St. Ives wants Belmonde's restaurant business. (#2) Archaeologist Richard Easton conceives a child with Nelvanna, the goddess of the Northern Lights. Strangely, Easton returns nine years later to the now closed archaeological site. A year later, Shaman uses his magic to deliver Nelvanna's child, who becomes Snowbird. (Cover date: February, 1984)

(#1) The coroner tells Northstar & Danielle Belmonde that he can find no cause of death for Raymonde after being touched by "Deadly Ernest". Northstar goes to Ernest's estate & finds Aurora with him but is knocked out by a goon. He awakens to find Nemesis in the room with him. Ernest tells Aurora how he came by his Touch of Death in WWI when he defied Death on the battlefield. Nemesis & Aurora then show up. When Ernest's death touch doesn't work on Nemesis, she slices him into pieces with her molecule-thick sword. Northstar pulls off her mask thinking it is Danielle but it is not. Later, Aurora accuses Danielle of being in collaboration with Ernest when she returned home to her father. Danielle is taken away by the police. Northstar accuses Aurora of romancing Ernest while being held captive, & she leaves him in a fury. (#2) The Hudsons visit Michael & a now grown Narya at his cabin. At night, Heather sees Narya adopt her snow owl avatar. In the morning, Michael tells them about Narya's true nature. James offers them a position with his Department H. (Cover date: March, 1984)

After a number of people in Toronto are killed by a creature in Lake Ontario, & Heather almost becomes another victim, Puck summons Marrina to help, believing the creature is one of her race, the Plodex. (Cover date: September, 1984)

Marrina goes into Lake Ontario to find whatever has been killing people. She comes back in a berserker rage, attacking both Puck & Namor. The scheming Master stands nearby watching the event unfold. (Cover date: October, 1984)

While he holds Namor & Puck captive in his submarine, the Master tells them how he escaped death in his first meeting with Alpha Flight. He shows them Marrina in her savage state. Bochs recruits Jeffries to help him get revenge for Guardian's death. Wolverine comes to see Heather in the hospital. The Master shows Namor & Puck the Plodex he caught in Lake Ontario & lets it join Marrina. Puck escapes from his cylinder by pretending to be dead & frees Namor. They release Marrina & the monster, which damages the Master's submarine. After Namor carries Puck to the surface, he returns later to tell Puck that he was unable to find Marrina. After Namor leaves, she emerges from hiding, not wishing to see him. She feels that she is nothing more than a monster & no longer wants to see people, including Alpha Flight. In the hospital, Heather & Logan reminisce about Guardian's failed attempt to retrieve Logan & return him to Alpha Flight after he joined the X-Men. Puck talks Heather into becoming the new leader of Alpha Flight. (Cover date: December, 1984)

(#1) Spidey battles Thunderball, who has both the Asgardian powered wrecking ball & the Wrecker's crowbar, along the Long Island Expressway, which ties up traffic to the dismay of the drivers. He uses a local electrical power station to defeat his opponent. (#2) Spidey visits a boy, Tim, who collects Spider-Man memorabilia, after reading an article about him in the Bugle. Spidey answers all of his questions & even reveals his secret identity to him. Afterwards, we learn that Tim is dying from terminal cancer. (Cover date: January, 1984)

The Hobgoblin meets with a group of businessmen that he intends to blackmail, including J. Jonah Jameson & Harry Osborn. Spider-Man intervenes but is hit with a pumpkin bomb containing a gas that nullifies his spider-sense & knocks him out. The Hobgoblin decides then to kill him. The Kingpin blocks the killing goblin blast, & the Hobgoblin decides not to challenge him & leaves. After Spidey wakes up, Kingpin tells him that the Hobgoblin is a potential threat to his interests, & he would prefer that Spidey takes him down. (Cover date: February, 1984)

Spidey is chased out of the club by the businessmen that Hobgoblin is attempting to blackmail. Harry tells Peter that Hobgoblin may be a club member. Spidey questions some of the club members, including "Roderick Kingsley" & JJJ, whether they may have a clue as to Hobgoblin's identity but this proves fruitless. Spidey finds JJJ writing a story about his involvement in creating the Scorpion. Spidey tells him not to publish it to save his career. Peter finds his old spider-tracer, since his spider-sense was neutralized earlier by the Hobgoblin's gas. Spidey surprises Hobgoblin in his lab. When Hobgoblin activates his automated ray cannon, he realizes that Osborn's journals are in danger of being destroyed. He throws a pumpkin bomb at the cannon, resulting in a large explosion that is seen by the people outside. JJJ sees the smoke from his window, then gives the copyboy his Scorpion story to be published in the Bugle. After fighting them off, they go back to the castle to confront Nefaria & then must deal with the traps he has waiting for them. After Nefaria is captured, one Avenger is left critically wounded. The Avengers arrive in San Francisco at Tigra's request to try to save Spider-Woman who is in a comatose state. Feeling that it is beyond their skills, Henry Pym & Dr. Strange are summoned. Unknown to them, Spider-Woman had travelled to the past with Magnus in her astral form to defeat Morgan Le Fay. She is unable to return to her physical body due to a spell cast by Le Fey which accounts for the "ghost" of her that is being seen. Her physical body destroyed, Le Fay plans to take over Spider-Woman's physical body, which will cause Jessica's astral form to fade away. (Cover date: February, 1984)

