Just spectacular!!! The way Waid writes the father-and-son relationship is just so well done. Moments like when Batman is worried about Dick and then trying to downplay it are so heartwarming and nice to read. This book has a lot of heart in it. And then you have the story, filled with mystery and excitement with a new villain who is genuinely interesting is just the cherry on top. All of this is brought to us by the incredible Chris Samnee who nails the Noir and moody feel of the story. What can I ask for more? Waid and Samnee were at the top of my list for who I want to write a Batman run and so far they are knocking it out of the park!

Man, this is incredible! The action scenes, the humor, the conversations between Peter and MJ/Ben, and the plot that keeps getting more and more complex, are all so good. Hickman's characterization of every character is on point and it's just so much fun reading all those interactions. Each issue genuinely blows me away. I also have to give it to Messina. When he first came into the series, I didn't really like his art. But now, I'm actually really enjoying it. I can now confidently say that in my opinion, this is the best ongoing series right now.

Another masterclass from Snyder. The action scenes in this comic are so badass! It’s genuinely so cool!! As for the story, it comes along very nicely so far. The pacing is great and we get a lot of exciting information about the story and this new world. I also really like how Harvey, Oz, Wilson and Nygma basically serve as Bruce’s information network. It’s awesome.

Mark Waid and Chris Samnee are responsible for one of the best runs in comics (*cough* Daredevil *cough*) so you can bet your ass this is going to be incredible.

Incredible. This was some great investigative journalism story with a lot of interesting character interactions. This issue reminds me of issue number four where there isn’t any action, yet it’s still very gripping.

A flawlessly executed first issue that is suspenseful, creepy, and clever. And that last page, what a way to end an issue!

This is something special. The way Tynion shows us how the place works (aging, health, fabricating things, etc…) and contrasting it with the group experimenting how far their “newly” discovered regenerative powers can go, just to end it the way he did. Brilliant storytelling. The build-up and tension in this issue go crazy. Tynion definitely knows how to end an issue.

This is wild. I have no Idea what’s going on and I love it.

Weakest issue yet, as I find the space story the least interesting aspect of the run so far, but the story still goes in an interesting enough direction and the art is decent.

Hell yeah, this was great. The way the three stories are intertwined is really well done. It’s like nothing makes sense, but also it does make sense. The ending promises greatness to come.

After the confrontation with Marc’s other identities, he gets back in control and now he has a somewhat clear mind a clear goal. This issue had some touching moments, great art, and exciting cliffhanger. This was a great exploration of Marc’s mind.

Masterpiece.

Absolutely beautiful book that keeps the mystery going while also exploring Marc’s background and expanding on it in a meaningful way.

Utterly amazing. Marc’s other personalities coming to help him was so beautiful and touching, like he’s starting to understand that his mental illness is not his weakness but instead, his super powers. And the art! Some of the best out there.

This is such a good comicbook. So addicting, I can’t put it down.

A powerful and heartwarming ending to one of the most unique, bizarre, and beautiful runs I’ve read in a long time.

As good as it gets.

This is crazy good.

The way Lemire blurs the lines between reality and hallucinations is nothing short of brilliant.

This just keeps getting better and better. I love how deeper we go into Egyptian mythology every issue and the way it’s been utilised is brilliant (It starts raining when Sobek arrives). It’s all pretty insane too, which makes it super fun to read. Also, that Greg Smallwood art, mwah, just *chef kiss*. There’s a reason why Smallwood is one of my favourite artists, and it shows here.

I’ll be damned if this isn’t one of the craziest, most original, and unique comic books I read.

"You're crazy." "That's been said." "Also, I hate to be the one to point this out, but wearing a white suit... he's kinda going to see you coming." "That's the part I like."

״Why can’t I hit you- -“ “I’m not real.”

"You know full well that the angry dead can reach out and touch the living. I did."

"Wouldst thou like odinfries with that?" Goddamn, this was a cool issue. Art is perfect.

"Your face." "It's a mask. did they hurt you at all?" "No. They just carried me places. It's not a mask. It's your face." "Smart kid." Pure badassery on display.

“People who love me suffer and die. I never want to be loved. That’s why I always win.” An incredible short run that does an outstanding job at introducing Moon Knight in a unique, diverse and badass way. Combine all of this with Shalvey’s extraordinary art, and you got yourself a hell of an introduction.

As the war gets closer and closer, Daredevil tries to rehabilitate the Super-Villains by giving them therapy sessions and a better place (and conditions) to live, all in hopes that they choose to fight with him. The conversation between DD and Bullet was the highlight of the issue for me. I like how Zdarsky always points out the flaws in DD’s beliefs and then have him face them. Then on the other side of the world, we have Elektra investigating if the rumours about The Hand using world leaders as puppets are real. After a fight with Iron man she finds out the unfortunate truth, the rumours are true, and to make things worse, the President jumps out of the window and kills himself, making it seem like an assassination, complicating everything for Matt and Elektra. Another amazing issue that is character-driven but also moves the plot forward in an interesting way. Art is great too.

Incredible. We see DD taking the rehabilitation one step further when he goes out to help people… with the help of Super-Villains. Matt shows them that there’s a gap between law and good and that their job is to fill it. I love the way Zdarsky writes this, it’s not so simple. He lets Bullet go but puts surveillance on him. Matt always has to make hard choices and his ambivalence towards his actions, as shown in his inner monologue, is just a treat to read. Then there’s the fact that one of his main antagonists in this run is Frank Castle, and considering their debates over the years, all of what I said in the above gets a whole new level of meaning. Honestly, a perfect book.

An all-out war. Daredevil vs The Punisher. Both with armies behind them. Drawn by the insanely talented Marco Checchetto. Yeah, this issue was EPIC as f***!

Holy. F*****. Shit. This story is so utterly brilliant that not even a lackluster art can bring it down. Goosebumps.

One of the greatest Daredevil issues of all time.

“All I have left to do… is die.” Insane issue! Matt with an all-time great Daredevil moment. Shit was nuts. Also, de Latorre’s art never looked better.

I… don’t know what to say… this is the best issue I have ever read… it’s perfect. And the art… best I’ve seen in a comic book. Wow… I’m speechless.

“I fight for love.” The portrayal of Matt’s faith in this issue is the best this character ever had. If you want to know the essence of who Matthew Murdock really is, this is the issue to read.

A perfect conclusion to a perfect run. This is now my favourite run of all time. Thank you Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto (and everyone else who’s been involved), I’m deeply grateful to you.

It’s the issue Matt and Elektra get married, what more do you need? (That last page was so beautiful)

“Hn. Daredevil. Don’t need saving. I’m right with God.” “If you were… he wouldn’t have sent the Devil.” Even with a lot of uncertainty over his plan, Daredevil moves forward with his plan and decides to recruit some super-villains from a prison in the middle of the ocean. What ensues is one of the most Badass fights I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. Absolutely insane issue with insane art.

This was a crazy opening issue. Matt tries to make the most out of the time he has left in Hell’s Kitchen but things get complicated when Goldy comes back into his life, and it turns out he’s… Matt’s guardian angel? I have some thoughts about the direction this can go but I’ll wait and see if I’m right. Nonetheless, it’s very exciting. There’s also a back-up story with Elektra where she goes to set-up base for “The Fist” and it was cool. Reminding us that either Matt or Elektra might not survive this. Art was gorgeous as usual and I really liked the nine panel grid that was used at the beginning and the end of the issue.

“God knows… the outcome of the play. But I still have to write the lines… and live with their consequences on his stage”. The concept of Goldy as a character is such a crazy idea that it makes him one of the most intriguing new villains in Daredevil’s rouge gallery. He’s basically fate/destiny and so he brings cool new ways to test Matt’s beliefs. the possibilities here are huge.

Another banger. This issue was mostly just talking but it’s Zdarsky, so it’s clever and has a lot of depth. I especially liked how Matt compared his life to the “trolley problem”.

This was a great spin-off that managed to tie-in to Devil’s Reign, explore Elektra’s past and flesh her out in her new role, and set-up the events of the 2022 DD run. It also looked beautiful throughout. A great little mini-series that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Can Marco Checchetto draw everything please? This was another amazing chapter. The story progresses in an interesting and fast way, lots of crazy twists and cliffhangers, lots of action. It’s all so much fun and the way Zdarsky ties it up with his Daredevil run is just the cherry on top.

Oh god, Matt & Elektra vs Fisk & Mary was absolute peak. That fight alone was worth it all. When Matt used the cane but it didn’t work because Fisk is pure evil I had chills. Great, great, great. And that’s not all! Luke Cage and Joe vs The Purple Man, Butch reveal, Fisk betraying the Stormwyns and the entire fight with the rest of the superheroes. A satisfying conclusion that gives us all the answers and resolutions we wanted and then some.

Meh. DD’s story was great but the rest were just an uninteresting set-ups for stories I’m never going to read.

This is so damn good! that ending… holy hell, shit’s about to explode. And Marco Checchettto… man, this guy is talented!

An issue that explores Elektra’s past and sets her up to fight Kraven in the present with amazing inner monologue and fantastic art by de Latorre. Zdarsky is the best Elektra writer.

