #1takes a creative look at the concept of death, featuring some beautiful artwork and a killer story hook. BOOM! has been delivering a steady stream of original comics, and this is one of their best launches yet. I'm already looking forward to the next issue.

Blood Syndicate: Season One #1gives one of the Milestone Universe's fan-favorite teams a fresh start, courtesy of a talented creative team. If you're looking to get into the Milestone Universe or learn more about its non-Static character, this is the series for you. I can't wait to see how the creative team works with the other members of the Syndicate

Captain America: Symbol of Truth #1launches a new era of Sam Wilson wielding the shield, with plenty of action and character interaction to hook fans old and new. This title and the upcoming Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty is launching a new era for Captain America and I can't wait to see how it turns out. Especially since the next issue features Sam teaming up with Deadpool, of all people.

Thor vs. Hulk: Banner of War Alpha #1 celebrates the title characters with a blood-soaked and brutal battle royale. If you've been readingThorand/orHulk, this storyline looks to pay off plot points from both titles. If you haven't, it's still a storyline with an easy jumping-on point and a hell of a hook. Either way, this is a comic that's worth your time.

Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood #1uses the anthology format to great effect, delivering a trio of blood-soaked tales starring the lunar vigilante. With three more issues to go, there's a chance for more fan-favorite creators to present their own take on Moon Knight. And I hope that Marvel continues to use the Black, White & Blood format for other characters; it seems tailor-made for someone like Blade.

The Scorched #5 finds the right mix of action and story, with the team of hellbound heroes fighting a new enemy and learning new secrets concerning their hellish war.

Avengers Forever #5promises to reveal more about the origin of Doom Supreme but barely scratches his surface. Hopefully, future issues will delve more into what makes the other Masters of Evil tick or what their end game is; the concept of traveling the multiverse can only take you so far.

Good Game, Well Playedis a found family fable that wears its hearts on its sleeve, while paying loving tribute to video games and the 90's. If you love coming-of-age films or manga, or you're looking for a fresh breath of air when it comes to comics, this is the story for you. I truly hope that this creative team has the chance to make more comics together.

Radiant Black #14introduces another new archenemy for the cosmic hero while also dealing with his fraught friendship. So far this story arc has been off to a solid start, and the next issue should be especially interesting since it deals with the concept of film-making and creator's rights.

Batman Beyond: Neo-Year #2continues to put Terry McGinnis through his paces as the creative team strips him of his resources and pits him against new foes. It's clear Terry is rethinking his entire approach to becoming Batman, but what kind of Batman he will be when the series ends is unclear. Hopefully, this is only the beginning of a new era for Batman Beyond.

Nubia: Coronation Special #1sets the stage for Nubia's future as the Queen of the Amazons, thanks to a supremely talented creative roster. Nubia's adventures will continue in the upcomingNubia: Queen of the Amazons miniseries later this year and I look forward to seeing what Williams and Ayala have in store for her.

Giant-Size X-Men: Thunderbird #1brings one of the classic X-Men back to the land of the living, with indigenous creators helping shape his new path in life. This is the perfect example of what the Giant-Size X-Men books should be going forward, and thankfully this isn't the end of Thunderbird's journey since he's set to play a considerable role in X-Men Red.

Spider-Man 2099: Exodus - Alpha #1returns to Miguel O'Hara's timeline for an action-packed story that celebrates the fan-favorite web-slinger's 30th anniversary. With upcoming issues slated to focus on the 2099 versions of Marvel heroes including the Winter Soldier and Loki, I'm looking forward to where Orlando and his collaborators takeExodus' story.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #5 serves as an emotional, adrenaline-laced finale to one of the best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stories ever told. TMNT fans of every stripe will want to pick up this book, and the ending hints at even more tales set in this universe. Between The Last Roninand the upcoming "Armageddon Game" storyline in the mainTMNT series, the future of the heroes in a half shell is looking bright.

RetroActive presents a fresh take on the time travel genre, with Ibrahim Moustafa delivering a story and artwork that's laced with plenty of hard-hitting action and emotional weight. I highly suggest adding this comic to your pull list, whether you're a fan of time travel tales or supercharged spy affairs. Hopefully, Moustafa's third Humanoids graphic novel continues to push the boundaries of science fiction.

Carnage #2 continues the sinister symbiote's quest for identity and will sear itself into readers' minds with its disturbing imagery. With yet another Spider-Man villain in Carnage's crosshairs, the Marvel Universe may receive a grim reminder of why the Bleeding King is one of its deadliest figures.

Amazing Spider-Man #1is a shaky start to the web-slinger's 60th anniversary, as the story boasts solid art thanks to John Romita Jr. I hope that future issues, including the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man #900will be a more fitting celebration of Spidey's legacy,

Thor #24celebrates the God of Thunder's 60th anniversary by bringing in a collection of creators who've helped shape his legacy. This issue should serve as a perfect example of how to celebrate a character's anniversary, and the celebration shows no signs of stopping as Thor will battle Hulk in the upcoming Banner of War event that runs through theThorand Hulktitles.

Armorclads #2continues to slowly build up its story, with its world-building and art attempting to make up for a sluggish pace. The next issue looks to finally launch the revolution that's been teased in the series synopsis, and hopefully, the speed of the story will pick up a little with it.

The O.Z. #2continues to build out its post-apocalyptic take on The Wizard of Oz while exploring the past and present horrors of war. With only one more issue left in the series, I hope that Kickstarter backers will continue their support for the series because I'm genuinely curious to see how this all ends.

Captain America #0 is a star-spangled action movie in comic book form that launches a new era for both Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson. With Onyebuchi tackling Sam inCaptain America: Symbol of Truth this May and Lanzing/Kelly writing Steve inCaptain America: Sentinel of Liberty this June, fans will have double the Captain America action.

Wolverine #20 picks up in the aftermath ofX Lives/X Deaths of Wolverine by pairing the clawed Canadian with Deadpool for an off-the-rails mission. It's a nice change of pace from the usual Wolverine stories, but that's for the best: sometimes you have to shake things up to keep a character fresh.

Black Panther #5kicks the series' ongoing story into high gear, showing the cost of the King of Wakanda's subterfuge. With the end of the issue shaking up everything fans know about Wakanda, the Black Panther's status quo is an entirely new place, and that makes for some interesting stories.

X-Men '92: House of XCII #1, true to its name, is the perfect mashup ofX-Men: The Animated Series andHouse of X/Powers of X. If you've been enjoying what the Krakoan Age has brought to the table, you'll want to check out this new take on the story. If you love X-Men: The Animated Series and are looking for something to tide you over beforeX-Men '97premieres in 2023, this is definitely the comic for you.

The Scorched #4feels more like a filler issue than a plot or character-focused issue as it sets up a confrontation for future stories. I hope that the next issues stay more in tune with Lewis' work on King Spawn, which manages to balance character development with the gory, horror-tinged elements that make the Spawn franchise what it is.

Spider-Punk #1 serves as the perfect intro to a fan-favorite character from the Spider-Verse, as its creative team has a clear love for Hobie Brown and the world he inhabits. Future issues will no doubt continue to expand the world of Earth-138 and present new challenges for the Spider-Punk, but fighting evil and shredding on his guitar is what he was born to do.

X-Men Red #1launches a new era of cosmic adventures for the X-Men while also setting up rich character journeys for fan-favorite characters including Storm and Magneto. Whether you're a lifelong X-Men fan or have gotten into the franchise via House of X/Powers of X, this is a great jumping-on point. The Destiny of X is proving to be a much-needed creative jump start for the X-titles.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The 25th Anniversary #1 serves as a celebration of all things Slayer, and lays the seeds for Buffy's future. With a new ongoing series incoming and a wealth of characters to dig into, readers can look forward to seeing more of Buffy and her friends down the road.

