This is weird... First of all, the story doesn't have any real beginning and you simply don't care about it, because it's some parallel universe you know heck about. And the comic is very short. Basically, the idea of the story is very simple and mediocre on its own, but the art is quite ugly too. Don't get me wrong, In-Hyuk Lee is a great cover artist, but in this full comic his art looks too digital and not serious enough. Some individual pics were spectacular, but it just doesn't work altogether. I have mixed feelings... It's not really awful, but I can't say it's great as well. I guess, if you skip the comic - you won't lose anything at all. This is definitely undeveloped.

I'm not a fan of such random out of context "future" comics, but it quickly got a bit interesting. More interesting, than Spider-Man's shot. There's much more story and the art is okay. However, there's still not enough exposition for me to really care.

I didn't really like the ideas in this and the art is kinda not my cup of tea too. It's pretty detailed, but too frivolous and the coloring is acid as hell.

Maybe it's really just not for me

I don't think it really worths anyone's attention. It's pretty mediocre and the idea they tried to play with could get a much much much better realization. If there were good stories, for example. For starters.

Hm... That's not something you would expect from Marvel... I decided to read it because it looked to me like it had vibe of those Mary Jane comics and it actually really is a simple story with a "manga"-like art. I'm not a fan of sport stories, but it's not boring here at least. And it already played with my expectations through the comic and I didn't predict the twists, so it's cool, I'm looking forward to see where it ends.

I love the conclusion. The story is still too typically naive overall, but I love that it has some unexpected things and it's not about the main protagonist always winning no matter what. It feels a bit more realistic, than some other similar stories. So yeah, it's not the best thing I saw in my life, but it's better, than I expected it to be. The art is also really dynamic, I don't know how the guy made tennis look interesting in a comic book. I guess everything can be interesting in a good arms. Man, I now want to read some marvel mangaverse. Never tried anything of this, but maybe it isn't really bad.

It's only a first issue, but it's already very good. The art is awesome, this pencil style is fitting for the tone of this story. Gaiman is awesome. He introduces all characters through the story and it's entertaining af... This 1602 world is so cool... It's so grounded, but there are still mutants and magicians and gods and everything else what could fit here. There's no scientific crap and etc. I really love how this world works and it's pretty balanced. It's still a Marvel story, but just a little bit less fantastic and superheroic. There was not much action, but this issue is almost overflown by different events and characters. And I can't say, that something was bad. It's just a bit boring in some parts and there are also things, that you will understand only later. But it's not the basis of this story, so it's really enjoyable even when you read it for the first time! I remember how this book infatuated me when I read it for the first time. And I thought this story would be boring or stupid lol. No, it's almost a masterpiece and this first issue is only the beginning.

Well! It's kinda too fantastic for a 1602 story, imo... And the final Hulk appearance is just stupid. Peter was finally bitten - cool. But I still have some questions just like the characters of this story. And even if I didn't understand everything - it's still one of my favourite comic books which I just can't stop to reread every now and then. Not the best ending, but it's still awesome as a one book.

I wish I could rate it as 10. It is a comic of all comics. It's almost a masterpiece. But I just can't ignore some holes and weird decisions. It's a finished story even if there's a set-up for future books. I think Gaiman just made a great work on this one. He just kinda... Overthought it. It is really a little bit too complicated. And not every one of these complications was justified. And I won't stop saying that it's an awesome book and you definitely must read it. Just forget about the sequels and read this one book entirely. Also, it really feels much better as a physical book, not digital. Read this story in one sitting and try to give it a time, don't hurry to read it as fast as you can. Just sit, relax, take this book and read it. And I'm sure you'll be entertained for almost a 90% of the time you spend on this.

It's not what you may want from the F4 comic, but I think it's okay. That's only the beginning, but the set-up for this story is already good. But the art is arguable... It's okay as well, but it's kinda creepy. P.S. Digital release of this comic has an awful mistake... There's no Reed's bubbles on the last page lol... That's so stupid! I have a TPB edition on my bookshelf, so I could read it properly, but I must warn you that if you think that the last page is weird - it's okay in the original release. Find a scan online if your country's laws don't forbid that. P.P.S And why the hell they are FANTASTICK if they were the four from FANTASTIK? Not even FANTASTIC, lol...

It's a messy conclusion for the story, but the comic is okay.

It's the best non-Gaiman 1602 limited series so far... The art could be better, but the story is very interesting. There are many amusing moments, but I think this story is too short. The conclusion could be much better, just as well as the beginning.

Well... It's more like a Jurassic Park now, not a Marvel 1602... Yeah, this thing with dinosaurs was Gaiman's fault, but he didn't use it like here... And I don't think he planned to... This comic reads as fast as the first 10 pages of Neil's Marvel 1602. And you get almost nothing from that. I mean... Gaiman had so many characters and storylines and he used them almost flawlessly. But there we have only Hulk and Peter, who is on his way of becoming the Spider-Man. And yeah, Virginia, of course, who will definitely be a love interest for Peter and stay in his shadow. I dunno, this book is definitely the development of the last page of Gaiman's 8th issue of Marvel 1602... I can't say if he could continue this story better. And if he didn't - then he couldn't. Greg Pak is a good writer, he's just not Gaiman. And yeah, he is a famous Hulk writer, so it's understandable why he was the one to write this comic. But... Gaiman's Banner was so boring and empty character... He didn't actually use him much. David Banner of 1602 can be described only as a King's man. Nothing more. And you can think that this story will make him more interesting if he's the main character (one of them, I mean). But that's not how it is. He's still the same zero of the character. I think haven't got problems with the Hulk in 1602 after the Thing. He's just boring. Yeah, the narrative is really weak. Almost nothing happens. There's so many pictures with dinosaurs without any text and any point... It's not even an entertaining action. What about Peter... He's okay. And I'm fine with this Jonah as well. He shouldn't be changed. But it's still not enough for me after the story of Neil. The art is worse too. I mean... The artist is good, action scenes are really fascinating. It's just the faces what is wrong here. And... I think Andy Kubert's art was much more fitting with the tone of this story's time. You can disagree with me, but I just think that the second volume of 1602 is weak. But it's only the beginning, so maybe it will be better later.

Kinda stupid and forced. This story is so dumb and naive + art makes it worse. Sometimes it's too hard to understand what's happening. But I can't call it's bad. It's just so-so. Not my type of comics at all.

Um... I wrote the problems of this book in the review of the first issue. To summarize, I want to say, that it's definitely not enough after what Gaiman done... This book is very short, there's almost no new characters and only a few of the old ones, it's not that interesting and entertaining, the art is jumping from sufficient to one of the worst ones... I really see many problems of this comic. I don't believe Spider-Man's limited series will be much better, but I'll still read it, because why not? I already had a run through the whole Noir universe, so now it's time for me to close 1602. And it's not that much to read here.

It's too weird and really not that 1602 as it could be, but it is a Secret Wars to blame for this (and to blame for the return of the long forgotten 1602 lol). However, the art is cool. It changes to worse and too simple styles every now and then, but the main art is awesome. P.S. not a fan of such a pointless reprints... One issue of Gaiman's 1602 is not enough, really. A solid start. Miller is a good writer and an artist as well! I was kinda surprised, especially when I saw that I read a Wolverine limited series with his art. Well, Snyder's movie was 10/10 for me. And what about this comic... It's 100% splash pages, so it reads much quicker, than it should. Yet it feels very epic and the art is quite cool, except for some frames where it's hard to say what's happening. Nice beginning, but I think the best is yet to come.

A solid finale

It's not really a masterpiece, but a great comic you must read. Actually, I think the movie was better, but this book is still great.

The conclusion is a bit weird and too sudden, plus the art is kinda dirty sometimes, but this comic was cool, I enjoyed it. I'm even interested in reading the whole event now, so that says something.

This title reprinted monster stories from all these old Marvel series: Tales to Astonish, Strange Tales, Journey Into Mystery, Tales of Suspense and some others. Then in issue #9 it gives 1 new story and 2 reprinted ones. But since issue 10 there are Man-Thing and Morbius - that's where you should start reading this and if you wanted to read these monster stories from the first 8 issues - better read the original series.

I finally decided to read this small 7-page original story in this comic, that was placed between two reprints. Well, it was not a bad one at all! To my surprise, the artstyle was really cool for that time and the story might be a bit simple, but still fine. Hm, maybe it would make sense to read more of these old Marvel comic series before they were taken over by superheroes. I remember loving non-Spider-Man stories from the Amazing Fantasy #15. Also I will definitely one day return to this Fear series to read Man-Thing and Morbius stories.

Not a bad Man-Thing story here, but short. It's cool to see silent frames and even pages in some old classic comic. Not got used to it. Additional story about some ghost pirates is funny, I guess, but too weird for my taste. There's also one reprinted story from Tales of Suspense #17 and I'll better read it in the original comic later.

This Man-Thing story was cool. He fought Thog (for the first time yet) and met some kids, who were kinda even important for the Marvel universe later. That Jennifer was even in Marvel Zombies 4... The more you know... I also love the art in this story. This issue also has some short reprint from Marvel Tales #105 and I like to see, that Man-Thing's stories become longer.

Wow, that was a great story. I didn't expect to see early Jim Starlin here. He was amazing! And the story is interesting, maybe even the best of Man-Thing so far. I love the choices he makes and it's cool to see other people interacting him. This character really works best of all when there are some other people around him. I also can't not like his sense of justice. The issue also has a reprint from some very old Marvel comic Menace #8.

Honestly, I didn't expect first Man-Thing comics to be that great. I love these Doc Strange-like elements in his stories and this one was particularily cool, because now some supporting cast seems to be staying in the comic for long, plus I loved to see Man-Thing becoming Ted Sallis once again after he was transformed into monster. It's great, because you can see him accepting his fate as the monster and he really isn't a bad person at all. The problem with Man-Thing is that unlike Bruce Banner, he can't become a man again. And if, for example, the Abomination could at least retain his mind in a monster form and talk - Man-Thing can't. So after his origin, you see less and less of a man in Man-Thing. But stories like this help to remind about his other side and give him more character development. Also this issue reprints a story from Strange Tales #93.

I don't really love such stories with some mysterious coliseums and gladiators. Reminds me of the Tyrannus in Hulk. What's even funnier - Hulk will fight Mongu a few years later. But either way, Man-Thing's charisma carries the story. And I like to see more Jennifer. Interesting where it will lead. There's also a reprint from Mystery Tales #14.

Finally, a full-length Man-Thing stories without any supporting reprints. But this story was too weird and boring for my taste. It's not really bad, just not what I want from Man-Thing comics.

Epic enough. I love how Man-Thing comics may be interesting without him even talking. Also the movie took some characters and ideas from here. Hm... Maybe I need to rewatch it. It was almost 10 years since I saw it.