This issue explores Matt and Elektra’s relationship on a deeper level than before, and shows us what Matt means to Elektra and how important he is to her. And I absolutely loved it, I love how Zdarsky writes this relationship. At this point, it’s gotta be one of my favourite relationships in comics.

God, Checchetto’s art is good. This issue was amazing. Seems like all the build-up from Daredevil is about to pay off.

So many great moments in here: Spider-Man and Taskmaster’s fight. Richard and Sue’s kiss. Elektra’s secret and the build-up to the fight with Kraven. Fisk using The Purple Man’s powers to fix the election. Luke Cage running for mayor. The cliffhanger with Otto. I have pretty much highlighted everything that happened in this issue and I didn’t even talk about Checchetto’s insane art. So yeah, this was great.

The chameleon twist was crazy and then that cliffhanger too? Damn, this event has been living up to expectations so far.

Matt finds out that the prison is using a drug called “re-cid” on prisoners before they get released and when they go back to their neighbourhood, they infect other people with the drug. The drug itself makes people violent and because of that the prisoners infected with it go back to committing crime and then back to prison but in the process they also make sure that other people keep committing crimes, thus keeping the prisons full of prisoners all the time. This is clearly a critique of the prison system that doesn’t do its job to at rehabilitating prisoners just because it makes more money for prisons not to. Anyways, after learning this, Matt, who’s also infected by the drug, decides to burn the prison down and fights Cole over it. However, during the fight Cole mentions how Bullseye is out there in NYC killing people and that’s enough for Matt to decide to escape the prison and go after Bullseye (who has both Elektra and Mary coming for him). So overall, this issue does a good job at setting up the fight with Bullseye while also making a meaningful critique on an important subject.

Elektra stopping Matt from beating Bullseye was such a great moment that highlights how much of a hero she has become. This was honestly a very satisfying conclusion to Lockdown.

A quiet issue that sets up Devil’s Reign but also has a lot of poignant moments and character growth. This part of Zdarsky’s run has been utterly brilliant and if what’s coming next is as good as this, then this just might become my favourite run of all time.

Fantastic issue that touches on some interesting subjects, mainly the flawed prison system that doesn’t do its best to rehabilitate inmates. Zdarsky’s Daredevil continues to be thought-provoking, smart and beautiful. Also damn, Elektra is cold.

Phenomenal issue. I’m really enjoying Matt’s story in prison and that fight outside was epic. Zdarsky writes a great Matt Murdock and his inner monologue is always amazing. Elektra shows Alice what’s up and she’s doing it in style. I adore everything Zdarsky is doing with Elektra. As far as I’m concerned, he’s the best Elektra writer. Fisk story is coming along nicely as well, as it revealed that he’s working on a new plan to kill both of the Daredevils. One of the plans involves Bullseye which mean we might get Elektra as Daredevil vs Bullseye and if that happens… oh boy, that will be good. Last but not least, Mike and Butch’s plan to take over the underworld is also coming along nicely for them. Not gonna lie, I started to fear that plot thread might go nowhere. Happy to be proven otherwise and I can’t wait to see how Mike is gonna use his “new” identity to achieve his goal. The way Zdarsky manages to tell 4 different storyline in one issue is a testament to how great of a writer he is. The pacing is tight. And of course, the star of the show, Marco checchetto, is as brilliant as always!

Pacing is tight, action is fun, story keeps building up, character interactions are always nice, all the three main protagonists are well-written. You know, the usual. Daredevil by Chip Zdarsky is perfect.

Matt scaring the shit out of the warden was so satisfying and that last page was crazy.

Matt is playing it real smart, making the warden put him in isolation so he could eavesdrop on him is a great move. Elektra’s search for Bullseye led to a surprising ending. Interested to see what the multiple Bullseyes are all about and the showdown between Elektra and them should be glorious. Meanwhile, we have Butch out there having his own Wilson Fisk moment when a beats the hell out of Hammerhead. Things might not be as simple as Mike thinks. Overall, this is another strong issue that keeps the story going in an interesting and coherent way while juggling between four stories.

Elektra fighting Bullseye and his clones (yeah, apparently they are clones from an experiment Fisk set up so he can have a Bullseye he could control. Interesting solution.) was as thrilling as I expected, all thanks to Checchetto God-tier art. That confrontation ends with Elektra almost dying but she manages to get Spidey and Tony to the scene just in time to save her. Once again Elektra shows she also has the brains. All while this is happening, a riot had started in the prison Daredevil is in that also involves some kind of gas (probably re-cid that was mentioned last issue) and Cole North is the one who was chosen to deal with it. Leading to one of the coldest pages and inner monologue I have seen in a long time.

So Matt is going to prison… as Daredevil. I like how this issue builds on Soule’s Supreme arc where Matt manages to testify in court as Daredevil. With this law Foggy finds a way for Matt to keep his identity secret and it also fits well with Matt finally accepting the Daredevil identity, realising that it’s a part of him that can’t be abandoned.

As Matt prepares for his trial, he uses the time he has left to do some good as Daredevil. His plan with Iron Man and the entire interaction between them was a highlight in this issue. Nice to see Matt doing everything he can with the time he has left.

Everything about this issue was absolute perfection! The conversation with Foggy, Elektra and then Spider-Man (especially with Spider-Man. What a GOATED moment that was) was everything I ever wanted from this book. This is my favourite issue in this series so far and probably one of my all time favourites ever. Chip Zdarsky you are a master.

Holy. F*****. Shit. Elektra. What a woman you are.

The Elektra issue we’ve all been waiting for! She’s honestly the perfect successor to Matt and that costume is incredible. Checchetto is a really great designer. Also, more is revealed about Elektra’s motives for the things she’s done up until now. Another perfect issue in a (almost) perfect series.

A King in Black tie in that puts a stop to the ongoing story but still a very fun read, and a mighty test for Elektra in her new-found role.

“I’m… I’m here to make amends… To do what’s right… so my soul knows freedom.” A classic Daredevil story where Matt wins due to his incredible will. Elektra’s role in this was great as she’s being put to the test and this time, as Daredevil, she has responsibilities she can’t run away from. And the way she dealt with Mary was simple yet brilliant. Speaks volumes when even a tie-in can’t slow down a run. GJ Zdarsky. “You don’t have to always be like Matt to be Daredevil… but sometimes… it couldn’t hurt to try.”

This issue pretty much re-writes Matt’s entire childhood and growing up by adding in Mike Murdock and giving him a backstory. It was well-written and the art was great but I’m still not sure how I feel about this. Guess we’ll see if it was worth it.

Another perfect issue. I loved Cole in this issue, some truly inspiring dialogue from him. Everything Matt did in this issue was perfect, especially the way he handled the hostage situation. The Owl vs Libris Family conflict is about to explode with the death of Thomas and I honestly can’t wait to see someone put The Owl down already. The Stormwyns launching an attack on Hell’s Kitchen led by Bullseye is an exciting cliffhanger. Can’t wait to see how Fisk deals with this. Fornes art is f***** incredible. Especially during the chase scene. Brilliant run!

The last couple of pages with the Typhoid Mary reveal and Matt becoming Daredevil again gave me chills.

“You’re Matt Murdock. You’re Daredevil. And out of infinite possibilities… there’s only one way this is going to go. My way.” Insane issue. Seeing Matt take down Rhino, Crossbones, and Bullseye one by one was so satisfying. We also got to see Fisk, Cole, Typhoid Mary and the people of Hell’s Kitchen helping too, which was awesome. Oh, and The Owl getting betrayed was beautiful. Then you have the ending in which Matt decides to turn himself in to the authorities. Can’t wait to see how that goes.

The more we see Spider-Man, the better!

Wesley being the kind of man everyone wants to have by their side, Elektra training Matt, Cole doing some vigilantism and then having a crisis because of it, Marco Checchetto on the art. Yeah, this was perfect.

This is so good! Zdarsky’s writing is always so good and thought-provoking. He always has something to say and the way he incorporates the themes he’s exploring into the story is so well done and satisfying. This is an extremely smart comic book.

“Don’t you feel it? Don’t you feel it? You’re back.”

Matt sitting and just listening to the people of Hell’s Kitchen, thinking about how his ability to listen to people might be a sign from god to do what he does, has to be one of my favorite moments from this run so far.

“I hear the bad. I hear it all around, I hear it coming from a mile away… I hear it right in front of me, no matter how quiet it thinks it is”. Peak fiction.

This issue introduces the basics of the new Ultimate world. Peter Parker is married to MJ with two kids and we see some heartwarming scenes between them, the kind of scenes we've been waiting for for years. Peter also works at the Daily Bugle with none other than Ben Parker himself, who is best friends with J. Jonah Jameson. They both decide to start up a new newspaper after the management at the Daily Bugle made some questionable choices regarding the Stark investigation, which involves Wilson Fisk (of course he's involved). The issue ends with the revelation that Stark is actually innocent and not responsible for the terror attack that took Aunt May and that there's a bigger power at play here that erased superheroes from this universe. Stark gives Peter, who himself wants a change in his life, a chance to get his powers back and he takes it (last page went hard). I love how it was Peter's choice to become Spider-Man, it shows that that's who he is regardless of the circumstances, and the fact that MJ and Ben are both a big reason for this choice is just the cherry on top. There's a lot to take in and the pacing is slow, but it's well-written and with Marco Checchetto on the art, it's also beautiful. The possibilities here are endless.

