If I could give a book an 11/10, I would give this a 14.

Incredible. Those 60 pages flew by and I still wanted more, that is rare to impossible.

Very odd for a Batman story, but also incredible. I loved everything about this book.

This was a very interesting look into what is going on in Batman's mind while trapped in the Dark Multiverse. It reminds of Snyder at his best in the days of the Court of Owls and how he can explore the more vulnerable parts of Bruce's psyche.

I'm with one of the other users. I think this is shaping up to be the Batman story of the decade.

This was incredible. So much lore and detail packed into one sci-fi epic and this felt like the culmination of everything Snyder has done the past 2 years.

Okay, wow. I love Marv Wolfman's old work a lot and my expectations for this were not high at all after seeing his recent work on the second Raven series, but Marv Wolfman may have had good reason to push for this to be published for so long. This story perfectly captures the feeling you want while reading a Superman story and though his origin stories are a dime a dozen, this is a very unique period of time for the book to take place and very well done. I dreaded this but quickly changed my mind.

The tone and dialogue grab your attention and refuse to relinquish. Can we get an ongoing?

There is just too much to love about this issue from the lullaby, parent banter, the grim look of the battlefield vs the bright colours while raising the baby, and all the shirts Scott wears.

I already miss it. Does anyone know what the successor teased at the end is? :V If they mean spiritual successor I hope it isn't Martian Manhunter. They have called that "Martian Manhunter by way of Mister Miracle" but I have far less faith in Steve Orlando.

Seminal work. A complete deconstruction of the Mister Miracle that is great for people who have read every Mister Miracle volume and easily approachable for anyone else. Completely stands on it's own and if you like stories that dive a bit deeper into the human psyche, this story is for you.

Consider this a review for the full series since the omnibus is not listed. This story is masterfully crafted and entirely open-ended without feeling limited by that choice. Every book in the series could likely stand on its own and be a pretty good read, but it is reading them all together that makes this an absolutely incredible story. This longform story of Seven Soldiers who can only be successful as a team without ever meeting, leaves many unsuspecting threads to other stories in the line and it all builds to a climax that makes use of it all (just be sure to be extra attentive, as I missed a very important detail myself). This is basically the bible of how to successfully crossover several titles into a grandiose epic. Not all stories are equal however, sorry Mister Miracle.

I love this book. Adapting one of the most important Superman stories historically and with amazing Gurihiru art.

Every panel of this first issue is burnt into my memory, ever since around 1997 when I first read it, there are few books like that for me. I am actually reviewing the original Image copies of The Maxx since I personally slightly dislike the colouring of IDW's run, but you could argue the more warm and soft colours of Maxximized work for the dreamy themes of the comic. It just comes at the cost of a sharper, more vibrant, and aggressive look that also works. The world of The Maxx is a real trip and is basically a big metaphor for escapism from your own problems, people who can relate to this will get the most out of it. I think The Maxx has gone overlooked for too long and is quite possibly my favourite comic book of all-time. Now, is the perfect time to revisit this cult classic since Maxx Returns was announced on the book's 25th anniversary.

This book is big and beautiful, really makes you appreciate the Black Label format. Denys Cowan's style looks tremendously different than it did in Denny O'Neil's run on the character and still so much different than his Deathstroke work, it is a bit sketchy but I dig it. Jeff Lemire has successfully returned Question to form while integrating aspects of Steve Ditko's Question.

This really could have been a Jonah Hex book, but I am not complaining. This has really made Question more of a mystical character, and that is a bit strange, but it also works. Loved it.

One of the best reads you will have and the story that made me a fan of Tom King. (Ha he's ours now @ DC fans ;])

Wow.

What sets apart Doomsday Clock from other events recently is how confident it is in itself. It has high expectations to live up to, nerd expectations (looking at you friend whose name rhymes with Macy ;)), the highest of all expectations. For me it succeeds with flying colours. I predict a lot of purists will cry foul that Comedian was saved, but another group would complain if he weren't included at all. I was completely absorbed front to back. The art by Gary Frank really nails the darker aesthetic you would expect from the Watchmen meeting with the DCU and Geoff Johns is like the only writer I can think of who could do this justice. I think purists should get over Watchmen's legacy and appreciate the event for what it is. Watchmen will always be the fantastic graphic novel it is, that doesn't mean you shouldn't ever attempt to pull any risks or put it on a pedestal that can never be touched. Do you know how many ongoings have heroes with groundbreaking graphic novels? Pink Floyd didn't stop after Dark Side of the Moon. Why should Watchmen?

I was afraid we weren't going to learn more about Rorschach until the final few issues, with all the delays happening it somewhat gives the impression it didn't really progress the story, but collected this will be a really great part of the story to read and as always I loved the backup feature further fleshing out the world of Watchmen.

Filled to the brim with Johns' passion for these characters. There is just so much in this one issue.

We're in it now, boys.

This potentially fixes everything wrong with the DC Universe since New 52 if they stick with it. Canon as it is now is questionable how it will lead here, but it sounds like it *will* happen. Also that surprise crossover... kind of blew my mind.