At first I was really insulted by this boldly stolen Superman's origin, but honestly, the story is really good. I can even kinda feel this as some Superman "What If" comic. What if Superman wasn't raised and brought up by some good people? What if he grew in his rocket and then came to the world with an intention to explore and embrace it, but everything and everyone was aggressive and rude to him? What could he become then? The cover is really decieving. Wundarr didn't say any words here and it was not some another typical action-packed issue with some generic super guy. I loved how Gerber didn't hurry anywhere and showed us Wundarr slowly exploring the world, making his own conclusions. Man-Thing was almost unnecessary here, but still a good addition. The first pages of Man-Thing exploring the cosmic rocket were surprisingly interesting too. It's written really well. Maybe this Wundarr character isn't that boring. I saw him as Aquarian in Marvel Zombies 3 and didn't think he could be any interesting.

It's very good! I loved the interaction between the characters here. They are all different and it was used wisely. Interesting story.

This is super boring and random... Key characters die just for fun, 1-page recaps of previous issues are still here (even though the actual original story here is quite short as is) and I finally have a confirmation that the editors didn't even read this shit before publishing it... I doubt that the phrase about Tara the Child and Tara the Woman was meant to be repeated on the page 7... Man, I already kinda regret I even gave this book a chance...

Not the worst thing I saw, but it's rather bad. However, I'm glad this arc is finally over. It's over, isn't it? Let it be over, please... It's so chaotic... Why the story needed Morbius' girlfriend? Where did she go here? She just disappeared. And how could she just carry Morbius so casually? 77 kilograms... I doubt I could do it as sweatless as she did. What was even the point of this story arc? Like, at all. Everyone died... There were so many weird and unnecessary scenes and characters that didn't lead anywhere...

That's more like it. Finally a good Morbius story. Pretty interesting and grounded enough to not become a weird shit. I hope the arc will stay this good. But the clothing of Martine is weird... For some reason she wears a witch-like clothes, or something... And it's different on the cover also. Feels like something was skipped and I've read the Giant-Size Werewolf #4...

Oh my god, this artist is so lazy unprofessional ass... His art is weak, but he's still copying his own pictures on almost every page. Up to 6 times! I understand when Gab Del Otto does this, because his art is a masterpiece and for him it was always really hard to meet the deadline. But this artist is simply one lazy guy... I'm tired of this already! It doesn't help the storytelling at all and makes everything feel so... static? So dead... So lifeless... And I just say nothing about the white space on most of the pages. In one of the previous issues there was almost 33% of space of the page without at least anything... The story wasn't that interesting too, but it's only the beginning, so I forgive it for now.

9 copypasted frames on the one landscape page... 9... Not just 3 or 6 as before. Nine! Heck, I can't stand this. At least this issue had some of the greatest Mark Bagley art... Guys, don't think that I'm a snob or something. It's okay to copy background, because it, well, doesn't move. But people... They are so alive and moving, even when they are not. And the story of this issue was good. Not the best, but much more interesting.

Actually the first really good issue. Only two scenes and all about relationship thing, but it's entertaining and funny. Plus this Doc Ock/Spidey/Johnny scene was so sudden and pointless, that I really liked it. Because... you know... When you read Spider-Man comics, you definitely doesn't think that somewhere near the action two other heroes could be on a date. It makes you think how weird and intertwined marvel world is.

When I bought this comic back in 2014, I felt it was mid. Now it feels much better and the art is rather stylish, than annoying. Ghost Rider looks funny instead of scary, but so far the story is OK. Not a bad opening, even though there's not much here. And turns out there were so many different Ghost Riders, so I think I can bear with another one. Even though we all know the purpose of these All-New All-Different 2014 characters.

I absolutely forgot there was Hyde. Man, the comic is 10 years old already... Like, literally. And yet Robbie is barely in the comics these days and his second volume was cancelled very early... But so far the comic is surprisingly good. And my only problem with this artwork now are faces.

Very dynamic and stylish... Did you notice that page layered in a SIMS isometric perspective? Man, these experiments in comics may be weird and bad, but it at least feels unique. I think it's a rather good thing.

Insane shit

Um... I never got past the first arc, but I didn't expect a sudden artsyle change already... To the worst. And looks like the second arc will be about the same villain... That's the same thing Marvel did with Kamala, actually. I don't know, I miss old comics in terms of variety of different villains, when a single issue could already tell you a big and complete story. But okay, Hyde-outed animals might be a good idea.

The art is digital in a bad sense and the story doesn't go in a direction I'd like t see. I mean, the author kinda tries, there's even Blaze now, but... Nah.

Um.. Like... What the fuck?

Well, I was here only for Kamala. Her story was okay, at least as a teaser. I wouldn't like it if that was the first time I met her. Surfer's part was fine too. Other than that it's very meh... There are 6 different disconnected stories just to tease some new future Marvel Now series. Shouldn't it... I don't know... Make me get interested in them? It worked for Surfer, I will definitely read that series one day. But Kree part was BORING as hell. Avengers were pretty boring and not cool too. Black Widow's part was cool visually, but as a story I can't say it's something really great. Oh, I also didn't get why they decided it's a great idea to make Loki's story to be interrupted by other stories. Okay, his quest obviously took some time, but I would prefer to read it as one solid story. Overall that's exactly what you should wait from all these potpourri comics - some things might be okay, but that's pretty much it.

Boring comic. The story is about nothing, basically. And it didn't even have good action... The art was fine at least. I believe it will get better in the next issues.

The new artist is even worse, than previous, but for some reason I like this new style more. I really don't know why, but it is what it is... And the story is still a raving crap. I really lost my hope to get something decent in this series.

This is a freaking mess... New dumb one-issue villains and stupid dramas you don't believe... And the appearance of the Ultimate FF only made it worse. Like why they are here exactly? And that's their only appearance not in their own limited series. The art is bad and storytelling is even worse. What was the point of the first page? Introduce new villains? But the writer could make it when they actually appear in the story. It had like no sense at all.

Reintroducing all characters in every one of these 12 issues is something beyond good and evil... That was really boring and random. Why the hell did they disband in the first place?

God, it's... complicated. Honestly, I laughed as crazy after seeing this Chuck Dixon afterword in the end of the book... I mean, the guys are so obsessed with being the hammer to crash THE BIG TWO, so they just keep missing the point of what makes a good comic book... Like at all! I mean, who the fuck in the world thinks that there's only Big Two and their comics are something people love no matter what? That's just bullshit. Marvel has tons of awesome comics. Take Immortal Hulk, for example. It not only has the outstanding art of Joe Bennett (who is surprisingly the artist of this Alphacore book, which I hyped at first), but the story is also really great. Here we have a fine art, but no real story to be involved in. After Immortal Hulk this book feels like a setback for Joe, it just doesn't give him an opportunity to really show his talent. There's a lot of normal people and their faces, which is not the strongest part of Bennett's art. A few monsters were great, though. But okay, let's talk not about that Big Two, but about Image Comics, for example. I mean, I just finished the Invincible not long ago. If there was such a thing as "Marvel/DC hegemony" - it would never be one of the greatest superhero comics of all time. Not even superhero, just comics. And it's not only mine opinion. What makes it so damn great? What, fucking, makes it so damn great, I'm asking you? STORY!!!!! S-T-O-R-Y! And... you won't believe it... get ready... C-H-A-R-A-C-T-E-R-S! You just open the first issue of Invincible where literally almost nothing happens at all, BUT YOU GET INVOLVED! You just CAN'T STOP READING IT, because it's so damn great. You begin to love all the characters, you remember their real names, their aliases. Their costumes are unique and iconic. You cry when they die, you're happy when they're happy, you just live their lives with them, through them. And what about Alphacore? Do you remember any of the character names after reading a big TPB book? Are you thrilled to see the next book? I'm happy for you if you do. I don't. Why don't Eric talk about Image Comcis? The Savage Dragon? Spawn? It's not big two, Image was literally formed by Marvel outcasts and it succeeded like hell! Out of nothing! Why Rippaverse can't? Okay, as always Eric talks about nnnnnumberrrrrs! And yeah, he made a lot of money already, but not from comic fans, only from his YouTube audience who don't even read comics... And mostly because the books cost too much. If you judge by the number of covers sold - it's really far from a success. Of course it's a success for him, because he made some product and found some people to sell it to them. But generally speaking it's not a success. Success is when random people love your books and your characters. When big studios buy licenses to make live-action and animated movies about your characters. If it was the case - yeah, then "the libs" would be owned. Back to the book. What are the heroes here? What characteristics they have? There's literally not a single thought of these characters was given to us besides dialogues. The comic is full of dialogues and that's it. No exposition, no info about any characters. We have a typical Superman rip-off, who is an army man. That's all we know about him! He's strong, he can fly, almost invincible. Just like I said - Superman rip-off. There were a lot of them already. I'm not a fan of such characters. Even Marvel has their boring Hyperion, but on the other hand there's Sentry, which at least looks somehow memorable and has personality. Okay, next. There's some woman. She can... Um... I honestly didn't even remember what was her power... She can't fly and she doesn't like to be treated as some super-freak. She wants to be viewed as a cop. That's it. No more character information. No personality. She developed some connection with one side character, though, but it didn't look much important to me. Not really believable. But that's not it yet! We also have some strong black guy. Again, yeah. Strong black dudes just always work no matter what. Who is he? He can't even speak! He had not a single fucking line of dialogue in the comic! Man, shit, what the fuck? Doesn't he think? Couldn't Chuck give us at least some insight at what this guy thinks about? What he loves? Why he does what he does? How he got his powers? No info. Nothing. Zero! Fucking emptiness. He's just strong and that's it. I just can't forget the issue of Invincible, where he fought Thragg on the sun and they just couldn't speak, so the whole issue could be silent. But! We got one of the best Mark's speeches in all of the series! It was sooooo damn great I almost shed a tear... Okay, what about the villains here? We have some electric dude, which can practically melt everything with his electricity. He's insane and... that's it, again. We also have some lava Ben Grimm. God, he even has 4 damn fingers, just like Marvel's The Thing! This is insane... Eric July is so fucking envious of Marvel, that he just can't stop ripping off their iconic characters... But HIS characters miss FUCKING PERSONALITY! They miss everything. We know, that he lives with his granny and he's kinda dumb. That's it. That's FUCKING it! Yeah, I know Eric told he loved Marvel/DC before they went woke. But he could at least take inspiration in the personalities of Marvel characters, not their looks. God, it's insane. I really can't believe they think it's good... They must think it is, if they keep doing it... I don't know, maybe Eric just laughs at his audience and keeps seeling them this crap over and over again... He just exploits people who believe that corporate comics are bad by definition. People, that never saw a good comic book. People, that keep watching YouTube videos about how woke and bad Marvel and DC. Yeah, that's true to some merit. But every woke Marvel comic is just a product of its time, just like those comics from 40's, where everything was about WW2 and those comics from 60's, where everyone was fighting communists and crap. It's just fucking temporary. It'll stop one day, but Marvel/DC still have tons of immortal stories that are objectively good and will always be in the hearts of fans all around the world. Will these Rippaverse books be in the hearts of anyone at all, besides their creators and those who bought into them being a breath of fresh air? It's a fresh air only for those who never knew that breathing was a thing... But anyway, the comic is better, than ISOM #1 at least because there's a somehow finished detective story (to some merit, again), no teasers of other series that don't make sense for the story, no pointless splash-pages just to waste some space. It has okay action, the art is fine, but the story is just an excuse for this comic to exist, not something to be considered really good... It feels like Eric got his hands on Bennett and was like "oh, okay... the dude's great. Just let him draw anything and everyone will love it, because it'll look cool". But that's honestly not how it works. I think our planet will explode the day there'll finally be a great Rippaverse story... For now it just keeps to be a rip-off both in terms of ideas and money. If only some actually good ideas were ripped-off... I give it 6.5 only because I didn't spend a dime on it, Joe Bennett was fine and it wasn't at least boring. I just can't rate it any higher - it doesn't deserve it. And for a price of this book it reads too fast. I'm known for giving some things a bit higher rating, than they deserve, but only because I know that it could be sooooo much worse. Much much worse. It's nothing for a book to be proud of, though.