One of the most exhilarating confrontations between Matt and Fisk. An absolute banger of an issue.

This was an excellent little mini-series that explored Matt's fears and how he deals with them while also showing us how, little by little, he regains strength to become Daredevil again, bridging Soule and Zdarsky's runs.

Elektra is briefly back in Matt’s life as they try to kidnap Fisk’s right hand for information about how they fixed the election vote however, the new villain Vigil makes the fairly simple operation a complicated mess that leaves Wesley dead, and Elektra out of the picture. Add to that Noto’s dream like visuals and we got ourself one of the most beautiful yet devastating issues in this run.

This is crazy! What’s happening? All of this doesn’t make any sense… but it also does…?

Holy shit this issue punched me in the face! So it was all a dream. It makes so much sense considering all the events leading up to this point. The dream like art, the blackouts throughout, the inaccuracies (Ikari and Tenfingers appearances don’t make sense), the fast - too fast - pacing, the weirdness of it all. And it ended on an absolutely high note! The last couple pages choked me up and I loved how meta it was (basically recognising the cruel nature of the never ending comic book cycle) and how inspiring it was as well. MATT WILL NEVER GIVE UP NO MATTER WHAT. “I cannot see the light. So I will be the light. I am Daredevil. And I’m not afraid”. What a mad underrated run!

Matt Murdock as Mayor is super satisfying!

Daredevil (2015) #602 Jan 6, 2024

It's getting desperate and Matt resorts to help from criminals. Meanwhile, The Hand unleashes a deadly fog on the city of NYC and it seems like Father Jordan might have an answer to how to stop this. All around this was another great issue that kept complicating things for Matt and adding new players to the story.

"So today. This one time... I'm the sword". This comic is getting into silly territory but Soule manages to keep the story going in an interesting way, especially with Fisk coming back.

A lot of great moments here. Commissioner Karnik standing up for Blindspot was heartwarming and awesome, The battle of City Hall was epic, and the reveal that Fisk did in fact fix the vote creates an interesting set-up for the future. On top of that, I thought Soule's writing in this issue was inspiring and Henderson's art was decent. An epic conclusion to the Mayor Murdock arc!

"Idiots. The Hulk doesn't text". The story juggles between Matt setting up a team with the help of Frank McGee to investigate and build a case against Fisk and Hammerhead, who uses the current situation in NYC to remind everyone how much of an asshole he is, ending with a crazy twist that Murdock has a twin brother who's not exactly an upstanding guy. The pacing in this issue was great, and the dialogue flowed well. The fight against Hammerhead looked great and had a little spin to it to make it exciting, and the concept of Mike Murdock is an interesting way to complicate Matt's life even more. The art here by Phil Noto was excellent, probably the best besides Ron Garney.

I actually don't like the idea of how Mike came to be (probably because I think The Reader is a silly character with silly powers), but the story is super fun, and the art is exceptional, so I can't complain.

So... Mike Murdock is a thing now. Well, this was a fun little arc made great by Noto's beautiful art.

Muse is back, Fisk's plan to change the city is slowly revealed and Matt is stuck between them. Garney is back on art duty and once again he elevates the issue. This just might be the best arc yet!

Daredevil (2015) #599 Jan 5, 2024

I absolutely did not see any of it coming. The twist at the end was insane!

What an exciting issue. Wilson Fisk is mayor of NYC and Matt can’t believe it. He’s sure Fisk must have faked it but doesn’t take into consideration that maybe he didn’t. Meanwhile, the first thing Fisk does as mayor is basically outlaw vigilantes including Daredevil himself and the man responsible for building the case against them is none other than Matt Murdock himself. This is such an awesome set-up with a lot of potential and so far Soule has been killing it. Hoping this arc is no different.

That twist at the end… oh boy this gonna be good!

Wow the art here is incredible! Probably the best Garney did for this series. As for the story, it’s simple yet extremely fun. Matt get’s a letter from blindspot to come and help him in china where he’s ambushed by The Hand, and Blindspot himself. Exciting.

The way Soule connected Blindspot origin story to the current story was beautiful and such a joy to read. Genuinely awesome story-telling (and twists) in this issue. Some powerful art from Garney here, he continues to be excellent.

The conclusion was a little bit rushed but it did its job well enough. It got Blindspot back in NYC (with his eyesights back), also gave him an asylum claim (and did so with the help of last arc’s Supreme Court ruling which is awesome) and it looked good AF while doing it!

So Kingpin hires Legal, Tony Stark’s former lawyer, to fight Matt Murdock in court. Meanwhile Tombstone is also hired to get rid off Matt but is stopped by She-Hulk. Not much happened this issue but it was well written and did a good job setting up the next issue. Biggest flaw of this issue is the art, I didn’t enjoy it at all.

This was sweet! After losing the appeal Matt looks for the Supreme Court, but the only way he has a chance to do so is if he’s got his best friend’s help, Foggy Nelson. They both have a conversation that is shortly interrupted by Tombstone, who get’s quickly and cleverly dealt with, and at the end they finally get over their differences after Matt finally says he’s sorry. Another well-written issue that has me excited for what’s coming next. I still don’t like the art though.

A satisfying conclusion to the arc. Matt’s speech at the end was amazing and I liked how the arguments were presented as if they were an actual fight.

Considering Soule is a lawyer, it’s no surprise that the legal dialogue and courtroom drama is outstanding. I’ve been waiting for a story like this ever since I started reading Daredevil.

Before reading this run, I heard that The Purple Man/Children were involved in Matt’s identity retcon so I kinda figured that It happened due to some device that helped channel their powers across the globe. Now it seems like that’s exactly what’s going to happen and I like it because it makes sense and doesn’t involve some made-up BS like time travel or something like that, It uses already existing powers. I could be wrong though, guess we’ll see.

“What’s the worst thing you could do?” “To know the world is in chaos, and do… nothing”. What a perfect take on the character and a brilliant way to beat Killgrave at his own game. This issue proves (once again) that Soule understands Daredevil.

Such a well-written story. The explanation of how Matt’s identity became secret again is satisfying and makes a lot of sense, the parts with Kirsten were heartbreaking, the way Soule tied-up some of the earlier plot-points with Elektra was really well done and the conversation with Father Jordan was beautifully written. An incredible arc! This one was very important to me considering it is essentially undoes all that came before it, but if there’s a way to do something like this, this is the way.

Soule finally touches upon the identity retcon introduced back in issue #1, basically showing us how, despite having money, fame and a loving woman (good to see Kirsten again btw!) he still misses his home New York and being a lawyer and how empty his life feels without those aspects in his life, going as far as trying to undo his public outing. I really liked this, it feels true to Matt’s character and it makes sense and Garney’s art is awesome as usual. A strong start to an important arc.

I like Blindspot a lot, making the end of this issue all the more terrifying.

Some of the art drawn here by Garney will live rent-free in my head for a while.

Matt Murdock - human lie detector - against a telepath, in a poker match. Yeah... that shit's right up my alley.

So apparently this was a plot to try and kill Daredevil by brainwashing Elektra into thinking she had a daughter and Daredevil took her. But who is responsible? I like this, a cool set-up for the future and more Elektra is always great.

This was great. There’s a mystery surrounding Matt’s identity being a secret again (with only Foggy knowing who Matt is), a new villain is introduced, we also have a sidekick character named Blindspot and Matt is now the ADA. It’s a completely new status quo and there’s a lot going on but so far Soule has been doing a good job setting this up and I’m definitely interested in seeing how all of this will play out. Also, I’m really digging the art here, feels very noir.

Another great issue. Matt’s conversation with Tenfingers was well-written, Seeing Daredevil trying to solve a problem he can’t even sense was very fun, Steve not knowing Matt is blind adds a lot of interesting undertones to the dialogue between them and more details about Blindspot are revealed. Overall, a great and beautiful read.

A fast paced action-focused issue that has a lot of great character moments (especially from Blindspot) and a satisfying conclusion with great art and dialogue. So far I think Soule has a great voice for Matt Murdock and he also managed to introduce us to a lot of characters and status quo changes quite well. Pleasantly surprised, considering the general consensus on this run.

The story with Hawkeye at the beginning and the banter with Kirsten and Foggy was hilarious. The stunt with the helicopter was beautifully drawn and awesome. The copyright lawsuit was actually interesting (GJ Waid) and the twist at the end was incredible. Man, I love this series so much!

With everything that’s going on in Matt’s life, this little adventure was like going on a break and having fun for once, until that ending that is. Honestly, this was kind of devastating. It’s like trying to be happy but always having something at the back of your mind, ruining your mood. Not gonna lie, this issue hit me harder than I expected. Oh and that last page was GODDAMN beautiful! Good job Samnee.