Radiant Black #13 kicks off year two of the cosmic-powered hero's adventures, introducing new foes and keeping the same sense of character development that's made the series a must-read. With a jaw-dropper of a final page, it looks like the war between Radiant Black and his new foes is about to escalate.

Rogue Sun #2continues to explore the father/son relationship at the heart of the series, while also introducing new threats for its fiery hero to fight. The mystery of Marcus' death looks to be a major factor in the series, and I'm looking forward to how that unravels - as well as how Dylan juggles school and superheroics.

Amazing Spider-Man #93 wraps up the Beyond Saga while teasing the future of both Peter Parker and Ben Reilly. With Wells slated to team up with legendary Spider-Man artist John Romita Jr. in April, I hope he has a good story in mind for Spidey's 60th anniversary. The web-slinger deserves nothing less than the best.

Dark Ages #6serves as an antidote to the more worn-out tropes of post-apocalyptic realms and a perfect cap on Tom Taylor's time with Marvel. If you enjoyed DCeasedorInjustice, or you're looking for a superhero story with a more upbeat ending, I definitely recommend either picking up all the issues or waiting for the trade collection.

Hulk #5 pits Starship Hulk against his most dangerous opponent yet and unleashes a new monster in the process. That monster, dubbed "Titan," will be unleashed in the pages of the next issue. Judging from how its debut has been teased, Bruce Banner may have created yet another lifelong demon that will haunt him for the rest of his days.

Batman: Beyond The White Knight #1presents a unique take on the Batman Beyond universe, and its visually stunning art makes up for a bumpy story. Hopefully, future issues will continue to explore this new world and show how Terry grows into the Batman fans know and love.

DC Vs Vampires #6 brings the series to its darkest point yet, as the Vampire King stands revealed and the heroes' forces start to dwindle. If the next six issues continue this momentum, this could go down as one of the more well-constructed Elseworlds stories that DC's put out in a long time.

Shadow War Alpha #1is an action movie in comic book form, tying together various plot threads from Batman,Robin, andDeathstroke Inc. Whether you love any of these characters or have been following Williamson's work in the DC Universe, this is worth a read.

Immortal X-Men #1 launches the Second Age of Krakoa by exploring the upheaval in the Quiet Council and how it may affect the mutant nation. Between this title and X Lives of Wolverine/X Deaths of Wolverine, Marvel's mighty mutants continue to flourish. I'm definitely looking forward to future issues, as well as Gillen's work on the upcoming Avengers/X-Men/Eternals crossoverJudgement Day.

Avengers Forever #4brings the battle of Earth-818 to a close while touching upon elements from Jason Aaron's Thor run.

Demon Days: Blood Feud #1 brings the Yashida Saga to a rather emotional end, and closes the book on Peach Momoko's Marvel Universe, for now. A note at the end of the book promises that this universe will continue to unfurl this summer and I can't wait.

Shang-Chi #10continues to explore the fractured family tree of the Master of Kung Fu, as he travels back to the land of his mother's birth. With upcoming issues planning to explore more of Tao-Lo and the effect it has on Shang-Chi, Marvel's premier martial artist is in for the fight of his life.

X Deaths of Wolverine #5finds Wolverine fighting for the future of the X-Men and launches the Second Age of Krakoa. Not only did this story live up to its hype, but it's the perfect set-up for the "Destiny of X" storyline that begins next week with Immortal X-Men. This is not just a great Wolverine story it's a great story for anyone who's been invested in the X-Men since the Krakoa era began.

Armorclads #1 may be a bit slow as it lays the foundation for a new corner of the Valiant Universe, but its premise alone should be enough to hook longtime Valiant fans...And if you're a fan of science fiction or mecha, this series will be right up your alley.

King Spawn #8reveals a new foe for the hellish antihero while only continuing to pile onto his troubles with the Court of Priests. Every time I think the creators can't top themselves, they manage to do so, and the last page hints at yet another upheaval in the Spawn mythos, with this one being the biggest yet.

X Lives of Wolverine #5 puts a cap on the clawed Canadian's time-traveling odyssey and features a final battle with Omega Red. With next week bringing the last issue of X Deaths of Wolverine, Wolverine is about to face his greatest enemy himself.

Batman: The Knight #3explores the rage boiling deep within the Dark Knight's soul as he continues to forge his secret identity. Between this series and his upcoming run on the main Batman title, Zdarsky is looking to do for Batman what he's done for Daredevil, and I welcome it.

The last issue will feature a battle between Peter and Ben to see who picks up the mantle of Spider-Man and sets up the next era of Amazing Spider-Man. It's fair to say that Marvel is kicking off the web-slinger's 60th anniversary in style.

Mighty Morphin #17welcomes a new creative team as it begins to explore the aftermath of the Eltarian War. With the seeds sown for another era ofPower Rangers to make the jump to comics, the team's in good hands, and the Power Rangers comics continue to be a cornerstone of BOOM! Studios' titles

Star Wars: Han Solo & Chewbacca #1puts the spotlight on one of the most enduring friendships in Star Wars by showing Han Solo and Chewbacca doing what they did best before becoming Rebels. With a rather intriguing final page, it looks like the duo's latest adventure is about to get a lot more complicated.

X Deaths of Wolverine #4continues to up the action and emotion as the X-Men's present and future collide, and Wolverine is right in the middle.

I Am Batman #7continues to have artistic issues, but it's doing a fine job of separating Jace Fox from Bruce Wayne when it comes to being Batman. With Jace set to receive a new enemy, I look forward to seeing more of his Batman adventures, but hopefully, this series picks an artist and sticks with it.

Trial of the Amazons #1 features Wonder Woman writers and artists uniting the three Amazon tribes for a game-changing crossover event. With the storyline slated to spread into the rest of the Wonder Woman titles, I look forward to seeing the Contest results and how it potentially shakes up the Wonder Woman mythos.

Spider-Gwen: Gwen-Verse #1pushes the appeal of alternate Gwen Stacys to its limits, though its artwork and themes of mental health are well crafted. Hopefully future issues pick up those themes, as I feel like there are only so many Gwens that this concept can work with.

Women of Marvel #1 focuses on the House of Ideas' female heroes, courtesy of a roster of female creators. I highly suggest picking it up, especially if you're a fan of the Black Cat.

X Lives of Wolverine #4serves as a meditation on the clawed Canadian's long history while also setting the stage for a final battle between him and Omega Red. With both X LivesandX Deaths hurtling to their finales, I'm looking forward to seeing where Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men go from here.

Avengers Forever #3introduces a wild new team of Earth's Mightiest Heroes as they launch a rescue mission for Robbie Reyes and Deathlok. With the end of the story upping the stakes, it's a good thing that the next issue will reintroduce a trio of characters from another comic Aaron wrote.

Black Panther #4 continues to raise questions of trust, as the King of Wakanda learns that both his country and his family are under attack. The next issue promises to explore the ramifications of T'Challa's actions, which could bring him into (further) conflict with his allies. Either way it goes, Ridley, Cabal, and other artists are shaping a Black Panther story that fans old and new will definitely want to pick up.

Daredevil: Woman Without Fear #3serves as the cap on a well-crafted character study for Elektra Natchios, as her dedication to the role of Daredevil is put to the test. WithDevil's Reign wrapping up soon and Zdarsky set to launch a newDaredevil title, the seeds of Daredevil's future lie within this title.

Dark Knights of Steel #5features another medieval twist on a fan-favorite DC character and escalates tensions between the various kingdoms. With the end of the issue placing Batman in mortal danger (again), things look like they're about to get worse as all-out war is on the horizon.

Justice League Incarnate #5 brings the multiversal heroes' story to a close and sets the stage for the upcoming Dark Crisis storyline. This is the most invested I've been in an ongoing DC storyline in years. and I look forward to what Williamson brings to the table in his upcoming stories.