Well, I read that Spiderman story around three times in my life and I didn't know, that there also were 3 other stories from Stan and Steve... Non-superheroic stories. To be honest, this Spider-Man origin feels very rushed (only 12 pages), especially if you read Ultimate Spider-Man or saw movies about this hero. But the core elements of the story are excellent. It was really great, especially if you compare it to the other 3 stories. I think, I can rate it 9.0. Not a flawless story, but still awesome. The second one is about an old bell-ringer. A volcano erupted and when all people of the island were fleeing away, that old guy stayed and was... abducted by the aliens? Or the God? Or was it just the interpretation of death? I don't know, it seems very rushy and poorly developed. Yeah, I saw the last day of pompeii reference, but I still don't know... I can rate it only 6.5. Next one was even more weird... The guy was running from the policeman and hid in the museum. And then THE MUMMY just started talking with him. Okay, it is Marvel, it's okay. But then mummy hid him inside of its case and the guy just disappeared. And you know where? In the Egypt! And the Egyptians made a slave of him... Okay, 7.5, this one is at least hilarious and not only stupid. And the last story was about martians. I don't know, it is a very short, but still boring story. However, the ending was... unexpected. It really even can amaze someone... Firstly I thought that it was a drawer's mistake or maybe some "expression" thing that is common in the comics. But no. And I don't want to spoil it. 7.0 Okay, to conclude, Steve Ditko is a legend. I can't say something wrong here about his art. It was great in all stories. But Stan... Okay, I can forgive that for the creation of one of my favourite superheroes of all time. (9 + 6.5 + 7.5 + 7.0) / 4 = 7.5. But I will rate it 8.0 + 0.5 for the iconicness.

Let's celebrate Spidey's 60th birthday and read this sudden AF #1000... Why is it 1000 in the first place? I honestly don't understand the logic. But who cares... So, about stories: 1st story - Falcone/Cho - 8.5. It's really short, but nice. It has a message and the art is cool. Might be better, but it's an awesome opening for such a book. 2nd story - Slott/Cheung - 10. Totally deserved 10. That's a brilliant story with a brilliant art. It's just something you wait from the comic like this. And it's not a typical story, it has a few unexpected moves. I'm really impressed. 3rd story - Lannucci/Stegman - 6. That was a rather boring story especially after the tone was set by the previous two... The art isn't that good as well. Not bad, of course, but still... Plus this new villain is mediocre. 4th story - Rowell/Coipel - 7.5. Very short story and it's not like it's an outstanding thing. Just a cute story. However, even if I like Coipel, his art here was not that good... He can draw better. 5th story - Anderson/Camuncoli - 5.5. The art is weird and the story is messed up as hell. There's almost no sense at all. Yeah, it's cool when Spidey saves somebody - it's just could be made much better. 6th story - Busiek/Dodsons - 6.5. That was a meh story. I love Dodsons, but they are much worse here, than in Marvel Knights... Busiek wrote a weird story, however it was a direct sequel to one of the stories of the Amazing Fantasy 15 and oh god thanks that I read it, because if not - I would get almost no satisfaction from this story. So, 6.5 is fine here, I think. This weird glider-woman is a dumb idea, but I love the connection and seeing story being completed after 60 years - is a great feeling. 7th story - Hickman/Checchetto - 8. Pretty solid story with a nice art. The message is cool, but I personally think it could be better. 8th story - Gaiman/McNiven - 9. It's more like a facetious Gaiman's autobiographic story and it's just awesome. I really wish ALL stories here were more like this one - not some random crap, but something that gives us a real feeling of long Spidey's history and his importance for the people. However, McNiven's art really reminds me of Kaare Andrew's art here. I wish he had better inker and colorist in this story... 9th story - Pasciullo/Nauck - 7. Yeah, it's more like a memorial for Pasciullo, but I think this story is weird. This new character is questionable and the message isn't that "new" as well. However it's not bad and the last page is a perfect conclusion for this issue. So, overall, this is a good book. Not all stories are great, some of them are boring or just odd here. They feel really unnecessary and kinda ruin the book. But on the other hand we have some masterpieces, which is just so rare in the modern comics. My rating for the book (considering an average of 9 rates) is 7.5. But I want to make it a bit higher just because some stories here really deserve that. But yeah, the pacing is arguable because of the worst ones and the tone changes too often here... If you are a real Spidey fan - this is a must-read for you today.

I don't know, it wasn't that good as I expected it to be. Seeing Joe Bennett's art from 1997 was kinda cool, but the story might be much better. The issue barely concentrates on Peter's past - it's even more about how the Kingpin took the grip of the criminal world. Also this issue sets-up the third Rose. Though it still gives us a few new moments with uncle Ben, it's really not that much too really love this comic. Yeah, Peter was a comic book fan. For a... a few days? Okay. He wanted to be a hero and he will be, it was cool to see him as a 12 yo kid dreaming about a costume and fame. Especially if you know that he'll get the costume, but be no famous (more like infamous). But me myself personally don't like how he got the idea for his web-shooters long ago before the spider's bite. Sorry, not a fan of writers using such backdating. The last 3 pages is a good addition to the story, but it's still pointless. Yet not bad.

Good start, but the age of this comic does a thing. Some parts of this were done poorly even for that time. Also mistakes such as "Peter Palmer" spoil the impression too. However, there are many stories and it's cool to read the very beginning of such a great superhero.

Well, the Vulture is fine. But I don't like the Tinkerer story. I mean, it IS a nice story and it must be very cool for that time, when this was printed. But knowing what Marvel done with the Tinkerer later... This beginning just seems kinda dissapointing. However, Peter is working on Jonah now and he has a web-belt. I also can't believe, that there was Now magazine before Daily Bugle. Did they retcon it later?

Almost flawless issue. This is the first really good spider-man story (if not count his origin). The one big story with a good script instead of two half-sized + new greatest and iconic spider-man villain. They even showed his origin here! Also this story is interesting, because Spidey even was defeated, but with the help of Human Torch cameo, he finally succeed! It is a masterpiece.

Cool! Sandman is a greatest villain and his powers were shown very good in this comic. Also there were more Peter Parker's real life things. Nice issue, but the previous one was better imo.

"This nonsense has gone far enough" - quote of the issue. And that's what I thought while reading the second mini-story... Pointless FF fight (I really already had enough FF in this series...), stupid Parker behaviour, VERY ACCURATE WEB-BAT and other things... Jack Kirby is great and it was cool to see him in this series, especially if you know, that it was he who designed the first unused version of Spider-Man and he could be the penciler of his story. But the script is awful, just like the main idea of that story. What about the first, bigger one... Well, it's not that cool too. The Living Brain is a bad villain... It's not even a villain, to be honest... After Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Sandman and Lizard, Stan Lee introduces just a big green robot? It was designed to answer every question, but somehow it also could fight? I won't believe that... It's stupid. Also there was a good cliffhanger, when Spider-Man's identity was almost revealed. I guessed what would the answer of that robot be... BUT NO. THERE WAS NO REAL ANSWER. JUST SOME ""SYMBOLS"" THAT COULD BE ""SOMEHOW"" TRANSLATED, BUT STILL NO ONE TRANSLATED THEM... So stupid... I hate false cliffhangers... The battle was not of the greatest ones too. To win, Spidey just pressed some buttons on the control panel and that is all. Why couldn't he do it at the very beginning of the battle? Mystery... This comic is a mistake, it's a shame... I like the art and some parts of the story. BUT WHAT THE HECK, PETER AND FLASH BOXING?? AND PETER JUST DIDN'T PRETEND THAT HE WEAK???? HE ACTUALLY DEFEATED FLASH EASILY AND UNHARMED AND NO ONE GUESSED A THING ABOUT HIM NOT BEING THAT WEAK AS THEY THOUGHT HE WERE????? Aaaaarrrr...!! I like Ultimate Spider-Man where Peter almost always allowed himself to be kicked in the ass just to be sure that no one will ever think that he's a Spider-Man (spoiler, one of the school guys still figured that out)

I don't know, I enjoyed this issue, it was quite funny and not bad at all, even though the Beetle is a rather boring villain. I'm not really a fan of these early Spidey/Torch comics, as you might notice by my ratings, but anyway, this time the chemistry between them was cool. But I don't understand why Spidey couldn't just say "hey Torch, your girl was kidnapped by the Beetle!". Wouldn't it be, um... simpler?

Hm, I'm not a fan of Circus of Crime and it was here only a few issues before, but I took a long pause between these issues, and I must admit, for some reason I liked this story. It was really funny and partly silly in a good way.

It was okay, but I guess when it comes to Goblin, I prefer the modern stories, rather than these first ones, when the character was still kinda in development. Not a bad story at all, but it's just another Goblin's appearance in the comic, nothing's really surprising or moving.

Spider-Man gets gaslighted by Mysterio. Yeah, that's what I like.

It was cool and funny story. I love the concept of Jonah using Spider-Slayers to catch Spider-Man, plus gigachad Peter is always nice to see. Love it.

All this criminal crap is a bit boring, just like this new Crime-Master, but it was good for the most part.

Okay, now this issue was quite cool. Ditko's art is great as well, by the way, but he can't stop to surprise me with some unexpected angles and facial expressions. I don't know how people even possibly can hate this old artwork. Comics those days already had great artists.

Man, the cover is great. And the graduation part was quite important. I also like Molten Man, but I didn't understand how could he be covered in this liquid metal if he was fully clothed... And his suit was absolutely clean. And what was that... um... ray? It wasn't even mentioned. It must have been that that device + this liquid metal somehow caused this reaction, but it was never explained in the comic. Plus the way Raxton was defeated is pretty silly.

Jonah is great. Looks like this comic was adapted by Spider-Man 2000 game. Not a bad second appearance of Scorpion at all!