I didn't think annual #2 could be topped, and I am not sure it was but this was a heartwarming story about my favourite old man in comics.

A celebration of the versatility of Batman, from the darkest stories to the fun. This is basically Tom King's Batman Universe and a good aside to his run which features less traditional Batman.

It is like Hellblazer never left us. Fantastic.

Wonderful Vertigo Hellblazer at its best.

I really want to be more varied with my scores for this series, but this series keeps surpassing my expectations. I can't even predict what will happen in each arc and it is always something I didn't know I wanted. Like a twisted and grimey Little Mermaid love story.

Morbid, cynical, and great as always.

Off to a pretty great start. Funny enough even though Tom King is known for deconstruction of a character, this is the closest thing to silver age Adam Strange since his solo series in the 90s' changed his appearance and totally retcons his supporting cast's motives for the worse. The name of his daughter is wrong, it is supposed to be Aleea, but that can just as easily be blamed on the editor. Small con. It feels much different than I expected. It didn't wow me quite as much as Mister Miracle's first issue, but it is definitely a different feeling TK title. Love the art from both artists. Some fantastic visuals.

A lot of buildup showing newcomers what kind of character Mister Terrific is. Constantly quizzing himself, with the help of his T-Sphere. This was probably the most Tom King portion of the book. He loves to use dry and casual scenes of characters doing what they do. Building up expectations for the reader. "Sometimes it appears you're in 3rd, but you're actually lapping the ones ahead of you" The scenes of Doc Shaner are all beautiful. The writing seems to be setting up some deeper themes of racism or colonialism. Mitch Gerads' art is perhaps on par and sometimes better in my opinion than on Mister Miracle, but they have completely different styles. My only concern is how this read as a second issue. It definitely leaves you wanting more than what was given, an issue that will be completely solved without the delays and being placed inside a trade.

This was absolutely jam packed considering it is a 3 panel story with two stories unfolding at once. The last few issues it felt like whether something was up or not, was up in the air, however this one suddenly got dirty feeling. The art really captures feigned smiles and disappointment in oneself. As a fan of Adam Strange and his secondary cast of characters, and having to read Sardath's turn from lovable elder to messed up survivalist... I hope Alanna is only just making it look worse for herself. I am pretty sick of political comics, and this is definitely one, but it is actually relevant and comes off as realistic. There really is an alternative media station that loves to soil the water by bringing up much smaller things as a counterpoint to support their own, and rally its viewers together for conspiracies. They also got Aleea's name right. Giving me hope they go back and fix issue 1's typo in the trade.

I am glad this isn't canon because of how certain characters are acting, not that Sardath has never had a heel turn before. This book is fantastic. The real star all along has been Mister Terrific. His giving Sardath the God Hand has cemented this issue as a classic.

This felt so grounded. Almost like a Nolan version of what Adam Strange could be. With every issue the story escalates further and you can just feel the tension with every appearance of Adam and Alanna as the investigation goes on in the background. Doc Shaner and Mitch Gerads both kill it as always. Throughout this series Alanna has felt very cold and scary, but given the past story and the 30 days of isolation and survivial, it really makes sense for her character to evolve in such a way. Definitely far from the sweet Alanna in the silver age days, but still a very gripping and deeper take on the character.

This is the kind of Harley story we need. My only complaint is that Stejpan uses overused phrases a little too much (eg. Path to Hell is paved with good intentions, recycling door, and the definition of insanity). The art was beautiful and Harley is really well written.

I thought this was excellent. I feel like he improved as a writer already and it is honestly surprising this is his first written book at DC. Also I know Stejpan is very in touch with the fan community so if he somehow sees this... hello o7

Stuck the landing. One of the best Harley stories to date.

In a podcast on Word Balloon, Mark Russel said he grew up reading a lot of MAD and it really shows here. I am an Athiest who grew up in a very Christian area, including my parents, so these jokes really hit home.

Very tense and engaging the entire way through. Solid sci-fi story and an interesting format.

Somewhat surprisingly, Tom King really gets Superman. This was psychological and inspiring all at once. It is actually interesting to compare how Tom King's Batman deals with hopelessness vs his Superman.

All I want from my Superman stories are pure hope overcoming all obstacles, and both of these stories had that in droves. The second issue was very melancholy and hopeful simultaneously. Great stuff.

The first story was very fun and I loved it, the second story was passable and a bit confusing.

The first half is great because I always like when Superman is viewed from a normal person's perspective, and the bit about contradictions... where Flash is said to be the fastest man alive, yet Superman has still managed to beat him several times. The second story is a literal deconstruction of what makes Superman *Superman* and is really well done. It also gives off the vibe of a sci-fi anthology which makes me all the more excited to see Tom King's take on Adam Strange in Strange Adventures.

I like how Tom King challenges Superman's morals by placing him in situations where he is forced to make a decision with no winning.

Superman in absolutes, much like Year One, but done much better.

I love Dora and her vulgar punk spirit. This book is a very consistent and enjoyable run thus far.

