It's a no holds barred battle amongst the rubble of Beyond Corp as ‘Miles Morales: Spider-Man' #9 pits the title character against the unhinged and even deadlier Hobgoblin, pulling back the curtain on the villain's true motivations. Every bit of energy put into these pages continues to create one of the best Miles series that we've ever gotten.

‘Monarch' #2 builds off the solid foundation building of the first issue in order to flesh out this new world even more, throwing in quite a bit of lore about our potential series foes but also the main character of it all. It very well could be Nightwing at the finest that he's ever been.

This art team has brought new life and energy to Gotham City as a whole and that continues here as they flex their muscles with making Gotham's sewers energetic but also truly utterly terrifying to boot.

Detective Comics wraps up its entry into the Fear State, by doing its own thing with a confined horror story centered around two men hashing things out and potentially building a better future. This series shines when it can tell tighter down to Earth stories, that allow the artistic team free reign to showcase just how beautiful scary creepy, and stunning Gotham City and its events can be.

With this issue we're delivered an ending that is also a solid beginning, casting an eye towards what is to come in Detective Comics for 2022. The character-centric street-level focus of this book continues to make it one of the best runs of this book in quite some time, and should only get better as it delves deeper into the bat-family as a whole very soon.

Both stories of this book showcase a deep knowledge and love for the Batman-related portion of DC Comics, painting a beautiful picture of this flawed but still hopeful city they call home.

Shadows Of The Bat continues to create new mysteries while poking at the darkness that surrounds the shining new Arkham Tower, building more and more to the eventual collapse we've already been witness to. With ‘Shadows of the Bat' over, ‘Detective Comics' shifts focus and goes smaller scale again as the Riddler makes his big return and Batman races against time to solve a mystery that is putting Gothamites in serious danger. It's always great when Batman stories focus on and let the world's greatest detective do the detective thing and bring greater focus to characters alongside the action.

Bruce Wayne takes a bigger part in this ongoing Riddler mystery, as ‘Detective Comics' lives up to its name with some good old-fashioned character developing detective stories. Such a fantastic series that has captured some of the best street-level energy with the Bat family that we've seen in quite a few years.

Detective Comics' current run has come to a bittersweet yet perfect ending, never deviating from the fantastic character work that has been a paramount part of this series so far. Truly this is going to go down as one of those great runs that people look back on years from now and can consider it a pretty classic story that sits on their shelf to be read again and again.

Various threads from three series over the past three years begin to converge as Doctor Strange #5 takes a huge leap forward in the overall magical storylines. A colorful engaging series just gets better and better with every issue, bringing great life to a section of Marvel that can often be overlooked.

Eat The Rich continues to explore the realms of horror that come from some of the worst parts of our societal system, including how much some can overlook for their own benefit. This is truly one of the most visually distinct and unique looking books around and the art capture every horrific aspect of humanity and every piece of emotion from these engaging characters and their stories.

As Eat The Rich approaches its conclusion, young Joey Dorsey struggles with just how much one can accept as she makes a potentially fatal choice that will define her world and the lives of others in Crestfall Bluffs going forward. This series ominous and gorgeously horrific look into the world of the wealthy and the broken aspects of societal systems continues to be an impressive work that everyone should be checking out.

The team that brought us ‘Curse Words' is together again to ask the question of what happens when everyone on Earth is given the power to make one wish. This is a really fun and fantastical series so far that gets pretty darn wild, while it grounds itself for the moment within a small dive bar around a small very different cast of characters.

Eight Billion Genies lays out the groundwork for this wish-driven world and what might be on the way while ramping up the madness that has been unleashed by those who are too impulsive with the wishes they have been granted. A whimsical and fun story that is also tinged with pure horror because it gives an all too realistic view of what human nature will cause if humans were given such unfettered power over reality itself.

‘Guardians Of The Galaxy' #1 kicks off the space team's latest volume in dusty action-packed western fashion, throwing the characters into a chaotic space full of questions and few answers. Various inspirations are quite clear as this creative team does a solid job of doing something familiar but also new with these characters that have enjoyed a bit of rejuvenation and reinvention numerous times over the last decade or so.

Downtrodden superheroes with a sci-fi western flavoring is the perfect space for the ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy' to call home, even if the heroes are near their breaking point. Plenty of bright character moments with rougher elements coming into play through the visuals & overall story make this second entry of the series pretty solid.

A rough adventure continues to get even rougher as ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy' continues the title characters' overall fall from grace. Every bit of the issue works together seamlessly to return these characters to a new but also very familiar type of status quo.

One of the loneliest, yet heroic members of the ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy' takes the spotlight in another fantastically told sort of one-off solo chapter of this limited series saga. Every bit of the necessary mood is captured and delivered through the various levels of the artwork. Questions are answered and posed in both the easiest and the most emotional of ways.

Hellions continues to be a perfect mixture of the classic character developing soap opera style of old and the more modern approach to the entire X-Line. Really solid and engaging artwork kicks off the start of a story arc that promises to bring some big changes for the series as a whole. One of the best books of the new X-Men era, hands down.

The sins of Sinister's recent past plague the Hellions as the character depth and moments surrounding every character that appears on a page continue to make this one of the most solid and engaging books around. As things get darker and more brutal for the team the artwork matches this tone in the best ways possible.

Piece by piece the house that Sinister built continues to crumble as the lies that the Hellions have been built upon begin to rear their heads, one by one. One of the best titles of the X-Line continues to showcase why it has that distinction by presenting a beautiful ongoing character-focused storyline.

With 'Fear State' in full swing, the new Batman is put through a baptism of fire, making his presence known in a really tight and character/Gotham-focused first issue. Every Jace Fox putting so far has been brought to life by truly solid artistic teams and this issue is no different, as the team delivers a gorgeous depiction of Gotham city and the new Batman in action.

I Am Batman dives deep into the realm of Fear State as it tackles some close-to-home real-world issues and mulls over the nature of fear as Batman's greatest weapon and what happens when that fear is not there. Jace Fox's latest series cements him as a new type of Batman for a different world and is masterfully brought together by a rotating cast of creative stars.

'I Am Batman' takes an uncomfortable but realistic look into our current world state of affairs and the dangers that arise from a portion of society seeking someone to help them unleash their worst selves. Overall this series is benefitting from launching out of the current Batman title crossover event, while making sure it retains its own voice and focus along the way.

I Am Batman continues to become a stronger title as it continues, finding its own distinctive voice and direction that makes it stand out from the other Batman books in the line. Somehow a grounded Batman and the cops style book works far better than one might have assumed that it would.

'I Am Batman' comes to an overall satisfying conclusion that taps into the types of moments that made this series sing while avoiding the ones that held it back and creating opportunities for further exploration of this character and his world. Jace Fox is Batman and has made an impact, even if it's not been seen in the DC Universe as a whole, that can't be ignored. Hopefully, this is just a momentary goodbye to a character with so much potential left to explore.