Brilliant! This issue did an excellent job at making you feel the paranoia that Matt feels (the part with the elevator was chilling) and the reveal of who was behind all of it was awesome. However, where this issue truly excels at is in its massage. Fight, never give up. And that was evident in both the main story (Matt bringing the fight to them instead of waiting) and the backup story (with the children and the last 2 panels). Truly inspiring stuff!

A satisfying ending to a two-year long story that ties up all the loose ends since the very first issue. Waid’s careful planning and plotting combined with Samnee and Rivera’s art (most of the time at least) have created one of the most satisfying and beautiful stories marvel has ever put. This is how you do a long overarching storyline, bravo!

A character-driven issue that focuses on Matt’s relationships with Kirsten (I love her!) and Foggy that captures perfectly why Matt - when he is not being Daredevil - is still such an entertaining character and how awesome his friendship with Foggy is. Also, Samnee is the best. I’m happy that it’s gonna be mostly him on the art from now on.

Not bad, I liked the twist. Art could’ve been better though.

This is so good! The artwork at display here is some of the best I’ve ever seen and then the way King writes those character interactions is so satisfying. Both Fire and Chance pretending and dancing around each other trying to achieve their goals is so Intense and mesmerising. Really well done.

Gonna be tough waiting for the next issue.

Holy shit! This is how you do it! This how you deliver exposition while progressing the story in a meaningful way. The way the issue unravels itself is brilliant. It might be a bit confusing at the start but by the end when you start to understand what is going on, it’s so satisfying. What a banger!

I really have nothing much to say besides that it's just brilliant. If you are still not reading this series then what the hell are you doing? read it.

“Yes father. I shall become a bat.” Masterclass of storytelling and world-building. Pretty much the definition of a classic.

“Ladies. Gentlemen. You have eaten well.” Seeing Bruce learning his craft is really exciting. Miller’s ability to script action scenes is almost unmatched and with Mazzucchelli bringing those scenes to life it’s almost too good to be true. Amazing.

“The hunk of metal in my hands is heavier than ever…” Thrilling. An issue full of action that manages to strike a perfect balance between action and character development. Not only this is one of the best Batman stories, it’s also one of the best Gordon stories.

“I’ve got a friend coming who might be able to help. Should be here any minute.” This - alongside “The Long Halloween” - is absolutely without a doubt my favourite Batman story. An old story told in a modern and refreshing way, no wonder it’s as influential as it is. A must read.

There are good moments here (Selina and Oswald’s conversation about the old days) and I genuinely enjoy the art (Morrison’s Arkham Asylum vibes) but the pace is so slow and the bio monthly release makes it confusing to follow what’s going on. It feels like King doesn’t know what to do with this story at this point. This should have been a six-issue series instead.

Hard-hitting issue. The issue starts with Evey finding out that Gordon was killed and I really like how so much was conveyed without any words whatsoever. Really makes you feel the loneliness of the situation. Evey than decides to take revenge but gets caught. While unconscious, Evey dreams about what seems to be a twisted reflection of her life. After she wakes up an interrogation about her possible connections with V begins. Meanwhile, she finds a letter from someone named Valerie. The letter is a biography of Valerie’s life. That part was really emotional and hard-hitting. It was so sad yet ended up in a somewhat hopeful way, it was really well done. All things considered, this was one of the better issues we had so far and at this point I’m completely in love with this series.

That twist, man, completely caught me off-guard and that “Vertigo” chapter and the banana at the end. Genius. Just another brilliant issue, maybe the best one yet.

V's past is revealed and it's as dark as you'd expect it to be. V's turning out to be much more interesting and complex than I thought he would be. The more we see of him, the better.

Another good issue. The part with Mrs. Almond was really haunting, I kinda feel bad for her. Also, the cliffhanger in this issue was awesome, I can't wait to see what V has to say.

The issue starts with V's broadcast which was absolutely brilliant and so well written. The way Moore makes a point by making it seem like a regular conversation between two people is just so good. This broadcast really reminded me of the conversation between V and Madam Justice. After that, we get to see what Evey has been up to since V left her and I really liked it. It shows us how dark the world of the story really is. Already Halfway through the story and so far I'm loving it!

Strong start. This issue mostly establishes the world the story takes place in. We also got to meet the characters I believe we'll spend most of our time with in this series and there were some really cool moments with V.

The ideas moore is presenting are interesting and thought-provoking and the ways he presents them (especially in the conversation between V and Madam Justice) are brilliant. I'm hooked!

"While in my gut the creature writhes and snarls and tells me what I need..."

"Something tells me to stop with the leg. I dont listen to it."

"Joker, there's nothing wrong with you that I can't fix... with my hands."

"I want you... to remember, Clark... in all the years to come... in your most private moments... I want you to remember... my hand... at your throat... I want... you to remember... THE ONE MAN WHO BEAT YOU."

What's there to say? One of the most influential comic book stories ever written that helped change the way we look at comic books. A story with many layers and great art that has some of the best Batman moments ever. This is truly one of the best Batman stories.

An outstanding ending to an outstanding series. Right from the start this series was complex and thought-provoking and it continued to be so right until the end. The story was engaging, unpredictable, violent, tragic, heartwarming and human. The characters were well written and their motives always made sense, they felt like real people and not like characters in a story. Then you have the art. This series wouldn't be what it is without the incredible artwork of both Gerards and Shaner, creating a distinct look for both the present and the past that served the story of each timeline really well. When all things considered, this was a great series about war and the effects of war that you don't want to miss.

After discovering the truth from Mr. Terrific, Alanna confronts Adam about it. The issue itself is split into two. On Rann, we see how the war has ended and Adam and Alanna's loving relationship meanwhile on Earth, we see them argue as their marriage falls apart. The difference between both timelines helps to show how heartbreaking this situation really is. We see Adam desperately trying to make this all work out, justifying his actions, thinking himself a hero, not realising what he did was sacrifice earth for the people he loves which is understandable, but not something you can say is heroic. Tom King shatters Adam Strange's heroic image, revealing him to be a fraud who cares only for the people close to him. However, it's not presented in a black and white way because, ultimately, nothing in real life is black and white. Especially war.

Everything we knew about adam was a lie. His victory on rann wasn't much of a victory. It was a deal. Trying to cover it up only made it worse, it only led to more lies and now, it's time to face the consequences of those lies. Adam is the villain. Or is he? can you really blame him for wanting to save his wife's planet, her home? There's more to it than meets the eye. After all, war is never that simple. This is great!

Absolutely and utterly, incredible!

Matt and Frank debating about the morality of their actions is always fun to read and this issue is no exception. Actually, this issue was better.

This issue has some of the best action scenes I have ever seen. The themes Zdarsky is exploring here and the way he does it is so well-written and thought-provoking. The conversation with his friends, then the flashback with the priest and at last, the confrontation with Spider-Man is all so perfect! There is no doubt in my mind that this is the strongest opening arc for any Daredevil run and Marco Checchetto (and Alex Maleev) is hands down the best Daredevil artist.

Well this was really something else. I think Zdarsky truly understands Spider-Man and what he's all about and the way he incorporated classic Spider-Man stories without them losing what made them special and important while still being fresh and unique proves that.

A bit confusing at times but extremely beautiful and complex way to start.

After a pretty bland issue, we get an issue full of action and excitement. The issue starts with The Joker explaining to a bartender what happened in the last issue, like a recap, except that this time it was from his point of view and it was written like it was a joke, it was pretty great. Tynion really knows how to write The Joker. The rest of the issue is split-up into two parts: Batman fighting with Deathstroke and Catwoman escaping from The Riddler's hideout with Harley Quinn. The fight between Batman and Deathstroke was, just as you'd expect, awesome. I think Tynion nailed Batman's dialogue in this issue (including the inner monologue). Also, the way it ended was exciting. I mean, Batman teaming-up with Deathstroke to fight The Riddler and his tricks sounds cool as hell to me. On the other side, we have Catwoman and Harley Quinn, trying to escape after getting ambushed by the Designer. It was cool and I enjoyed the dynamics between Catwoman and Harley and the way it ended was great. So overall, a pretty damn good issue.

So we finally got some answers to our questions and... it was pretty underwhelming. Very simple and safe way to keep the story going. I don't think this is bad, just not anything to be excited about. There's really not much to talk about here, I honestly expected more. The twist at the end was pretty neat though.

Wow, what a way to start the series. The first issue already deals with heavy themes like Facts vs Fiction that are super interesting in my opinion. Also, just like Mister Miracle, this issue creates a feeling of discomfort, making you question everything that you see which fits perfectly with what King is trying to do with this series. Combine all of this with Gerads and Shaner's absolutely beautiful art and you got yourself a hell of a first issue to start the series with. I'm so goddamn excited to see how this one will turn out.

Batman: Curse of the White Knight #7 Feb 26, 2020

I really don't have much to say about this issue because not a lot happened but it was still entertaining. Harley and Selina team up as Batman continues to search for answers and The Riddler is missing. Meanwhile, Joker is getting ready to execute his own plan with the help of Punchline. So yeah, not a lot in terms of story progression but we still got some fun action scenes and the few new information bits we got are just enough to keep me interested in what's going on. Also, the art this time around was better than usual, so that's another plus. Overall, it was enjoyable but I hope the pace will pick-up from now on because, so far, this is my biggest problem with this arc.