Static: Season One #6 closes the book on Virgil Hawkins' new origin story, featuring all the elements that made him a fan-favorite hero. With Static: Season Two planned for a summer release, I can't wait to see what happens next, especially with the closing pages teasing a new take on one of Static's deadliest enemies from the animated series.

Strange #1 bestows the mantle of the Sorcerer Supreme upon Clea Strange as she embarks on a quest to bring her husband back to life. The end of the issue resurrects a classic Marvel hero from the 90s and it's clear that MacKay and Ferreria intend to put Clea through all manner of hell.

What If Miles Morales #1 launches a new multiverse-spanning saga that reimagines the once and future Spider-Man as different heroes in Marvel's pantheon. Next issue will see Miles take up the mantle of Wolverine, and I look forward to how that story turns out, especially since John Ridley will be handling the script-writing duties.

Radiant Red #1 expands the Radiant Black universe as Satomi Sone faces a threat that could send her world toppling into chaos. Whether you've been enjoying Radiant Blackor you're looking forward to the next wave of comics that will debut after the Supermassive one-shot, this series should definitely go on your pull list.

Amazing Spider-Man #90 puts Peter Parker back in the webs as he faces off against the Queen Goblin, with Patrick Gleason's script making up for scattershot art. With three issues left in the Beyond Saga, I look forward to seeing how Peter and Ben take down the Queen Goblin and which Spider-Man we'll be following in the aftermath.

Dark Ages #5sets the stage for an epic confrontation between the Marvel Universe's heroes and Apocalypse's forces, and continues to upend the post-apocalyptic genre with both its story and its art. Though this may be Taylor's final Marvel story for a while, he's going out with a bang.

The Harbinger #5 launches a new story arc that brings back a fan-favorite Valiant character and a new set of challenges for Peter Stanchek. This series continues to be one of the most visually inventive and emotionally resonant superhero series on the stands and the title I'd recommend for anyone looking to get into the Valiant Universe.

Shang-Chi #9 launches a new story arc and brings on a new artist, with a story that'll appeal to comic book fans of every caliber. If you lovedShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, or if you're looking to get into Shang-Chi's comics, this is the perfect jumping on point. I'd even go so far as to recommend it as a nice jumping on point for readers who are looking to get into comics.

Silver Surfer: Rebirth #2forges an uneasy alliance between the Sentinel of the Spaceways and Thanos, as reality continues to be reshaped. With both the Surfer and Thanos hurled into different parts of the new reality, it's unclear who has control of the Reality Gem, or if the Surfer will be victorious.

Supermassive #1unites three different heroes in a blockbuster crossover event, launching a new tokusatsu-inspired superhero universe in the process. Not only is this one of the best comics I've read over the years, but it also gives this year's crop of upcoming superhero films a run for their money.

We Ride Titans #2continues the trend set by previous Vault series includingWitchblood andThe Blue Flame, grounding its high-concept pitch with plenty of family drama. With the end of the issue bringing in a new foe, it looks like the series will also continue to feature plenty of giant robot fights - and that's a recipe for success in my book.

X Deaths of Wolverine #3brings Wolverine's family into the fray, as they learn about the dark future that awaits mutantkind. With both X Lives andX Deathsheading to their conclusion, the future of mutantkind lies in Wolverine's hands, and it remains to be seen if he can pull off both of his time traveling missions.

Aquamen #1begins a new adventure for Arthur Curry and Jackson Hyde as its creative team continues to make their mark on the Aquaman mythos. If you loved reading Aquaman: The Beginning or were introduced to the Aquamen via theAquaman film ortheYoung Justice animated series, you'll want to pick this one up.

DC Vs. Vampires #5 continues to boast some stunning artwork but threatens to fall into a convention that's plagued a majority of DC's titles. I hope that future issues will include more heroes, as the vampires now have an advantage in numbers, and the series is about to hit its halfway point.

Ghost Rider #1 kicks off a slow-burning and horror-laced mystery that also doubles as a celebration of the hell-powered hero's 50th anniversary. Readers of Immortal Hulk andVenom, rejoice: your next big Marvel horror classic is here. And whether this is your first or latest Ghost Rider tale, it serves as a great introduction to Johnny Blaze.

Rogue Sun #1 is a blazing, bold entry into Image Comics' new superhero universe, choosing to ground its supernatural adventures by focusing on the relationship between a father and his son. If you love Radiant Black, I definitely think you should pick this series up.

Hulk #4pits Bruce Banner against the horrors of a gamma-irradiated Earth while continuing the creative team's penchant for eye-popping carnage. The final page teases another horrifying foe for the Hulk to battle, and it looks like the maiden journey of Starship Hulk may be over before it starts.

X Lives of Wolverine #3takes a drastic turn in its narrative, as Omega Red goes to desperate measures to get his revenge on Wolverine. The Wolverine saga has now hit its halfway point, and things aren't looking good for the clawed Canadian or the X-Men - especially now that there's a Terminator-esque Wolverine running around in X Deaths of Wolverine.

Aquaman: The Becoming #6 marks the end of a story fraught with family drama and tragedy, as Jackson Hyde finally inherits the mantle of Aquaman. This miniseries is worth a read for DC fans old and new, especially if you're a fan of Kaldur'ahm in Young Justice or just love Aquaman in any shape or form. and I'm looking forward to the story continuing in Aquamen, a series that Thomas will also pen.

Batman: The Knight #2continues to explore the Dark Knight's younger years, as he deals with the pitfalls of adolescence and grand larceny in Paris. With the ending featuring an appearance from one of Batman's most famous mentors, Bruce clearly still has some growing pains he needs to work through.

Marvel's Voices: Legacy (2022) #1is a solid celebration of the House of Idea's Black heroes, though it could have involved more creators behind the scenes. With a collection of great stories and features including the history of Monica Rambeau and an interview with artist Brian Stelfreeze, as well as an intro from Karama Horne, this is a comic made for Black nerds by Black nerds.

Venom #5deepens the lore of the Symbiotes but undercuts the ongoing story in the process, leading to a mixed bag. I would have preferred for the revelations surrounding Meridius to wait until a later issue, but they do hint at a larger story surrounding the Ewing/V/Hitch run and it's one I'm interested in. Hopefully, the next issue returns to Dylan Brock's battle with the Life Foundation as I've grown quite fond of the younger Venom.

Radiant Black #12closes out the series' first year by telling a standalone story focused on the secret origin of Radiant Pink. With Year Two slated to introduce new heroes, and a slate of new enemies, this series will only continue to build upon its reputation as one of the best superhero stories on the stands.

The Scorched #2features all the gritty, bloody action Spawn fans have come to expect from the hellish antihero's adventures.

I Am Batman #6is the fresh start the title needs, as it moves Jace Fox to a new city and gives him a new villain to battle. In the same way that Miles Morales differs from Peter Parker as Spider-Man, Jace is slowly becoming a different Batman than Bruce Wayne.

Amazing Spider-Man #88.BEY once again turns the spotlight on a member of Spider-Man's supporting cast, while also revisiting a storyline from his past. I only hope sales on this book are strong enough to warrant a Slingers miniseries, as I feel the creative crew could really work wonders with the concept.

Secret X-Men #1unites a team of mix-matched mutants for a covert mission, resulting in one of the most unique X-Men stories I've read since the beginning of the Krakoan Age.

Amazing Spider-Man #88introduces a terrifying new foe in the form of the Queen Goblin, as the Beyond Saga enters its final phase. As always, it looks like it'll fall to Peter Parker to save the day-especially when his loved ones are in the Queen Goblin's crosshairs.

Crossover #11finally reveals the mystery behind its narrator and the comic creator killer while also commenting on the nature of how stories can grow and evolve. This is an issue that people will be talking about, making me even more excited for the next issue.

Daredevil: Woman Without Fear #2pits Elektra Natchios against Kraven the Hunter, while also exploring her passionate and messy relationship with Matt Murdock. With one issue left to go, Kraven has Elekra dead to rights-and this may be one fight she can't win.