I imagine Dora showing weakness and inner thoughts will turn a lpt of people off of the character and the book, bur as someone who deals with similar thoughts (mostly) I kind or relate to her, much like Jessica Cruz and her anxiety. The rest of the book was good as always, but I kind of wish Abel didn't kill Cain. That's just wrong

I really want to see Dora and the gang again, but I suppose these detours are what made Sandman so damn good. Another solid issue, although I really do not like this artist.

Probably my least favourite issue so far, but still quite enjoyable.

Simon Spurrier closes out a near perfect run on The Dreaming and leaves everything back in the toy box for the next writer and man, I do not envy G. Willow Wilson for following Si's lead. I am happy this run ended before giving any chance to mess up and screw over Sandman's legacy. I am a bit worrisome for the next try at it. Be smart G. Willow Wilson, and only use characters you have the confidence to do justice. When people recommend Sandman from now on, this run will be a thought if the reader wants more. (BTW loved Dora)

Pretty solid celebration of one of my favourite heroes since being a small kid. The standout story to me was Marv Wolfman. I knew he still had it in him! There was a pretty good variety and I like how each Robin had their limelight. Also dug Tom King, Tomasi, Tynion IV, Amy Wolfram, Chuck Dixon (I legit thought he was blacklisted), and Judd Winick.

So much variety and different talents in this one. Tom King's story obviously stands out and it is good to hear more from that plot line. It was a really touching story. Paul Dini, Mindy Newell, and Ed Brubaker also had some solid stories. Man, Kelley Jones' Catwoman looks horrendous, but his Clayface more than makes up for it. One thing I realized while reading this is how awful some of Catwoman's art has looked in the past, even if it now stands as classic. Even Darwyn Cooke... that has to be my least favourite Darwyn Cooke piece ever.

Brian Azzarello's Joker story was worth it alone. The meta commentary was so well done and it is some of his best work in a long time. I also dug Punchline a lot more than I expected.

I can't give this anything less than a 10. All these writers came back to perfectly represent all eras of GL, and the best GL had plenty of attention (Guy Gardner). RIP Denny O'Neil. You were a great Batman and GL/GA writer. You also brought us The Question.

The parts with Eddie are great. I don't like the sections at the back of the book, they are practically slightly modified Arkham Asylum tape rip-offs and make the characters seem very out of character in the pursuit of sounding creepy. It works when it is Zsasz, but idk about Eddie *shrug*

I thought my enthusiasm for this book waned a bit over how long ago the last issue was... nope. One of the best books out right now.

I like that it was left slightly open-ended.

Wow. This issue was a complete homerun. It is good the series wasn't all just shitting on Bruce, I was beginning to worry.

Wow. Just wow. What a fantastic conclusion to this story, I thought it would be difficult to end on a high note but this has become a classic Batman Elseworlds story. Highly recommended.

My only problem with this is that it follows a lot of similar plot beats to the first White Knight, but I can't help but feel it is a better executed version of the same plot beats.

Tom Taylor does not half-ass anything. Despite being a spin-off this was entirely worth reading because of the quality.

A good cure to dry eyes.

Grant Morrison shows he is well versed in Silver Age Green Lantern and as a fan who has been hoping for a return to that style, I am very pleased with this. Liam Sharp's art really surprised me, it perfectly fit Morrison's story.

This feels like a Green Lantern straight out of the 80s', just with an added flair of bizarre Grant Morrison. I like what the cliffhanger promises going forward. This is some of Liam Sharp's best work, only being beat by Green Lantern #1 and #7. Not counting the purposely(?) horrid designs of the evolving apedroids.

An absolute dream come true for Silver Age GL fans, who are also Grant Morrison fans. Liam Sharp also deserves props for how incredible the art he is delivering on this title is, even if there was a slight error in panel 2.

Creative and a welcome change of formula for Green Lantern. This is already a modern classic.

The art in this one was really unique, Liam Sharp colouring his own stuff radically changes the look.

And suddenly: Doom Patrol. I actually really liked this one, the visuals were really fun and this is one of the few issues I can imagine a kid picking up. My only complaint was making sense of the toy talk sometimes.

I thought this was the best issue of Season 2 so far. The Jack Kirby inspired look was kind of random, I mean until the bird people showed up.

Grant Morrison is really good at pandering to my GL Silver Age nostalgia, but even that aside the book is just good. Controller Mu is actually a pretty intimidating villain, I dig it.

Loved the Starlings dressed up for a funeral.

I have read numerous entire runs of Green Lantern and they are my favourite comics in all of comics, so I do not say this lightly... this is one of my favourite issues ever in GL history.

It seems like this is going to be the big finale and that makes me a little sad. Hopefully Grant Morrison decides to do a Season 3.

That was bizarre... I love it.

I didn't love this quite as much as previous issues, but it was still very good. Interestingly I remember a Green Lantern medieval story in Silver Age GL, but for once I don't think Grant Morrison was actually making reference to that. Also, this makes the variant I ended up with for #8 feel more relevant.

I read it a second time and got context for some of the other characters and I am now upping it to a 10.

A golden grail of a comic.