Responding to the Avengers Emergency Signal, She-Hulk, Tigra, Starfox, Wasp & Shroud pass through Dr. Strange's barrier into Jessica Drew's hospital room. Dr. Strange is using his magic to hold Spider-Woman's astral form together, otherwise, her body will become mindless. Morgan Le Fey shows herself to them from the astral plane. She tells them of her plan to take over Jessica's body when her astral form has faded away. She attacks the group with hazards from the astral plane. Dr. Strange sends Scarlet Witch, She-Hulk, Starfox & Shroud to the astral plane to engage her there. After Cap returns back to Avengers Mansion, a powerful surge occurs in the monitor systems that the spectral Vision cannot account for. Morgan creates a giant body for herself out of the substance of the astral plane to fight her attackers. Dr. Strange uses the Eye of Agamotto to send Jessica's astral form to Magnus in the astral plane. Magnus tells her of his history with Morgan. He then sacrifices the last of his magic & his own self to send Jessica back to her physical body. With Morgan's hold on Jessica now broken, the group in the astral plane, along with Strange, are able to defeat her & leave. Jessica is alive & well & is sitting up in her hospital bed. However, Henry tells her that her Spider-Woman powers are now gone due to her ordeal. (Cover date: March, 1984)

Good art, ok story. We get further insights into the motives of the Unsanity Collective & witness the start of the Magistrate Program. I can do without the goofy Ghost-maker backup. I'd wish DC would get rid of it & save me a buck.

I thought Tynion's script was enough to keep me interested throughout & Jimenez's art was great as usual. Peacekeeper-01 is a worthy addition to BM's rogues gallery.

I agree with most of the critics on this one. This is a good, entertaining, but not great, story with top notch artwork. It sets up an interesting future where Batman will have to contend with the Peacekeepers whenever he ventures into Gotham as long as Nakano is in power. (I ignored the very tedious Ghost-Maker backup in my rating.)

I thought the artwork was great & Tynion's story kept me interested to the end. One thing though. The media is viewing the situation, and they are too dumb to see that the Magistrates are trying to massacre the Unsanity Collective? Again, I don't care about the tedious White Deadpool story.

Aside from the trip to the astral plane, there's nothing really new here. There's lots of exposition that we've already read before. The Clown-Hunter story was a mess.

Better than the last issue. The fight between PK-01 & PK-X with Batman in the middle was good. Molly's belief that people should be cleansed of their "traumas" shows what a flawed character she is. People are stronger than she realizes. So Tim is going to hang with a serial killer now? Seems out of character for him.

There's not a whole lot that's exciting or interesting going on in this issue. Scarecrow is going to mess with PK-01's head to forward his Fear State. Bengal is definitely not on the same level as Jimenez. Jimenez does pencil the panels featuring Scarecrow. The Batgirls backup story was OK.

Solid art & story.

I was hoping for something better from Zdarsky.

I think you have to read through this 2- 3 times to get a good feel for King's storytelling. I liked it, and the artwork was great too. I liked the connection to Mask of the Phantasm, which I really enjoyed.

King's script is good, not great, while the artwork is fantastic.

I enjoyed King's script in this installment and the artwork is amazing. King's take on the Joker is spot on. The Joker creates a moral dilemma for Selina in order to reveal her true self. Meanwhile, Helena has suspicions about her mother that she really doesn't want to consider. In the present, Selina has to deal with the Phantasm who is out for her blood.

A little light on the story in this issue but I still enjoyed the read. The artwork is impeccable. I like this series better than King's current Strange Adventures run.

Should I feel guilty for liking this? I liked Selina's interaction with the other characters in this issue. Selina showed that she still has it when she kicks Harley's butt. Andrea doesn't say it directly, but Sal might have been the one who lead her son to the Joker, and he ended up being a test subject for the Joker gas. Her son may have wanted to be part of the Joker cult, which is why he came to Gotham. I am guessing that Selina is the one who thinks she "got it right" since she didn't let Bruce consume her & walked away. She didn't interfere in Sal's execution which is something Bruce would have stopped. We'll have to see if Andrea pays any price for all the killing she has done. Mann's artwork is just gravy on top of a good story.