Love Ditko's dramatic art here. And the story was quite fine too.

I wish there was a better villain, because these guys are really boring, but everything Parker-related here was awesome, Stan pretty much nailed the perfect formula for a good Spider-Man comic.

Wow... The level of drama and tension... I believe this story was way ahead of its time... The stakes are too high. Well deserved 10/10. And it's not even the end of the story! Everything's just great here. The way Peter cares for his aunt, the way he uses his old enemies to help him... He also demonstrates some never seen before power and it works as a pretty cool way to show how angry he was then.

Wow, it's even more, than perfect. I would give it 20/10 if I could. Really-really good comic and it doesn't really feel like it's from 1966...

Kraven's part at the end was a bit boring, but overall the main story is fine, I enjoy seeing the development of Peter Parker's life. But I'd already like to see some new villain... Next ish is another old enemy again.

Okay, that was a bit boring and nothing's really new here. But there were some cool moments, especially the last page and that part of action without words, it's not a thing you see often in those old comics.

Not a bad story at all, but I guess it could be much better. Well, it's the last Ditko issue and a new era of Spider-Man begins then. Steve really grew up as an artist through these 38 issues. But Romita Sr took up the baton very well anyway.

Even though it finally makes Goblin the iconic foe he deserved to be, the story still feels a bit too slow and even boring from time to time... I guess it could be executed much better. But anyway, Romita's art is gorgeous, all the characters look the way Ditko made them, but fresh and with John's style added to them.

I think it's okay. Not really outstanding or anything. Cool to finally see Goblin's origin at least.

Wow, that was actually a very nice comic. Love Romita's art here. And it's the first appearance of another iconic Spidey villain. Who back in those days was much more iconic for the Hulk, but anyway... Parker's part in the issue was good all along as well.

This rating is that high not because of the fact it's the first iconic appearance of MJ (but it's iconic, truly iconic). I honestly really liked the story, to my own surprise. The idea of using JJJ's son like this is kinda cool and it was executed well enough. Not a bad way to make Spidey preoccupied with something while Rhino is resting. The bank robbery thing was great too. The suspense was hold long enough and the explanation was reasonable enough. I only wish Spidey could say NO TIME TO EXPLAIN, THERE A BOMB instead of just boasting about how easy it is for him to bend those steel bars...

In my opinion, it was great all around. Lots of cool moments and story decisions, amazing artwork. You really can see how Stan loved all these characters and especially writing this book in the first place. Maybe that's why it still feels so nice to read it even now 60 years after. Imagine...

The way Spidey defeated Shocker... bonkers. I also missed the part where Harry and Pete became real pals, but okay. Not a bad ish overall.

Not a bad comic. However, it could be shorter. There were many pointless lines and scenes, so it makes the comic kinda boring at some parts. But overall it's fine.

Very big annual, but I like it. There's a big 41 page sinister six story, which wasn't perfect, but it's still cool. Also I liked the gallery of most famous Spider-Man's foes, but the title is a crap... It is literally all of the spider-man's foes, not most famous. Guys, they even made a page for the burglar, that killed uncle Ben... And if the showcase of all spidey's powers was boring, but useful, then "Supporting Cast Pin-Ups" were boring and pointless. But the final story about the creation of Spider-Man was funny. Maybe even hilarious... To conclude, it isn't a masterpiece, but this comic was the greatest spider-man book at that time. Every fan must check it out.

It's okay, not a bad comic, but not a very exciting one either. I wish there was more time to show the chemistry between Spidey and Doc. Pin-ups with new Spidey villains (since annual #1) are cool, but there was not that many. Lazy Stan couldn't create new villains every month. The remaining 40 pages are just reprints, while the new story is normal sized. So technically, Spidey-fans of that time who never skipped a single issue just paid 25 cents instead of 12 for the new story... Stonks, I guess.

Two 100% new annuals and then reprints again... Just remember the first annual with 70+ pages of the original content... Made by the same creative team as the main series.

Sleep... It's really quite boring. And these tons of pointless text seem to come out from the 60's... I mean, some of the scenes really seem longer, than they should or feel to be. There were 3 stories. The first one was fine. Not really interesting, but the art really made it better. Byrne is awesome artist. The second 4 pages Scorpion story was really short and pointless. I didn't get the idea. And the last story was something to give new readers a sense of a Spidey's powers. But I dunno... This whole "No more" story again just doesn't work for me. Okay, he's still not a Spider-Man this time, okay, but we all know, that he will eventually become Spider-Man again, so what's the point? I can't say it worth reading, but maybe it'll be better later. I don't want to believe it was bad before JMS.

Yeah! That's way better. It's much more entertaining, the dialogues are better, the art is cool and there's a new mysterious villain. Now I'm really interested.

Reed Cuck Richards... Well, that's an amusing issue with an awesome art. It's actually fine to see something like that here. That's a light reading, except the ending, of course.

Chapter one in the main continuity is shit. And this story is basically exist only because of it being canon at that moment of time. But the comics itself isn't bad.

It's an out-of-continuity shit. Stupid story with a dumb typical villain which can change her sex... Nice, interesting... It just feels so wrong and boring! The art is the only good thing here, but there was still almost nothing to see.

Pure fan service. That was slightly better, than average... And these weird designs... Electro, my boy... Backstory of Mysterio was pointless too. I hope the next part will be better.

This story feels super weird. I mean... overall. WTF was that with this Rocket Racer impostor? It was soooo unnecessary and dumb. Ironic and funny a bit, but still dumb. Plus the thing with MJ here is just meh. No, I see the message of this issue. Everything is random because it's life and everything can happen, everything is a coincidence. But it's just meh. The art is still nice, by the way. I'm kinda glad to finally get back to it again, I hope this time I will finally close this gap before JMS.

Not bad, it's always cool to see some good old Doom in Spidey comics.

WIFELESS, JOBLESS AND HOMELESS. Yeah, exactly. Typical "try to make Parker's life as much miserable as possible" stuff. Been there, done that. I mean, I wish it at least wasn't boring. Because it is. And this story overall is just a PR for some random Marvel limited series of that time... Also Byrne isn't that good here. In most of the pics Spidey's head is just completely flat! And the perspective is also fucked up.

I hate to see Peter hitting a low again, but it was pretty interesting and I was really impressed by Byrne's art here. The Sandman was especially great.

Lol, Liz reminded me about JR Sr and he was the inker here... Makes me think more about the importance of inkers... Anyways, seeing Peter as dishwasher and sleeping on a streets is not what I thought to see here, but it's a fine comic. This Goblin is weird, but the story has many good moments besides it. Also for me it feels like Raimi took some inspiration from this comic. I might be wrong, but can't not see it.

It's... not bad. But I don't know. Feels a bit random. Plus Erik Larsen made some fine pics here, but overall it looked not really fitting.

A bit boring and I can't imagine Mackie made Peter believe Jonah could know his secret identity and still could speak with him calmly. It's just dumb. Either way, I didn't see much Alistair Smythe in comics, so good to see him here. Larsen is fine too. I just wish there was something more to this story. Also it's funny that in those "100 page monsters" 80 pages are always reprints.

It's a bit boring, but not bad at all and it's always cool to see some Romita Jr from early 2000s

This is super boring. These past sections are meh and the origin of this "super villain" is very random and weird. Z'nox... Who the hell? It's not funny, really. Romita is cool, but he's pretty much the only good thing about it.

This is a random shit. I love Romita's art, it's just outstanding (except the face of Jill on one of the first pages). But the story is... oh boy. First of all, it's a tie-in for some Maximum Security event, but the things from the cover were only on two pages of the comic... They appeared, said something untranslatable and just got away... And the Green Goblin parts in this and the previous issues are just soooo random and unnecessary for the story... I understand, that these first ASM vol 2 issues are mostly advertisement for Peter Parker: Spider-Man and some other random limited series and events, but hell, it is bad! Again, Romita is the only good thing about it. The golden alien spaceship was especially cool. But I can't recommend this story arc to anyone at all.

That's the first really solid ASM issue of this pre-JMS period.

Wow, that was cool. I like that the events of the previous arc have lasting effects. It was a good issue of Peter knowing more about his father. And that story told by his father's friend was fine. The conclusion only makes it better - Peter literally instantly had a chance to show that he learned a lesson from that story. The only thing that bothers me is Spidey doing that in front of the guy who told Peter this story only a few minutes ago. I mean, hell, the guy must be in quite a shock if he didn't instantly understand that Spidey is Peter. Also I thought this Squid villain would ruin the issue, because lol, it's just a random guy from that team of 5 new random villains. But no, he was much better this time. I like that Mackie made him less random. But it's still weird, that it was Peter father's friend who is the father of this villain. Too much coincidences, but either way, that was a solid issue overall and I love to see the quality of ASM raising before even JSM. If you just like me had a fear that after a solid Goblin arc Mackie came back to writing some boring shit - don't be deceived. It's good.

It's not a bad and also quite amusing issue, but it leaves too many questions. What's with the cat? Why did AIM made it? How did they experiment on it exactly? Why did they need to hire some two random gangsters no one will ever remember and use again? I don't know, it feels really random. But since it reads fine and has a nice Romita Jr art - I really can't rate it lower. I actually kinda even appreciate that Mackie tried to make these gangsters memorable by giving them some special repetitive phrases, but it's really not enough. Not enough.

Fine issue, but I really can't say anything else much about it. Gang wars, Enforcers - every time it's the same. Though the opening Peter scene was really amusing and Bennett's art was great all along. Yeah, Mary Jane is alive. Wow! I couldn't even think about it.

The art is awesome. Plus it's cool to see Peter finally find MJ. And the explanation of this Stalker was okay. It still feels a bit random, but not bad. And I really hate when they make the second part of the story for that Peter Parker series... But either way, I finally closed this gap in ASM vol 2! Now I think I'll read more Peter Parker: Spider-Man. That series was published in my country since issue 30 and I even read it, so it would be nice to relive these childhood memories.

Just a boring 9/11 speech, that interrupts the series. But yeah, it was inspiring. I mean, it could be more inspiring without Doctor Doom crying and etc. Do you really think that it's a nice idea? Imagine Stalin crying about deaths of innocents. Ha! He's just a tyrant, that executes his own civilians every day.

I dunno, it's just got me... And I'm reading this not for the first time and not even for the second.

This is an iconic issue. But I remember that in Amazing Fantasy #15 Ben was shot in his own house and Peter knew it, isn't he? Hm... But it doesn't make this comic worse for me.

It really doesn't need any dialogues. This issue is great. Simple and grounded, but great. The cover is cool too. I would say that it's a "talking cover"... You know... Talking...

Huh, scene with the popcorn was hilarious. Also, Shade is a weird villain. He never appeared somewhere except this arc and he's kinda too default in my opinion... But the story is good.

