I don't think I have ever been so impressed with a comic book, the ending almost left me in tears. Ridley has written something really unique here that questions a lot of overlooked aspects of DC. Black Lightning is now one of my favourite comic book superheroes.

He did it again...

Easily my favourite ongoing comic book series right now. I have never read anything like this. John Ridley has given us such a unique experience for a comic book series. I love how this dives into history and shows things from Katana's perspective. Thank you Ridley for such an amazing series. I always save this title for last when doing my weekly comic book read. :)

This one started off as a bit of a slow burn but got better as it went on, I loved the ending to this one a lot

Its rare for a single issue to have pacing this good

A lot of this felt a bit choppy and rushed, especially some of the dialogue but I thought this was pretty enjoyable overall, it was an interesting way to end the book

Fuck, this creeped me out Some of it felt a bit overly edgy for the sake of being edgy but I cannot deny this was fucking great

Okay, I wasn't always the biggest fan of Hickman's X-men as i thought the storytelling and exposition were way too messy and I thought the first two issues of this were quite flawed as well But fuck, I'd be lying if I said I didn't love this issue. It all really comes together here Perfect storytelling, perfect use of characters, perfect development, perfect art, I just hope the other issues have me as on edge as this one did

Fucking hilarious This is a 1000x better than that crossover they forced last issue

This was actually really enjoyable but I just feel the very end was a bit awkwardly executed Didn’t help that this had to be limited to 22 pages

Solid work here, its quite messy at points and confusing but this was better than the previous issue

It all comes together here! King perfected the pacing in this issue loved this!

The Lex Luthor story was quite good and I loved the idea of superman and lex having a boxing match. 8/10 I enjoyed the Val-Zod story, found it to be quite unique and different. I loved the use of Prometheus and the artwork was great. 8.5/10 The Cyborg Superman story was a great idea, but poorly executed IMO. 6/10 Stephanie Phillip's story was nice, but kinda mediocre and predictable. 5.5/10 The Martha Kent story was great and just the kinda story I expect from a Superman anthology. 8/10

NAMREPU - just the fun you'd expect from a short Waid story, quite funny as well, 9/10 Prospect of tomorrow - beautiful story by Manapul, 8.5/10 A little is a lot - another amazing story, knew what to expect when I saw it was Venditti writing, 9/10 For the man who has nothing - found this one very touching, 8.5/10 SAVEDBYSUPERMAN - really enjoyed this one and the message, 9.5/10

While I cannot deny, this is not the best DC event i've read. This was really interesting from start to finish and wrapped up really well. This story had many plots going on at once and managed to tie them up nicely and did not force a happy ending. Even though the script could have been slightly better (although it felt like a tribute to COIE), i would like to see Williamson involved with more events of this scale, even just overseeing them or being a head writer, since he came up with some pretty amazing plots. I would rate the event 8.5/10 Pros: interesting plots, great character development, beautiful artwork Cons: too much going on at once, requires lots of DC knowledge, script felt a tad bit rushed

Comics don’t get much better than this...

A very strange story, to say the least. But if you can get past this issue's silliness, you might find this to be an underrated gem.

I thought this issue was pretty engaging but I do think tom king got a little lost in his writing techniques here and I felt a lot of this didn't actually make much sense But overall i thought it was pretty interesting and the art was amazing

This was very fucked up but touching even if its quite unclear at points ive loved the direction King's taken this series

The story went downhill here imo, cheesy dialogue, uninspired plots and a plain ridiculous cliffhanger Still pretty fun, but not great

First half of this started a bit slow for me, but the latter half that featured Kang was really fun to read and set up a nice cliffhanger. Kang's always been one of those villains I enjoy reading.

Batman & Zatanna - 7.5/10, not the biggest fan of vita ayala but this was quite fun and touching Wight Witch - 9.5/10, don't know much about this character but this was an excellent starting point, im a sucker for the painted art too Eternity - 7/10, some sloppy dialogue but the premise intrigued me, again this provided a good starting point for a character im unfamiliar with Ace - 9.5/10, I LOVED this, i'd be happy for mark russell to write the main batman title or detective comics tbh

Stopped with the Zatanna story a couple issues ago, found it unbearably boring Plastic Man - 8.5/10, covered themes we've already seen but I found this to be very fun Birds of Prey - 5.5/10, this chapter felt a bit disjointed, I don't really care for the characters Ace - 10/10, Mark Russell nailed every single bit of this, this had the perfect mixture of humour, heart and ingenuity

No way in hell im reading the batman/zatanna story, i'd rather watch paint dry... Alfred Pennyworth - 5.5/10, this just came across as dull, alfreds one of those characters i only want written well Birds of Prey - 1/10, this has got to be one of the worst endings ive ever read to a comic story, miracle molly's actions here made absolutely no sense as well. I'm not normally the one to cry about character assassination but wtf was this writer thinking, this completely contradicts who she was in tynion's batman run. Wow this was an amazingly terrible ending Ace - 10/10, perfect ending

Batman & Flash - 6/10 Batman & Aquaman - 3/10, this one was so boring and messy I couldn't even finish it Batman & Black Adam - 9/10, now THIS is a writer I want at DC, great stuff for a short story, interesting time to set it too Riddler - 9/10, again very solid for a short story

Dr Fate - weakest part so far, didn't like how this was written as much, 6.5/10 Eclipso - the art has been amazing, fun story and great cliffhanger, 9/10

I don't care if these stories don't add much to the plot, unnecessary issues will always be a thing in comics but they were just so damn boring to get through

This was a bit cheesy but I found it to be pretty enjoyable and thought it wrapped up the event pretty well

Fun issue, I loved seeing how Duggan wrote all these characters and their interactions but wow, now you have to read issues of ASM and a whole ass event to see where the plots from this run go??

It was fun but it felt like a major step down from the ongoing suicide squad run, its a shame as i was very excited for this event. Also the crime syndicate felt very out of character when compared to how they written in their recent series (especially power ring)

I was very skeptical when I saw Bendis was writing this, but this has actually turned out to be quite good so far.

Justice league by Bendis - 4.5/10 I really don't know why DC allowed Bendis to write these big titles, especially after his horrendous Marvel events. Justice league dark by Ram V - 9.5/10 Such a great story, exactly what i'd expect from Ram V tbh.

Sudden dip in quality. No way near as good as Snyder's series. But still something special and fun.