I can't believe some of the things Grant pulls from... it is extremely rewarding as a diehard GL fan who has read all these stories. I can't wait for Blackstars and the return of this book! I was starting to wonder if I still like Liam Sharp, but this issue won me over on his art once again.

Exactly what I was hoping for.

I enjoyed this ever so slightly less than the debut issue, but it seems like the beginning of something special.

The new characters are actually growing on me. I totally expected them to be death fodder.

Cool homage to golden, silver, and bronze age comics. From what I can gather it appears to be heroes dealing with a post-reboot of their universe.

This book is incredible. All of the characters are well developed and interesting and given a full issue to themselves in this volume.

Things are looking very dark for the JL in this issue. So much happened and made up for the slightly disappointing #4. The art by Capullo felt less rushed this time and his dark army was very fun to look through. If I had one small complaint that keeps it from a 10... the humour doesn't always land. Though I absolutely love Deathstroke's terrible, terrible puns.

For as messy as the middle half of this main event was, I was expecting Snyder to miss the landing, and while this final issue didn't fix everything wrong with the middle half of the event, it did deliver an epic and satisfying conclusion. This really should have been a Crisis title, but I think the name they chose gives you the impression it is a smaller event. My main complaint would be that the New Age of Heroes weren't really tied into the event at all, I was expecting them to be.

The book is right, I do just want Jimmy Olsen to be silly.

This was very well-developed, the art was very high quality. Feels like it is written with the pacing of an eventual movie. Pretty great overall.

The art and style were top-notch and I love Brian K. Vaughan from previously reading Private Eye. Really good issue. I am just wondering if you could speak Spanish and not English, if you could get an entirely different viewpoint by reading the Spanish sections? That would be brilliant since both characters end up with the same fate. I don't speak Spanish sadly so I can't confirm. (This review was 3 years late because Image offered it as their FCBD 2018.)

Quite a welcome jump in tone, from overly optimistic and hopeful to dark and moody. I read an interview from Mairghread saying she wanted to capture the darker likes of Gail Simons's Batgirl and I believe she has succeeded tremendously with both this and to a only barely lesser extent #26.

It was great seeing the Batfam all togerher and sharing their experiences with Alfred. Ric was surprisingly handled well, he stuck out like a sore thumb, but the story made good use of a shitty editorial decision.

Idk what to say... if the purpose of this book is to get me excited about all 3 of these books, well 2 succeeded and one was just a great short story. I had a discussion with a friend about Bendis' Superman story and her problem with the issue was that it doesn't explain anything, and I definitely agree with her, however Bendis gives a lot of details in interviews and I was able to piece it all together save for what happened with Lois Lane. Personally, I think Bendis did a pretty acceptable job. Tom King's story was short and sweet, and No Justice Prelude had some incredible art and visuals and did a good job introducing the teams. I hope the event itself won't be too cluttered. Totally worth the 25 cents.

You can tell Tom Taylor really loves the DC Universe with books like this and Injustice, and he works best with zero restrictions that mainstream ongoings don't usually allow.

This was a fantastic issue with so much happening all at once, my only real gripe is the ending. I feel like *spoiler* would be more effective without the ending.

Clayface has always been my favourite Batman villain ever since I was a kid, so I loved this modern retelling of his origin and hope it creates new fans. The art and environments were phenomenal.

A love letter to fans of Dragon Ball and mechs.

This was brilliant at times, I felt like I was reading a Young Animal book with how much it just wants to have fun and is trippy and self referential.

So glad this series got extended.

This book might have the best art of any book on the shelf. So many different styles and each one is executed perfectly. The story has been pretty fun too.

It is hard for me to not like this celebration of everything comics and the amazing rendering of the characters.

It was mostly fun, I think I am okay with this series ending soon though.

I have loved this series, but as far as endings go this is pretty disappointing and cliche. It does the job, but if it wasn't for the art I would probably not like this.

This was a surprise. I love whenever there is a new GL to follow and having one so isolated on their own in the middle of the farthest sector is a cool idea. I expected to not like Jo, but I was pleasantly surprised. She isn't obnoxiously full of herself, but almost cynical about her alien and inhuman surroundings. The art is fantastic and the colour options are very unique. For a Green Lantern book... it sure has a lot of teal.

It's starting to give me some Blade Runner vibes. GL meets Blade Runner? Yes please.

There are some flaws and inconsistencies, but the story is really good and man... that art is out of this world. Especially love the teal approach to the colouring.

Running out of things to say about this book really, it is just really good. I am far too lazy to care about the Krakoan alphabet though.

There is so much action and death... so why am I kind of bored? It was a nice breather not having any info dumps that I can remember.

The only thing harming the book at this point are the info dumps and how often it comes out. It makes it a bit tough to convince myself to read it, but by the time I do read it I am either satisfied or blown away.

Wildcat and Batman made this issue.

Joker was great in this one.

I legitimately do not know where this is leading to and that intrigues me.

This kind of Batman story has been told several times, and Jeff Lemire himself has written a similar story with Moon Knight. Even with that against it, it's still just a pretty solid comic book. It made his Joker series a lot more interesting by expanding it.