Page two just demonstrates why Gaydos is a bad artist and Romita Jr is great. Well, this story was good. Good, but this conclusion is very depressing... Well, it's all about being a hero... P.S. There's some info you may find interesting: "When Spider-Man comes to Doctor Strange for help, Doctor Strange mentions that he is busy, and the reason that he is busy was something to be revealed in a Doctor Strange miniseries "The Other Side of Darkness". However, that miniseries never came out. Instead, two years later, Straczynski wrote a revamped Doctor Strange origin miniseries called Strange. More than five years after this issue came out, Straczynski was on the way out as the writer of Amazing Spider-Man after a long and acclaimed run. But he couldn’t just leave that Doctor Strange plothole hanging there. So, in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #24, the second part of One More Day, the story that is titled "The Other Side of Darkness", Peter, desperate, decides to try to cast a spell himself. It does not go well for him but Doctor Strange rescues him and finds a way to cure him. But to do so, Strange needs to take Peter back in time to a time when Strange knows that he was not present at his Sanctum Sanctorum. He ended up back at this issue. So, the Doctor Strange who spoke to Peter back in this issue was actually a time-traveling Doctor Strange from the future. So the appointment Strange had with death behind those doors was Peter."

Actually, what a coincidence again... Something is happening in California and Peter just need to fly there... Nice! But however, if not, then Otto would not be dead. I like that he independent enough. Only Otto could be the superior Spider-Man. And yeah, the scene in airport was bad... Too dumb. And yeah, another one-arc villain. And this one isn't that original... Just a copycat.

The conclusion is awesome, hey! Doc isn't that bad.

Epic. The beginning reminds me one of the classic Spider-Man stories. And well, Otto is awesome here. But didn't aunt May really know, that he's a Doc Ock? That's weird... Maybe she forgot...

This first page is the definition of Parker's luck. It's just... so depressing. I don't understand why all these writers hate him so much... And yeah, I like, that Michael is trying to create new enemies for Spidey. But Shatra is sooooooooo Morlun. I mean... She want to eat him. She can find him wherever he is... Dunno. But yeah, I like, that Spidey now has more enemies like these. Supernatural, mystic.

I dunno, this was very weird in many ways. Why did Shatra try to destroy his reputation, if he was already hated by almost everyone? Why didn't Shatra continue to pretend that she's just a woman, if she tried to destroy Spidey's reputation? And what's wrong with this conclusion? I dunno, it wasn't bad, but kinda weak in comparison with other issues.

I dunno... Why is Peter so virgin? He shouldn't be... And this new four-issues-villain is bad, I think. At least his origin is weird. But he's new and that's cool. Also, what's wrong with the timeline? If the guy from 50's should be 70+ now, then Peter should be around 50... But he's not.

Well, okay, that was a nice recap of his story... This 500th issue was epic. However, I still have some problems with this story, but it's better, than most of the issues before. Old numeration is finally restored and I'm interested in what will be next. I read this series many years ago and remember not that much.

This cover and the description have nothing with the story inside... And yeah, that's the first appearance of Leo Zelinsky. He also appeared in the 12th part of The Other and... That's all. But it's a good character, I don't understand why they don't use him...

This spiders invasion was very epic and terrific. Plus, now there's even more sense to Spider-Man's origin... And the conclusion twist may hurt my fellings, but it's still cool.

You know, at first I wanted to lower this rating, because of all these giant spiders and other mystic shit like that. But still... This issue made me feel very strong emotions. It was intense. I think, this issue is really epic and it's better, than much of the previous stuff. And also that's the last issue of Romita Jr on TASM and the conclusion of Ezekiel story... Yeah, I think I'm fine with this 10.

Huh, I'm finally here... On the story arc, that most people feel to be the worst in Spider-Man history... Never read that before, but for now it's cool. Very interesting and entertaining. Plus Mike Deodato is a worthy replacement for the Romita JR. His art is so cool... You know, I already know that they retconned Gwen to be whore, but... For now I don't feel this idea that bad. She had a period of time, when she wasn't in the city. She is a person and people aren't flawless, they can make mistakes. And all this story just gave Norman more reasons to kill Gwen. Plus, it could make all old fans and Peter to hate Gwen and finally accept Mary Jane as the only one appropriate woman for Peter... Yeah, it's still hurt and people chose to hate Marvel instead of Gwen, but this twist could make you feel emotions. Even bad, but strong emotions. I dunno what I will say about the issue with that twist, but for now I'm fine with that, especially when they retconned it in the 2021 ASM run.

I dunno, it's still good and makes me feel anxious.

This is kinda messy, but still very interesting... And Peter just proved, that he never had a sex with Gwen. So what now? Did he really think, that woman doesn't need it? That he can just be "a good boy"? Ha! I think, even with the fact, that her sex with Norman was retconned, she still could have it with someone else, because Peter is a simp. Yeah, maybe she didn't, but she 100% could.

This is a very hard story. This story is very hard for Peter. And that's why it so hard for fans. You know, all of you just rate it as 1.0 because you disagree with this decision of the people behind this book, but is it really worth it? I read bad comics in my life. I read boring comics, I read crazy and disturbing comics without any logic in it, I read comics with an eye-bleeding art. But this is none of these cases. This comic is very emotional and it can make you feel emotions. Even negative, but still, it gives you much more, than any typical story, where Spider-Man kick some bad guy's butt. Actually, I never really liked Gwen at all. I thought, that Peter was meant for MJ from the very beginning. From the first mention of "Anna Watson's daughter". Okay, Peter loved her. He still loves her. That's fine. But was she a really good person? We didn't have a chance to really know. And Peter too. So much of her time spent was behind the scenes and Peter spent so much time fighting bad guys and not going out with Gwen. Yeah, that's cool, when you think only good about people, but not all of them are angels. She really thought, that Peter would accept her with two kids from the other man. And not just other - it's his mortal enemy by the way! Do you think, she would think of him like that, if he at least had a sex with her from time to time? And you know what? PETER WOULD TOTALLY ACCEPT HER WITH HIS CHILDREN! BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT HE IS. He is the romantic fool indeed. He is so "right", that sometimes he loses the connection with the reality. And how can you blame Gwen? You have a boyfriend, who doesn't have a nerve to have sex with you. And then you meet a real mature man with charisma, and he is so attractive, that it's just wakes your animal desires up. How could she resist? And yeah, this was retconned, but still, it doesn't make this story less logic. To be honest, I don't even understand how they could retconned it... Did they mess MJ's memory too? Maybe I need to read it, but I really don't look forward to it. I don't think that this story was a mistake. The retcon of it was a mistake. It was done to justify that insane run by playing with the feelings of fans, who felt humiliated by this comic. It's far from 1.0. "It makes sense now. It all makes sense now". The absence of logic is the only real thing, that I hate in comics so much. And this story is... Yeah, it's a hard pill to swallow for many of you, but this story is logic and really well-written. I disagree with the crowd and I rate it higher, than many of fans would dare. And I'm still a really big fan of this character. The only thing that is really bad here and even I can't justify this - is the Norman's face, when he f*cked Gwen. That's just unforgivable... I wish Mike chose something more appropriate. Guys, just reread the last two frames. Peter just found out, that his dead ex-girlfriend cheated on him. And he thinks how to save her (AND OSBORN'S) kids, because that's the last thing left of her. OF HIS WONDERFUL GIRLFRIEND, THAT HE STILL LOVES SO MUCH, AND HE KNOWS, THAT SHE F*CKED WITH HIS ARCH ENEMY!!!!!! It is who Peter is. And you should blame Stan Lee for this. Because that's his basis of this character. And who could blame Sam Raimi's Peter for accepting Mary Jane after Flash, Harry, SPIDER-MAN, John Jameson Jr and Harry again?

Still cool, but Gabriel is so dumb... Also, Peter is dumb too. He don't want to fail Gwen again, but she failed him, when cheated on him and didn't even tell him...

Wow, Mark Brooks! Honestly, I really like it, because it was my first TASM issue. I read it in 2007 and it seems still pretty nostalgic... But now I see, that this story isn't that flawless. Yeah, again, character from the past and we didn't hear anything about him before... And Peter is so paranoid... If he didn't hurry Charlie, then he wouldn't blow up the place... Also, there was ONLY one page of Peter in Spidey's costume, which feels pointless... And since when the hell Peter has a car?

I'm smarter, than you, but you have to help me get the metal skin off... Also, Uncle Ben was never that badass...

Why the hell is this Charlie is the first one, who decided, to destroy aunt May's home? And everything is just to move them all to the Avengers tower...

I wish one day he could return. Why not. Also, that's where Peter got the car in the first part...

Ha-ha, the first time Peter showed some initiative in having the sex with MJ was after the Wolverine taunted him... That's awesome.

This is a very good The Other tie-in

First of all, Mike Deodato is awesome. Now I can review this issue. If second part was focused on MJ, than this - on May. And it was nice. And Tracer... He's such an interesting character... But that's so sad, that most of the action was off-screen. There was a fight in the second part, but we saw it only through the TV. And now there was a giant robot, as they said, but we didn't see that... And they actually killed Tracer... And he didn't return so far. This whole potential was wasted... It's just dumb. But well, we have what we have. And it's a good issue overall, I like to reread it. I wish Marvel remember Tracer and tell us more about him... He wasn't even a human. Who created him and why? Also here's the problem I have with most of the parts of this arc - the main disease story almost doesn't move here... Spidey just met Morlun and decided to tell his aunt about the disease... That's all.

This issue is iconic. If you thought, that his first fight with Morlun was hard, then look at this one. Here's the pure action and this action is good, man... Peter's monologue inside his head is so full of hope, but he didn't win this fight... Man, that creep took his eye and ate it... I know, that american people of that time knew, that Spidey won't die, because Marvel already announced many other comics featuring him and etc. But in my country and in my age I couldn't just google it, so I really thought that he will die. It worked for me, so I rate it 10. This issue is unbelievably awesome. Truly amazing. Still loving it.

The first half of the comic was so-so, but the Cap vs Spidey battle saved it. P.S. Why didn't someone tell JMS that Spidey's sense isn't a secret and the Chameleon used it even in TASM #1. And even Iron Man used the frequency of his spider sense to call him...

Wow, he understood! And also, why did they put HEROES into the negative zone prison with vibranium walls, but all VILLAINS, TERRORISTS, KILLERS are on the Riker's island or something like that, where it's so easy to break out...

The comic was great enough, but! His webbing dissolves after an hour, how could he keep his black suit webbed up for years? And he abandoned it because it scared MJ... Not to use it in a day like this.

It's kinda weird. I understand, that he's on the edge... And why the hell nobody recognizes him? His face was all over the media few issues before.

I don't know what to hate here at this point... Maybe only Quesada's weird faces of Peter. But it's really nice now, interesting to see Peter on the edge.