Damn, that was intense. This time around I don't have anything bad to say except that the art was a bit inconsistent. But even then, I still enjoyed it. Anyways, this issue was pretty good and I liked a lot of things about it: I liked how the scenes with Catwoman felt as they came out of a Horror movie. Catwoman is apparently involved with The Joker, Riddler, and Pinguin which makes for an interesting twist. The new "Portable Batmobile" gadget was one of the coolest gadgets I've seen in a Batman comic in a long time. The dynamics between Batman and Lucius Fox are super entertaining. The way Tynion is building up The Designer is fascinating. It's intense, mysterious and most importantly, Interesting. I honestly can't wait to see who he is and what his plan is. So all in all, this week Tynion delivered an intense, mysterious, atmospheric and (mostly) beautiful issue that will keep you guessing and invested in what's going on.

It was decent. Let me start with what I liked: The art was enjoyable. The action scene at the end was cool. The atmosphere. The story is still interesting. Now, my biggest problem with this issue is the pace. It was slow, maybe too slow. This issue had a lot of dialogue, yet we still don't know much about what's going on. So overall, in terms of story, we didn't get meaningful progress. Which is weird, because with that much dialogue you'd expect otherwise. I hope the next issue picks up the pace.

Batman: Curse of the White Knight #6 Jan 22, 2020

This issue was definitely a return-to-from. I'm glad we are done with the "2099" event. Now we can finally move to the main story. You know, the one that's actually interesting. Anyways, this issue had some really nice moments (Peter and MJ's date) and some funny ones too (JJJ and Norah's talk). The ending, for the first time in a long time, has me excited to see what will happen and overall, I think this issue was fun and worth reading.

A promising start with an interesting set-up and some wonderful action scenes. I liked how Tynion didn't just ignore King's run and that we can see how Alfred's death affects Batman. I'm also pleased to see that Selina is still a major supporting character. Another thing that I enjoyed was the epilogue. I really like how Tynion is setting up the Joker. I hope this will pay off. Tony Daniel did an excellent job as usual and I hope that we'll see more of him in the future. Overall, this issue was a solid start to the run. I'm interested to see what Tynion has in store for us. Hopefully, it will be good.

Yeah... this arc is just not for me

It was okay. I have to say I'm a bit underwhelmed with this, the fight with Thomas wasn't so exciting and this issue didn't bring anything new to the table, just more of the same. It just didn't feel special. I did enjoy most of it and I understand what King was doing with this issue but I wish there was more to it. The art was great, I'll miss Janin and overall the conclusion was heartwarming and it did fit the story and what King was trying to say. Guess we'll get a more satisfying conclusion in the Bat/Cat series. Oh, and the sneak peek at the end was great, can't wait to see what Tynion has to bring to the table.

Oh man, I'm going to miss Snyder and Capullo's Batman.

This series is truly a love letter to Superman. And one of the better ones I'd say.

This is a top-tier comic book.

Heartwarming and awesome. This was a great issue and a return-to-form for the series. Apparently this is the last issue, oof. It's been great, I'll miss this.

Oh man, what an unfortunate time to release this issue. This could have been so much better if it was released instead of issue #81. As it stands, this issue does a good job establishing Thomas's motivations. It gives us a much-needed explanation of what Thomas was doing all along and why he did it. However, I can't say that the fact this issue came so late in the arc didn't affect my enjoyment, because it did. And as usual, The art is beautiful, just as you'd expect from this run.

This was better than the last issue, but I'm still not really into it. However, I have a feeling that it's going to get better. We'll see.

This is probably the most emotional issue in the entire arc so far. Bruce learns about the death of Alfred which brings him to tears. The dialogue in this issue is mostly Alfred's last words to Bruce. Alfred recounts important events from Bruce's life, from the death of his parents to the wedding that never happened and concludes that Bruce will be happy again, smile again because he was already happy before and that he always finds a way to turn tragic events into something Hopeful. It's a powerful message.

The story was phenomenal but I really didn't like the art.

An excellent way to start a new series.

I liked the ending, the art, and some moments through-out the issue, but the story is just not that interesting.

This issue is pretty much a one big fight scene between Batman and Bane. And because of that, not much happened up until the end where Thomas steps in and changes the story in a meaningful way. It was short but a fun read due to the fact that it's one big fight scene. And as usual, Janin's art is great.

Batman Annual #4 is a collection of short stories - told by Alfred - that perfectly captures the everyday life of Batman. There is no dialogue between characters, only Alfred explaining what we see on paper. And what we see on paper is beautiful art by Jorge Fornes and Mike Norton that makes this issue even better.

Meh.

The story is decent, but it resolved too quickly.

That cliffhanger... Can't wait for the next issue.

Come on King, you have 4 more issues left, you can't do a recap now, that's not the right time. Even the little bit of progress we did get was unsatisfying because Bruce's plan doesn't make any sense. And on top of that, the art was underwhelming and boring to look at. What a waste of time.

Amazing Spider-Man (2018) #31 Oct 10, 2019

A fantastic ending to the series With both House/Powers of X, Hickman has managed to create something truly special. From the story to the art, every aspect of this series was great. Hickman not only changed X-men forever, but he also saved it. I honestly can't wait to see what will come next. A must-read for every X-men fan.

That was fun. So after a character-focused interlude, we go back to the main story with an action-packed issue. Not a lot happened in this issue. Batman is back. Beat up some villains. Gotham girl seems to be sick. Damian might get killed or not, probably not. And that's it. While I did enjoy this issue, I hope this is just the start of the finale and that it all won't end with Batman just going around Gotham, beating up everybody. I hope we'll get something more complex and unique than that. I also thought that the art was underwhelming. Tony Daniel should have been on this instead.

Terrific. This issue was a fantastic conclusion to this amazing series. Everything went according to plan and Krakoa is now established as a nation. However, I can't shake the feeling that something will go wrong. Well, I guess we'll have to wait for the last issue of Powers of X to see if there will be any twist that will change everything.

Amazing Spider-Man (2018) #30 Sep 25, 2019

This issue is a perfect example of why I like Elseworlds stories so much.

It was fine. Art was ok, there were some moments I liked (Batman's conversation on the roof for example), but I don't like how Tomasi wrote Mr. Freeze in this issue. Nothing really exciting about this issue, guess I'm not into the story just yet.

Hickman continues to impress. As we approach the end, Hickman takes his time to explain how Xavier managed to copy the minds of every mutant and how Emma Frost is connected to the story. In the end, we get a hint that indicates that there's a bigger problem that isn't solved yet. Not only this issue was interesting, but it was also crucial to understanding the story and how Xavier's plan came to be.

Absolute Carnage (2019) #3 Sep 18, 2019

This issue, just like last time, is a character issue that focuses on Bruce and Selina. Except that this time around it's more related to the main story as it gives us some answers we wanted to know and keeps to plot going, albeit in a slow pace (which I like because it's a much-needed break from all the action of the last issues). I'm going to say it again. I like the fact that we got an issue the focuses on Bruce and Selina because I think it's one of the most important aspects of King's run. I think this issue was necessary because not only it explores Bruce and Selina's relationship even more, it explains why they are even there. It ties in the interlude to the main story nicely. Oh, and don't even get me started on the art.

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (2019) #12 Sep 18, 2019

What a beautiful issue. This time around, we get an issue that gives us a lot of needed information. The whole resurrection process was so carefully detailed and interesting. Pretty much the highlight of the issue for me. After that, we get some more information about mutant diplomacy, and by the end, it looks like all mutants are finally united. All of it connects so nicely to what we've seen in past issues. It amazes me every time. All of this wouldn't work as well without the beautiful art from Larraz. Fantastic work from him.

Amazing Spider-Man (2018) #29 Sep 11, 2019

I really liked it. I can already see people complaining about how this is filler but I think that it's good to finally have a more laid back issue that focuses on Bruce and Selina's relationship, especially after they were separated for so long. I thought that it was well written, heartwarming and beautiful. The art is so good I don't think I know a word to describe how good it is. And most importantly, this issue felt earned. I've been waiting for this kind of issue since #50 so I'm happy we finally got one.

Well, bruce takes down Deadshot in a quick hand to hand combat, Hiroshi gets shot but survives in the end, just like everybody else. That's pretty much it. There were some moments I liked (like when Bruce gave supply boxes to Hiroshi and Clarence and just in general, the interactions between Bruce, Clarence and Hiroshi were heartwarming and fun) and the art was good, but I don't have much to say about this issue except that it felt a bit rushed and genuinely not that interesting. In regards to Mr.Frezze, it seems like he's trying to recreate Nora. I mean, I wonder what could go wrong. Anyways, I'm interested to see what will happen in that story.

The beginning with Sinister was just awesome, the birth of Krakoa explained by Cypher was insightful and beautiful, and the end was as interesting as it gets. Combine all of this with Silva's fantastic art, and we got ourselves another great issue that keeps the plot going even if we don't understand everything right now.