Nocterra #7launches the series' second story arc, featuring an expanded cast and a new mission to save the world. With the Sundogs' mission now pitting them against Blacktop Billwho's proven to be an absolute monsterthe series has taken quite the turn and I can't help but feel more horror is lurking in the dark, waiting to leap out at readers when they least expect it.

X Lives of Wolverine #2continues Wolverine's journey through the past and has him breaking one of the most cardinal rules of time travel in the process. I'm genuinely curious to see how future issues ofX LivesandX Deaths of Wolverine continue the story, as Wolverine's mission is no doubt going to alter the X-Men's future in some way.

Dark Knights of Steel #4reveals the origin of its medieval universe's Batman, which is laced with equal amounts of tragedy and triumph. It also makes for a great interlude in the ongoing story, and I wouldn't be surprised if we get another issue like this down the line.

Justice League Incarnate #4 revisits the past and present of the DC Universe to set up its finale, which very well could affect the future of DC's heroes. With one issue left in the series, I look forward to how the second part of Williamson's "Infinite" saga wraps up.

Savage Spider-Man #1is mostly carried by its concept and artwork, as it continues the story threads laid down inNon-Stop Spider-Man. I highly recommend readingNon-Stop Spider-Man before picking up this book, or if you're into horror just pick it up from the get-go and enjoy the artwork. Hopefully, future issues will continue to flesh out the story and explore the horror-themed aspects of its story.

Amazing Spider-Man #87once again turns its focus on Peter Parker as Captain America and Black Cat work to get him in web-slinging shape.

Avengers Forever #2 makes some questionable choices with its narrative as it begins to explore the mystery behind Robbie Reyes' transformation into the Ghost Rider. The next issue promises to unite Robbie and Deathlok with the Invincible Ant-Man and his surviving Avengers, which should deliver on the promise of the series.

Power Rangers Universe #2continues its expansion of the Power Rangers mythos, including forging the first-ever team of Power Rangers. With the Rangers now in control of their newfound powers, I'm looking forward to seeing how they take the fight to Dark Spector.

This has been one of the best Doctor Strange stories I've ever read, and if you're looking to read something featuring the good doctor before Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, you can't go wrong with this one.

DC Vs Vampires #4finally unifies Batman and Green Arrow in their battle against the undead but also takes things from bad to worse with the vampire invasion. With the series' "first act" essentially completed, it remains to be seen how the Dark Knight and the Emerald Archer escape this predicament - and who else will oppose or join them.

The Harbinger #4 delivers mind-melting artwork combined with an emotionally taxing story as the series' first story arc comes to an end.

Peacemaker: Disturbing The Peace #1offers a new origin for Christopher Smith, though its stellar artwork can't make up for the lack of originality or the fact that Gath Ennis is scraping his bag of tricks. Those looking for Peacemaker comics to read after watchingThe Suicide Squad and/or Peacemaker would be better off reading the currentSuicide Squad series.

Static: Season One #5races toward the series' grand finale by delivering a rematch between Static and Hotstreak, and introducing a few new villains in the process. I can't wait for the final episode, and hopefully, a "Static: Season Two" announcement because Virgil Hawkins' return has been nothing short of electrifying.

Mary Jane/Black Cat: Beyond #1features an unorthodox team-up between the two most important ladies in Peter Parker's life, resulting in a fast-paced and funny tale. Between this story and the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man #87, which is slated to debut later this week, I'm glad MacKay has joined the Beyond Saga.

Black Panther #3celebrates the past, present, and future of Wakanda's king courtesy of a collection of all-star creators. I look forward to seeing what role Tosin plays in Ridley's run, as well as the identity of these mystery assassins and their vendetta against Wakanda.

Marauders Annual #1reforms the seafaring mutant team, as a new team of creatives takes the wheel of theMarauder. With the final page teasing a mystery that Kate seems to be at the heart of, I look forward to what Orlando and artist Eleonora Carlini have in store.

We Have Demons #3 ends the series' first story arc in gloriously gory style while serving as a meditation on the nature of faith. I have no idea when to expect future issues, but I hope this series continues for a long time " Snyder and Capullo make a wonderful team, and We Have Demons is proof that their partnership can flourish outside of the Big Two.

Arrowsmith: Behind Enemy Lines #1marks the start of Kurt Busiek's creator-owned reign at Image, with Carlos Pacheco delivering a world that straddles the line between history and fantasy. Whether or not you've read the firstArrowsmith series, this is a comic that has a little something for everyone and is definitely worth the read.

Amazing Spider-Man #86 is a character-focused look into the worst day of Ben Reilly's life and kicks the second half of the Beyond Saga into high gear. Given how the issue ends, I'm curious to see how Ben pulls himself out of this spiral, and whether this is what convinces Peter Parker to don his webs again.

Hulk #3travels to an alternate universe, upping the violence and terror in the process. The next issue hints at a battle royale between different Hulks, and given what the creative team has cooked up fans are in for a treat.

King Spawn #6 completes the first arc of the series, bringing back another figure from the hellish antihero's past and delivering a grisly battle in the process. This series continues to be an impressive addition to the Spawn universe, and I recommend that Spawn fans old and new add it to their reading lists if they haven't already.

Venom #4 delivers new twists and turns into its narrative, with the Lethal Protector facing off against the Life Foundation's machinations. I don't know where the series is headed, but it seems to be leaning into the cosmic horror elements of Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman's run and I'm all for that.

Aquaman: The Becoming #5 serves as the final step of Jackson Hyde's journey in becoming Aquaman, as he cements his place in the world. With one issue left in the miniseries, I look forward to seeing Jackson becoming the hero he was always meant to be.

Batman: The Knight #1 takes a different angle to Bruce Wayne's early days, showing how the persona of Batman was built over time. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Hopefully, Batman fans or those growing tired of Batman will also enjoy it.

Ben Reilly: Spider-Man #1 revisits the Scarlet Spider's past, diving deep into Ben Reilly's state of mind as he starts out as Spider-Man. If you've been enjoying the Beyond Saga or you are a fan of Ben Reilly as a character, this should definitely be on your pull list.

Silk #1brings a new writer and a new threat for Cindy Moon to face while keeping the same artists and the same grasp on characterization that's made her a beloved figure in the Spider-Man mythos. I look forward to future issues and hope that fans make their voices heard if they want to see more of Cindy's adventures.

Silver Surfer: Rebirth #1works as both a throwback to the '90s era of comics and as an exploration of Norrin Radd's character development. Whether you enjoyed Marz's original run on Silver Surfer or you're looking to learn more about the Sentinel of the Spaceways, this is a great start.

X Lives of Wolverine #1launches what may be the most epic Wolverine story ever, with the clawed Canadian fighting for the future of the X-Men. WithX Deaths of Wolverinelaunching next week, X-Men fans won't have to wait long to see the other side of this time crossing saga.

Amazing Spider-Man #85 hits the halfway point of the Beyond Saga, handing Ben Reilly a pyrrhic victory and testing his resolve as Spider-Man.

Dark Ages #4begins the second half of the series with a battle on the high seas as the creative team continues to fire on all cylinders.

Darkhawk #5 ends the series with a final issue that's equal parts emotional and action-packed, completing the origin of Marvel's newest teenage hero.

The Scorched #1features Spawn's allies forming their own team and leans into the convention of ensemble comics to explore a new corner of Spawn's Universe. If you have been following King Spawn or looking to get into Spawn, I highly suggest reading this book because Lewis is proving to be one of the hellish hero's best writers.

I Am Batman #5 mostly acts as a transitional stage for Jace Fox and his family, with a strong story making up for inconsistent artwork. Hopefully, the next story arc, "Empire State of Mind," addresses the problems with this title by finding a singular artist and a new identity away from Gotham.