Power and responsibility... What makes their love so "unique"? I mean, why not take Mr Fantastic's and Sue's marriage? Why Spider-Man? Why Peter will feel guilt if May dies, but will not if he makes a deal with the devil? Because he will forget it? Okay. And how the hell should it work exactly? Mephisto just rewrites the reality, but in a way convenient for the author and the editors? And what MJ told him? How many unanswered questions... And who will ask them? I believe it won't be Joe Quesada. I googled there was a "you will make me remember everything" phrase, but wtf? She isn't. So, Mephisto didn't agreed to her. What was the point? Peter agreed to the deal before he actually thought about it. This decision was based on emotions. It's irresponsible. And stupid... WTF, May was already old enough, how could he prefer her life over his future? Why didn't he took responsibility and lived with the guilt as he lived after Ben died. It's the same story, the same. But if at the age of 15 he lived over it and became a better man, now he just retconned himself and destroyed so many years of character development... But well... If Sins Past was retconned (even as dumb as it was done), then it's only a matter of time when this bargain will be undone. We just must be patient. How hard can it be, right?

This is the same boring set-up of this new era just like FCBD 2007. But it "introduces" two more new villains (yet to be ones) and honestly the only good thing about it was that part with JJJ. And the art, of course, especially of McNiven. I'm a super simp for his old works.

Meh... This Rabin guy is puny as hell... And yet he's really creepy. Maybe it's just me, because I had an irrational fear of a similar guy in my childhood. There was a schizophrenic man walking around my neighbourhood, he always mumbled something to himself and he had a similar dark beard. Me and my friends loved to walk around him and see what he's doing, but I freaked out every time I saw him close. I kinda think it's okay, that Wells gave a second chance to Rabin, because he's just a typical one-story-only dumb villain here. And yeah, I also want to admit, that maybe I like Bachalo's art more, than hate it. Not like I reeeeeally hate it, but when I get used to the style - it's very easy to appreciate all the hard work that was put in this art. By the way, anyone understood how and why Rabin grew his beard in a moment and then just shove it? I mean, how much sense in this?

The Menace is boring on that level, so even this Freak character looks better in comparison with it. I mean, it's at least an original character and not just 100th goblin... And yet, this is far beyond hilarious - can't remember a dumber Spider-Man's enemy. Maybe only the Rhino.

Two more new characters! Really, BND was very productive introducing new villains. Current Spider-Man series must remember that once in a while Spidey should get a new enemies and not only some arc-long Kindred, which is not even a completely new character... And also at this point the comic resembles some TV series, it's interesting enough and not 100% focused on Peter. I want more JJJ, by the way. And seeing Peter as paparazzi isn't a bad thing as well.

It's not bad. And I think I love this artist. I remembered I saw him in Daredevil and Doctor Strange: The Oath. Also wtf, did he really drew THE WALKING DEAD: THE ALIEN? The art was meh there... But it's great here. I really like it.

It's... Not really bad. And I see the Kraven's Last Hunt reference even in the Vermin's appearance. But... I really do question Ana's intelligence. I mean... She searched info on Peter on the internet, she tried to shoot him on his work, she saw she didn't make it, she saw how he moved, but... For some reason she really thinks that Vin is Spider-Man. Okay, why not, dumb russians once again, it's nothing new. But wtf is wrong with Peter himself? Does such "masks" work in Marvel comics as well? I mean, his face is almost entirely shown in that Daredevil suit. At least Vin will definitely expose him. Oh, who am I trying to deceive here... Of course everyone here is dumb.

I don't really like the military theme and war related propaganda, but this is a very important story for Flash and it was done metaphorically enough to be great.

Some extraordinarily disgusting art from Bachalo on most of the pages here and this Joe Kelly guy writes Spider-Man (and even aunt May!!!) like a noob... Only the final pages with Hammerhead were cool.

I don't know how they could make Hammerhead so intimidating and then ruin it within a few pages... That's just meh.

Yeah, I always love when Punisher and Spidey team up. But... This comic is weird. First of all, the Jameson/Bookie story is dumb, it wasn't needed, it was weird, it interrupted the story. But even the main story wasn't THAT good. I love Rivera, but what the hell did he do with Punisher's skull? And his art was overall very dirty here, he had better, much better works. The story itself is a bit boring, but the ending was cool. I also didn't think this Moses Magnum guy isn't some random one-issue only crook - he's actually a very old Spidey's villain (and not only his) and even his first appearance was in another Spidey/Punisher team-up, but Wells writes this comic like every reader knows this guy and it's a classic Green Goblin level villain... I don't even understand what was the point of picking him as a villain in this book in the first place... P.S. Peter now wants to be a cabbie! That "Wa alaykumu s-salam" scene in the beginning of BND might has even more sense now.

Finally, not a bad comic...

Finally, a truly amazing issue! Everything is great here: art, Spidey's self-sacrifice, Jameson's father, Shocker. The rat scene is great and unexpected as well. I guess, it would surprise me even more if I didn't see Vermin biting Spidey a few issues back. The only thing I didn't like about it is how short it is... Not enough for me after a few mediocre arcs.

Hey, Wells! Learn from Stern how to use a no-name villain! Actually, this Blank guy was only in West Coast Avengers written by non other than Roger Stern himself, so he decided to remember his old C-tier villain for this Spider-Man story. And it wasn't bad! There was a retelling of his story and he even could get some proper character development, but he didn't... Okay, Blank starts to lose control of his powers. And so what? How did it affect the story? However it's still a good comic. Not a fan of characters like Donovan, though, who somehow already met Peter, but we didn't see it anywhere.

NOOOOOOOO! Charlie Weiderman is cured! Off the screen! I thought we would see him one day when some writer remembers him... But I guess if so - he will be in human form again. Okay, why not. How Harry could cure a vibranium-skin guy with a thing against Molten Man is a mystery for me, though. Not a bad story, by the way, but the ending was kinda meh... And RIP Bookie. Can't say I will miss him, the character was destroyed through the BND arc, but it was a nice idea overall. Without him all villains in that bar will miss betting on everything...

Just want to say - I hate political PR stories... Chameleon impersonates Obama... Okay, it wasn't really bad, but it's funny how Spidey makes fun of Biden twice and now in 2023 Biden is the president (at his finest) and everyone loves him. Interesting how our world changed since then... I guess it's why I prefer to read these old comic books over the new ones. But the main story is fine. I guess it's a bit... Well... I just don't think it's that cool, that's what I can say with my pretty limited vocabulary. But I can't blame Peter for being nice with Betty when all her friends turned away from her, because now he's nice with the man, who killed his girlfriend, crippled his school bully (temporary, but still), almost killed his wife and aunt... And that's not even the end of the list of his sins.

Oh man, Vin is in deep shit again... The comic isn't very entertaining, by the way. Just a set up for the arc.

This twist reminds me of the one from the current ASM 26...

This is funny... She basically did beat the crap out of Harry (okay, he first), said him that she kissed his friend, stole his father's equipment and serum, and after that she decided to say yes to his proposal... Which she rejected what... an hour before? Two hours? This is bad on a level where I can even kinda enjoy this - it's amusing as hell.

I don't like how this thing with spider tracer killer is ended here and the best part of this story was in the Amazing Spider-Man Extra #1, so... It's just fine, but nothing more.

It could be worse, but it also could be better.

Actually, it collects #532-538. It wasn't bad, but could be better, I think. Some parts were boring, or stupid.

It's an arguable book, but I really like it. The worst part of this are these Marvel Knights issues. The art and the story there were often bad...

This period of TASM isn't flawless, but it's definitely one of my favourites. Awesome art of John Romita and then Mike Deodato both junior + fresh ideas of JMS made it pretty solid and interesting. It had some kinda boring arcs and maybe wrong decisions, but overall, it mostly good and I like to reread these stories. Straczynski made Spider-Man great again and showed his powers from the other perspective, without actually retconning his origin.

One of the best Spider-Man periods for me.

I really loved Morlun here. One of the most intense Spider-Man arcs.

It's actually 7.2 for me, but... I would still want to rate it as 7.5, not 7.0. Why? I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't. But I can't say I really suffered through this book. There is still something...

This is a good conclusion to the Straczynski/Romita Jr run.

Fans hate it just because they didn't think, that Gwen could be not an angel. If you find out that your girlfriend cheated on you, then you still yell, that it's out of her character? That's how life works sometimes. Sometimes it's shit. And why the hell all comics should be funny and innocent? This is an interesting arc, that's written very well. I wasn't bored even for a second. Plus art is gorgeous. In the reviews of individual issues I tried to explain why this Gwen twist isn't bad at all, so I don't want to repeat myself. But maybe after my reviews some other fans just think for a second and maybe they will have their own opinion.

It's kinda boring and a bit weird. The Sandman's small story was okay, nothing's really outstanding, but better, than the first one. The art in the first story was especially weak for the new age of comics. I can't begin to imagine how some of the Spider-Man fans got tired of Harry's "revivals". The villain in the story was pretty weak too. There were some good moments with Normie, but that's pretty much it. Overall it's a weak annual, but I think I still rather liked it, than not liked.

This is much better, than most of the Spider-Man comics of that era and it was unexpected to see Bennett here, but the ending ruined for me. I mean, I just wanted to be happy that Peter was happy at least then, but looks like Marvel loves to separate them again and again. She just "came back from dead" and decided to... what? think a bit?

Well, not bad at all! It even made this Jackpot character a bit more interesting for me.

I have mixed feelings about it. It was the most weird and unnecessary Spider-Man, Deadpool and Hulk team-up... This story could be much better as Spider-Man's solo comic. The art is fine. It's a bit too digital for me, but fine. The story about The Amazing Spider had fine start, but the conclusion was unexpected in a bad way. Yeah, I was really surprised by that, but not really impressed and happy.

Well... I'm here for Kamala, but I will definitely get back to this ASM volume. After I read Superior. But still, I kinda remember this era of Spider-Man. At least this Spider-Britain tie-in story was in my Spider-Verse omni. I think the first Spider-Verse was a super cheap and fan-service idea, but at least an original one. It wasn't that bad. The main story with Kamala team-up is okay, but that's pretty much it. It was only a beginning, nothing's really interesting and epic. I'm really not a fan of post-superior Spider-Man era from what I tried reading there and Slott isn't that awesome at portraying Kamala, but the comic was fine overall.

Not bad! This Spider-Verse side story was brief, but better, than the previous one. And the main story with Kamala ended pretty cool as well.

This limited series was very important for the main Spider-Man series of that time. This issue has 3 new stories. The first one is about how Mr. Negative brought Hammerhead back. It's also a huge flashback to Joseph's life. I hate it when ALL character powers and names are somehow linked to their childhood. I mean, Hammerhead was called like that by school bullies, his father did beat him with a hammer, he himself did beat other people with a hammer... I don't know, it's a bit overthought. The second story is... lame. Just lame. But the power of friendship is fine. And the last one was a bit boring, but satisfying in the end. Can't say I didn't like it.