Loved seeing Jason Woodrue again.

More like Lords of Horror. They're scary.

This was a pretty good breather issue with some character moments.

Luckily none of the characters are feeling homogenized as often happens on these team books, even with the addition of an evil team.

Evil in the DC universe actually started when Krona tried to peer at the dawn of creation with his telescope, but that is forgivable. Dang this series is good.

Not my favourite issue, but this book is always great.

Is James Tynion IV staying on as co-writer? I expected this to go downhill, but it isn't.

Okay, I'll admit I am a little hyped right now but this is like the ultimate DC fan title, it is so cool to see these characters that would never interact with each other before on the same team and this makes the DC Universe feel even larger and is probably the most excited I have been since after reading Rebirth's one-shot. The art is also amazing.

A sequel that improves on it's predecessor in every way, and since the original was already quite solid, that is not a small feat.

Thoroughly enjoyed this start to finish. I didn't understand at first why Dadwing specifically was chosen to be the perpetrator of the events, but I think this final issue puts it into light. Dick has always been one of the more positive characters and seeing him become so cold, cynical, and untrusting (Not unlike Bruce Wayne) in his latter years really hits home how bleak this future has become. I thought the conclusion was well done and gave some good new Dad commentary... at least I assume so. I'm not a Dadwing yet.

That was a trip. Interesting concept, and very funny read.

This felt like one of those awesome Dark Knights one-shots.

This is my favourite ongoing at the moment, even if this particular issue was slightly weaker than the previous 3. There was some good imagery in this issue and a cliffhanger that is definitely intriguing.

It is an injustice how this is possibly the best DC ongoing and nobody reads it (in my friend circle).

I feel like the art in this will be hated by some people, but to those who like it, like me, it will be one of the defining qualities of the title.

Like Mister Miracle, this is a series where the artist is just as important as the writer. I would say even more so, but we all know Donny Cates is a good writer.

I have no idea how this is going to fit into canon, but I love it. The art in the scene where "The Grim Knight" enters Arkham is really good.

This was really tense and filled with a lot of Gotham lore that everyone knows Snyder loves.

The stuff with Jim and James Jr. is pretty heavy.

It ended a bit abruptly it felt like, but I really dig the tone that skirts along campy and serious, as well as Nick Derington's fantastic art.

Batman and Green Arrow is a team up I didn't know I wanted and a Batman space adventure? Man, this is the best thing DC has gotten from the Bendis contract. Nick Derington is great as always, maybe a bit rushed looking in comparison to the last batch of issues.

Love this.

Aside from some things Bendis got wrong about lanterns, I am satisfied with it. It didn't close as strong as the earlier issues in terms of quality though.

I missed this book.

Marvel has like a dozen Deadpools/Harley Quinns, DC has Harley Quinn, they all feel like they try too hard while Doom Patrol makes weird effortless.

Strangely this is probably the most straight forward Doom Patrol issue of the past 2 volumes. I liked the symbiote reference.

Weird how the cover says Gerard Way but the inside has a different writer team, but I think they did well as simple a story that it was.

Fun, and striking cliffhanger.

Wonderful madness. This was a bit less great than the previous series, but this series had so many complications. Aside from the lesser art and the smaller scale, I think it is a success. It is a miracle we even got a second one. Sacrifices had to be made for the return of MCR.

I love this character's nihilism, and I also like that I can't discern which is real or fantasy and the 4th wall breaking of Milk Wars.

In DC's mad dash to put Tim Seeley somewhere they expect him to do the least damage, (RIP my Green Lanterns) they actually found something for him that works... and *really well*. Good job, Seeley. Now please make Imaginary Friends your full-time job and drop poor Green Lanterns.

The real win is the art, it delivers some genuine creepy and realistic visuals. I am also intrigued to find out more about their place of residence.

Great horror and art, I just hope it doesn't get too heavy handed in it's message.

I love taking Martian Manhunter back to his cop roots and Riley Rossmo's art is great here.

I think this is Rossmo's best art since Constantine and the very alien and body horrorish art really propels Orlando's script.

The only thing I dislike about this book is that Mars is in it. It should have been Venus, or even better...Earth. And why is Martian Manhunter a martian? Why couldn't he be just a regular human. They did it with Joe Fixit, and everyone knows humans are so much more interesting and original than cool shape shifting aliens. (Sorry for roasting you know who)

I think this was never part of his origin in the past and I actually dig the additions made. The art is fantastic as always.

Hard to believe this is Steve Orlando.

Is this Orlando's best book ever? Maybe. (I haven't read Midnighter and Apollo)

Steve Orlando continues to leave me dumbfounded by releasing a solid story.

I think this may be some of Rossmo's best work.

Steve Orlando manned a solid series for 12 straight issues. I underestimated him.

I am not entirely sure what happened, but I like it.

This looks worth reading so far. I loved all the DC and Marvel references during one of the flashbacks. Also, the design of the main character looks so awesome when he is geared up.

Some of the writing was questionable, but can't say I didn't come out loving this and how far it goes.