The Death of Doctor Strange: Bloodstone #1 serves as a departure from the main storyline by focusing on the one character equipped to handle magical chaos, as well as her own family issues. Given how the one-shot ends, I would not be opposed to an ongoing series centered on the exploits of the Bloodstone family.

Daredevil: Woman Without Fear #1turns the spotlight on Elektra Natchios, exploring her past and present and throwing her into the thick ofDevil's Reign. With the next issue pitting her against a classic supervillain, this miniseries is looking to be an essential part of Chip Zdarsky's run on Daredevil.

Inferno #4 brings Jonathan Hickman's tenure on the X-Men to a close, but it also solidifies his influence on the mutant heroes' mythos.

Nocterra: Blacktop Bill Special #1 peels back the layers of the series' antagonist, revealing just how much of a terrifying figure he really is. With Nocterra's success and its upcoming adaptation into a Netflix series, I look forward to more specials that flesh out this dark and horrifying world.

Dark Knights of Steel #3adds fuel to the fire of its main conflict as the House of El and Kingdom of Storms go to war. The next issue aims to explore the secret history of Batman within this world, which I'm looking forward to due to the revelation surrounding his heritage in the first issue.

Justice League Infinity #7 offers a satisfying conclusion to its universe-hopping narrative and proves to be a worthy continuation of the DC Animated Universe, thanks to its creative team.

Justice League Incarnate #3 scatters its team across the Multiverse and explores a wide variety of DC's heroes and villains in the process. With the issue revealing an "Oblivion Machine" that threatens all of reality, it looks like JLI will need to speed up the reassembly process if they want to save all of existence.

Blood on Sunset #1 takes time to set up the supernatural elements of its story, though the art and dialogue are extremely reminiscent of a noir film. Hopefully, the next issue delves deeper into the supernatural elements while continuing to flesh out its mystery.

Fans of Power Rangerswhether it's the TV show or Boom Studios' other Ranger comicswill definitely want to pick this up, as it's been hinted that Universewill have major ramifications for the world of Power Rangers.

Aquaman: The Becoming #4 upends Jackson Hyde's life in devestating fashion, leaving him at a crossroads with his mother. With only two issues left in the miniseries, I'm ready to see how Jackson weathers this tragedy to become Aquaman and how it carries over into the Aquamen series.

X-Men: The Trial of Magneto #5serves as the conclusion to a convoluted and ultimately disappointing story that redeems the Scarlet Witch but fails to put the spotlight on Magneto.

Catwoman: Lonely City #2 sets up the heist of Selina Kyle's life while also exploring how Gotham City has changed in the wake of Batman's death. With one more issue to go, I'm looking forward to seeing how it all ends and hope Chiang tackles more solo projects in the future.

Justice League Incarnate #2 dives deep into the Multiverse, visiting a multitude of worlds and catching up with characters old and new. With the members of Incarnate scattered across the cosmos and unable to stop Darkseid, it remains to be seen if the worlds they're on contain friends or foes.

Amazing Spider-Man #82 is a perfectly constructed standalone issue, veering into horror territory as Saladin Ahmed and Jorge Fornes put Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson into a horror movie. The next issue sees the return of Patrick Gleason to the title, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does-especially considering how great this issue was.

Avengers Forever #1 cracks open the Multiverse, promising to unite the mightiest heroes of every Earth in Marvel's history. I look forward to seeing who else joins Ghost Rider's new team, as some great characters in the Marvel Multiverse could use the spotlight.

King Spawn #5 reveals another foe connected to the hellish antihero's past and raises a new mystery surrounding his origins. All of these foes should keep an old adage in mind: when you come for the King, you'd better not miss.

Cloaked #1 throws its hat into the "realistic superhero" ring with a noir-inspired tale, featuring script work from none other than the founder of Dark Horse Comics. I hope that the remaining issues start to flesh out the mystery and make this comic stand out in a crowded line of offerings.

Amazing Spider-Man #81 welcomes Saladin Ahmed and Carlos Gomez to the creator's table and shines the spotlight on Ben Reilly and Miles Morales. With Ahmed continuing to explore this storyline in future issues of Amazing Spider-Man andSpider-Man: Miles Morales, one can imagine him becoming the main Spider-writer if he wished to hold that position.

Hulk #2 continues the "Smashtronaut" arc by plunging Bruce Banner into a not-quite final frontier, complete with a whammy of a final page. Things have only gotten interesting, and I hope to see what other surprises the creators have stored aboard Starship Hulk.

I Am Batman #4 tackles the fallout from Fear State and how it affects the Fox family, but ultimately serves as little more than a setup for the series' next story arc. With said story arc taking Jace and his family to New York City, I hope a fresh start for the Fox family is also a second chance for the series to find its footing.

Tis The Season To Be Freezin #1 will put DC fans in the holiday spirit, as their favorite characters get into the Christmas spirit. I definitely recommend it to readers of all shapes and sizes; at least one of these tales will put a smile on your face.

The Thing #2 features an earth-shattering battle between Ben Grimm and a new enemy while introducing a new friend and love interest for the Fantastic Four's powerhouse. I'm looking forward to the next issue, as I'm sure Mot isn't done tormenting Ben just yet. Set your clocks it's clobberin' time.

Amazing Spider-Man #80 BEY places Peter Parker's fate in the hands of his Aunt May and Doctor Octopus, resulting in a surprisingly engaging adventure. The ending not only resolves one of the Beyond Saga's subplots, but it sets up another one by igniting a battle between Doctor Octopus and the Beyond Corporation. I love that these one-shots continue to flesh out the Beyond Saga, and I look forward to the next one.

Buffy: The Last Vampire Slayer #1 envisions a dark future for the titular heroine and contains the same blend of horror and humor that made the TV series a hit. The Buffyverse continues to grow at BOOM! Studios and the shape it's taking should appeal to fans old and new.

Star Wars: Crimson Reign #1 delves into the criminal underworld of theStar Wars universe, and adds depth to its leader. With this series andThe Book of Boba Fett, we're getting to see a darker side toStar Wars and I welcome it. If you lovedWar of the Bounty Hunters or Soule's previous Star Wars work, this is the comic for you.

The Death of Doctor Strange: Blade #1 explores the Daywalker's state of mind and provides plenty of swordfights and vampire slaying. I highly recommend picking it up; hopefully, these one-shots lead to Blade getting his own series.

Justice League Infinity #6sets the stage for the series finale by pitting the League against an enemy who is all but invincible. The best superhero stories often have their protagonists persevere against impossible odds, so I hope the final issue continues in that trend.

Captain America/Iron Man #1 highlights the complicated friendship between the Sentinel of Liberty and the Armored Avenger, while also pitting them against a threat that ties into both of their histories. Though this is a miniseries, I wouldn't mind seeing more team-ups between Cap and Iron Man in the future.

Sir Edward Grey: Acheron #1 is a haunting look at one of the most mysterious beings of the Hellboy universe, and marks Mike Mignola's return to writing and illustrating comics. Hopefully, this is only the beginning of a resurgence, as I'm happy to read anything Mignola puts on the page whether it's Hellboy related or not.

Darkhawk #4 sees the winged hero joining forces with Miles Morales and Captain America while embracing his new superhero identity. With one issue left, I look forward to the series conclusion and I hope this isn't the end of Connor Young's time in the Marvel Universe.

Venom #2 officially passes the mantle of the Lethal Protector to Dylan Brock, as he struggles to live in a world without his father. With the arrival of a new supporting character, and the threat of the Life Foundation, Dylan definitely has his work cut out for him.

X-Men: The Trial of Magneto #4 makes the baffling choice to sideline its titular character to the point where the series should have been given a different title. With only one issue left, I at least hope the series ends on a high note and puts the focus back on Magneto while resolving the identity of the Scarlet Witch's murderer.