Another solid installment by King & Mann. So Selena & Andrea are going to kill the Joker...that can only end badly for Andrea.

The question at the end is what did the Joker tell Andrea to keep her from killing him? Andrea then tries to kill Selina which is what she was going to do initially since she is viewed as a Joker accomplice. Her son is dead, that was shown earlier in this series, so what was it?

The worst issue in the series to date. It's spinning its wheels, and there's still another four issues to go.

Bao reminds me of the feisty, but not too bright, little brother who keeps coming at big brother and gets the crap beat out of him each time. Okay, we get it...Bao was bullied at school by the bigoted white rich kids. I bought this book because of Red Hood's all too brief appearance. Punchline was really the star. I found it hard to really care much about Bao. He needs more development other than just being driven by a lust for vengeance.

Solid story & artwork from Taylor & Kubert. I like the overcoat look for Batman by Kubert. Who is the lady leader & the big guy in Equilibrium? Someone we've seen before with an axe to grind? Stay tuned.

I can't believe that Batman laughed at the Joker's joke after all the shit he pulled in this issue.

Beast becomes concerned with Dazzler's safety after she signs with a notorious underground theatre in Hollywood after she is barred from regular work for being a mutant. (Cover date: December, 1984)

Beast is appalled to find that Dazzler has decided to return to the underground theater where gladiatorial type exhibitions are being held for their wealthy patrons' entertainment. (Cover date: February, 1985)

I was hoping for another Rorschach from King but this isn't that. This issue just plodded along in typical King fashion without a lot interesting happening. King also seems to think that including a lot of profanity makes the storytelling somehow better (it doesn't).

Thinking his wife is dead, Kingpin retakes control of the NY mobs. After Bullseye fails to kill DD, Kingpin gives him his files in order to bring down the mob bosses who tried to kill him. (Cover date: July, 1981)

Two reporters are brutally assaulted near the storefront, and Matt's client, Melvin Potter (The Gladiator), is the chief suspect. Matt's secretary, Becky, also believes that Potter attacked her & left her crippled years before. After Potter's social worker is attacked, she gives DD a clue as to where he might find the "Lady Killer" so that he can be brought to justice. (Cover date: August, 1981)

The Kingpin hires the Hand to assassinate Matt & Melvin Potter (Gladiator). Daredevil gets an assist from Elektra who is back in the city. (Cover date: September, 1981)

After an attempted assassination of Foggy by Hand ninjas, a clue is found that leads DD & Elektra to the location of the Hand. They find Samurai warriors and the unkillable Kirigi waiting for them. (Cover date: October, 1981)

As DD searches for Stick, his former sensei, to get help for the loss of his radar-sense, he is followed by Heather, an armored-up Turk & Elektra. Unknown to her, Elektra is being stalked by Kirigi, who seeks revenge for his earlier defeat & near death at her hands. (Cover date: November, 1981)

While DD is trying to protect a kid, who has evidence linking mayoral candidate Cherryh to the Kingpin, from Kingpin's hitmen, he must deal with Iron Fist & Power Man who Foggy hired as bodyguards for him & Matt. When reporter Ben Uhrich gets too close to the Kingpin / Cherryh connection, he attracts the attention of the Kingpin's newest assassin, Elektra. Uhrich's friend, Daredevil, is there to protect Ben from becoming another dead man at Elektra's hand. (Cover date: February, 1982)

Recognizing Vanessa Fisk in Uhrich's photo, DD & Uhrich go into the sewers to find her and are met by the king of its denizens, who wants them both dead. (Cover date: March, 1982)

While in prison, Bullseye learns from the Punisher that he has been replaced as the Kingpin's chief assassin. After escaping prison, Bullseye tracks down Elektra while she is on an assignment from the Kingpin to kill Foggy. Elektra then must fight for her life against the deranged Bullseye. Matt believes that Elektra may still be alive & becomes obsessed with finding out, eventually digging up her coffin. Meanwhile, the Punisher is broken out of prison by a federal agent in order to stop the Kingpin's massive narcotic shipment. (Cover date: May, 1982)

After a school girl on Angel Dust dies from her injuries after jumping out a window, DD, her brother & the Punisher converge on the drug dealer who sold her the drug. (Cover date: June, 1982)

DD stops the Punisher from executing the drug dealer, Hogman, who he believes is innocent of murder. After charges are dropped against Hogman, DD must stop both the boy Billy & the Punisher from killing Hogman after he admitted to Matt in court that he really was the killer. (Cover date: July, 1982)

Foggy gets mixed up with mob boss Slaughter & then with the Kingpin while investigating the reason that Heather's company is making explosives. Fortunately, DD is looking out for him. (Cover date: August, 1982)