Underwhelming. I had expectations from the last issue, but sadly, Tomasi didn't deliver. The story is just not interesting whatsoever and full of cliches. Some cool moments, awesome Batman outfit, and good art was all this issue had to offer, which is not much. I'm just waiting for this arc to be over at this point. Also, what does Mr.Freeze has to do with this story? I guess it's just a build-up but still. Feels weird to see him on the cover all the time, yet he has nothing to do with the actual story.

House of X keeps you on edge every time. This issue was not an exception. Once again, the storylines connect beautifully to each other and it's so satisfying to read. The issue starts with the X-Men getting ready to execute their masterplan, and ends with an unexpected turn. I like how the stakes are always high because you don't know what's going to happen. Everybody can die it seems. Anyways, great issue and fantastic art as usual. House of X has to be one of the best ongoing series right now.

Venom (2018) #17 Aug 28, 2019

Well, this is going to be divisive. Let me start by saying that the art is just brilliant, seriously, it's so damn good! Anyways, this issue is divided into two parts. Most of the issue is Damian fighting his way to Thomas so he could take him down and the rest is Bruce and Selina talking to each other, trying to figure out what to do next. The issue ends with one of the most important, if not the most important thing that happened in the series so far, the death of Alfred (or maybe it's Clayface?) which raises the stakes of the story to a new height. Now I just want more, can't wait for the next issue.

This issue pulls you in right from the start, up until the end. With more action than before, Amazing art and a great ending. We get an intense issue that sets up the next issue of House of X amazingly well.

Amazing Spider-Man (2018) #27 Aug 14, 2019

Very cool issue. Don't let the cover fool you, Mr. Freeze is barely in this issue at all and instead, we got Deadshot who's on a mission that we know nothing about right now. Most of the issue is Bruce doing work for Wayne Enterprises, which is something we barely see these days if at all. Nonetheless, it was nice to see. The story itself wasn't all that interesting, but I still like where this is going. Oh, and the art was great.

7.5
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (2019) #10 Aug 14, 2019

Hickman's storytelling is brilliant. The story is told in different periods, and they all connect so well, it's an effective way to tell a story and a blast to read. But Hickman is not the only one who does a great job here. Silva is doing a phenomenal job giving life to Hickman's story.

WOW! Cates and Stegman are back together and it's just beautiful. I'm speechless! this was so much fun, from start to end. Every single page was entertaining and a blast to read. Read this!

Gotham is descending into madness and it's such a joy to read. The issue starts with Gotham Girl and Captain Atom fighting because Atom can sense that something is wrong in the city but gets beaten by Gotham Girl pretty easily (maybe the fight should have been tenser or longer), reinforcing the idea that getting into Gotham city without Bane's permission is not an easy task to do. We then jump to scenes with Kite Man (Hell Yeah!) and Scarecrow trying to run away from Bane but eventually they get caught because no one can escape Bane's plan. While all of this is happening we get some scenes that show us Catwoman trying to take care of Bruce. Loved those scenes and I can't wait for Bruce to finally wake up and give us what we waited for so long. Tony Daniel's art here was probably one of his best. Such a good artist.

House of X continues to be an engaging, thought-provoking, unique experience that you don't want to miss. This issue left me speechless. Simply put - It's a masterpiece.

Two great short stories with a fantastic art about who Superman is and what he stands for.

"CAN I BE ROBIN NOW?" Snyder and Capullo most definitely delivered with this one. In this issue, we get more questions answered but also more question as to what is going on. It gives us what we wanted but still leaves us wanting more. Whatever Snyder has in store for us in the finale, I'm sure that as long as it is as good as this one, it'll end up as one of the best stories of this year. Just like last time, I can't get enough of the Joker, the dynamics between him and Batman are so much fun to read. I also found it to be a great balance as it serves as comedic relief in a rather dark story. And as usual, Capullo's art is a perfect match to what Snyder is trying to tell and I can't get enough of it.

Amazing Spider-Man (2018) #26 Jul 24, 2019

I loved the original series, so I'm happy to see it's back. Once again, Sean Murphy gets crazy with his ideas and makes us think differently about the Wayne family. And just like last time, it was interesting. This was a set-up issue, so there wasn't a lot of action, but I think Murphy did a great job and I'm excited to see where this series will go. And as usual, Murphy's art was great. I love how he draws his characters.

That was fun. Not much else to say, it's a classic Joker story that shows perfectly well why Joker is such a fun villain.

What an epic start to this arc. In this issue, we get to see Gotham under the control of Bane. Joker and Riddler taking on a homicide call, Hugo Strange is the commissioner and Batman is Thomas. Everything is different now and not only it is fun to read, but it also sets up the story amazingly well. On the other side of the story, we got Bruce, on a quest to find someone who is revealed at the end of the issue and has me super excited to see where this is going. Art, as usual for this series was amazing. Both Daniel and Gerad just draw some beautiful stuff. Not much else to say, it's damn good. Honestly, I couldn't ask for a better start for this arc. Can't wait to see how this will end.

well, it's been a year since Spencer took over this title and I've got to say it's been pretty good so far. This issue has it all and it's probably my favorite so far, everyone is at their best in this and it's so much fun to read. Let's hope for another good year like this.

"The Fall and the Fallen" arc ends with a bang. In the finale of this arc, Bruce and Thomas make their way to the pit in order to resurrect Martha. With some twists and turns, amazing art that created a very atmospheric issue and served the more personal story well, we get a very interesting and intense issue that left me super excited for the next arc.

A good issue but it still left me somewhat unsatisfied. The best part about the last issue was definitely the art and it was just as good this time around. However, the story was a bit rushed, leaving us with a lot of unanswered questions. My biggest problem with this issue, just like I said, was that it was a bit rushed and I think it would have been better if we got another issue or two to create a better more satisfying story. I wanted to know more about the cult and their motivations and I think it's a shame because it could have been better in that aspect. There are still some things to enjoy about this though, it had a great atmosphere, the dynamic between Batman and the Spectre was enjoyable and the action parts were cool as well. Overall, it was a good issue with some cool action and awesome art (which was the highlight of this issue) but I can't shake the feeling that this arc should have been longer.

Cates is back and it's about time he does because this was a great issue that sets up the next arc pretty well.

Very interesting issue. Tomasi's run on Detective Comics continues and after a rather disappointing end to his Arkham Knight story, we get a promising start to a new arc. With this issue, we go back to what made me love his first arc on this run so much - the detective stuff. Throughout the issue, I felt a sense of mystery and I liked how Hotz's art helped establish this feeling. I also liked the interactions between Batman and Spectre, their opposing views helped making this issue more intense and I'm interested to see more of this in the upcoming issues. Great issue, pick this one up.

Fantastic issue. This time around, we follow Thomas Wayne as he makes his way through the desert, setting up camps, fighting and singing to himself. While all of this is happening, I was at awe by how beautiful Janin's art was, just damn beautiful. Halfway through the issue, Bruce wakes up and that's where the interesting part starts. They both have a conversation about what happened prior and where they are heading. By the end, Bruce realizes where they are going and who is inside the coffin they were carrying. That realization ultimately makes us realize what was Thomas's plan all along and why he was helping Bane, and damn I thought it was good, I was in a complete shock. The issue ends with Bruce putting his cowl and looking like he's ready to help Thomas. The pace of this issue was nothing short of perfection, the balance between the silent pages and the ones with Bruce and Thomas talking to each other was great as it helped to make this issue super intense. Oh, and did I already mention that Janin's art was amazing? Because it was. And I also got to give praise for Bellaire, because that coloring was perfection.

"ANOTHER LOST SOUL WHO THOUGHT SHE WAS A HERO INSTEAD OF A VILLAIN." Underwhelming but still enjoyable. So that's it, the arc is over and it was good overall but I think the finale was a bit underwhelming. Arkham Knight's plan felt pointless at the end and the fight between her and Batman was over way too quickly in my opinion. To be honest, not just the fight between Arkham Knight and Batman was over way too quickly, the whole finale felt rushed. It was still fun (especially the interactions between Robin and Batman) and full of action and the art was great but I was hoping for something better. Anyways, I'd still recommend you read this Arc, it was pretty good overall.

"Every day. Every DAMN day. They try to end him. And every day. Every damn day. He tells them. I'm still here." I enjoyed it but it needs to pick up the pace. I didn't think this was bad, I actually enjoyed it and I liked how it all connects but once again we don't learn anything that is truly new, just another perspective. This issue was mostly a recap of the story so far and even though I like where this is going I think it's too slow. Come on, get going already. The art was amazing as usual.

What a great way to end this arc. Finally, Kraven has been given a closure.

What a fantastic first book. The story is great so far and the art is fantastic. It sets up everything perfectly and is basically everything I liked about Snyder and Capullo's run and more. The highlight for me was the Joker, the way Snyder utilized him in this was such an awesome idea. There are still some parts where some things are still unclear to me but it adds to the mystery so I'm cool with that. I'm super excited to see where this is going and I can't wait for the next one.

Masterpiece.