Pretty much exactly what I wanted from this series, I now have an interest in checking out Joker.

I read this because I too am Coffin Bound. Too relatable. If you want Kurt Cobain in comic form. Give it a try.

I think this deserves a 10 just for stand-out it is with its' roast, even as a big fan of Tom King's Batman. The story itself was good as always too.

Darker than expected and a pretty satisfying conclusion, although it didn't feel like it was fully explored.

The artist must have loved being able to skip whole panels and backgrounds for the majority of this issue, but that aside a very solid tie-in to the excellent Metal and a treat for fans of Green Lantern (did anyone see Shark?)

This is like the best Superman comic this week, except it isn't Superman. Loved seeing the GL constructs shatter and really emphasise the strength of Zod. Kneel indeed :>

I can't help but give this a 10. I have been waiting for ages to see the Darkstars return and this did not disappoint, they even made some interesting changes to the Darkstars that open up a lot of possibilities for stories in the future.

This is the arc I have been waiting for since the series started.

Man, this is like a Green Lantern fan's heaven right now. The Darkstars have actually been made cool, they always had such huge potential and Vendetti has donr it. He clearly has respect for the pre-Johns era GL and that makes me very happy.

I hated this issue. It wasn't funny. The Bizarro speak wasn't annoying not once in a while.

The perfect ending to Tomasi's run on Superman and a real feel good issue.

Man I missed this goofy JLI-like Booster so much! He was so much more entertaining than his recent appearance in Action Comics. I was so confused by a lot of what was going on but slowly put together the big picture. My only complaint would be that I can't imagine Dick Grayson ever becoming what he was in this issue.

Joker kind of carries the whole issue and acts like a total maniac. I am okay with this.

Catwoman's Killing Joke, basically.

I loved all the different artists from Batman history and all the references to writers and others involved in past Batman runs. I avoided spoilers after all the outrage tipped me off, but I could guess there was a reason for it. Kind of what I expected, really.

Refreshing, like a cold glass of water after a night of dehydration.

Wow. Some of King's best work on Batman to date, I would put this just under Batman Annual #2. Lee Weeks' art was perfect for every scene, and the trunks are back!

A touching issue of everyone's favourite duo helping each other through tough times. Any other time I would be disappointed that Matt Wagner's art doesn't live up to the standards of the run, but for this story his style was perfect in capturing a nostalgic feel.

Fantastic. I had this spoiled for me incorrectly like 3 months in advance, the way it was executed was so much more sobering than I was expecting. I also liked the reference to his critics, I am sure that will make them happy. It was such a profoundly repetitive and pretentious moment, I must say.

Tom King is doing a great job of making KGBeast seem terrifying.

I don't know if seeing all the negative reaction lowered my expectations or not, but I thought this was awesome. I loved the gorey folktale visuals overlapping the fight between Batman and KGBeast, and his reaction at the end really shows we are seeing a Batman who is tired of the whole song and dance. Don't fuck with Batman's batfam.

Loved the tone in this one, and it is nice to see some of the ties coming together.

Okay, real talk. I really loved this. The art was incredible and stories that have James Gordon and the GCPD turning on Batman are some of my faves... there are also multiple threads being tackled all at once.

I was so confused up until the end, wow that callback. At first I thought it was going to be one of the many alternate universe Batman, maybe even the one we saw at the end of #60, but it seems we have taken a detour.

I didn't think of the rooftops connection before, I really loved the art and trippiness of this. Intrigued to find out just what the hell is going on.

This is going to be good. Love the Heroes in Crisis tie-in and also finally using Gotham Girl and the thread from Batman #50.

There may have been like no dialogue or progression, but that doesn't make it bad, story telling can be done visually and what a beautiful issue this is.

It was a fun issue, very much akin to the Super Friends arc. It will be nice to be over with the Knightmares though.

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS There were a lot of hints throughout the nightmares that Batman and Catwoman's love was false and this reveal has once again thrown this run over on it's head. Although it makes me slightly uncomfortable to see Batman tearing up because he realized he was in denial about false love, it is still a very human and relatable thing and makes it a pretty heavy plot point.

It was really satisfying to see Batman go on a one-man army run through Arkham after all the depressing stories lately. Y'know, even if it was all a bunch of villains taking the fall.... Fall and Fallen. I get it.

I feel like I just read Moon Knight...

We learned so little to anyone who was actually paying attention. I actually have more questions... but the writing was on point and this issue is so quotable.

A twisted father/son camping trip. It doesn't stand much ground on it's own as it is very light in story length, but as part of the arc it is very atmospheric and the reveal at the end was pretty crazy. I love that Thomas Wayne used his skills as a surgeon and also that he can't stop singing while being with his unconcious son. The art is some of Janin's best to date. Absolutely gorgeous issue.