After Stilt Man is hired by Glenn Industries to sabotage the DA's case against them, Turk steals Wilbur Day's armor & attempts to kidnap the assistant DA, but DD is waiting for him. (Cover date: September, 1982)

DD's hyper senses have become debilitating, so while searching for Stick, the city's lowlifes take advantage of his condition. Meanwhile, Stick & the Seven have become the targets of the Hand. Black Widow runs into the Hand while they are stealing the body of Kirigi from the city morgue. (Cover date: October, 1982)

DD & Wolverine become involved with a Japanese gang who have removed Bullseye from the hospital & are taking him to Japan to repair his spinal injury with the Kingpin's assistance. (Cover date: July, 1983)

DD goes to Japan to apprehend Bullseye. Instead of finding Bullseye on the ship, he finds a woman in chains, who has some connection to the villain Dark Wind. Dark Wind promises to heal Bullseye in exchange for his service. (Cover date: August, 1983)

DD & Yuriko travel to Dark Wind's island to find Bullseye & encounter Dark Wind's assassins & samurai along the way. (Cover date: September, 1983)

On Dark Wind's island, DD, accompanied by his daughter Yuriko, fight through Dark Wind's warriors to find Bullseye. DD ultimately comes face to face with Dark Wind with Bullseye no where to be found. (Cover date: October, 1983)

Despite suffering a broken arm in Japan, DD tracks down Bullseye when he arrives back in NYC with every intention of killing him to put an end to his killings. (Cover date: November, 1983)

With DD out of action with a broken arm, Black Widow helps him track down the man who tried to kill Foggy. The suspects are two brothers who are former Green Berets. (Cover date: December, 1983)

DD has to fight the brutal, ruthless savage, Micah, from an isolated tribe of Englishmen in East Africa, when he is about to kill a policeman for showing sorrow for the death of his wife. (Cover date: January, 1984)

DD breaks up the Trump's & his gang's weapons heist & captures the getaway truck driver. In prison, Matt recognizes the driver as Stymie Schmidt, who bullied him as a kid, but decides to defend him anyway. Later, Matt finds Stymie nearly dead in his prison cell after being shocked by a disguised Trump & gives him CPR to save him. Trump escapes DD through the subway in the crowd. Foggy gets information on Matt's past with Stymie. DD learns from Turk that Trump is raiding the mob's weapons armory. At the armory, DD fights the Trump & knocks him out to leave him for the police. Foggy talks Matt into dropping Stymie as a client, since he is motivated by getting revenge on him. (Cover date: February, 1984)

The media follows Micah Synn & his wife as they enter the subway. They are accompanied by Foggy & Debbie; Foggy makes a statement to a reporter regarding Micah's background. DD, who's been following Micah, knocks him out of the way of Crossbow's bolt. Micah knocks his wife onto the subway tracks. DD keeps her down so that the train passes over the top of them. Crossbow meets with Lord Synn, who wants his relative Micah killed, so that his family name isn't sullied by him. When Micah's wife, Sra, isn't feeling well & Micah laughs, Foggy speculates that this is how his tribe shows concern. Debbie tells Foggy that she wants to invite Micah to their party. Matt tells Foggy that he wants to drop Micah as a client since he is trouble. Foggy speculates that Micah may have family that are trying to kill him, & they should look into it. DD confronts Lord Synn in his hotel room. Frightened, he tells DD that Crossbow is going to be at the Nelsons' party. A bedraggled Tony Stark shows up at the party & immediately starts drinking. Micah & Debbie embrace & kiss while she is giving him a tour of the penthouse. DD finds Crossbow on the balcony & stops him before he can shoot Micah. Micah comes behind DD & tries to hit him over the head with a potted plant. Stark then shows up, distracting DD, & Micah tosses him over the balcony. DD catches himself on the balcony's ledge. He hits Micah in the chin with his baton & kicks Crossbow in the head to knock him out. Foggy & Debbie then arrive on the scene with Debbie in tears. (Cover date: March, 1984)

I found BMB's dialogue to be clunky in spots, which detracts from the story. Maleev's artwork perfectly fits the dark nature of this series. The plot isn't interesting enough to merit a higher rating.

Pretty uninteresting tale by Parks.

This was a tough one to read through. The artwork was subpar, and the story seemed like something from the 70s.

I hate that King in Black intrudes on the main storyline. I'm sure Zdarsky had no choice in the matter.

Ugh, more King in Black tiein.

I love the focus on Elektra in this issue. What a great character to enjoy.

If you like a fast paced, action oriented story involving many of Marvel's premier superheroes then this issue is for you. Personally, I am going to skip the next issue since it is not quite good enough to justify the continued outlay.