Honestly, in the end, "Heroes In Crisis" fails in almost everything it tried to do. From the story to exploring mental health, it was unsatisfying and boring. The only thing that this series did "good" (besides the amazing art) was making Wally, a very likable character, an unlikable piece of garbage. I really feel bad for his fans, he got treated like shit the whole event. What a shame! definitely the biggest disappointment of the year for me.

Another very enjoyable issue. Just as I expected, this issue was an origin story for Arkham Knight and it was pretty cool. I find it interesting to see someone raised by villains, It makes sense that she hates Batman. I also really enjoyed seeing the more human side of Joker and the others. I think it was a good origin story that made me like Arkham Knight a bit more as a villain. Oh, and her father is pretty terrible at being a father and a dick by not letting her know the real reason for her mother's death. Art as usual for this arc was pretty good.

Decent. We get to see Batman gather up the Bat-family and preparing to fight Bane and we also get to see him finally face Bane again. I really enjoyed the mood of this issue, feels like something really big is about to happen. The narrative was a bit confusing at times but I liked the non-linear approach. There's also a hint about how Batman might just be going mad and I'm really interested to see how King will develop this, though it could end up being a big mess if it turned out that he's just making things up because he's still in pain because of what happened at the wedding (I don't really think this will happen). Still, the ending has me excited for what's coming next and I'm hoping for the best. Oh, and I didn't really like how Gordon was written in this issue, I don't think his reasons to be against Batman are justified. Janin and Fornes's art is fantastic as usual and I can't praise it enough.

It's those small things that make Spider-Man such a good super-hero and one of my favorites. An amazing and emotional issue, a must read!

Terrific issue. This is exactly what I wanted when I saw that Damian will play a big part in this arc. Tomasi completely nails the relationship between Batman and Robin and it's so much fun to read. We also discover the Identity of Arkham Knight (*Spoiler Alert*) and get to know her better. The story is going in an interesting way and the art was fantastic. Really, I don't have much to say except that it's really good and you should read this. All in all, if you are a fan of the relationship between Batman and Damian then this is an issue you'll want to get.

Damn, this issue was brutal. Finally, we get a really good issue, and what an issue it is. This issue is fast, brutal and packed with action from start to finish with a lot of awesome moments and great dialogue. And the art! Damn, it was magnificent. Yes, I'm aware there wasn't a lot of plot progression but I'm sure we'll get it in next issues, especially after that ending. I'm really excited to see where this is going and I can't wait for the next issue.

"WHO'S WORSE? THE MONSTERS, OR THE MONSTER WHO SCARES THE MONSTERS?" Another great issue, Tomasi keeps delivering the goods. Once again, we get another issue with a lot of action and as usual, it was great and looked really good. The fight between Batman and Arkham Knight was handled great and the moment afterward with Jim was awesome. One thing that I didn't expect was the fact that this issue focused a lot on Robin but I really liked it, we definitely need more Robin in Batman comics in my opinion. This issue also gave us hints to what Arkham Knight is planning and it seems interesting so I can't wait to see what Tomasi has in store for us.

So... Wally snaps and kills everyone, then decides to cover up what he did by making it seem like Harley/Booster did it, just so he could then come back and kill himself?? I mean, this is pretty fucking stupid. I'm so disappointed in this series, like really disappointed. The art was great as usual for Gerads but King just missed the mark with this event.

So that's it, we are finally done with Knightmares. To be honest, I expected more. yes, we got some answers to what "Knightmares" was all about and we finally got to see Thomas again so there's a story progression, but the issue still left me unsatisfied. I wanted to see Batman actually breaking through the dreams to face Scarecrow or his father but instead I got to see Bruce explaining to Selina what was Knightmares all about. While I did enjoy reading it, I still wish we got something else to close the arc. Whatever I'm just happy the arc is over and we can finally get to the main story again. Art was fantastic, the highlight of this issue for me, especially the parts with Bruce and Selina. Overall, I enjoyed reading most of it and I'm interested to see what will happen next.

I really enjoyed that issue. It reminded me the "SUPERFRIENDS" arc which I really liked. Thing is, I just feel like this is meaningless because we already know what happened with the wedding. Honestly, I'm just waiting for this arc to end and it seems like next issue is going to be the last one of this arc. Art, as usual, was good.

"BURN BACK THE DARK!" Fantastic start for the arc, i'm so happy that Tomasi is still on this book. I really like where this is going. I'm already really interested in the Knights of the Sun and what thier goal is. We had a lot of action, the issue was filled with mysteries and the art was superb. Can't wait to learn more about the Knights of the Sun and Arkham Knight. Definitely pick this one up.

It's finally here and I'm happy to say it's good. Today we celebrate 80 years for Batman, one of the most iconic characters of all time and I think this is a pretty good celebration. The stories were pretty good overall with Kevin Smith's one being my favorite. Another really good one was Tom King's Batman's Greatest Case, It was really heartwarming and the art was damn good. Overall, the art was Fantastic in all of them. Some better, some less, but all are pretty good. Scott Snyder and Paul Dini also had good stories so look out for them as well. I've got to add that I'm pretty hyped for the next issue, the part at the end with Arkham Knight was awesome and I can't wait to see what Tomasi will do with him Here's to 80 More years of Batman!

"DEATH, YOU'LL SEE MY DEATH" Much better than the last issue. The story actually progressed this time around and everything is starting to fall in place. However, even tho the story progressed I'm not really amazed by it and I still have my worries because the next issue is supposed to be the end for this event so I doubt the story is going to get much better. Art, as usual, except for some panels, was great.

Hmmm, that was quick. I really don't know how to feel about this one. On one hand, it was a quick fun chase with a weird ending that I kind of liked, and on the other hand, the story went nowhere, like literally, nowhere. Since there was almost no dialogue and it was about 1-2 minutes read, I don't think it's worth the 4$. The art was absolutely marvelous tho.

Decent set up for the arc. Definitely interested to see where this is going.

Ever since The Grim Knight has been introduced I wanted something like this issue. I think the whole concept of Bruce Wayne shooting Joe Chill right there in the alley is really interesting and I'm happy to say that this issue delivered. It ties in nicely to the main book while giving us more info about who The Grim Knight really is and what caused him to help The Batman Who Laughs. Combine all of this with great art and you got yourself a fine issue that I very much recommend.

Well... there's not much to say because the story didn't go anywhere. Everything this issue explored, King already explored before so it made me feel like nothing happened and it's getting repetitive, so yeah. However, I did enjoy reading most of it, especially how Question was utilized and the art grew on me while reading it, I like the noir style, pretty great. I still like where this is going but the arc is just too slow, it needs to start moving.

Every month I'm amazed by how good this series is. Literally, the only "bad" thing I can say about this series is that it takes a lot of time for each issue to come out. But damn it's worth the wait every single time.

"BE YOUR BEST BRUCE. NEVER QUESTION YOUR MISSION. GOTHAM NEEDS YOU." And that's it, the arc is complete. I've got to say, I enjoyed it very much. So this time we figure out that all of it was not real and just a way for Batman to test himself and improve himself even more. I really liked the idea that he did it just so he could save more people but the execution could have been better. Also, the epilogue was heartwarming and I'm really happy that Leslie is ok. As usual, art is great and I just can't get enough of it, Mahnke's art is just awesome. Overall it was an excellent arc and I hope Tomasi would continue to be on this book. Can't wait for issue 1000! just one month away.

"I'M... BOOOOOORED!" ye I agree, Harley. When I heard King and Gerads are going to collaborate again I was excited, I like the combination of these two but sadly this time around only Gerads delivered. Literally, almost nothing happened in this issue except in the end when we got some clue to who the killer is but anything else leading up to this point was just a whole lot of nothing. I knew this issue was supposed to be more focused on the PTSD part of the event but still, even then, King didn't explore that subject that much. I'm disappointed. This event, in my opinion, started so well but ever since issue 3 it's been going downhill. I really hope King will surprise me but I'm starting to lose hope.

A modern classic. What can I say, this is my favorite series from 2018 and probably one of my favorites of all time. Everything in this series is fantastic. The writing, the art, the goddamn art. Another impressive issue. I honestly couldn't ask for a better arc leading to issue 1000. Once again, Mahnke delivers with the art, it's just beautiful, especially the parts when batman wore that awesome hellbat suit. But the best part in my opinion was that cliffhanger, I did not expect something like that whatsoever and it was just great. That being said, i'm a bit dissapointed that strange wasn't a big part of the story and just a minor part in it. It makes last issue's cliffhanger kind of meaningless and less exciting. Anyways, Tomasi and Mahnke delivered once again and i'm really excited to see how it all ends next issue (holy shit we are just two issues away from issue 1000!).

"YOU NEED WHAT I NEED... I NEED YOU TO SHUT THE HELL UP" Another great issue. This series keeps delivering the goods. This time the issue is more action oriented and I absolutely loved it. We get to see Batman escape some old school and impossible trap like it's from Adam West's Batman show and I've got to say I really liked it. I also really liked the writing in the issue, especially how Tomasi handled Batman's thought process when he tries to figure out how to escape. The art, as usual, is fantastic. I just love the way Mahnke draws Batman. Overall, this was a fantastic issue and you should definitely pick it up.