Both Anti-Venom and Logan stories are great. Maybe the second one is even better. But what I know for sure: I definitely need to read Anti-Venom solo series.

Um... Actually! The third story was pretty unnecessary, overdue and pointless epilogue to that Ana Kraven story arc. The first one was a fine epilogue to the whole Character Assassination arc. But the second story! Yeah, it was mostly here just to show that Norman DID free Lily out of prison, but still, it was soooo cool to see Norman as a father. Oh my god, how freaking badass he was! He's mostly the reason why I rate it this high. Other than that it would be a standard 7.5.

It looks like this prequel was made only to show why Peter changed his suit in the second movie. Well... I must admit it was not that bad, but still kinda boring and pointless. The art is fine, but I don't really like this animated comic thing. I prefer classic format. And you can find this comic in this format, it exists, however, I could find it only in some panini magazine on a language I can't understand... So yeah, had to stick with the original version.

This story is very arguable. Very arguable. It has some flaws, maybe even many of them, not all decisions of the writer were good and working for me. But the art is awesome. If not for the art, I'd rate it 7.5 or 8. Actually, nice TPB-one-shot. That's a rare format for Marvel. I even bought this book years ago. Can't say I really enjoyed that, but it's a nice reading. At least for the art. And I didn't read anything else about Teresa, she seem to become very important, especially for the 5th volume of TASM. So, if you are interested in her origin - then this story is definitely on your to-read-list. P.S. I think, black suit was super unnecessary and odd here...

I think this is the best you can do when you try to retell a 2 hour film in 2 normal size comic issues... The art is surprisingly good and I like how the movie story was captured here. I wish it wasn't THAT rushed, but so far it doesn't miss any necessary points of the story at least.

Not bad. This was released when the second movie came out so fans could read this comic instead of re-watching the movie or so... Not the worst adaptation I saw. I liked the art and it wasn't too rushed. But yeah, they could give it at least another 2 issues and make some scenes longer as they should be.

Good start. Enjoyable humor, nice art, interesting story. There's not much action and this comic has come cringy moments, but still pretty solid reading.

I don't know what about the low ratings. It's good. I'm not a fan of Thor and his manner of speech (it's soooo freaking hard to understand sometimes), but I like Ego and this story is pretty much about him, so this issue wasn't really something besides the good set-up. Plus the art is great and borders on the pages even make it kinda cooler.

This book isn't bad, it's just not as good as it could be. The events on the Earth could be described better instead of so many pages with one picture on them. And these flashbacks with Zephyr aren't really good. As well as the conclusion of this whole story. The potential is kinda wasted, but it's still a nice reading, however not for everyone.

Almost nothing important is happening here, but it looks an reads awesomely! It's really cool to get back to this series after 2 years. I had this second "Dangerous" arc on my bookshelf as well and now I really want to read further. I never tried this series beyond these two story arcs.

Oh wow... I must say, that might be a weird idea, but it's still an interesting choice for X-Men enemy. And the line "They are not in the Danger Room - they are in danger" was awesome. And Prof is especially badass in the end.

The Prof is truly badass... And it's funny how no one could heal aunt May from a gunshot in One More Day, but X-Men have Elixir, who can heal a big hole in a belly of two different people...

Wow, it's not just great, it's really really good! I already started to blame Gary for being such a hypocrite, but the twist did put everything at its place. It was awesome! And I get more and more interested in the characters and story. Also, I couldn't not notice that this idea of saving some guy to feed of him later was already used by Robert in Marvel Zombies. Do you remember that twist with Pym and T'Challa? I don't know, it worked the second time too! If you thought about reading this comic, I think you should! The Astounding Wolf-Man actually begins much quicker and more interesting, than Invincible. I doubt it'll be that good in a long run, but it's only 25 issues, maybe it will!

Somehow Kirkman could ruin absolutely everything in one issue. Yeah, he did things like this in the Walking Dead and it's obviously only to keep the book moving and interesting, but... I don't know. It's just too much for one issue. But I still look forward to see what will happen next. So yeah, it worked. Not like it was needed though. The books was already interesting enough. I'm really glad Robert doesn't do this to the Invincible. It may work in the Walking Dead, because it's post-apoc and dead characters just make space for new ones. But superhero comics must be repetitive and stable to some measure.

You know, Wolf-Man was a combination of Hulk and Batman from the very beginning, but now it's just Hulk, pretty classical one. I don't know, I did prefer it more when it wasn't.

Everything is already ruined to the point of no return, it won't make anything any worse. So yeah. 6/10 only for the fact that it's still not bad of a comic book. I just really don't like the course Robert did set for these characters. It really leaves some unnerving after-taste.

Only 6 issues left... I don't know, it's definitely not what I wanted. Not what I thought this series will be. It's a fine comic, but I feel a smell of some terribly wasted potential...

Okay! THIS I didn't expect.

After the death of Rebecca only Chloe's death would make me feel anything. And I'm not even sure. So Dunford's death looks like a cheap way to make more drama out of nothing, just to show how serious things are. Yeah, the character development through these 22 issues was okay, but honestly not enough to make this something super unexpected and shocking. Rebecca's death was. But either way, it's good. There's also even a Code Blue back-up story. I don't know what to think about it yet, but the twist was okay, I think it'll pay off.

Honestly, this is a satisfying enough conclusion. And the backstory of Code Blue was okay. At least not bad.

It is a good series overall, but the potential was wasted. It begins so cool only to make you feel desperate when things go to hell. However, it ends on a rather happy note, so I can't say I didn't enjoy the book. It was mostly interesting and great. I just wish Kirkman would have put as much effort into this as he put into Invincible.

Came for the Hulk - stayed for Avengers. It does a really good work of capturing what it is to be an avenger. I still don't really care much about most of these heroes and villains, but it looks like a solid comic to me.

I guess I would like it more if I was in context of this comic. But it's still great to see some events you know from a completely different perspective and with new details added in...

It was better, than I expected. Maybe I even should give this weird series a chance. These random long forgotten characters really do feel like something new.

Good opening issue. It's pretty intriguing, but not on 10/10 level.

It feels a bit random and slow now. 3 issues of flashbacks and villains readying their attack. Too many villains. Even the freaking Rhino! Also I'm not a big fan of Panther, so I can't say is it OK or not for Klaw to be a killer of Challa's father, but I definitely miss his sound-hand... Where is that and why didn't he have it in flashbacks??? P.S. I checked the first appearance of Klaw and they really kinda retconned the original story... Yeah, the outcome is the same - Klaw killed Chakka, and Challa shot Klaw's hand. But the actual scene was very different and in Wakanda first of all! Not a fan of retcons, sorry... I could understand adding something we didn't see, even if it's hard to imagine how it really could happen (Black Panther vs Cap in WW2, these "lost adventures" of Cap just seem so dumb, he had a pretty intense series back then...), but this is a different matter.

The cover is weird... The comic is far from a masterpiece as well. Yeah, it's cool, I like to read it. But there are a few buts, that make me like it less. First of all, the villains team here is soooo random and weird... And these Black Knight and Radioactive Man are not the original ones, they are just random dudes, who appeared only in this exact comic series... Okay, why not. But I also find weird this contrast between the suits of Black Knight/Rhino and Black Panther/Klaw/Radioactive Man/Batroc. I mean, when the second half is all realistic and on "Marvel Knights" grown up level, Rhino and Knight seem sooo weird in comparison to them. Yeah, Rhino is Rhino and you can't change him much, but that Black Knight could be different or not be in this book at all. It's not like it lacks villains, because there's also that no-name Cannibal who as well was only in this series. Also there was a mistake. Rhino is called an american. Um... Alexey Sytsevich an american? Okay, why not. But Klaw isn't! And Batroc isn't. It just feels dumb, like Reginald Hudlin didn't make any research at all (and I already had a feeling he didn't read Klaw's first appearance). Well, I dunno, it really could be much better.

The Rhino splash-page was just awesome... As well as the good old Klaw. There's a lot of action finally and I'm totally fine with that. Also I now think, that this russian Radioactive Man was super unnecessary, because it seems every villain here represents a different country. But the Rhino is a russian as well! So two russians... They could at least get an original Radioactive Man or some native american villain...

I'm here again for Marvel Zombies. One day I will read this series too. I read the first 6 issues years before and I remember it to be a nice Black Panther comic book. But I can't say it about this issue. If that's where that series came, then it's bad as a Black Panther comic. But as a comic, that reveals adventures of Marvel Zombies after Marvel Zombies vol 1, it is bearable.

This one was better

It was kinda cool zombie comic and not bad as Black Panther comic. I liked all these dialogues between zombies, they are hilarious sometimes. However, it seems, that this "golden frog" arc is far from over. I definitely need to read this series from the very beginning.

It wasn't enough for me to read just War Machine's Secret Invasion tie-in. I remember glancing through this one and it's cool indeed.

A really good Black Panther comic

I remembered it was better, when I read it as a teenager. For some reason now it wasn't THAT cool. I see many points where the story could be better, stronger and more solid. Still it worth reading. I only think it's not really fair that it's the only one Black Panther story people hype about. The art of Romita Jr was outstanding as always, at least...

To be honest, I'm really not impressed. It's boring and has almost no sense, just a possible future with such a simple story stretched on a whole issue. The art isn't the best as well.

I guess, it's not bad and not really 18+ (at least now), but I don't feel like the story is that good. The art is okay, but the story feels a bit forced and without some real possibilities to keep me interested. The last page was also weird as hell, but I'll see what it meant.

Okay, it gave all the answers and if I'm not really feel that cool about them, at least now it makes more sense. Some perverted, but still sense. And the last part will just be a climax of the whole story.

Well... Not a bad conclusion. However, I really didn't like Yelena in this book. I wish I could sympathize her more, but she's not that badass as she should be and it doesn't felt that personal as this story should be. I wish there were more inner thoughts of Yelena and some scenes with her alone or at least more flashbacks. The story feels really flat sometimes. But again, I can't say it was boring or I struggled reading this.

The adaptation was okay, but very rushed starting from the sewers scene... Also the art is a bit meh, I thought the so called "VFX" in comics are much easier to do, but it's worse, than in the movie... And the movie had a pretty meh CGI even for it's time. Still better, than in 1998 movie, though... Anyway, the movie is better.

Well... This is a web comic and it was... um... interactive. Kinda. There are several "captures" of this comic and you can still find and "read" them, they are all different a bit, because the comic had some animation and the only way to rip it just doesn't exist. But it's enough to get the basic idea - it's a crap. The art is so-so, the story is... Well, it's just a movie tie-in, it basically explains the world of Blade, but all of this information was in the movie, so it really doesn't have much value if you saw the film. Anyway, good to know such thing existed and was preserved for us to see in 2024. It was just bad. Too short and not really exciting at all.

Not a bad short prequel to Blade: Trinity at all. Back then I would be glad to get it with a DVD. It's also connects with the movie very well and gives some insight on the origins of the new characters.