"...I'm still here" Damn, that last line gave me chills. So we see the often criticized use of a folktale from an earlier issue used as double allegory for the events of the run, and more parallels to Bane, with the climbing out of the pit. There is something really satisfying about Batman breaking out of his funk of the past like 20 issues and denying that Bane or Thomas Wayne managed to break him. Is this the start of the redemption act? It is also interesting how rooftops were where Bruce feels most at home, but almost everything terrible that has happened to him was atop a rooftop, and now while deep inside a pit, basically the furthest thing possible from a rooftop... he finds his motivation and strength to fight back. This run better have a happy ending where Batman returns to the rooftops with Catwoman. The art was really nice again, especially Thomas' bright crimson symbol while descending into the pit.

This was amazing. I didn't expect the City of Bane to literally be a working city ruled by Bane. It was simultaneously striking, alien, and hilarious to see all the villains doing what they do in this issue. Also the way y'know who shows up again? Perfect.

When I heard of Captain Atom showing up, I had predicted the government wanted to wipe Gotham off the map or maybe that Psycho Pirate controlled him and Bane was using him as a deterrent. I totally forgot somehow Gotham Girl is already a deterrent... This was pretty great. I am in love with this idea of Gotham being run by villains and it continues to deliver.

Well, I didn't expect that... one of my favourite characters :[ City of Bane raises the stakes a lot with each issue.

That was a beautiful issue and actually really captures the loneliness, and dodging, of a relationship with hurt on both sides.

Even better than the last issue. I am sorry everyone who hates this run, this might be my new favourite run. I love the Batman and Catwoman relationship too much.

This felt very light on story, but even though it was over too quickly... I dug it. I am a fan of John Romita Jr sometimes and I would have never put him on a Batman book, but his art here is at least well inked and coloured which makes for a very interesting look, but not up to the high standards of artists this book has had.

Sweet jesus. I know people are expecting the climax soon, but how is this issue just a recap? It gave us mostly information we didn't previously know and could only speculate on. It is definitely convoluted as heck, but bitch... this ain't my first Metal Gear Solid 2.

Short but action packed. It is quickly becoming evident it will be impossible to tie all loose ends in 3 issues, maybe DC should have let him finish his run.

Heavy issue. I can't lie Alfred's message hit me in the feels. When he says he made a vow like Batman did, only to see Bruce smile again... and how he saw that for a brief moment before it was taken away. By the end I really wanted Batman to kick his father's ass so hard. I got some Solid vs Liquid Snake vibes from this upcoming showdown and I am all in.

Thankfully this issue happened. I was so used to detractors complaining about not knowing what happened to Thomas Wayne for *ages*. I knew from the start it would be explained. So I would reply "It's a mystery. Keep waiting. That's what mysteries are... a mystery." Of course now that it is revealed they will continue to say things like "Tom King never had anything planned, he just made it up on the spot". It used to be "Tom King forgot". As for the actual issue itself, umm it sure isn't the kind of penultimate issue you would expect. The way it is delivered is a bit of a clusterfuck, likely due to the premature ending. It seems the flashback is being told in reverse from Thomas Wayne's perspective. I would have to reread it to confirm that observation. It doesn't really give much new information that observant readers couldn't already piece together, but it does explain how Thomas Wayne is still around. I also haven't read the Flashpoint Batman stuff from the past, so I can't say how much of his past is new material here, but I do like that he took Selina under his wing and they had a kind of father/daughter relationship. That establishes a connection between the two immediately, and with one issue left it is information that is sorely needed. Looking forward to the... wedding? Showdown? As well as Tynion IV's Batman, which I previously thought I wouldn't be.

I agree in many ways with Linkush, this isn't a real ending and I was flipflopping on if I was completely satisfied with it. Hopefully it will be all wrapped up completely in Batman/Catwoman (especially since Gotham Girl is supposed to marry Duke by the end of his run, and that doesn't happen here). However as a celebration of this run I couldn't be more happy. Allegories out the wazoo with the football game (in Porky's!)referencing Batman's struggle, a sort of cheeky message to readers saying those who have lost will understand, and Batman and Catwoman having that realization they don't need a traditional marriage... because since when did they decide that law rules what they do? Yeah, pretty much as good an ending I could hope for with 20 or some issues being cut. The one area I did feel let down with was the showdown with Thomas. There was practically no action packed showdown at all, but really that was never what this run was about anyway, so I will forgive it. Oh, and looking forward to Tynion IV's run.

Not digging it as much as I was Tom King's run, but it is alright. Is it just me or does it seem like Tynion IV is going for another big masterplan immediately after City of Bane? It almost feels like he is telling the same story we just heard, but minus the stylistic writing or depth that came with it. Overall it is an enjoyable but completely disposable Batman so far.

A hundred times yes. DC has squandered their JL book for too long since Rebirth began (Priest was better, but not perfect) it is so great to see a good Justice League book again, and the best way to start it was definitely with a new Legion of Doom.

Lex traveling 1 million years into the future to see himself celebrated felt very silver age, it was almost too goofy, but I love it. It is really fun to see Lex back to his evil ways.

Full of action and feels like an adventure. Love it.

I like seeing these characters get the spotlight, and I ship Kendra and J'onn, even though it should be John

Again, just digging a story with these 3 members.