"I'M BATMAN. I DON'T DO PRESS." A decent issue. If there's one thing I don't get is that how come, Batman, "the world's greatest detective" can't figure out what is going on, while Booster Gold and Batgirl seem to get closer to solving the mystery? I'm mean it's pretty stupid if you ask me. I still like where this is going tho. We got a big clue that wally might not be dead and the story is progressing a little bit, Even tho I still wish that it would be in a faster pace because we are more than halfway through and yet to get some real progress. Booster Gold and Blue Beetle's team up is still awesome, Superman gave an emotional speech and the art is superb. I just want to story to progress faster and in a way that makes sense (like Batman figuring out how to solve the mystery and live up to his reputation as the world's greatest detective). I did enjoy most of it tho, so there's that.

"JUST ANOTHER DREAM BECOMING JUST ANOTHER NIGHTMARE" Well, this is probably the best issue of the arc so far and Janin's art was great in this issue, probably the best it's been in a while. This time we get to see how the relationship between Bruce and Selina might have been and it was fun while it lasted. Makes me even more sad that we didn't get to see the wedding at the end. We're also going somewhere this time around, and I'm starting to realize what King is trying to do with this arc. I find it to be very interesting and I'm excited to see where this is going. I also really liked Constantine in this and how King utilized him in the end, very clever. Recommended!

Another fantastic issue. I really liked the detective stuff in this issue. I felt a lot of tension and a sense of mystery unlike anything else I read in a while. The part with Henri Ducard was great and unexpected, Damian being in this issue was also a great touch and the ending have me intrigued. Combine all of this with Mahnke's top-notch art and you got yourself one of the best comic books available right now.

This was just great! The twist about Eddie's past was great and that ending really caught me off guard. All of that made even better with Ryan Stegman's magnificent art. Just get it, it's really worth it.

"LITTLE PIG... LITTLE PIG..." King and Gerads team up for the first time after mister miracle and it's pretty damn good. This issue didn't expand on the big story, so if you expected something like that you might be disappointed. In this issue, we get to see the thought process of Batman while he's trying to figure out how to handle the situation. It really puts you in Batman's shoes and I was so immersed by that. But all of this wouldn't work without the art, which is the highlight of this issue in my opinion. It was so damn good. So good that the art alone is almost enough for me to tell you to read it but luckily, the writing was also great. That being said, the cliffhanger was a bit confusing and even after a second read I don't really know what it means, But it sure is interesting.

"I WANT YOU ALL TO THINK OF THIS PLACE LIKE A CARNIVAL FUNHOUSE TONIGHT... EXCEPT THE ONLY MONSTER IN HERE WITH YOU... IS ME" Wow, this issue has it all. Badass batman, one of the most touching moments in a comic book I read in a while, gorgeous art and an interesting story. Pick this one up. I can't recommend it enough.

"BROS BEFORE HEROES" Probably my least favorite issue so far. Nobody seems to grieve about the fact that a lot of heroes died and Harley Quinn is just too sexualized (page 16, for example, was just not necessary) But overall the art was great as usual. Booster and Blue Beetle parts were awesome and I liked the ending, seems to be going in an interesting way. That's it, not a lot happened to be honest, but I had fun reading it for the most part.

good stuff. This time we go deeper into jonah's past and explore his relationship with spider-man. It's well written, well drawn and i'm interested to see where this is heading to, especially after the reveal at the end.

Well... nothing really happened this issue. This issue is a sequel to issue 38 (an issue I really liked) so we get to see the kid who wants to be batman again. The problem is that this issue, unlike issue 38, relies too much on next issues to come and doesn't stand on it's own. The reveal at the end is pretty good and the art was great (matthews face in page 20 is a good example). The only thing that connects to the main story is that bane might use matthew for his big plan, but that's not really exciting to be honest.

Heartwarming and unique story about the relationship between bruce and alfred that will make you appreciate alfred even more.

Damn, tomasi did not disappoint. The detective stuff were really well done. Art is great and this was one of the best issues of batman I read in a while. And that ending! I can't express how much I want the next issue already. If you are looking for a batman comic other than the main series, than this one seems to be the best one (at least according to this issue).

"I AM YOUR FATHER" Jokes aside, it was a good issue. Batman is out of control and starts beating everyone in search of the truth. while Alfred and Penguin have an interesting conversation that shows once again the human side of Penguin. Best part of the issue was the reveal at the end. I found it to be really interesting and I'm very intrigued to see where this is going.

"WELL... EVERYONE'S DEAD." This time around we get to see the moments before the murder in the sanctuary. It's touching (especially wally's part), well drawn and I think this might be my favorite issue so far. Only problem is that harley quinn is pretty op since the start of the event. RECOMMENDED.

Great issue. The story is progressing in an interesting way, art is great, and overall i'm feeling that everything we read so far is starting to pay off. I also got to add that even though we know Bane is controlling arkham he played a broken version of himself pretty good. Penguin was also great in this as we get to see his human side.

"YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE THAN THIS, FELICIA. YOU'RE GOING TO BE HAPPY AND SAFE AND FREE. BUT IN THE MEANTIME... WE GIVE THE DEVIL HIS DUE" Much better than last issue. Story is going strong and I really enjoyed the spidey/cat parts. MJ sub plot was also pretty great, I hope we will get more of it. (Also, RIP Stan Lee)

King and Gerads managed to create something truly spectacular and I can't believe it's over. It makes me both happy and sad, It might be over but It was definitely a hell of a ride. Great one shot. The stories were awesome (even though some of them are really short) and the art was mostly pretty great. Definitely recommended.

"EH, NO NEED TO WORRY, SKEETS! I'VE LEARNED A THING OR TWELVE IN ALL MY YEARS FIGHTING THE CRIME. FOR EXAMPLE. IF YOU ARE IN A TRICKY SITUATION, YOU JUST HAVE TO ASK YOURSELF... WHAT WOULD BATMAN DO?" I liked this issue a lot, art is great, story is interesting, and I can't wait to see where this is going. The best part of this book was definitely the trinity going to the sanctuary, absolutely brilliant in my opinion. it makes me connect with them even more, makes them more relatable. I loved it! Now, the only thing that was bothering me was that Harley Quinn managed to escape batman, superman and wonder woman so easily. Also, what penguin has to do with the story? I hope we'll get an answer for that.

"I'M THE WORLD GREATEST DETECTIVE. I'LL FIND OUT WHO HIRED YOU. AND I WILL BREAK THEM TOO. YOU CAN GET YOUR OWN DAMN HELP" Pretty great conclusion. Art by Tony Daniel was fantastic as usual and I liked how the fairytale connected to the story at the end. It makes me excited for what's coming next. This is how I think the fairytale connected to the story: Fox (Batman) goes to the church to pray for god and on the way there he meets other animals. Fox seems to be very nice and friendly. After the fairytale takes a dark turn (when they fall to the pit) Fox ends up doing fucked up things in order to survive. Batman (wounded), like fox, realizes that he might have to do "fucked up things" and leave KGBeast out there (which means KGBeast will probably die) in order to survive. Overall what I think the fairytale is trying to say is that even the best people (like batman) will do anything in order to survive. My only problem with this issue is that there wasn't enough dialogue between KGBeast and batman. Overall it was a great arc.

The "SUPERFRIENDS" arc in this was solid but forgettable, especially after we know what happened at the wedding (yes, I read this after I read issue 50 but It didn't really affect the overall score). "Everyone Loves Ivy" was a complete mess and probably the worst story in this run so far. I didn't like it at all. Issue 44 was ok. Not a lot happened, but I still had fun reading it. Batman Vol. 7: Endgame Apr 21, 2018

Fantastic! The first three issues were really good and the story kept me interested throughout it all. Art was absolutely great and there's really nothing else to add. Definitely worth a read. After the third issue we get to "SUPERFRIENDS", a story about Superman and Batman and it was amazing. The best part about it was the reflection of Superman and Batman's friendship and how they view each other. I thought it was really good and it definitely made me smile. "SUPERFRIENDS" was probably my favorite part of this volume. Now, about the Annual. It was perfect. One of the best Batman stories King ever wrote. It was a touching story that every Batman fan should read. And while it's more different than your typical Batman story it's just too good to miss. Overall, this volume is probably my favorite one so far and you should definitely pick this up.

"Hush little baby, don't say a word. Daddy's going to buy you a mocking bird. And if that mocking bird wont sing... Daddy's going to buy you a GODDAMN diamond ring." DAMN.

*SPOILERS* A well-written story with absolutely wonderful art. Mikel Janin is killing it! I really like what King did with The Joker, he was truly terrifying. I also liked The Riddler in this, he was such a psychopath. I mean, all this war, including killing Kiteman's son just to make The Joker laugh? damn! that was sick. I thought the ending was a bit disappointing. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but It felt a little bit anti-climatic. Oh well, I still really liked the twist so meh, who cares. Great arc.

The story and art were solid but I thought the ending was a little bit disappointing. This had the potential to be so much better. Still really fun tho.

That was great. The story was much more enjoyable than the first arc and the art was excellent. I'm really into it.