Justice League Incarnate #1 puts the spotlight on the multiverse-hopping team, introducing new members and giving them a new mission. As a fan of the team, I look forward to the remainder of the series and a potential setup for future issues.

Avengers #750 is a super-sized setup for future Avengers stories that could have used more fine-tuning, though there is some promise in the story and art. I look forward to the release of Avengers Forever, and more of the Masters of Evil wreaking havoc across the multiverse.

Joy Operations #1 is a mixed bag, boasting a confusing and lackluster script but interior art and worldbuilding that's extremely impressive. I hope that the rest of the series, and Bendis' other Jinxworld efforts, have a better debut.

The Death of Doctor Strange: Spider-Man #1 highlights the importance that its titular characters have in the Marvel Universe and the insanity of Doctor Strange's magical world. With theDeath of Doctor Strange storyline heading to a close, I look forward to the next one-shot, which features Blade in a leading role.

The Harbinger #2 throws multiple roadblocks into Peter Stanchek's road to redemption, including literally fighting his inner demons. With the next issue slated to introduce Peter's superhero costume, the book looks to put its own spin on the "teenage superhero" trope, and I look forward to it. Long live the Harbinger.

Radiant Black #10 is a masterpiece in every sense of the word, from the emotionally taxing story to the gravity-bending artwork and colors. If you've been following the series, this issue is the culmination of multiple plot threads the series has set up. And I have to say that it's the most visually arresting comic I've read this year

Star Wars: Life Day #1 delves into the history of the galaxy's oldest holiday, as Chewbacca and Han Solo celebrate in their own ways. If Chewbacca is your favorite character or you're looking to get into the holiday spirit, you'll definitely want to pick this book up

The Death of Doctor Strange #3 has moments both heartwarming and horrifying, as the Earth faces Armageddon without the Sorcerer Supreme. With two issues left, and the promise of a new Sorcerer Supreme, this story looks to be closing out in style.

X-Men #5 is a stumble from the series' previous hot streak, featuring some baffling storytelling and character decisions. Hopefully, the next issue will keep characterization in focus as it introduces the newest member of the mutant heroes.

DC Vs Vampires #2 finds a clever way to deliver exposition by utilizing a blend of horror and humor, along with some excellent character work. Hopefully, the next issue brings more vampire action into the mix, and I hope to see other heroes get in on the fight against the undead.

Black Panther #1 shifts the King of Wakanda's focus from interstellar matters to a spy adventure, as John Ridley and Juann Cabal take over the title.

Dark Ages #3 threatens the paradise the Marvel heroes have built for themselves, as one hero meets their end and Apocalypse plans to live up to his namesake. The end of the issue teases another hero undergoing a horrifying transformation. Since we're now at the halfway point, I fully expect the creators to punch other readers and me in the heart again.

Shang-Chi #6 concludes the Master of Kung-Fu's battle against the Marvel Universe with a decision that promises to have repercussions on his life. However, with the next arc promising to explore how Shang-Chi's parents met and introducing a new enemy, his troubles are far from over.

Aquaman: The Becoming #3marks the halfway point of the series, finally revealing the mysterious villain Deluge and their connection to Aqualad. With three issues left, Jackson Hyde's path to becoming Aquaman just hit a major roadblock and has set the stage for an unexpected family reunion.

Wonder Woman: Evolution #1 is a slow, but solid start to a story tailored around the principles the Amazing Amazon stands for. The general concept is definitely a hell of a hook for a Wonder Woman story, and I hope future issues make the most of it.

Amazing Spider-Man #78.BEY places the focus on the Daughters of the Dragon, resulting in a comic that plays like a superhero buddy movie. With the Daughters now wary of Beyond's CEO Maxine Danger, and enlisting the help of another superhero, I look forward to seeing more of their antics in the Beyond Saga. In fact, I'm continuing to hope that more adventures await them in the future.

We Have Demons #2 continues to escalate the war between humanity and demons while exploring how faith can be a driving force for others. With the issue ending on a hell of a cliffhanger (pun completely intended), the next installment is slated for an explosive & emotional confrontation and I can't wait to see how it all shakes out.

Amazing Spider-Man #78completes another story in the Beyond Era by placing Ben Reilly on death's door and spotlighting the Daughters of the Dragon. With another classic Spidey foe slated for the next issue, Spider-fans will definitely want to either jump back on or start reading this book.

Mighty Morphin #13 launches a new crossover event in the form of the Eltarian War, as the Power Rangers face one of the greatest threats they've ever known. If you've been looking to get into the Power Rangers comics or enjoyed the Shattered Grid storyline, this is the perfect hopping on point.

Despite lacking a connection to the "Fear State" storyline and a solid art style, I Am Batman #3 manages to deliver a solid action story that touches upon the complicated relationships of the Fox family. I hope that future issues continue building up Ridley's take on the Batman mythos and that a solid artistic team is found in the process.

The Thing #1 delves into a mystery from Ben Grimm's past, with the creative team reminding the audience why he's a beloved character. With the Fantastic Four set to gain even more prominence in the coming years with the upcoming "Reckoning War" event in their main title and a future installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I expect to see more of Ben Grimm in the future. And I look forward to the rest of this miniseries, as the ending promises even more trouble for the Fantastic Four's bedrock.

Venom #1 continues to explore the Lethal Protector's cosmic horror roots while setting up a new status quo for both Eddie & Dylan Brock. If you enjoyed the previous Venom saga or enjoyed Venom: Let There Be Carnage, I definitely recommend adding this to your pull list.

Radiant Black #9 serves as a solid character piece and a meditation on grief, as the titular hero comes to grips with possibly losing his friend. With the next issue slated to take place inside of a black hole, this series shows no signs of slowing down, and I welcome it.

Crossover #9 continues to unravel the mystery of the Comics Creator Killer while also diving into the deeper implications of comic book characters spilling into the real world. With the issue ending on another murder and a huge clue concerning the Killer, the mystery has only deepened, which only stokes my interest in the eventual reveal. And with how well the creative team has been doing, I expect the reveal to be mind-blowing and satisfying.

Darkhawk #3 continues to humanize its hero, as it shows him dealing with an unfathomable loss. The end of the issue, as well as the cover for Darkhawk #4, promises a team-up with two other Marvel heroes and I can't wait to see it. With how well-constructed and engaging this series is, I hope we don't see the last of Connor Young when it's over.

Inferno #2 continues to build to the end of the first Krakoan Age, revealing how the Quiet Council's secrets and lies may spell danger for the X-Men. I'm not sure where the next two issues will bring for the series, but knowing Hickman's previous work it'll more than likely end as it began with the X-Men undergoing a massive change.

Justice League Infinity #5 is an action-packed flashback that features Superman and the Justice Alliance battling against a horde of Nazis and sets the stage for the series finale. With only two issues left, the Multiverse is at stakeand the answer to saving all of existence is out of reach.

Nita Hawes' Nightmare Blog #1 is a great example of how to launch a spinoff series, with the same well-rounded characters and heart-stopping horror that madeKilladelphia a hit. If you're a fan of Image's other horror comics, you'll definitely want to check this series out.

Static: Season One #4 kicks off the back half of the limited series by emphasizing the strength of Static's bond with his friends and family, along with a high-octane rematch with Hotstreak. With only two issues left in Season One, I can't wait to see how it all ends and hopefully read Season Two whenever it drops.

E.X.O: The Legend of Wale Williams, Vol. 1 brings an Afrofuturist spin to the superhero genre and is a recommended read for comic fans of all stripes. I cannot wait to see the other books that YouNeek and Dark Horse have in store for this initiative, and I hope to see more of Wale Williams' exploits in the future.

The Death of Doctor Strange: Avengers #1 continues to explore the effect the Sorcerer Supreme's passing has had on the Marvel Universe, this time centering Earth's Mightiest Heroes. With a hint that the worst is only yet to come for Earth, the Avengers and the rest of the Marvel heroes are in for one of the biggest fights of their lives.