This was a really DC Crisis lore heavy issue and to have it in a normal issue of JL is kind of unexpected. Tynion IV does a good job making it all work and the comic felt very meaty. You definitely get your moneys worth.

Forget Batman Damned, this is where you will see real Batdick.

I loved the old Legion of Doom and their emotional exchange with the younger heroes, especially Grodd and Flash. The art as always is way too good for a biweekly series.

Better than anticipated.

This is my review for the entire arc. So one thing immediately clear to me is that there are certain things Vendetti does better than Snyder with the JL and that is their personal relationships. Snyder wrote Batman and Superman's relationship fantastically, but kind of didn't touch on the rest of them as a web of friends. This is kind of what Snyder's time on JL was missing since it was more of an epic, so I like it for that.

This is my review of the entire arc. So this is a weird one... it isn't really a good story, or that well executed, but I can already tell it will be a very memorable one for how much of a thinking man's comic it is. It asks the question of many differing viewpoints and what the best course of action is. Immediately it is clear who Simon Spurrier's favourite Justice Leaguer is, as it is quite clear Simon Spurrier at least suggests to us all along that WW might be the one with the right opinion, but many of what happens kind of undermines her own points. If the point of WW's ideals are to not interfere when the citizens are about to kill one another, why is she okay saving them from others? Aren't both instances interfering with the natural course of their civilization?

This could have been so much better had it had a segment for each JL member, instead it retreads on old ground and doesn't say anything new about Batman.

This book continues to be one of the best looking art wise, and the character work is surprisingly engaging for someone entirely new to the DC Universe.

I am slightly disappointed. I was so convinced she was a new Lantern since the insignia looked like part of the emotional spectrum, with that said it is still gorgeous and a very interesting way to introduce a new character.

I liked this about as much as House of X.

It might be because I read this in two sittings, but this one didn't grip me quite the same.

The only thing keeping me from giving this a 10 is the thought that it was 12 issues of forming a nation and we knew it was being formed from issue 1, so story wise it may have told very little while being quite dense. Obviously I still love it, it was written well, but it deserves that criticism as who knows how it will hold up or even if it will be necessary reading material after X-men is finished.

The art was a bit Gross at times, but overall I am intrigued and look forward to where this goes.

This series has been the most developed of the bunch. This feels pure old Vertigo.

This was the standout issue of the week for me. A book that knows how to have fun with it's honestly incredibly lame character leads.

This is one of the best books coming out of comix right now. Disagree? Too bad.

This has political beliefs I believe are a bit outdated (at least I assume so with the father not being hired for his skin colour, but I am also not American) and ones that feel pretty forward-thinking, but overall the message at the end is one I agree with. I also liked the roasting of Fox News with the straw man and Punditron 5000.

Possibly the best message in modern comics.

Simple but good. The art really stole the show. Not that it is difficult, but this may be one of the best Katana stories in quite a while, even though it did nothing particularly new.

Batman The Animated Series might just be my favourite run of any media of entertainment, and during the show part of what made it great imo is how grounded it was. Almost every villain in the show had a reasonable explanation to explain everything that is going on with them and why they become who they are. Psychology, science, whatever. The only really extraordinary or unbelievable concepts were like Supergirl and Etrigan, which seemed pretty alien to the rest of the series(but still were very welcome). That was like 2 episodes. There were a lot of unexplored characters and concepts that Batman is a lot more known for in the comic books, especially how he fits into the greater DC Universe. I am all for exploring that. I am so happy they got Paul Dini and Alan Burnett on board so this is the real deal.

I love it. As someone who deals with sleep paralysis hallucinations and people looking at me like I am crazy when I explain them, I also kind of relate.

I think this is a lot of fun, but there is also a black hole sized feeling that it is a bit empty in places.

The right kind of weird I have come to expect from Young Animal.

Incredible. I haven't heard this origin before, so I assume this was a reinvention of how he becomes reincarnated and why and I think it is a pretty interesting way.

Vendetti continues to do this justice.

Does anyone else get the sense this arc (with the origin at the start) feels like a movie pitch? It even technically has an end-credits scene. I loved it, even if I was expecting the deathbringers to be end-run material.

I think this series is great and underrated, but the art in this issue was unacceptable...

The art was really bad, but Bryan Hitch has said the book couldn't afford him with the numbers it was pulling in and we should be thankful that DC took a loss to keep this book going. Anyway, with that aside, the story itself was really good and I am indeed thankful to still have Hawkman around.

The only shame is this deserves better art, but at least it is improving in that area.

This was like the best you could hope for from one of these anthologies. The Kilowog story especially was sad. Poor Kilowog.

I just picked this up completely randomly and ended up being way into it.

Perfectly captures the look and the personality of the characters, and as a big fan of the source material, I absolutely adore this. My only worry is that it overuses concepts from old episodes too much. There were about 4 things from classic episodes in this one title and I hope it doesn't take away from this feeling like new episodes on paper.

Rocko fans are lucky to have a comic this solid.

Confused by the laws of this world and how or why, but it was still a fun read with enough to intrigue me. The main character is likable and the art is really good.

Filled to the brim with ambition. Hope it keeps it up.