An okay movie prequel, but honestly it doesn't really feel like one... Where's Abraham Whistler? What's with the talking computer security system? I don't remember this in the movie and I just re-watched it... Meh... The comic is fine, but it looks like something rather from early 90's, not late. But the art isn't really bad, even good on most pages. The story is just okay. Not really interesting, but not completely boring. I wouldn't recommend it and it doesn't have much value for the movie, but I can't say I regret about reading it.

This artist is much better for this series and honestly the issue wasn't bad. I must admit it was fun even. Now it feels like a Brit comic and not just something with Brit as supporting cast. Also here's another cameo of Mark Grayson, which is a nice bonus too. I still don't understand what was that scene for back in the previous issue with him, Wolf and Tech Jacket... But nevermind, previous arc was really chaotic and pretty bad overall...

It's much better, when Brit and his sister are together and it's not just her alone. Also looks like something big is coming with those seemingly altverse Invincible, Wolf-Man, Tech Jacket and... Robot? I believe it's Monster Girl... Maybe Rex died and she decided to honor his memory by using his tech and dyeing her hair. Either way, I don't like when things like this are put in comics just for the sake of putting them and then it pays off only some books later. Will it even pay off?

The best issue of the series easily. The story was fine and there was even a bonus story with Brit's origin, which is especially cool. I wish every issue of this series was on this level... But sadly no. It was mostly boring or too weird to care.

I didn't expect it to be this good. Quite a nice piece of the Invincible world. By the way, these stories were colored in this book, so it's cool, makes it much better. There's also an epilogue that seem to be exclusive for the book and it's a nice transition to the 2007 Brit series. Of course there are also some sketches and etc, so be sure to read this TPB instead of the original one-shots, I kinda regret I didn't.

Not bad at all. I decided to check Brit's solo adventures after liking him in the second volume of Guardians of the Globe and kinda getting used to the guy in Invincible comics. Not a bad beginning, pretty character defining. Also I was surprised to see Tony Moore here. It feels really Walking Dead-ish and it's 2003 as well. And black & white, yes.

This is a lot of fun and pretty action packed. Brit and the supporting cast got some development, which is cool, plus the artwork of Tony was outstanding, especially everything with that snow giant. That hit in his eyeball was remarkably awesome. There was one weird scene with that Brit's ex-wife and it felt... odd. Nothing was told about it at all, it just was. Maybe there'll be more info in the next issues, but still, this book would be better of without it. All in all it's a nice read and I really recommend it.

Wow, this story was super confusing... I was fine with this suddenly not being Marvel, but the quality is soooo low here... The art is fine, okay, but the story starts with no set up and at the end you understand, that the story was about some double date, but it's just not interesting at all. These Marvel stories told the origin of the hero on the first page and had a bearable script with a good beginning. This is nonsense.

Well, I can see the style of Daniel Way. Just like in Venom 2003 there was no Bullseye for most of the comic, so I really started to worry, but then I calmed down. So, Way made some interrogation an excuse to get an origin story from Bullseye. Why not? It works even if the idea isn't that original. So, as a beginning issue it was a bit boring, it really didn't need THAT much explanation of how freaking impenetrable and cool the prison they keep Lester in. Stop, Lester? He's called Leonard in this comic and even Marvel wiki doesn't mention it at all... Maybe it's a mistake or something... Either way, not like I care. Bullseye is an interesting villain with a long history in Marvel comics, so if the next issues will keep the pace of the second half of this opening issue - I will be fine with it. Also Dillon's art doesn't let me to forget Bullseye from PunisherMax... God, I still see his face when he tried to shit some gun from his ass...

It's fine. I didn't really expect it to be a masterpiece, but it's okay, a nice attempt to make a villain limited series. Read it for some fan service cameos and Bullseye's origin details.

Wow, I finally found a good Marvel MAX comic. At least for me. Yeah, the art is really dirty and makes characters look like midgets sometimes, but it's so crispy and fitting, so I like it. The Cage here is badass as hell - just like I would love to see him. Yeah, he kinda looks like an asshole here and I personally didn't expect to see Cage hanging out with some whores, when his image as a husband and father already got cemented in my mind... But I really love reading through this! The story isn't something innovative and epic, just an ordinary casual street level stuff you would expect to see in such comic book. But an epic boss battle with Tombstone is coming and I hope it'll be truly epic. This comic already feels epic even when nothing major is happening. I might be exaggerating and overrating it, but it's indeed much better, than Pale Little Spider, for example.

Still good, but some moments were a bit vague for me. Maybe it's just me.

Um... the comic is still fine, but I'm really disappointed about this Tombstone's both design and behavior... Guess it's just not Earth-616 and Marvel wiki is a lying piece of shit again. Well, off to a good start and then such a dumb ending... Meh. I didn't expect something big of this series, but the first issue got me really excited. However, my expectations after the first issue were devastated by the following ones... I guess it's still not a bad story, but a very weird one and it really reminds me of Luke Cage Noir. I guess they took inspiration from this Marvel Max book, but made it much more grounded and believable. And that Noir Tombstone was really great, unlike this one.

After reading that 12-part back-up story in the Invincible I decided it's a good idea to read the original Capes comic. It's cool! This first issue is mostly calm, but still funny. I love the idea behind it and the art is badass. It's weird, but it's a super hyperbolic comic art with crooked perspectives and proportions. It could be more... normal... but honestly I don't want it.

I skipped this issue when I read Winter Soldier arc, but I should come back to this and read it before I forget about it... So, here I am. I read House of M many years ago, but remember much of that. Here's something more about the history of that universe. Main series didn't have a word about it, so this issue explains much. But as for Cap it seems more like a what if comic... And I didn't find it that much interesting and fulfilling.

Whew... back to this series after so much time... I already have too many dropped series, so it's time to close some of them up. I never tried this series after the Winter Soldier arc before. Good issue! It reminded me why I loved Brubaker & Perkins. This issue is cool even without Cap as a main character. UPD Just remembered, that Perkins was inker in the previous issues and now he's both inker and artist. Well, I didn't think inker can be this important for the style of the book, because his art doesn't look much different from Epting's if you don't give it too much thought. Cool.

This is a good adaptation of a silly movie. I mean... The movie is 3.2 on IMDB... wtf... Yeah, it's silly, it has many weird moments. Take the ending for example. Or this president... But either way, it was not a completely hopeless attempt to make a Cap'n movie. It was rushed, but had 40's and the modern era shown. I loved how Cap reacted to the new world and it was made better, than in MCU. Yeah, the origin was better in MCU 100%, but still. The movie had good ideas and it's definitely not 3.2. I personally would rate it as 5 or 6. I had mixed feelings and definitely not hate. Previous Cap movies were much worse. And this adaptation is a good comic. Yeah, it didn't fix the movie's mistakes (the conclusion was kinda made even worse lol), but it reads fine and Stan was cool here. I think the movie is overhated, because no one really gives too much thought to these old Marvel movies. They were cheap and not for the mass audience, but I personally wouldn't call all of them shit... Man, I think Stan tried to fix the ending, but I don't know. It's even sillier.

If the previous Blue/Gray/Yellow limited series came out year after year, then between Hulk and Cap we have a 4 year gap. What's even more funny is that fans waited for another 7 years before they could finally see the next issue... And I don't understand how Tim Sale's art can be that much simpler and careless here, than it was back in 2002... I mean, Tim was gorgeous and spectacular in the previous books, but here it's just... like something is missing. I'm curious of what was after 7 years, I never read White before. At first I thought that White was the earliest one, but no, quite the contrary! The story piece in this issue was kinda too simple and short in my taste. For now it's significantly weaker, than the previous books, but still not bad. This is a fine beginning, but not many events are here and for now I don't really see the idea behind this. So, Cap is sad over Bucky's death? He actually must've been already come alive as Winter Soldier in 2005 if I remember it right. So for now I see it only as another flashback, not origin story actually, because we already see Steve as Cap and this is definitely more about Bucky. I don't have anything against it. Also the title... Why white? I guess, not black indeed, but... For every series the color meant something. Because in English colors do mean something else. Blue is for sadness, yellow is for fear, gray is for gloom and white... Maybe innocence? At least that what comes in my mind if I actually remember that it's about a teenage boy sidekick. Yeah, I'll stick to this version. Maybe it was in some official interviews and materials, but I'm too lazy to read them.

Yeah, the art in this issue is much better in details, than in the previous one. Still not 2002, but hell, it's better, than many other artworks in comics anyways. I feel like Tim really tried to fit the spirit of 40's and 60's with his art here and I even got some Kirby flashbacks in some facial expressions. And Loeb finally started to tell about something white in the story. I loved such moments in Yellow and it still fits here. The story in this issue is better, than in the previous one, but it's still kinda boring for me, because I'm certainly not a fan of these old WW2 stories. But it might be worse, so I take it as it is, pretty modern anyways.

Awesome ending, I must admit.

This isn't bad, but it's the weakest book of these Sale/Loeb Blue/Yellow/Gray/White limited series. Still worth reading, I believe, but I think only die hard Cap fans can really appreciate it the way it should be. Sadly I'm not one of them, so for me it was rather boring on some parts, but still, the best parts of the story carried it and did repay for them.

Well, I remember reading this Hulk shot back when I was a teen. Didn't think much of it. And it's really just... Okay, readable. Thanks for the legit Blue Hulk. I think it's time to finally read the full series and see if the story is worth it.

I can't see the reason why they decided to get X-23 involved in this, but it was really boring. The writing sucks.

The story is just boring. The art is not bad, but... Something is wrong. Most of the faces are awful... And by far only Daredevil's amplified powers were interesting in the story... I feel like the potential is wasted all around and the story continues just to continue, with no real purpose of showing anything interesting.

It's good so far. Not a bad beginning for the story. The return of Doppelganger after 17 years. There was almost no Carnage, but it's already better, than Venom (2003). At least the cover isn't misleading. And Crain is really good here. His art isn't that detailed as it was in the Venom vs Carnage (2004), but faces are much better.

Well, it's really similar to the Venom (2003) here. Another woman merges with a clone of an old symbiote and then after a while becomes a different character... Which is useless and will be killed in a different series couple of years after.... But the comic is still fine.

This is a pretty solid series with almost no bad moments. The art is brilliant and the story itself is fine and maybe even important, at least for the Carnage continuity.

For me it was almost the same as the first book. Fine, but the art mostly carrying it. The story isn't THAT brilliant. It's just OK.

That was cool. The art fits the story very well and it was a pretty interesting one-shot to read. It captures the essence of Carnage just right.

Not a bad adaptation. A bit rushed, but almost all adaptations are in a way, that's the way it was. The movie was really great, by the way, so if you don't really remember it, you might try this comic book, it's really close to the movie script overall and just simply nice.

For those who wondered, this reprints Casper's Strange Ghost Stories #14, that's why it looks too old for 2019. Man, this looks cool, by the way. I think I need to read those classic Casper series some day.