Hellboy: The Bones of Giants #1 is a solid start to an adaptation of the novel it's based on, as the world's greatest paranormal investigator is swept into a web of mystery and mythology. And judging from the last page, it looks like Ragnarok is only the beginning for Hellboy.

Amazing Spider-Man #77 takes a bit of a breather in the Beyond Saga, delving deeper into the Beyond Corporation and presenting new challenges for Ben Reilly to face. Unfortunately, though he's trying to be a better Spider-Man, Ben may have inherited the infamous "Parker Luck," and the cliffhanger at the end only reinforces that.

King Spawn #3 pits the hellish antihero against one of his oldest foes, leaning all the way into its war and horror elements. This book continues to expand the world of Spawn in the best way, and I recommend it to both Spawn fans and newcomers to the character. Like Mel Brooks said: "It's good to be the King."

Aquaman: The Becoming #2 sends its hero on the run while bringing themes of persecution and prejudice to the forefront. With Jackson now considered an enemy of Atlantis, his road to becoming Aquaman will be more complicated than he thought.

Darkhold: Blade #1 brings the Daywalker's worst nightmare to life, courtesy of a creative team who has nothing but love for Blade. Not only would I read a whole series based on this concept, but it also whetted my appetite for an ongoing Blade series.

Gunslinger Spawn #1 gives one of the most popular characters in the Spawn mythology his own title, favoring style over substance for its debut. Spawn fans will no doubt enjoy it, though other readers may prefer the various other Spawn titles. I hope that future issues flesh out Gunslinger more and craft a compelling story.

The Orville: Artifacts #1 continues to expand the world ofThe Orville, featuring the same balance of science-fiction and comedy that made the show a great watch. If you're a fan ofThe Orville, I highly suggest picking this book up along with the other series while waiting forThe Orville: New Horizons to premiere next year on Hulu.

The Magic Order 2 #1 is a solid start to the sequel series, though it requires knowledge of the previous series to fully appreciate the story. If you are looking for a new urban fantasy story, I highly suggest checking out the firstMagic Order miniseries and then reading this issue. I also feel like we'll see more about the planned Netflix adaptation as more issues go on sale.

Catwoman: Lonely City #1 features an older Selina Kyle attempting to pull off one last heist, along with and the full range of Cliff Chiang's artistic talents. While the "hero in a dystopian setting" is a well-worn road at this point and often yields mixed results, I can safely recommend it to longtime Batman fans.

Phoenix Song: Echo #1 places Maya Lopez back in the spotlight while exploring her heritage and newfound connection to the Phoenix Force. Not only is this a perfect read for Marvel fans of all stripes, but it is also a good jumping-on point for new fans. With the ending promising a new enemy for Maya, and the second issue hinting at conflict with the X-Men, this series is off to a hell of a start.

Amazing Spider-Man #76 expertly balances action with emotion, as Ben Reilly and Peter Parker wrestle with mental and emotional challenges. With the Beyond era fully set up, I look forward to what the creative team of Kelly Thompson and Sara Pichelli bring to the table in two weeks.

Star Wars: The High Republic-Trail of Shadows #1combines the world ofthe High Republic with a noir tale, adding elements of horror along the way. This series is off to a great start, and the ending suggests the mystery has only begun.

X-Men #4 is the perfect example of how to do a holiday-themed issue, as it leans into the Halloween atmosphere and serves as a character piece for Jean Grey. I'd recommend other creators to look at this comic if they plan to do their own holiday-themed issues. And even though this issue is a bit of a 'breather episode,' it ends with a new foe heading to the X-Men's newly terraformed nation of Arakko.

I Am Batman #2 may not be a big part of the Fear State storyline, but it still manages to delve deep into Jace Fox's mindset as Batman. With the issue ending with the promise of a confrontation between Jace and the Moral Authority, the new Dark Knight has his work cut out for him. And hopefully, the next issue will feature stronger ties to Fear State.

Black Panther Legends #1 offers a new take on the hero's origin and serves as a great introduction to the character for new fans. If you loved the Black Panther film, or want to know more about the character, I'd highly suggest picking this series up. And the next issue looks to continue exploring T'Challa's origins by revisiting his first meeting with another Marvel hero-in particular, one with who he shares a strong connection.

Amazing Spider-Man #75launches the Beyond Saga, as Peter Parker deals with emotional stress and Ben Reilly gets a new lease on life. This is the perfect jumping-on point for Spidey fans old and new, and I would definitely recommend it to Reilly's fans as well. Hopefully, the upcoming weeks will keep up this momentum, as this saga is set to lead into Spidey's 60th anniversary.

Dark Ages #2 fleshes out its version of the Marvel Universe, with heroes united for a better cause and one villain threatening to burn it all down. Even though the series is only two issues deep, it's hooked me, and I wouldn't mind seeing more spinoffs in the vein of Injustice orDCeasedset in this universe.

Mighty Morphin #12 brings several plot points to a head via character interactions, setting the stage for the upcoming Eltarian War storyline. The biggest Power Rangers storyline since Shattered Grid is on the horizon, and I hope my fellow Ranger fans pick up the following issues because I have the feeling they're in for something special.

We Have Demons #1 is a darkly delightful addition to the action/horror genre that reunites Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo for their first creator-owned comic. Though the comic bears some similarities to previous works, it is a strong beginning for Snyder's exclusive deal with ComiXology. Fans of films like UnderworldorArmy of Darkness, along with those who followed Snyder & Capullo's Batman saga, will want to give it a read.

Justice League Infinity #4serves as a solid character piece for Wonder Woman while exploring different versions of the DC Animated Universe and its characters. It's an issue that deals with some heavy themes, but the ending promises to fully unite the League and send them on a path to salvation. And it's the issue that continues to solidify this as one of my favorite books on the stands.

The Harbinger #1 reinvents Valiant's most popular comic book property, setting up a series of mysteries and continuing the same blend of teenage drama and superheroic action that is the series' trademark. Longtime Valiant readers, along with fans looking to pick up a new comic book series, should add this to their reading lists.

Crossover #8 launches the new story arc "Meanwhile," shifting genres while expanding upon the series' metafictional elements. The book is now shifting from a quest storyline to a murder mystery, and I hope that the creators continue to experiment with the form and genreit's what makes this comic so exciting!

Amazing Spider-Man #875 features a collection of all-star artists celebrating the web-slinger and marks the end of Nick Spencer's run on the title. Spencer's run had its ups and downs, but overall I feel comfortable placing him in the upper echelon of Spidey writers with J.M. DeMatteis and J. Michael Straczynski. And hopefully, the upcoming "Beyond" era will continue to deliver great Spidey stories as Ben Reilly once again takes up the mantle.

Darkhawk #2 continues its protagonist's superhero journey, adding a heavy dose of emotional weight along the way. I appreciate the work the creative team is doing to make Connor a fully fleshed-out character, and I also appreciate that Higgins is using the "Air Space" column in the back of the book to reach out to real-life people and experts about MS. I can only hope that other writers are willing to put in this level of effort when creating characters.

Inferno #1 begins Jonathan Hickman's final X-Men story, promising a day of reckoning for the mutant heroes. With their leadership undergoing a massive upheaval and Nimrod's evolution into the perfect killing machine, the days of Krakoa's paradise may be numbered. And as someone who's been with the new X-era sinceHouse of X/Powers of X, I'm curious to see how it all ends.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #4 has triumph and tragedy in equal measure, building up to a grand finale. As a lifelong Turtles fan, this comic has made me cry, cheer and gasp out loud. This is shaping up to be one of the best TMNT tales ever told, and I can't wait to see how it all ends.

Superman '78 #2continues to flesh out the Donnerverse, as Superman seeks help from Lex Luthor while battling the forces of Brainiac. With a shocking cliffhanger ending, the stakes have been raised significantly-and this may be one fight the Man of Steel can't win.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #30 is a wonderful celebration of Miles Morales's 10th anniversary, highlighting the many things that fans have grown to love about the young web-slinger. Whether you've been following Miles's adventures since Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man, enjoyed Into The Spider-Verse, or loved playingMarvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales you'll want to pick up this comic.

Aquaman: The Becoming #1 serves as the beginning of a new status quo for Jackson Hyde, featuring a new enemy and a life-altering series of events. If you are a fan of the Aquaman mythos or theYoung Justice animated series, you'll definitely want to pick up this series. Between this series and the upcomingAquaman/Green Arrow: The Target miniseries, Thomas looks to be putting his own unique spin on the Aquaman mythos.

Fantastic Four: Life Story #4 shifts its focus to the 1990s and delivers a great character piece for Ben Grimm in the process. With the next issue finally set to bring Galactus to Earth, the question remains: What happens next? And will the Four survive this particular confrontation with the Devourer of Worlds?

Kang the Conqueror #2has the feel of a massive sci-fi blockbuster, drawing upon the time-traveling tyrant's history to craft a conflict that spans through time and space. With the ending of this issue, as well as the cover to the next issue, it looks like Nathaniel's war against his future self is only beginning, and is slated to draw in a few more fan-favorite villains from the Marvel Universe.

X-Men: The Trial of Magneto #2 is packed full of emotion and action, as the Master of Magnetism wrestles with his angst as well as his fellow mutants. With a jaw-dropper of an ending and three issues left, it seems like this is one murder mystery that doesn't fit conventions.

Batman: Urban Legends #7 paints different futures for the Dark Knight but ultimately shows that no matter the era, Batman will remain a constant. With a new Batman Beyond series teased for next year, this is one of the strongest issues thatUrban Legendshas put out so far.

Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. 1957Family Ties #1 uses the horror genre as a vehicle to explore toxic family bonds and serves as a great Hellboy stand-alone to boot. If you are a fan of Hellboy, whether it's the comics or Guillermo del Toro's take on the horned hero, you will definitely want to pick this book up.

I Am Batman #1 continues John Ridley's take on the Batman mythos introducing new challenges for Jace Fox's Dark Knight. With the next issue poised to introduce a new take on one of Batman's foes, it looks as though Ridley, Copiel, and Sinclair will be sticking around for a while in this new version of Gotham City.

Mighty Morphin #11begins the road to the Eltarian War, packing its pages full of drama and action. With revelations flying fast and furious about the secret origins of Zordon and Lord Zedd, the Power Rangers are looking to be in for the fight of their lives. And given how great this title has been, I expect the Eltarian War to be as epic as its title sounds.

Infinite Frontier #6 ends the multiverse-spanning series while setting up new stories for DC's comic book slate in 2022. Williamson has proven himself to be one of the strongest writers in DC's stable with this title, and he should continue to hold that title as he is slated to take over writing duties for Batman as well as the upcomingJustice League Incarnateminiseries.

Justice League Infinity #3 continues to live up to the series' title by introducing a new version of the Justice League and continuing to break down reality. With the surprise appearance of a feared villain from theDC Animated Universe, it's clear that the creative team intends to use the multiverse's unraveling as a way to further the story ofJustice League Unlimited while going in unexpected directions. I cannot wait to read the next issue.

Last Flight Out #1 is not just a well-crafted science fiction comic; it's also a tale of a father's devotion to his daughter at the end times. Dark Horse adds another great series to its list alongside creator-owned titles such as Hellboy andBlack Hammer. Fans of Ad Astra andArrival will definitely want to give this series a read.

Sinister War #4 has all the action and drama of a Spider-Man story cranked up to 11, as it paves the way for the end of Nick Spencer's run on the web-slinger. After reading this miniseries, I can safely say that he hewed to the old adage of "go big or go home" and it worked like gangbusters. I truly can't wait to see how the last three and a half years of Spidey stories pay off.

Infinite Frontier #5 gathers all of its major players and a few new faces from the Multiverse, leading to a final showdown on Earth-Omega. With only one more issue to go, the first major event of the Infinite Frontier era is looking to end on a high note. It is also cementing Williamson as DC's newest go-to writer after Scott Snyder and Brian Michael Bendis.

Static: Season One #3 hits the series' halfway point by cementing the unique bonds Virgil Hawkins has with his friends and family. The next issue promises a rematch with Hotstreak, and now that Virgil has a costume and better control of his powers, I'm eager to see how that turns out.

Dark Ages #1 launches a new version of the Marvel Universe which subverts the usual dystopia tropes and features top-notch work from its creative team. Fans of Taylor and Coello's previous works will definitely want to add this to their pull list, while fans of books such as The Hunger Games and The Maze Runner will find a comic that hews to their tastes.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation #3 unveils the secret origin of Evil-Lyn, which takes some unexpected yet tragic turns. Only one issue remains, and it promises to lead right up to the premiere episode ofRevelation. Hopefully, the series ends as strong as it began.

Darkhawk #1 revamps the winged hero for a new generation, giving him a new identity and challenges to overcome. Even if you know nothing about Darkhawk, this comic is worth a read. Between this, Radiant Black, and his work on Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers and co-writing Marvel's Ultraman saga Higgins is becoming a master of applying Tokusatsu tropes to the superhero genre; Ramirez is also shaping up to be an artist to keep an eye on.

King Spawn #1 is the first stepping stone in Spawn's Universe, launching a new mission for the hellish antihero while introducing new allies and enemies into his crusade. I definitely recommend this book for newcomers to theSpawn franchise, as well as longtimeSpawn fans. It also proves that Spawn is more than capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with Marvel and DC's most popular heroes.

Marvel's Voices: Identityis a wonderful celebration of the House of Ideas' AAPI heroes, packed to the brim with stories that are heartwarming and emotional in equal measure. TheMarvel's Voices one-shots have been a great way to spotlight various creators across the spectrums of race and sexuality, with the upcoming Marvel's Voices: Comunidades slated to focus on Marvel's Latinx heroes, that tradition doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon.

Spider-Man: Life Story Annual #1 serves as a great character piece for J. Jonah Jameson, and returns to one of the best modern-day Spider-Man stories in the process. Zdarsky continues to prove himself as one of the strongest writers in Marvel's stable, and I'm game for more of his Spidey stories. It's clear that he has a deep love for the web-slinger and genuinely inventive ideas for what to do with him and his supporting cast.

Kang the Conqueror #1 offers an introspective look at the time-traveling tyrant's life and promises to unravel his complicated history. If you are a fan of character-driven high-concept science fiction, or you want to learn more about Kang following the Season 1 finale of Loki, I'd suggest giving this book a read. With Jonathan Majors set to portray Kang in Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, the timing for this series couldn't be more perfect.

Nocterra #6 marks the end of the series' first story arc, blending notes of horror and hope along the way while setting up future stories. With Snyder set to expand his collection of creator-owned titles under his Best Jackett Press label, I look forward to all of his projects as well as future installments of Nocterra.

Radiant Black #7 kicks off its second story arc by continuing to upend tokusatsu tropes while also building upon the series' mythology. This series continues to be one of the best superhero books on the stands and serves as a harbinger of things to come for Higgins' Black Market Narrative creative collective. With the first volume of Radiant Black on sale this week, I highly recommend giving it a read if you haven't already.

Superman and the Authority #2takes a unique approach to team-building, giving each member a chance to shine as the Man of Steel builds a new team. The next issue promises to see the team escape from Hellwhich means there will be a literal trial by fire. So far, this creative team has excelled at delivering upon the promise of the series and I hope they continue to do so with the two remaining issues.

Superman: Red & Blue #6wraps up the series with stories that deviate from the titular color scheme but are still heartfelt and impactful. If you are a Superman fan, you owe it to yourself to pick up this series when it's collected in trade form.
